Today, S Club celebrate their 25-year legacy with the release of their first new music in 20 years with new single ‘ These Are The Days ’, out the 26th July.

Bradley, Jo, Jon, Rachel and Tina will release their first single in twenty years “These Are The Days” , written by the band’s original No.1 hit songwriting team of Cathy Dennis, Simon Ellis, Johanne Ellis and producer John Nathaniel. The track pays tribute to their former friend and beloved S Club member Paul Cattermole with a moving film story that ends with S Club revealed as the five piece pop act that they are today.

The single is set to mark the British group’s 25 th anniversary and a sold out 15 date UK arena tour planned for Autumn 2023 which has been renamed “ S Club: The Good Times Tour ” as a tribute to Paul by taking the name of an S Club song and a big fan favourite on which he sang lead vocals.

Formed by Simon Fuller, the 25 th anniversary tour is an opportunity for S Club fans of every generation to come together and re-experience the timeless pop hits that soundtracked the British charts for five years. Collectively, S Club amassed four UK number one singles with ‘ Bring It All Back ’, ‘ Never Had a Dream Come True ’, ‘ Don’t Stop Movin ’, and ‘ Have You Ever ’, as well as the UK number one album ‘ 7 ’. They recorded 4 studio albums, released 11 singles that all entered the Top 5 UK charts, and went on to sell over 10 million albums worldwide.

With 4 multi-platinum selling albums, 2 BRIT Awards, and 9 number-one international hit singles to their name, S Club is a household name that is once again ready to rise.

‘These Are The Days’ is out on the 26th July via Universal Music UK as part of a brand new global partnership.

S Club 7 set to perform in Manchester in 25 year comeback tour

Their 25th anniversary tour is sure to ‘bring it all back to you’

Avatar photo

S Club 7 have announced they will reunite to mark 25 years in their UK comeback tour, and are set to perform in Manchester later this year.

The Brit pop group had hits throughout the late nineties and early noughties such as ‘Reach’, ‘Bring It All Back’ and ‘Don’t Stop Movin’’, which were popular with many youngsters at the time.

All seven original members: Tina Barrett, Paul Cattermole, Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh, Jo O’Meara, Hannah Spearritt and now solo singer Rachel Stevens, will come together once more to mark the quarter of a century milestone.

Fans can prepare to be transported back to their youth, and re-enact old dance routines, as the group will perform on stage together again at Manchester’s AO Arena on Saturday, October 21st.

🎉S CLUB 7 REUNITED 🎉 Who's ready for an S Club Party?! S Club 7 have confirmed a huge reunion tour for October to celebrate their 25 year anniversary! 📅 Don't miss out, tickets on sale Friday 17 Feb at 10:00 >> https://t.co/zfnueTBsjB @SClub7 pic.twitter.com/4HTxpX7JJZ — ticketmasteruk (@TicketmasterUK) February 13, 2023

In a statement released by the band, they said; “After eight years it feels amazing to announce that we’re reuniting and performing together again. We’re so excited to bring the S Club party back to our fans across the country to celebrate 25 years of S Club 7.

“We can’t even believe it’s been so long. Music and friendship have always been at the core of everything that we’ve ever done. We hope everyone can join us for one big party.”

The seven-piece group were originally created by former Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller in 1998 and first came to public attention in 1999, when they starred in their own television series, ‘Miami 7’.

s club 7 tour manchester

After they called it a day, the members went on to explore other pursuits, with Stevens pursuing a solo music career and competing on Strictly Come Dancing, as well as Dancing On Ice.

Spearritt became a TV actress and had roles in ITV’s Primeval, while Lee performed in West End shows including Les Miserables and Jersey Boys. McIntosh, O’Meara and Cattermole later became members of the spin-off group S Club Allstars, previously S Club 3, with Barrett joining them in 2014.

O’Meara, who also released solo music and appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2007, where, alongside Jade Goody and Danielle Lloyd she found herself embroiled in a racism row involving fellow competitor Shilpa Shetty. She has also gone through a number of back operations but says she now feels ‘ready’ to get back on stage.

Tickets for S Club 7’s comeback tour go on sale on Friday and can be purchased via the Ticketmaster website.

Liam Gallagher reveals son Gene’s band to open for him on Definitely Maybe anniversary tour

He revealed the news responding to a fan on social media – as you do!

s club 7 tour manchester

Liam Gallagher has said his son Gene and his band Villanelle will support him on his upcoming Definitely Maybe anniversary tour.

The indie-rocker took to X (formerly Twitter) to reply to a fan who said they like Gene’s band and asked what Liam thought of them.

In his response, Liam said he thinks the band are ‘good’ and announced they will be ‘first on’ for his Definitely Maybe tour.

s club 7 tour manchester

Gene, 22, is Liam’s youngest son and is the frontman and guitarist for the recently formed band Villanelle.

The band is set to hit the UK festival scene this summer, releasing their new music along the way, and will also be first up to support LG alongside the likes of music legends including Cast and The View.

Although the newbies haven’t officially released any tracks just yet, they have recently been spotted supporting Brummie band the Overpass on tour, and performed at King Tut’s in Glasgow on March 21st.

s club 7 tour manchester

Clips online hint that Gene will most likely take after his dad and go on to create some classic British indie-rock tunes.

Aside from the upcoming Definitely Maybe 30th anniversary tour, Liam has a big year and is currently touring with John Squire, formerly of the Stone Roses, to support their joint, self-titled album. The pair performed live at Manchester Apollo last month and reviews are looking pretty positive for these two rock legends.

Liam will be coming to Manchester’s brand-new Co-op Live arena on his Definitely Maybe 30th anniversary tour on June 15th and 16th, with a final Manchester date on June 27th.

It’s not clear which tour dates Gene will be supporting his dad on but we look forward to seeing him live.

Liam Gallagher says Noel ‘turned down’ reunion for Definitely Maybe tour

There’s no sign of them burying the hatchet yet

s club 7 tour manchester

Liam Gallagher claims he asked Noel to reunite for the Definitely Maybe 30th Anniversary tour later this year but that he ‘refused’.

The former Oasis frontman shared details of his upcoming tour – to celebrate 30 years of Oasis’ seminal 1994 album – back in October.

