Hints and tips for improving your chances of getting Coldplay tickets

Make sure you have a my ticketmaster account.

Get the basics covered before tickets go on sale by logging in and checking your Ticketmaster account ahead of time. If you don’t have a Ticketmaster Account then make sure you sign up in advance –  Ticketmaster.com.au .

Sign into your My Ticketmaster account ahead of time

Remember to triple check your passwords, account information, and billing information are all filled in correctly in advance, that way you’re not facing any last-minute account updates when trying to process your order.

Keep your options open with ‘Best Available’

Save time by searching “Best Available,” which scans all sections fast – it’s quicker than searching sections one at a time.

Keep an eye on the clock

There will be a time limit applied to all transactions as you are progressed through the ticket purchasing stages. Remember to keep an eye on the timer on your screen and move through the processing pages as quickly as possible (this is even easier when you’ve completed the account set-up stage we mentioned above).

Don’t refresh your screen

Stick to one window while you’re in the  Waiting Room  and when you’re being pushed through  the Smart Queue  and always resist the urge to refresh.

Hitting the refresh button means you’ll lose your place in the queue and, as frustrating as it can get, patience is the only way to win this game. Ticketmaster is equipped with sophisticated systems that are designed to manage and process ticket purchases as quickly as possible. The queuing system that appears on your screen will place you at the front of the line as soon as possible.

Remember: there are a lot of fans

We’re expecting this to be a very popular event. When a popular event goes on sale there are hundreds, and sometimes thousands, of customers all attempting to purchase tickets at the same time. Tickets are sold as long as seats are available, and when an act is this popular, sometimes they go very quickly.

Be sure to follow the above tips to ensure you have the best chance of snapping up some tickets.

Coldplay will bring their Music Of The Spheres Tour to Australia in October 2024. Tickets are on sale via Ticketmaster.com.au.

Coldplay Announce 2024 Australian Tour Dates

After their 'Music Of The Spheres' shows took place in Perth over the weekend, Coldplay will return to Australia and New Zealand in October and November 2024.

More Coldplay

After bringing their Music Of The Spheres show to Perth this weekend, Coldplay will return to Australia and New Zealand in October and November 2024, lining up shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland.

This weekend, they played in Perth – at Optus Stadium – for the first time since 2009, with special guests Amy Shark, Thelma Plum and Tash Sultana . They were also joined by local openers King Ibis and Adrian Dzvuke .

Here’s what The Music reviewer Sam Mead had to say about the band’s first Perth show - don’t forget, a second concert was added due to demand: “The energy is unreal - it’s like sitting in your front room with 60,000 other friends, listening to Chris and the boys set your house on fire in the best way possible.”

Mead also called the show “a pure spectacle of a live performance”, praising the band’s punchy, hard-hitting grooves and journey through their rich 26-year-old catalogue.

Now, for the first time since 2016, Coldplay are coming back to Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland. They’ve locked in two dates in Melbourne and Sydney – Wednesday, 30 and Thursday, 31 October at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium, and Wednesday, 6 and Thursday, 7 November at Sydney’s Accor Stadium. On Wednesday, 13 November, they’ll headline Auckland’s Eden Park.

In addition to the very exciting news about their return, Coldplay will bring special guests PinkPantheress and Emmanuel Kelly along for the ride.

The fan pre-sale begins at 10 am local time on Wednesday, 29 November, with the general sale starting on Friday, 1 December, at 10 am local time. You can buy tickets via the Coldplay website .

The  Music Of The Spheres  tour, which kicked off in Costa Rica’s San José on 18 March 2022 and has made its way around the world, is one of the most progressive for accessibility and sustainability , with the band having planted over seven million trees around the globe – one tree planted per concertgoer.

Music Of The Spheres , the band’s ninth album, was  released in 2021,  and The Music described it as “an epic pop symphony”. While not hitting the commercial highs of their previous albums, it spawned the massive hit  My Universe  with  BTS,  as well as the ten-minute sensation Coloratura . One of the first new albums to take full advantage of Apple Music's spatial audio mixing, the album is a sonic feast.

