Thank you for compiling such a comprehensive list. I got to learn about other people experience, and it was really useful.
An awesome list Emma. Have been following you (since Julia Creek, six months into your first trip) and a number of these blogs for a while now. Just love the adventure.
Ahh yes, I remember. Were we camped near each other.. or did I meet you at the Walkabout Creek Hotel?
My husband and I have been travelling Australia in our hybrid van for over a year now. We also have a blog – Flannerysfootprints.wordpress.com I love looking at travel blogs especially by seniors like us!
This is such a great list, thanks for putting it together. I love reading about other peoples experiences in Australia! I also run an expat travel and would love for you to check it out! passportdownunder.com.
Travelling Oz Our Way Been on the road fulltime for 12 months
Great to see so many Aussie’s living the dream! Great wrap up Emma! We will join them all next year once our van arrives, can’t wait!
Wahoo, that’s exciting!
A fantastic blog list you have added here. Thanks for all the great sites which I have found on here.
Awesome list! Makes me look forward to when borders reopen and we can explore the Great Southern Land once again!
I’d also recommend the ATAS blog, which is run by the Australian Federation of Travel Agents. Lots of articles about both international and local destinations, in-the-know tips from travel agents and so on.
Goodness what an epic list, for an epic country! I love how you have included so many families as well so you get a diverse range if opinions about what is good to visit.
This makes it looks like travelling for a long time around Aus in some kind of van/RV is the way to go!
Being such a huge country, a caravan, motorhome or camper is the best way to get around.
We’ve been following My Rig Adventures. Just like our 8 years RVibg North America, we would like to do it in Australia, too!
We love reading your stuff as well because we’re keen to do some RVing across the States.
I’ve had the pleasure of visiting Sydney for 3 weeks during my college times. Can’t wait to be back to Australia and explore the country beyond Sydney! It’s great that you shared so many useful blogs that I could go back to and refer to when planning my next trip with my husband.
There is so much to explore beyond Sydney, but that definitely gives you a great start. Hopefully you can get back down here one day.
There sure are a lot of travel blogs about Australia! And we’ll make sure to read all these travel blogs before planning our trip to Australia.
It’s a huge thing right now for families and younger people to take off around Australia on ‘The Big Lap.’ So, there are loads of people sharing their experiences for others. It’s great.
Wow, this is such an informative blog post, thank you for sharing! I’ve been to Australia three times now, but the first two times were for work and didn’t allow me much time to explore. Last year we spent a few days in Melbourne and drove the Great Ocean Road which was great! But it’s such a vast country with so many more places to explore so I’m saving this article for future reference đ
I can appreciate that work trips really don’t let you explore too much. They’re just a tease really. Funnily enough, we haven’t even done the Great Ocean Road yet, but we’re getting there. Even living here and travelling, the country is just so vast, it all takes time.
Australia is a country I always want to visit, but my fear of snakes won’t really let me at the moment! Maybe reading these bloggers will make me feel a little better about it!
If you visit the big cities you won’t see any snakes, so that’s an option for you.
Wow! This is an amazing list of bloggers and surely all their help and advice would be all anyone needed to help them plan their trip to Australia! So helpful to have so many listed in one place đ
It’s a huge collection full of people with loads of experience.
This list is such a great resource! Also, thank you for sharing everyone’s family units. If I’m traveling with kids it is super useful to hear about the experience of others with kids who are around the same general age.
Definitely. It’s always helpful to look at the experiences of those in a similar situation.
Thanks for compiling this helpful list! I’m always really grateful when researching new destinations to find that someone has already done all the leg work and gathered useful information into one place!
Thanks Carly-jo đ
Fittingly, a massive list for a massive country. Nice round-up!
Haha massive indeed.
I wish all the best on your journey in Tasmania Annette Dale and the boys
What about Trip in a Van…they have have 40 thousand followers on You tube, Instagram & Facebook. Another one is Sparkys on the Loose – a young couple that alot of people without kids can relate. Thanks.
Yeah everyone knows TIAV. We asked Sparkys if they wanted to be included but they said they’re having a bit of a break to restock the bank balance.
Just started one and hoping to add more content this year getting ready to travel next year hopefully. Recon Adventurers on Facebook , Insta and YouTube.
Wahoo, that’s super exciting!

