  • I3023LDdavidm 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Avoid until construction is complete. Full price to walk through the museum and into the shop. Panoramic view was packed and the pitch was removed. Whole shop overpriced. Avoid until the construction work is complete. Terrible, terrible, terrible. Was in and out in less than 30 minutes. Read more Written April 15, 2024
  • alansA3221YW 0 contributions 2.0 of 5 bubbles Very disappointing and not worth the money €28 per adult with no concession for students to walk along a corridor timeline (fair enough with trophies), sit in the stand viewing the pitch which could only be described as a construction site. Walk along another corridor with staff trying to sell photos of you with the Champions League trophy then a few yards further with a montage of the players and into the club shop as you exit...€195 for an adult replica kit! No visit to changing rooms/tunnel entrance etc. Read more Written April 12, 2024
  • danielmZ5366LM 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Disappointing Incredible stadium, wasted by a short rubbish tour where you don’t see player changing room, conference room or dug out. Or get anywhere near the pitch. Also getting shouted at to “move to the left” in Spanish and no other language being used wasn’t helpful. The pitch was also half removed for some reason which was never indicated or explained why. For anyone who is used to stadium tours such as Ateltico Madrid or any premier league clubs I would not recommend Read more Written March 28, 2024
  • 911wa 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Wish we had done Athletico instead! Terrible. Wish we had done Athletico Madrid stadium instead. You can do the locker room, press box, pitch, and presidents box. Waste of an afternoon. Barely filled an hour of our time and we are a huge football family! So disappointed with this “tour”. • Therunningmanc 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Nothing to see - RIP OFF This tour should not be on. A “holding” room of trophies and a quick pitch view from the fourth tier. No changing rooms, press box, pitch side and hardly anything to see in a museum that you would expect to be rich with history and achievements. The Nou Camp tours puts it to shame. We have arrived home gutted with how rubbish the visit to the Bernabau has been - really poor and such a waste of money. Read more Written March 25, 2024
  • 380raineyr 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Waste of money Waste of money. The premium stadium "tour" consists of a woman with little personality explaining the history of Real Madrid in a noisy museum which makes it difficult to hear and then walking out to a middle tier of the stadium viewing the cranes and building site. It may have been explained that it was restricted but this is not a stadium tour at all. Read more Written March 21, 2024
  • g_rkeme2024 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Madritista Baby If you are not the greatest stadium in the world, you are a masterpiece, you are mesmerized as soon as you step inside, and when the stadium is full, then you can't beat it. In 2024, we will have both the Laliga victory and the Champions League victory, and we Madridistas will be drunk with victory that day. We are shaping the squad of the future with our young talents, we are getting ahead of our rivals and we can add 1 more superstar to our squad, it must be every footballer's dream to play in this magnificent stadium. • Jamiejun19 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Purchasing Madrid FC football game tickets This is more of a question and a CRY FOR HELP! Haha. WE WANT TO WATCH A FOOTBALL GAME NOT TOUR - Madrid vs Celta Vigo on 10 March 2024 while we are in Madrid on a city break. Today, we waited for general sale, and they were immediately sold out after 1 minute. However, it says one ticket, click next and then next, but then you cannot select a seat (this is the official Madrid site). What is the deal? Do people buy and then place the tickets on sale on other sites for triple the price? It appears a EUR 70.00 ticket (right at the back with the pigeons) is + EUR 200.00 on resale sites. I went on a resale site, and they cannot guarantee where you will be sitting once you purchase!!! Therefore, is there a knack to getting these tickets, will there be tickets at the stadium on the day (some people have said that's how they have purchased them), or what are the best and legit websites to purchase them from? Thank you for your assistance, and I'm sure there are thousands of other people wanting to know the same thing! This may help people in the futur Read more Written March 4, 2024
  • KayC1992 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Waste of time this shouldn't be on at the moment We went to the stadium for the museum of tour. And paid for both. Except there was no 'tour' at all. We didn't speak to anyone, nobody spoke to us to tell us the 'tour' was limited, and initially did all the museum which is a long corridor and quite interesting. Off to a good start. Then you do to the side entry to have a look at the stadium and pitch. This is also quite interesting especially given the new fold away pitches. Then. That's it. It wasn't explained to us that the WHOLE tour was not on or accessible. You walk down into the shop and. That's it. Literally. We were in here for maybe 25 minutes at a push. No pitchside. No changing rooms. No press area. It is JUST the very limited museum. Considering the tour for the Nou Camp is so so good - do not waste your money. Read more Written March 3, 2024

  • TeamDaws0n 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Terrible way to spend a day in Madrid We turned up at the stadium on a lively sunny day. We were ushered into a holding area where it was explained to us by the guide that we were not getting to visit the changing rooms or the pitch. It was more of a tour of a corridor that held the trophies in. It was not worth the money at all. Read more Written February 15, 2024

Santiago Bernabeu Stadium is the home of Real Madrid, the most decorated football side in club football.

