SanTan Tours last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Yes. As you tour the facility, you’ll have the opportunity to taste SanTan products in their rawest forms in various stages of production. Some of these samples contain alcohol, about the equivalent of three beverages. Please drink responsibly. 

No, but our Chandler Pub is located in Downtown Chandler – less than 3 miles away from the Tour Facility. 

Tour attendees must be aged 21 or older.

Tour capacity is 10 attendees. Please contact us if you’d like to arrange for a larger group tour.

*Transportation in partnership with Brewery Distillery Tours Niagara. Small groups of 2 to 14 guests ride in style in our Mercedes Benz Touring vehicles. The day before the tour, you will be emailed a 15 minute pickup window that will be within the hour before the tour start. Please inquire alternate pick-up locations. If you are not present at the pick up time our driver will make one attempt to call the number on the booking reservation. If you miss your pick up time, you may join, at your own cost, the tour in progress.

We require 48 hours notice prior to the tour date to provide a refund for cancellations. No shows on the day of the tour or rescheduling within 24 hours of the tour date will not be provided a refund, but we will reschedule based on availability.

6 Brewery and Distillery Tours to Take in Pittsburgh

You already know that you love our local breweries and distilleries, so why not learn a little more about them?

Below, you’ll find six Pittsburgh alcohol producers that offer behind-the-scenes tours every weekend. And, just for fun, we’ve even included an extra-special haunted brewery tour that you won’t want to miss this October.

East End Brewing: Grains to Glass Brewery Tour

EEBC hosts their “Grains to Glass Brewery Tour” twice a month at their brewery in Larimer.

For $25 per person, guests receive four samplings of current East End Beers, a tour of the facilities, information on how beer starts at grains and ends in your glass (with a chance to taste the ingredients), and a free growler full of the beer of your choice

The entire tour and tasting lasts about an hour, but guests are welcome to linger afterwards. Tickets can be purchased online .

Maggie’s Farm Rum Distillery Tours

Pittsburgh’s local rum distiller (which has been getting a lot of national acclaim ) runs tours of their distillery every Saturday afternoon.

These tours walk guests through the history of rum. Guests will learn about the specific processes of rum production, and get an upfront look at Maggie’s fermentation and distillation equipment.  The tour runs approximately 60-90 minutes, and includes a tasting of each of the rums and rum liqueurs that Maggie’s makes.

If you want to arrive and grab a cocktail, you’ll be permitted to bring it on the tour. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online .

Boyd & Blair Vodka Distillery Tours

Located just up Route 8, and 15 minutes from Downtown Pittsburgh, is the distillery for Boyd & Blair, a Pittsburgh-made potato vodka.

The distillery is open to the public every Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for free tours and tastings. Tours are conducted on the half hour, and guests will learn the step-by-step process that the vodka takes from potato to bottle.

Body & Blair often brings in live music and food trucks on Saturdays, so follow their Facebook to see who will be arriving each week.

Boyd & Blair   (1101 William Flynn Hwy., Glenshaw)

Wigle Whiskey Tours

Pittsburgh’s whiskey empire, Wigle Whiskey, offers tours for both their Strip District distillery, and Northside Barrelhouse.

Stop by the distillery on Saturdays (and now some Fridays) for a tour and taste of Wigle. The tour starts with a look at Wigle’s organic, local grain, and an explanation of how they transform it into whiskeys, gins, rums, and vodka.

The tour will also include a telling of the true tale of the Pittsburgh Whiskey Rebellion, one of the country’s quirkiest and most pivotal events.

Tickets include a cocktail, tour of the distillation process, a history of the Whiskey Rebellion, and a seated tasting of straight spirits. The tour lasts one hour and tickets can be purchased online .

Barrelhouse tours occur on Saturdays and Sundays from May through mid-October. Sip on a barrel-aged cocktail and get a sneak peek (and taste) of Wigle’s experimental whiskeys. Tickets are $20 and include the tour, a cocktail, and a tasting of five straight spirits. You can also schedule a private tour at either location, with a group of 12 or more.

