Docked at Indian Ranch, The Indian Princess is a modern day replica of the grand riverboats that plied the Mississippi River in the late 19th century. Cruising out of Webster, MA, she is one of the few authentic paddlewheel riverboats still in operation in the United States today. In keeping with early traditions, she was built with stern wheels that are her only means of propulsion. The Indian Princess has split stern wheels each ran by a twin diesel engine that powers hydraulic motors to turn the paddles. This is in contrast to most Mississippi River paddle wheelers in operation today that have a “freewheeling” paddle wheel at the stern of the boat for the visual effect but have traditional screw type engines hidden for their real means of propulsion.

There are two decks aboard the Indian Princess to enjoy while on her cruises, the open-air upper deck, which is partially covered by a canopy, and the climate-controlled Princess Dining Room on the lower deck. In the Princess Dining Room, there is also a full bar, the galley, two heads, and a 42” flat screen TV. There’s no need to worry that you’ll miss the beautiful views from below, as the dining room is lined with large windows, including a window behind the bar allowing you to see the red paddle wheels working their magic. The Indian Princess has been inspected by the U.S Coast Guard and her official capacity is 125 people.

In addition to public cruises, the Indian Princess can be chartered for private occasions such as weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, corporate parties, and memorials. You can rent just the boat with crew or work hand-in-hand with the event coordinator, who can help with planning every aspect of the occasion. The boat can be privately booked for any day and can be rented for 2 to 3 hours at a time.

The Indian Princess was built in 2000 by Skipperliner Industries in La Crosse, WI, and originally ran under the name La Crosse Queen V. For five years, Skipperliner used the boat as a display and then as one of their daily cruise boats that went down the Mississippi River.

In 2005, Watts Bar Riverboat Company, out of Kingston, TN, purchased the La Crosse Queen V paddlewheeler and renamed her Watts Bar Belle. She ran on the Watts Bar Lake until December of 2008 when the horrible toxic coal ash spill from the Kingston Fossil Plant sent one billion gallons of toxic materials into the Watts Bar Lake and surrounding waters. This spill brought the riverboat business to a standstill and the Watts Bar Riverboat Company would and could not even start the engines of the boat, as water from the lake was used to cool its engines and a generator. The riverboat was safely moved to Lenoir City, TN in 2009. However, the company was unable to generate the following it had in Kingston leading it to put the Watts Bar Belle up for sale in 2011.

It was in 2011 that the Watts Bar Belle riverboat was purchased by Webster Ventures and renamed her the Indian Princess. The Indian Princess was docked in Fort Myers Beach in April of 2012. She left for her journey to Webster, MA in April of 2013. She now hosts tours of Webster Lake that leave from Indian Ranch.

Fort Cochin, Cochin

Chinese Fishing Nets

When you arrive in Cochin, you will notice the Chinese fishing nets. Standing 10 meters high and made from bamboo, these nets were thought to have been introduced to the area by Zheng He, a Chinese explorer. As one of Cochin's most recognizable sights, these nets were first installed between the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries.

The Chinese fishing nets are still in use today. Visitors can purchase seafood in the late afternoon when the nets come down, and have it cooked on the spot. If you can, spend an evening taking in a stunning Indian sunset while enjoying a succulent dinner that's fresh from the Arabian Sea.

Celebrated a friends birthday on a cloudy Friday evening. Eight of us sat on the upper deck and had a nice view of the lake and surrounding area. One and a half hour trip was just enough time to have a couple of drinks and enjoy the scenery. Our captain pointed out a few landmarks and items of interest along the way. No food was available and drinks were fairly inexpensive ($50 for 6 alcoholic beverages).

Indian Princess Cruises 100 FM The Pike Boat Scootin Boogie Cruise hosted by Chuck Perks: July 15, 2023. You need to get to boat way early to get a seat on top in the air. Below deck WAS NOT air conditioned as advertised, it was a sweat shop. You can buy alcohol but there are no snacks for purchase. The lake is beautiful and a unique experience. The Pike gave away a couple t-shirts and concert tickets. Only first 12 people got a country boot necklace. Dumb.

