Popular kerala tour packages, kerala tour packages faqs.

Q. Which is the best backwater destination in Kerala? A. As you sort through Kerala tour packages, make sure it includes Kumarakom in your itinerary. Kumarakom is that dreamy backwater getaway that a typical picture-postcard from Kerala is made up of. An upmarket destination with its smattering of exclusive resorts fringing the backwaters with their personal jetties for you to make evening trips on the Vembanad Lake and catch a sunset. Kumarakom is serene with huge patches of water thick with water lilies. Sit out on the balcony of your resort and you will be able to spot fishermen with their nets hauling out the catch of the day or the locals going about their job in their wooden boats. Kumarakom is green, atmospheric and offers you a quietude that is unique to it. Q. Is a houseboat stay in Kerala expensive? A. Most Kerala holiday packages comprise a night’s stay in a houseboat. It could be availed as houseboats come in a range of budgets. The houseboats can be hired for a day trip, to catch a sunset, for spending a night or consecutive nights. The cost of a houseboat stay would depend on that. There are prominent hotel chains such as Taj that offer luxury houseboat stays panning over a few days where you would have your personal butler cooking you fresh meals as per your order and your houseboat would have a bedroom, bathroom, lobby, kitchen and sit-out and you can watch the backwater scenery through the day. Look out the window or sit on your deck and watch day turn into night, the colours of the changing sky and experience something you never would otherwise on a hotel stay. Q. What major international airlines operate to Kerala? A. Among European carriers there is Lufthansa, Scandinavian Airlines, Finn Air, Air France, Al Italia, Virgin Atlantic, Swiss Air, Austrian Airlines and Swiss Air. American carriers include Delta Airlines, American Airlines and United Airlines. The Asian carriers include Emirates, SriLankan Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Etihad, Kuwait Airways, Oman Air, Malaysian Airlines, Gulf Air, and Qatar Airways. Q. What is the best season to visit Kerala? A. October to March is the best time to visit Kerala. At this time Kerala experiences a mild winter which means there is none of the humidity of the monsoons and no sweltering heat of the summer months. The daytime is bright and sunny, the skies are clear and mellow wind wafts in from the sea around sundown. This is the best time to drift on a houseboat in the backwaters of Kumakarom or Alleppey, soak up the sun on the Kovalam beach, take a jetty ride to the Jewish synagogue in Cochin, set out on a jungle safari in the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary or simply cool your heels off in Munnar. No better time to enjoy Kerala’s vivid scenery. Q. What is a good place in Kerala for leisure and Ayurveda? A. Varkala is the best choice as it ticks both the categories. It is a laid-back getaway with cliffs fronting a turbulent sea, a lineup of coconut groves, regular yoga session planned by the hotels and resorts, cafes serving the fresh catch of the day, afforded by the setting are several Ayurveda clinics and resorts that specialise in Ayurvedic therapies complete with their resident doctors and nutritionists. Q. Is Uber available in Kerala? A. Only three cities in Kerala have Uber; namely Trivandrum, Cochin and Thrissur. A typical intercity Uber trip is between Cochin to any part of Kerala. In such an arrangement, you need to pay the return kilometre rate like in a regular taxi. You can also book an Uber ride from Alleppey and Kottayam provided it is headed to Cochin alone. Q. Is it safe to stay in a houseboat? A. There are houseboats meant for a day trip and there are overnight houseboats. The latter can further be categorised into Deluxe, Premium and Luxury categories. Make sure you are booking a houseboat stay with a reputed provider or the houseboats belong to a prominent hotel chain. There will be a full crew attending to you and you won’t have any discomfort, save for the minor insects that creep up on-board. Make sure you have researched your provider well before zeroing on an overnight stay. Q. Is it okay to visit Kerala in the monsoon? A. July to September is the rainy season in Kerala when the state draws its shutters and goes indoors. The beaches are empty, the attractions are abandoned in this season, even the local shacks shut shop. If you at all have to visit in monsoon to see the backwaters in their rain-soaked glory, visit late September when the heavy rains have subsided. Q. What are the top places to shop for silk sarees in Kerala? A. Parthas Textiles outlet in Trivandrum, Pulimoottil Silks in Thrissur, Ethnic Weaves in Trivandrum, Seematti in Kottayam, Kalyan Sarees in Kannur, Kalyan Kendra in Kozhikode, Jayalakshmi Silks in Kochi, are among the popular hubs to buy a gorgeous Kerala silk saree. Q. What is a great honeymooning destination in Kerala? A. The backwaters of Kumarakom offer the perfect retreat to honeymooning couples. Add to it the presence of the mighty Vembanad Lake that makes the sunsets here more colourful and the scenery more dramatic. Munnar too is a cosy getaway for honeymooners, but nothing like the backwaters to enjoy a few days of serene country scenery with the soft gurgle of waters always in the background. Q. Is alcohol served aboard houseboats? A. Houseboats typically do not come with stocked bars as serving alcohol anywhere in Kerala requires a special liquor licence. But houseboats let you bring in your own alcohol; sometimes they even pick up beer locally and serve it to you. There is no law against enjoying your own alcohol on a houseboat. Q. Where does the Nehru Trophy Boat Race take place in Kerala? A. The fabled Nehru Trophy Boat Race or the snake boat race takes place on the Punnamada Lake near Alleppey. It happens annually in August on its second Saturday. The sight of watching more than 100 rowers navigate on their punted canoes through this approximately 2 kilometre stretch competing with each other as they make it to the finishing line, is a sight to behold.

