But actually, the tourist spots in Mountain Province is more than just the Mt. Kitelpan—it has a lot more to offer to its visitors. All of which are as equally or even more breathtaking and fun to see.

Sumaguing cave.

The magical cave of Sumaguing is one of the most famous caves in the area that it became one of the most visited caves in the Mountain Province. This is because there are a lot of activities that can be done here. Beginners and professional spelunkers will enjoy exploring this cave. Plus, the dipping pools are fun to experience.

Bomod-Ok Falls

Bomod-Ok Falls is a popular tourist spot in Sagada because of its size; the other name of it is actually the “Big Falls”. The size of it is stunning and it looks even more stunning with the trees, grass and all the other vegetations that surround it. The pool at the bottom is cool and refreshing. If the trek is tiring, swimming at the pool would be relaxing.

Kiltepan Peak

If you are looking for a place to watch the sunrise or the sun to set, going to Kiltepan Peak looks like you’re taking a peek of heaven. You can enjoy the sea of clouds that surround you. From the peak, you will get a view of the vast mountains and the sea of clouds of course.

Echo Valley

The Echo Valley is the place where the famous hanging coffins are located. But, other than the most visited hanging coffins, the Echo Valley itself is a nice sight because of all the lush green vegetation with unique trails and caverns. Additionally, by its name, there is a part of the valley where you can and are encouraged to shout your heart out.

Maligcong Rice Terraces

No matter what month you to visit in, going here is such a soothing view. When it’s newly planted until it’s growing stage, you will see dark green colors that overflow while if it’s harvest season, you can see a vibrant gold. Either way, it looks amazing as it provides a contrast to the blue sky.

Mount Polis (Bauko)

Hikers, whether newbie or professional, will enjoy the trek of Mount Polis. The trail has been developed to make it visitor-friendly. It will take you an hour or less to reach the summit, and when you do, you will see wonderful sight of Bagnen, Sagada and also the mountain ranges.

How to get to the Mountain Province

There is no commercial airport in the Mountain Province and most people who go here travel by bus or with a private car. The most visited town in the mountain province are Sagada and Bontoc. To get to these two places, you can take a bus from Manila or from Baguio. Alternatively, if you are already Banaue, you can also take a bus from there to either Bontoc or Sagada.

If you’re looking for an exciting adventure that will test your limits, Sumaguing Cave or Sumaging-Latipan-Lomyang Crystal Cave has got you covered. One of the most famous caves in the Philippines , it has the largest chamber built over the years, with natural rock formations spread within.

Another popular spot for the hanging coffins in Sagada is in Echo Valley. It is named as such because of the way echoes are heard throughout the valley when you shout. 

To get there, you need to go past the St. Mary’s Anglican Church and the cemetery and make your way down the valley; the trek to the hanging coffins takes about 15-20 minutes.

After visiting the hanging coffins, you can continue with a trek of Echo Valley; a walk deeper into the valley will lead you to a subterranean river, and the Bokong Falls you can explore before heading back.

Seeing the sun peek out from behind the Cordillera mountains and low-lying clouds is a surreal experience. To get to the mountain, you can book a round trip transport from the town proper.

​If caving isn’t your style, then maybe a hike up the rolling hills is more up your alley. A few hours of hiking will reward you with a 360-degree view of the seemingly endless Cordillera mountains and low-lying clouds interspersed with the grassy hills.

You can also watch the sunrise over a sea of clouds in Marlboro Hills, as this is the less crowded option over the more popular Mt. Kiltepan.

The hidden gem of the Kapay-aw Rice Terraces, the Pongas Falls is a refreshing and fitting end to your walk across the rice paddies.

It’s smaller than Bomod-ok, but it is just as impressive. Fees to the Pongas Falls are included in the Kapay-aw Rice Terraces tour.

Affectionately called the “Small Falls,” Bokong Falls is the “easier” trek compared to the one going to Bomod-ok Falls. You can go to Bokong Falls as part of your Echo Valley tour.  

It’s a smaller, less crowded site, so you can go for a dip and take lots of photos of the scenery without getting fellow hikers in your shots.

