No 1 Lounge

We bought the lounge as said 3 hours allowed inside but that’s not true - you are allowed 3 hours prior to your flight but taking the fact that gate and boarding starts around an hour before take off you are only in lounge for 1.5-2 hours - think the advertising needs to be updated as expensive for only this amount of time

However, our website clearly states: You can arrive three hours prior to your flight time. You can also buy extra hours in advance or while you're in the lounge - if your flight's delayed and you want to stay longer for example. This is also in line with other lounge operators. We arrived in the lounge around 4pm and were given a warm welcome by Renata who showed us to our seats. Through-out our visit the staff were engaging and helpful. Renata helped with our queries, showed us where to find the water tap and wished us well on our travels. A wonderful start to our holiday.

Really disappointing, Twice I booked two visits within a month of each other, The first was poor to the point I tried to cancel my second but no joy, I figured it couldn't get worse ..... It was terrible, In short, arrive slightly early and you are turned away, when you do get in be prepared to wait to be served, then be prepared for limited food options, I mean really limited, Not even cheese and biscuits ?? Several ares were roped off , so say Reserved, no one used them my whole visit I asked to be allowed to use a roped off lounge room which had the football on, it was empty, I was refused as ITS Closed, They then went around the lounge and turned off ALL the televisions. They began taking away the food and closing down soft drink taps two Hours before closing. I would mention the horrible, rude & arrogant chap I spoke with but he, along with almost all the other staff had removed his name badge, Oh wait, it was Leveau, not that clever is he! This lounge is Vile and I would rather not bother next time.

Apart from being difficult to find it was very difficult to find a place to sit. Then a queue for the coffee, no choice of coffee and only one machine working. Food was dreadful, Luke warm at best. The bacon wasn’t cooked properly, it was almost raw. Poor choice of pastries. A lot of people complaining about the seating and food. Fed up to say the least.

Awful food, terrible environment. The nice sofas were all Reserved but nobody was using them. One choice of beer in a small glass (they are paranoid about drunk passengers). Took 2 attempts to get past the reception (they sent me away even though I had paid the exorbitant fee). Ultimately I would have had a better experience if I had just used one of the franchises in the main food hall. Total waste of money.

Guests accessing a No1 Lounge branded airport lounge can enjoy complimentary food and beverages, including hot dishes, snacks and premium beers, wines, spirits, sparkling wine (some exclusions apply), soft drinks and hot beverages. Guest can also access free and unlimited Wi-Fi, digital newspapers and magazines, which you can download to enjoy during you onward journey, flight information screens, comfortable seating, TVs and runway views from within the lounge. Lounges are a capacity-controlled environment, providing an escape away from the busy airport terminal. Some lounges, such as Club Aspire at Heathrow Terminal 3 and 5 also provide shower facilities for an additional fee.

Lounge review: heathrow terminal 3's no 1 lounge.

The lounge is open to passengers flying in any class and offers spectacular views of the runway along with freshly prepared food and drinks.

London Heathrow Airport

The No 1 lounge is located in Terminal 3 of London’s Heathrow Airport. The terminal is home to eight lounges which are located relatively close together after the duty-free section of the terminal.

Six of the lounges are by invitation only or for premium passengers (including the American Airlines Admirals Club , which is temporarily closed). Paying passengers and those who receive lounge access through means such as Priority Pass and Loungekey are eligible to access the No1 Lounge, and the Club Aspire lounges with or without reservations.

Ways to access the lounge

The No 1 Lounge is open daily from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM and offers a wide selection of amenities. Passengers on any carrier and in any fare class can book entry in advance on the lounges’ website for £34 or through Priority Pass for £6. Cardholders from Priority Pass, LoungeKey, Dragon Pass, and Wexas are all welcome. In addition to premium passengers traveling on Delta Air Lines , Finnair , Middle East Airlines , and Pakistan International Airlines.

The lounge had a small sign saying it was at capacity, but the staff was incredibly proactive in checking in new customers as the patrons currently in the lounge were preparing to leave. The lounge staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming and seated me within moments. I was able to use the QR code on my Priority Pass, which frequent fliers can add to mobile phone wallets for easy access, and I was able to secure a seat against the window.

There is an extensive selection of seating and workspace options available. The entire length of the window facing the apron features electrical sockets and comfortable chairs for working. At the same time, tables and couches are arranged in varying combinations across the space to allow for flexible seating.

Food and drink options

The dining area is spacious and well laid out. The lounge previously offered hand-cooked meals but now features a self-serve buffet. The selections were quite pleasant and thought out to accommodate any dietary restrictions.

The left-hand side of the buffet consisted of a well-stocked salad bar, including a delicious tangy coleslaw, fresh quinoa salad, and chickpea meze. The main course consisted of Naan bread with rice, chicken tikka masala, and a vegetarian/vegan three bean chili. Overall, the food was tasty and frequently refreshed, with an ample amount of delicious vegan and halal options that don’t ring “dietary restrictions.

There is a fully stocked bar with a large selection of complimentary beverages in addition to a self-serve coffee and soft drink station. The bar staff was exceptionally professional and courteous. I was greeted by Vicky and Sid, who went out of their way to ensure they found answers to all my questions regarding the lounge and served up drinks in a prompt and professional manner.

Additional amenities

The lounge also features a cinema and several study spaces that can be opened to accommodate additional passengers and provide quiet areas for working. The bathrooms are located down a corridor adjacent to the library and cinema and feature three individual toilets on each side as well as an additional accessible one.

The lounge also features a spa and showers, which are currently closed due to the ongoing COVID pandemic. There was also formerly an in-house beautician that offered treatments throughout the day, a service the lounge is eager to resume when possible.

Overall, the food and drinks were delightful and well-prepared. The seating area was spacious and flexible, offering incredible views of the runway and gates, and well laid out with power sockets next to most chairs. There is also a flight information monitor to stay updated with flight gates and boarding calls. The lounges are located right at the beginning of the hallway, requiring a walk of at least 10 minutes to reach even the closest gates.