The best of Kerala in 9 days with idyllic houseboat and relax Tour

The best of Kerala in 9 days with idyllic houseboat and relax

My wife and I spent in Kerala one of the best time of our life. It was truly wonderful and customised holidays without unnecessary rush with plent of time for taking photos and local life observation. That was undoubtedly an option for us as we are photographers and love sightseeing at our own pace. The itinerary was varied and very interesting full of different attractions like an exciting martial art show or theatre in Kochin. We had a great driver Sunil who showed us southern part of India in the best possible way. We love the food especially fish thali and some of the street food snacks. Paylesstoursindia team was always responsive and flexible. Thank you for this superb tour.

Amazing Kerala Tour from Cochin - 6 Days Tour

Amazing Kerala Tour from Cochin - 6 Days

I had a great time in Kerala. I loved the scenery, the culture, and most of all, the people. Our driver, Mr. Sibu, was terrific. I'd love to come back to Kerala and have him as my driver again. The guides in Kochi and Munnar were also great—they were knowledgeable and flexible. We weren't too happy with the initial boat we were given for our Backwater tour, but the company quickly changed us to another boat, which was great. The hotels were all good and the staff were very helpful. All in all, it was a wonderful experience.

Amazing place! I was impressed by the beauty Kerala has to offer. Full of surprises and also very nice people. The tour was super chill and relaxing. Even though I got to see plenty, I still feel like I had plenty of time to just relax and enjoy nature and the tea fields in Munar, or the relaxing tour around the lake in Allepey, or learn about culture en Thekkady

Quick Cochin Munnar Thekkady Alleppy Kovalam 8 Days Tour

I had took the Quick Cochin Munnar Thekkady Alleppey Kovalam tour and it was a quick but memorable tour of Kerala's best attractions. The tour started in Cochin, where we visited some of the city's famous landmarks such as the Mattancherry Palace, the Jewish Synagogue, and the Chinese Fishing Nets. The guide was knowledgeable and provided interesting insights into the city's rich history and cultural diversity. Next, we traveled to Munnar, which is known for its stunning tea plantations and misty mountains. We visited the Tea Museum, the Echo Point, and the Top Station, among other sites. The guide was very knowledgeable about the region's tea industry and provided interesting insights into the cultivation and processing of tea. We then traveled to Thekkady, which is known for its wildlife sanctuary and spice plantations. We went on a jungle trek and a boat ride in the Periyar National Park, where we saw elephants, bison, and other wildlife. We also visited a spice plantation and learned about the region's spice trade. The tour then took us to Alleppey, where we embarked on a houseboat cruise through the tranquil backwaters of Kerala. The scenery was breathtaking and the experience was truly unforgettable. The tour ended in Kovalam, where we had some free time to relax on the beach and enjoy the local cuisine. The accommodations throughout the tour were comfortable and well-maintained, and the local staff were friendly and hospitable. The transportation was also well-organized and comfortable, with air-conditioned vehicles and punctual drivers. .Overall, I would highly recommend the Quick Cochin Munnar Thekkady Alleppey Kovalam tour to anyone looking for a quick but memorable tour of Kerala's best attractions. Southern India Tour with Beaches and Houseboat Experience Tour

