Terrible Communication

10 of us are due to attend a planned trip on the 26th of May. This trip was booked last year and has been in the works for a while now. We’ve had no communication from this company for the past few months and anytime we try to get in contact we receive no response. From all of the other reviews I’ve read it seems they’re ripping people off and taking everyone’s money with no remorse. It’s absolutely shocking considering the amount of money we all paid to go on this trip and all we want now is our money back!

Date of experience : May 05, 2023

DON’T BOOK WITH THESE

Terrible company, don’t even think about booking with them. Sure they just make money off interest from the bank. Similar to other reviews, taken our money then 6 days before told us they’re cancelling. So glad it was cancelled though looking at other reviews! Great idea but obvious the company can’t deal with the demand! Lost out of train fares and other things we’d already paid for. Stay clear guys, you have been warned, they’ve obviously taken reviews off facebook for a reason!

Reply from Football Road Trips

We regret that your experience, during the time the company changed business models was unsatisfactory. We have hundreds of reviews that show who we really are as a business and it is regrettable that we didn't meet our high standards during this time. We had a complete business model shift as bookings dropped significantly with the Brexit debacle amongst other reasons. We have since completed many 5 star rated trips from all over the world and we can assure you that after our turbulent period in mid 2019, we are now back at our best.

Put it in the holder!!

Unreal, just unreal! Ben (Guide) and Chris (Driver) were superb from start to finish, nothing was too much effort! Can’t recommend enough, incredible trip, so many laughs and memories for a lifetime, well worth the hangover ⭐️ #ThisIsLikeSnooker

Brilliant must do!

Spent this weekend on the trip to Brussels, Essen and Eindhoven. We have had a great weekend the hotels have been first class with excellent transport. Watch Borussia Mochangladach v Mainz and PSV Eindhoven V FC Twente, Marc our tour guide has been brilliant I would not hesitate to come on a tour in the future. Plenty of beer and lots of great memories.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. Our parties road trip was due to leave on Friday 12/04/19 only to be told on the Wednesday late afternoon that it was cancelled. As we were coming from Scotland, we had booked train tickets to London for our early Friday departure, so we are out of pocket for £250 in train tickets. Tried calling the office and emailing, no response. Luckily we booked on a credit card, however the train tickets are not covered and we cant get a hold of Football Road Trips to get this money back. Terrible, DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY.

What can I say, amazing trip going to see Dortmund in the yellow wall for a 5 goal thriller. Kai the owner of FRT made sure everyone was looked after and needed for nothing. Everyone had a great time on my stag and I’d definitely recommend if this is something your looking to do. Even brought in a United legend Lee Sharp on the trip to have a chat with and share stories which you don’t get anywhere else.

I am in the same boat as the review 3rd of September 2020. 3 cancelled trips since I booked in August 2018. I have asked for refund on a number of occasions which has yet to materialise even after they said we would get one. FRT are currently in breach of UK Consumer Law ,by now refusing a refund.

Date of experience : November 27, 2020

Hi Alan. We apologise for the severe inconvenience caused. A payment was made to you at the start of the month and a manager will be in contact to explain the matter and make an offer to further compensate you, secondary to the refund.

Unbelievable!!!

Unbelievable!!! From start to finish, everything was amazing! Dortmund easily a life moment, organisation/travel was class and the guide (Craig) was amazing throughout. Really well run and the experience was better than expected! Would 100% book again!!! Thanks all

Toddys 40th

Toddys 40th, a road trip up there with the best lads holiday i've been on, great nights out, great tickets in two of Europe's top clubs. The yellow wall at dortmund was out if this world and psv stadium was just as good. The atmosphere around the grounds was a party one and all the time abroad felt totally safe in our surroundings. The hotels weren't our usual 2/3* standard of a lads wkend away, so was nice to have that feel of luxury. Was So good we've all booked again for the 21/22 season. Could definitely become an annual event. Well organised, great price and awesome locations. Highly recommended. *****

Wow, what a weekend! 👍🏻🍺⚽️

Wow, what a weekend! Once we arrived in London, you didn’t disappoint. Beer was cold, and plentiful. Coach was comfy, and although a long trip, time flew by as all the lads got on with each other. The yellow wall experience at Dortmund will live with me forever. PSV stadium was superb. hotels every night were of a fab standard. And what a game of pool we had in Amsterdam!!! last minute substitute guide Dan was ace, and made us all very welcome. Cheers Footy Road Trips. I might just be getting a group together ready for a return in the nee season!!

