Diadem is a young brand in the tennis racquet industry that is becoming increasingly popular.

I recently tested all five Diadem tennis racquets, and my review of each is below. Diadem racquets feature two different lines.

Diadem Nova racquets help increase power on your shots.

Diadem Elevate racquets are geared towards control.

Diadem Elevate Nova tennis racquets stacked

Each line has a few different variations that I will explain below.

This review will help you decide if Diadem racquets are right for you and help you choose the best tennis racquet for your game.

Diadem Nova and Elevate Video Review

In the video below, I review 5 versions of the Nova and Elevate racquets.

Diadem Racquets are Great for Tennis Players of Any Skill Level

Although Diadem’s racquets aren’t as popular as Babolat racquets or other major brands, it is not for lack of quality.

Both the Diadem Nova and Elevate series play as good as, or better than many of the major brands you’ll find.

Diadem highlights three technologies that add a combination of power, stability, feel, and comfort to their racquets.

  • Flex Stabilization System
  • Impact Shield

You can read more about the technology behind Diadem racquets on the Diadem website .

Below, I will review Diadem racquets’ on-court performance to help you decide which Diadem racquet is right for you. They have five adult tennis racquets for all skill levels and playing styles.

An Overview of All 5 Diadem Tennis Racquets

The Nova series comes in three models while the Elevate racquets have two variations. These are in order from beginner to advanced, based on our recommendation.

The Diadem Nova racquets are great for beginner to intermediate level players who typically need help generating power on their shots.

I personally found the Diadem Elevate racquet to be one of the best I’ve played with in terms of control, feel, and stability.

Keep in mind that the type of string and string tension you use will also affect the control, feel, power, and general performance of your racquet. See our list of the best tennis strings for recommendations.

Diadem Nova Review: A Powerful, But Well-Balanced Racquet

The Diadem Nova tennis racquets were designed to help a player generate easy power. After playing with all three versions of the Nova racquet, that is exactly what they do.

Diadem Nova Tennis Racquet

The Nova racquets can help create depth on your groundstrokes from the baseline. All three models were easy to swing and felt very comfortable on contact.

But the best part of the Nova racquets was the surprising control and feel. For such a powerful racquet, I felt very in control of my groundstrokes.

I personally preferred the Nova + because I like a heavier racquet. The extended reach also helped me add power to my serve which was a great bonus.

The area that the Nova was lacking is on returns and volleys. Any shots slightly off the sweet spot threw the stability off and did not land in the court. However, I played a fast paced match against NTRP 4.5 & 5.0 players. For beginner to intermediate players, this won’t be an issue.

Diadem Nova Specifications

Here are the specs for the Diadem Nova tennis racquet.

  • Weight: 10.5 oz. unstrung
  • Head Size: 100 square inches
  • Length: 27 inches
  • Balance: 320 mm
  • String Pattern: 16 x 19

The Nova Lite is 10.0 oz. unstrung with a balance of 325 mm.

The Nova + is 10.8 oz. unstrung with a balance of 335mm and is 27.5 inches in length.

Is the Diadem Nova Tennis Racquet Right for You?

For beginners who are serious about tennis and want to improve their skills, the Nova Lite and Nova are both excellent beginner tennis racquets .

Intermediate and advanced singles players who like to rally from the baseline and want easy access to power will like the Nova or Nova +. They will help you generate a great combination of pace, spin, and depth.

Hitting with the Diadem Nova tennis racquet

If you’re an NTRP 4.5+ level player or play mostly doubles and like to serve and volley, then I’d recommend the Elevate tennis racquet instead.

Diadem Elevate Review: An Excellent Racquet for Control & Feel

The Elevate series was my personal favorite of the two, because I play a fast paced game and do like to approach the net.

Diadem Elevate Tennis Racquet

Both Elevate tennis racquets are made to help you move the ball around the court with precision and spin. Their 98 square inch frames make them intermediate to advanced tennis racquets .

