Jennifer Love Hewitt Shares First Public Pictures of Her 3 Kids' Faces on Inheriting Magic Memoir Cover

Jennifer Love Hewitt shared the first public photo of her children 's faces in the most magical way possible!

The 9-1-1 actress, 45, shares a daughter and two sons with her husband, fellow actor Brian Hallisay . However, the couple never publicly posted pictures of their kids' faces until Wednesday, April 17.

“Here it is! My new baby!” Hewitt captioned an Instagram post while announcing her new book. 

The memoir, titled Inheriting Magic: My Journey Through Grief, Joy, Celebration, and Making Every Day Magical , was illustrated by Vanessa Rivera, according to the actress. 

On the cover, the I Know What You Did Last Summer alum sits front and center as she poses with a magic wand and a book of spells as her children — Autumn James, 10, Atticus James, 8, and Aidan James, 2 — gather around.

“I can’t believe how lucky I was to get her for this book! Moms who create magic are special!” Hewitt’s caption continued, adding, “Can’t wait for you guys to read it!”

She also spoke exclusively to E! News about the heartfelt project.

"It was the most stressful decision to show our kids or not show them," she told the outlet in an interview published Wednesday. "But my husband and I felt like we couldn't really tell our story without knowing who they are and how they have made our lives so full and magical."

"My kids also saved me in grief," she added. "They are gifts from my mom and have filled our hearts in such an incredible way. This book is for them!"

Hewitt’s book will also discuss her mother Patricia Hewitt, who died in 2012 .

"I felt healed enough from losing my mom to finally be able to write about it," she told E! News. "I also have seen how creating little bits of magic for my kids and friends makes our memories and everyday lives special. I wanted to honor my mom and how much being a mom means to me and this felt like the best way."

She also previously discussed her growth via social media. 

“This year I went thru [sic] a lot no one knew about,” the actress wrote in a Dec. 31, 2023 Instagram post, noting that she was “ grateful for that privacy .”

She added that she “learned to be a better baker,” “took chances on myself and my bigger dreams,” and “sat deeper in grief and was able to let more go.”

Hewitt told E! News she "reached a greater place of healing" while writing the book.

"But it also shows birthday parties, holidays, how to plan and some family recipes that I hold special," she continued. "As I create my brand, The Holiday Junkie, I wanted to show why I am that person and how it's a mindset and way of life not just a brand."

Inheriting Magic is set for a Dec. 10 release.

They got their son a pet octopus. Weeks later, there were 50 more.

Cameron Clifford had finally given in to his son’s pleas and bought him a pet octopus. After several weeks, he was getting the hang of caring for their new tentacled pet — then he discovered what looked liked dozens of “puffed-up, clear Tic Tacs” inside its den.

Terrance was not a male octopus, as they had first thought. Her new tank in Cal Clifford’s bedroom was filled with dozens of eggs.

But that was only the first twist in a saga playing out in Edmond, Okla., that captivated thousands of people on social media. The biggest surprise, Clifford said, actually came one night in February, when he picked up one of the eggs — which he had long assumed weren’t fertilized — and accidentally popped it. What he thought was a “blob of some strange liquid” came out and fell back into the tank.

Seconds later, that blob started swimming. It was a tiny version of Terrance.

“I just screamed my wife’s name,” Clifford, 36, told The Washington Post. “That started the whole stress of it because now we felt this immense responsibility of taking care of these babies.”

Over the next week, the Cliffords tried to catch the hatchlings. Suddenly, the family was tending to 50 baby California two-spot octopuses — also known as bimacs.

The mission to keep them alive has been complex, time-consuming and expensive. Clifford estimates that the special tanks and other equipment they’ve purchased have cost his family about as much as a used car.

But it’s also been joyful, said Clifford, a dentist whose TikTok videos chronicling the ups and downs of caring for octopuses have garnered millions of viewers, brought in support from across the country and been called “nothing short of remarkable” by one expert.

“It’s something that I think a lot of people need because there’s so much bad news in the world,” Clifford said. But he’s quick to add a warning: “Having an octopus is hard. It’s laborsome and expensive. It’s wet. It’s all of the above. So you shouldn’t do it if you’re not prepared to follow through.”

How the Cliffords wound up owning about 90 percent of all octopuses in Oklahoma is a journey that begins with his son’s love of marine biology — especially octopuses. Cal, despite living far from the ocean, had begged for a pet octopus for years. Since he was 2, Cal has requested octopus-themed parties and dressed up as the animal for Halloween.

By the time Cal was 8, Clifford said it was clear it wasn’t just a phase. So one day, Clifford stopped at a local aquarium store and asked if it was possible to buy an octopus.

It was, technically , Clifford recalled an employee telling him, but it wouldn’t be a good first pet.

Clifford mentioned the conversation over dinner, and Cal’s face lit up, he said. When Clifford shared a video of Cal’s reactions with their loved ones, they told him he “was going be the worst father” if he didn’t follow through.

