The tent was spacious and clean with individual hygiene facilities. Maybe a little more attention to the food but everything was so great that at the end we didn't mind.

We booked our night in Merzouga with Mouhou Tours and we chose the luxury desert camp. The Tents were very luxurious, not what we expected. This obviously made us super pleased and we had a great time. Beautiful camel ride during sunset and the sunrise from the dunes was wonderful. Amazing location. The dunes are endless, you are right in the middle of the desert. Dinner and breakfast were plentiful and all very good. Kind and courteous staff. We paid £60 each including camel ride and meals.

I just have to say thank you to the Mouhou Tours. This was one of the most wonderful, beautiful experiences that I have done. We spend the night in the luxury camp. The personnel were amazing and played for us Berber music after the excellent dinner. We all dance around a fire 🔥 and it was magical. The tent was so comfy and clean. The day after we enjoyed the sunrise in the Sahara desert and then we did a trip around and inside of the desert. I recommend!!!!! 100% you won’t be disappointed

2-night desert camp experience!

We booked a 2-night desert camping experience with Mouhou Tours and had a great time! We were able to ride camels several times, stay in a luxury camp, try sandboarding, and learn about Berber culture. Our guide, Said, was really fun and we felt totally comfortable with him. He answered all our questions and was genuinely fun to hang out with. He speaks very good English. In fact, the whole staff spoke the best English we encountered while traveling in Morocco. Also, the camp has its own chef and the food was consistently amazing. I would definitely recommend booking with this tour agency.

The hotel that we stayed at the first night was not great, also the dinner wasn’t good. It took me asking them three times before I received my vegetarian entree. The food on the way to the hotel was ok, but the lunch on the way to Fez was horrible! The food on the way to the desert and at the camp was great. The trip includes such amazing sights, and the sights are truly breathtaking! Luxury camping in the Sahara under the stars was an amazing experience. Great value for money considering it covers very long trips, half board and accommodation. Our driver Mohammed was cool, calm and collected and really personable. The lunches were not of amazing quality for the prices, and some parts of the tour focus on promoting products, e.g. handmade carpets. However, the guides were very knowledgeable and very funny. Make sure you have enough cash for lunch and snacks as no cards are accepted anywhere. Can not recommend this trip enough

These few days traveling with Moustafa into the desert from Marrakech was out of this world. He prepared an adventure that was simply unforgettable. The whole travel experience from Marrakech was part of the excitement: he stopped at points of interest that were "off the beaten path". We saw a salt mine, had tea with the Nomads, dined with the Berber family at their home, saw magnificent views of the mountains and valleys and rivers, we walked around abandoned Berber villages under the careful guide of uncomparable, listened to an authentic Gnawa music performed by the local villagers, and were provided with a brief history of places we visited. He knew all the nooks of the entire trail leading to the abandoned Berber villages under the careful guide of Moustapha. We had experienced authentic live Gnawa music performed by the local villagers, and we were were provided with a brief history of places we visited. The trip was out of this world. The entire desert camping experience was unbelievable. We rode camels at sunset, climbed the highest dunes, did dune bashing, had an awesome and festive night at the desert camp with music and drums, had delicious dinner each night and gazed at the endless skies full of stars at night. Our accommodations were superior, very comfortable and unique! I can't even describe how memorable this experience has been for my friends and I. Highly recommend Moustafa and his crew! We loved it and will come back. If you book with Moustapha you will never be disappointed. We love love love Moustapha. Thank you !!!

The five-day desert buggy journey was an incredible enjoyable! The exhilaration was never-ending as we drove across sand dunes and rocky terrain. Each day provided fresh scenery and activities, and the nights spent beneath the starry desert sky were magnificent. Expert guidance ensured that everything went well, making for a wonderful experience. If you're seeking for an exhilarating desert trip, this tour is a must!

The driver and main tour guide were great. Some of the stops, especially the morning of the second day, were less than stimulating. My main gripe is that I paid nearly twice as much as everyone else on my trip. Book the same trip through Viator and not Tour Radar.

We arrive in Marrakech on Sept 1 and have booked a hotel (Radisson Blu in Gueliz ) instead of a Riad (Thanks for your recommendation comicman). Again, based on recommendation from comicman, we will forego the private driver and rent a car to take us to Fez. We will leave Marrakech on Sept 4, stay at a hotel in Dades Gorge area that evening. We are planning on staying at a luxury camp by Merzouga the evening of Sept 5 and 6, and head to Fez on September 7. This is where we've got lots of questions.....

