Changing flight date challenges

The booking process was fine but somehow the return leg is completely the wrong date. I want to change it to be the correct date but the change option takes me to chat which continually states that there is an internal error and it cannot assist. There appears to be no other way to address this issue - which is frustrating.

Quick and easy process from start to finish. Used skyscanner and budget air came with the cheapest and best flights went to their website to continue to purchase flights and was done swiftly. Other companies namely lastminute dot com prices changed as soon as I went to their website from skyscanner. Ridiculous. The price quoted should be the price paid. Terrible experience and one of the worst customer services

One of the worse companies I’ve dealt with on customer service level which is inexistent and unwillingness to fix the problems they create. They charge people for services they can’t provide and they probably use the customers money for their own benefit until they decide to refund them. I’ll never use them again and I’ll make sure I’ll tell everyone I know to stay away from them.

They're allowed to make you Rebuy

I completed my booking then got an email to say the airline isn't offering that price anymore? And to rebook, and here's a discount code to say sorry to you, the discount code didn't work on any device, on any browser and the price increased by 9% I asked for a complaint and the chat system and iv been met with nonsense responses and not taking the complaint seriously. Zero resolve to price increase and they're allowed to cancel your booking and make u rebuy if the price suddenly jumps up in 5 minutes

Flight time changed with no refund offered!

The airline changed the time of the flights to a time I am unable to make due to coming in from another flight. The airline told me I would be eligible to get a refund through my travel agent (budgetair) however, budget air are refusing to refund me.

Unacceptable sharp practice

The modus operandi of this company goes beyond ‘sharp practice’. To take your money and confirm your purchase, then - an hour later - to send the following email is unacceptable: We are sorry to let you know that your selected flight could not be booked as the fare you initially chose is no longer available from the airline. To offer an £8 compensatory payment as a result is laughable. I guess being based in the Netherlands exhonourates it from from any ABTA/ATOL codes of practice.

Inexpensive flights, fiddly site

It took many attempts to get the exact flights desired. The platform continued to suggest flights that were similar to what I had expressly chosen, but with slight variations, such as the right departure time, but adding a longer layover than necessary, or suggesting the right return journey, but having the departure take off later than my preferences. I can only complain so much though as ultimately, this platform was about £15 cheaper than the next cheapest platform and about £60 cheaper than booking directly with the airline in question. In the end, it's a question of how much pain is worth the discount.

Great experience using this company. Return flight was cancelled due to a problem with airlines booked with. Sent an email and got a reponse within 10 minutes. Got my refund within 24 hours and a discount code. Was hesitant using another company to book flights with rather than booking directly with the airlines itself but had no problems whatsoever and worked out alot cheaper. Simple and good value for money

Hard to give a review beyond the booking of flights as I’ve not yet experienced the travel part. Overall relatively easy to use if you are somewhat experienced using travel booking sites. Extras all along the way from initial quoted prices to watch out for but much cheaper than direct from the airline which is how I normally book flights. Good typical sales tactics to add extras. Since booking I’ve received other offers from having the ESTA to car hire and accommodation. I have to say it’s definitely worth doing more investigation before using services offered by Budget Air as they go through 3rd parties which may be less safe and more expensive than going directly to the source. I found for the ESTA which should only cost around $20 that the link provided the cost would have been almost 3 times that amount.

I bought a round trip from San Francisco California to Brazil, and stayed there for two months and the day I was coming back I was surprised in the airport in Brazil that my name wasn't on it. They somehow are a third party company that you get directed to when you are booking certain flights through google flights. They book your flight with their on cards! When a refund is issued it goes to their bank card not yours

Do not book with them! My family of 6 booked return flights with them for a quick trip to Yellowknife and three weeks before they changed our flight dates. There's no way to get a hold of them, and no alternative options presented by them. None of us can make it for that long as we have jobs, and all our accommodation and activities are non refúndale by now. Worst mistake ever!

