Biography [ ]

Early life [ ].

Chakotay was born on Trebus in 2329 , the son of a man named Kolopak and a woman named Tananka . By the age of 6 , Chakotay wanted to go against his family traditions and be a paleontologist. ( VOY novel : Pathways ; VOY episode : " One Small Step "; VOY novel : Old Wounds )

Young Chakotay also had an independent nature, and often went exploring on Trebus. In 2341 , Chakotay raided a junkyard on the planet and became trapped in the wreckage of an old shuttle pod; fortunately, he was later rescued. ( VOY novelization : Equinox )

Despite his independent nature, in 2344 and 2345 , Chakotay accompanied his father to Central America on Earth to visit the homelands of their ancestors. During his time there Chakotay learned of the Sky Spirits and began to respect his cultural heritage. ( VOY novel : Pathways ; VOY episode : " Tattoo ")

In 2345, 15-year-old Chakotay was seriously considering entering Starfleet , and often spent time around the Starfleet personnel on the planet, led by Captain Demora Sulu . Sulu sponsored Chakotay's applications into the Academy, but Chakotay had to lie to his father and state that Captain Sulu was a man in order to protect his feelings. ( VOY - Tales from the Captain's Table short story : " Seduced ")

Service in Starfleet [ ]

Starfleet academy [ ].

Thanks to the sponsorship of Captain Sulu, Chakotay entered Starfleet Academy in late 2347. During his first few weeks at the Academy he became friends with Svetlana "Sveta" Korepanova from Ekaterinburg , Russia . He also became unlikely friends with his late-assigned roommate, an unflappably cheerful Bolian named Chert .

At the end of his first year at the Academy, Chakotay considered leaving, and returned to Trebus to undergo his first vision quest using the akoonah . As a result of his vision quest he decided to continue his Academy education.

During his first year at the Academy, Chakotay underwent intensive pilot training in North America . Shortly after, Chakotay underwent training on Venus , and later underwent training for a semester in the asteroid belt located between Mars and Jupiter . ( VOY episodes : " Future's End, Part II ", " Blink of an Eye ")

Also during his time at the Academy, Chakotay became a proficient light-heavyweight boxer, and scored a record of 23 wins and only one loss, which was to a Nausicaan . ( VOY episodes : " The Fight ", " Tsunkatse ")

Early career [ ]

Chakotay graduated from the Academy in 2351 . By 2353 he served aboard the USS Vico , as an aide to Captain Roger Hackney and held the rank of lieutenant . It was aboard the Vico that Chakotay had his first encounter with a Cardassian warship that had violated the Federation border. ( VOY novel : Pathways )

At some point, Chakotay began serving on the USS Heritage . A female officer named Grant was the first officer . During this time, Chakotay and Grant began a romantic relationship, one which Grant noted in Chakotay's Starfleet file. In 2375 , the crew of the USS Voyager held a "roast" of Chakotay for his birthday. Parts of his Starfleet record were read aloud, including Grant's note about their relationship. ( VOY short story : " Isabo's Shirt ")

In 2362 , Chakotay transferred to the USS Gage . He stayed aboard the Gage for four years of conflict with the Cardassians. Following the end of the Federation-Cardassian War , Chakotay was granted an extended leave on Trebus.

By 2368 , Lieutenant commander Chakotay was serving aboard the USS Gettysburg , under the command of Captain Madolyn Gordon . ( VOY novel : Pathways )

In March that year, Chakotay decided to resign his commission, so upon his return to Earth he handed his resignation into Admiral Nimembeh at Starfleet Headquarters. He returned home to Trebus. ( VOY episode : " In the Flesh ")

The Maquis [ ]

In early 2370 , Chakotay visited his old Academy friend Sveta on Bajor . Sveta informed Chakotay that there was a new resistance group against the Federation-Cardassian Treaty of 2370 called the Maquis . Sveta requested that Chakotay join this group and help defend his colony and others that found themselves in the Demilitarized Zone , and subject to Cardassian rule. He supported the group, but needed time to consider his options.