Clifford took the hint and in August bought a secondhand 60-gallon tank. On Cal’s birthday in October, an octopus arrived by mail, swimming inside a bag of water.

Without hesitation, Cal declared the octopus’s name would be Terrance after the mischievous character in the Wayside School children’s book series.

Terrance quickly became a beloved member of the Clifford household, which was why seeing eggs in the tank in December was devastating: Octopuses usually die soon after laying eggs.

After consulting experts, Clifford figured the eggs hadn’t been fertilized since Terrance — whom they now occasionally called Terry — hadn’t been around a male in several weeks. But in February, when Clifford saw an egg that had detached from Terrance’s den and decided to inspect it more closely, baby No. 1 was born: Pearl.

Over the next few days, 49 more babies followed, including Seaoncé, Jay Sea, Swim Shady, Squid Cudi, Bill Nye the Octopi and Champ, who was named by a friend of Clifford’s who is going through cancer treatment.

Turns out it wasn’t a case of “Bimaculate Conception,” as Clifford put it, using a riff on Terrance’s breed. Terrance, who was found off California’s coast, mated before she was caught by a diver. The delayed delivery was a product of octopuses’ ability to withhold laying their eggs until they feel safe.

The prospect of caring for 51 octopuses was daunting, Clifford said. But luckily, he added, he’s not alone. Tim Tytle, 80, a retired radiologist who also owns two octopuses — in addition to thousands of geckos, scores of sea horses and dozens of venomous lizards — has been a big help. The two first met around January, when Tytle found out the Cliffords were the only other private octopus owners in Oklahoma and have been a source of support for each other ever since, Tytle said.

Clifford said Tytle was his first call the night he discovered baby Pearl. Soon, the two were scouring books and brainstorming how to get the right food and containers for the hatchlings.

A lot of the octopus babies died in the beginning, especially in their transport to Tytle’s place after a leak upended Clifford’s home. But Tytle said they’ve learned a lot, “and now it’s so much easier.”

Tytle owns a duplex where he keeps most of his pets, and the 23 remaining octopuses now live there. The babies are fed a daily serving of live mysid shrimp Tytle sources from the East Coast. Each octopus is kept in its own plastic container to prevent cannibalization. Soon, they’ll move to a new, 180-gallon tank worth upward of $10,000 that Tytle purchased.

Raising the sea creatures is expensive and time-consuming, but Tytle said the “amazing” animals are worth it.

“They’re very intelligent ,” he said. “Octopuses know one person for another and can change color by just snapping your fingers.”

Clifford and Tytle are now on a mission to find good homes for the octopuses. Clifford even hired an intern to help contact research institutes, aquariums and sanctuaries. Though lots of people have volunteered to take a miniature Terrance, Clifford said they won’t give the babies to private owners. So far, some researchers and professors have expressed interest, he said.

Paul Clarkson, director of husbandry operations at California’s Monterey Bay Aquarium, said finding aquariums to take the babies could prove difficult. Bimacs don’t necessarily have the wow factor associated with other breeds, like the giant Pacific octopus . Still, he applauded Clifford’s efforts to find places that can properly care for the octopuses.

Clarkson admits he’s skeptical of families trying to raise octopuses, but said seeing what the Cliffords accomplished is “pretty remarkable” — especially since octopuses have such a high mortality rate when they’re young.

While he cautioned that octopuses probably don’t belong in most households, Clarkson said he’s delighted that the Cliffords’ journey has introduced more people to the mysterious species.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if 10 to 20 years down the line, there’s some young marine biologist saying, ‘Oh, yeah, it was Terrance the octopus that got me jazzed about this,’” Clarkson said. “It’s just like when I was watching Jacques Cousteau videos when I was a kid.”

Minnesota Republicans request House Judiciary Committee hold hearing to investigate Hennepin County Attorney's Office

Washington, D.C. -  Today, Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06) joined Minnesota Republicans Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach (MN-07), Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08), and Congressman Brad Finstad (MN-01), in a letter to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan and Ranking Member Jerry Nadler requesting the committee hold a hearing to investigate the Hennepin County Attorney's Office in Minnesota. Specifically, they request an investigation into the charges that have been brought against Minnesota State Trooper Ryan Londregan. As stated in the letter, "The Federal government has demonstrated its willingness to involve itself in Hennepin County's justice system in the past. Last year the Department of Justice published a report after carrying out an investigation of the Minneapolis Police Department, located in the same county. The developments of this case are concerning and point to a deliberate attempt to use the Hennepin County Attorney's Office to target members of the law enforcement community. We believe that this is a flagrant example of a problem that your committee has been committed to exposing this Congress: the weaponization of government. We respectfully ask that your committee hold a hearing to examine this issue further." Jason Kelce’s Last Stand: A valiant epilogue that saw the Eagles legend battle time, his body, and a collapsing team

The Season 3 opener of "unCovering the Birds" takes listeners inside Kelce's last journey.