Worst customer service. Emirates cancelled my flight due to a document I never had was never asked if I wanted to change the date nothing I then inquire about a refund spoke to three different people all a different story. For a £337. Ticket they wanted to charge me £185 airport cancellation plus £55 administration fee couldn't help with booking another ticket for a different date and was told I would have to pay more money. Would certainly never recommend them.

Tip for consumers: Read everything as they certainly catch you in the end.

There’s no way to get in touch with any live people. I was directed to a chatbot to a person in India and I had to cancel my reservation within a half hour and still don’t know whether I will get the full refund that the airline said they would give .

Charge due to system failure

I needed to book two tickets for a roundtrip toronto - calgary for my mom and myself. An hour after booking, I received an email that one of the flight bookings didn't go through. I contacted support and they said it happens when the system price change. However this is supposed to be a birthday trip with my mom and I couldn't travel by myself, because of that I contacted support to cancel my other flight as well. Although it was only two hours & the reason for cancellation was system error, I was told I still had to pay $77 as "admin fee". I didn't want to my lose money on this, hence I'm now taking the flight. It was shocking to know that customers are made to pay a fee due to failure of system booking. Shouldn't there be a better way to track multiple bookings by same customer on same day/time? I get that it was under "basic service package" but I felt penalized for being a returning customer, will not be recommending or using budgetair again.

DISAPPOINTED AND SCAMMED

I bought a ticket for my son (3yr old) and wife. Ive already purchased mine before at the airline webpage. So I selected the same flight for them so we could fly together. Days later I received an email from budgetair with a Flight Schedule Change. Said that the airline changed the schedule. That´s a lie because i still hace the same schedule on my personal flight. So now they would have to fly more hours, fly without me and have more and longer stops. Of course this longer trip with stops is cheaper than the one I bought for them. No refund policy is unheard of

It is not usual for an airline ticketing company to not offer a 24 hour free cancellation. This is a Kim, everyone should be entitled to change their mind within a short period of time, even in the most complex agreements. I believe this explains why you’re offering cheaper rate than the airline itself because you’re feeding off of customers who hastily make reservations, and cannot Change their mind without paying the penalty. Your business, in fact is making money off of the penalties. I’m tempting to share this, with my influencers and content creator colleagues to expose your awful business plan! The policy of no refund can’t be easily found if at all.

A terrible experience I had

I ordered two tickets from budgetair.com three weeks ago,and they made a very very big mistake when they spell one of my customer’s name, and the ticket is the kind of non refundable tickets ,that means I have to pay double price to buy another ticket for the same traveling , which make me loss about $1600.How terrible this mistake is!!!Moreover, there is even no any compensation from the budget air.com!What a horrible experience I had! The chart section does not give costumer the space to write until many of questions already asked no matter whether is right or wrong. Maybe the web disinter thinking this is the best way to filter out unrelated question, but in the reality, it is so stressful for costumer unable to get the point. BTW the premier fee BudgetAir charged R/G tickets changing and cancelation fee waived is totally misleading. It is not true for tickets situation, it is only for web vender. I do not think this is the honest way to do the business.

The booked ticket information can not be found in the airline website and the seat could not be selected, though the air ticket was issued. Replying email has to wait for 7 days.

Clear Displays / Web Client Could be Improved

Fairly clear displays although I think the web client could be improved. I found I could not add a passenger after choosing flights, and had to go back to the beginning and start over. Small things like that could be improved. Otherwise, the web client is not bad.

I didn’t receive the email confirmation did my purchase and after 24 hours I was panicking, I read some forums and what I read was scary. I ended up creating an account (first time I registered with budgetair canada) then I figured out I had booked through budgetair.com (US) there I found my reservation. The lack of any customer service is horrible. I realised that I was lucky but if I would have entered my email address wrong or something like that I would have lost my money since there is no way to get any support. The chat option is useless.

A massive US aid bill for countries including Israel and Ukraine held up for months will be filed in the House of Representatives today, the House speaker's has said. 

Mike Johnson said the text of four bills providing assistance to Ukraine, Israel and the Indo-Pacific would be filed "soon today", with a fourth including "other measures to confront Russia, China and Iran" posted later.