Stars such as Zidane, Beckham, Ronaldo, Sanchez, Ramos, Kaká, Cristiano, etc., have created some of this stadium’s most beautiful footballing memories.

More than one million tourists tour Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid every year, and the passion this place evokes can rival many pilgrimage destinations worldwide.

This article covers everything you must know before booking Bernabéu Stadium Tour tickets.

The Bernabeu Tour begins at the highest part of the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, with stunning panoramic field views from the second stand.

You get a sense of the massive Stadium that can seat more than 80,000 spectators.

You then continue the tour to the ‘Best Club Ever Room’ to see the collection of objects and trophies won by Real Madrid over the years.

After seeing the silverware, you will understand why Real Madrid is known as the ‘Best club of the 20th century’.

You learn about Real Madrid’s history at the Sensations Room through its past legends and titles won.

In this room, you can see the current first team’s skills and goals and see them interacting in an audiovisual presentation projected on an 11-meter (36-foot) screen.

After taking photographs and selfies with your idols, you move to the ‘Kings of Europe’ room to see the 13 European Cups won by Real Madrid.

Santiago Bernabeu Tour then takes you to the team benches, where you can try being in the Real Madrid coach’s difficult shoes.

You also get a privileged view of the play area near the benches, which usually only the players experience.

Next, it is time for the dressing room, which is the most important place for any soccer team, for it is here that they receive instructions from the coach and prepare for the match.

Finally, you head to the press room, where the team’s coach handles the media’s questions.

You leave the Tour del Bernabeu feeling like a Real Madrid player.

However, Real Madrid’s official guides make the visit far more memorable on a guided tour by sharing history, narrating anecdotes, etc.

They also ensure you don’t miss any important exhibits and experiences.

On a self-guided tour, the Bernabeu Tour audio guide, available in ten languages, helps you through.

Another difference is the timing of your visit – self-guided tickets are available all day, while guided tours are available only four times a day.

The Guided Bernabeu Tour starts at 10 am or 12 pm when it operates.

Real Madrid and Microsoft have joined to create the Bernabeu tour’s audio guide.

It incorporates the most advanced technological features to make your visit to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium and the Real Madrid Museum a fun experience.

The interactive audio guide allows visitors to enjoy a personalized experience by choosing one of the three tours available based on their preference.

Santiago Bernabéu is located in central Madrid on the Paseo de la Castellana, one of Madrid’s principal avenues.

Address: Av. de Concha Espina 1, 28036 Madrid. Get Directions .

On weekdays, Madrid’s buses start at 6 am and continue till 11.30 pm with a frequency of 4 to 15 minutes (which depends on the line and the time of day).

On weekends and public holidays, buses start at 7 am and return to the shed at 11 pm.

The Lima-Santiago Bernabéu (Bus No: 14, 43, 120, 150) is just a minute away from the attraction.

Note: If you have booked a hop-on-hop-off Madrid tour bus , you can get off at Stop 7 (Santiago Bernabéu) of Route 2 (Modern Madrid).

The Santiago Bernabéu Station (Services: 10) is just a few steps from the Stadium.

Santiago Bernabeu Stadium to Tour Bernabeu

If you can’t directly board Line 10, you can first get to either Plaza de España or Tribunal Station , both of which fall on the Line 10 route.

If you get to the Real Madrid Stadium outside Madrid City, you can take a train to Nuevos Ministerios (Trains: C1, C2, C3, C4, C4a, C4b, C7, C10, REGIONAL).

Nuevos Ministerios train station is 800 meters (half a mile) from the Bernabeu Tour entrance, and you can walk the distance in about 10-12 minutes.

Nuevos Ministerios train station to Tour Bernabeu

For timings and tickets, check out Renfe , the company that manages trains in Spain.

All Real Madrid stadium tour participants must enter from the Tower B entrance on Concha Espina Avenue.

Tower B is where the Paseo de la Castellana meets Calle Concha Espina. Get Directions

Bernabeu tour entrance in Tower B

If you have booked your Santiago Bernabeu tickets online, you can show them on your mobile at the Tower B entrance and walk in.