Despite looking a hundreds of camps, all claiming "luxury", the prices range from $250 to $1200 for 2 nights accommodation (some offering breakfast, other breakfast and dinner). They look the same, so I'm not clear on the huge difference in price. Furthermore, I'm convinced that many of the places on booking.com are third party companies advertising "luxury" camps and they will toss us wherever they are paid the highest commission! The posted pictures all look the same so in reality, we have no idea whether we are getting what we booked or paid for. Some people suggest to stay in a hotel or riad and take excursion out to the desert for activities but I'm conflicted.... HELP! Your experience in invaluable to us. If we stay in a hotel, is 2 nights too long? I really wanted to experience the desert but can it be done in the comfort of a hotel instead of a tent knowing that we may or may not get what we paid for?

When the camp says breakfast only, where do we eat lunch and/or dinner? Since we park our car in Merzouga and take a 4x4 to the camp, how do we get around?

What does one do in the desert if we don't have transportation?

We plan on leaving Merzouga on Sept 7, and drive to Fez where we will stay in a riad in the Medina before flying out to Malaga on Sept 10th to continue our holiday in the Costa del Sol area.

Comicman, I value your input. Why Yasmina should vet the other? Same location (only minutes apart), Syntise looks nicer inside (maybe not?), Syntise is definately more expensive (so Yasmina wins that one)….. am I missing something??

One is right on the dunes, the other is not. Easy choice for me. How fancy the hotel looks, is always second to me , over it's location.

Yasmina is infinitely nicer on the inside. Look at the rooms, are you kidding? Those sunrise rooms look like a college dorm. And a single queen bed.

Maybe I’m looking at the wrong hotel as I didn’t see college dorm vibes and am VERY particular on selecting nicer accommodations! So something isn’t right! Same definitely goes for restaurants. Some of my best meals in Morocco 🇲🇦 were at cheap locals places.

You’re free to book where you want of course, I’m not selling the place. (Not like La Maison Arabe which I adored… and I also liked Radisson Blu too).

Yes I think most rooms have a private terrace. We never used it. On the “terrace” there were large solar panels attached to cylinders of water for your hot showers. Worked like a charm.

Séjour merveilleux ! Décor somptueux, personnel adorable. Tout était parfait. On est dans une autre dimension le temps d'une nuit. L'arrivée en dromadaire (2h) qui permet d'assister au coucher de soleil, puis le repas copieux et très bon dans une ambiance tamisée suivi d'un spectacle de musique à la lueur d'un feu de camp dans les dunes, est une expérience exceptionnelle.

Le transfert vers le campement (2 fois moins cher que la première réservation que j'avais fait ailleurs et que j'ai annulé) en dromadaire arrêt pour le couché de soleil et retour en 4x4, 60€ pour 2 personnes. Le campement est tres sympa, tente incroyable, repas et petit déj sympa avec feu de camp sous les étoiles et concert de percussion. Le personnel est au petit soins. C'est une super expérience.

Bivouac intimiste, belle animation autour du feu. Ce que j'ai préféré c'est le diner, menu original et assiettes très bien présentées. Personnel sympathique Pour les transferts nous avons opté pour l'aller en dromadaire et le retour en 4X4

Tout simplement parfait. Nous avons sélectionné cet endroit un peu au hasard parce que plusieurs endroits offrent le même genre d’hébergement et de forfaits, mais nous sommes vraiment bien tombés. Le personnel était très gentil et que dire des tentes qui étaient impeccables et luxueuses. Disons que pour une nuit en supposé camping dans le désert, c’était loin d’être la misère! Après une balade en dromadaire et un arrêt dans les dunes pour voir le coucher du soleil, vous arrivez au campement où Mohamed vous reçoit avec le thé traditionnel. Les chambres sont bien équipées, confortables et jolies. Après un bon dîner typique, vous assisterez à un spectacle autour d un feu de camp qui vous enchantera. Et si vous êtes courageux, réveillé de bon heure, vous assisterez au lever du soleil dans le désert.je recommande.

Tout etait parfait, très bien reçu avec le thé et les gateaux marocain après une excursion en dromadaire pendant le couché de soleil

Le personnel était très gentil ! Le tour en chameau était magnifique , nous nous sommes arrêtés pour regarder le coucher de soleil dans le désert. Nous étions seulement deux mon compagnon et moi et tout était fait pour nous faire sentir comme des rois : le thé à l’arrivée , le dîner parfait, le feu de camp et le concert privé de musique berbère la nuit… les tentes étaient incroyables aussi , le campement magnifique ! On recommande les yeux fermés 🥳