Fight off Sagada’s chilly nights with a meal at this cozy restaurant, famous for its weekend buffet specials. Its menu is primarily a fusion of European and Filipino, and you have a selection of roast meats, salads, pasta, vegetables, and wine to choose from.

The restaurant is a bit on the small side, so reservations at least a day before is a must. It is also open for dinner only. They also host dinner buffets during weekends. 

Have your fill of tart and tangy lemon pie and pair it with Sagada mountain tea at Lemon Pie House.

They also serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals that are budget-friendly. The restaurant is open daily so you can try their delicacies whenever you want to.

16. Go Orange-Picking at Sagada Rock Inn & Café

One of the most unique experiences you can do in Sagada is to harvest fresh oranges at Rock Inn and Cafe. After paying the entrance fee, you’ll be given garden sears so you can cut the stem of the oranges trees easily. Your payment will depend on how much oranges you harvested.

After getting your fill of fresh-off-the-tree oranges, you can head over to their Café Bodega to sample their dishes. Try their pork sinigang or their chilly chicken curry.

Bontoc Meseum – is located within Bontoc Town Center wherein it displays the original and various culture of the different tribes of Mountain Province including those of Abra, Kalinga and Ifugao.

Top Places to Visit in Sagada, Mountain Province

It may seem tiresome with all the long drives, early morning wake up call and thousands of steps up and down the hill or stairs but I must say, Sagada is more than worth it. All the beautiful and scenic distractions it offers along the journey and the priceless view and takeaways at the end of it are all worth it. It truly has a lot to offer and if you wish to explore this charming little town in Mountain Province, here’s a list of the top places to visit in Sagada, Mountain Province to begin with!

Important note : The local tourism office requires the tourists to get a guide for each attraction or tourist spot. Hence, visiting three tourist spots, say in a day, requires three different guides, too. Rates vary depending on the number of guests to accompany and per attraction. Aside from the guide fee, prepare for the shuttle and other additional fees (entrance, helmet rental, etc.) depending on ones’ chosen spot to visit. Shuttle rental is mandatory since the LGU does not allow private vehicles around primarily to systematically regulate the tourist flow.

Places to Visit in Sagada

Ganduyan museum.

If you wish to know more about Sagada and appreciate the town itself, its people, their highly-preserved culture and traditions, Ganduyan museum is the best place to be. Seated at the heart of Sagada town, Ganduyan museum takes you on a walk down Sagada and its people’s memory lane. It features their ancestors’ accessories both of the male and the female’s, kitchenware and other home essentials, textiles, travel essentials, war weapon, bartered items and more. The museum curated by the late Cristina Aben has the most extensive collection of Cordilleran artefacts up to date.

The museum collects an amount of Php 100.00 for its maintenance and upkeeping.

Balangagan Cave

Belonging to the less-traveled attractions in Sagada is this hidden wonder in the south called Balangagan cave. This cave offers interesting formations of stalactites, stalagmites, draperies, flowstones, columns and pillars that the local guides have amazingly weaved into a fiction. Apart from these fascinating formations, you’d also chance upon hanging coffins and ancestral burial jars around the cave. The best way to witness all these is through a guided spelunking activity.

Tourists can hire a local guide at the tourism office. Rate starts at Php 800.00 per guide who can accompany up to five people. It is also mandatory for the tourists to get a local shuttle. Shuttle rental starts at Php 850.00 and it can carry up to 12 tourists. Guests are also wear helmet for safety. Rental fee is at Php 50.00 per head.

Kamangwit Eco Park or South Park

If you wish to mingle with the locals in Sagada, you should visit the Kamangwit Eco Park or South Park. We visited it one Saturday evening and we got a chance to enjoy the local food including Pinikpikan and Etag , witness their courtship and other traditional dances and listen to some modern songs originally composed by a local band! They also have some souvenirs on display. During the holiday season, they would set up lights to make it a Christmas village. During the day, you may opt to visit the nearby hanging coffins.

Sagada Weaving

Apart from the natural and scenic attractions, among the ones that is frequently visited places in Sagada is the Sagada Weaving. It is considered as a pioneer in the town’s weaving industry as it has been running since 1968. They practice both the traditional and ethnic weaving, the backstrap and [upright] loom, using purely spun polyester. They create bags, slippers, tablecloths and runners, purses, ponchos and others that they also sell in the souvenir shop they put up at the entrance.

