Hot off the heels of a massive stadium tour with his band Poison, for the first time ever,  Bret Michaels  is   hitting the road for a limited run of live dates for his  2023 Parti Gras Tour.  Michaels has created this tour with a Mardi Gras feel in celebration of his great fans and hit music.   The renowned rockstar will bring a few of his rocker friends along for a mashup of all killer, no filler hits featuring special guests  Night Ranger  and  Jefferson Starship  with special appearances from  Steve Augeri  (former lead singer of Journey) and  Mark McGrath  (Sugar Ray), plus a nightly surprise guest to rock your world. 

Presented by Live Nation, the 12-city limited date run kicks off on Thursday, July 13th at the one and only Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston, MI; known for its epic concerts and parties, going on to make stops across the U.S. including at The Pavilion at Star Lake, in his birthplace of Pittsburgh (PA), Holmdel (NJ), Tinley Park (IL), Tampa (FL), and more before wrapping up in Charlotte (NC) at PNC Music Pavilion on August 6th. The tour promises to be a modern day throwback to epic tailgate parties, positive energy, and a much needed nothing but a good vibe.

Bret Michaels Kicks Off Parti-Gras Tour in Detroit

"Does Bret Michaels know how to throw a party or what?" Mark McGrath asked the audience on the opening night of the Poison  singer's Parti-Gras 2023 tour at the Pine Knob Music Theatre outside of Detroit.

It would be hard to find a question more rhetorical than that.

A Michaels tour with any party reference in its title is as redundant as silicone on spandex. He's been the life of the said party since the cat dragged Poison into the rock scene back in 1986, and all these decades later he remains genuinely dedicated to showing audiences nothin' but a good time.

And that's what he did on Parti-Gras' first night, launching the 12-date tour with a hit-fueled night of music whose energy never flagged over nearly four hours, with a crowd of about 10,000 — most sporting the Mardi Gras beads Michaels' crew distributed before the show — following suit.

"I like to have a great time," Michaels told UCR earlier this year. "I like to party. But what I love most is treating people really great  at  the party. I told everybody individually before any of the agents or managers got involved, I said, 'All killer, no filler.' It's all hits. It's gonna be an ultimate good time."

Those hits came early, too, as Jefferson Starship lifted off with "Find Your Way Back," but spent most of its half hour in the guise of the latter-day Starship, playing '80s hits such as "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now," "Sara" and "We Built This City," in addition to "Jane" and Jefferson Airplane 's "Somebody to Love" — but, interestingly, nothing from the band's '70s heyday. Night Ranger , meanwhile, threw some of singer  Jack Blade 's Damn Yankees into the mix — "Coming of Age" and "High Enough" — amid hits such as "(You Can Still) Rock in America," "Don't Tell Me You Love Me" and "Sister Christian." The troupe also celebrated its 40th anniversary with the song "Night Ranger" from its 1982 debut Dawn Patrol , a near-metallic workout that featured a manic drum solo by Kelly Keagy and some crew friends.

The party raged once Michaels and his six-member band hit the stage for a 100-minute set. "You have no idea how fired up I am. My heart's going!" he declared after opening with a pair of Poison hits, "Talk Dirty to Me" and "Ride the Wind." (The video for the latter song was filmed down the road at Detroit's now-demolished Joe Louis Arena). Michaels also treated it as a kind of homecoming: Poison has played the venue 17 times over the years and ostensibly set a record for the most beer sales during one two-night stand. "I feel like I'm home right now. I feel like I'm in my backyard," he said. Referring to last year's Motor City stop on the Stadium Tour as "one of the best days of my life," he told the Pine Knob fans, "You're taking it up a notch" — and did much the same with his performance.

It wasn't just Michaels, however. Parti-Gras' first night was a case study in playing nice with others (he even left welcome messages on paper plates stuck to everyone's dressing room doors) and incorporating guests into his set. Sugar Ray's Mark McGrath, who sported a Hawaiian-style print shirt and joked about being "the guy who still looks like he frosts his tips," delivered renditions of the band's "Every Morning" (with Michaels on congas) and "Fly." McGrath later joined Michaels for a beefy rendition of Sublime 's "What I Got."

Former Journey singer Steve Augeri was also in the mix, sporting a red jacket and white slacks as he demonstrated his uncanny Steve Perry stylings on "Separate Ways," "Any Way You Want It," a torchy "Faithfully" (Michaels' guitarist Dean Cramer recreated the epic solo) and "Don’t Stop Believin'," whose " city boy born and raised in south Detroit " was a particular crowd pleaser.

For his part, Michaels, decked out in a Parti-Gras tour tank top and five different hats throughout the night, stuck to the Poison playbook, with lead guitarist Pete Evick doing C.C. DeVille's parts proud.

