Yellowcard, Mayday Parade, Story of the Year & This Wild Life at Cadence Bank Amphitheatre

It’s been a while since Yellowcard hit the road, much less a massive U.S. trek. In 2017, the band readied themselves to call it quits after a farewell world tour. As purveyors of melodic punk and alternative music, Yellowcard has made a significant impact as the quintessential emo band during their prime. In 2016, they supposedly released their final album, an eponymous record, serving as their final hurrah before breaking up the following year. The album featured one of the last singles, “The Hurt Is Gone,” which also coincided with a music video.

Last year, the band announced their reunion and performed an electrifying set at the Riot Fest in Chicago, Illinois. The emo legends performed the entirety of their breakthrough album, Ocean Avenue. After wrapping up a phenomenal reunion show, the band appeared at another festival and announced they are performing at an upcoming pop-punk festival in 2023.

This year, Yellowcard embarks on a reunion tour, and they are bringing their friends Mayday Parade, Story of the Year, and This Wild Life. In a statement, frontman Ryan Key expressed excitement for the upcoming outing. "Announcing a Yellowcard tour is something I never thought we would get to do again. Much less, a tour with bands of this caliber made up of such amazing people and good friends. Being given the opportunity to play music together again is truly a gift that we are not taking for granted. We are going to make these shows extremely special for all of the fans who we have missed so much these last six years."

Yellowcard retired as a band six years ago. They released their tenth (and final, for now) studio LP, Yellowcard , via Hopeless Records in 2016. They returned to the stage at Riot Fest in Chicago last September.

“When we stepped away in 2017, all of us thought it was truly the end,” the band said at the time. “However our journey together continues to surprise us.”

Certified double platinum in the US by the RIAA, gold in Canada, and silver in the UK,  Ocean Avenue  solidified Yellowcard’s indelible mark on the music world.  The undying esteem that the album owns has not diminished in the twenty years since its release. With signature singles “Way Away,” “Only One,” and the title track “Ocean Avenue” among the 13 tracks, it not only marks their entrance into the mainstream but also the stratospheric success of the band whose subsequent albums cemented the band’s legacy in the history of alternative music.

We are going to make these shows extremely special for all of the fans who we have missed so much these last six years.”

Last year Yellowcard announced their reunion after a five-year hiatus. Now they've revealed that they are heading out on tour across the US this Summer, as a celebration of their classic album Ocean Avenue . Released in 2003, Ocean Avenue saw the band ascend from scrappy Florida upstarts into bonafide pop-punk superstars. From the sun-stained title track to the likes of Way Away and Empty Apartment getting plays on episodes of Smallville and One Tree Hill, respectively, it's a record that embodies a special time and place in the genre. And 20 years on, the band are going to be paying homage.

The band will be joined by This Wild Life on all dates and Mayday Parade, Anberlin and Story Of The Year on select dates. Emo Night Brooklyn are also going to be coming along for the ride for DJ sets at some dates too. Tickets will be going on pre-sale from February 15 at 10AM local time before the general public sale on February 17. Check out the tour itinerary below:

Yellowcard announce ‘Ocean Avenue’ 20th anniversary tour

After making an initial “comeback” of sorts for Riot Fest in 2022, Yellowcard have announced their first full headlining tour in over six years.

The band will be embarking on a North American tour, produced by Live Nation, celebrating 20 years of their seminal album, Ocean Avenue . Yellowcard will kick off the tour on July 5th in Baltimore, Maryland and circle the continent until wrapping up on August 8th in Denver, Colorado.

Support will come from Mayday Parade, Story of the Year, Anberlin, and This Wild Life on select dates. Emo Night Brooklyn will also be opening the show with a special DJ set in select cities.

“ Announcing a Yellowcard tour is something I never thought we would get to do again, much less, a tour with bands of this caliber made up of such amazing people and good friends, ” says Yellowcard guitarist/vocalist Ryan Key. “ Being given the opportunity to play music together again is truly a gift that we are not taking for granted. We are going to make these shows extremely special for all of the fans who we have missed so much these last six years. ”

Tickets starting at $29.50 and VIP packages will be available beginning with an Artist presale on Wednesday, February 15th at 10am local time. Additional presales will be available throughout the week before general on sale starting Friday, February 17 at 10am local time here .