Take note that Sagada weaving also observes non-working holidays so expect no weavers during such days.

Sagada Pottery

An added variety to our adventurous Sagada itinerary is a visit to the Sagada Pottery.

Sagada pottery does not only sell their very own earthen products but also show the tourists how they initially make one from scratch while explaining the whole process comprehensively, too. Not only that they would let you watch, but you can also try it yourself, too! Behind the amazing earthenware craftsmanship in Sagada Pottery are the women from Applai Kankanaey tribe – Siegrid Bangyay, Tessie Baldo and Ardeth Butic. The products that they have made have been brought and exhibited in various fairs and museums. The humble beginning of pottery in Sagada can be traced back in 1960’s when Archie Stapleton, an American potter came to the town. Stapleton himself taught the women who have been continuing the craft until today.

The demo costs Php 200.00 for a group . If you wish to get your hands mold something amazing, you may also try it out yourself with the guidance of the artisan for only Php 100.00 . You may also buy it, too!

Mt. Polis may not be located in Sagada but it lies just a few minutes away from the southern side of it. It’s actually located in its neighboring town, Bauko Mountain Province. We may have not witnessed it ourselves, but it is said that it is also among the best places to experience a 360-degree view of sea of clouds that is almost touching one’s feet. It took us more or less an hour of an uphill walk on a concrete staircase. The trek started at around 4:30 AM and we reached the summit before the sun has fully risen.

Echo Valley and Hanging Coffins

Among the top favorite places to visit in Sagada are the Echo valley and Hanging Coffins. These offer the best experience to know more about Sagada’s traditional and modern death and burial rituals. This also includes a visit in the Anglican cemetery where one can witness Panagapoy especially during November 1. The trail is beginner-friendly and does not require any advance navigational skills. Most of the path that you’ll walk on is paved and the stairs have safety rails, too. Guide fee is at Php 300.00 for ten persons with an additional Php 10.00 per head for the access fee.

If you’re up for some adventure, you may also opt to go on a longer trail known as the Paytokan Walk which includes the hanging coffins, echo valley, underground river and coffee farm. Guide fee starts at Php 1,000.00 good for ten persons . They also collect an access fee of Php 10.00 in this tour.

Bomod-ok Falls

Bomod-ok Falls is probably one of those places where one would say, “it’s all worth it.” Despite the challenging trek, a lot would still visit it as the view is indeed rewarding and worth it. The stunning sight of the terraces and hills would at least compensate the more or less two hours of challenging trail, though. At the end of it anyway is the highest falls in Sagada, about 200-feet high, where one can refresh in its ice-cold waters. If you are up for some adrenaline pump, you may also try jumping off the 20-feet high point down to its cool, verdant basin.

Pongas Falls

Pongas falls is one of the majestic yet less traveled falls in Sagada. This breathtaking 40-meter high twin-like falls can be reached in more or less 30-minute hike. Before Ankileng village, the jump off to Pongas falls, is a hanging bridge with a stunning view. Prepare, though, as past this stunning sight is a literally breathtaking trek with several assaults.

Guide fee is at Php 600.00 for 1 to 10 persons with an additional Php 650.00 for the local shuttle . They collect an entrance fee of Php 30.00 at Ankileng village.

Lamagan (Marlboro Hills)

Marlboro hills, locally known as Lamagan , is popularly known as such due to the presence of wild horses and other wild animals few ages ago like the ones in Marlboro country. Lamagan is located in eastern side of the town. It is one of the best spots in Sagada to witness a breathtaking sunrise rising behind the stark outline of ranges from afar, above the sea of clouds. The trek to Lamagan usually starts at 4:00 AM to get into the summit at around 5:30 AM, just in time before the sun has fully risen. The trail is beginner-friendly but make sure that you wear a pair of comfortable footwear as it is quite a long trek especially if you opt to traverse to Blue Soil.

Guide fee is at Php 800.00 good for ten persons . The shuttle rental starts at Php 650.00 .