If you don’t have a ticket, purchase one from Box Office 3, beside Gate 34 at Tower B.

However, we recommend booking in advance for two reasons:

  • You get to avoid long lines at the ticket counters
  • Online tickets are 3 Euros cheaper than at the venue

Bernabeu tour hours

From Monday to Saturday, the Bernabeu tour at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium starts at 9.30 am and closes at 7 pm.

On Sundays and holidays, the Tour of the World’s best soccer stadium and Museum opens at 10 am and goes on till 6.30 pm.

The last entry is 90 minutes before closure.

The Santiago Bernabeu tour is open throughout the year, except for 25 December and 1 January.

On the day of the match, you can join Tour del Bernabeu for up to 5 hours before the game starts.

The changing rooms are closed from the day before at 1 pm, so you can’t visit the team dressing room on match days.

First team's changing room at Bernabeu stadium

Once the changing room closes, you can only visit the ‘Best Club in History’ and the ‘Sensations’ rooms and enjoy the Stadium’s panoramic view.

When it is four hours to go for the match, all Bernabeu tour participants are requested to leave.

The best time to visit Bernabeu Stadium for the Real Madrid Stadium and Museum tour is as soon as they open at 9.30 am.

Large group tours start arriving around 11 am, crowding the experience.

Santiago Bernabeu also receives many visitors from schools around Spain and Europe, all of whom tend to arrive at the same time.

The dressing rooms are closed from 1 pm, the day before a matchday. When you start early, you see these rooms even if the next day were a match day.

Real Madrid fans are known to spend at least three to four hours on the Santiago Bernabeu tour.

That’s because fans spend a lot of time taking official pictures ‘with’ the players, sitting in the club seats on the field to soak in the experience, spending time in the shop looking at souvenirs, etc.

Tourists in a hurry are known to finish their Real Madrid stadium tour in 90 minutes or so.

The guided tour of Santiago Bernabeu Stadium , where an official Real Madrid CF guide takes you around, also lasts 90 minutes. However, guided tours are not highly rated.

How to get to the Santiago Bernabéu

The legendary Merengue stadium is located a few meters from the Paseo de la Castellana , one of the longest arteries of the city. Being located in an office district - Hispanoamérica, part of the Chamartín district - it has a transport network that guarantees quick trips both to the center and to the Barajas airport .

If your plans in Madrid include a tour of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium , you can choose from the following options to get there:

  • Metro - The "Santiago Bernabéu" stop (line 10) is located a short distance from the stadium. If you are staying near Puerta del Sol, you can take line 1 towards Pinar de Chamartín, get off at Tribunal and take line 10. The journey takes about half an hour. If you arrive directly from the airport, you have two alternatives: if you land at T4, you can take the Cercanías (C1 or C10) to Chamartín and, once there, take line 10 to the "Santiago Bernabéu" stop. On the other hand, if you land in terminals 1, 2 and 3, you can reach the stadium by metro line 8.
  • Bus - Lines 14, 27, 40, 43, 43, 120, 126, 147 and 150 connect various points in the capital with the "Los Blancos" stadium.
  • Train - Nuevos Ministerios station is a ten-minute walk from the Santiago Bernabéu.
  • Car - If you have a rental car, all you have to do is enter the address of the stadium in your navigator. Once you arrive, you will have to leave your car in a paid parking lot. However, this is not the most convenient option. In concomitance with the matches, many streets are closed to traffic.

Where to eat nearby after the tour of the Santiago Bernabéu

If after the tour you want to have a snack, you have to take into account that the Santiago Bernabéu is located in the heart of the financial district . The neighborhood hosts the headquarters of important companies, shopping malls, residential areas and one of the most important interchanges of the city: Nuevos Ministerios. Therefore, there is no shortage of dining options .

Read on and discover our selection of bars and restaurants within walking distance of the Merengue stadium.

  • Cervecería José Luis , the classic of classics. Madrid fans go to this bar to have a few beers before the match (Paseo de la Habana 4).
  • New York Burger , the carnivores' paradise. Its specialty is cooked with smoke at low temperature. If you do not feel like a hamburger, you can opt for a ryb eye (high loin cut) or a Black Angus rib (Paseo de la Castellana 89).
  • Materia Prima , a market restaurant a few meters from the stadium. Its specialties include Russian salad, steak tartar and seafood ceviche (Calle Doctor Fleming 7).
  • Puerta 57 , the Bernabéu's viewpoint. The main attraction is the large glass window overlooking the stadium lawn. It offers pinchos, raciones (tapas) and dishes of the day. If you like soccer, this is an essential stop (Calle Padre Damián s/n). Another option to enjoy the view over the pitch is the Real Café Bernabéu . Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry Share Lead Through 36 Holes at Zurich Classic

McIlroy is playing this event for the first time, and the two-man team from Ireland is in a great spot at the event's halfway point.