Michaels used "Something to Believe In" to salute military veterans, bringing about a dozen onstage in the middle of the song to be applauded by the crowd. He opened "Unskinny Bop" with a rap and a snippet of  Red Hot Chili Peppers ' "Give It Away," while a sea of cell phone lights illuminated the venue during "Every Rose Has Its Thorn.”

Crew members threw giant beach balls into the pavilion while Michaels sang "Nothin' but a Good Time" with the winner of a "Dress Like Bret" karaoke contest, and the entire cast joined him for an exuberant show-closing romp through Lynyrd Skynyrd 's " Sweet Home Alabama ," trading vocals and guitar solos.

It was another big hit in a night full of them, a fitting close for a party that Michaels told the crowd would repeat in 2024.

Poison singer Bret Michaels has announced the Summer 2023 US “Parti Gras” tour featuring a stacked support cast of Night Ranger, Jefferson Starship, Steve Augeri (ex-Journey), and Mark McGrath (Sugar Ray).

Dates kick off July 13rd in Clarkston, Michigan, and run through August 6th in Charlotte, North Carolina.

A Citi Cardmember ticket pre-sales goes live today (December 5th) at 10 a.m. local time, and a Live Nation pre-sale begins Tuesday (December 6th) at 10 a.m. local time (code: CHEER ). General public sales start Friday (December 9th) at 10 a.m. local time. You can pick up tickets via Ticketmaster .

In addition to the aforementioned support package, a surprise guest will make an appearance each night to “rock your world,” according to the press release. The tour poster emphasizes that each performer will play “all the killer hits, no filler.”

“I created Parti-Gras as a sincere and grateful thank you to the fans, friends, and family who have rocked with me over the years,” Michaels said in a statement. “I promise to deliver positive energy, live, raw, real music, and all the bands will deliver sing-a-long hit after hit songs. Your voice will be hoarse after an epic, big, fun stage show.”

Bret Michaels Announces ‘Parti-Gras’ 2023 Tour With Night Ranger + Jefferson Starship

Bret Michaels knows how to bring the party and next summer the Poison frontman will take music fans back in time by hitting the road with rock legends Night Ranger and Jefferson Starship .

Dubbed the "Parti-Gras" tour, the trek will also feature guest turns by former Journey vocalist Steve Augeri, Sugar Ray frontman Mark McGrath and a still-to-be revealed "nightly surprise" that is guaranteed to rock your world.

Michaels returned to Poison in 2022 as part of the massive Stadium Tour featuring Motley Crue, Def Leppard and Joan Jett, but this time out he's rocking solo within what promises to be a festival-like atmosphere.

Michaels states, “I created Parti-Gras as a sincere and grateful thank you to the fans, friends, and family who have rocked with me over the years. The 12-date trek gets underway July 13 in Clarkston, Michigan, sticking primarily to the Eastern and Midwestern U.S. before wrapping on Aug. 6 in Charlotte, N.C. All the cities, dates and venues for the run are listed below.

Pre-sale ticketing will start tomorrow (Dec. 6) at 10AM local time via Live Nation , with the tickets going on sale to the general public this Friday (Dec. 9) at 10AM local time. There are also VIP Meet & Greet tickets available via Michaels' website .

Hot off the heels of a massive stadium tour with his band Poison, for the first time ever,  Bret Michaels   is hitting the road for a limited run of live dates for his  2023 Parti Gras Tour.  Michaels has created this tour with a  Mardi Gras  feel in celebration of his great fans and hit music. The renowned rockstar will bring a few of his rocker friends along for a mashup of all killer, no filler hits featuring special guests  Night Ranger  and  Jefferson Starship  with special appearances from  Steve Augeri   (former lead singer of Journey) and  Mark McGrath  (Sugar Ray), plus a nightly surprise guest to rock your world.

Presented by Live Nation, the 12-city limited date run kicks off on  Thursday, July 13th  at the one and only Pine Knob Music Theatre in  Clarkston, MI ; known for its epic concerts and parties, going on to make stops across the U.S. including at The Pavilion at Star Lake, in his birthplace of  Pittsburgh  (PA),  Holmdel  (NJ),  Tinley Park  (IL),  Tampa  (FL), and more before wrapping up in  Charlotte  (NC) at PNC Music Pavilion on  August 6th . The tour promises to be a modern day throwback to epic tailgate parties, positive energy, and a much needed nothing but a good vibe.

Trek will be introduced in summer 2023

Bret Michaels has officially announced that his Parti Gras 23 Tour will be hitting 12 US Live Nation amphitheaters next summer. The Poison frontman shared the news on Trunk Nation with Eddie Trunk on Monday (Nov 28th) on SiriusXM’s Faction Talk. He says he curated the event to give fans a unique concert experience that’s never been done before.