The bill, worth some $95bn (£76bn), was approved by the Democrat-led Senate on 13 February, but is likely to face stiff opposition in the Republican-controlled House of Representatives when it eventually makes the floor.

Both houses of Congress must approve the bill before President Joe Biden can sign it into law. 

However, former president Donald Trump and his Republican allies in Congress want funding directed toward domestic issues such as border control, rather than on foreign wars. 

Critics of Mr Trump have suggested he is deliberately blocking legislation that would ensure funding for both Ukraine and border control because he intends to focus his election campaign on immigration and it is therefore not in his interests to improve the perceived problems.

The United Nations' Security Council will vote on Friday on whether to allow Palestine to fully join the organisation, anonymous sources have told the Reuters news agency.

Israel's ally the US is expected to block the move, as it would effectively recognise a Palestinian state. 

The 15-member council is due to vote at 3pm local time 8pm UK time on Friday on a draft resolution that recommends to the 193-member UN General Assembly that "the state of Palestine be admitted to membership of the United Nations," said diplomats. 

The council needs nine votes to pass it - and crucially no vetoes from any of the permanent members (US, UK, France, Russia or China).

Italy, which holds the G7's rotating presidency, has been pushing for a ceasefire in Gaza and a de-escalation in the wider Middle East. 

"Against a background of strong international tensions, the Italian-led G7 is tasked with working for peace," foreign minister Antonio Tajani said in a statement.

The G7 pledged support for Israel following the attack. 

A single Israeli shell destroyed more than 4,000 embryos when it struck Gaza's largest fertility clinic in December, it has emerged,

The explosion blasted the lids off five liquid nitrogen tanks at Gaza City's Al Basma IVF centre, causing to evaporate the -180C liquid holding the embryos and 1,000 more specimens of sperm and unfertilized eggs.

"We know deeply what these 5,000 lives, or potential lives, meant for the parents, either for the future or for the past," said Bahaeldeen Ghalayini, 73, the Cambridge-trained obstetrician and gynaecologist who established the clinic in 1997.

At least half of the couples can no longer produce sperm or eggs to make viable embryos, he said.

"My heart is divided into a million pieces."

In April, the embryology lab was still strewn with broken masonry, blown-up lab supplies and, amid the rubble, the liquid nitrogen tanks, according to a Reuters-commissioned journalist who visited the site.

The former director of intelligence at the Israeli spy agency, Mossad, says targeting nuclear facilities in Iran is among the options on the table as Israel decides how to respond to Saturday's attack.

Zohar Palti spoke to  The World with Yalda Hakim  in Jerusalem about possible responses after Iran launched more than 300 missiles and drones at Israel.

Asked if everything was on the table, including targeting nuclear facilities, Mr Palti said: "No doubt. Everything is on the table right now." 

Pressed on whether this included nuclear facilities, he said: "Including everything."

Iran temporarily closed its nuclear facilities on Sunday over "security considerations" and the International Atomic Energy Agency kept its inspectors away for two days.

The attack on Israel came after a deadly suspected Israeli strike on the Iranian consulate in Syria. The IDF said 99% of the weapons fired at Israel failed to break through its air defences.

There is little doubt in diplomatic and political circles here that Israel will carry out a reprisal attack on Iran.

David Cameron, on a short visit to Jerusalem, said as much in TV interviews.

The questions remain when and where. Israeli leaders are keeping that very close, not even telling visiting foreign ministers from allied countries, but it might be that no final decision has been made.

Cameron is canny enough to know that if he came here pushing a message of "don't do it" then he might be shown up as ineffective in the coming days.

And so the language has changed to "okay, if you have to do it, then make sure it's reasonable and doesn't escalate matters further". 

With the US and European capitals saying the same (the German foreign minister was here today too), it might have some sway.

Israel says it needs to send Iran a clear message but doesn't want an escalation - that's all very well but Iran might not see it like that.