Coldplay returning for 2024 Australian shows following Perth-exclusive concerts

four men in t-shirts, with a blue sky and clouds above them.

  • X (formerly Twitter)

This past weekend, Coldplay wrapped up two massive stadium shows in Perth – their first performance in Western Australia in over 14 years .

It was believed to be the only shows Down Under the British pop-rock titans would do but now they've confirmed they'll return to Australia this next time next year for an East Coast leg of the Music Of The Spheres tour.

Chris Martin and his amazing technicolour bandmates will play Marvel Stadium in Melbourne over two nights in October, 2024, then head up Sydney's Accor Stadium for two nights before jetting off to Auckland.

If you haven't seen Coldplay since their early days, back when they were British indie rock darlings circa early 2000s, then you might be surprised at the kind of stadium size spectaculars they now produce.

Their latest tour has an intergalactic theme, and their two Perth shows featured vivid graphical displays, multiple stages, mid-set acoustic renditions, fireworks, and enough confetti to have you sparing a thought for the cleaners.

The set-list drew liberally from the band's ninth album, Music For The Spheres , but they also cherrypicked all their biggest and most recognisable hits: 'Clocks', 'Yellow', 'Viva La Vida', 'Fix You', and Avicii collab 'A Sky Full Of Stars'.

Having sold 7 million tickets since kicking off this tour, back in March 2022, Coldplay have shifted more tickets than any other live act in 2022.

The Perth shows were a huge win for Tourism WA, with Premier Mark McGowan describing the rush for tickets as "mind-boggling," telling Perth Now in May :

"I had no idea how popular they were but it turns out it's going to be great for tourism, great for hospitality, great for people coming into WA which is exactly what we wanted."

Supporting those dates were two homegrown favourites, Amy Shark and Thelma Plum , but for their upcoming 2024 dates Coldplay will be joined by two different acts.

Fresh from releasing her debut album Heaven Knows , PinkPantheress — the chart-topping Brit who mixes pop with vintage jungle and drum n bass, is the first support act.

Also performing will be Emmanuel Kelly , a former X Factor contestant with an inspirational backstory. He was born in an Iraqi war zone without hands or feet as a result of chemical warfare, then adopted by an Australian. We'll let Christ Martin explain further in the video below...

Catch Coldplay at the following shows. Tickets are on sale from 1 December, 10am local time but there's a fan presale happening 29 November. Find more info at Coldplay's website .

Coldplay are bringing their Music of the Spheres tour to Melbourne in 2024: here's everything we know

Including when tickets go on sale, so you can fire up the group chat and get planning

Winnie Stubbs

Viva la vida! It's the news everyone in Australia has been waiting for: global music superstars Coldplay are returning Down Under in 2024, with dates just announced for their Music of the Spheres world tour. And while it feels like a long time to wait (the band last performed in Melbourne in 2016), tickets are set to go on sale very soon.

When is Coldplay coming to Melbourne?

Coldplay will perform at Marvel Stadium on October 30 and 31, 2024. Two new shows on November 2 and 3 have also just been added.

How can I get tickets to the Melbourne Coldplay shows and how much do they cost?

The ticket pre-sale will start  at 10am on Wednesday, November 29, via the  Coldplay website  – with prices ranging from the $32 Infinity Tickets (a limited number of these will be released at an undisclosed time) to next-level “Ultimate Spheres” VIP experiences. The general sale will begin on Friday, December 1 via the  Coldplay website  and  Ticketmaster  – we have a feeling they’ll sell out at the speed of sound (ahem).

Where else is Coldplay playing in Australia as part of the 2024 Music of the Spheres tour?

The only other city lucky enough to score a visit from Coldplay is Sydney, with the band locked into performing at Accor Stadium on November 6 and 7, 2024. Auckland is also on the bill, with a show scheduled for November 13 at Eden Park. Considering it's a pretty quick visit, us Melburnians should be feeling pretty lucky right now.

