The Harz mountains are the biggest bike paradise in Northern Germany: the VOLKSBANK ARENA HARZ consists of 74 routes totalling 2,300 km in length and with 50,000 vertical metres of climbing. The Harz mountain bike routes are accessible from the 31 starting points.

You can set off on one of the MTB routes from 31 towns in the Harz between Bad Grund and Neustadt, Goslar and Bad Sachsa. Here you will find plenty of service for cyclists, mountain-bike-friendly accommodation, exciting MTB race events, bike parks and MTB guides who will take you on a tour. Have fun in the Harz!!

Information

Safety for mountain bikers is of paramount importance here in the Harz. You can help by having the right clothing and well-maintained equipment. Always keep your bike under control - there could be an unexpected hazard around the next corner! Just in case something does happen, the forestry offices in the Harz have set up a comprehensive network of numbered emergency location points so that the rescue services can find you quickly and easily.

In many places, bike shops, tour guides or training courses complement the Harz mountain bike region and what it has to offer for this wonderful outdoor sport. In the cycling season from April to October it is also possible to rent mountain bikes and eBikes (pedelecs) at many locations – in some places even fat bikes for biking fun in winter.

Fritz Geers is one of the best local guides when it comes to mountainbiking in the Harz mountains. Years of experience from hundreds of thousands of kilometers in the Harz mountains and professional mountainbike guiding characterize the offer of the young extreme-sports athlete. The multi-day mountainbike camp is his comprehensive guiding offer for mountainbike groups visiting the Harz Mountains. It includes several days full of trail fun and also support for planning and organizing a trip to the Harz mountains. All routes are individually planned through the mining landscape of the Harz mountains. As an option, a basic technique training or a extensive leadership training for companies can be offered. The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.

Opened in 1935, Moscow’s underground system, now 190 miles (305 km) long with 185 stations, is today one the largest and most heavily used rapid transit systems in the world. Getting around by metro, your local guide will take you through parts of Moscow’s infamous history.