I particularly liked the Elevate racquets on returns and volleys. I was able to step in on returns and still control the ball even against big serves. The feel I had on my volleys was as good as any tennis racquet I’ve ever played with. I was able to easily hit touch, drop volleys and deep directional volleys.

The drawback of this excellent control and feel is in its power. I preferred the Elevate Tour because the added weight helped increase stability and power on my serve. However, it was not as easy to hit with depth from the baseline on my groundstrokes as the Nova racquets.

Diadem Elevate Specifications

Here are the specs for the Diadem Elevate 98 tennis racquet.

  • Weight: 10.8 oz. unstrung
  • Head Size: 98 square inches
  • String Pattern: 16 x 20

The Elevate Tour is 11.1 oz. unstrung with a balance of 315mm.

Is the Diadem Elevate Tennis Racquet Right for You?

Advanced players who want a players’ racquet will get the most out of the Diadem Elevate racquets. If you have no trouble generating your own power and need a better control racquet, the Elevate is a great choice.

Hitting a forehand with Diadem Elevate tennis racquet

The Elevate 98 offers great control and spin, and is very easy to swing. As far as advanced, or even intermediate tennis racquets built for control, the Elevate 98 is one of the best.

The Elevate Tour is perfect for high-performance players who want a slightly heavier racquet. This racquet adds a bit more power to your shots and extra stability for a fast-paced game. This was my favorite of the five Diadem racquets.

I would not be surprised to see some professional tennis players begin to use the Elevate Tour in the years to come. Diadem tennis racquets should certainly be considered by serious players at any level of the game.

4.0 50 year old here with delusions of getting to 4.5. I currently play with a Head Radical 98 Microgel ($100 baby) and I try to hit with longer strokes. I recently tried to switch to new V8 Blade 98 because it felt great at first but over the course of a month or so I felt like it encouraged me to shorten my swings and swing faster (not necessarily bad but it isn’t where I want to go). Anyway I’m intrigued by your $100 off on the Nova and wondering how you think it compares to Head Radical (I’ve sold the Blade 🤣). Thank you for your content!

Hi Bob, the Diadem Nova is going to offer a bit more power and spin than the Head Radical. Depending on which version of the head Radical you have, the Nova may be easier to maneuver as well. I’ll email you with the details 🙂

I find it intriguing that you review the complete line of Diadem rackets with no mention of string used or tension. Even stranger is the fact that in no Diadem racket specifications is the recommended tension given.

July 20, 2022 at 3:39 pm

Hi Kenneth, good points and thanks for the suggestion. I’ve added a few sentences on strings with a link to our list of best strings and buyer’s guide.

When I tested the diadem racquets they all had Diadem strings. Either Solstice power or Elite XT.

Hi Will. I think you may have left out one of the really fabulous features of the Elevate–it is one of the arm friendliest racquets out there. The combination of dampening and foam filling just absorb shock like nothing else I have used. I loaned my gut strung Elevate to a friend who liked that so much that he wouldn’t give it back until he received one from Diadem and asked me to string it with gut mains and cross. He hasn’t used his other racquet since.

I find that in addition to the arm friendliness, it has really great control, decent spin, and doesn’t leave me sore the next day. I’m at really high altitude so I really value control and don’t need the power as much.

July 31, 2022 at 3:58 pm

Great points Greg! Thanks for the contribution 🙂

I’m in Texas but imagine the Elevate racquet is a great fit for high altitudes.

Diadem FS Racquets Review – Elevate Tour and Nova 100

diadem elevate tour 98 review

I have been testing the new Diadem FS Racquets – Elevate Tour and Nova 100. The racquets are updated with a Flex Stabilization System.

I reviewed the previous version of the Diadem Elevate and Elevate Tour and liked them a lot, but this is the first time I tried the Nova. The Elevate is the “Blade” or “Pure Strike” of the Diadem racquet line, while the Nova is the “Pure Drive” or “Instinct”. You might think it sounds like clones of other popular racquet lines, but Diadem have really created some high-quality racquets.