A few weeks later, Chakotay's life was changed forever when his village on Trebus was destroyed by a Cardassian thermalite weapon. He joined the Maquis , and was placed in command of a ship dubbed the Liberty . One of his first contacts in the Maquis is a Bajoran woman named Seska , who Chakotay became very close to. A few weeks later, Chakotay rescued B'Elanna Torres from a Bolian freighter that had been attacked by Gul Tancret and the Cardassians. After saving her, Chakotay took her to Riva Prime and Torres joined the Maquis and became the chief engineer aboard the Liberty . (VOY book Pathways , VOY episode : " In the Flesh ")

Around stardate 47582 , Chakotay and Torres encountered the Cardassian prototype weapon, Dreadnought in the Badlands . While the self-guided weapon was meant to destroy a Maquis weapons base, Torres reprogrammed the torpedo to attack a Cardassian planet. ( VOY episode : " Dreadnought ")

A few weeks later, the Liberty was destroyed, but all crewmembers managed to survive. Shortly after, his team managed to salvage an old fighter from a Federation surplus depot and they name the ship Geronimo . The Geronimo herself was lost in 2371 , after she was destroyed by Tharia ch'Ren , a former crewmember who had seized control of the third Malkus Artifact . Thankfully, Chakotay and his crew were rescued by Cal Hudson . ( VOY - The Brave and the Bold, Book Two novella : The Third Artifact )

Following this event, Chakotay was given command of the Peregrine -class fighter Spartacus . In early 2371, the Spartacus discovered the plague-ridden planet Helena in the Demilitarized Zone . Chakotay's crew, along with Lieutenant Thomas Riker , succeeded in defeating the disease, and the mixed-race inhabitants of the planet. ( TNG - Double Helix novel : Quarantine )

A few weeks later, Chakotay assumed command of a Ju'day -class fighter, the Val Jean . He was to lead a large Maquis task force from the base on the Terikof belt to attacked the Cardassian Montee Fass shipyards in the Oliv system . However, plasma storm activity in the Badlands forced the attack to be called off, but instead they launched an attack on Opek Nor and succeeded in destroying the station.

The Val Jean was pursued by the Galor -class vessel Vetar , under the command of Gul Aman Evek , into the Badlands, where she was disabled in the plasma storms. Captain Chakotay didn't get to savor his victory, as shortly after his vessel was hit by a displacement wave created by the Caretaker , to carry them off to the Delta Quadrant . ( VOY - The Brave and the Bold, Book Two novella : The Third Artifact ; VOY episode : " Caretaker ")

Shortly after their arrival in the Delta Quadrant, Chakotay and his crew were transported to the Caretaker's Array , and examined for the viability to act as the Caretaker 's successor. Three weeks later, the USS Voyager was transported to the quadrant and was similarly examined. For the sake of finding a way to return to the Alpha Quadrant , Chakotay teamed up with Captain Kathryn Janeway . In the battle with the Kazon around the Array, Chakotay sacrificed the Val Jean to destroy the lead Kazon ship, and he and his crew beamed over to Voyager . When Captain Janeway decided to destroy the Array to save the Ocampa , Chakotay supported her decision and the former Maquis joined Janeway's crew with Chakotay serving as her first officer . ( VOY episode : " Caretaker ").

Initially, Chakotay had a difficult job of trying to merge his former crew to the crew of Voyager . In the first weeks, B'Elanna Torres and Joe Carey were competing for the chief engineer 's job, which at one point came to punches. The situation was resolved and Torres became chief engineer. Several of his former crew had immense problems assimilating, and upon Chakotay's suggestion, they underwent a crash course in Academy training from Lieutenant Tuvok . ( VOY episodes : " Parallax ", " Learning Curve ")

Return to Earth [ ]

Chakotay finally returned to Earth at the end of 2377 when Voyager traveled inside a Borg sphere through a transwarp conduit into the Alpha Quadrant . ( VOY episode : " Endgame ")

Chakotay became captain of the prototype starship, USS Protostar . Chakotay and the Protostar 's crew had dissapeared by the year 2383 when the Protostar was found on Tars Lamora . ( PRD episode : " Kobayashi ")

25th century [ ]

In a 2385 interview with Jake Sisko , Annika Hansen said that Captain Chakotay was one of the people who inspired her to join Starfleet because of their "honor and competence." When asked whether she maintained contact with him, Hansen responded that she did not understand the question's relevance.

By 2401 , Chakotay has reached the rank of admiral . He was one of a few Starfleet officers that asked the Federation Council to reconsider the decision not to get involved in the Klingon-Gorn War . He predicted a long war in the future and the Klingons were right about the Undine threat.