Past the seemingly unending pine tree-covered trail is quite a sweet surprise – heaps of blue soil!

One of the unique and top places to visit in Sagada is the Blue Soil locally known as Kaman Utek . According to our guide, the soil in this area contains high copper sulfate resulting to its bluish color. This color becomes more vivid especially after a rain. The best time to visit is early in the morning to witness the bluish color. The color gets lighter as if the blues are fading at midday.

The guide fee in this attraction is at Php 800.00 good for 1 to 5 persons . Shuttle rental is at Php 850.00 and can carry up to 12 persons.

Often times, tourists would opt to take the Marlboro hills – Blue soil traverse trip. The trek may take more or less 5 hours with a guide fee at Php 1600.00 good for 1 to 10 persons . The shuttle fee, on the other hand , is at Php 1,350.00 .

Lumiang-Sumaging Cave

One of the most challenging yet top favorite places to visit in Sagada is the Lumiang-Sumaguing Cave connection located in central Sagada. These two are both burial caves, too, with fascinating formations; one of which is the remarkable King’s curtain (in Sumaguing). The spelunking activity that may take 4 to 5 hours may be physically challenging but is guaranteed to be exciting. It requires going through tight spaces, so it’s a big no for the claustrophobics.

Guide fee is at Php 800.00 for one to a group of five . Shuttle fee, on the other hand, is free if you’ll stay in Bilza.

How to go to Sagada

From Manila to Sagada

From Cubao, take a Coda Lines bus to Sagada. The first trip is at 8:00 PM and the last is at 11:30 PM. The land trip would take you around 13 hours and a ticket costs about Php 1,080.00 for per way a bus without a toilet and Php 1,200.00 if otherwise.

From Banaue to Sagada

Option 1 : From Banaue Bus Terminal, look for jeepneys, vans or minivans that travel to Sagada. The trip may take three hours. Take note though that there’s a minimum number of passengers for it to go. Fare may range from Php 250.00 to Php 300.00.

Option 2 : From Banaue, take a van going to Bontoc. From Bontoc, take a jeep going to Sagada.

From Baguio to Sagada

Make your way to Dangwa Terminal. From the terminal, take a bus going to Sagada. The trip may take 5 to 6 hours with the fare ranging from Php 220.00 to Php 250.00. The first trip is at around 8:00 AM and the last trip departs at 1:00 PM.

If you are in Sagada and you have ample time to explore another interesting destination, then you should consider visiting the mountainous terrain of Besao. Although the tourism industry of this town is not yet developed, visitors will be amazed at the beauty and breathtaking landscapes of this place.

Where is Besao?

Besao is located in the westernmost part of the Mountain Province. Tubo and Abra surround it from the northern part and Tadian guards it in the southern part.

Sagada and Quirino enclose it from the eastern and western part, respectively. It is located 150 kilometers from Baguio City and 28 Kms from Bontoc – the capital town of the Mountain province.

How to get to Besao, Mountain Province

Besao is 28 kilometers from the capital town of Bontoc and accessible via Besao-Sagada Road and Besao-Tadian Road. If you miss the Bus ride from Bontoc, Jeepney for hire are available in Sagada going to Besao.

For a solo traveler, it would be best advised to patch up with another group of travelers; it would be more convenient that way.

The word “Buso” from Ilocano means ‘head-hunter.’ The people close to these mountains believed that early “Besaos” were the fierce head-hunters and later the word evolved to be called “Besao.” It is also said that this place used to be the home of the fierce tribe that had a lineage of actually the most elite warlocks and head-hunters.

The lands of Besao

It lays at the western part of the Mountain Province, where it’s bounded by Tubo, Abra on North, Tadian on the Southern side, Sagada on its Eastern side and Quirino, Ilocos Sur located on its Western side. It’s nearly 28 kilometers far from Bontoc, which is the capital of Mountain Province, while 8 kilometers is the distance that it has from Sagada.

The entire Besao town is settled on forest lands, where 52.02% is classified as the forest reserve, while 25.95% comes under timberlands and 22.03% is still unclassified forest. However, the land use at present shows that there are many built-up areas in this municipality, while 10% of the entire area of the region is utilized for agricultural purposes.