Diadem FS Racquets – Tech

diadem elevate tour 98 review

Diadem FS Nova 100

diadem elevate tour 98 review

I am pretty sure I got one with a lower spec as a 304 SW seems very low. This type of racquet should have a swing weight of around 315-320 to play stable and with good power so I think this might have been a problem with quality control. Most manufacturers suffer from this issue and it is a problem for most consumers. The racquet was still enjoyable and playable with the low swing weight, but when I added 4 grams of lead tape to it and bumped up the swing weight to 320 – it played much better.

Diadem FS Nova 100 – How does it play?

diadem elevate tour 98 review

The power level is a bit lower than most racquets in this category, but only slightly so. And in my opinion, this is a good thing, as it becomes easier to control. I also really appreciated how nimble this racquet was at the net. Just an overall performer that I could easily recommend to beginners and intermediate players. Some players might want a bit more heft and control though and that is where the Elevate comes in.

Diadem FS Elevate Tour – Specs

diadem elevate tour 98 review

As you can see the specs of the Elevate Tour are more control-oriented and demanding. I strung up my Elevate Tour with Diadem Elite XT @51 lbs and got the following strung specs: 338g, 31.5 cm and a 330 SW.  Specs that will look very appealing to a lot of advanced players. But how does this racquet play?

How does it play?

diadem elevate tour 98 review

Foam-filled racquets are usually very solid and comfortable and it is the same thing with the Elevate Tour. But not everyone likes that feel as it can be perceived as a bit more sluggish/slower through the air. If you are an advanced player though, this should not be an issue.

Like with the previous version , I really enjoyed the Elevate Tour. Not sure I detected much of a difference from the FS tech, but the racquet remains a very solid and playable frame for players who like heft and control. It did not offer any standout features as the Pure Strike Tour did with its dangerous power level, but it does most things well and offers better comfort and feel.

Diadem Sports is definitely a brand to keep your eyes on if you are looking for a new racquet. I enjoyed both the Diadem FS Nova and the Diadem FS Elevate Tour and I do like that there only two series of racquets to choose from. Simplicity wins for many customers. It also shows that there is room for new brands also on the competitive tennis gear market if you create quality products with a strong customer focus.

Have you tried Diadem racquets?

I am interested in your comments that adding 4g of lead-tape changed the SW from 305 to 320. What frame location was the lead? When you consider that a typical vibration absorber weighs 5g, do you know what is the difference in SW using an absorber in the usual bottom of strings position? Thanks.

The nova and elevate have a very nice looking paint job. I am happy the company is doing well. I am really interested in the Nova as well due to the softer feel mentioned in the review. I also really enjoy the 16×20 stringbed. It could be cool to have a Nova with that pattern as well in the tweener style. Those types of rackets suit my abilities better, but a more controlled hybrid could be interesting.

Sounds like an interesting racquet, Diadem Nova 100. I recently tried the new Pure Strike 100 and really liked it. Would like just a bit of power still…..

How would you compare the Nova 100 and the Pure Strike 100 (3rd generation) ?

The Nova is more comfortable, controlled and offer less dampening so better feel. The Pure Strike gives you raw power and a bit better stability.

How does the FS Nova 100 compare to the new Graphene Speed 360+ MP? Excellent article/review, as always!

They play pretty close. The Nova will be slightly less stable, but easier to swing.

I read a few times that foam filled racquets can feel sluggish. Since the Nova 100 has a swing weight under 320, one would assume that despite it having foam in the frame, that it still swings just as easy as a racquet without foam……”?

Or is there something I don’t understand ?

Yes, this one swings pretty fast, but when it comes to the Elevate Tour – they do feel a bit more sluggish compared to some racquets with similar swing weight but without the foam-filling. At least to me. Cheers / J

And the 305 g version of elevate? What do you think of her?

A very nice frame, probably prefer that from the Tour as it is a bit easier to use and gives more room for customization. Similar to HEAD Radicals for sure.