So, a solo Liam will play their iconic debut album in full, including tracks ‘Live Forever’, ‘Supersonic’, ‘Slide Away’ and ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’.

The indie-rocker also teased he’ll be playing ‘naughty’ B-sides from the era.

s club 7 tour manchester

He’ll be kicking off the 12-date tour in Sheffield on June 2nd, heading to Cardiff for a night, then onto London for four, followed by three dates in his native Manchester at the Co-op Live arena .

From there, Liam will play two dates in Glasgow and two in Dublin, before heading back to Manchester for the finale.

Speaking to MOJO recently, Liam said that his brother refused to put aside their differences and join him on the 30th anniversary tour. He said: “Noel? He ain’t f**king doing it.”

“I did call him! Well, my people called Noel’s management team,” he told the publication.

s club 7 tour manchester

“We put an offer on the table for an Oasis thing – because we got offered it – and he said no. It was a big tour, a lot of money. He turned it down. I get it, he’s got a divorce going down. I’ll do the ‘Definitely Maybe’ thing and have a nice time without him.”

On whether next year could see the feuding pair finally make amends and reunite for t he anniversary of second album ‘(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?’, Liam said: “It’s down to the universe. It’ll happen when it happens, it’s not in our hands anymore.”

Either way, it seems Liam is up for the tour with or without him as he added: “Me, I love nostalgia though. I’m doing the lot. Every album, even… what was the last one?”

But are you going to give us the surprise that Noel is going to join the DM tour or not, Liam? 🤨 — 𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘯 (Makarov's version) ♡ (@sadtanasx) October 17, 2023

It’s not the first time Liam has claimed his estranged brother has turned down his offer to get back together.

Back in October, a fan asked whether he’d give us the surprise of joining him on the DM tour, to which Liam responded: “He’s been asked and he’s refused.”

It comes after Noel told talkSport radio back in May that he was ‘open to a phone call’ from Liam but said that he wouldn’t dare and accused him of being a ‘coward’.

He continued: “He doesn’t have to speak to me. He won’t speak to me, he’s a coward. So he should get some of his people, his agent, to call my people and say, ‘Look, this is what we’re thinking.’ And then we’ll have a conversation about it. Until then, he’s being a little bit disingenuous.”

s club 7 tour manchester

He added that Liam is guilty of getting ‘people’s hopes up’ with his post on social media.

But Liam hit back with a string of posts on social media saying it wasn’t true and that Noel just ‘hates Oasis fans’.

The band parted ways in 2009 and ever since, the bickering brothers have exchanged spats publicly while being asked about whether a reunion may be on the cards one day.

Regarding the 30th Anniversary of Definitely Maybe, Noel confirmed in April last year that an Oasis reunion would not be happening any time soon but did confirm plans of a reissue of the record to mark the occasion.

s club 7 tour manchester

The singer-songwriter also added that there had ‘never really been a serious offer about ‘The Big O’ getting back together’.

Earlier this year, as he reflected on their split, Liam accused Noel of throwing him ‘under the f**king bus’ at the time.

Liam is now focusing his attention on his much anticipated collaborative, self-titled album with Stone Roses guitarist John Squires, which is out on March 1st. The pair will also announce details of an upcoming tour.

Wigan Casino to celebrate 50th anniversary with Northern Soul all-nighter

The rarest Northern Soul record was recently sold for £100k

s club 7 tour manchester

The legendary Wigan Casino will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a special Northern Soul all-nighter after its last song, Frank Wilson’s ‘Do I Love You (Indeed I Do), played in 1981 and it shut its doors for good.

The all-nighter will play on BBC Radio 6 Music, featuring all the – often B-side – bangers discovered in Motown vaults from the likes of The Supremes, Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, Dobie Gray, Yvonne Baker, and many more.

From its opening in 1973, Wigan Casino saw crowds of music lovers desperate to dance the night away to all of the latest vinyl records, getting dropped off by the coach load outside the venue – the former Empress Ballroom.

s club 7 tour manchester

Several DJs including Russ Winstanley, Ian Fishwick, Kev Roberts and Richard Searling would take turns in spinning the decks for clubbers who would queue for hours just to get a taste of the action in the main dance hall.

Wigan Casino’s very last all-nighter was played on December 6th 1981 from midnight to the early morning, played by DJ Russ Winstanley.

Now, 50 years after the legendary night began, a special edition of Northern Soul programming dedicated to Wigan Casino will kick off on Saturday September 9th until 8pm on Sunday September 10th, on BBC Radio 6 Music.

s club 7 tour manchester

The tracks will be played across The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show alongside a broadcast of Stuart Maconie’s Northern Soul Prom, which was recorded at the Royal Albert Hall in July.

Kicking off the programme on Saturday, from 6pm to 9pm, Craig’s show will feature a ten-piece soul house band – The Signatures – and special guests including Wigan Casino DJ Richard Searling and R&B group The Flirtations.

Craig will also be going in search of the rarest Northern Soul record, which was recently sold for £100,000 – can you guess which one it was?

s club 7 tour manchester

Then, from 9pm-12am, Craig will join Stuart to introduce a broadcast of the Northern Soul Prom – recorded with the BBC Concert Orchestra.

It features Brendan Reilly, Darrell Smith, Frida Mariama Touray, Natalie Palmer, Nick Shirm and Vula Malinga as they perform the likes of You’re Gonna Make Me Love You, Open the Door to Your Heart and Hold Back The Night.

Stuart Maconie says: “Northern Soul was and is one of the most thrilling and vital music subcultures ever.

s club 7 tour manchester

“It’s a dynamic, sympathetic union of the sounds and dreams of generations in the industrial heartlands of the North and Midlands of the UK and their counterparts in New York, Detroit, Philadelphia and beyond.

“At the heart of the scene is this wonderful, dramatic, vibrant and inspirational music, as well as the passion and knowledge of its devotees.

“They brought the communal rapture of the Northern Soul clubs and dancehalls to the Royal Albert Hall, which was on its feet on every tier for the Prom. It was a night the like of which that grand and esteemed old building has never seen before.”

s club 7 tour manchester

From 12am-4am, 6 Music begins an audio tour of the UK’s iconic all-nighter venues, with hour-long playlists by DJs who were there at Golden Torch (12am-1am), Wigan Casino (1am-2am), Twisted Wheel (2am-3am) and 100 Club (3am-4am).

