  • UNGlobeTraveler 0 contributions 4.0 of 5 bubbles Great combo tour in Miami This combo tour package is a great value and covers all the area tourist attractions that you want to see and do. We covered many places in 9 hours! First complaint I have is that they asked me to pay tip (for 3 persons in my family) when I checked in at the tour office. But I was asked later to tip at each of the 3 tours as well as the driver (which I had no problem as the guides were all knowledgeable and professional). But why asked to pay again and multiple times if I already paid first before the tour? Double charging? Second, there was the seemly disorganized connection between the buses. Had to ask several times with different people. First bus took us for Miami and Miami Beach city tours then returned to the company office to wait for a second bus to Sawgrass Recreation Area for the Everglades airboat ride and then boat tour of Miami port area from the Bayside Market Place in the end. Some tours were in the reverse order. Third, on the double decker bus, one will need to pay attention to trees, street signs and traffic lights sticking out to the street when you do the city tour. It is a bit dangerous if you stand up and not paying attention while on the top deck. Read more Written May 4, 2024
  • veenk2024 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Open rouf tour bus ride on a highway to Everglades :( We went to an Everglades tour and suppose to be on a coach to a 1 hour plus journey on a highway. We were put on an open roof bus tour bus to the sawgrass recreation park and it was so dangerous and very windy and most people ended up going to the bottom of the bus and stood for the whole 1+ hour journey and some sat on the floor and some sat on the stairwell. It was raining at times too and having wind blown on the highway for that long period of time with a moving bus on a highway was just utterly dangerous. Company said coach had problems hence went on the open deck bus but that wasn’t the real Excuse. Driver was on the phone all the way back too. I have pictures and videos for proof. We followed him everywhere for the fear we will miss the double-decker instead of being told the new location of the bus and the departure time. During the ride, he had short explanations about surroundings, and besides his favorite joke (I am Julio Iglesias) he blessed us with loud music. Read more Written April 16, 2024

The guide appeared to no know the details of the places we were passing by. He talked about the general history of the city in very vague details, things that anyone who has gone to school knows. He made us walk for about three blocks, entering into selected stores and restaurant.... It felt like he was getting a profit from their business. Too much talk about nothing. • janefI3351EN 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Cindy was a delight as our driver and tour guide While visiting South Beach for a 1 week vacation, my friend and I took the day bus trip tour to Key West. The pick up time was to be 7 am but pick up happened by 7:20 am. The driver was Cindy and she was a delight from the moment we boarded the bus. She was welcoming to all, had a lively personality, and was helpful with her suggestions once we arrived in Key West. We stopped once on the way for breakfast. My friend and I chose a restaurant over the near-by Starbucks. Food was good and Cindy ate there as well. A discussion with Cindy was most appreciative as she agreed to spend 3 hours with us in Key West to show us the sights. From southern most point, Rte 1A, Hemingway’s property, lighthouse, open food market, sighting of cruise ship, seeing the most amazing manatee, to a tour of State Park, we had fun! Don’t forget Kermitt’s Key Lime store. Cindy, thank you for being a wonderful tour guide and most importantly, a fantastic bus driver on such a long day trip. • 940tanyae 0 contributions 3.0 of 5 bubbles Three tours should have been two The bus tour was pretty good. It did spend more time in little Havana than necessary. The driver was good. I did not like the transition to the cruise. I’m glad I had read the reviews because I was prepared. The bus drops you off for a 1 hour lunch at the Bayside Marketplace and practically insists that you eat at a specific restaurant because the tour operator for the cruise only will come give you your tickets there. We met him outside that restaurant and got the tickets which I didn’t really think was necessary other than to force you to eat there. The cruise was enjoyable but at full a capacity so seating was limited. The trip to the Everglades was the worst. The bus ride was long it was completely unorganized there wasn’t anything to see (a nose of an alligator). The airboat driver was horrible. A complete waste of time. I would recommend the bus tour and the cruise but beware of the lunch situation. The Everglades was a money grab. Everyone on the tour seemed to agree. Read more Written February 18, 2024

Most Miami double-decker bus tour operators have a few restrictions in place in order to ensure the safety of their passengers. For example, most companies will not allow young children to ride on the top deck due to the risk of injury if they were to fall. In addition, many bus tour operators will not allow pregnant women or passengers with back or neck injuries to ride on the top deck for similar reasons.