I just bought the Diadem Nova FS 100 and played a few times with it. It feels really, really good. What a nice racquet. It is definitely powerful but definitely has more control than the “Pure Drives” and other tweeters with thicker frames. Sure, it is not as powerful but I really enjoyed playing with it. The thinner frame definitely gives it a better feeling. As Jonas experienced, my racquet had a bit lower SW (278 unstrung) but with a few grams of lead tape it feels great. it also feels really comfortable. I have it strung with Diadem Solstice Power at 24 kg. This is exactly the type of racquet I have been looking for: Powerful but still with decent control that allows for full swings without holding back for fear of ball flying long. Well done Diadem:)

I was fortunate to be one of the first in Europe to try the new Elevate FS 98 (not Tour) as well as the Nova FS 100 reviewed above – here are a few observations. The FS technology and foam fill made both of them comfortable. The Nova is powerful and has a large sweet spot, making it easy to rally with, but I could not control my serve with it. It was strung with Diadem Flash, a soft round poly – possibly with a more spinny string I would have more success there. Strung up and with overgrip it weighed 320g. It did feel a bit more hefty than its ~310 swingweight.

The Elevate FS 98 is a fine control frame, which is more my style. With a 98 sq in head, thin flat beam, 16×20 pattern and low flex it is a competitor to the Pro Staff 97 & Blade 98, Vcore Pro 97 and perhaps the Pure Strike 98 and some Phantoms. Control was indeed good and it did not hurt my sensitive arm, while sufficient power was available. Strung up (with Solstice Power and Evolution) and with overgrip it weighed 322g. With a swingweight of ~315 it is more maneuverable than the Blade 98 and PS, which makes it preferable for me. It can be played in stock form or used as a platform for customization. Given circumstances, I have not tried many new frames recently, only the Speed MP and Ezone 98. I would choose the Elevate FS 98 over either of those.

In the Netherlands one can get testers now from mijnracket.nl, which is the distributor for the Benelux, though given that there is no other Diadem distributor for Northern Europe shown on the Diadem web site, they also have customers in, for example, Germany. Apparently the Elevate FS 98 will be available for sale in a few weeks while the Nova FS 100 is in stock now. [I have no commercial relationship with Diadem or mijnracket.nl other than as a customer]

Hey Jonas! How would you compare the FS Nova to the Gravity MP?

Hi Kevin, The Nova is more powerful and spin-friendly, the Gravity a bit more controlled.

Hey Jonas – I’ve just hit with the Diadem Elevate Tour and love the feel, but not 100% convinced on the weight in the long run. If I buy and mod the regular Elevate do you think they will come to a similar feel (with flexibility to reduce weight in the long run if required)?

@Johnson. I bought my Elevate Tour from mijnracket.nl as well. Fantastic retailer if you’re in Europe. Great customer service too – they even offered to string it for me and threw in a free set of Diadem string.

I have now hit with the Nova + and the Nova, I have strung with both the Solinco Tour Bite hybrid and a hybrid of the Diadem Solstice and Diadem Elevate both at 52 lbs. When combined with the Diadem strings I found a noticeable amount of more spin. I will be adding some lead tape on the Nova for sure but overall tremendous racquets and string combination that will stay in my bag for a long time. Highly recommend

Yes, it’s a nice stick!

I am an advanced junior, and I am looking to switch rackets. I like the nova, but you said it is for beginners and intermediates… Is it also good for advanced players?

It can be played as an advanced player, but you might need to customize it. I think the Elevate is probably a bit more suitable for advanced players.