Southern India Tour with Beaches and Houseboat Experience

Southern India that included visits to some of the region's most beautiful beaches and a unique houseboat experience. It was truly a memorable trip that left me with a deep appreciation for the natural beauty and cultural diversity of this part of the country. Our journey began in the bustling city of Chennai, where we were immediately immersed in the vibrant energy and rich history of South India. We visited iconic landmarks such as the Kapaleeshwarar Temple and the Marina Beach, the second longest urban beach in the world. The city's mix of modernity and tradition was evident in its bustling markets, ancient temples, and colonial-era buildings. From Chennai, we made our way to Mahabalipuram, a small coastal town known for its ancient rock-cut temples and stunning beaches. We spent a few days exploring the intricately carved monuments and relaxing on the golden sands of the beach. The highlight of our stay in Mahabalipuram was watching the sunset over the Bay of Bengal, a truly breathtaking sight. Next, we headed to Pondicherry, a former French colony that still retains its colonial charm. The quaint streets lined with French-style buildings, along with the serene beaches, made for a picturesque setting. We also had the chance to visit Auroville, an experimental township where people of different nationalities and cultures live together in harmony. The highlight of our trip was the houseboat experience in the backwaters of Kerala. We boarded a traditional houseboat and cruised through the tranquil backwaters, surrounded by lush greenery and local villages. It was a peaceful and unique experience, and we were able to witness the daily life of the locals living along the waterways. Our journey ended in Goa, a popular beach destination known for its laid-back vibe and beautiful beaches. We spent our days soaking up the sun on the pristine beaches, trying out water sports, and indulging in delicious seafood. We also explored the charming Portuguese-influenced old town of Panjim and visited the famous Basilica of Bom Jesus. my Southern India tour with beaches and a houseboat experience was a perfect blend of culture, nature, and relaxation. I was able to see the diverse landscapes of South India, from bustling cities to serene backwaters and stunning beaches. The warm hospitality of the locals, the delicious cuisine, and the rich cultural heritage of the region made this trip truly unforgettable. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a unique and enriching travel experience in India.

Kerala Trip: Best Time To Visit Kerala

Blessed with balmy weather throughout the year, an excursion to Kerala—snuggled in the southern part of India—can be a great choice, anytime. However, the winter season, falling between October and March, can be concluded as a perfect duration for a tour to Kerala. Let’s look at the below season-wise segregation to decide on the perfect time for a Kerala vacation. Elevate your experience with our thoughtfully curated Kerala trip packages , ensuring your journey is seamless and filled with memorable moments.

Summer (April - June)

With hot weather and evening showers adding humidity to the environment, the summer season cannot be recommended for a visit to Kerala . The temperature hovering between 32 degrees and 36-degree Celsius, makes it one of the hottest periods of the region.

However, this can be a great time for a budget vacation, and a tour to beautiful hill stations such as Idukki, Munnar, Palakkad, and Wayanad.

Monsoon (July - September)

Cherish the arrival of the monsoon with a visit to Kerala when the temperature ranges from 19 degrees to 30-degree celsius. With rampant showers, the period of monsoon let tourists enjoy the view of cascading waters and a lush green environment. So, this can be a great time to waking up to enchanting views and having a rejuvenating time while availing services of some of the best Ayurveda centres based here.

Set off for a tour with our Kerala tour package from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore ; and choose to visit Ayurvedic centres, like Kalari Kovilakom in Kollengode, Somatheeram Ayurvedic Beach Resort in Kovalam and other famous centres for best experiences.

Winter (October - March)

And, here comes the best season to visit the southern part of India with the onset of delightful winters. As the temperature hovers between 18 degrees and 29-degree Celsius and the sunshine mildly, here settles perfect weather for Kerala sightseeing . Do visit places, like Kovalam, Thekkady, Alleppey, Munnar, and Kumarakom; enjoy houseboating and a lot more for a wonderful experience in Kerala.

But, bear in mind that this period is the peak season for Kerala Holidays . And hence, it is advised to book our exclusive Kerala trip packages in advance.

Kerala Tourism: How to Reach?

Housing three international airports, the Calicut International Airport in the north, the Kochi International Airport in the centre, and the Trivandrum International Airport in the south; Kerala has very good air connectivity. A convenient option for both international and domestic travelers, the place can be easily accessed via boarding a flight to Kerala. However, Indian citizens can also board a flight from numerous domestic airports that connect Kerala with other states. Post arrival at the airport, one can choose to hop on a train or a taxi to reach their specific destination. Kerala package with flight option is available on our website to make traveling to Kerala easier for travelers.

Crammed with around 200 railway stations, there are frequent train services that can be availed to reach Kerala. Major railway stations of the state are Kovalam, Trivandrum, Ernakulam, Kozhikode, Kottayam, and more. One can board a train from prominent Indian cities like Coimbatore, Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Kolkata to Kerala. And later, hire a cab or an auto to reach their desired venue.

Being well-connected to neighbour states through roadways, it has three major highways: NH 17, NH 47, and NH 49 that make it easy for travelers to visit Kerala. Besides hiring a cab or opting for a road tour, one can also board a private or government bus from major cities of India to reach Kerala.

Choose to travel via sea, on a Kerala trip plan and have a luxurious experience. Connected with Lakshadweep, the state has a busy port from where one can find transport to get to their destination. However, traveling en route sea can be time consuming and expensive.