Date of experience : March 11, 2020

Well organised, brilliantly executed.

The whole trip was well organised with the itinerary followed to the letter. The Dortmund game was incredible and the Fortuna Sittard game a laugh. Only improvements I could suggest would be to actually have the ps5 advertised (was a ps4) and plan the Dutch leg to allow more time in Amsterdam. Our guides, Craig and Gaz were brilliant throughout.

Great tour from start to finish

Great tour from start to finish . Brilliant experience throughout from booking to the end . Communication was great and met some great people . Our guide Matt was brilliant and made sure we were well informed and looked after throughout our whole stay . Our driver angelo was also a great laugh ! Deffo recommend FRT!

Brilliant weekend!

Fantastic trip would recommend to any football fan. The Dortmund yellow wall experience is out of this world and hotels were all in good locations and high standard. Craig did a great job of being our tour guide and showed us all of the best spots. I really enjoyed it and would definitely go again.

If Carlsberg done Football trips, it still wouldn't come close to this. The quality minibus, comfy and a playstation that saw some epic battles. Then you had the three cities visited, with top quality night life, only to be surpassed by two quality football matches (PSV and Dortmund), the best of which was when we were in Yellow Wall and I found a new love for the home atmosphere. The hotels each night exceed my expectations and were 4*, one even having a cheeky swimming pool and sauna (helped with the hangover). And not to forget the beers supplied on the bus. Quality from start to finish and has resulted us in booking again for next season.

Awesome trip!

Great experience with Football Road Trips, getting to see Dortmund vs Bayern in the yellow wall being the highlight (a 95th minute equaliser made this absolutely epic). All well organised with plenty of stop offs and beers - and having ex-footballers (on our trip we had Lee Martin and Wes Brown) with us on the buses and having beers was class, getting to chat to them about their careers and hear all their stories. Kai and Craig were both great, everything well organised and a great laugh - you can tell they’re experienced with these trips and know what the lads want!

Date of experience : October 08, 2022

Quality trip, booked another trip already

Quality trip, guys organising the tour and on the bus did a great job, we went to a Dortmund and Ajax game decent seats, beers free flowing with FIFA. The hotels were all decent, could not recommend this more to anyone specially for the money. We’ve booked another trip already.

Dortmund v leipzig

Went to Germany for dortmund v Leipzig, atmosphere was incredible. The bus was spacious, comfortable and even had a fridge that was never not full of beer. The guide Nick was incredible throughout the full trip and really helped make the trip as good as it could be for my wee brothers 16th. He was right up for a laugh, a right football man and a top guy👌

Date of experience : March 03, 2023

Epic from start to finish

Epic from start to finish. Lads booked this for my stag, it was class. Mini bus comfy and tunes blasting hardly noticed the travel time between each location and the beer fridge was kept stocked full at all times. Dortmund yellow wall an experience you’ll never forget. Finally shout out to our Guide Ben and Driver Chris both top blokes, Ben sorted everything the lads asked for taxis, food and bar recommendations. By the time we crossed the channel was like he had always been one of the group. Chris took into consideration all toilet stops the lads needed. Got us everywhere promptly and even provided an off the cuff guided tour of London on the way back. Cheers lads