TN..Thank you for all of your great reviews. I’m learning a great deal about specs through your reviews. Trying to replace a great racket that has worked for me…Prince Beast 100 O3. Any racket recommendations?…this Diadem Nova looks inviting. Thank You- Jeromy

hi Jonas, i m an Italian player( 3.5 fit…should be about 5 itr) . I’m looking for a similar raquet to my 2015 prince tour 100p, but with a little help on long rallyes. Sometimes I feel the 100p is a bit too much work, during 2 hour matches; not because of the lack of power, but once the legs are burning, i feel like i would prefer a 16×19 scheme to help me with the lounch angle and breath longer…:) That being sayd i’m looking at the nova fs, as well as the cx400 tour, and a vcore100, that i’ve already tested and appreciated due to the huge sweetspot and for the vibration dampening that I due consider pretty important playing with quite lot of spin, and always attacckeing. Thank’s for you help and your passion. Marco

Hey Marco, I’d go for the VCORE 100, it’s a very good racquet. I use the Ezone 100 myself when I get tired. Cheers / J

diadem elevate tour 98 review

longtimelurker

Professional.

Hope it's black. Looks like they got regular, tour and lite!

Would definitely be down for black. Here's hoping they closed those mains up a bit so a flatter stroke doesn't send balls into the fence like it does with the current EFS...

@Trip I have the same experience. During my practices, I switch from the Nova to the Elevate and the first hits I do sail long because of what you're saying.

Yep, unless you're windshield-wiper-ing / brushing aggressively on most strokes with the current Elevates, those balls are going to go long a good portion of the time. Appealing stick, but they need to reign in that string pattern a bit. Just my two cents.

@Trip so far, I've come to a conclusion that the current Elevate, for me, plays way better with string gauges 1.25+ at 24kg. For example, it played great with the Isospeed Rexxxer and now with the Luxilon Alu Power 1.25.

Definitely. I'd go so far as to say it plays best with 1.30+, to help close up some of that space and calm down the bounciness of the string bed, at least for us flatter hitters.

FYI this will come out in January 2023. I emailed Diadem about it a month or so ago. Very sad to see the teal is gone.

@HypnoticLasagna I actually like the blackout colours, but I can't but say that the Elevate looks great on sunsets!

@gold325 - Haven't played the Nova, but looking at enough photos of it strung compared to the EFS/Tour, it wouldn't surprise me.

@gold325 I'd have to play both rackets with the same string (gauge and tension), which I haven't done. I've been playing with both since January 2022. My honest experience is that the Elevate with 1.20 gauge strings at 22kg is too powerful for me and several shots will sail long at the first hits I take when switching from the Nova to it (I always start practicing with the Nova). Now , I'm playing it with 1.25 gauge at 24kg (I do the stringing myself) and I have much better control , less trampoline effect. I've made this comment somewhere else in this forum: the spacing between the 4 central mains on the Nova is smaller than the Elevate. That is a fact. You can zoom into the photos I post on my string review database to see for youself. On the forehand side, I rarely hit with a neutral racket face upon contact with the Elevate. But, for some reason, I can hit aggressive flat one-handed backhands with it. The fact for me is that, from the baseline and mid-court, the faster I swing and the closer the racket face is upon contact the better is the control and the predictability on the shots with the Elevate.

@Aestheticsaboveallelse you bet! Especially when I'm returning low balls on the run, I can find very short angles towards the sidelines and push my hitting partner wide. Recently, I played about an hour or so with the Luxilon Alu Power at 24kg (53lbs) and I got to say it's the most accurate I've been with this racket. Second comes the Isospeed Rexxxer.

Bionic poster.

I had zero issues controling the EFS. The spin is the standout part of the frame. If they tighten it up it will lose a lot of the magic, imo. What made the EFS so awesome to was how many winners I could hit because the spin kicks off the court faster than the opponent can get to it. It was tough for me to sell mine as a result. My negatives were few - the muted feel and the grip shape. I also didn't have any issues keeping the ball in the lines with the EFS - it was pretty easy to keep it safely in the lines and the spin did the rest.

@Power Player I totally agree. I also think it's best performance comes when hitting fast and with closed racket face. I just had issues with 1.20 gauge strings, but 1.25+ play great!

@SFrazeur - I'd be equally happy with that, too!