The best Australian Instagram accounts to follow right now
By Sophie Knight and Katharine Sohn
The hazy Seven Sisters and crashing waves below the swimming pool on beautiful Bondi Beach are just a few of the motifs beloved by these photographers â but itâs the hidden corners, off-the-radar islands and untouched shores our favourite local Instagrammers capture that showcase the everyday beauty of Australia and Tasmania . With summer in full swing right now, a bit of escapism is more enticing than ever.

Sydney -based photographer @annapihanâs utterly dreamy travel feed is due to her primary mode of shooting on 35mm film. Through grainy toned-down shots of half-naked beach goers on Italyâs sun-drenched coast, up-close palm trees in Marrakech , worshippers in Oman and glittering waves in Australia, Pihan aims to see, and find, every corner of the world. Sheâs launching a new project, @thepleasureofleisure , in 2021 in partnership with print-shop and hotel souvenir brand @hotelmagique .
Alejo Achaval
The feed of @alejoachaval is a surferâs paradise. His vintage-style, hazy photographs of Australiaâs waters and free-spirited wave riders are transporting and a lovely dose of seafaring escapism.

The Aussie Travel Bloggers You Need To Follow
Jayne Gorman
February 4, 2015
Since moving to this side of the pond I seem to stumble across another awesome Aussie travel blog everyday. As someone who is new to the country I’ve been devouring the advice local travel bloggers have to offer about travelling in Australia, as well as learning about some of the subtle differences between blogging in the Aussie market versus the UK one. For anyone planning on travelling to Oz, or just looking for some new content to light up your feed, I’d like to introduce you to my favourite Australian travel bloggers.
The Travelling Light
The Travelling Light is such a distinctive, beautifully designed blog I feel compelled to dig around further every time I end up on it. The content is a visual curation of special places the author Katie (a branding and marketing professional) has discovered around the globe. Her list of secret places I think you’ll love include; yoga classes in Hoi An , secret bars in London  and gelato in Rome .
Find The Travelling Light on twitter , facebook & instagram
A Pair & A Spare
A Pair & A Spare is a lifestyle website with a heavy dose of DIY. Geneva, the author and founder, has combined her love for craft and design with travel to produce stylish travel guides and DIY travel projects. I hope to follow in the footsteps of her quick guide to Byron Bay someday soon and will pack my DIY travel journal with me when I go!
Find A Pair & A Spare on twitter , facebook & instagram
Mister Weekender
Mister Weekender wants me want to see more of Australia. Right this minute! Her images and itinerary suggestions for Tasmania , in particular, made me want to hop on the next flight. Site founder, Jaharn, very kindly puts all her itinerary recommendations into free downloadable pdf guides – how handy is that?
Find Mister Weekender on twitter , facebook & instagram
Little Grey Box
Phoebe’s site is chock-full of travel tips and intuitive living advice. She’s a Brisbane local and has lots of great posts (and videos) on things to do in the city. It’s her personal column that really draws you into Phoebe’s site though, her honesty and candidness in posts such as this are refreshingly endearing.
Find Little Grey Box on twitter , facebook & instagram
Escape Button
The evocatively named Escape Button makes me want to repeatedly press the escape button on my keyboard until I end up somewhere that looks like its home page! Run by freelance stylist Jess, I love how she injects her sense of style into her travel posts. Particularly impressive is the way she showed a stylish side to Canberra in her latest posts – this coffee roasters looks tempting and the photos from the hot air balloon ride she took are simply breath-taking.
Find Escape Button on twitter , instagram & facebook
Bitten By The Travel Bug
If I’m ever unsure about what airline or class to fly in I turn to Nicole. The self-confessed aviation geek behind Bitten By The Travel Bug writes such detailed flight reviews you feel like you flew with her (if only!) Based in Melbourne, she also writes about the street art and food scene they rock over there – she’s even got me tempted to try the Barbie High Tea at The Langham .
Find Nicole Travel Bug on twitter , facebook & instagram
Pegs On The Line
I love a good travel story and Megan (or Pegs) from Pegs On The Line is a bloomin’ brilliant story-teller. She has the ability to take you on a journey; I’ve loved retracing her father’s footsteps  with her in Queensland and watching her fall back in love with Tasmania – despite some (mainly internet and transport based) frustrations.
Find Pegs On The Line on twitter , facebook & instagram
Adventure Baby
Following Christine’s blog, Adventure Baby, has taught me that having kids doesn’t mean you have to be any less adventurous – or that you must stop eating in nice brunch spots and cafes! Adventure Baby features child-friendly travel guides , tips on parenting around the world and food – lots of tempting and delicious food. I particularly enjoy Christine’s reviews of drool-worthy places to feed the family in Sydney , and the cute photos of her family dining out she includes in them.
Find Christine on twitter , facebook & instagramÂ
Hope you enjoyed the list. I’d love to know what Aussie travel blogs you enjoy following.

