At the time of your choice, we'll meet at Piazzetta Matilde Serao 2, to start touring the historic centre of Naples. Are you ready? Let's go!
Our first stop will be via Toledo, one of the most famous streets in Naples for its many stores. Then, we'll walk through the streets of the Spanish Quarter , admiring the many examples of urban art that have brought colour to the chaotic and at the same time exciting capital of Campania . We'll see large murals that combine religion, protest and social struggle, and we'll tell you about the hidden messages contained in these works of art.
Next, we'll arrive at the highest part of this neighborhood , where we'll see about thirty works of Neapolitan street art, including the mural of Maradona .
As we go into the alleys of Naples we'll come across many of these works. Jorit Agoch, Diego Miedo, Roxy in the Box, Cyop & Kaf are some of the artists that we'll see on the tour. There are more than 200 murals!
Also, we'll visit handicraft stores located in old buildings, where we'll see religious images and paintings and learn about some local legends and traditions.
After two hours, we'll finish the activity arriving back at the starting point.

La nostra prima tappa sarà via Toledo , una delle strade più famose della città. Da qui, ci addentreremo nei Quartieri Spagnoli , osservando le colorate opere d'arte urbana che decorano Napoli. In particolare, ci imbatteremo in grandi murales di rivendicazione sociale o con tematica religiosa e la guida ci parlerà dei messaggi occulti di alcune delle opere del percorso.
Raggiungeremo dunque la parte più alta del quartiere, dove avremo modo di osservare da vicino ben trenta capolavori di street art napoletana , fra cui il murales di Maradona .
A spasso per i vicoli della città partenopea, potremo apprezzare in prima persona i lavori di Jorit Agoch, Diego Miedo, Roxy in the Box e Cyop & Kaf. Pensate un po': A Napoli ci sono più di 200 opere di street art !

Altra peculiarità è il fatto di essere l’unica opera dell’artista documentata in Italia e di essere stata rivestita da una lastra in vetro per proteggerla dai danni. Il tutto, grazie a una petizione per salvarla dal destino subito dall’opera già realizzata da Banksy a Napoli , originariamente situata in via Benedetto Croce e successivamente ‘oscurata’ da un altro writer.

San Gennaro Operaio di Jorit
Sempre in tema di icone, porta la firma di Jorit anche il murales “San Gennaro Operaio” nel quartiere Forcella : una visione imponente e di grande impatto per chi proviene da Spaccanapoli .
Ispirato a Caravaggio, il ritratto del santo riprende i tratti di un giovane operaio napoletano e sorge a pochi passi dal Duomo di Napoli , sfondo del rito dello scioglimento del sangue di San Gennaro, tra le curiosità su Napoli più celebri in assoluto.

Maradona ai Quartieri Spagnoli
Il murale di Maradona ai Quartieri Spagnoli è stato realizzato da Mario Filardi nel 1990, per poi essere restaurato nel 2016 dall’artista Salvatore Iodice.
Il murale di Maradona, oggetti di visita di migliaia di persone al giorno, si trova in via Emanuele de Deo n. 46 nei Quartieri Spagnoli a Napoli.

Sabato 27 Febbraio 2021 will take place starting at hours 15:00 a special event entitled Street Art Tour in Naples . It will be a special walk through the streets of the historic city center discovering street art. The special guide will accompany guests on this incredible journey Erika Chiappinelli.
Street Art Tour in Naples
The appointment is for Saturday 27 February in Piazza Bellini , near the statue of the musician Vincenzo Bellini. Initially the tour will take you to discover the street art and street artists of the historic center of Naples, such as Exit Enter, Blub, Trallallà.
Then we will move on to University area where you can admire the works of artists such as Alice, Whatifier, Flase and many others. The tour will end near the church of Santa Maria La Nova in Naples.
How to participate
To participate in the Street Art Tour in Naples is booking required no later than Thursday February 25, 2021 at 23 pm.
Reservation can be made by sending a message or whatsapp at the number indicated in the information mirror or by sending an email to the specified address , taking care to indicate the number of participants and a telephone number.
During the visit all the anti-Covid standards 19 , including social distancing, with a reduced number of participants and mask obligation.

