People can now register their interest in attending and participating Corporate Hospitality and so much more, in the DP World Tour Championship to be held on Earth course, Jumeirah Golf Estates, Dubai, Thursday 17th – Sunday 20th November, 2022.

It is the season ending event on the 2022 DP World Tour and boasts a purse of $10 million in addition to a total of 12,000 DP World Tour Ranking Points available.

The 2021 champion was Collin Morikawa (US). He shot rounds of 68, 68, 69 and 66 for a four round score of 271, 17 under par to win by three shots from 2022 US Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick (Eng) and Alexander Bjork (Swe).

Can’t sign in after app update. again..

Seems to be a regular issue when the app updates. Can’t sign in via any of the options provided (either receive an error message or just get returned to the sign in screen). The utility of the app is significantly reduced when unable to favorite players. Good app when it works, but it breaks once or twice a year when they push an update.

It seems like a number of people are complaining about the same things… The app takes too long to open, and you can’t click on favorite players without it opening on your profile, and even when it opens a profile it won’t let you take a favorite player that’s already there out of the favorites queue.

Slow to open

Very inconsistent when you launch on iPhone. Hangs on the sponsorship page an inordinate amount of time. Some times it doesn’t go past the launch page so you play the game of shut down and relaunch a number of times.

Free general admission tickets released for DP World Tour Championship

The season-ending tournament will take place november 17-20 at jumeirah golf estates’ earth course.

Free general admission tickets for the DP World Tour Championship were released on Tuesday, giving golf fans the opportunity to guarantee their places at the season-ending tournament.

Taking place November 17-20 at Jumeirah Golf Estates’ Earth course, the 14th edition of the championship will once again welcome the top 50 players on the DP World Tour Rankings. Among golf's leading players expected to compete include former champions and major winners Matthew Fitzpatrick, Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa, and Jon Rahm.

This year’s tournament will also boast a record $10 million prize fund, making the season finale the first DP World Tour event in history outside the majors and WGCs to feature an eight-figure prize fund. It is also one of five elevated Rolex Series events.

In addition to crowning a tournament champion, the DP World Tour Championship decides the Race to Dubai winner, awarded to the player who tops the season-long DP World Tour rankings.

American Morikawa is the defending DPWTC champion and reigning Race to Dubai winner but is only 16th in this season's race, which is led by three-time winner McIlroy.

Following the success of last year's Ladies Day, which featured free drinks, ladies golf clinics and a best dressed competition, it will make a return later this year, while the tournament will also host a dedicated family day for the first time.

As well as free general admission tickets , the DP World Tour Championship also offers premium experiences. Both the Championship Chalet and Earth Lounge will provide unique vantage points of the action, and food and drink packages throughout the day.

Fans can currently take advantage of the early bird discounts, with prices starting at Dh499 for the Earth Lounge and Dh2000 for the Championship Chalet.

“Since the first DP World Tour Championship in 2009, spectators have been a key part in making the tournament one of the best events on the schedule, thanks to their love for the game and enthusiasm out on course.

DP World Tour announces global 2023 schedule

The DP World Tour today announced its full 12-month schedule for the 2023 season, featuring a minimum of 39 tournaments in 26 countries, once again emphasizing its position as golf’s global Tour.

• Record overall prize fund of $144.2 million for regular DP World Tour events next season
• Increase in Rolex Series prize funds
• Player Earnings Assurance Programme to be introduced

DP World Tour members will compete for an overall prize fund of $144.2 million across the tournaments outside the Major Championships and WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play including an increased bonus pool of $6 million for the leading eight players on the DP World Tour Rankings in Partnership with Rolex.

As part of this record total prize fund, the 2023 season will also see the introduction of a new Earnings Assurance Programme for DP World Tour members.

Exempt players in categories 1-17 will be guaranteed minimum earnings of $150,000 if they compete in 15 or more events as part of the programme which was agreed by the DP World Tour’s Tournament Committee last week.

Both the record prize fund, increased bonus pool and Earnings Assurance Programme have been made possible by the DP World Tour’s operational joint venture partnership with the PGA TOUR which was announced in June.