Look forward to reading more of Phoebe’s corner too đ

Wow I am so impressed by your well-travelled kids (and their inspiring parents!) Thanks for saying hi!
Wow, I am amazed to find blogs that I have not read yet in your list… must confess, I expected to have heard of them all! Thanks!
That’s great! Glad to have introduced you to some new reads đ
I am actually on a hunt for great Australian Travel websites, and you made it easy for me to find them. Thanks!
You’re welcome – hope you enjoy them!
I’d really recommend the ATAS travel blog as well ( http://www.atas.com.au ), which is run by the Australian Federation of Travel Agents. It’s got a knowledge-sharing vibe with heaps of info on domestic and international travel, and they’re running a really wholesome series of articles at the moment (during the COVID-19 days of border closure, etc.) about what travel means to us, gamechanging travel books and so on. Perfect for armchair travel during #isolife!

Meet India’s very own Wonder Woman who looks like a traveler on a mission. Ever since quitting her corporate job in 2011, Sivya Nath hasn’t looked back and has traveled solo around the world to some of the remotest places. As I write this, she would be exploring some other part of the globe walking the unknown trail, munching on some vegan cuisine (Shivya is a vegan traveler!).
The best part is, Shivya makes a living out of it and she does that comprehensively. From hitch-hiking across the Romania’s countryside to having lived with Mayan community in Guatemala, and from boarding Canada’s mountain railways to have accomplished some daredevil activities by stepping out of the comfort zone, Shivya has pulled off it all.

Instagram Travel Blogger & Influencer FAQ
Do travel influencers get paid.
Travel influencers who blog about travel, destinations, or even start a travel blog about being a travel blogger (thatâs me!) can make money in multiple ways. Bloggers and influencers can get paid to travel and share a brand or a destination with their social media accounts such as Instagram or on their website. A few other ways to make money as a blogger is with ads and affiliate links.
How do you become a travel influencer in 2024
- If you want to become a travel influencer on Instagram you need to focus on your Instagram account. Spend time daily on the platform.
- Consistently post photos, reels, and live. Beyond this it is really important to engage with your followers as well as other accounts on Instagram.
- Know your niche (what makes you and your travel unique) and consistently tell this story.
- Youâll want to research hashtags and use them in your posts (so more people find you on the platform.)
- Youâll want to find similar accounts on Instagram and study what they are doing. Decide what you like and make it original for your channel.
How much do travel influencers charge?
Instagram influencer pricing as of 2024 is in this range per post or reel.
Micro (10-100k followers) $100-500 Mid (100-500k followers) $500-$5k Macro (500k-1m followers) $5-$10k Mega (1m+ followers) $10k+
How much money can you charge for every 10k Instagram followers?
Most micro-influencers who have 5-10k followers make an average of âš6,531 per post. Creators with 50,000 to 80,000 followers usually charge around âš14,843 per post and as you move higher up the ladder creators with 250,000 to 500,000 followers charge around âš49,725 per post.
How do Instagram travelers make money?
Companies like clothing, travel gear, photography equipment, tours or even hotels you stay at. You will get paid to recommend their products to your followers. You can promote trips where the winning party covers all the costs but doesnât pay for content.
Do influencers travel for free?
Though influencers usually need massive followings to get paid to travel, there are plenty of companies that pay smaller influencers too. It takes work, the right marketing strategy, and the right pitch to the right company to pull it off, but you too can get paid to live that travel fantasy!
Who are your favorite Instagram travel bloggers & influencers? Who do you think are the best travel bloggers on Instagram? Let us know in the comments below.
p.s. if you find that any of these accounts arenât active in their feed or stories, please let me know so I can find an awesome travel account to replace it with!