7 great pieces of Street Art in Naples
Wherever you look in Naples you will see artworks, even in the streets. It’s not a joke: street artists always loved this city and often leaved a sign of their passage. Maybe, some of the best artworks are just the ones in the streets.
So let’s see some works.
Banksy in Naples: Madonna with a Pistol
Madonna with a Pistol is an artwork by one of the most famous street artist in the world, Banksy. Just like other works by Banksy, this one is full of irony: it represents a Madonna in ecstasy with a gun over her, like an apparition. This piece of art maybe wants to represent the connection between religion and organized crime.
Murales Park in east Naples
This is not a work, but a project of two an associations: “INWARD” (Observatory on urban creativity) and Arteteca cultural association. This project, in addiction to do some artworks on the walls in the Parco Merola in Ponticelli district, has started activities and workshops for disadvantaged children.
Ael. Tutt’egual song’ e criature (All children are equal) is an artwork by Jorit Agoch that represent a rom child who is starting school: a message of integration. The title is a quote from a song by Enzo Avitabile.
Gennaro: Hyper-realistic graffiti in the middle of Naples
Another work by Jorit Agoch, another face. Face is the favorite topic of the artist, he believe that looks can be very emotional. This one in particular, is a portrait of his friend called Gennaro. He gave the face of his friend to the patron saint of the city, San Gennaro. This murales is painted on a wall at the start of Forcella. Also this work was made with the help of INWARD. This artwork is quite similar to Ael. Tutt’egual song’ e criature for the realism, the shadow, the scar on the face and some symbols (the ampouls with the blood of the saint, the backpack of the rom child).
This artist has disseminated the walls of Old Town of Naples whith his little works: when you find one, then you’ll find others, in a sort of treasure hunt. In his artworks there are little stickman who fights big dragons, who fell in love, who ask questions. Hearts, symbols and some words like “Exit” or “Enter” are near to the stickmen, to complete the meanings.
The mysteriuous women portraits by Alice Pasquini
She is one of the few street artists who doesn’t use a nickname. Her work can be seen with a little bit of attention near to the Ciclofficina Massimo Troisi (most famous by the name “Ska”) and on the portal that brings to the Mensa Occupata in via Mezzocannone. Her works represent female, strong and mysterious characters.
A graffiti as large as a building by Blu
Blu is one of the ten best street artists in circulation according to The Guardian. On the wall of the Ex-OPG Je so’ Pazzo (An ex-Psychiatric Hospital, now Social Centre) the artist wants to show the horror of the imprisonment, painting a sort of anthropomorphous monster. He also used a window for the open mouth of the screaming monster, to express fully his message.
ResisTiamo by Francisco Bosoletti
Painted on a lateral wall of the Basilica of Santa Maria della Sanità. This artwork by Francisco Bosoletti wants to give a message of fraternity and mutual help. The artist wants to tell a true story of a boy saved from illness by his friend.