Assuming the do-nothing, "take-the-win" option is off the table, the next best outcome is for a series of increasingly smaller events that ultimately see this crisis fizzle out.

I've also picked up frustration among diplomats over political attempts back in the UK to designate the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terror organisation. 

It would have no impact on the current crisis and could put the future of the British Embassy in doubt. 

That would then remove a vital back-channel of communication, not just for the UK, but for allies like the US and Israel to lean on London for that. 

It's moments like these when those channels come into their own and the Foreign Office can be influential.

Ultimately though, Israel's main message to Iran won't be via diplomatic back-channels but a military strike which, in their words, will be "in a manner and time of their choosing".

The Lebanese foreign minister is speaking with special correspondent Alex Crawford following exchanges of fire between Hezbollah and Israel across the Israeli border.

Asked about Israel's determination to retaliate against Iran, Abdallah Bou Habib says Lebanon is worried.

"Any kind of revenge is going to end up with a bigger war, probably," he says.

"And therefore Lebanon, Syria and Jordan may be in trouble."

Mr Habib hopes for a ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel, he says.

If the UN were to move in that direction, the Lebanese government would "most probably" support it.

"We are left not able to do anything of the sort. It is not a matter of the Hezbollah stronger than the Lebanese army, because they not going to collide or fight each other."

Up until 7 October, there was "nothing on the border", he says, saying he hoped to return to a stable border.

More than 5,000 houses have been destroyed in Lebanon by Israeli attacks, says Mr Habib.

Asked about Hezbollah's backing of the Iranian attack, Mr Habib says: "We do not welcome it and we don't denounce the attack, because Israel started it."

"We do not have influence over Hezbollah as long as there is fighting between them and Israelis, and if we have a choice then we support Hezbollah."

A two-state solution is "the solution for most of the problems in the Middle East", he says.

Foreign Secretary Lord Cameron has said he repeated his view that any response to Iran should be designed to limit and de-escalate the conflict when visiting Israel today.

"Nobody wants to see this conflict grow and spread," said Lord Cameron.

He turned to Hamas, which he blamed for holding up a truce deal in Gaza.

"Everyone should recognise that it is Hamas that is causing this conflict to continue."

Benjamin Netanyahu has thanked the British and German foreign ministers for their input, but said Israel would make its own decisions on security.

"Our allies have all kinds of suggestions and advice, I appreciate it, but I want to make it clear - we will make our own decisions, and the State of Israel will do everything necessary to defend itself," he said.

Lord Cameron has been in Israel today, alongside his German counterpart Annalena Baerbock, urging restraint in response to Iran's drone and missile attack.

UK Foreign Office minister David Rutley has been making a statement to Parliament on the situation in Gaza, where he says the humanitarian situation "is dire".

He insists the UK has "not changed our focus" on ensuring Israel meets "commitments to allow 500 aid trucks a day into Gaza" and open additional land corridors.

"We're pushing as hard as we can to get aid to Palestinian civilians... and we've been urging Israel at the highest level to take immediate action on the bottlenecks holding up humanitarian relief," he says.

The MP says ministers were "horrified" by the attack on humanitarian workers in Gaza, which killed seven people, including three Britons.

"Israel must do more to protect aid workers," he says.

David Lammy, the shadow foreign secretary, says that conditions in Gaza are "desperate and intolerable", saying famine has "taken hold" and sewage is spilling into the streets.

He adds there is "aid sat waiting, unable to reach those who are in need, some rotting where they stood, items removed from trucks without explanation.

"Doctors are reusing single-use medical equipment from patients who have died."

Mr Lammy says: "This is a description of hell on Earth.

"It cannot go on."

He asks why the government has not yet restored funding to UNRWA, the UN's humanitarian relief agency in Gaza.

"It's shocking in the face of famine that the UK is one of the last major donors that has not yet resumed funding, without explanation."

The UK was among donors which suspended funding to the agency in January after Israel claimed some of its members were involved in Hamas's 7 October attacks - but no evidence to support those allegations has since been provided by Israel.