The Jason Kelce head shake became the tell-tale sign for when the Eagles’ offensive game plan was unlikely to work last season.

Or at least that’s how Lane Johnson saw it.

“Any time Kelce would get mad during the week, early in the week, or if he didn’t agree with the game plan, most time we’re not going to win the game,” Johnson said. “It was that way my whole career. Any time we would have a game and he would do the head shaking during early in the week … he knew stuff wasn’t going to work.

Kelce had significant influence on Eagles coaches by his 13th NFL season. But as the team plummeted in the final two months — in what would be the last season for the All-Pro center — there was little even he could do to stop the inevitable.

“If there’s something that I don’t believe is good, or I think is wrong, I’m going to tell people,” Kelce said at one point during the season. “I’m not always right. … When I believe something, I’m gonna voice my opinion. And there’s gonna be times where the coach agrees or disagrees with me.”

The opening episodes for Season 3 of the pod, titled “Kelce’s Last Stand, Parts 1 and 2,” take listeners inside the veteran offensive lineman’s last journey, from the locker room at NovaCare Complex to off-field events like the premiere of his documentary film and his Super Bowl LVIII party in Las Vegas.

Through it all, and with a sharp focus the access provided, it became increasingly clear that Kelce was preparing for life after football. He had already set the wheels in motion and initially wanted his doc to be about the transition a professional football player makes into retirement.

Kelce had been pondering the idea for years and had built an identity away from the gridiron with various enterprises, none more successful than New Heights , the podcast he started with his brother, Travis, in 2022.

The chemistry between the brothers made the show immediately popular, but it exploded when Travis, a Kansas City Chiefs tight end, started dating music star Taylor Swift . Jason might not have been attracting the same attention, but his marketability increased, as well.

The off-field demands of business and family life, and the opportunities that retirement would provide, suggested that his end days were nearing. But nothing spoke more to that than his aching flesh and bones.

“I’m banged up, but I’m always banged up by the end of it,” Kelce said in January after what would be his final practice. “You’re wore out — your knees, your ankles, your joints. Especially the older you are, the more you feel all that stuff.”

Kelce had been open about the physical toll of the game before. But he hardly ever told the full story of how he managed to play in 167 consecutive games, including playoffs, over the last decade. Johnson, who came to refer to his long-time teammate as Tin Man, and others with the Eagles saw his sacrifice up close.

“You could feel his body would be just kind of falling apart some days,” Johnson said. “The guy was just a damn warrior. Everybody has to battle in this game, but you saw a guy that really took it to the limit, emotionally, physically, the way he practiced.

“When you see a guy have to give all that effort into being what he’s become, then it motivates everybody else.”

In the end, Kelce’s toughness and determination couldn’t stave off the Eagles’ 1-6 finish, which ended with a first-round postseason loss at the Buccaneers. In the visiting locker room, the emotional captain spoke to the team as if retirement loomed, per Johnson.

When reporters were permitted inside, Kelce declined to talk.

“I don’t have it in me,” he said.

Six weeks later, Kelce made it official during a teary-eyed news conference : He was retiring from football.

National Science Foundation Announces 2024 Graduate Fellowship Awardees

The National Science Foundation (NSF) recently announced the 2024 award winners for its Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP), a prestigious and competitive fellowship that supports outstanding graduate research across the country. 

NSF Fellows are anticipated to become knowledge experts who can contribute significantly to research, teaching and innovations in science and engineering. These individuals are crucial to maintaining and advancing the nation’s technological infrastructure and national security as well as contributing to the economic well-being of society at large.

Fellows receive a three-year annual stipend of $37,000 as well as a cost-of-education allowance of $16,000 to conduct research at any accredited U.S. graduate school. 

Of the many deserving awardees, an impressive 31 are currently graduate students at The University of Texas at Austin. In addition, the NSF acknowledged 28 UT students with an honorable mention.

Happy Ram Navami 2024: The special festival is here. Every year, Ram Navami is celebrated with a whole lot of pomp and grandeur all over the country. One of the largest festivals celebrated by the Hindu community, Ram Navami commemorates the birth anniversary of Lord Rama. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Ram is the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu and is known for his virtuous nature and good conduct. Both Hindu epics, Ramayana and Mahabharata mentions the story of the birth of Lord Rama. It states that during ancient times, King Dasaratha performed Putra Kamesti Yagna to have children. Queen Kaushalya gave birth to Lord Rama, Queen Sumitra gave birth to Lord Shatrughan and Queen Kaikeyi gave birth to Lord Bharat.

Since then, Ram Navami is celebrated on the auspicious day Lord Rama was born. Large processions are carried out in the streets. People celebrate the virtues of Lord Rama and worship him. Ram Navami, for this year, will be observed on April 17. It also coincides with the ninth day of Chaitra Navaratri. On Maha Navami of Chaitra Navaratri, Maa Siddhidatri is worshipped.