Keith Pelley, the DP World Tour’s Chief Executive, said: “For us to be able to offer our members record prize funds and enhanced earning opportunities is massive, particularly when global economies are still feeling the effects of the pandemic and with the new challenge of rising inflation significantly putting pressure on costs in all facets of our business.

“Our overall prize fund for the 2023 season represents $50 million more than 2021 and also underlines the strength of our partnership with the PGA TOUR, who are working with us to drive revenue and a long-term growth plan.

“One of the many benefits we have been able to introduce because of this partnership is the new Earnings Assurance Programme, similar to what they already have on the PGA TOUR. I have always believed that it is an incredible accomplishment for any professional golfer to simply gain their playing rights on the DP World Tour and this new initiative recognizes and rewards that achievement.

“Although we will never lose the magic of the meritocracy and purity of a performance-based structure, this now offers certainty of income to those players who have made it to the pinnacle of the professional game in Europe.

“Alongside the John Jacobs Bursary for the top five players who graduate to the DP World Tour from the Challenge Tour, it will provide security and a strong platform for emerging players in particular as they come through the global pathways we have created.”

Included in the DP World Tour’s record prize fund of $144.2 million is an increase in the tournament prize funds for the first four Rolex Series events of 2023. The Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, Dubai Desert Classic, Genesis Scottish Open and BMW PGA Championship all move from $8 million in 2022 to $9 million next year, ahead of the $10 million season-ending DP World Tour Championship.

The DP World Tour’s global schedule begins on November 24, 2022, with a double header – the Fortinet Australian PGA Championship in Brisbane and the Joburg Open in South Africa. The former is one of two tournaments in Australia on the DP World Tour schedule as part of the Strategic Alliance with the ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia, while the latter is one of six events co-sanctioned with the Sunshine Tour, also as part of a strategic alliance.

Four new tournaments in Asia are also included on the 2023 schedule, with the Singapore Classic (February 9-12) and Thailand Classic (February 16-19) taking place in consecutive weeks, followed by the Tour’s first trip to Japan for the ISPS HANDA - CHAMPIONSHIP (April 20-23) and a return to Korea for the first time since 2013 (April 27-30).

In Europe, there are dates changes for several tournaments, including the Horizon Irish Open moving to September 7-10, while the Italian Open will take place from May 4-7 ahead of venue Marco Simone Golf & Country Club hosting the 2023 Ryder Cup from September 29 – October 1.

There is also a new three-week summer break in the schedule following the 151st Open Championship and Barracuda Championship (both July 20-23) which has been introduced following player feedback. Further details about the autumn events will be announced in due course.

DP World Tour report record ticket sales across biggest summer events

The BMW PGA Championship, the Genesis Scottish Open, the Horizon Irish Open and the Betfred British Masters all experienced huge ticket sales increases.

The DP World Tour has enjoyed record ticket sales across its key summer events in 2022, as demand has significantly grown for some of golf's most prestigious titles.

Across the BMW PGA Championship, the Genesis Scottish Open, the Horizon Irish Open and the Betfred British Masters, there were 20 sold-out days for general admission tickets and hospitality.

The flagship event at Wentworth, which was won by Shane Lowry , saw a 30% increase in ticket sales compared to 2021. Three of the four competition days were sold out in an event that was cut short due to the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

14 of the top 15 players in the world played at the Genesis Scottish Open. The event also saw a 12% increase in ticket sales compared to pre-Covid sales in 2019.

July's Horizon Irish Open saw a 40% increase in ticket sales compared to 2019. For the first time in the event's history, weekend tickets were sold out.

The final day of the Betfred British Masters sold out and there was a 4% increase in ticket sales from 2019. Thorbjorn Olesen won for the sixth time in his DP World Tour career at The Belfry.

Attendance figures for all four of these tournaments came to 271,000. The ticketing success led to a 32% increase in ticketing and hospitality revenue compared to 2019.

These tournaments also enjoyed a larger engagement with golf fans on social media. Their dedicated tournament channels saw a 66% growth in follower numbers since 2019.

The DP World Tour fanbase has also increased in diversity too. Compared to 2019, there has been a 39% increase in the number of female ticket purchasers.