He participated in the 2404 opening of the Alpha Centauri system transwarp hub. Two years later , Chakotay was promoted to head of Starfleet Intelligence . He promised more accountability and to be open in the posting. One of his earliest briefings involved him admitting the belief that at least 30 Undine infiltrators were in high-level posts and Starfleet. ( ST website  : The Path to 2409 )

Alternate timelines [ ]

In an alternate timeline in which the USS Voyager was forced to turn back from its journey home to Earth, Chakotay became a statesman in the Vostigye Union . He and Kathryn Janeway became lovers and would eventually have a child, Shannon Sekaya Janeway . ( VOY - Myriad Universes - Infinity's Prism novella : Places of Exile )

In an alternate timeline created by Wesley Crusher in which the Maquis never existed, Chakotay did not resign his Starfleet commission and was serving as the first officer of the USS Lakota under Captain Erika Benteen in 2373 . ( TNG short story : " Gods, Fate, and Fractals ")

In another alternate timeline, Chakotay became the captain of Voyager after Janeway was killed in a Krenim attack in 2373 . He was still in command of the ship in 2379 . ( VOY episode : " Before and After ")

Robert Beltran is known for his role as Commander Chakotay on the cult-favorite 1990s show Star Trek: Voyager, but the actor had a string of credits to his name before appearing on the hit show.

The California-born actor shared the screen early on with legendary Chuck Norris, but where is he now? Keep reading to find out!

Beltran attended East Bakersfield High School, followed by Bakersfield College, and then graduated from California State University, Fresno , with a degree in Theater Arts.

The actor told the Latin Post this about his childhood, ‘Although we didn’t have a lot of money when I was growing up, we had a really good time. We had a lot of fun.”

Criticisms of the show

Robert Beltran - Star Trek Voyager

Unfortunately, fans didn’t feel the love for Beltran’s character, with some fans saying they didn’t appreciate the stereotypical Native American story lines and felt producers misrepresented his character.

Robert was also vocal about his feelings toward his character and expressed his disdain for how Commander Chakotay was represented. Robert, as well as many fans of the show felt his character was under-utilized and had no meaningful interactions beyond that of his scenes with Kate Mulgrew’ character.

He has said jokingly that Voyager was “punishment for everything in my life up till that point.”

Unfortunately, producers proceeded to give Beltran’s character less screen time, which led Beltran to attempt to get fired from the show by asking for more money.

Still, the show met his demands to keep his character until the show ended. Ultimately, Beltran stayed on until the series went off the air in 2001.

Early life [ ]

Robert Beltran is the son of Mexican-American immigrants and was born in Bakersfield, California. He attended East Bakersfield High School and Bakersfield College. He came from a large family of ten children (two sisters and seven brothers). One of his younger brothers is Latin Jazz musician Louie Cruz Beltran .

During his early life, Beltran held a number of jobs which he later described as "hard", including a cotton picker, tomato plant grower, janitor, and working at a Wienerschnitzel .

Acting career [ ]

He had already gained a certain degree of fame long before coming aboard Voyager . In 1982, in only his second film appearance, he starred as the titular character in the dark comedy Eating Raoul . Written and directed by Paul Bartel and also featuring appearances by future Star Trek: Deep Space Nine guest actor Hamilton Camp and future Voyager guest star Ed Begley, Jr. , the voyeuristic Raoul has become a cult favorite. The film also starred Ralph Brannen . Beltran went on to have several lead roles in other films throughout the rest of the 1980s, no doubt as a result of his role as Raoul.

Beltran made his film debut with a small role in the 1981 film Zoot Suit , also featuring Tony Plana and Kurtwood Smith . In 1983, he went on to co-star opposite action superstars Chuck Norris and David Carradine in Lone Wolf McQuade . By the following year, however, he was being offered lead roles. He starred in the Night of the Comet (1984), which has also reached cult status. In 1985, he starred in Latino , produced by George Lucas, which also featured his fellow Zoot Suit actor Tony Plana.

Beltran also starred in several made-for-TV movies. Among these were 1984's The Mystic River , co-starring Nick Ramus and Ron Soble , and 1986's The Family Martinez , co-starring Denise Crosby .

By 1987, however, Beltran was back to playing supporting roles. That year, he co-starred with fellow Star Trek alumni Rosalind Chao , Herta Ware , and John Fleck in the film Slam Dance . That same year, he had a supporting role in Gaby: A True Story , co-starring Lawrence Monoson .