Family Travel in Australia
Our Top 50 Australian Family Travel Blogs
December 1, 2022 by Bryony @ Coasting Australia Leave a Comment
Since we made the decision to travel Australia full time while the kids are small, we’ve been amazed at the huge travelling family community that we have discovered.
It seems that more and more families are questioning ‘the norm’, and finding an alternative way to spend time together, escape the daily grind and have a break from too much technology.
We’ve been so inspired by the people who we have met along the way that we thought we would put a list together of families who you can follow to motivate you on your travels, give you information on doing the lap, and help convince you to take the leap if you haven’t already.
The list is in no particular order (there is no way I could pick a favourite!) we’ve included some basic info on the family plus links to where you can find them online and on social media.
If you’d like to be added to the list please fill in the contact form at the bottom.
See you on the road!

We also offer any trips, tours or experiences that we are unable to attend to the students in our group too – over the last couple of months we’ve given away tickets to attractions in Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra.

Sydney mall stabbing rampage caught on video, 6 murdered, multiple injured, sydney mall massacre video shows terrifying knife rampage ... many dead, including suspect.
A knife-wielding killer went on a cold-blooded rampage through a mall in Australia, slaughtering 6 people and injuring several more before he was shot dead by police.
And, in what has become commonplace for these types of incidents, witnesses used cell phone cameras to capture pieces of Saturday's frightening massacre in Sydney's busy Westfield Bondi Junction mall.
Check out this dramatic footage ... the alleged 40-year-old suspect was confronted on an escalator by a man trying to fend him off with a pole.
Other videos showed bloody victims lying on the ground with people trying to assist them and a female police inspector crouched over the dead suspect after she took him out.
New South Wales police commissioner Karen Webb said cops responded to a Saturday afternoon report of multiple people stabbed at the shopping center.
When officers arrived at the mall, they found a chaotic situation in which scared shoppers were hiding in stores and running away from the assailant.
The lone perpetrator was eventually shot dead by the same police inspector who, moments earlier, was dashing toward him to neutralize the threat.
Ultimately, the suspect was fatally shot by the inspector after he raised his knife at her.
Webb said four women and a man were killed inside the mall; another woman was rushed to a local hospital, where she later died.
The commissioner also said eight other people, including a nine-month-old baby, were being treated for their injuries at various hospitals in Sydney. The extent of their injuries and their conditions were unclear, although the infant required surgery.
Investigators were working to find a motive for the attack.