“Everything is meant to be a party from the time you get there until you end,” he says. “I created this idea that it is a celebration of the fans, the bands, the music. [There are] no attitudes, no egos, just a whole lot of fun. And we’re going to do a night of all killer no filler.

Michaels has confirmed that the original Jefferson Starship and Night Ranger will open the shows followed by Michaels and his solo band — BMB — performing hits with Sugar Ray’s Mark McGrath, former Journey vocalist Steve Augeri, Night Ranger’s Jack Blades and a variety of other special unannounced guests.

“Whoever wants to come up and join us, but we have special mystery guests,” he states. “Every single night there will be someone on that stage. I can’t tell you exactly who it is, but if you’ve ever looked at everyone who’s been on stage, I’ve had everyone from Jimmy Page to Jimmy Buffett to Paul Stanley, you don’t know who it’s going to be, but we’ll bring someone out and at the end of the night we’re gonna do their song. This is a true give back. I don’t want to say throw back — cause we’re living in the here and now — but it’s a throwback to a great time and a give back to the fans and everyone’s just going to leave there going — hopefully — they’ll remember it and if you remember it, it was awesome. So if you do remember it the next day after a good time, it was an amazing concert.”

The trek is set to kick off July 13th in Detroit with full details and routing to follow. Michaels confirms a stop at PNC Bank Arts Center in New Jersey will feature the stars of Impractical Jokers co-hosting the night. The rocker also hopes to extend the dates beyond the initial 12 already confirmed.

“There’s a lot of independent promoters in there that I want to respect,” he adds. “It just won’t be exactly this version. In different cities, I custom created it for those cities and those shows and it’s going to be unbelievable. I have some country artists on one. You know, I’ve had some big country artists out with us that all of a sudden come out and we’re doing one of their songs. They’re doing ‘Nothin But A Good Time’ or ‘Unbroken’ or a solo song, but no matter what — I want to be the quintessential host. I want people to feel welcomed.”

He continues, “There’s a lot that goes on to make sure that those bands — when you’re live, you gotta make sure they have the right mic, they soundcheck, they feel good, but the one thing I said on this entire tour, I said, no egos, no attitudes — we work with every single person here. I want to try to work together so it’s an incredible show. I designed a stage so everyone has a huge amount of stage room. Every band can use all the sound, all the lights, everything we got, they can have it. The only thing you can’t oversupply is the cryo and the pyro because the tanks run out.”

Michaels says the party will start in the parking lot with people in “tiki hut golf carts” handing out Mardi Gras beads to concertgoers. Inside the venue, there will be various parties and contests, including a Dress Like Bret Contest where the winner will join BMB and special guests on stage to sing “Nothin’ But A Good Time” at the end of the night.

Michaels first teased the “ incredible amphitheater tour ” on Trunk’s show in August. The trek was initially expected to launch this year, but was pushed back due to this year’s launch of The Stadium Tour with Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard and Joan Jett after a two year delay due to the pandemic .

During the November 28th appearance, Michaels also shared that he has a new solo single, “Back in the Day,” coming in mid-January with a video that he’s also directing and co-editing.

“We now are about every two years go back out on the road,” he says of Poison. “I hope to at least if not make a complete album, you know, just go in there and right a song or two together, and just a fun great — I write with the solo band, we write all the time, every day. I’m always dumping music into my phone. I’ll come up with a beat. I’ll be like (beatboxes) always writing something in my head. And I’m hoping with Poison we’ll get to do that. We with the band, Pete [Evick], and myself, wrote a brand new song called ‘Back in the Day.’ It’s just a through back road trip anthem and when people here this, it’s just a great good feeling party song. It’s a great rock song.”

Michaels also reproduced his “Get Your Rock On” solo song as the theme for NFL Network’s Good Morning Football titled “Get Your Game On.”

The two hour conversation also featured acoustic performances by Michaels. Full video of the interview with Michaels will be available on the SiriusXM app in the future.

CONCERT REVIEW: BRET MICHAELS’ Parti-Gras 2023 Tour: All Killer Hits No Filler at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden, NJ (July 23rd, 2023)

If Bret Michaels ‘ is on stage, you can be sure it will be a Rock & Roll Party party! Bret and his band are taking Jefferson Star and Night Ranger across America with his 2023 Parti-Gras Tour . Joining Bret during his set is Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray and Steve Augeri , formerly of Journey , performing some of their band’s signature songs. Together they delivered all killer hits, no filler! The Rock & Roll party rolled into Camden, NJ, at the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion , so leave your troubles in the parking lot and join the party. Bret will be your party host and ringleader like no other for the evening.