Brilliant experience

Well what can I say being the only girl on the trip I was made too feel welcome from start to finish. Ally our tour guide was exceptional got were we needed to be on time and made sure our group was sat together. We went too see Borussia Dortmund vs FC Union Berlin the Yellow wall experience was out of this world none stop the whole match, the next day we went onto see FC Twente vs SC Cambuur again another great experience. Our last night at Amsterdam again another great experience due too our tour guide Ally knowing we're all the good pubs clubs and restaurants where, even took us all the red lights for the experience. Would like too thank Ally for everything he did too make our trip an experience too remember. Definitely do it again with a few of our friends and would love too have Ally as our tour guide again 😊

Date of experience : April 07, 2023

Major disappointment

Went on a trip last weekend (17th / 20th) and all I can say is it was a complete sham No communication even up to the day before we left, It’s advertised as luxury minibus with on board PlayStations , well they certainly are NOT luxury when full up and there were NO PlayStations on board We paid and we’re promised 2x games of football and we only got to see 1 game and apparently they got us another game but that got cancelled a day before we left for trip (ironic) We have to pay extra at hotels on taxes and taxis getting to hotels (even when we were dropped off at a hotel we were not even booked in at) Constant lies and a very disappointing trip with these people.

College football 2021: Mapping out the ultimate road trip

football road trips owner

The allure of college football goes well beyond the field, and even beyond the rabid fans and electric stadiums. Before all that, there are the road trips, the tailgating and the parties. Visiting the local restaurants and bars in the area of your favorite team or hated rival can be as much fun as the game itself -- or more, depending on the final score.

To that end, our group of intrepid college football reporters have put together a week-by-week guide to the ultimate college football road trip, highlighting the must-see spots for food, drink and revelry -- and some great games -- along the way. (It's a dirty job, but someone's got to do it.)

So pack up your gear, fill up the gas tank and make your plans for a road trip for the ages.

Week 1: UNC at Virginia Tech Blacksburg, Virginia

A trip to Virginia Tech is like a nice mountain getaway, with just a bit of Metallica and a few stiff cocktails to go with it. The best way to maximize your time in Blacksburg is with a three-step prep-enjoy-recovery plan. The prep work begins on the day before the big game. Dinner at The Cellar or Rivermill or, if you're looking for a more gentile atmosphere, the Blacksburg Wine Lab, run by beloved professor John Boyer, will provide necessary nutrition. Then make your way over to Sharkey's on Main Street, where the drinks are cheap and the patio will be rocking. The last stop on Friday should be Top of the Stairs, a New Orleans-style landmark that offers Blacksburg's most iconic beverage: The Rail. Reddit has described it as "Self Hatred with a splash of Sprite." (Note: This is not ideal before a noon kickoff. Consume at your own risk.)

Game day is all about the tailgate, but don't forget to snag a breakfast treat at Carol Lee Donuts before heading to the stadium. It's a welcoming crowd, so prepare to make friends. The scene on Center Street typically is a riotous mix of student tailgates, but more adult-oriented festivities fill the lots adjacent to Lane Stadium, with the spaces surrounding the dorms serving as prime real estate. Bring drinks to share with your new neighbors. The key to all of this is getting into your seats at least 30 minutes before kickoff because you won't want to miss the most iconic stadium entrance in college football as the Hokies take the field to "Enter Sandman'' and the entire stadium shakes as the crowd celebrates. Sundays are a good day to recover, whether with a greasy breakfast at Joe's Diner or a nice tube ride at New River Junction. Take a few trips. They have a free return shuttle. And again, bring a few extra drinks for meeting new friends. -- David Hale

Week 2: Oregon at Ohio State Columbus, Ohio

This itinerary is probably going to be disputed by locals, because there are so many options in Columbus. There really is no wrong answer, and you probably need a few days to digest everything there is to eat there. But my typical routine when I travel to Columbus starts with breakfast at Super Chef's, where they believe breakfast is art. I get the Cinnamon Toast Crunch waffles and add chicken to create a makeshift chicken and waffles. They're cinnamon sugar waffles dusted with Cinnamon Toast Crunch flakes and are fantastic. I then head to Hot Chicken Takeover for lunch and Nashville hot chicken. You can pick your meat and then pick your heat, and I usually go with the hot drumsticks with mac and cheese and coleslaw. You'll probably need to rest after that, but once it's time for dinner, I like to be a tourist sometimes, and there's nothing more touristy than going to The Thurman Cafe to get a Thurmanator hamburger. It's a 12-ounce burger topped with bacon, cheddar and another 12-ounce patty, followed by onions, mushrooms, ham, mozzarella and American cheese and topped off with a pickle. To cap off your day, go to Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams and marvel at the selection of delicious scoops available. -- Tom VanHaaren