These key figures from the scene share stories and songs, taking listeners back to the dance floors of these legendary spaces.

From 4am-7am, 6 Music’s Morning After Mix, Northern Soul Special, brings listeners a playlist of mellow soul numbers, featuring classic ballads and as well as contemporary selections.

s club 7 tour manchester

Stuart returns to the airwaves an hour earlier than usual at 7am on Sunday morning (September 10th) to present Lights On With Stuart Maconie.

He’ll bring the party to a close and bring listeners the original versions of Wigan Casino’s famous Three Before Eight – Time Will Pass You By by Tobi Legend, Long After Tonight Is All Over by Jimmy Radcliffe and I’m On My Way by Dean Parrish.

The Wigan Casino 50th anniversary special on BBC Radio 6 Music can be listened to via BBC Sounds from 6pm on September 9th – 8pm on September 10th. You can also tune in via DAB Digital Radio, Freeview, Sky TV, and supported mobile devices.

Due to phenomenal demand... (contains affiliate links)

Daisy Jackson

Pop icons S Club 7 have added extra dates to their reunion tour due to phenomenal demand, including an extra night in Manchester.

The British pop group announced a huge tour, with all seven members, last week, to celebrate their 25th anniversary.

The announcement came after months of speculation from fans, with 11 arena shows initially confirmed.

But now Bradley, Hannah, Jo, Jon, Paul, Rachel, and Tina have added extra dates to meet demand, after multiple dates sold out.

S Club 7 will play extra gigs in Manchester and Birmingham, plus a new matinee show at The O2 in London this October.

They’ll now be at the AO Arena on 12 October (the opening night of the tour) and 21 October 2023.

The Reach singers said in a statement: “It’s so good to be back!! We have all been so overwhelmed by the response following the tour announcement.

“Thanks again for all the lovely messages and support, it means the world to us. It’s such fun seeing ourselves back on TV, on the radio and on the front pages of newspapers and being added to playlists…

“We can’t wait to see you all in October.”

Just a day before the venue was set to welcome its very first act, Co-op Live has announced that arena opener Peter Kay’s gigs have unfortunately been cancelled and postponed until later this month.

Both of Peter Kay ‘s highly-anticipated shows have ultimately had to be called off after Co-op Live revealed that the brand-new entertainment venue is simply not ready to welcome guests just yet, with work still to be completed on key areas of the building, namely power supply issues.

Issuing a regretful statement on social media, the arena has confirmed that the shows will now be rescheduled to Monday and Tuesday, 29-30 April.

This comes barely a day after its official opening event this past weekend which also saw thousands have their tickets cancelled for the accompanying ‘test gig’.

An important update from Co-op Live. Following our first test event on Saturday, regretfully we have made the difficult decision to reschedule our two opening performances by Peter Kay. These dates will move from 23 April and 24 Wednesday to Monday 29 and Tuesday 30 April. pic.twitter.com/SxW50Ph5hm — Co-op Live (@TheCoopLive) April 22, 2024

Addressing the situation online, Co-op Live said: “Following our first test event on Saturday, regretfully we have made the difficult decision to reschedule our two opening performances by Peter Kay…

“It is critical to ensure we have a consistent total power supply to our fully electric sustainable venue, the completion of which is a few days behind. Rescheduling gives us the extra time we need to continue testing thoroughly.

“This is vital to satisfy the rigorous set of guidelines and protocols that are necessary for a venue of this size. Peter Kay has very graciously agreed to perform his record-breaking comedy at Co-op Live on 29 (rescheduled from 23) and 30 (rescheduled from 24) April 2024.

“All tickets remain valid and ticket holders will be contacted by their point of purchase. Refunds will be available for those who can no longer attend. We are very sorry for the inconvenience that this change will undoubtedly cause for some.” Safe to say many of those looking forward to the show have been left frustrated.

Please tell me why I am finding this out of flipping TWITTER and have not been emailed?! — 🧜🏽‍♀️ Lauren Sparks – Book Siren 🧜🏽‍♀️ (@thickthighnolie) April 22, 2024

Speaking to The Manc , a Stockport gig-goer who had tickets said they had to find out via social media and that her group had still received no email notifying them about the cancellation, adding, “We just logged into the app to find the date on our tickets had been changed to next Monday”.

As for the beloved Bolton -born stand-up and British comedy legend himself, Kay added: “I’m truly gutted as I know how disappointing this will be for everyone with tickets, but obviously it’s a brand-new venue and it’s important that everything is finished and safe for full capacity audiences.

“Fortunately, we’ve been able to reschedule the shows to next week, (I’ll have to miss my Bums & Tums class) but hopefully I’ll see you then.”

The venue also went on to assure that they will still be hosting The Black Keys on 27 April in the lower bowl with 10k fans as planned and will continue to test the resilience of the venue and its operations for the time being.

They also reminded fans who previously missed out on tickets that due to dates being moved, tickets may now become available.

At long last, Manchester’s huge new arena, the Co-op Live, is up and running.

The venue has been under construction near the Etihad Stadium for several years, and now the gargantuan space has hosted its first event.

Although the Co-op Live doesn’t officially launch until Tuesday, a test event last night saw Everything Everything and Rick Astley performing to a smaller crowd.

The £365m music venue is the largest indoor venue in the UK, with an overall capacity of 23,500 fans.

Not only has Harry Styles invested in the arena, he’s also consulted on several elements of the build.

It’s hoped that it will provide the best possible gig-going experience both for artists and fans.

And Harry popped up to say hello at the test event… via screen.

Other famous faces offering video endorsements included Phil Foden and David Beckham.

At last night’s test event, the first fans through the door were treated to a vast space bathed in blue (that might have something to do with its links to the City Football Group…) and got to see inside the huge arena space itself, which has the largest floor space of any indoor arena.

The Co-op Live isn’t actually quite finished yet – still to come will be 32 bars, restaurants and lounges around and inside the site.