Fjords, Pharaohs or Koalas? Time to Plan for Your Next Eclipse.
If you canât get enough of totality, or missed out this time, youâll have three more chances in the next four years in destinations like Iceland, Spain, Egypt and Australia.
- Share full article
By Danielle Dowling
Are you still a little giddy from the magical moments of totality during Mondayâs solar eclipse? Or did clouds swoop in to block your view? Maybe you just couldnât make it to the path of totality this time. No matter what, the question now is â Where and when will it happen again?â
âPeople who have never seen it before, the first words out of their mouth after the totality ends is âIâve got to see another one, this is incredible, this is unbelievable.â That is when you become addicted to these things and end up traveling no matter where the next one is,â said Joseph Rao, an eclipse chaser and guest lecturer at the Hayden Planetarium.
So, if like Mr. Rao, youâve developed a raging case of umbraphilia â the love of eclipses â youâll have three chances over the next four years to see the moon blot out the sun. The first, on Aug. 12, 2026, will start above Greenland, then strafe the west coast of Iceland and move along the Atlantic Ocean and over Spain. Almost a year later, on Aug. 2, 2027, another will skirt the Mediterranean coast of North Africa then cross Egypt and part of the Arabian Peninsula. The third, on July 22, 2028, will cut across Australia and the southern tip of New Zealand.
Future Eclipses
Eclipse chasers will have several more chances this decade to view a total solar eclipse .
Last week, as Victoria Sahami , the owner of Sirius Travel , was preparing to guide a group of tourists in MazatlĂĄn, Mexico, for Mondayâs big event, she was also planning for these other upcoming eclipses. Ms. Sahami joined the ranks of the eclipse-obsessed when she witnessed one in Venezuela in the 1990s. âLike many people, I was hooked. There was no going back,â she said.
Total solar eclipses happen fairly regularly â about every one to two years â in locations scattered around the world. âThatâs the great thing about them: You wind up in places that you donât normally go,â Ms. Sahami said.
A major spoiler is weather, which will be a big variable in the 2026 eclipse â one Greenland, Iceland and Spain will see.
âIceland normally has a lot of cloud during that time of year,â said Paul Maley , who runs Ring of Fire Expeditions . âThe data shows Spain to have the higher good-weather prospects of all three. However, the sun is low in the sky and the eclipse ends as the sun hits the horizon at sunset.â
Because of Icelandâs mercurial meteorology, Ring of Fire Expeditions is going all in on Spain, with a 10-day excursion on the mainland. Sirius Travel is offering not only a five-day trip to Majorca but also an eight-day tour around Iceland. It will be based in Reykjavik, and the itinerary will remain flexible on the day of the eclipse so the tour can easily pivot toward the location with the least cloud cover. Ms. Sahami recommends the trip for those who already have a few eclipses under their belt and would be happy just to take in the sights of Iceland if the weather doesnât cooperate.
The 2027 eclipse, on the other hand, promises to be truly stellar: Luxor, Egypt â the site of numerous ancient temples as well as the Valleys of the Kings and Queens â sits right in the middle of the path of totality and will be bathed in darkness for a full 6 minutes 23 seconds. Weather-wise, it is what Ms. Sahami called âa slam dunk.â âYou know youâre going to see it. You know that youâre not going to get any clouds,â she said.
But for all its potential, those considering Egypt should be aware that the State Department has a Level 3 âReconsider Travelâ warning for the country because of the risk of terrorism.
The 2028 eclipse will darken the skies over Sydney, Australia, for 3 minutes 49 seconds. It will be the first time the city has experienced a total solar eclipse since 1857. Ms. Sahami has her eyes on a trip based out of there, while Mr. Maley has chartered a cruise ship off the northwest coast of Australia. It will be winter there, he said, but that isnât likely to mean bad eclipse-viewing weather.
If you want to see any (or all) of these eclipses, you should get started on planning and booking now, particularly if you want to sign up for a trip organized by a tour company. One of Sirius Travelâs excursions to Luxor is already full.
Scrutinize refund policies and look into insuring your trip. Several companies will fully refund your deposit if you cancel a year in advance. A lot can happen, Ms. Sahami said, âbut if you think youâre going to go, why not?â

Spotify Premium Users Can Now Turn Any Idea Into a Personalized Playlist With AI Playlist in Beta
April 7, 2024
We know that discovery happens on Spotify , with nearly two billion discoveries happening on our platform every day. Features like our AI DJ and daylist power those discoveries and bring fans closer to the artists they love. Now weâre providing our Spotify Premium subscribers with another tool to fuel discovery and music curation. With AI Playlist in beta, you can effortlessly turn your most creative ideas into playlists.
Starting with users on Android and iOS devices in the United Kingdom and Australia, creating a new playlist with AI Playlist is as simple as typing a unique prompt into the chat. Looking for âan indie folk playlist to give my brain a big warm hug,â ârelaxing music to tide me over during allergy season,â or âa playlist that makes me feel like the main characterâ? AI Playlist has you covered. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert playlist creator, AI Playlist pairs our powerful personalization technology with AI to deliver that perfect musical mix, just for you.
You can use prompts that reference places, animals, activities, movie characters, colors, even emojis. The most successful playlists are generated with prompts that contain a combination of genres, moods, artists, or decades. It’s a brand-new tool, and still in beta, so we’ll continue to iterate and innovate on the experience. Stay tuned for what’s to come!
Get started with AI Playlist:
To find AI Playlist, head to the Spotify mobile app and select “Your Library” at the bottom-right corner of your screen.
- From Your Library, tap the “+” button at the top-right corner of the app and select “AI Playlist.”
- Select one of the suggested prompts or type your own. Get creative and be specific! For example, you could try creating âsad music for painting dying flowersâ or “tracks for horse riding into the sunset.â
- Wait as we do our magic. Spotify will offer some tracks that match the vibe you’re going for.Â
- From there, you can easily manage the selection of songs by previewing and deleting tracks. Have notes? You can revise and refine the playlists you generate by telling AI Playlist what youâre looking for (i.e., âmore popâ or âless upbeatâ).
- Tap “Create,” and your new playlist will be saved automatically in Your Library.
Just like that, Spotify will help you curate a personalized playlist based on the tracks, artists, and genres we think youâll like. While it’s designed to be fun, the tool is still in beta and won’t produce results for non-music-related prompts, like current events or specific brands. We also have measures in place around prompts that are offensiveâso please prompt responsibly!
At Spotify, we aim to deliver the right piece of music for that exact moment in time. With AI Playlist in beta, weâre excited to give Premium subscribers in the U.K. and Australia a new way to discover music. Over the coming months, we look forward to continuing to iterate on this new feature to best serve our listeners.