Week 3: Alabama at Florida Gainesville, Florida

When in Gainesville for a game, the first stop should always be The Swamp (and we don't mean the actual football stadium). But file that tidbit away for 2022, when the famous Swamp restaurant reopens in a new location. Instead, head over to another University Avenue institution -- The Salty Dog Saloon -- which has been serving drinks and food since 1962. There is no shortage of spots across campus to take in the tailgating scene -- from the O'Dome parking lot all the way to the farthest point on campus, Norman Hall, which is a good 15- to 20-minute walk from the stadium. Line up early for the Gator Walk as the team makes its way into the stadium. And don't forget to make time for a slice and homemade soda (or the beverage of your choice) from Satchel's Pizza, a short drive from campus. Ask to eat in the converted blue VW van. -- Andrea Adelson

Week 4: Miami (Ohio) at Army West Point, New York

It doesn't matter which team Army is playing: Go see a game at Michie Stadium, one of the best venues in American sports. Built in 1924 on the banks of the Lusk Reservoir with views of the Hudson Valley in upstate New York, Michie is unlike any other college football scene. The leaves will be turning, and the campus, filled with gorgeous architecture, is a national historic landmark on an active military installation. Gates open six hours before kickoff, and you'll want time to take in the scene. Parking lots are a bit remote, and shuttle buses start running four and half hours before the game. Three hours before kickoff, if the weather cooperates, there's a full-dress cadet parade and Black Knights Alley opens with live music, food and drink tents and kids activities. You'll want to be in your seat with 20 minutes to spare to see 1,000 cadets take the field and the performance of the national anthem. Then, for one final reminder that you're watching America's Team, a squad of cadets jumps out of a helicopter and parachutes down to the center of the field with the game ball. -- Dave Wilson

Week 5: Auburn at LSU Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Start with a drive through campus and stop off to visit Mike the Tiger at his enclosure. I mean, how often do you get to see a live tiger mascot just feet from a football stadium? It's worth the pit stop. From there, grab some Louisiana style pizza at Fleur de Lis. Oh, you didn't know Louisiana pizza was a thing? It's cheesy and rectangular and glorious. For seafood, it's hard to go wrong, whether it's a po-boy at Parrain's or oysters at Drago's. But don't fill up at breakfast on game day because the tailgating on campus starts early and will sustain you all the way up until kickoff, whether it's savory gumbo, smoked sausage or even alligator. Don't be afraid to wander around and make friends because hospitality in Baton Rouge means feeding everyone under the tent. -- Alex Scarborough

football road trips owner

Week 6: Oklahoma vs. Texas Dallas, Texas

Sure, you're going to watch a bitter rivalry in a major city. But your focus on this trip is strictly Fair Park in South Dallas. Since 1929, the Longhorns and Sooners have met in the middle of the State Fair of Texas, which runs for 24 consecutive days. (As Texans, we're required to remind you that this is the longest run of any fair in the country.) There's also the world's biggest cowboy, Big Tex, there to greet you, and a 212-feet-tall Ferris wheel, the Texas Star, that offers scenic views of the city, including a bird's-eye view into the Cotton Bowl. But the other star of the weekend is the fair food. You're required to eat a Fletcher's Corny Dog, then make your way around to see what sort of ungodly concoctions the mad scientists have in store for you. This year's award finalists have a little something for everyone: deep-fried seafood gumbo balls or the deep-fried I-35 (notice a theme?), which is a Czech pastry called a kolache filled with smoked brisket, topped with a peach/Dr Pepper glaze and garnished with peach slices. For dessert, maybe try some brisket brittle or the deep-fried Halloween, which is a large pretzel topped with candy corn syrup, buttercream icing, caramel and chocolate drizzle and then plenty of Halloween candy. Just the kind of thing to keep your blood sugar up for one of the most heated rivalries in college football in the middle of it all, with the two sides divided right down the 50-yard line. -- Wilson