And last night’s event didn’t go without its hiccups, with many fans finding that their tickets for Rick Astley had been cancelled with just hours to go.

Co-op Live's launch event

Co-op Live said in a statement yesterday: “We’re busy putting the finishing touches on Co-op Live, and we are looking forward to Co-op Live becoming the pre-eminent arena in the UK upon opening.

“As a part of the opening process, we are in the midst of an extensive protocol of testing critical procedures. To enable us to test the spaces effectively, we have made the difficult decision to reduce overall capacity for today’s test event.

“We apologise to affected guests and look forward to welcoming them to The Black Keys.”

After the official launch on Tuesday 23 April, acts lined up in the coming weeks will include Take That, Olivia Rodrigo, The Black Keys and Nicki Minaj.

S Club on stage at the AO Arena in Manchester.

S Club review – poignant posthumous tour is comfortingly nostalgic

AO Arena, Manchester Shadows from the recent death of Paul Cattermole are acknowledged but do not hamper the bright, bouncy fun

P op music rarely makes us think about mortality. But it’s something that hangs heavily over S Club tonight, the teenage pop group who came to prominence as S Club 7 on the 90s kids TV show Miami 7, who now return after the sudden death of member Paul Cattermole at 46 earlier this year.

With Hannah Spearritt leaving the group, S Club come back as five, stepping out in glittery bright outfits with each member in blue, red, yellow, pink and green – almost recalling the Power Rangers. Which feels apt, because this is very much a plunge back in time to the era of Saturday morning kids TV as pop phenomenon.

The opening S Club Party reminds us there’s no party like an S Club party but it’s one that’s feeling a little dated and tired. The choreographed dance moves are very old school and there’s lots of gesturing, waving and blowing kisses to the audience, while it becomes clear the backing track they all sing on top of is going to be doing a hell of a lot of heavy lifting.

Reach for the stars … Rachel Stevens, Jo O'Meara, and Tina Barrett.

There are plenty of moments of bright, bubbly, bouncy fun; be it the 60s girl group swing of You’re My Number One, the funk-pop of Bring the House Down, or the disco-indebted Don’t Stop Movin’ – which acts as a potent reminder of its once inescapable ubiquity.

An extensive video tribute to Cattermole marks the halfway point as S Club return dressed in black. “We miss you every single day,” says Bradley McIntosh, holding back tears, before they “bring it back for Paul” via the school disco anthem Bring It All Back.

Production-wise, this isn’t a blockbuster pop show. There’s a staircase the band walk up and down a bit, a sliding door they enter in and out of, and some fairly basic visuals and lights. It’s not explosive, dynamic or unpredictable but familiar, safe, and reliable. But perhaps this is intentional. Existing to soothe and comfort, and to reinstate a feeling of vigour, hope and optimism after a period, for fans and members, of turbulence and loss.

S Club Good Times Tour Setlist in Full 2023: Songs for concert at Manchester AO Arena

S Club 7 Good Times Tour

We all know there ain't no party like an S Club Party .

From debut Number 1 single Bring It All Back to disco delight Don't Stop Movin' , karaoke classic Reach and everything in between, Jo O'Meara, Bradley McIntosh, Rachel Stevens, Tina Barrett and Jon Lee are set to play sold-out arenas across the UK and Ireland on The Good Times Tour.

The group - currently a five-piece following the departure of Hannah Spearritt - explain that the tour will pay tribute to their late bandmate Paul Cattermole , who tragically died in March 2023 aged 46.

If you're heading along to one of the shows, check out everything you need to know below - from expected setlist inclusions to stage times and S Club's support act Now United.

S club's the good times tour setlist 2023: what songs will the band perform.

The group are yet to reveal their setlist ahead of The Good Times Tour's opening night at Manchester's AO Arena on October 12.

However, we have had some teasers.

We'll no doubt be expecting to see such hits as Never Had a Dream Come True , Natural and Two in a Million on tour, and we'd put money on the group's brand-new reunion single These Are The Days getting a spot on the setlist, too.

But which deep cuts will we be getting?

Speaking to exclusively to Official Charts recently, Jo and Bradley ruled out the prospect of a five-piece performance Sunshine album track Good Times, from which the tour takes its name, given Paul's prominent lead vocal. The pair cited that it simply 'wouldn't feel right.'

Speaking on setlist options, Jo explained: "The setlist is coming along well. We did put it out to the fans, asking what they’d want to see, and we’ve been inundated. We’re going to be on stage for about eight hours [laughs]. We’re trying to take on board everything the fans have asked for, compact it all in and all the hits will be in there too, of course."

Oh, and Bradley reckons Perfect Christmas should be on there. Brilliant.

On their 2015 reunion tour, each member performed a solo track; including a Sweet Dreams My LA Ex and Some Girls medley from Rachel Stevens. Could we expect the same this time around? Time will tell.

S Club Opens Reunion Tour With Paul Cattermole Tribute: ‘You’ll Never Be Forgotten’

By Larisha Paul

Larisha Paul

The opening show of S Club ‘s long-awaited 25th-anniversary reunion tour was as much a celebration of their time together as it was a celebration of Paul Cattermole, the longtime member of the British pop group who died earlier this year from an underlying heart condition at the age of 46.

Kicking off the tour in Manchester at AO Arena, the group — now a five-piece following the death of Cattermole in April and the departure of singer Hannah Spearrit — reunited for the first time in eight years. On stage, they took stock of how much has changed in just the last six months.

“That’s our brother right there, man,” Bradley McIntosh said at the show, glancing up at the emotion-stirring montage of images highlighting Cattermole throughout his life. “Gone, but you’ll never be forgotten. We miss you every single day.”

McIntosh performed throughout the night alongside his group mates Tina Barrett, Jon Lee, Jo O’Meara, and Rachel Stevens. The montage played during their performance of “Good Times” and featured footage of Cattermole singing the deep cut from 2001’s Sunshine .

In her tribute to Cattermole, O’Meara added: “Thank you so much [for] all the messages and love and support you’ve all shown all of us and to Paul’s family. We are so grateful for every single one of you.” Before playing their debut single “Bring It All Back,” Barrett thanked the crowd, saying: “Thank you so much Manchester. Tonight is a celebration so let’s bring it all back for Paul.”

