Run Tour 2023 Bogota: dates, how to register, costs and more details

RunTour 2023, the most technical and challenging 10K athletic competition in Colombia and Latin America, is coming to Bogota. The organizers of the competition affirm that the objective of the event goes beyond being just a sports race.

RunTour 2023 combines the passion for sport with the objective of contributing to social welfare. In line with this vision, runners have the opportunity to participate voluntarily by donating miles.

The 2023 event is promoted as a social responsibility platform that promotes the donation of miles to the LifeMiles Mileage Bank, in support of various social organizations that work to improve the quality of life of communities and people in vulnerable situations in Colombia.

How to participate in the Run Tour 2023: Registration fees and categories

Registration for the event is open from August 5 until October 5, or while supplies last. The cost is $125,000.

Run Tour 2023 participants will be able to register in three categories according to their age: Open, from 18 to 39 years old; Master, from 40 to 49 years old, and Plus, for participants over 50 years old.

Each participant will be given a kit, which includes the official Run Tour 2023 T-shirt. The delivery of these kits will take place at the headquarters of Compensar Avenue 68, Plaza Jubileo, located at Avenida 68 # 49 A 47.

This distribution will take place on Friday, October 6 and Saturday, October 7, 2023. It is worth mentioning that minors will not be allowed to participate in this edition.

To be part of this event, all runners must present themselves at the meeting point at the indicated time, with their competition number and official T-shirt.

Place, date and time of Run Tour 2023

The appointment to participate in the Run Tour 2023 will be on Sunday, October 8, 2023 from 8:00 a.m. For now, the starting place is at Plaza de Alfiles, on 26th Street, although the organizers emphasized that the schedules and routes are subject to change, according to the guidelines of the authorities of Bogota.

They also informed that any modification, as well as the final route, will be communicated in advance through the official website of the event and by e-mail to the participants.

Biosecurity protocols

In the event that Run Tour 2023 participants present any symptoms associated with COVID-19, such as fever, sore throat and cough, among others, they will not be able to participate in the race. This is part of the biosecurity measures.

The protocol also includes that people who have been in contact with a positive case of COVID-19 in the 14 days prior to the race will not be allowed to participate.

In case of presenting any of these situations that prevent you from participating in the Run Tour 2023, the organizers contemplate the possibility of refunds within 5 working days after the purchase, thus complying with Law 1480 of 2011, of the Consumer Statute.

Changes in registration must be requested through [email protected], so the organization can evaluate their viability.

Where will the donations of LifeMiles miles go?

The RunTour assures that the donation of LifeMiles miles will be destined to eventualities such as natural emergencies, children’s work, education, health and inclusion, among others.

Among the beneficiaries are various entities such as the Red Cross, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the National Health Institute.

According to the organizers, the donation of miles is an opportunity for all runners, with which they can contribute from 1 mile “up to the maximum limit of the miles obtained for their registration”, according to the official site of the event.

Those interested in additional donations should follow the conventional process through LifeMiles accounts. These miles will be audited annually so that donors can be sure that they will be allocated correctly, according to Avianca.

• The Latin American airline announced today a multi-year partnership with the Miami Dolphins as part of its involvement strategy in sports initiatives throughout the Americas.

Más de 8.000 atletas de diferentes nacionalidades disfrutaron en Bogotá de la décima versión de las mejores 6,2 millas de Latinoamérica, corriendo en beneficio del Banco de Millas de Avianca, un mecanismo de impacto social de la compañía.  Asi fue el Run Tour Avianca 2023

En un recorrido lineal, plano y rápido y un sistema de salida rápida que permitió mejorar el desempeño de los corredores, el  RunTour  reunió este domingo a atletas de Kenia, Perú, Ecuador y Bolivia. 

Los ganadores:

El primer lugar del  Run Tour  Avianca en la categoría Élite Masculino 10K se lo llevó el atleta Joseph Kiptum (Kenia), seguido por Segundo Jami (Ecuador) y Frank Luján (Perú), quienes ocuparon el segundo y tercer puesto, respectivamente. Por su parte la categoría Élite Femenino 10K tuvo la victoria de Mary Granja (Ecuador), quien estuvo acompañada en el podio por Zaida Ramos (Perú) y Caroline Chapkurui Tuigong (Kenia).

“Correr 10 kilómetros es un acto de libertad. De vencer todo tipo de obstáculos. Agradecemos también a nuestros aliados sociales que son quienes trabajan diariamente por mejorar las condiciones de las personas que más lo necesitan. Nuestros aviones, todos, están a su servicio”, 

Vale la pena recordar que, por la inscripción a la carrera, los corredores recibieron 325 millas LifeMiles que podían donar parcial o totalmente, de manera voluntaria, al Banco de Millas para apoyar diferentes proyectos sociales.

El  Run Tour  Avianca 2023 se corrió con el fin de seguir conectando a las regiones de Colombia, así como apoyar a cualquier persona que requiera un tratamiento médico; salvando vidas a través de programas conjuntos con la Patrulla Aérea Colombiana – PAC; ayudando a erradicar el hambre en nuestro país junto a ABACO; apoyando los proyectos educativos de los jóvenes de nuestra región con Aldeas Infantiles S.O.S y cumpliendo los sueños de más niños en alianza con  Make a Wish .

After magical, record-breaking run, Caitlin Clark bids goodbye to Iowa on social media

The long goodbye tour for Caitlin Clark ended Sunday, and the Iowa senior put a bow on it with a social media post on her Instagram story.