Benguet is home to some of the most scenic and fascinating sights in the country. Many of these lie in off-beaten locations and, thus, are ideal getaways for those who prefer less touristy and pristine destinations.

Cascading waterfalls, towering mountains, mossy forests, ancient trails, scenic highways, mystical caves, and colorful gardens are among the must-visit attractions in Benguet.

Benguet is also known for being the salad bowl of the Philippines and as a major supplier of sweet strawberries.

Without further ado, here are the must-see places in Benguet.

1. Mt. Pulag 

Rising to 2, 922 MASL, Mt. Pulag is the highest mountain in Luzon and the third highest in the Philippines.

Vast groves of dwarf bamboo grasses cover its rolling summit. These shelter endangered species such as cloud rats while their mossy forests host deer, wild pigs, doves, and many other threatened species.

The peak of Mt. Pulag offers one of the best views of sunsets and sunrises. A stunning sea of cloud formations frequently appears as far as the eyes could see.

Unfortunately, commercial gardens are slowly creeping, threatening the lush forests of Mt. Pulag. Hopefully, concerned government agencies, private sectors, and community members would collaborate to come up with a master plan to ensure the sustainable management of the said mountain.

Mt. Pulag is one of the most visited tourist spots in Benguet.

2. Mt. Yangbew 

Mt. Yangbew is one of the most accessible La Trinidad, Benguet tourist spots. While atop, you can have a full view of La Trinidad and neighboring Baguio city. The towering peaks of Atok and Kabayan including Mt. Pulag are also visible here.

Grasses and a few shrubs cover the summit of Mt. Yangbew, reminiscent of Mt. Pulag’s peak. Another interesting feature of the mountain is the presence of limestone rock formations where you can shoot Instagrammable photos.

Want to feel like a cowboy or a cowgirl? Hop on a horse and stroll around to see the sights.

Just like other tourist spots in Benguet, this is a fragile ecosystem needing protection.

3. Tekip Falls 

Tekip Falls is one of the countless waterfalls found in Bakun. Measuring more than 120 feet high, it cascades like a giant curtain of water. It has small and shallow pools with icy-cold waters.

To feel the rejuvenating effect of Tekip Falls, try positioning yourself at its base while its cascades give you a massage. Or you can dip in its pools as you relish the majestic beauty of it.

The best time to visit Tekip Falls and other cascades of Bakun is during the rainy months of June to December. During these periods, the falls display their full strength and beauty. It is one of the iconic Bakun, Benguet tourist spots.

4. Bayokbok Falls 

Bayokbok Falls is one of the new Tublay, Benguet tourist spots. It is a three-layered cascade. Only the first and second falls, however, are readily visible upon reaching the site.

The first layer cascades in a sideward manner. It carved a very deep, wide, and long pool. During good weather conditions, Bayokbok Falls casts a crystal-clear view of its waters. You can see small fish and crabs in the water.

To get to the third fall, one needs to climb over the first and second. The third fall also has a deep pool, sandwiched on bare rock cliffs. These cliffs provide a good diving or jumping platform.

• Fees: Php 250 per person (includes guide, environmental, and barangay fees)
• Trekking Time: 15 minutes

5. Aran Cave

Aran Cave is rapidly gaining popularity among Baguio City and La Trinidad locals. It is just more or less an hour’s drive away from these urban centers.

The cave is named after a giant called Aran. Locals say that he used to dwell in the area and was responsible for the disappearance of workers during the construction of Kennon Road.

One can find at least three waterfalls cascading on pristine pools inside the cave. The waters of these are icy-cold and crystal-clear. Stalactite and stalagmite rock formations also abound.

• Fees: Php 200 per person (Covers entrance, environmental fees, and rent of a headlight)
• Trekking Time: 15 Minutes

6. Asin Hot Spring

Asin Hot Spring is some 40 minutes drive from La Trinidad. Recently, the local officials have been improving the site to cater to the growing number of visitors.

The hot springs emanate from rock crevices and directly flow towards the Tuel River. Hoses have been installed to channel the steamy waters on man-made pools. Isn’t it fun? You get to first warm yourself on the springs’ thermal waters before swimming in the chilly river.