For Stevens, it was all a display of how far they’ve come and all that they have built over the past 25 years. “Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts for all the love and support, all the incredible messages you’ve sent through this time, and all your support always,” she said. “We love you so much.”

This setlist is representative of one show on S Club's tour, and other gigs may differ.

How did S Club announce their tour?

S Club announced their reunion tour back in February 2023, originally called 'S Club 7 Reunited Tour', however, just weeks after S Club 7 announced their reunion tour would take place, the sad news came that Paul Cattermole had passed away at the age of 46 on 6th April.

Following this sad news, fans were wondering if their tour would go ahead, however on 14th May, the band confirmed it would in an emotional statement .

Tina Barrett, Bradley McIntosh, Jo O'Meara, Jon Lee and Rachel Stevens confirmed in an emotional video that they would be renaming the tour as 'The Good Times Tour'. This is named after the song that Paul was going to sing. Sadly Hannah Spearritt is also not joining them on tour, she has now been announced to take part in Dancing On Ice.

Revealing the exciting reunion news on Thursday 16th February they shared a throwback photo saying: 'GENERAL SALE LIVE at 10AM GMT tomorrow, Friday 17th February, with a SECOND LONDON SHOW at the O2 on 27th October! Who's ready?!?! 🪩🫶🏼'. (sic)

Speaking on reuniting, the band said: "After eight years it feels amazing to announce that we're reuniting and performing together again. Will S Club be releasing new music?

Initially, S Club say they wouldn't be releasing new music before their tour, however, in July 2023, the band did release a new song, as a tribute to the late Paul Cattermole. The song ' These Are The Days ' was their first new music in more than 20 years.

Don't forget you can hear some great throwback songs on Hits Radio.

Take a look through some of the biggest pop comebacks:

Girls aloud.

Girls Aloud, made up of Cheryl Tweedy, Kimberley Walsh, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Nadine Coyle, were formed on ITV talent show Popstars: The Rivals in 2002 and went on to become one of the UK's biggest girl groups, famous for songs 'The Promise', 'Sound Of The Underground' and 'Biology'. After reigning supreme at the top of the charts for a number of years, the girls decided to take a hiatus in 2009 to pursue solo projects and promised that they would reunite in 2010 to release another album. Girls Aloud briefly interrupted the hiatus to do two shows supporting Coldplay along with Jay-Z at Wembley Stadium. The studio album never happened, though, and it took three years for Girls Aloud to reunite for the group's 10th anniversary. In 2012, they released single 'Something New', a greatest hits album and a farewell tour called 'TEN'. After the tour, they announced that they had decided to split in a statement released on Twitter. Although the girls had plans to reunite for their 20th anniversary, Sarah Harding was diagnosed with cancer and sadly passed away in 2021, with the girls admitting at the time they were in the right mindset. In November 2023, Cheryl, Kimberley, Nicola and Nadine confirmed plans of a 2024, which will be 'celebration of Sarah'. The tour will see the band play dates in the UK and Ireland across May and June 2024.

In March 2023, Busted announced they would be reuniting to celebrate their 20th anniversary. Known for hits such as '3AM' and 'Crashed the Wedding', the band started in 2000, before having a hiatus between 2005 and 2015. Busted reunited in 2015, before starting another hiatus in 2019, but as of 2023 they are back with an arena tour planned in September 2023.

Even though Take That's split in 1996 caused many heartbroken fans to take the day off school (a helpline was also created), they DELIGHTED us all in 2005 when they confirmed that they will be 'back for good' with comeback single 'Patience'. Even though Robbie Williams has made a few appearances with the group since the comeback (he originally refused to come back after he left in 1995), Take That currently consists of Howard Donald, Mark Owen and Gary Barlow. Jason Orange also left the band for good in 2014. Take That are still very much together and their comeback is considered to be one of the most successful of all time.

Irish boyband Boyzone made their way into our hearts when they were formed in 1993, but it was single 'Love Me For A Reason', released in 1994, that broke them into the British charts. The band was originally made up of Keith Duffy alongside Michael Graham, Ronan Keating, Shane Lynch and the late Stephen Gately – who sadly died in 2009 aged 33. Boyzone split in 1999 to pursue solo projects. They did a brief tour in Ireland in early January 2000 before going their separate ways. They reformed in 2007, announcing a tour for the following year. Boyzone toured again in 2009, their last as a five. In 2018, Boyzone released album 'Thank You and Goodnight' with artists Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran writing for the band's final album which also marked their 25-year anniversary. Despite the band saying they will be splitting for good following their 'Thank You and Goodnight' tour, lead singer Ronan Keating has admitted that the Boyzone book will never be fully closed and there's even talk of a Boyzone movie!

Jonas Brothers

Disney channel favourites the Jonas Brothers, made up of Joe, Nick and Kevin, enjoyed HUGE success when they burst on the pop/rock scene in 2005 but they also endured a lot of drama. In 2013, brothers Nick Jonas and Kevin Jonas decided to take a hiatus from the group and cancelled 23 tour dates between October and December, citing a "deep rift within the band" over "creative differences." Then in February 2019, the Jonas Brothers announced their comeback via social media and released single 'Sucker'. Jonas Brothers have continued to release music since reforming and in 2023 they are set to perform a one-off gig in London for fans called One Night Only Jonas Brothers.

Spice Girls

Girl Power ruled the 90s, didn't it? The Spice Girls, made up of Mel B, Mel C, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell and Victoria Beckham, ruled the charts until 1998 when Geri decided to leave citing exhaustion and creative differences. The group's final album, 'Forever' was released in 2000. The band have made three comebacks since, first in 2007 and 2012 with Victoria Beckham and again in 2019 without her. To mark the 25th anniversary of debut single 'Wannabe', an EP was released in July 2021 that included previously unreleased demos. The Spice Girls then released 'Spice25', a deluxe reissue of Spice featuring previously unreleased demos and remixes.