In 1989, Beltran reteamed with his Eating Raoul director, Paul Bartel, for another dark comedy, Scenes from the Class Struggle in Beverly Hills . Ed Begley, Jr. and Wallace Shawn also had roles in this film. Beltran also co-starred with Cliff DeYoung in Forbidden Sun that same year and then 1990's To Die Standing .

Beltran played the title role of El Diablo (1991, co-starring Deep Space Nine guest star John Glover and Star Trek: Enterprise actor Jim Beaver ). That same year, Beltran again co-starred with Tony Plana in Veronica Clare Also in 1991, Beltran appeared in Bugsy , which also featured Star Trek: The Next Generation guest star Bebe Neuwirth .

Afterward, Beltran appeared primarily in TV movies, including State of Emergency , with Paul Dooley and Richard Beymer , in 1994. Also in that year, Beltran guest starred in an episode of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman , starring Teri Hatcher ; Star Trek: The Next Generation guest star Chris Demetral guest-starred in the same episode. Just before landing his starring role on Voyager , Beltran played the recurring role of Detective Louis Soto on the Melrose Place spin-off Models Inc. in episodes with Victor Bevine , Randy Oglesby , Cristine Rose , and Margot Rose . Later in 1994 , Beltran was cast as Chakotay in Star Trek: Voyager .

Voyager and afterwards [ ]

Since Voyager first aired, Beltran has only appeared in one other major feature film. He played one of the Watergate burglars in Nixon (1995), chronicling the fall of US President Richard M. Nixon . Trek alumni such as Tony Plana, Saul Rubinek , and Paul Sorvino also had roles in this film.

While still filming Voyager in 2000, Beltran co-starred opposite future Star Trek: Enterprise star Scott Bakula in the independent film Luminarias , based on the play of the same name. He also voiced Commander Chakotay in the video game Star Trek: Voyager - Elite Force .

After Voyager ended in 2001 , Beltran worked in the TV movie Manticore , in which he co-stars with DS9 actress Chase Masterson . He was next seen in TV's Fire Serpent for the Sci-Fi Channel , written by Garfield and Judith Reeves-Stevens . In March of 2007, Beltran made an appearance on the NBC series Medium . His upcoming credits include the Sci-Fi Channel TV movie Cry of the Winged Serpent and the comic film Taking Chances .

Beltran, like Enterprise actress Jolene Blalock , was infamous for his outspoken views on how his series was progressing. He once remarked in an interview that he thought Star Trek: Voyager was " punishment for everything in my life up till that point. Thanks, dear Lord for the… uh, Star Trek gig. " [1] His outbursts against the series became so great that executive producer Kenneth Biller said in late 2000 , " I think Robert Beltran should stop whining and do his job… print that if you want! " [2] Despite this, he won a Golden Eagle Award as Outstanding Actor in a Television Series for his role as Chakotay in 1997 and had also been nominated for two ALMA Awards.

After Voyager ended, Beltran had a recurring role as Native American casino promoter Jerry Flute on the HBO series Big Love . Charles Esten , Raphael Sbarge and Noa Tishby have also made appearance on Big Love .

In 2009, Beltran released a video on YouTube, saying " I busted my ass off for seven years playing Chakotay… on Voyager . Having to work with Tim Russ and Ethan Phillips , you have no idea how difficult that is. And Bob Picardo walking around going 'I'm signing autographs!' " The video was a joke video made by Robert Beltran and a Star Trek fan, capitalizing on his outspoken views to get Star Trek fans in particular to attend a new performance that was opening that month. [3]

In August 2021 , Beltran announced that he was working on Star Trek: Prodigy . [4]

  • Trivia When auditioning for the part of the holographic doctor, Robert Picardo was asked to say the line "Somebody forgot to turn off my program." He did so, then ad-libbed "I'm a doctor, not a light bulb" and got the part.
  • Goofs There is speculation that the way the Ocampa are shown to have offspring is an impossible situation, as a species where the female can only have offspring at one event in her life would half in population every generation, even if every single member had offspring. While Ocampa females can only become pregnant once in their lifetime, if was never stated how many children could be born at one time. Kes mentions having an uncle, implying that multiple births from one pregnancy are possible.

Seven of nine’s worst voyager relationship explained by star trek actors.

Seven and Chakotay's romance never worked in Star Trek: Voyager and Jeri Ryan and Robert Beltran have been vocal about why their love story failed.