If you want to level up your adventure, you can continue hiking to nearby Bayokbok Falls. Both are within the same barangay. Just make sure to ask for a guide from the registration booth.

7. Shamsham Falls 

Shamsham Falls is perhaps the highest fall in Tublay and is a hidden Benguet tourist spot. At least three waterfalls compose Shamsham.

However, the main waterfall is most frequented by the locals for recreational activities. It measures more than 60 feet high and cascades on a small and shallow pool.

Lush forests surround the waterfall and you can often chance on different species of birds and blooming flowers.

Sham-sham means “ninety-nine.” The locals named it that way to commemorate the ninety-nine women who jumped into the falls to escape the Japanese invaders during World War II.

8. La Trinidad Strawberry Farm

Strawberry Farm in La Trinidad, Benguet is among the most famous tourist spots in the province. Here, visitors can pick fresh strawberries and experience the joy of a farmer. There is also a giant strawberry statue nearby and numerous stalls selling unique souvenirs including strawberry products.

Aside from strawberries, visitors here can also enjoy picking temperate vegetables such as lettuce, cabbage, spring onions, and beans.

9. Ambuklao Dam

Ambuklao Dam is one of the biggest hydroelectric facilities in the Philippines. Located in barangay Ambuclaco, Bokod, it is a sight to behold for motorists traversing the nearby highway. It generates up to 105 megawatts of electricity supplying many parts of Luzon.

Nearby, there are stalls selling live tilapia harvested from the dam.

10. Rocky Wall of Beauties

The landscape of barangay Tacadang, Kibungan resembles the Grand Canyon of the United States. Sheer and bare rock cliffs and formations dominate its entire landscape.

That is why it is also popularly known as the “Switzerland of Benguet.” Today, Tacadang continues to attract flocks of mountaineers and adventurers. It has several peaks for such activities.

During rainy months, numerous waterfalls surround Tacadang in almost every direction. Some falls measure up to more than 500 meters high. Hiking to the Rocky Wall of Beauties is one of the best things to do in Benguet.

• Trekking Time: 8 hours/1 day

11. Mt. Tenglawan 

Mt. Tenglawan is one of the most frequented peaks of Bakun, Benguet. It is part of the Bakun trilogy/trio. The other two mountains are Mt. Kabunian and Mt. Lobo. Mt. Tenglawan is visible from barangay Poblacion.

Its partially forested slopes feed the brook leading to the Tres Marias Falls. While atop Mt. Tenglawan, you will catch sight of stunning mountain views and the lowland plains of La Union.

The local officials offer various Bakun, Benguet tour packages.

12. Badi Falls 

Badi Falls is a fast-growing ecotourism destination in Kapangan, Benguet. It is a series of waterfalls. The highest of which measures more than 30 meters high. Some of these falls carved deep pools, fit for swimming.

Badi Falls’ cold and crystal-clear waters offer an enlivening effect, after the hours of trekking to get here. Yes, the trek may be long and winding. But, the trail offers fascinating views of lush forests and verdant mountains.

• Location/Jump-off: Brgy Sagubo, Kapangan
• Trekking Time: 2 hours

13. Mt. Kompol-kompol 

Mt Kompol-kompol is the ultimate destination for the so-called Mt. Purgatory Traverse. The traverse commences from Japas jump-off going to Mt. Pack.

From Mt. Pack, it takes 2.5 kilometers to reach a viewpoint called Mt. Purgatory. It is named as such, owing to the cold and forbidding weather, reminiscent of a purgatory. From here, you will then trail on seemingly endless mossy forests until you reach Mt. Kompol-kompol.

Mt Kompol-Kompol is one of the remotest Benguet tourist attractions.

14. Ambongdolan Caves

Bengaongao and Paterno compose the cave systems of barangay Ambongdolan in Tublay, Benguet. Personally, these are among the most beautiful caves I’ve ever visited.

Here, you can find bizarre and exquisite stalactite and stalagmite rock formations. Bengaongao cave is the more popular one. It has a wide opening, surrounded by big boulders.

Navigating your way here is quite easy as there are not so many diversions. On the other hand, you need to squeeze yourself and rappel down to get inside Paterno Cave. It is relatively drier.