  • Author: Jeff Ritter

Rory McIlroy might make his first trip to the Zurich Classic a memorable one.

He's playing with his buddy and fellow Irishman Shane Lowry this week in the PGA Tour's annual two-man team event, and the duo shot a 2-under 70 in Friday's alternate shot, good enough to move to 13 under for the event and into a four-way tie for the lead at the halfway point. Lowy-McIlroy made two bogeys and four birdies, including a birdie 4 on two of TPC Louisiana's par 5s.

"Shane has got a wonderful short game, and it gives me confidence going for those greens whether it be the par-4s or the par-5s that if I get it anywhere up there around the green, I'm going to have a very good look for birdie after he hits his," McIlroy said.

The Irishmen turned a solid round into a very good one with birdies on 7 and 8, their 16th and 17th holes of the day. After McIlroy's big drive on the par-4 8th found a greenside bunker, Lowry hit a nice blast out of the sand to set up an up-down-birdie.

Three teams share the lead with McIlroy and Lowry: Aaron Rai-David Lipsky, Andrew Novak-Davis Thompson and Ryan Brehm-Mark Hubbard.

Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay, who won this event in 2022, are part of a six-team pack one shot behind the leaders. Defending champs Nick Hardy and Davis Riley made the cut on the number and trail by five.

But for now the focus remains on McIlroy and Lowry. When asked if the friends might venture out to have some fun in New Orleans at some point this week, Lowry, who is playing this event for the fourth time, quickly shot it down.

"No, no, no. We're here to play a golf tournament. We'll enjoy ourselves. We'll go for a nice dinner tonight," Lowry said.

"I'll do the same thing I do when I have an afternoon off. I'll go back to the hotel, freshen up, and go for a little stroll around the city and have a look at—just look around. That's what I do."

2024 Zurich Classic leaderboard, scores: Rory McIlroy & Shane Lowry hold share of lead entering weekend

Mcilroy and lowry remain on top of a crowded leaderboard as competition enters its third day.

Zurich Classic of New Orleans - Round Two

The 2024 Zurich Classic toughened up Friday after some relatively free-flowing play in the first round. Instead of best ball format where teams get to take the better of their players' two scores on each hole, Round 2 was alternate shot where teammates often left their partners in terrible positions.

Nobody, it seemed, was immune. Matt Fitzpatrick missed a shockingly short putt that his brother, Alex, had to clean up. Will Zalatoris flubbed a shot from the woods on a thick bed of pine straw that Sahith Theegala had to come in and try to address.

Even the co-leaders, Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry, had their moments.

"I missed a pretty short one on 18 and then another one on the second," Lowry said. "I started to get a little bit into myself, but to roll that one in [at the fourth hole for par] was nice, and to play the last few holes the way we did was really nice, too.

"I think a bit of a lesson there for myself to kind of keep going and just keep trying and keep plugging away. We did that today, and I'm pretty happy how we finished."

How they finished was birdie-birdie-par to shoot a 2-under 70 and maintain a share of the lead after 36 holes of play at 13 under.

It's a crowded leaderboard, though, which should make for a fun few days of play this weekend at the Zurich Classic. Let's take a closer look at the second round and what to expect on Saturday and Sunday.

The leaders

T1. Davis Thompson & Andrew Novak (-13) T1. Aaron Rai & David Lipsky (-13) T1. Rory McIlroy & Shane Lowry (-13) T1. Ryan Brehm & Mark Hubbard (-13)

Obviously, McIlroy and Lowry are the headliners among this group, especially after shooting 61 to open play as they also co-led after Day 1. Given their firepower, they could follow that with something similar in the second best ball portion of the event Sunday. They are an endearing team, one that is easy to cheer, but also they work well together as McIlroy pointed out on Friday after their 70.

"As Shane said, after those it's easy to sort of get hard on yourself," he explained. "I was just trying to keep him as positive as possible and just remind him that I'm here and I'm here to back him up in any way that I can. So, yeah, just trying to keep him positive."