"Golf has enjoyed a significant boom in popularity since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic with its outdoor nature allowing an earlier return to action than most sports - helping to attract new fans to the game," said Keith Pelley, the CEO of the Tour.

"The DP World Tour has worked hard to make sure that we utilise this momentum and find innovative ways to attract new fans to our tournaments.

"We have enjoyed a record summer of golf, with big name players competing for record prize funds and spectators have turned out in record numbers to watch.

"The DP World Tour has never been in such a strong position, and we expect this momentum to continue into the final few months of the 2022 season with November’s DP World Tour Championship in Dubai already enjoying record registrations to attend."

Dp world tour posts record summer ticket sales.

The DP World Tour has enjoyed record ticket sales across its key summer events in 2022, as fans have flocked to watch the world’s best compete for some of the oldest and most prestigious titles in golf.

As part of Tour Consumer Experiences – the joint venture established by Two Circles, the European Tour group and Ryder Cup Europe in May 2021 – Two Circles drives ticket and premium growth through data-driven sales and marketing.

Across four of the Tour’s most historic tournaments – Rolex Series events the BMW PGA Championship and the Genesis Scottish Open, in addition to the Betfred British Masters hosted by Danny Willett and the Horizon Irish Open – the DP World Tour has enjoyed a record 20 sold out days for general admission tickets and premium hospitality, posting a total attendance of 271,000.

Key tournament highlights include:

• The 2022 BMW PGA Championship saw a 30% increase in ticket sales compared to the previous year, with three of the four competition days fully sold out in a tournament that was cut to 54-holes following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
• The 2022 Genesis Scottish Open saw a 12% increase in ticket sales compared to comparable pre-COVID sales in 2019
• The 2022 Horizon Irish Open saw a 40% increase in ticket sales compared to 2019. Weekend tickets sold out for the first time in the tournament’s history
• The 2022 Betfred British Masters hosted by Danny Willett enjoyed a sold-out final day, with a 4% increase in ticket sales compared to 2019.

Premium hospitality packages enjoyed complete sell-outs across all days at the Genesis Scottish Open, the BMW PGA Championship and the Horizon Irish Open.

This ticketing success has led to a 32% increase in ticketing and hospitality revenue for these four tournaments in 2022 compared to 2019.

Volvo China Open ticket sales launched

Tickets for the 2024 Volvo China Open officially go on sale at 11am today, and spectators can purchase their tickets through Damai and Maoyan Entertainment. Early bird tickets are available at a 40% discount, and the organizing commitee is offering various other package options.

The 29th Volvo China Open will take place at Shenzhen Hidden Grace Golf Club from 2 to 5 of May, and will be the first DP World Tour (formerly the European Tour) event to be held in China for five years. With a total prize fund of US$2.25 million, the event offers the highest total prize fund for a professional golf event in mainland China this year.

The event is organized by the China Golf Association and will see a total of 156 players participating over 72 holes. The field includes nearly 100 DP World Tour professionals plus the top 36 players from the China Tour. 

Champions of the Volvo China Junior Match Play Championship, the China Amateur Open and 12 players winning through from qualifying rounds will also take part. South African’s Zander Lombard, Jordan Smith of Great Britain, German’s Yannik Paul and the tournament’s 2016 champion Li Haotong have all confirmed their participation.

The Volvo China Open is the longest-running international professional golf tournament in mainland China. Chinese players including Cheng Jun, Zhang Lianwei, Wu Ashun, Li Haotong, Zhang Huilin and Zhang Jin have all donned the golden jacket and lifted the prestigious champion’s trophy. Several of those players will return to compete again this year, presenting Chinese golf fans with a rare and remarkable golf feast.

Single day ticket prices for weekdays (Thursday and Friday) will cost RMB 198. Saturday’s tickets will cost RMB 278 while tickets for the final round will be charged at RMB 298. Fans who purchase tickets between 11am on 7 April and 11am on 13 April will enjoy an early bird discount of 40%. There are only 1,200 early bird tickets available and will be sold on a first come, first served basis. They are expected to sell out quickly.

To facilitate attendance for all four days and to include families, the organizing committee has introduced various package deals such as single-person two-day passes, two-person one-day passes, and two-person two-day passes.