Israelâs war on Gaza live: US rules out joining Israeli attack against Iran
Israel strikes Gaza refugee camps as UN chief urges peace at Security Council meeting on Iranâs Israel strikes.
- The US ruled out joining any Israeli counterattack against Iran, officials said, as Israelâs war cabinet concluded a meeting reportedly without a decision on what action to take in response to Tehranâs first direct attack against the country.
- Israeli forces again bombed the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, killing five and wounding dozens as the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) met to discuss Iranâs retaliatory strikes against Israel.
- UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for de-escalation at the UNSC and said the world could not afford another war in the Middle East.
- At least 33,729 Palestinians have been killed and 76,371 wounded in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7. The death toll in Israel from Hamasâs October 7 attacks stands at 1,139, with dozens of people still held captive.
France to step up security at synagogues, Jewish schools
French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin has ordered local officials to boost security around synagogues and Jewish schools, citing concern over âthe current international situationâ.
In a post on X, Darmanin wrote:Â âAs Passover approaches and given the current international situation, I have told local officials to significantly step up security at places visited by our Jewish compatriots, especially with regards to synagogues and Jewish schools.â
Both Israel and Iran can âclaim victory, step down off the precipiceâ
Analysts are debating whether Iranâs attack was calibrated to cause genuine devastation in Israel or to save face at home after promises of revenge while avoiding a major new war.
âI think the Iranians took into consideration the fact that Israel has a very, very strong, multilayer anti-missile system, and they probably took into consideration that there will not be too many casualties,â said Sima Shine, a former senior Mossad official at the Institute for National Security Studies in Tel Aviv.
Iran managed to strike a balance between retaliating publicly for the strike in Damascus and avoiding provoking further Israeli military action, at least initially, which could lead to a much wider conflict, said Mona Yacoubian, vice president of the Middle East and North Africa Center at the US Institute of Peace.
âBoth [Iran and Israel] are able at this point to claim victory and step down off the precipice, particularly since there were no Israeli civilians killed,â Yacoubian said.
Iran reopens airports in Tehran
Iran has resumed operations at the Imam Khomeini international airport and the Mehrabad airport in the capital, Tehran, according to the state-run Tasnim news agency.
Authorities had closed the airports on Sunday before launching an unprecedented missile and drone attack on Israel.
Monday market reaction after Iran strikes Israel
Asian shares fell and gold prices rose as risk sentiment took a hit, though oil prices dipped.
âAn attack was largely priced in the days leading up to it. Also, the limited damage and the fact that there was no loss of life means that maybe Israelâs response will be more measured,â said Warren Patterson, head of commodities strategy at ING.
âBut clearly, there is still plenty of uncertainty and it all depends on how Israel now responds.â
Oil prices were little changed with Brent crude futures trading 0.14 percent down at $90.32 per barrel.