What will Coldplay's Melbourne shows be like?

In November 2023, t he globally adored kings of the power ballad sold out two reportedly spectacular shows at Perth’s Optus Stadium – with fans donning solar-powered wristbands on arrival and encouraged to help generate energy by jumping on stationary bikes. The same sustainability-focused, sensory-overloading measures have been in place throughout Coldplay’s  entire  Music of the Spheres   tour, which has taken them through Europe, Central America, Britain and beyond.

Who is supporting Coldplay on their Melbourne shows?

D reamy pop PinkPantheress and  X Factor ’s Emmanuel Kelly have been announced as  supporting acts.

Just hours after wrapping up two showstopping performances in Western Australia, Coldplay have delivered the news Aussie fans have been waiting to hear.

The hugely popular British band will be bringing their Music Of The Spheres World Tour back to Australia next year, with four new dates booked in.

News.com.au’s Joshua Haigh was in attendance at the first of Coldplay’s two Perth shows on Saturday night - and called it “a masterclass in showmanship from both Martin and his bandmates... the rest of Australia can only pray that they decide to return soon because their concert is not one to be missed.”

Well, we’re in luck: Coldplay will perform on October 30 and 31 at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium, before heading to Sydney’s Accor Stadium on November 6 and 7.

In the announcement shared by Live Nation on Monday, fans were invited to register at Coldplay’s official website for access to the ticket presale, which will begin at 10am AEDT on Wednesday, November 29.

Coldplay have already seen enormous success with their latest tour, although they faced backlash back in May when it was announced they’d be playing a single stop in Australia – and it would be happening in one of the world’s most remote cities, Perth.

It marked Coldplay’s first performances in Australia since December 2016, when the Chris Martin-led group played five stadium dates across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Following their show-stopping performances in Western Australia, Coldplay announced four new tour dates for 2024, much to the delight of their devoted fans. News.com.au’s Joshua Haigh described their Perth shows as “a masterclass in showmanship” and urged the rest of Australia to keep their fingers crossed for a return.

Australian fans can now mark their calendars for Coldplay’s upcoming performances. On October 30th and 31st 2024, the band will rock Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium, followed by shows at Sydney’s Accor Stadium on November 6th and 7th.

This announcement comes after Coldplay faced backlash earlier this year for initially planning a single stop in Australia, which would take place in the remote city of Perth. However, it seems that the band has listened to their fans’ concerns, as they have now added more cities to their Australian tour.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to witness Coldplay’s incredible live performance. The band’s tour will feature talented support acts PinkPantheress and Emmanuel Kelly, promising an unforgettable experience for all concert-goers.

Get ready to sing along to your favourite Coldplay hits and be mesmerised by their captivating stage presence. Tickets are sure to sell out quickly, so make sure to mark the ticket sale dates and secure your spot for what promises to be an electrifying show.

For the first time since 2016 the British rock band will return for four shows across Sydney and Melbourne in 2024.

The group led by frontman Chris Martin will be supported by British singer PinkPantheress and Australian musician Emmanuel Kelly.

The band's "exclusive" shows in Perth on November 18 and 19, 2023, were thanks to a deal with the Western Australian Government.

On Coldplay's previous visit to Australia in 2016 the band visited Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney only.

Recent tour reviews

I had always heard Coldplay were a fantastic band to see live. They did not disappoint last night at Fedex Field, right in the midst of their joyous and decidedly over-the-top Head Full of Dreams tour.

The show began with an explosion of color and light (including the LED wristbands supplied to every concertgoer) in the titular track on the band's touring album. Then came fan-favorite "Yellow," followed by "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall," the ever-popular "The Scientist," and "Birds" (the latter was a bit of a personal disappointment as it replaced the brilliant "God Put a Smile Upon Your Face" from recent setlists). This part of the show finished with the anthem "Paradise," featuring an incredible remix outro.

Next the show slowed down for an intimate trio of songs (most of us actually took a seat). This included one of the better tracks from the sub-par "Ghost Stories", "Magic."