Steps, made up of Claire Richards, Faye Tozer, Ian 'H' Watkins, Lee Latchford-Evans and Lisa Scott-Lee, delighted fans in 2020 when they announced their comeback - 23 years after their music debut. The band exploded onto the pop music scene in 1997 with hits such as 'Tragedy' and '5,6,7,8'. They even supported Britney Spears on tour in the US in 1999. However, the band shocked everyone on Boxing Day in 2001 when they announced that they had split. They briefly reunited in 2011 and 2012 to perform a 12-date arena tour. They then promised fans that there was new music to come. It took a few years, but the band released their fifth studio album, Tears on the Dancefloor, on 21st April 2017. The group are now back having released seven studio albums to date.

Known for songs 'Swear It Again', 'If I Let You Go' and 'Flying Without Wings', Irish group Westlife, who were originally made up of Nicky Byrne, Brian McFadden, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily, and Shane Filan formed in 1998. However, in 2004, Brian decided to leave the band to spend more time with his family and has no plans to rejoin the group despite being on 'good terms' with the boys. Before their split in 2011, the group released 13 albums, embarked on 12 world tours, earned 28 platinum discs and sold more than 55 million records across the globe. In October 2018, Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily, and Shane Filan reunited on the band's 20th anniversary and released comeback album 'Spectrum' with the help of Ed Sheeran. They also announced a huge tour including two Belfast dates and a massive gig at Croke Park. In November 2021, the boys released their album 'Wild Dreams' before going on tour in 2022.

Swedish pop legends ABBA never actually split, but they 'parted ways' after winning Eurovision with 'Waterloo' in 1974 and quickly rising to global stardom. In 2018, the band announced they were going to be releasing brand new music for the first time in 35 years. The band, made up of Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, Agnetha Fältskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad, announced the exciting news on Instagram. In 2021, the new music was finally released and named a new project 'ABBA Voyage'. The band released an album called 'Voyage' on 5th November 2021, with tracks 'I Still Have Faith In You' and 'Don't Shut Me Down'.

Backstreet Boys

American boy band Backstreet Boys, made up of Nick Carter, A.J. McLean, Kevin Richardson, Brian Littrell and Howie Dorough, ruled the charts in the late 90s with hits such as 'I Want It That Way' and 'Everybody'. In 2006, Kevin decided to leave the band to pursue other interests and although the band continued without him, it took until 2012 for Kevin to rejoin them. The group enjoyed another stint at the top of the charts when they celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2013 and have since made surprise comebacks every few years to the delight of their fans. In 2023, the boys are on their 'DNA' tour.

Destiny's Child

Made up Beyoncé Knowles, Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland, Destiny's Child's biggest hits included 'Survivor', 'Say My Name' and 'Bills, Bills, Bills'. The group went their separate ways following a farewell performance at the 2006 NBA All-Star Game and went on to have solo careers. However, the girls are still close and have reunited a couple of times over the years, including at Beyonce's 2013 Super Bowl performance and again at Coachella in 2018. Speaking about the group's unbreakable bond, Beyoncé told Entertainment Tonight: "It's 20 years. We've known each other for so long and the industry doesn't really make friendships. It's the nature of it, and we still have each other after all these years."

With Number 1 songs like 'C'est la Vie', 'Rollercoaster', 'To You I Belong' and 'Blame It on the Weatherman', Irish girl group B*Witched enjoyed a huge amount of success in the 90s. 25 years later twin sisters Edele and Keavy Lynch, along with Lindsay Armaou and Sinéad O'Carroll, announced they would be reuniting to celebrate their 25th anniversary and releasing a new song called 'Birthday'.

The X Factor has produced some pretty impressive groups over the years. In 2008, all singing and dancing JLS, consisting of Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes, Oritse Williams and JB Gill, were born. The four-piece enjoyed huge success with singles 'Beat Again' and 'Everybody in Love' but announced their intention to split in 2013 with a farewell tour and compilation album. The boys delighted fans in 2020 when they revealed plans to reunite after seven years apart. However, their comeback 'Beat Again' tour was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic and was rescheduled to October 2021. The band have now announced another tour called: 'EVERYBODY SAY JLS: The Hits Tour'.

Back in the late 90s and early 2000s seven-piece pop group S Club 7, made up of Rachel Stevens, Hannah Spearritt, Tina Barrett, Jo O'Meara, Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh and the late Paul Cattermole, ruled the charts. The band defined late '90s to early '00 pop music but sadly announced that they were splitting in 2003 (live on stage). The group reunited for a brief tour in 2015, during which they released the previously unheard song 'Rain' but we've had no new music since. Then, in 2020, Tina hinted that the band are "up for" getting back together after she thought that Giovanna Fletcher's choice to play the band's hit song 'Reach' as her luxury item on this years I'm A Celebrity was a "sign". In February 2023, the news that fans have been waiting for was confirmed, with the original line-up would be reuniting for a reunion tour set to take place in October 2023. Sadly in April it was announced that Paul had died, at present the band have not released a statement about their tour.

Atomic Kitten

Girl band Atomic Kitten were a regular feature in the charts in the 90s and 00s, with hits like 'Whole Again' and 'The Tide Is High'. The line-up changed over the years, but has included Liz McClarnon, Natasha Hamilton, Jenny Frost, Kerry Katona and Heidi Range. Kerry made headlines in 2002 when she announced that she would be leaving the band to focus on marriage and family. They officially split in 2004, but came back on stage for a reunion in 2014. In 2020, band members Natasha and Liz delighted England football fans during the World Cup with their rendition of 'Whole Again', changing the lyrics in praise of manager Gareth Southgate. The lyrics were changed to: "Looking back on when we first met / I cannot escape and I cannot forget / Southgate, you're the one / You still turn me on / Football's coming home again". They released the song as a single and even performed it at Boxpark in London to fans.

Original Sugababes members Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Buena and Siobhan Doherty formed in the 90s and the group continued releasing hits throughout the 00s, until each of the original woman had left the band and was replaced by someone else. Keisha, Mutya and Siobhan reunited to form a band called MKS but sadly it never took off, and they have focused on their solo careers since. But all these years later they took to Instagram to announce they were getting back together! The group announced that they are reuniting for the first time in 21 years to play at Glastonbury festival 2022.