  • The romantic relationship between Seven of Nine and Commander Chakotay in Star Trek: Voyager was poorly handled, leaving many fans unsatisfied.
  • The actors, Jeri Ryan and Robert Beltran, both expressed their dissatisfaction with the abrupt and underdeveloped pairing of their characters.
  • The missed opportunity to further explore the romance between Seven and Chakotay ultimately diminished its impact and left it forgotten in subsequent Star Trek series.

The controversial romantic relationship between Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) and Commander Chakotay (Robert Beltran) has been explained by the two Star Trek: Voyager actors. Seven and Chakotay were romantically paired together in Voyager season 7, which felt like a rehash of the hasty pairing of Lt. Worf (Michael Dorn) and Counselor Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis) in Star Trek: The Next Generation . The abrupt means of Seven and Chakotay's pairing, and the mishandling of their romantic relationship failed to win over many Voyager fans at the time or since the final season aired.

Both Jeri Ryan and Robert Beltran have spoken about the issues with the romantic relationship between their respective Star Trek: Voyager characters . In the book The Fifty-Year Mission: The Next 25 Years: From The Next Generation to J. J. Abrams: The Complete, Uncensored, and Unauthorized Oral History of Star Trek by Edward Gross and Mark A. Altman, Jeri Ryan and Robert Beltran reflected on the problems with their romantic pairing. Read the actors' thoughts below:

Robert Beltran : They had flirted with a Chakotay/Janeway possibility for way too long at the beginning, and so who was left but me and some ensign or me and maybe Seven of Nine? So they just kind of threw us together, and it seemed to me that if they had been thinking instead of one episode after the other, but thinking in the long run, what great stuff they could have written preparing for that.
Jeri Ryan: So we’d already established that Seven is in love with him or had fallen in love with him, and the very next episode we shot after that had Seven and Chakotay getting stranded on some planet. We went to the producers and said, “Okay, is something going to happen? Are we playing this through?” And they all said, “No, don’t play any of that; that was just one episode.” That was a little weird, but we never played it. Then, all of a sudden, we’re back together at the end for the finale.

Why Seven and Chakotay's Star Trek: Voyager Romance Never Worked

Jeri Ryan and Robert Beltran are absolutely right about the issues with Seven and Chakotay's Star Trek: Voyager romance. As Jeri Ryan points out in The Fifty-Year Mission , Seven's attraction to Chakotay had already been established in the Voyager episode "Human Error." When it was established that the emotion of a romantic relationship would overwhelm her Borg circuits, the potential pairing between Seven and Chakotay was abandoned. As a result, it always felt that Star Trek: Voyager 's finale resurrected the Seven and Chakotay romance as a means to add some tragedy to the alternate future in which the tragic couple had both perished.

Rather than being a well-thought-out means to develop Seven's character arc, the doomed romance with Chakotay played out off-screen to inspire Admiral Kathryn Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) to change history. If the writers had spent the eight episodes between "Human Error" and "Endgame" developing the romance between Seven and Chakotay then it would have had a much bigger impact on the Star Trek: Voyager finale. Instead, it's largely been forgotten about, having been ignored by Chakotay's storyline in Star Trek: Prodigy and Seven's arc in Star Trek: Picard .

How do I get from Moscow airports to the city center?

chicote voyager

Moscow with its more than twelve million inhabitants has three international airports. The best known is Sheremetyevo (international abbreviation SVO), which is 35 km northwest of Red Square. Russia’s largest airline Aeroflot has its hub here. The second largest airport, Domodedovo (international abbreviation DME), is about 45 km south-east of the center, from where the S7 airline, which mainly flies within Russia, and numerous international airlines such as Lufthansa take off and land. Finally, there is the third largest airport called Moscow-Wnukovo (abbreviation VKO), which serves numerous low-cost airlines such as Pobeda and is the closest to Moscow city center at just under 30 km.

Aeroexpress to the city center

First the good news – all three airports are easy to reach, both by taxi and by public transport such as train and bus. All three airports are connected to the Moscow city center by means of the so-called Aeroexpress. The Aeroexpress is certainly the most popular and the easiest way for foreigners to get to the center of Moscow. With the striking red signs Aeroexpress, you can find the way to the express trains both at Moscow’s three major airports and at the respective departure stations.

The modern, wifi-equipped trains from the private provider have little in common with the city railway trains from the Russian capital, which still originate from the Soviet era, and run to all three airports from early morning until after midnight. The schedule varies from airport to airport and time of day. As a rule of thumb, trains go to Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo every half an hour during the day to and from the airport, while Wnukowo is only served hourly for much of the day.