football road trips owner

Week 7: Cal at Oregon Eugene, Oregon

There are few better places to spend a Saturday in the fall than Oregon's Autzen Stadium. It's a destination that belongs on every college football fan's bucket list and provides a game-day experience that is unique in the Pac-12. Eugene, a city of more than 100,000 people, doesn't have the college town vibe that exists at Washington State and Oregon State, but there is a much more intimate charm than in the major metropolitan areas around the conference. So there are plenty of bars, restaurants and tailgating spots to host a sold-out game, while still generating the game-day buzz around town that gets lost in larger cities. If the sports bar scene is your preference, give Sam's Place Tavern across town a try (there's a game-day shuttle to the stadium) or check out Trev's Sports Bar & Grill just across the Willamette River near campus. If you're looking for a tailgate, it won't be hard to find one. Thousands of people will be posted up around Autzen. Walk around, meet new friends and there's a good chance you'll find yourself taken care of. -- Kyle Bonagura

Week 8 -- Doubleheader!

football road trips owner

Coastal Carolina at Appalachian State (Wed.) Boone, North Carolina

There's a strong case to be made that Boone, North Carolina, is the best college town most college football fans don't know about. It's a mountain town with a terrific beer and food culture and a game-day environment that rivals anything the Group of Five has to offer (and probably is better than a number of the big boys too). For a little pregame food and entertainment, take a stroll down King Street and stop into Macado's or Melanie's, or stop over to Booneshine Brewing Company for the town's best craft beers. Then head over to the tailgate, which devours nearly every open space on campus for a big game. The prime spot is the Library Deck, then ask around and have a local point you to Big C's tailgate on River Street. It's legendary. Get into the stadium in time for kickoff though. The mountain backdrop is gorgeous, and the energy at kickoff is electric. After the game, grab a burger at the Come Back Shack before celebrating an App State win (or drowning your sorrows) at The Annex, where the party will go late into the night. But don't let your visit end on campus. A quick trip down the Blue Ridge Parkway gets you to Blowing Rock, which has a tremendous restaurant scene, including Woodlands Barbecue or The Speckled Trout, which touts an impressive beer and wine list. Then work off some calories with any number of breathtaking hikes. Just be sure to stay hydrated. -- Hale

USC at Notre Dame (Sat.) South Bend, Indiana

You can't go wrong with Rocco's pizza if you want something simple but delicious. They call their offerings comfort food, Italian style, and they're not wrong. If you're craving a burger, try CJ's Pub, where you can get a five-ounce, 10-ounce or 20-ounce burger. The 20-ouncer is called the Golden Domer for obvious reasons. The Evil Czech Brewery is a great option if you're looking for classic American fare or unique beer options. You probably wouldn't expect to get good barbecue in Northwest Indiana, but The Prized Pig is a really good option. For a higher-scale experience, try Tippecanoe Place, which is restaurant in a mansion that was built in the 1800s. -- VanHaaren

football road trips owner

Week 9: Georgia vs. Florida Jacksonville, Florida

There is a reason this series is still known as "The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party." Reason No. 1: The drinking starts early (in many cases, days early), and the drinks flow like the St. Johns River, which runs through Jacksonville. Reason No. 2: There are too many parties to count in the tailgate lots surrounding the stadium. The truth is, you don't even need an actual lot to party. People party on their boats along the river, too. In between the cars and RVs clad in orange and blue or red and black, alumni clubs from both schools hold their own tailgates, and there is live music everywhere you look. In the RV lots, the partying starts three days before kickoff. Though TIAA Bank Field holds about 67,000, most years twice as many people show up to take in the tailgate scene. And really, that is the best advice. Grab a drink, walk among all the lots, make some friends and soak it all in. -- Adelson