Some companies also have weight and height restrictions in place for the top deck, as the seats are often narrower and may not be able to accommodate larger passengers comfortably. 1 day tour to the key west Our tour guide/bus driver was CINDY. She was so GREAT! 10/10! I booked my reservation online at : https://miamidoubledecker.com/ and made my payment at the south beach office/pick up spot(305 Lincoln Rd, Miami Beach, FL 33139) that morning that you are picked up-$40 cash only Cindy picked us up right on time in a double decker bus. She was nice enough to do a mini city tour as we left the city. She had a great attitude the whole way through and made sure we were comfortable before we left (seeing if the air conditioning was ok and if anyone needed translation in Spanish). She gave us a return time after the 6 hour free time at key west, warning us about how expensive it can be to Uber back but not in a threatening manner(I've been on tours where the bus driver was actually going to leave us stranded if we didn't return on the dot). She made sure we were all on the bus before we left. We even got back 30 min early. They offer discounts for the hop on hop off while you're on the bus(cash only)

Cruise + Miami City Bus Tour (AKA) Miami Skyline Cruise of South Beach & Millionaire Homes Sat April 6 SOLD BY VIATOR (TRIP ADVISOR) OWNED BY Attractions4US LLC (Tour Operator) BUYER BEWARE: When you purchase this package, (we paid $159.98 for 2 people) the cruise is at 401 Biscayne Blvd Miami and the Double decker bus is 30 minutes away at 305 Lincoln Rd in South Beach. The bus tour started at 3pm and took multiple detours off the route due to traffic. The tour ended up taking about 3 hours. We had to pay $52 to park the rental car for 4 hours, then we had to take a $35 taxi back to the starting location because they told us we had to exit the bus. Since we (me and most of the guests) refused to tip, the guide called us "cheap" as we exited the bus. The folks who were supposed to go on the cruise, their guide was nowhere to be found so I'm unsure what happened to them. Total cost $247 and an entire day lost.

Run Forest Run!! Total Scam. Probably run by the mob. Avoid at all costs. The reviews here tell the truth. The customer comes LAST! Address: 305 Lincoln Road - Miami Beach Made reservation online. No cost to sign up---"Pay when you arrive" (should have seen this as a red flag). Arrived early as directed but no bus is present (2nd red flag). Asked where to park our car and was given directions which were 100% wrong (3rd red flag). Found parking on our own and parked ($25) and then went to the office where we were told in this order: 1) Cash only! and Do you have cash? 2) You are on our waiting list (it was oversold; 3rd and 4th red flags). My wife asked to use the bathroom and were told "There's a bathroom at the restaurant on the corner." (However, the restaurant was closed and did not open until 10:00AM; 5th red flag). We searched the open stores in the neighborhood for a bathroom to no avail. We even bought coffee at a coffee shop and they too would not let her use a bathroom (really crappy neighborhood; 6th red flag). The tour was about to start so we went back to the office. I asked the young lady "Are we able to go on the tour?" Her response "Do you want to go?" I say yes but my wife has to use the bathroom and cannot get on the 2 hour bus ride without using a bathroom first. Can she please use your bathroom? The young lady says no: 7th red flag. The fact that this young lady is afraid to just turn around and ask here manager if a customer can use the bathroom speaks volumes about this shady company. At this point it was clear that the customers (us) are here to be manipulated by the tour company . My wife agrees that the operation is very shady at best. I told the young lady that she should find a better job and she agrees by nodding. I later get the feeling she is not there by choice. So we didn't go on the tour and we are so glad. Imagine being held captive by these criminals for 5 hours on a hot bus. F$$K NO!!!