WATCH: US says Iran âwill be held responsibleâ for further attacks
If youâre just joining us.
Itâs 7am (05:00 GMT) in the occupied Palestinian territory and Israel.
Here are the main developments from overnight.
- US President Joe Biden told Israelâs Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Washington will not take part in an Israeli counterattack against Iran, according to officials.
- The UN Security Council held an emergency meeting on Iranâs retaliatory strikes against Israel, with the UN chief urging âmaximum restraintâ and China branding the suspected Israeli consulate attack that set off the tensions as of âan extremely vicious natureâ.
- Israelâs war cabinet met to discuss a response to Iranâs attacks but were divided on how and when to respond, according to media reports.
- Israeli forces continued bombarding Gaza, killing five Palestinians in the Nuseirat refugee camp and wounding five in Khan Younis. Gazaâs media office said Israeli forces have carried out six attacks on the camp over the past 24 hours, killing at least 19 Palestinians and wounding 200 more.
- Israeli forces carried out raids across the occupied West Bank, arresting eight people and closing with Palestinians in the town of Beit Ummar, north of the city of Hebron.
Pro-Palestine activists protest against Boeing, Elbit in Australia
Pro-Palestinian activists held protests across Melbourne, including outside a Boeing factory and on the steps of state parliament, on Monday.
Demonstrators outside the Victorian Parliament in the centre of Melbourne protested against the state governmentâs contract with Elbit systems.
âIt was Elbit drones that killed Australian aid worker Zomi Frankcom and her colleagues,â said Greens Party MP Samantha Ratnam. âAnd it is Elbit weapons that are continuing to kill thousands of innocent Palestinians,â she added.
A separate protest was held outside a Boeing factory near Melbourneâs port.
According to a list of companies published by the American Friends Service Committee, Boeing supplies Israel with fighter jets, attack helicopters and bombs, among other weapons.
The Melbourne Activist Legal Centre said several people were arrested at the Boeing protest and that police used âdisproportionate and excessive forceâ.
âArsonist and firefighterâ: Can the US restrain Israel after Iran attack?
Reporting from Washington DC, US
The response from the Bidenâs administration to Iranâs historic missile and drone attack on Israel has been twofold: Washington has re-upped its pledge to always stand by its âironcladâ ally Israel, while also appealing to the Israeli government not to take further action that could drag the region into wider war.
The days ahead will show if those two options are compatible, or if the two governmentsâ priorities are on a collision course, analysts told Al Jazeera.
âThe Israelis have been told by Biden to take this as a win and stop here,â said Trita Parsi, the executive vice president of the Washington-based Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft. âWhile that is helpful, it is by no stretch of the imagination strong and clear enough given Netanyahuâs systematic defiance of Bidenâs advice and warnings in private over the course of the last seven months.â
Biden, Parsi said, âhas to be much clearer and much stronger in drawing a red line for Israel and Netanyahu not to bring the entire region into a warâ.

WATCH: Israel tells UNSC itâs been âshouting from rooftopsâ about Iran
Israeli forces arrest eight palestinians in raids across west bank.
Israeli forces have arrested eight people in early morning raids across the occupied West Bank, according to the Wafa news agency.
Six people were arrested in raids near the city of Tulkarem, while two were arrested from Kafr Nima, west of the city of Ramallah, Wafa reported.
One of the men arrested in Kafr Niâma was beaten by Israeli soldiers, it added.
Israeli raids were also reported in the city of Qalqilya, the town of Yatma, south of the city of Nablus and in the town of Beit Ummar, north of the city of Hebron, according to local media.
Clashes were reported in Beit Ummar, with Israeli forces firing live bullets, sound bombs and tear gas.
Iranâs missile, drone attack was at âhigh endâ of what US officials expected: Report
The Associated Press news agency is reporting that Iranâs retaliatory attack against Israel, which involved the launch of hundreds of ballistic missiles and drones, was at the âhigh endâ of what US officials anticipated.
The agency, citing officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said that despite the high interception rate, Iranâs intent was to âdestroy and cause casualtiesâ and that if successful, the strikes would have caused an âuncontrollableâ escalation across the Middle East.
At one point, at least 100 ballistic missiles from Iran were in the air simultaneously with just minutes of flight time to Israel, the officials told the AP.
Biden and senior officials monitored the firings and interception attempts in real time in the White House Situation Room. The officials said there was âreliefâ in the room once they saw that the missile defence efforts had succeeded.
WATCH: Israeli forces attack Palestinians seeking to return to north Gaza
Blinken speaks with jordan, saudi, turkey and egyptâs foreign ministers.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has spoken with his counterparts in Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Egypt in the wake of Iranâs retaliatory attacks against Israel, according to his office.
During his conversations, the USâs top diplomat reiterated that Washington is not seeking escalation in the region but will continue to support Israelâs defence.
Blinken also discussed the importance of increasing humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
Biden urges US House to pass bill with $14bn in aid for Israel
The US president has urged Congressional leaders to pass a spending bill that includes $14bn in aid for Israel in a phone call to discuss Washingtonâs response to Iranâs retaliatory attacks.
Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson who was on the call with Biden told Fox News that his party understands âthe necessity of standing with Israelâ and that he would try to advance the spending package this week.
The Biden administration has been pressing the Republican-controlled House to pass the sweeping $95bn US national security supplemental spending package , which includes for Israel, Ukraine and Taiwan, since February.

