Tour Logic Perfect Swing Trainer Failed Perfectly

It must have been a Friday evening that I was walking through Target (pronounced Tar-Shey to give it some panache) picking up this and that for the weekend.  I found myself it their meager golf section looking for Mojo golf balls for my brother since that is the brand he plays just for the name.  My quest to test training aid appraisal popped in my mind and I looked to see what Target had to offer.  I saw the Perfect Swing Trainer and thought the name said it all.

Perfect Swing Trainer Description

The first thing I noticed was the weight of the box once I took it off the shelf.  This is a weighty trainer.  The device consists of a simple golf ball on a string attached to a protruding arm that is screwed to a metal plate which in turn is staked to the ground.  The ball’s distance cannot be adjusted from the ground without uniting the factory tied knot.

What Will the Perfect Swing Trainer Correct

The concept behind the Perfect Swing Trainer is the looping path of the ball after being struck will illustrate the path of the ball in free flight.  The best result is a vertical swinging ball.  If the ball is looping a side, you hit a slice or hook.  Since the ball is on a string, you can hit the ball for hours and save money on driving range buckets of balls (in theory).

Best Practice for Perfect Swing Trainer

Nail the Perfect Swing Trainer down in your backyard and make sure it is not pointed at windows. The concept is that you can swing away to your heart’s content on the Perfect Swing Trainer and save money compared to hitting buckets at the driving range.  This is one of those too good to be true/money saving devices.

Perfect Swing Trainer Cost

Is the perfect swing trainer worth it.

No, hell no.  I broke this device with 5 swings .  We cannot say it was my swing power as I was hitting my 5 hybrid and I am not that strong.  Also, I could not tell from the swing loop whether I was on path or slicing or hooking because it was not standing directly behind it and the ball made three to four loops before dying.  Finally, I did not like the feel of contact to the ball on a string.  It felt like I was hitting a rock and the first time I thought might have hit the arm.

Here is the video of my trainer of the Perfect Swing Trainer.  Watch it to the end.  You will also notice my dog, Greta, was not impress either.

You set it up wrong. Reverse the angle iron around.

In Russia, the western concept of building architecturally beautiful golf courses filled with modern and luxurious amenities has found fertile ground. What was considered a frivolous pastime during the time of the Soviets has become the latest trend for the stylish set. These days, there are countless options around Moscow to practice golf, polo, ski, yachting, and other sports alongside 5-star hotels, luxurious country houses, and magnificent villas.

The game of golf is a sport that requires passion and expertise. It is also part of a culture that considers this pastime a synonym of social prestige and exclusivity. In recent years, the new Russian elite has turned to golf as a vehicle of integration in the era of globalization. Golf courses are also meeting and socializing spaces where Muscovite tycoons can relax and also seal business deals.

Golf Courses in Russia

The Moscow Country Club, Pestovo Golf & Yacht Club, Tseleevo Golf & Polo Club, and Zavidovo Golf Club, PGA National Russia are some of the most exclusive and elegant golf courses in Russia. Pestovo Golf & Yacht Club is Russia’s version of a classic country club with multiple attractions.

This park is among the best in Eastern Europe and was awarded the 2014 World Golf Award as the best golf course in Russia. Located 25 miles from Moscow, it is part of a vast complex featuring an 18-hole golf course, designed by Jack Nicklaus , a polo club and a mountain ski club with four tracks. The design combines classic Scottish, Alpine, and English features in a dreamy landscape.

Less than 60 miles from Moscow, this golf course with a definite Scottish design is the only one in Russia recognized as a PGA (Professional Golfers’ Association) from Britain and Ireland. Wolstenholme ready to take on Moscow

Gary Wolstenholme is preparing himself for ‘a test of golf' at Moscow Country Club with the VTB Russian Open Golf Championship (Senior) set to get under way on Friday.

And Wolstenhome, a three-time winner on the Staysure Tour, has played Moscow Country Club on two previous occasions and he is relishing the chance to tackle a course which he believes is in better condition than ever.

“This is the third time I've been here and I've become more impressed with the golf course as I've played it,” said Wolstenholme. “I think the golf course is definitely in a lot better condition than when we were here three or four years ago.

“The weather's been very difficult, so the green staff have had to work very hard to make this such a good venue. The design of the golf course is an extremely good test.

“It's long and it creates a test for players to play both right-to-left and left-to-right shots which, if you're a golfer, you appreciate that creates more of a test in itself.

“I think the course lends itself to long hitting, especially with the weather that we had last night as the course is pretty long anyway.

“Magnus P Atlevi, Stephen Dodd, Phil Price, from Wales, and Phil Golding, who won at London Golf Club recently, all stand out to me as having a chance to do well, but golf being golf, who knows? I might even do well! It's such a good test, I think only a very good player will do well here.”

Golf is an emerging sport in Russia and Moscow Country Club is at the forefront of the quest to encourage more of the country's natives to start playing.

Wolstenhome, GB&I's record points scorer at the Walker Cup who also received an MBE in 2007 for services to golf, has outlined both what he thinks is needed to grow the game, and some of the benefits which accompany it.

“To me, I think driving ranges are the future as far as giving people an opportunity to play the game,” he said.

“Short golf is the future, as are par three tournaments and things like that. To me, that's where we can get golf going in the future.

“Golf has the opportunity to be able to cross dividing lines, whether it's social or cultural. The great thing about golf is wherever you go in the world – and there are golf courses everywhere – from war-torn areas to the most affluent areas in the world, you transcend that.

“You can have somebody who is the lowest of the low from the point of view of not earning a great amount of money to multi-millionaires. You share that enjoyment of what is actually an incredibly difficult sport.”

Joining Wolstenholme in Russia this week is Staysure PGA Seniors Championship winner Philip Golding, Order of Merit Number Five Phillip Price, WINSTONgolf Senior Open champion Stephen Dodd and 1989 European Tour Number One Ronan Rafferty

The action begins in Russia on Friday August 17, with José Manuel Carriles and Jean Pierre Sallat the first group to tee off at 8.00am local time (BST+2).