Not every team in this field is as tight-knit as McIlroy and Lowry, and while that can sometimes work against two players, in this instance of these two playing together for the first time at this event, it seems to be working in their favor.

Other contenders

T5. Callum Tarren & David Skinns (-12) T5. Nick Taylor & Adam Hadwin (-12) T5. Zach Johnson & Ryan Palmer (-12) T5. Patrick Cantlay & Xander Schauffele (-12)

Cantlay and Schauffele made a late run at this 13-under lead but bogeyed the par-5 last to fall into a tie for fifth. Still, they shot a round-of-the-day 67 in alternate shot and will be terrifying if they're anywhere close to the lead after best ball on Saturday.  For whatever reason -- perhaps because they are top 10 players in the world, perhaps because they play together all the time, or perhaps because they have so much experience in this format -- they have been among the best alternate shot teams at this event ever and hold the record in that format at 63.

There is nobody I would trust more Sunday.

Rick Gehman and Kyle Porter recap Friday foursomes at the 2024 Zurich Classic. Follow & listen to The First Cut on  Apple Podcasts  and  Spotify .

2024 Zurich Classic updated odds, picks

Odds via Sportsline consensus

  • Rory McIlroy & Shane Lowry: 13/5
  • Patrick Cantlay & Xander Schauffele: 7/2
  • Andrew Novak & Davis Thompson: 9-1
  • Nick Taylor & Adam Hadwin: 10-1
  • Corey Conners & Taylor Pendrith: 12-1
  • Aaron Rai & David Lipsky: 14-1
  • Ryan Brehm & Mark Hubbard: 16-1

I really like the Canadian duo of Taylor and Hadwin, who are 12 under and just one back of the lead. There are currently 39 teams that are within five of the lead, though, which is a crazy number. The bigger problem for Taylor and Hadwin is that they have two Ryder Cup duos ahead of them. Still, Taylor is one of the more underrated players in the world, and both of those guys can get scorching. If they can ham and egg it at the right time on Saturday, they could hold the lead on Sunday.

AVONDALE, La. (AP) — Former BYU teammates Patrick Fishburn and Zach Blair shot a 12-under 60 in better-ball play Saturday to take the third-round lead in the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, the PGA Tour’s only team event.

At 23-under 193, Fishburn and Blair had a one-stroke lead over Luke List and Henrik Norlander, with the Irish duo of Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry — tied for the lead after each of the first two rounds — two strokes back.

Fishburn and Blair, both winless on the PGA Tour, have been playing golf together since their junior high school days in Ogden, Utah.

“It’s kind of why you’re out here playing is to have opportunities like this,” Blair said. “I’ve been out here a handful of years now, so I know that they don’t come that often, and so we’ll do our best to go take advantage of it.”

Fishburn had three birdies and an eagle on the first five holes at wind-swept TPC Louisiana, where the wind gusted to 25 mph. Windy conditions are also expected for Sunday for the alternate-shot finale.

List and Norlander had a 62. List eagled the second and 11th holes.

“We just got in a really good rhythm early,” Norlander said. “I felt like we were both hitting fairways. Not necessarily hitting it really close, but it felt like early we had two chances on every hole.”

McIlroy and Lowry shook off a slow start to birdie seven of their last 12 holes. They shot 64 to join Ryan Brehm and Mark Hubbard, who also had a 64, at 21 under. Canadians Nick Taylor and Adam Hadwin topped the group at 20 under.

“Look, it was a tough day,” McIlroy said. “Birdies were a little harder to come by today than they were on Thursday in the better-ball format. I think today was about staying patient knowing that the course was going to present some opportunities, especially on that back nine.”

Fishburn and Blair were a stroke off the tournament record.

“Just kind of rode Fish all day,” Blair said. “He played good. I mean, it was pretty textbook out there for him.”

They made the turn in 7-under 29 and birdied five of the first six holes on the back nine before finishing with three pars.

“It’s pretty easy to hit shots when Zac is always in the fairway, always on the green,” Fishburn said. “We ham-and-egged it really good today.”

Customer

Lena, our guide in Moscow was excellent. She was very knowledgable and could answer any question we had for her. We liked that she could pick up on our interests and take us places we might not have thought of to go. When we realized that one of the places we had chosen to see would probably not be that interesting to us, she was able to arrange entry to the Diamond Fund and the Armoury for us. Riding the Metro with Lena was a real adventure and a lot of fun. In Saint Petersburg we found Anna well versed in the history of the Tsars and in the Hermitage collection. Arkady in Veliky Novgorod was a very good guide and answered all of our questions with ease. Novgorod was perhaps a long way to go for a day trip, but we did enjoy it. Vasily was a great driver to have and kept us safe with good humour and skill. We enjoyed ourselves so much, my daughter says she is already planning to return. We would both have no hesistation to recommend ExpresstoRussia to anyone we know.