The Bret Michael Band [ BMB ] played all of Poison ‘s biggest hits like they were all reborn. They captured the energy, fun, and spirit in which they were written decades ago. His outrageous glam look from the 80s is long gone and replaced with more straightforward black jeans, ripped t-shirts, and cowboy boots. Don’t let this look fool you; he still wears his signature bandana. He also hasn’t slowed down a nanosecond and can still easily deliver a high-octane show.

Bret sang and ran the stage in the sweltering heat while high-fiving fans in the front row and the catwalk continuously. He told the crowd, “It’s your party New Jersey; let’s have some fun!” and then turned up the charm by throwing out smiles and winks to all the ladies. He looked like he was having just as much fun as his fans and infused all his songs with the spirit of a good time.

Steve Augeri came out to sing “Separate Way,” Don’t Stop Believin,” and “Any Way You Want It,” while Mark McGrath performed “Every Morning” and “Fly” with Bret ‘s band. They both sang with heart and soul while intermixed with Poison ‘s songs.

All band members entertained the crowd from every part of the stage on every song. Pete Evick, who has been Bret ‘s right-hand man for 19 years in BMB , is not only his guitarist but also holds down a myriad of other responsibilities, like music director and marketing, to name a few. He played all the songs flawlessly with their unique idiosyncrasy to match the sound and tone of how they were initially recorded. He nailed Poison ‘s songs note-for-song as fans expected it and counted him delivering it. Before the show, I had the chance to ask Pete what was working with Bret really like. He responded, “Bret is my favorite front-man. He has outlasted all front-men from that era and still looks and sounds great while delivering 100% each night. He is as cool as Robert Plant and Steven Tyler . After 19 years, I crack up that I spent 19 years with the definitive 80s rock front-man. I’m the luckiest guy because I get to play with my hero night after night. The way he holds the crowd in his hands is a gift!”

Bret continued to win over the audience in a more striking moment of the show when he recognized the troops at home and aboard, thanking them for their service and allowing us to have our freedom. To celebrate their heroics, 15-20 men and women joined Bret on stage for “Something to Believe In!”

By the time he performed “Every Rose Has It’s Thorn” on his black Dean acoustic guitar, he did indeed have Camden in the palm of his hands. The audience lite-up their iPhones in approval and swayed back and forth to the heartfelt tune that made up their life’s soundtrack.

It was the most energetic and inspiring 90 minutes of pure rock and roll as the band performed all the hits; “Talk Dirty To Me,” “Ride the Wind,” “Your Momma Don’t Dance,” and “Nothin’ But a Good Time.” He closed the show with a monster jam having all the musicians from Jefferson Starship and Night Ranger join in for a killer version of “Sweet Home Alabama.” These are the moments you live for on hot summer nights. It is a fitting tribute to end the night of partying at the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion!

The festival will be held May 4-5 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland.

The festival celebrates the best of 1980s arena rock and heavy metal music. This is the 15th anniversary of the festival.

POISON frontman Bret Michaels has partnered with Live Nation for the second edition of his solo touring festival, "Parti-Gras" . The 2024 trek includes appearances by Don Felder , formerly of THE EAGLES , Lou Gramm of FOREIGNER , Dee Snider of TWISTED SISTER , and Michaels 's good friend and country artist Chris Janson .

Presented by Live Nation , the six-city limited date run of this exact lineup kicks off on July 12 in Noblesville, Indiana, at the Ruoff Music Center, and includes a show Saturday, July 13 in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, as well as Saturday, August 3 in Alpharetta, Georgia, Friday, August 23 in Clarkston, Michigan, Friday, August 24 in Holmdel, New Jersey, and the tour finale on August 31 in Gilford, New Hampshire, at BankNH Pavilion.

Although the Bret Michaels "Parti-Gras" rolls on in many different forms, it will only be at these six specific Live Nation amphitheaters that fans will see this exact lineup together.

Summer Bash bringing Bret Michaels, Jefferson Starship to Gibson City

G IBSON CITY, Ill. (WCIA) — Gibson City’s Summer Bash is heading to their downtown this summer, and will feature some iconic rock musicians.

The fourth annual Summer Bash will be held on Saturday, August 17 at 7 p.m., and is hosted by Gibson Area Hospital and Health Services. The event will be a “Parti-gras” festival with musical performances from rock artists Bret Michaels and Jefferson Starship.

Bret Michaels has sold over 100 million digital records and streams worldwide. His 30-year career has brought well-known songs like “Every Rose Has Its Thorn, “Talk Dirty to Me,” “All I Ever Needed,” and “Something to Believe In.”

70s rock band Jefferson Starship will kick off the concert with hits like “We Built This City,” “Nothing is Going to Stop Us Now,” and more.

General admission is free, though spots closest to the stage must be purchased. These Party Pit tickets will go on sale at 8 a.m. this Friday.