Street Art a Napoli: i murales da non perdere
Scrivere un articolo che racconti la street art di Napoli è una missione quasi impossibile, ma ci sentiamo temerarie e ci proveremo. Più che una guida esaustiva all’arte urbana di questa splendida città, quella che leggerai è una nostra selezione di progetti e opere che proprio non puoi perdere durante il tuo viaggio a Napoli.
Napoli è una città d’istinto e di cuore e questo si riflette nelle sue strade e nei quartieri così diversi tra loro e così pieni di sostanza. Se c’è una parola che ci aiuta a identificare lo stato d’animo di questa città è “esplosione”. Napoli è un’esplosione di umanità , creatività, arte, gentilezza, caos e disordine.
Se vuoi scoprire quindi una Napoli street e alcune delle più belle opere di arte urbana della città, ecco i luoghi da segnare sulla mappa per il tuo prossimo viaggio!
La street art a Napoli nei Quartieri Spagnoli
Partiamo dai Quartieri Spagnoli , una delle prime zone di approdo per i turisti che visitano la città, ma anche una delle zone più caratteristiche di Napoli. I Quartieri Spagnoli sono un groviglio di strade in salita che partono da via Toledo e si diramano come un vero labirinto: questo è il luogo perfetto per la street photography.
Proprio qui trovi alcune delle opere più iconiche e rappresentative della produzione di arte urbana napoletana : il progetto Quore Spinato di Cyop e Ka f, un’opera di Francisco Bosoletti , un’opera dedicata a Maradona e diverse opere sparse dedicate a personaggi famosi come Totò e Luciano De Crescenzo.
Primo consiglio: lascia che siano le vie dei Quartieri Spagnoli a guidarti, perché solo così troverai delle autentiche meraviglie. Puoi partire dal quadrante tra Vico della Tofa e via Lungo Trinità degli Spagnoli, prosegui poi salendo e addentrati in alcune vie laterali.
Le opere del progetto Quore Spinato sono tutte da cercare: si tratta di interventi di piccole e medie dimensioni su porte, garage, muri e finestre. Per 3 anni consecutivi gli artisti hanno dipinto più di 200 opere , partendo in modo autonomo e stringendo via via relazioni con le persone che ogni giorno vivono i Quartieri Spagnoli. Un progetto ad alto tasso di umanità che ha portato alla creazione di un piccolo atlante illustrato, a volte co-creato insieme alle stesse persone del quartiere. Se vuoi localizzare tutti gli interventi, Cyop & Kaf hanno realizzato una mappa del progetto .
A Napoli la street art ti compare davanti anche quando meno te lo aspetti: così passeggiando per le vie dei Quartieri Spagnoli ci siamo imbattute in via Emanuele De Deo dove si trova un’opera monumentale di Bosoletti realizzata nell’ambito del progetto Ultravioletto . Con questo progetto l’artista ha creato opere visibili attraverso due prospettive: quella dell’occhio nudo e quella in negativo. Attraverso un filtro ultravioletto infatti, le sue opere si arricchiscono di numerosi dettagli. Puoi vedere un’altra opera del progetto Ultravioletto nel Rione Sanità, te ne parliamo poco più avanti.
Qui, nei Quartieri Spagnoli, Bosoletti ha rappresentato la dea Iside, mentre speculare si trova l’opera dedicata a Diego Armando Maradona di Mario Filardi, realizzata nel 1990 e ritoccata nel 2017 grazie ad una colletta popolare.
Street art nel Rione Sanità
Rione Sanità è il quartiere in cui è nato Totò, ma è anche uno dei quartieri più rappresentativi di Napoli che evita le orde di turisti. Qui puoi mangiare una delle pizze più buone della città da Concettina ai Tre Santi (sia nel ristorante, sia take away), ma puoi anche assaggiare il Fiocco di Neve dalla pasticceria Poppella , una specialità che ti farà perdere la testa.
Al di là di questa pausa gourmet, a Rione Sanità puoi trovare alcuni grandi interventi, così come interventi minori, molti dedicati proprio alla figura di Totò.
Da non perdere a nostro avviso ci sono:
- l’ opera RESIS-TI-AMO di Bosoletti sulla facciata della Basilica di Santa Maria della Sanità. Si tratta di un omaggio alla storia d’amore di una ragazza e un ragazzo del quartiere;
- l’ opera “Speranza Nascosta” di Bosoletti , che fa parte del progetto Ultravioletto e si trova sulla porta d’ingresso del centro di accoglienza La Tenda. Oggi l’opera è piuttosto rovinata, ma ancora visibile;
- l’ opera “Tienime, ca te tengo” di Jerico Cabrera Carandang che si trova sul pilone del ponte Maddalena Cerasuolo. Si tratta di un omaggio al popolo napoletano, alla sua capacità di condivisione e di resilienza;
- l’ opera “Luce” di Tono Cruz che rappresenta un omaggio alle ragazze e ai ragazzi che vivono in questi vicoli in segno di speranza per il futuro. L’opera si trova di fronte alla Basilica di Santa Maria della Sanità;
- l’ opera “Nu ‘mmescà ‘e fantasme cu ll’angiule” in vico Misericordiella a cura del Collettivo FX.
Banksy a Napoli
Napoli non smette mai di stupire e in piazza Gerolomini, in pieno centro storico, esiste un’opera unica: la “Madonna con la pistola” di Banksy. Passandoci accanto, potrebbe sembrare un’immagine votiva , ma non è così perché rappresenta il contraddittorio legame tra la criminalità organizzata e la religione. L’opera è ancora visibile perché sopra è stata posizionata una teca protettiva contro agenti atmosferici e altri interventi.