The same pricing scheme applies to all three airports: at 300 rubles (around $ 4.50) for a one-way trip, the prices for the trip are significantly more expensive than regular public transport tickets in Moscow, but are still affordable. Sheremetyevo and Vnukovo are each around 35 minutes from the center, and Domodedovo Airport is 45 minutes away.

chicote voyager

If you buy the ticket in advance or via the app, there is a 50 ruble discount, further discounts are available if you book a return trip with one ticket, which costs 600 rubles (around $ 8.50). When it comes to value for money, the Aeroexpress trains are certainly the best option as a solo traveler. Especially since bypassing the often treacherous Moscow traffic – in the rush hour a drive by car can take an hour longer than previously estimated.

The biggest disadvantage is that you can of course not go directly to the desired destination within Moscow. However, all three Aeroexpress trains take you to one of the major Moscow train stations, which in turn are connected to the ring line of the Moscow Metro, from where you can quickly reach all corners of the center of Moscow.

Transport connections

  • Sheremetyevo Airport -> Belorussky Vokzal (journey time 35 minutes)
  • Domodedovo -> Paveletsky Vokzal (journey time 45 minutes)
  • Wnukowo -> Kiewsky Vokzal (travel time 35 minutes)

Prices (apply to all three airports in the city and to the airport):

  • One-way ticket at the counter = 300 rubles
  • Online ticket = 300 rubles
  • Round trip = 600 rubles
  • Tickets for 10 trips = 2,300 rubles
  • Ticket Business Class = 800 rubles

In the city or to the airport by taxi app

Alternatively, the transport from and to the airport can also be regulated using the taxi app. Yandex-Taxi and Gett are the two most popular providers in Moscow. At Yandex the flat rate to all three international airports currently costs 1100 rubles ($ 16) and at Gett even only 950 rubles ($ 14) in the cheapest variant, with a small car of the size VW Polo or Ford Focus.

Unless you want to go to the airport with too much luggage or with more than two people, this is certainly the easiest method. Moderate surcharges are required for larger vehicle categories. Without knowledge of Russian, however, it would be much easier to get to the airport by taxi app than from the airport to the city. Due to the confusing location in front of the three major airports, it may be necessary to contact the driver by phone to find the right vehicle. Because the GPS signal of the respective app only gives the location with an accuracy of about ten to fifteen meters – with several lanes running side by side in front of the terminal and dozens of waiting passengers and arriving taxis, it is certainly not always easy to find yourself straight away.

If you are still dependent on the WiFi of the airport building and therefore must not move too far from the entrance, the whole thing could prove to be difficult. From the city to the airport, however, the taxi app without knowledge of Russian proves to be the much easier method. The hotel or AirBnB address can be entered as the pick-up location, and a taxi can usually be ordered within a few minutes.

With the classic taxi into the city

If you want to drive into the city by regular taxi, you have to expect considerable additional costs. The website of Domodedovo airport gives 2,000 rubles as a guide for a trip to the center, i.e. just $ 28. Trips to and from Vnukovo and Sheremetyevo should be a little cheaper. As with the taxi apps, the following also applies here: Especially at rush hour, you should probably prefer the train because Moscow’s streets burst at the seams in the after-hours traffic.

Bus metro combination

For experienced travelers to Russia or visitors with a particularly tight budget, there is still the option of all three airports to get to the nearest metro station by bus or Marshrutka (mini-bus with a fixed route but flexible stops).

From Vnukowo, for example, the 45M minibus line goes to the Yugo-Zapadnaya metro station on the red line № 1 of the Moscow Metro, for just 150 rubles. Together with the 62 rubles ticket for the metro, you can get into the city for just over $ 3.

Sheremetyevo Airport can be reached from the Rechnoy Vokzal metro station on Marshrutka line 949 for 80 rubles, or from Planernaya metro station with Marshrutka 948 for 80 rubles ($ 1.1). The minibuses run approximately every 15 minutes. Domodedovo Airport is connected by express bus to the metro station of the same name every half hour. The fare here is 150 rubles (a good 2,1 $). However, complications must be expected with this transport route – the bus drivers in Moscow usually only speak Russian. Taking the metro or minibuses with luggage is not always comfortable. However, you can save money, especially as a solo traveler.