Soon, however, things picked up with the timeless piano strokes of "Clocks," themed to a magical red light show. Next came the lighthearted "Charlie Brown." Before it began, lead singer Chris Martin asked everyone to put away their phones and simply enjoy the show. This was followed by the radio hit "Hymn for the Weekend," a candlelit (okay...Iphone flashlight lit) "Fix You," and "Viva la Vida." This last one was remarkable, as nearly the entire stadium knew the lyrics and sang along to the triumphant "Oh-oh-ohhhh" chant. The groovy "Adventure of a Lifetime" finished off this section, featuring Chris gettin' down with the audience, asking everyone to "Get low!"

Then came the highlight of the night for me: an acoustic quad of older (*cough* better *cough*) Coldplay songs which were as intimate as they were nostalgic. The lovely riffs of "In my Place" started off the set. "Don't Panic" was sung by drummer Will Champion; it's one of my favorites. But it couldn't top what was (for me) the best song of the night: "Trouble." Somber but beautiful in its own way, "Trouble" is a rare find in the setlists of today's Coldplay and was absolutely fantastic. Finally came another rare gem: "Green Eyes," which was somewhat marred by Chris's well-intentioned attempt at giving the local Redskins some luck (HA! what folly) by changing the lyrics.

The finale of the show was the hopeful and popular trio of "Something Just like This," "A Sky Full of Stars," and "Up and Up." This last track was played against the backdrop of the magical and visually stunning music video for the song.

And if there were two adjectives to sum up the show as a whole, they would be just that: magical and visually stunning. Thanks for an awesome show, Coldplay!

First of all I need to just say wow! Wow! Yesterday I experienced one of the greatest nights of my life. Yesterday I really did feel like I was part of something special, something so big and beautiful. The love, the happiness and the excaitment people were feeling last night were something you can't put words on. We stood in the rain for so many hours, we sat in a que and then we stood in the rain again.. but let me just say that when Coldplay came on stage they put on the best god damn show ever. You could really feel their thankfulness during the show. They promised us (in Chris Martins own words) "The best fucking show ever" and let me tell you it was! During the night I got to experience people from different countries dancing and singing along together, I got to experience that moment when Chris decided to write a new song about Sweden and Gothenburg! The night was amazing in so many ways. And just as he said during the night, that he believes when people are working together and last night everybody in that arena stood together. We celebrated the music, the evening and most of all we celebrated the love. Because in the end of the day Love is what matters and it will always win.

Yesterday was beautiful, just pure beautiful!

A Coldplay concert is a real face to face experience for a someone who love their songs. It may not be an intimate experience but considering the legions of fans that they have only a concert can accommodate everyone who are waiting all their lives for a chance to hear them live. and they never disappoint. A total performance complete with lasers and light and firework BUT without much fanfare, just them singing & playing their hearts OUT song after song alone or in harmony with the fans some crying, most gleefully dancing to their upbeat song or swaying OR slow dancing to slow Fix You or Yellow and probably thinking of someone they "cannot replace". Chris Martin is an awesome guy and so are the rest of the band. May their personal lives be as awesome as their professional lives, they deserve that too. as to Singapore, it may not be as engaging as it would be in the Philippines but hey, no one can complain; i had the best time celebrating my birthday in one of the best stadium this side of town with around 50K Coldpay fans celebrating with me :) :). Long live Coldplay, may you continue to bring joy to you fans worldwide. Looking forward to another Coldplay concert experience in the future.

Aussie Depeche Mode fans are an incredibly patient bunch. The last time the British synth-pop titans toured the country was in 1994, meaning nearly three decades have passed since they last paid us a visit. In March 2023, Depeche Mode’s Dave Gahan told an Italian blog that the band were eyeing “as-yet-unannounced dates in Asia and Australia” as part of a touring run that would lead into 2024. The band have toured the world in support of their latest album, ‘Memento Mori’ , and a trip to Australia to cap off the jaunt seems more likely than ever.