We went for the 90 minute cruise only---no live music or food service (snacks only, which, I thought, were very reasonably priced). Comfortable seating with many tables available on both the top and lower decks (first come, first serve seating). We enjoyed our cruise although it was completely cloudy and extremely humid the day we went. The captain was amusing and informative. This would be a nice venue for a family reunion, etc. FYI: They are working on a new waterfront restaurant (with a large patio) near the Princess' launching point at Indian Ranch. We may return for a more elaborate cruise sometime (dinner?).

The food was ok. The space on the boat is VERY limited and I felt like we were packed on like sardines. Not to mention, they took your tickets before you got on the boat. So it is super packed, and noone seemed to know where they were supposed to sit. Definitely need a better system to let folks board and sit. It took forever to get everyone through the buffet line as there was just the one for the whole boat. FYI, they started with the folks on the top deck. It is advertised with entertainment, but if you sit inside, there is none. You cannot hear the band unless you sit up top. While there were TVs inside the cabin, they weren't on. So for the folks inside, there was no entertainment other than watching everyone go up to the buffet line before you. It was also extremely hot inside which was advertised as an air conditioned area. The views were lovely however. But, the Indian Princess has nothing to do with that. I could have had just as much fun sitting at Memorial Beach. Too bad. I am a big fan of Indian Ranch. I really think that they need to get their act together on the Princess.

Always enjoy my rides on the Indian Princess. Yes, it can get crowded. But show up early and wait to board. It will be worth the wait. The staff are pleasant and helpful, the Captain is entertaining. I have been lucky to have nice weather every time I have cruised.

Authentic (and relatively new) paddlewheel boat cruises Webster Lake- Massachusetts' largest - for about an hour and a half. Canopied upper deck means you get a good amount of breeze and shade on the water, or sit downstairs in the beautiful enclosed cabin with a small bar and windows looking out on the paddlewheel. A great morning or evening boat cruise with the friendly crew, and humorous and entertaining occasional narration by the affable captain topped it off.

Cruised the Indian Princess. The tickets were $50 each for the "Magaritiville" cruise. Food included cheese, crackers, assorted fruit and other appetizers. It was mediocre at best. The entertainment was 3 musicians who basically did karaoke versions of Jimmy Buffett and others. They did their best to wow the crowd. Most of the people on board seemed to know each other and they really had a good time. A gentleman passed out light up rings to most of the female guests, particularly the crowd of "lake people". However, he did NOT include other women. Was this an oversight? I think not, because he walked around several times and decided Who would receive the rings. Not a big deal ( the rings probably cost next to nothing) Except it was obvious there were favorites on this cruise. Some people were able to board before the crowd of folks in the line. We arrived at 5:50 for the cruise and the line had already formed. Others arrived later and just got on board. This is my 6th time on to boat. I never saw others boarding ahead of the sectioned off line before this cruise. There was no narration of the lake. Probably because most on board already lived there. My recommendation is, if you decide to go for a cruise on "The Indian Princess" , go for the $20 lake cruise and save your money by not going on the $50 "Margaritaville" version

Margaritaville cruise this past Thursday was alot of fun. Entertainment was by Tom Revane, Bongo Johnny and Joe...they had the whole upper deck guests singing and dancing. Indian Princess crew and Captain are great people. The ticket price included food by Bistro Eighty Ates...the buffet and waitress served apps were delicious. Highly recommend getting your friends and family together for one of music event cruises or just a regular cruise of beautiful Webster Lake. You might even be lucky enough to see the bald eagles living on one of the islands.

It is not unusual to see manatees, Dolphins, Otters and many other native animals. Our cruises include the North Fork, South Fork and Intercoastal. Our Captain will pick you up at the restaurant where you can enjoy your drinks while watching the day coming to an end. What a relaxing ending to a wonderful evening! The whole trip was amazing...from seeing dolphins and ospreys to the amazing homes along the river and even a bonus private concert clip from Scotty Emerick. He got us amazing views of the sunset, and he even recommended a really good restaurant that we tried and loved. Highly recommend the sunset cruise, you will love it! -James B

Wonderful Sightseeing Cruise

Topnotch tour with Captain Kirby!