• Location/Jump-off: Ambongdolan, Tublay
• Entrance and Guide Fee: Php 225

15. Mt. Ulap 

Along with Mt. Pulag, Mt. Ulap fares as one of the most popular hiking tourist spots in Benguet. Unlike Mt. Pulag, the trails going to Mt. Ulap’s summit are mostly lined with pine forest stands.

There are actually two major jump-off points going to the mountain. The first one commences from Nueva Vizcaya.

The second and more popular trail starts from barangay Sante Fe of Itogon. Take note. Mt. Ulap is part of the ancestral domains of Itogon. The peak of Mt. Ulap provides fascinating views of Cordillera’s mountain ranges and even the southern plains dominated by Mt. Arayat.

16. Amburayan River 

Amburayan River emanates from the towering mountains of Atok, Benguet including brook tributaries from Tublay. The river plays an important historical and cultural role among the local communities.

It also provides irrigation to rice paddies all year round, thus, sustaining the main subsistence of the people. Its waters also teem with marine species such as fishes, crabs, and eels.

17. Longog Cave

Longog Cave is just one of the several caves found in Kapangan, Benguet. It is also one of the most accessible. It takes just over 20 minutes of a hike from the road to reach the cave’s entrance.

Inside, there are parts where you will need to crawl on your belly to get across. You also need to hang onto rock openings and crevices to get deeper. Certainly, these present difficulties.

However, you will be rewarded with a stunning view of the cave’s inside chambers. Several pools can be found. Stalactite and stalagmite formations are everywhere.

18. Mt. Tabayoc 

Mt. Tabayoc is the second-highest mountain in Luzon, just after neighboring Mt. Pulag. It rises to more than 2,842 MASL, making it the fifth-highest in the entire country.

Despite its majestic height, the usual jump-off point at Lake Tabeo is already at 2, 202 MASL. However, the trail to the summit is no easy one.

In fact, some hikers often describe it as the “Monkey Trail.” Literally, you would need to hang onto vines and crawl on boulders on some parts of the trail. Mt Tabayoc is one of the nearby Buguias, Benguet tourist spots.

19. Mt. Timbak 

Mt Timbak stands prominently along the Halsema Highway. It is the third-highest mountain in Luzon and the ninth-highest in the Philippines.

It rises to more than 2,717 MASL. Unlike most major mountains in the country, Mt Timbak is very much accessible. A local road heads straight almost to the summit. This makes the trek pretty much more convenient and easier.

Atop the mountain, one can catch amazing views of the sunrise and the occasional sea of clouds. Mt Pulag and Mt Tabayoc are also visible from here. Mt Timbak is one of the most popular Atok, Benguet tourist spots.

20. Payogpog Falls 

Payogpog Falls is among the four locally-known cascades found in barangay Shilan. It measures around 30 feet high and cascades on a small and shallow catch basin. This is a good spot for swimming, picnics, and other recreational activities. It is one of the emerging La Trinidad, Benguet tourist spots.

21. Northern Blossom Flower Farm

The Northern Blossom Flower Farm in Atok went viral on social media lately. It is a five-hectare site that grows an amazing diversity of colorful flowers including the iconic cabbage roses.

The farm sits on a high elevation, thus, it also offers a panoramic view of the mountain ranges including Mt Timbak and Mt Pulag. It is now one of the most popular Atok, Benguet tourist spots.

• Entrance Fee: Php 250 for adults, Php 50 for children (5-10 years old)

22. Towing Falls

Towing Falls is a three-tier wonder and is one of the favorite weekend getaways from Baguio City. The third cascade is the highest with a height of more than 120 feet. It carved a very wide and deep pool that makes up for a rejuvenating swim. It is one of the rising Benguet tourist spots.

• Location/Jump-off: Sablan
• Travel Time: 45 minutes from Baguio

pls help me what to do next chronologically, i want to travel Solo after my hike on March 6th, so the exit point is Sta.Fe, Itogon, Benguet. i want to know the nearest tourist spot that i can visit.and possible to go to Baguio City proper. thank you, any suggestion is a great help to me.