Incomprehensible tour guide who insisted on tips Then she tried to take people to a restaurant no one wanted to go to as well as other unnecessary stops She left us standing outside the bus for 10 minutes in the heat while she chatted inside the bus at Bayside Bus Bayside was late returning to the pickup spot leaving many people agitated.

Do not waste your time or money on this tour. It is a fraudulently advertised waste of time. https://miamisightseeingtours.com/ You Will Not visit the four neighborhoods listed on their website or lobby brochure (first pic). In fact I found the Wynwood stop (not advertised) to be completely useless. The little Havana stop was dominated by being paraded through tourist gift and cigar (spend your money here...) shops. They will charge you $39 if you have not visited their website to see the real price of $19. That said the $19 we paid was still no value. I assume the other stops were cut to save on fuel. I understand that fuel is very expensive nowadays, but you cant do this to people. I do not enjoy giving negative reviews but consider this one a public service. Note: We mentioned all this to the staff. and they gave us a complaint form :0

I was looking for something to do while visiting Miami after a cruise. This seemed like a good thing to do for the day. It was tough finding the spot as you are looking for the place to board the bus. It is located near the end of the strip and was noticeable once located. We were told that the bus would be arriving soon. It was a double decker with a top open level. Plenty if sun. The tour guide was great and very knowledgeable. We were told about the area and taken to Little Havana. We were told to be back on the bus within an hour and that we could check out things in the area. It was a nice tour and is recommended.

A 5 hour Miami city and boat tour for $30 isn't a bad deal, but of course there has to be a catch, right? We decided on this tour because we were wasting time between getting off of our cruise and our flight home. April was super nice and accomodating on the phone. She explained that they only take cash and that if you don't have cash, there's an ATM in their office, which has only a $0.99 fee. They will also store tour luggage for $5/piece while you are on the tour. Well, you start on a city tour on a double decker bus where they drive you around to see South Beach and to Little Havanna. The bus ride was maybe 15 minutes max and was bare minimum history before continuing to Little Havanna. Once in Little Havanna, we walked to a cigar store, coffee shop, mojito bar, and clothing store. There's the catch...it's a shopping tour, which is fine and all considering the price of the tour, but there is a fair amount of walking and it isn't really conducive to those who have mobility issues. It really wasn't conducive to those who are healthy either because the tour guide would just leave places to continue to the next without ensuring he had everyone in our group. I feel like I had to round up people to prevent losing anyone. The shopping establishments we were brought to were not equipped to have a group of people all at once inside except for the mojito bar, so you're just crammed in and bump into everything and everyone. The mojitos cost $12.50/ea. They were decent but not exactly worth $12.50 as the rum tasted cheap. When we were able to board the bus again, it was waiting for us in the shade parked in front of a house. Well, the driver thought that through. There was a dog in the front yard of the house and she barked once since there was a crowd of people in front of HER house. The tour guide jumped at her to scare her. That was the point at which I was completely done and disgusted with the tour. When we got to the marina, the guide walked us to a restaurant for lunch prior to getting on the boat. He gave us our tickets and generic directions as to where to go and that was it. We were told where to pickup the bus after our boat. We had to ask marina personnel where to get on the boat because the directions were so poor. We were told go down either of these sides and look for a green umbrella. BTW, once you come down from the 2nd floor, go to the far left and look for the Bayride boat. The boat tour was just of the Port of Miami to look at mansions. Not really my thing but it was part of the tour so whatever. There was this one mansion that actually had a 10'x15' banner that read "This was never Shakira's house." That was probably the best part of the tour! To catch the bus back to where you started, you have to watch for the double decker bus, which is bright red and not to be confused with the other double decker bus company, and go to it because it just stops where it can find a spot. When our return bus arrived, people unloaded and we had to wait another 5 minutes while our tour guide and another employee counted cash. This couldn't have been done at another time?? The ladies in the office are nice and explain everything but the tour guide was worthless and it was quite clear he didn't care about people because he never once made sure he had everyone before continuing on and him lunging at the dog was absolutely disgusting. If you want to waste time, take this tour but don't expect much.