Clark, the all-time leading scorer in the college game, and the Hawkeyes lost to overall No. 1 seed and undefeated South Carolina in the national title game . She scored 30 points and passed Chamique Holdsclaw as the all-time leading scorer in the NCAA Tournament.

After the handshake line and post-game interviews and some tears, Clark took a moment to reflect on her four years in Iowa City. She posted a photo of her No. 22 jersey and her right shoe with the message "I'll miss ya" followed by seven golden hearts.

Later Sunday evening, Clark shared another message of love and gratitude for Iowa, this time on X (formerly Twitter).

Clark won't have much time to rest . The Indiana Fever are expected to take her with their No. 1 pick in the WNBA draft on April 15. Training camps open April 28.

Runtour Avianca: La carrera que todos pueden correr

El RunTour Avianca, sin duda el 10 K más técnico de Colombia y Latinoamérica vuelve en formato presencial este 4 de diciembre de 2022. El epicentro del evento será la Plazoleta de Alfiles sobre la Calle 26 de Bogotá y desde allí se recorrerán 10 kilómetros de vías en un trazado muy rápido y plano para que los amantes del running busquen lograr sus mejores marcas. La citación al calentamiento es a las 8:00 a.m. para dar la partida a las 9:00 a.m.

El evento ha anunciado un cupo para 8.000 atletas, quienes desde hoy podrán inscribirse en la página www.runtouravianca.com . Las tarifas de inscripción iniciarán en $100.000 pesos y la misma estará vigente hasta el 2 de agosto, cuando el valor aumentará a $105.000 pesos.

Los grupos de corredores organizados en empresas, parques, colegios, gimnasios o grupos de amigos podrán disfrutar de un descuento cuando realicen la inscripción de más de 10 personas. Los representantes de estos equipos podrán hacer sus registros a través de la página web.

We begin our Moscow tour beneath the city, exploring the underground palace of the Moscow Metro. From the Square of Revolution station, famous for its huge statues of soviet people (an armed soldier, a farmer with a rooster, a warrior, and more), we’ll move onto some of the most significant stations, where impressive mosaics, columns, and chandeliers will boggle your eyes! Moreover, these stations reveal a big part of soviet reality — the walls depict plenty of Propaganda , with party leaders looking down from images on the walls. Your local guide will share personal stories of his/her family from USSR times, giving you insight into Russia’s complicated past and present. Then we’re coming back up to street level, where we’ll take a break and refuel with some Russian fast food: traditional pancakes, called bliny. And then, stomachs satiated, we are ready to move forward! We’ll take the eco-friendly electric trolleybus, with a route along the Moscow Garden Ring. Used mainly by Russian babushkas(grannies) during the day, the trolleybus hits peak hours in the mornings and evenings, when many locals use it going to and from their days. Our first stop will be the Aviator’s House, one of Stalin’s Seven Sisters, followed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs — and you’ll hear the legends of what has gone on inside the walls. Throughout your Moscow tour, you’ll learn curious facts from soviet history while seeing how Russia exists now, 25 years after the USSR.

Erik on Tour: We'll take strongest squad

Erik ten Hag is fully focused on ensuring Manchester United have a positive finish to the 2023/24 season, but planning for next term is already well under way.

The manager has shed some light on that preparation, explaining how he will use the strongest possible squad across the club’s pre-season friendlies.

There will be one main group, as opposed to last year’s split selections and, although international tournaments will have an impact, Erik wanted to emphasise that all those who are fit and available would be making the various trips.

“We have a strong first-team squad there with players that can present themselves to the fans, but especially to us. They have the levels to play in our team for next season,” the boss told us recently, when asked who would represent the club in the summer.

“There will be a mix, with experienced players together with some young players.

“[The squad will be] as strong as possible, but of course the players who go far in the Copa America and the Euros will not be involved.” 

Erik’s update on Tour preparations

Tour 2024 | Erik ten Hag says United’s approach to the US portion of pre-season will be slightly different…

Five pre-season fixtures have been announced so far to help the squad get ready for the 2024/25 campaign.

The Reds take on Rosenborg in Trondheim , the day after the Euros and Copa America conclude, before facing Rangers in Edinburgh .

We will then travel to the United States for a second consecutive year, for a tour that involves two games on the west coast, against Arsenal in Los Angeles and Real Betis in San Diego , plus a meeting with arch-rivals Liverpool in South Carolina .

The Reds have tweaked the approach in America this summer, with travel reduced as California will be the main base, Erik explained:

“We had a good time there [in the US last year]. [This time] we will do things slightly different. We will stay longer in the base camp and not so much travelling any more. We will play again against strong opponents.

“Pre-season is about preparing for the season and we have to make that our next step.

“It is one of the only times when you have the team together, and you can work in training on structures, the way of play, but also on certain standards around the team and that’s very important to take this period and use it effectively.”

Ten Hag also pointed out how pre-season is often the best chance for supporters to be introduced to summer arrivals, like Mason Mount and Andre Onana in 2023, or the stars of tomorrow.

Kobbie Mainoo stood out last year, before his breakthrough season, while Omari Forson and Willy Kambwala were also involved. There could be an opportunity for others to follow in their footsteps this time around.

“I think that is, for the fans overseas, really exciting,” Erik said. “We will bring players like Kobbie - who was very unknown by that time, and now everyone knows him.

“So if you want to have the first glimpse of players - maybe new players or young players who are coming up through the Academy, then this is your opportunity.”