Penn Brewery Tours

Head to a Pittsburgh classic, Penn Brewery, at 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays for a behind-the-scenes tour of Penn Brewery’s beer production, led by one of Penn’s brewers.

Founded in 1986, Penn Brewery is one of the grandfathers of Pittsburgh’s craft brewing scene. Additionally, the brewery is located in the old Eberhardt and Ober Brewery building on the Northside, which dates back to the 19th century, so there’s plenty to learn and see on this tour.

Tickets to the tour are $25 and include a 16 oz. beer, and your choice of either a Penn T-shirt or a filled growler.

Haunted Brewery Tour at Rivertowne Brewing

This Halloween season, Rivertowne is making things a little more spooky, and offering haunted brewery tours throughout October. Rumor has it that that the Rivertowne Brewery is haunted, so stop through to see everything up close while “getting your wits scared out of ya.” Tours run on October 6, October 7, October 13, October 14, October 20, October 21, October 27, and October 28  at 7:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m., and 9:00 p.m.

Learn about the process, sample some brews, and “party with all the other ghosts and goblins that frequent the brewery this time of year.”

Rivertowne will also host traditional brewery tours on September 23  at 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m. Call 724-519-2145 to book your spot.

Smokestack Tour

The smokestack tour is currently offered on mondays & thursdays in the afternoon | tickets are released on a weekly basis on wednesdays..

The Smokestack Tour is two great Boulevard Brewing Co. experiences in one delightful package! You'll sip, you'll smell, and learn all about our beers from the classics to the Smokestack Series with two expert guides. Then after an hour + walking tour through beer history and our brewhouses, you'll enjoy the magic of food and beer with 4 bites expertly paired with the perfect BLVD beers at our Tours and Rec Center.

$40 + taxes and fees

NO ONE UNDER 21 PERMITTED, no kids, no babies.

Unfiltered Tour

Join us on Fridays & Sundays for a two-hour production tour that includes multiple tasters and full pours along the way. Go ‘behind the glass’ and peer into our vessels while you learn the science of making & tasting our beers. Take home a souvenir tasting notebook and 11.5oz goblet

Public Brewery Tours

Enjoy a 1-hour walking tour of the brewery that concludes with samples in our Tasting Room. Join our knowledgeable guides to see the brewery, imbibe something new, and wax poetic on all things beer and Boulevard!

Tour tickets are $10 on weekdays and include four 5 oz samples. Tickets are $15 on weekends and holidays and include five 5oz samples to be enjoyed during and after the tour. Tickets should be purchased in advance by clicking HERE . Advance ticket sales stop at 10:00 am CST on the day of the tour. Occasionally day-of tickets will be available if all tickets are not sold by door opening; so you may inquire at the front desk. However, please note that weekend and holiday time slots typically fill up fast!

Tours are not recommended for children under 7. All tour guests (except babes in arms) must have a ticket. Anyone wishing to sample beer should be prepared to present a valid ID. Underage tour guests will get a complimentary Polly’s Pop soda with their ticket.

Happy Hour Tour + Tasting

Grab a friend and meet us at the Tours & Rec Center for a short-n-sweet spin through Boulevard’s favorite things: brewing, beers, and bites!

We’ll start things off with an up-close and personal look inside Brewhouse One (the one that started it all), then settle in for a laid-back guided tasting with a fun & friendly tour guide. Featuring a selection of bite-sized snacks paired with Boulevard sips, this is the perfect way to end the day or begin the night.

Private Tours

Brooklyn Brewery & Distillery Tour

Our newest tour of what’s being brewed and distilled in Brooklyn!

Brooklyn Brewery & Distillery Tour

Hop aboard the ONLY guided bus tour of the unique spirits and beers being brewed in Brooklyn!

Stops include King’s County Distillery in the Brooklyn Navy Yard where you learn how they make, as well as sample, their bourbon, whiskey, moonshine and more! They were voted Distillery of the Year in 2016!

Next stop is Circa Brewing Co. in Downtown Brooklyn where you’ll sample a flight of four of their unique beers from gose to pale ale to IPA and more! You’ll also have lunch there consisting of mouthwatering Margherita pizza!