Enjoyable, relaxing and mobility friendly!

Had a very enjoyable and relaxing 90 minute ride around some of the Indian River Lagoon. Capt had lots of info on the waterway, wildlife, and area developments. Also got some local dining recommendations that we are looking forward to trying out. One important note; as a person who has mobility issues, the pick up area is very close to parking so getting to and from the boat and car were very easy. The boat itself was open and easy to get around in. I would recommend this for people who have these sort of challenges. -Timothy M

Lots of Fun for an Inexpensive Price!

I took an afternoon dolphin sightseeing cruise with my family while visiting Vero Beach and had a great time. The boat was comfortable, has shade, and you can bring your own drinks and beer! Captain Kirby gave us lots of history and interesting facts about Vero Beach and the surrounding area. We cruised through the bay and saw lots of dolphins on our trip. We sailed through the rich and famous area admiring all the mansions and million dollar boats on the water. Lots of fun for an inexpensive price. Highly recommended! -Susannah R

Moscow is a Volga River cruise port, Russia's capital and largest city (population over 12,2 million, metro 17 million). Moscow City covers a total area of approx 2610 km 2 (970 mi2). By population, the city is ranked the world's 14th largest. Moscow is one of the Russian Federation's all 3 federal cities - together with St Petersburg and Sevastopol .

Being Russian Federation's capital, Moscow is a major economic, political, scientific and cultural center, as well as Europe's biggest city.

According to Forbes 2013, Moscow has been ranked as the 9th most expensive city in the world by Mercer and has one of the largest urban economies, being ranked as an alpha global city according to Globalization and World Cities Research Network. It is also one of the fastest-growing tourist destinations in the world according to MasterCard Global Destination Cities Index. Moscow is the northernmost and the coldest megacity and metropolis on the Earth. It's home to Ostankino Tower, the tallest free-standing European structure; the Federation Tower, the tallest European skyscraper; and the Moscow International Business Center. 

Moscow is situated on Moskva River in the Central Federal District of European Russia, which makes it the most populated inland city in the world. Moscow city is well known for architecture, particularly its historic buildings like Saint Basil's Cathedral. With over 40% of its territory covered by greenery, it's one of the greenest capitals and major cities in Europe and the world. Moscow is the seat of power of the Russian Government, being the site of Moscow Kremlin, a medieval city-fortress that is now the residence of the President of Russia. Moscow Kremlin and Red Square are among the several World Heritage Sites in the city. 

Moscow has 2 passenger terminals, North River Terminal (Rechnoy vokzal) and South River Terminal. The regular ship routes and cruises along Moskva and Oka rivers are used mostly for entertainment. North River Terminal (1937-built) is currently the main hub for long-range routes along the river. There are 3 freight ports that serve Moscow.

In late-July 2021 the city announced plans to incorporate a fleet (unspecified number) of fully electric passenger ferries into its public transportation network from summer 2022, the goal being to reduce the dependence on cars.

• The boats are designed with length ~22 m (72 ft), passenger capacity 42, modern amenities (Wi-Fi, USB charging points, tables for working commuters), spaces for storing scooters and bicycles.
• Moscow Transport confirmed that two routes (with max daily capacity ~16,000 passengers) have already been mapped out.
• Passengers will be able to pay via bank cards, the city’s Troika card (smart card for travel by any public transportation) or biometric payment cards. Those with monthly/yearly public transit tickets will use the boats at no extra cost.
• The new electric ferry service is up to 5 times faster (in comparison to other city public transports) and ~2 times faster than by car.

Moscow cruise terminal

Moscow's cruise terminal is called North River Terminal or River Station  ("Rechnoy Vokzal" / "речной вокзал").

The terminal was opened in 1937 and is one of 2 passenger terminals (the other being South River Terminal) of the city's river transport. North River Terminal is the main hub for long-range (including cruise) shipping routes.