Beware - this whole establishment seems to be a scam to avoid state tax due to the state of Florida. Here is what happened when I booked Everglades tour: 1) I booked the tour on https://miamitours.com. Instead of taking me to the credit card portal they say pay upon arrival (see screenshot). 2) Then I get a strange email that says I need to pay by Venmo. I call their office and mention the conflicting emails and they say it is OK to pay upon arrival, but it has to be CASH. I go to ATM and keep the cash ready. 3) Upon arrival they say I don't have a reservation since I did not pay by Venmo. The whole thing looks shady. You can see the invoice does not have sales tax listed. I am shocked that this goes on unchecked in Florida and the government does nothing about it. I have never seen any web-based booking company not collecting cc payments or check payments.

50 walk away from burning double-decker bus on I-595 in Davie

By Mauricio Maldonado , Nikiya Carrero

Updated on: April 26, 2024 / 11:15 PM EDT / CBS Miami

MIAMI - About 50 people are lucky to be alive Friday afternoon after the double-decker bus they were in caught fire, shutting down the westbound lanes of I-595 in Davie.

It happened before 3 p.m. near Nob Hill Road.

CBS News Miami's Nikiya Carrero interviewed two of the tourists who say they were headed to the Everglades, but they never made it.

Edward McElduff, visiting from the UK, said "It was one of the most terrifying experiences of my life. I started thinking about my fiancé and my wedding that I got coming up. Sort of started accepting defeat."    McElduff, along with his colleagues, decided to take a break from the World Finance Forum and take a trip to see alligators when the unimaginable happened.

Lewis Chandler, also visiting from the UK, said "It's just one of those things that would never happen or ever happen to you and then all of sudden you find yourself running off a bus on the freeway."

The group got on the bus at 305 Lincoln Road on South Beach where Miami Tours is located.

About 40 minutes into the drive, they noticed smoke.

"Then, about 10 minutes later, we noticed we were being pulled over on the freeway. And it was at that moment we noticed something more serious was going on."

The group said the driver did not give them any instructions, so they took matters into their own hands.

Calmly, exiting one by one, but the door on the bus was against the guard on the shoulder.

"We had been pulled over so far that you had to climb over the shoulder to get out of the door," said Chandler.

Both men said they were two unsung heroes who assisted the entire group.

No injuries were reported.

Images from Chopper 4 showed a charred skeleton of a chartered bus on the emergency lane of an empty highway.

It is not clear what may have started the fire.

The bus was eventually towed away from the scene, as lanes started to reopen.

Traffic was affected for miles.

WEATHER ALERT

A rip current statement in effect for Coastal Broward and Coastal Miami Dade Regions

Double-decker tour bus driver hailed as hero after fire: ‘the doors, thank god, opened’.

Sanela Sabovic , Reporter

DAVIE, Fla. – The driver of the double-decker tour bus that erupted in flames on Interstate 595 on Friday in Davie was credited with saving his passengers.

Derek Ryan Sanberg, of Miami Tours, said another driver told him about the fire and he stopped about 2:30 p.m., along the westbound lanes of I-595.

“Two minutes, you got two minutes,” Sanberg said about the time he had to get everybody out.

On the day of the fire, Fillippo Muzifalconi, a tourist visiting South Florida from Italy, said he was grateful for Sanberg who acted quickly.

“The driver immediately opened the door and we ran out,” Muzifalconi said. “The driver, I think he was a hero. He got out of the bus as the last person, waiting for everyone.”

Sanberg, 54, said he did what any other driver would have done. He said he also saw the smoke, so he pulled over and stopped the bus.