@SlowTiger I don't have the Tour version. I have the 305gram one, but I've added a few grams at 9 and 3. I've used these at 22kg (-): Komodo Envy 1.25, Kirschbaum Max Power 1.20, Oehms Sonic Speed 1.15, RS Lyon 1.20, Gamma Jet 17 1.22, Isospeed Black Fire 1.20, Stringlab Oribtour Gold 1.24/1.28, YTex Quadro Twist and these at 24kg (strung myself): L-Tec Premium Celeste 1.20, Diadem Pro-X 1.25, Isospeed Rexxxer 1.25 (I think it's 1.24/1.28), Dyreex Pro Player. It played its best with the Isospeed Rexxxer, then the Kirschbaum Max Power (durabilty was my only issue), super stable with the RS Lyon (but nothing stood out). Now, I've played about an hour+ with the Luxilon Alu Power 1.25 and I think it's going to take the Rexxxer's place. The Alu Power plays super accurate! @SFrazeur that would be ideal, but I don't think it's happing at this stage...

I also didn't have any issues keeping the ball in the lines with the EFS - it was pretty easy to keep it safely in the lines and the spin did the rest. Click to expand...

@Peyote Bjornsson there's a "Kraibon" tech feature written on the throat area. "It’s a special type of rubber that helps dampening but also makes it so that you’re not losing any power!" I wait answer about the spacing of the central mains, if tighten them a bit or stayed the same. The new cosmetics have some Pickleball Vice Paddle inspiration.

One thing I will say about Diadem is that the guys are responsive. My kid is sponsored by them and awhile back he was going through a pink phase: overgrip, strings, etc. as long as it was a good muted shade of it. He suggested to his sponsor contact that it would be really cool if they came out with a flamingo pink version of Evolution string (since the kid was using Evolution as a hybrid cross string at the time), and was told they would ponder that. Lo and behold, there is now a pink color option for Evolution, which makes sense for them since they seem to really embrace South Florida colors on products. So I bought a reel of it for Christmas. Haven't actually looked at it yet so no idea what shade of pink it is, but cool nonetheless; he is past the pink phase now, but the string will still see use as he is currently stringing his teammates frames on his college team. They don't pay much and usually don't provide the string, so they get what they get. But my preference is that we mount the reel on the Great Wall of racquets in my home office as a notable tennis item along with his memorable frames and some of my own. There is nothing really collectible up there (except maybe the Rafter private stock Prince Precision Response Ti fame, which is a paintjob as the Ti braiding isn't there like it was on the retail version i played with).

My kid is/was a Diadem-sponsored player; using the Elevate Tour v2. that being said, awhile back, someone handed him a Pure Strike Tour, which he loved more, but it sent him down an extended demo'ing odyssey that ultimately led to him switching to the Babolat Aero VS and he is now with Solinco. Strange world, and that statement has absolutely nothing to do with frame muteness, just about a journey to find what is best for an individual player.

Elevate Lite 98 v3

Elevate Lite 98 v3

The Diadem Elevate 98 Lite v3 is the lightest option in a new era to the flagship series’ most maneuverable and user-friendly frame. This update features a captivating design paired with unique technology to provide a more arm friendly and comfortable feel.

The headliner innovation, Kraibon, manages to increase both the flexibility and stability of the frame without sacrificing power. The ultimate control racket lends supreme feel for the ball on every shot.  The racket still utilizes the FS system from the previous model as well as our high density foam and HMT carbon.

The Elevate rewards aggressive, precise ball-strikers who like to create their own power with a blend of feel, stability, and comfort in a 16x20 string bed pattern . Wow your opponents and teammates with a beautiful metallic blue colorway and satin paint finish.

  2. Has anyone tried a diadem elevate?

Diadem doesn't list the SW but it seems it will be in the 325-330 range based on the specs of the regular Elevate. Actually the Tour version I demoed had a pretty low swingweight of 317 whereas the standard FS98 had a 321 SW (strung with Flash 17). Even after I added 4 grams at 10 and 2 it didn't feel right to me.