Parco dei Murales di Ponticelli
Il Parco dei Murales di Ponticelli è stata la prima tappa del nostro viaggio a Napoli. Si trova in una zona periferica della città, presso il Parco Merola, una zona residenziale con un alto tasso di dispersione scolastica e disoccupazione. Il complesso di edifici è nato per rispondere all’esigenza abitativa in seguito al terremoto del 1980, ma come spesso accade in queste situazioni, si costruisce senza mettere al centro le persone e la loro qualità di vita.
Così nel 2015 è nato il progetto che ha portato alla creazione del Parco dei Murales, coinvolgendo una rete di associazioni locali, volontari e la comunità residente. Il progetto è stato curato da INWARD Osservatorio sulla Creatività Urbana e ha previsto la creazione di murales di grandi dimensioni sulle facciate delle case , ma anche di laboratori per il coinvolgimento dei più giovani.
Fabio Petani, La Fille Bertha, Rosk&Loste, Hope, Zeus40, Jorit, Mattia Campo dall’Orto e Zed1 hanno affrontato diversi temi: dall’importanza del gioco alla solidarietà, passando per il valore della maternità e tanto altro.
Ne sono nati anche degli street art tour a cura dei volontari del quartiere.
Se desideri vedere un lato di Napoli che vada al di fuori degli spot turistici e parli di storie di vita e desiderio di riscatto, noi ti consigliamo assolutamente di fare tappa al Parco dei Murales (Viale Aldo Merola).
EX OPG Je so’ pazzo
Ci troviamo a Materdei , uno dei quartieri più antichi di Napoli (noi lo abbiamo trovato molto bello e autentico) e qui sorge l’ex monastero ed ex Ospedale Psichiatrico Giudiziario che oggi è diventato la Casa del Popolo – Je so’ Pazzo.
Un tempo qui venivano detenute persone con problemi psichiatrici, oggi invece è diventato uno spazio condiviso aperto all’accoglienza e che organizza tantissime attività sportive e culturali per tutta la popolazione. Ma perché siete capitate in questo posto, ti chiederai?
Non ci siamo capitate, ma avevamo letto la sua storia prima di partire per Napoli e abbiamo scelto di inserirlo come tappa imperdibile grazie anche alla presenza di diverse opere di arte urbana sulle sue pareti esterne, tra cui un’opera iconica di BLU che rappresenta uno dei detenuti dell’ex OPG mentre urla (la sua bocca è rappresentata dalla finestra). Si tratta di un murales molto intenso, oggi purtroppo è molto rovinato, ma è ancora visibile.

La Circumvesuviana come New York
Farsi un giro tra le varie fermate della Circumvesuviana è un po’ come sentirsi in una New York degli anni ’80-’90: i treni e le fermate sono colmi di pittate e graffiti . Noi ci siamo letteralmente innamorate e siamo partite dalla fermata della Circumvesuviana che parte dalla stazione centrale FS di Napoli, per raggiungere il Parco dei Murales (dalla fermata Garibaldi a Villa Visconti). Il viaggio è stato come assistere ad un film. Stra consigliato se cerchi un ambiente urban!
Il San Gennaro e le altre opere di Jorit
La street art di Napoli vive anche di icone e una di queste è sicuramente il San Gennaro di Jorit , che si trova nel quartiere Forcella, di fianco alla chiesa di San Giorgio Maggiore. San Gennaro, neanche a dirlo, è il santo patrono di Napoli e quest’opera anche se all’inizio ha scatenato qualche polemica, ora è diventata un punto di riferimento per la città.
Jorit ha dichiarato di essersi ispirato per la realizzazione del volto ad un suo amico carrozziere, sottolineando come la sua ispirazione venga dalla gente comune.
Altre opere di Jorit da vedere in città sono:
- il murales che pare essere il più alto del mondo, tra i grattacieli di Napoli Centro Direzionale, realizzato nel 2019 in occasione delle Universiadi e rappresenta le icone dello sport;
- l’opera che rappresenta Maradona nel quartiere che viene chiamato “Bronx”, San Giovanni a Teduccio, in Strada Comunale Taverna del Ferro, 42.
- l’opera che rappresenta Che Guevara sempre a San Giovanni a Teduccio;
- il ritratto di Ilaria Cucchi al Vomero in via Guido Mensinger;
- il ritratto di Kobe Bryant sempre al Vomero in via Pietro Castellino;
- il ritratto di Aer nel Parco dei Murales di Ponticelli;
- a Scampia all’uscita della fermata della metro 1 invece si trovano i murales di Pasolini e di Angela Davis;
- una delle ultime opere realizzate è il ritratto di Dostoevskij sulla facciata dell’istituto tecnico Augusto Righi che vede la collaborazione anche del writer DOES.
Street art a Napoli: opere dedicate a Maradona
Per Napoli, Maradona non è solo un simbolo sportivo, ma è una vera e propria icona da venerare. Lo si capisce bene non appena si arriva ai Quartieri Spagnoli in via Emanuele De Deo dove si trova uno dei murales più iconici del Pibe de Oro e dove in seguito alla sua morte, è stato allestito un vero e proprio santuario con tanto di negozio di souvenir.
Oltre a quest’opera, di Maradona ce ne sono infiniti sui muri di Napoli, solo nei Quartieri Spagnoli abbiamo individuati altri 5-6 alcuni dipinti, altri invece attaccati con poster.
L’altro murales dedicato a Maradona è quello di Jorit “Dios Umano” a San Giovanni a Teduccio in Strada Comunale Taverna del Ferro, 42.