Just wanted to let you know that My grandson Bruno and I couldn´t have been more pleased with our week in Moscow (6/15 - 6/21). We were absolutely enchanted with the whole experience, including getting lost a couple of times in the Metro during our free time. Although both our guides (both Eleanas) were excellent, I would particularly commend the first one (she took us to the Tatiakov, the KGB tour, and to that beautiful cemetery where so many great Russian artists, authors, composers, musicians, militarists, and politicians are buried). Her knowledge is encyclopedic; and her understanding of today´s Russia as a product of its past was, for us, truly enlightening. I will be taking another tour in Russia, with my wife, within the next two or three years. I will be in touch with you when the time comes. Meanwhile, I will refer you to other potential visitors to Russia as I meet them.

Moscow, a City Like No Other

Moscow is Russia’s largest city with a population of between 12 and 13 million. It is also Europe’s largest city and when you visit Moscow, you can feel it. The layout and architecture of the city is eclectic, ranging from crooked, ancient streets and alleyways to wide, bustling boulevards, from medieval churches to Stalin skyscrapers and to modern, glass buildings towering over everything and of course in the center of it all is the Kremlin and the magnificent Red Square. Moscow is also home to a fantastic, efficient and very beautiful metro system – each station having its own special design. In fact, Express to Russia’s Moscow metro tours and excursions are some of our most popular attractions that we offer. On our Moscow tours, you will see this and more.

Moscow Tours centering on Russian History

Moscow has a long and interesting history and has been the capital of Russia in many of its different iterations – capital of the Grand Duchy of Moscow , the Russian Empire and of course the Soviet Union (who could ever forget the Soviet Union?). Moscow, was founded in the 12th century by Prince Yuri Dolgaruki (Yuri of the long arms – he really did have long arms!). From that time on, it was home to the Russian Tsars until Peter the Great moved the capital to St. Petersburg in 1703. The city has survived invasions and sieges from the Mongols, the Tartars, the Poles, Lithuanians and Napoleon but has always persevered. Our Moscow tours will enlighten you on this great history and give you insights into Muscovites and their unique culture. Our Moscow tours show you what the city is like today but also brings to life the past. Moscow never seems to sleep and is bursting with energy. A Moscow tour with Express to Russia is truly the best way of getting to know Russia’s largest and most vibrant city.

Frequently Asked Questions From Our Travelers

What is the best time to visit moscow.

Any time of year is fine depending on what you plan to do. Summertime is pleasantly warm, ideal for exploring the city and its vibrant atmosphere, but Moscow will be much busier and accommodation is more expensive. Winter can be quite cold but beautiful nonetheless, and this is unproblematic if you intend to spend most of your trip in museums and galleries. There are also various festivals and events organised throughout the year. For more information about the best time to visit, read our guide

How many days are enough in Moscow?

If you plan your itinerary strategically and aren’t averse to a packed schedule, you can cover Moscow’s main sights over a long weekend. Most popular attractions are in the city centre, and the Moscow Metro allows you to cover much ground in a small amount of time. Ensure that your accommodation is fairly central and book tickets in advance, so that you can make the most of your days. For an informative and well-organised day out, check out our Moscow day tours with options to suit all interests.

Do they speak English in Moscow?

As Russia’s capital city, tourists are well accommodated in Moscow. There should be English-speaking staff in restaurants, bars, hotels, shops and attractions in tourist hotspots, and there are also English-speaking tourist police. Transport services have English translations on their maps and English announcements via intercom; alternatively, order taxis from the Yandex Taxi app (Russian Uber), though it’s unlikely that your taxi driver will speak English. If you get stuck and cannot communicate, it’s fine to use Google Translate.

Is it safe to travel to Moscow?

It is no less safe to travel to Moscow than to any European city if you exercise common sense and look after your belongings. As with every city some regions can be more unsavoury than others, but no tourist attractions are located there. The traffic in Moscow is notorious, so exercise caution when crossing roads. Do not take unlicensed taxis; book in advance or take public transport, which is widespread and perfectly safe. If you encounter any problems, look for the special tourist police who can help you.
