“ Fantastic service and personalized touches. ”

We needed transport from the Santiago Airport to Vina Del Mar where we would stay a few days before embarking on a cruise. Hector picked us up directly from the Santiago airport in a very nice and clean Mercedez mini-van. We stopped in a quaint coffee shop in a small town to take a breather before heading to a beautiful winery, tucked away in the rolling hills of the Casablanca Valley. We were hosted by Alexandra, the sommelier of the Villard Winery who recounted the French history of the winery and explained the characteristics of the soil, micro climate and sun exposure that gave each grape its unique and wonderful flavor. By far, the best wine tasting experience we ever had. Then Hector presented us with a series of options for lunch and we opted for a small Italian restaurant in his native city of Valparaiso, outside of the usual tourist tracks. We loved it!! He then took us around the city of Vina Del Mar before dropping us at our hotel in late afternoon. Throughout the tour and intersperse with personal stories, Hector took the time to explain his country’s history and culture. The day could not have been better. We highly recommend Hector and his driver.

Private Santiago Half-Day Discovery - 5 hours

We start the tour with private pick up services from your hotel location, and drive towards the downtown area until arriving in the Presidential Palace La Moneda & Constitution Square where we tell you about the history of the years of dictatorship as well as the current situation in Chile.

We continue our journey to one of the oldest streets in Santiago “Wall Street” - Calle Nueva York , and walk through the commercial center of the city until arriving in the main square: Plaza de Armas. Here we give you an introduction to the history of Santiago and the importance of the place, as well as visit the Santiago Cathedral, the Mapuche monument and observe the street artists - and paintings,  the Central Post Office and the National History Museum.

We continue next to Santiago Fish Market - Central Market , where we can see local vendors selling the fresh seafood from the Chilean Pacific. We continue our adventure to the oldest bar in Santiago: La Piojera, to try out their specialty “terremoto”; earthquake, and after cross the Mapocho River to see a local fruit and vegetable market:   Tirso de Molina . 

We get back to our vehicle and proceed through the Forest Park until arriving in the Santiago Fine Arts Museum , we visit the museum and after head towards the modern area of ​​Santiago.

Our next visit takes us to the Metropolitan Park access (Pedro de Valdivia), where we hop on the cable car leading us to the San Cristobal hill summit, allowing us to see great views of the city and the Andes mountain range. 

We ride down the hill, until getting to Bellavista neighborhood; a cultural and bohemian part of the city. We explore the house of the national poet Pablo Neruda (La Chascona) , and walk along the most picturesque streets of the neighborhood, surrounded by shops, bars and restaurants.

We finish the tour and drop you off to your hotel location, leaving behind a day with the most important and picturesque places in Santiago.

Join this walking culinary tour in Santiago to experience Chile's vibrant market district first hand and discover the local culture.

You'll not only get an introduction to the fresh, simple but wholesome typical fare that Chileans eat at home, but you'll get to sample it as well.

The tour starts in the Plaza de Armas and from there you will walk your way north through La Vega Chica, La Vega Central, Tirso de Molina and Mercado Central. This will take you through the lively bustle of the real working market that supplies much of the city with its fresh goods. A blend of colors, smells, faces with just a bit of chaos.

You'll have the opportunity to try home-style dishes like Porotos (beans); enjoy a refreshing Mote con Huesillo, which Chileans themselves can’t decide if it’s a dessert or a drink; another typical Chilean drink with a history; and other typical Chilean treats. You'll also enjoy some seafood in the Mercado Central paired with a crisp glass of Chilean white wine.