The last stop is Other Half Brewery in Gowanus where you’ll tour the facility and then sample some of their unique creations as well!

What You’ll Do and See

• Discover the best of what’s being brewed in Brooklyn!
• Visit King’s County Distillery, NYC’s oldest and largest premier whiskey distillery! They make handmade moonshine, bourbon and other whiskeys out of the Brooklyn Navy Yard and were voted Distillery of the Year in 2016!
• You’ll not only get a tour of King’s County but you’ll also sample four different whiskeys, bourbons and moonshine.
• Visit Circa Brewing Co. in Downtown Brooklyn! They’re located in a 6,000-square-foot space in downtown Brooklyn where they feature 12 tap lines of carefully crafted draft beer, all of which is brewed on premises by Head Brewer Drew Kostic.
• Besides sampling a range of styles from pilsner to gose to New England-style IPA at Circa, they’re also known for their award-winning Neapolitan style, Margherita pizza which you’ll have for lunch along with their award-winning beers personally curated for you by their brew master!
• Visit Other Half Brewery located in the Gowanus section of Brooklyn! They’re located in the shadow of the Brooklyn Queens Expressway and have made quite a name for themselves in the beer world.
• Other Half Brewery’s 4,000-square-foot brewery and tasting room turns out five hops-forward beers, including a West Coast–style IPA, a cask-conditioned Motueka pale ale and a black ale brewed with winter barley. Heavier selections include an imperial stout and sour beers. All brewing is done on site while next-door is their tap room where you’ll be sampling their beer!

Our tour guide, Brian, was knowledgeable, thoughtful, and on-point with the beer options. He had history tidbits about Cincinnati, which made the stops even more interesting. He took into account the tastes of the participants and pushed us to explore new beers. We will do this again!

New Buffalo and Three Oaks, Michigan The drive: 1.5 hours

I could tell you that my lifelong besties and I make an annual pilgrimage to southwest Michigan’s Harbor Country for the sunsets, which turn the sky and lake into a painter’s palette of lavender and saffron and indigo and invite us to contemplate the fleeting nature of beauty and time and life itself. And that would mostly be true. But even truer is that we like to drink beer in a church. And whiskey in a former buggy whip factory. And margaritas at the Stray Dog Bar & Grill. And Cabernet along the Lake Michigan Shore Wine Trail. 

If a pub crawl grew up, settled down, and invested in a nice little lake retreat, it would look a lot like southwest Michigan. Name the spirit, it’s got it. Name the vibe, it’s there. All nestled among quiet, walkable streets and charming boutiques and vintage lakeside cabins that make you feel a million miles (though actually only about 70) from Chicago’s hustle. 

My besties and I started consolidating our birthday celebrations into one fall getaway five years ago. It’s something of a holy miracle when we can all clear our schedules the same weekend, so it’s only fitting that we kick things off in a church. Specifically, Beer Church Brewing Co., housed inside a former Methodist church built in the 1860s. John Lustina and Jane Simon bought the structure eight years ago and converted it into a delightful brewery and pizza joint, saving it from destruction and adding just a hint of subversion to New Buffalo’s town square, which is otherwise populated by family-friendly spots like Oink’s Dutch Treat (ice cream) and Uncle Jib’s Outpost (paddleboard and kayak rentals). 

For the past two years, we’ve ventured east for an afternoon to Three Oaks, where a refurbished factory building from the 1800s houses Journeyman Distillery. A stroll up and down Elm Street looking for antiques and housewares is the perfect way to walk off the whiskey … just in time to belly up to yet another bar. Froehlich’s Kitchen & Pantry has a great selection of craft beers and, at least the late-October weekend we visited last year, a host dressed like Mike Ditka, right down to the sweater vest. How could you not love this place?

“ Froehlich’s has a Trifecta Pepper Burger that has a three-pepper relish and breaded jalapeño poppers on top. It’s a blend of brisket, short rib, and sirloin. And they know the difference between rare and medium-rare. It’s such a delicious and huge burger. I’m a man that’s way too large and I still have to take half of it home.”