Cheeky Girls

The Cheeky Girls were big in the early 00s with songs like 'The Cheeky Song (Touch My Bum)', 'Hooray! Hooray! It's a Cheeky Holiday' and 'Take Your Shoes Off', but it all went quiet after 2007 and they stopped making music together. To everyone's surprise the twins announced in April 2022 that they were back with a brand new single called 'Let's Have Fun'!

Blue became household names back in the early 00s with hits like 'All Rise', 'One Love' and 'Fly By' - however the band, consisting of Antony Costa, Duncan James, Lee Ryan and Simon Webbe, left fans gutted when they announced a hiatus in late 2004. However, in May 2022, fans were buzzing when they boys announced they were getting back together. With comeback track 'Haven't Found You Yet', featuring on their new album 'Heart & Soul', Blue also went on tour in 2022!

NSYNC were best-known for their huge hits, 'I Want You Back', 'Bye Bye Bye' and 'Girlfriend' with Nelly, the group officially split in 2007, however they have reformed occasionally for special events. In September 2023 they released their first new music in more than 20 years. The song was called 'Better Place' and features on the new Trolls movie, Trolls Band Together.

What are the band's favourite S Club songs?

During their reunion press conference, S Club revealed some of their favourite songs. Hannah revealed she loved 'Don't Stop Moving', but to perform her favourite would be 'Reach'.

'Reach' was also Tina's favourite, whereas Jo chose 'Bring It all Back' and Rachel said 'Never Had Dream Come True' was her favourite.

What songs have S Club released?

'Bring It All Back' was just the start of many very popular songs from the group, including 'S Club Party', 'Two in a Million', 'You're My Number One', 'Reach', and four Number 1s including their debut 'Bring It All Back', 'Never Had a Dream Come True', 'Don't Stop Movin'' and 'Have You Ever'.

When were S Club created?

Featuring the original line-up of Bradley McIntosh, Hannah Spearritt, Jo O'Meara, Jon Lee, Rachel Stevens, Tina Barrett and the late Paul Cattermole, S Club 7 was formed by the Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller back in 1998.

The band first appeared on the BBC TV Show Miami 7, where they performed music which was featured on their first album 'S Club', released in 1999.

S Club will be bringing it all back with their 2023 reunion tour

S Club will kick off their Good Times comeback tour in Manchester

There ain’t no party like an S Club party - and the party is kicking off here in Manchester this week.

Jo, Rachel, Bradley, Tina and Jon will be heading to Manchester’s AO Arena this Thursday (October 12) before returning for a second show on October 21 as part of the Good Times tour and it’s set to feature the likes of super hits Don’t Stop Movin, Bring It All Back and Reach.

Initially announced as a comeback tour featuring all seven members, Paul Cattermole, who was a part of the band from 1998 to 2002, sadly passed away from underlying heart conditions just months after the band unveiled details on the tour - which has been renamed in honour of one of the songs he was set to perform.

Fellow bandmate Hannah Spearritt, who was recently announced as a contestant on Dancing On Ice, later announced she would no longer be taking part in the 14-date tour following Paul’s passing. The original five members have promised the tour will be ‘emotional’ as it pays tribute to Paul.

“We’re going to be honouring Paul throughout the entire tour,” Jo told the M.E.N earlier this year . “Renaming it the Good Times tour was just a no-brainer for us and It just seemed like the right thing for us to do.”

The tour will mark the first time the band have performed together in eight years. They last performed in Manchester as part of their Bring It All Back tour in May 2015. Following the first show at the AO Arena, S Club will head to the likes of Liverpool, Sheffield, Dublin, Glasgow and London's O2 Arena.

To mark the return of S Club, we’ve rounded up all the information you’ll need if you’re heading to one of the band's two shows at the AO Arena this month.

Seating plan

Seating plan for S Club's shows at the AO Arena

Is there parking at the AO Arena?

Yes, there is a large multi-storey car park based next to the AO Arena, with access through the car park to the main entrance of the venue.

Be aware though that after the shows, Trinity Way will be closed southbound between Great Ducie Street and Cheetham Hill Road for up to one hour, to allow concert-goers to safely exit the venue.

If you’re parking at the arena car park, you will still be allowed to exit during this closure but you will have to turn right and follow local diversions.

What are the public transport options?

The AO Arena is within the Manchester Victoria Train Station complex, which serves both mainline trains and a tram stop. The next closest tram stops are at either Exchange Square (next to the Arndale Centre) or Shudehill (behind The Printworks and close to the Northern Quarter ).

Both stops are a short five minute walk to the arena.

What can you take in with you?

The advice is to keep personal belongings to a minimum. Backpacks, holdalls, luggage, oversized bags and cushions, are not permitted into the AO Arena.

One small bag per person is permitted (no bigger than 30cm wide x 40cm long x 20cm deep), and shopping bags, backpacks, travel cases, laptop bags and large tote bags are not permitted inside the arena. There are no storage facilities at the venue and the venue is not responsible for late admission or non-admission due to failure to comply with the above rules.

There are also restrictions on bringing professional cameras, umbrellas, signs, selfie sticks and food and drink in with you. Here are all the items banned at the arena.

Food and drink

There will be bars inside the arena serving alcoholic beverages and soft drinks. There will also be some stalls offering food options such as hot dogs and nachos.

If you’re looking for somewhere to eat before or after the show, the AO Arena is just on the doorstep of The Printworks, and only a stone's throw from casual dining haven Corn Exchange.

Wrexham and its Hollywood owners are halfway to the promised land.

Playing in the Premier League — the world’s richest and most popular soccer league — might not be such a fanciful notion, after all, for a club that not so long ago was success-starved, financially stricken and languishing in the fifth tier of the English game.

Under the ownership of celebrities Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney since 2021, Wrexham has achieved two successive promotions — the latest being clinched on Saturday when the team was assured of going up to third-tier League One.

Two more promotions and Wrexham will be mixing it with the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United in the Premier League.

That, though, may take some time.

Before that, Wrexham’s players have a league title to go for, some post-season celebrations to enjoy — Las Vegas, anyone? — and another U.S. preseason tour to make before starting their bid for a third straight promotion.

Here’s what lies ahead for the Welsh team whose extraordinary journey is being chronicled in the popular show “Welcome to Wrexham”:

TITLE CHANCE?