With our Kerala tour packages from Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, and Banglore , and ample transportation options, getting around in Kerala is not a tough task. From public transport to private buses, tempo travelers, and taxis, tourists have numerous options at their disposal for a hassle-free trip.

Come back for: Boat Ride in Poovar Island, Golden Beach

I usually remain out of town because of my work. And, this is the first time in seven years that I got a chance to take my wife on a romantic tour. However, still had just 4 days with me, so I chose Kerala as our destination. I got in touch with TravelTriangle representatives, and booked a perfect Kerala tour package that let us covered most of the tourist hotspots; and that too within my budget. We started our excursion from Kovalam while covering attractions like Trivandrum Zoo, Napier Museum, Sree Chitra Art Gallery, and others; and then head to a popular spa centre as suggested by our driver. The next morning, we head towards Poovar Island. There we enjoyed boating and a sojourn at the Golden Beach. We also visited Maritime Museum, Padmanabhaswamy Temple, and Kanakakunnu Palace. The most exciting part of our trip was the houseboat stay in Alleppey. An escape to serenity amidst natural beauty, it was altogether a different experience. Besides that, before winding up the tour, we also got a chance to explore the local markets of Bangalore. We are thankful to TravelTriangle for offering us such a well-curated Kerala package and helping us make beautiful memories together.

Finding Peace and Serenity in Kerala - Your Next Holiday Destination

If your traveling is all about taking time out to reconnect with nature and recharge your soul, Kerala will make the perfect holiday destination. From the people, the culture, and the pristine scenic locations ranging from sandy beaches and tropical jungles to the serene backwaters, Kerala will make you remember how life should be.

Kerala is Traditional but Forward Thinking

For most visitors, a trip to Kerala will be like taking a journey through a time when life was simple and less complicated. However, a relaxed lifestyle steeped in old-time traditions hasn't stopped the local population from keeping pace with the modern world where it counts. For instance, education is highly prized, and literacy is almost universal throughout Kerala. Newspaper readership is one of the highest in the world. One of the most significant concerns for tourists traveling the world is healthcare while in foreign lands. Medical care isn't a problem in Kerala, as all medical services are free and provided by Government hospitals.

The People of Kerala

Keralans are friendly, welcoming people, but as you tour the area, you may notice that the women have a deep and abiding fascination with gold. You won't find a woman in Kerala who doesn't have at least one or two gold pieces on their person.

Women love their gold, but all the men wear their mustaches with pride. Kerala girls find mustaches on men handsome and dignified, so it's no surprise that all men maintain at least one, but often both.

Unlike many other parts of the world, the women of Kerala are just as active as men in the government. If you want to look at a part of the world that's doing great things for the empowerment of women, then Kerala can show you how it's done.

Life in Kerala is scenic, pristine, and inextricably intertwined with nature. You can't help but feel the beautiful locale has helped shaped the culture and laid-back welcoming nature of Kerala's people.

Far away from the hustle and bustle of India's major cities, you won't feel like a tourist in need of forced entertainment for the sake of the mighty dollar. Instead, you will be treated more like an honored guest or a friend who hasn't visited for a while.

Walk down the street, and you will be greeted with happy smiles from the local populace as they go about their day.

Keralan people are proud of their state, heritage, and unhurried, relaxed lifestyle, where the distractions of technology have taken a back seat to peace and serenity.

Things To Do in Kerala

As we mentioned, Kerala is a fantastic location for witnessing the glory of nature and soaking up the serenity.

Every scenic experience you could want is represented in Kerala's tourist attraction. There are sandy beaches and forests full of wild animals, exotic birdlife, and cheeky giant squirrels. Quiet waterways, scenic lakes, and breathtaking mountain views are also reasons Kerala is such a popular tourist destination.

Take your pick and enjoy the ultimate luxury at one of the many resorts in Kerala, where you can relax in comfort, style, and safety in a private cabin.

Enjoy a boat trip down one of Kerala's many breathtaking backwater locations, where the pace of life is slower and more relaxed. Houseboats are available for those who want to immerse themselves in Keralan culture and take in all that the backwaters have to offer.

Hill stations are some of the most historical and popular destinations in Kerala. Looking out over the plains below and taking in the view of rolling green hills and miles of tea plantations while filling your lungs with fresh mountain air is not an experience you will soon forget.

This is also a great time to go on a spa focused Kerala trip, one that truly leaves you rejuvenated. This makes the best time to visit Kerala  during the winter season, from September end to the start of March. Most people opt to spend their holidays in Kerala during this time, as the favourable weather makes the beaches idyllic, the backwaters are at their best and the outdoors in general become more accessible. So even city-centric getaways are more fun, allowing you to have the entire gamut of Kerala holidays experiences to pick from. But if you are going to go during winter, booking your Kerala tour package in advance is recommended.