“Everything shutdown: Engine, breaks popped, shut down,” Sandberg said. “The doors, thank God, opened, so I opened up — ‘Everybody out!’ I just started screaming, ‘Every body out!’”

A Fort Lauderdale police officer helped ensure everyone had evacuated the bus. The fire destroyed the bus near Nob Hill Road.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol and Davie Fire Rescue, there was a mechanical issue and the fire started in the engine at the back of the bus.

Tour bus goes up in flames on I-595, causes major traffic delays

The fire broke out of the bus in the westbound lanes of the highway between nob hill road and pine island road, by brian hamacher and jamie guirola • published april 26, 2024 • updated on april 27, 2024 at 10:51 am.

A fire that completely destroyed a tour bus led to major traffic delays and the temporary closure of a portion of Interstate 595 in Broward County Friday afternoon.

The fire broke out of the bus in the westbound lanes of the highway between Nob Hill Road and Pine Island Road.

Cellphone video from witnesses showed the moments after the fire broke out, with the bus completely engulfed in flames and thick black smoke rising into the air.

“It looked like a bomb went off, there was so much smoke," said Matthew Tremellen, who lives nearby. He said beforehand, he heard a loud bang and his whole house shook.

Florida Highway Patrol officials said there were around 50 passengers on board but all evacuated and there were no injuries.

Aerial footage from Chopper 6 showed all westbound lanes closed as Davie Fire Rescue crews doused the bus with water. Some of the lanes later reopened but not before the closure caused major delays.

The double-decker bus appeared to have been completely destroyed by the fire. The passengers could be seen standing on the side of the highway nearby.

The cause of the fire was unknown. FHP officials said they were arranging to have a Broward County bus assist with transporting the passengers.

  • Tour bus with 48 on board catches fire on I-595 in Davie, causing hours-long WB closure; no injuries reported

DAVIE, FLA. (WSVN) - Crews have extinguished a fire that erupted on a tour bus which led to the hours-long closure of the westbound lanes of Interstate 595 near Nob Hill Road.

Davie Fire Rescue units responded to the bus fire just before 3 p.m. on Friday.

7Skyforce captured firefighters as they tackled the flames that ate through what it could of the bus, leaving only a skeleton of it left over.

Crews were able to knock down the blaze on the double decker bus that had 48 people on board at the time it ignited.

The tourists on the bus ran out of the vehicle to avoid getting burned. They were later picked up.

As the tourists stood on the side of the road for hours, first responders handed them water bottles to keep them hydrated.

No injuries have been reported.

Video shared with 7News by viewers shows black smoke and flames from the bus fire.

Neighbors told 7News that it was a scary sight for them to see.

“We heard it. It shook the house,” said one neighbor. “I could hear something blew up on the highway.”

“Thank God, thank God,” said Joi Patterson, a nearby neighbor when she learned there were no injuries.

Patterson said she heard the commotion on the highway.

“We were in the house and playing with the kids, and all of a sudden, we heard an explosion. It sounded like a big boom,” said Patterson.

“It was really scary. All I could think about is, ‘Oh, my God, I don’t know who was on there, I hope it was empty, I hope they got off if there were people on there,'” said Renee Thomas.

Thomas and other neighbors, like Patterson, said they heard multiple popping noises.

“We suspect, one of my neighbors suspected, that it could be the tires,” said Thomas. I can only imagine how terrifying it might have been for the people that were on there.”

“I saw flames up above the wall, I was like, ‘Holy crap,’ and the smoke, the smoke was horrid. It’s, like, didn’t know what was going on for awhile,” said Patterson.

The westbound lanes were back open to traffic by 4:45 p.m.

But during the hours-long closure, traffic stretched all the way back to Interstate 95.

“I think it’s crazy. We had tons of people directed down this road because you couldn’t get through [State Road] 84 and everything,” said Patterson.

The bus was hooked up to a tow truck and towed away.

It remains unclear what started the fire.