Claiming one of the three automatic promotion spots in League Two was the first aim and that has been achieved with two games to spare. Now, Wrexham has a chance to win some hardware by finishing in first place and capturing the title. It won’t be easy. Wrexham is in second place, four points behind Stockport, which has three games left. If Stockport isn’t able to clinch first place by winning either of its next two matches, the title could be up for grabs when Wrexham hosts Stockport at the Racecourse Ground on the final day of the season. It’s expected that Reynolds and McElhenney will be there for an occasion which will be a day of celebrations whatever happens.

POST-SEASON PARTY

The season hasn’t finished yet but the promotion party has already begun . Wrexham’s players were pictured — and filmed — enjoying themselves in a town-center pub on Sunday, a day after beating Forest Green 6-0 to spark a pitch invasion at the Racecourse Ground. Paul Mullin , the star striker and top scorer, was seen in the pub standing on a chair with his arms out and his eyes closed in front of his smiling teammates, who mixed with members of the public. After winning the fifth-tier National League last year, the squad was treated to a trip to Las Vegas by the owners — and the players might be headed to Sin City again. Asked what message was sent to Reynolds and McElhenney after sealing promotion, midfielder Elliot Lee said: “We’ve just told them to fire up the jet for Vegas!”

Wrexham has already booked in another preseason tour of the United States, just like last year. Only one match has been confirmed so far, and that’s against Chelsea in Santa Clara, California, on July 24. Wrexham played Chelsea and Manchester United as part of a four-match preseason trip to the U.S. in July 2023 that contained fixtures in North Carolina, Los Angeles, San Diego and Philadelphia in a 10-day span. It might have helped Wrexham grow its fanbase but might not been ideal in terms of travel and season preparation. Wrexham may choose to stay in and around the west coast this time and ensure the squad is back home in plenty of time to prepare for the start of the League One season on Aug. 10.

LIFE IN LEAGUE ONE

So what awaits Wrexham’s players in League One? For starters, they’re likely to have home and away matches against Shrewsbury, one of their big local rivals. They haven’t been in the same league since 2008, though Wrexham did beat Shrewsbury in the FA Cup this season. Wigan, a Premier League team and FA Cup winner barely a decade ago, is in the third tier, as might be Bolton and Blackpool — other teams who have been in the top flight this century. Wrexham is set to receive a cash boost of around $2 million from being in League One — more than half of which comes in the form of a “solidarity payment” handed down by Premier League clubs — that will help pay for some new signings. Deloitte has reported that the average League One team generates around $11 million in revenue but Wrexham is on course to top that, helped by its wider appeal likely making the team a popular watch on iFollow — the streaming service used by the English Football League. Indeed, Wrexham’s latest accounts showed that its turnover in the financial year of 2022-23 was $13.3 million, even if its losses increased to $6.4 million. Meanwhile, Wrexham will look to push on with the renovation of its Kop stand at one end of the Racecourse to boost its capacity, and therefore its gate receipts. There is a temporary stand in place at the moment, helping to lift attendances for home matches to more than 15,000. If Wrexham wanted any inspiration on its journey through the leagues, it just needs to look at Luton, which went from the fifth tier to the Premier League in nine years (2014-2023).

Manchester United collapses, but Coventry's stunning FA Cup comeback spoiled by inch-tight call, penalties

Manchester United advanced to the FA Cup final in just about the most embarrassing way possible Sunday.

United beat Coventry City in a penalty shootout, but its players hardly celebrated. In a rollicking second half, they had thrown away a three-goal lead, and crumbled under second-division pressure.

In extra time, they nearly capitulated. In the 121st minute, Coventry's Victor Torp scored, and the sky-blue half of Wembley Stadium exploded, rejoicing in a four-goal barrage and a fairytale for the ages.

But after an agonizing wait, video assistant referees ruled that Coventry's Haji Wright had been offside in the buildup — by the length of a toe.

United then won on penalties, and booked a date in next month's final with cross-town rival Manchester City.

But only after collapsing in a way that no Manchester United team had collapsed in over a decade.

United led 2-0 at halftime, and 3-0 by the hour mark. Then Coventry scored in the 71st minute, and United quivered. Muscles tightened. Nerves jangled.

The winningest club in England, one of soccer's mightiest institutions, was still leading a middling club from England's second-tier Championship 3-1 — but looked scared.

And then, for 25 minutes, the Red Devils played scared. In the 79th minute, a wicked deflection handed Coventry a second goal. In the 85th minute, United goalkeeper Andre Onana palmed away a stinging drive from Torp — but everybody watching United's hapless players wobble about knew that more chances were coming.

For the final five minutes of the 90, and then through stoppage time, the underdogs kept ascending. United looked lost, frozen, stupefied.

In the 93rd minute, Aaron Wan-Bissaka conceded a foolish penalty. In the 95th, Wright, a 26-year-old American forward, converted.

When the full-time whistle shrilled to spare United more embarrassment, and red-clad fans booed, players looked shellshocked. For about a minute, as they huddled toward the side of the field, preparing for extra time, manager Erik Ten Hag just stood there, his eyes angled down toward blank turf, as if stuck in a trance.

Ten Hag had botched the second half. His only two subs had been the last two players anybody would want to help kill off a game, aging playmaker Christian Eriksen and useless winger Antony. He had overseen the first blown three-goal lead at United since a meaningless game in 2013. He apparently has the backing of United's new owners, but he had just witnessed 20 staggering minutes that felt like a tipping point, 20 minutes that epitomized what United has become .

The Red Devils, short-handed and spent, recovered reasonably well in extra time. But the game was even. Balanced. Both teams hit the crossbar. Both sent signals that they were capable of scoring.

Coventry did score, and completed a remarkable encore. In the quarterfinals, Wright had engineered a just-as-stunning comeback, with a 97th-minute assist and 100th-minute goal to beat Wolves.

This was another one. This was a true giant-killing. This was the FA Cup's best story in years.

Until it wasn't. VAR ruined the fun. Coventry took a lead in the shootout, then lost it. Tears flowed. Fans didn't know what to feel.

And the United players? When Rasmus Højlund sealed the shootout, none streamed toward him. Most turned around and shook hands. This, as much as a victory, was a humiliation averted.