US embassy âheartbrokenâ over killing of USAID employee
The US Embassy in Jerusalem has sent its âdeepest condolencesâ to the family of Jacob Toukhy, a USAID staff member killed by an off-duty Israeli police officer in the city of Jaffa on Friday night.

The officer has now been arrested.
Toukhy, a Palestinian citizen of Israel, worked for the USAID/West Bank and Gaza Mission.

At UNSC, China calls Israelâs attack on Iranian consulate âextremely viciousâ
Hereâs more from what was said at the UN Security Council emergency meeting on Iranâs attack on Israel.
Chinaâs UN Ambassador Dai Bing told the meeting that a suspected Israeli attack on Iranâs consulate in Syria, which triggered the Iranian response, was of an âextremely vicious natureâ.
Iran claims Israel was responsible for the attack, which killed seven people. Israel has neither denied nor claimed responsibility.
Dai Bing also expressed âdeep concernâ over Iranâs attack on Israel and called for âmaximum calm and restraintâ from all parties.
China also demanded an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and said the âhumanitarian catastropheâ there was âunacceptableâ.

Are Israeli politicians divided on a response to Iranâs attack?
Reporting from occupied East Jerusalem
Israeli politicians are promising some sort of response. The question is what is it going to be and when is going to be?
There are people within the higher echelons of Israelâs decision-making structures who are urging for a harsh reaction to that Iranian attack. Specifically Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich, the nationalist and far-right members of Netanyahuâs government.
Ben-Gvir said that if Israel wanted to contain the threat of Iran in the Middle East, âthe boss must go nutsâ.
The more measured voices perhaps are Defence Minister Yoav Gallant and war cabinet member Benny Gantz. Ultimately, it is up to the war cabinet to decide and there, voting is limited to Netanyahu, Gallant and Gantz.
We have to wait and see what they decide.
There is an opportunity for Israel here.
Over the last few months, there has been a fraying of its traditional alliances and friendships because of the war in Gaza, with countries like the US and UK critical of the slaughter in Gaza. But for a brief moment yesterday, that was all forgotten â all that international carping about the civilian casualties, aid supplies and the two-state solution fell away and it was back to Israelâs allies staunchly supporting it.
And so Israel wants to build on that.
There was a phone call between Gallant and his US counterpart, Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin, in which the Israeli minister said this is a chance for Israel to build an international coalition to take on Iran.
Of course, the US is reluctant to be any part of an attack on Iran and said that it wants essentially a line to be drawn under this and for everyone to de-escalate.
Israel lifts restrictions on schools, gatherings
Daniel Hagari, spokesman for the Israeli military, says that restrictions on education activities have been lifted across Israel as of 00:00 local time on Monday (21:00 GMT Sunday).
Restrictions on gatherings of more than 1,000 people have also been lifted, he said, allowing sporting events and concerts to go ahead, according to the Times of Israel.
But restrictions on educational activities and gatherings near Israelâs perimeter fence with Gaza and on its northern borders will remain in place. Those restrictions have been in place since October 7.
The update comes a few hours after Hagari said Israel was still on high alert following Iranâs attack late on Saturday night.
Israeli settlers uproot 30 olive trees in West Bank violence: Report
Israeli settlers uprooted 30 olive trees and several almond trees in the town of Qarawat Bani Hassan, west of Salfit, in the occupied West Bank on Sunday , the Wafa news agency reports.
A Wafa correspondent reported that guards from the nearby illegal Israeli settlement of Barkan uprooted the trees belonging to Theeb Marâi in the Wadi Al-Saber area in the town of Qarawat Bani Hassan and destroyed the fence surrounding about 0.2 hectares [0.6 acres] of land.
Human Rights Watch has described Barkan as an Israeli residential settlement and industrial zone with about 120 factories that export about 80 percent of their goods overseas. In the background is the Palestinian village of Qarawat Bani Hassan.
Many Palestinian farmers have been prevented from harvesting their olive trees in the occupied West Bank since October 7.