Week 10: LSU at Alabama Tuscaloosa, Alabama

Lean into the nostalgia during your visit to Tuscaloosa. Tour the Walk of Champions. Spend some time at the Bryant Museum. Eat breakfast at the historic Waysider Restaurant, where you can order country ham and red-eye gravy with biscuits and sit at Paul "Bear" Bryant's table. You can't miss it. It's the one with Bryant's bust front and center. From there, get some barbecue at either of the town's legendary institutions, Dreamland or Archibald's. I'm not venturing into that fraught debate about which is better -- they're both excellent -- but certainly try to visit their original locations if you can. Finally, grab a famous Yellow Hammer drink at Gallettes and head to Bryant-Denny Stadium for the game. -- Scarborough

football road trips owner

Week 11: Texas A&M at Ole Miss Oxford, Mississippi

If you're a fan of classic Southern literature and run-on sentences, then be sure to get your fill of William Faulkner nostalgia in Oxford. The ghost of Mississippi's most famous writer is everywhere. But if that's not your thing, no worries. The food here is incredible, whether at the famous Ajax Diner, City Grocery or Big Bad Breakfast. The real star of the show is the Saturday tailgate, though. No one -- and I mean no one -- does tailgating like Ole Miss. A walk through the Grove is like stepping back in time. There are men in suits, women in dresses and chandeliers hanging from pop-up tents. At times, it feels as if the scene is overwhelming what should be the main event, which is why you'll often hear a version of, "We may not win every game, but we've never lost a party." -- Scarborough

football road trips owner

Week 12: Iowa State at Oklahoma Norman, Oklahoma

The star of Norman's game-day experience is Campus Corner, a business district that dates to 1917. It's filled with places to shop, eat and drink, including Othello's, which is home to Barry Switzer's famed "table of truth," and the Greek House, a traditional diner opened in 1979 by Greek immigrants and famous for its spicy yogurt sauce. For a little history, visit the Legends Lobby at the Barry Switzer Center at the south side of Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium to see first-hand the dominance of one of the sport's marquee programs. You can see the Sooners' five Heisman trophies and statues of four coaches -- Switzer, Bob Stoops, Bud Wilkinson and Bennie Owen -- with more than 100 wins at OU, the only school in the country with that distinction. And finally, you can see if you're just as much of a gamer as current Sooners coach Lincoln Riley with a trip to Benvenuti's, an upscale Italian restaurant in downtown Norman where Switzer first met Riley when the young Riley was the new offensive coordinator for Stoops. According to Riley, the evening featured a lot of stories and a few too many glasses of Switzer Family Vineyards wine -- despite a 5:30 a.m. practice the next morning, which Riley proudly says he made. -- Wilson

football road trips owner

Week 13: Ohio State at Michigan Ann Arbor, Michigan

If you're planning on coming to a game in Ann Arbor, and love food, I would suggest you come in on Wednesday and eat until Saturday or Sunday. There are so many places and such a variety to choose from that you really can't go wrong. Zingerman's is a staple for fresh, unique sandwiches on housemade bread. Mr. Spots also is popular, serving cheese steaks and wings. If you're in the mood for a burger, Krazy Jim's Blimpy Burger is almost 70 years old and still going strong. There's a local brewery called Jolly Pumpkin that has become well-known and has an eclectic selection of food as well as beer. If you're looking for something a little more upscale for brunch or lunch, Sava's is one of the better choices in the area. The list could go on and on, but to finish it off, if you like Cuban street food, check out Frita Batidos. -- VanHaaren

The ultimate college football road trip: Why a sportswriter quit his job to take it

Rodger Sherman really loved his job.

How couldn’t he? He spent the past seven years as a staff writer at The Ringer writing about college athletics, the NFL and “The Bachelor.” His offerings ranged from entertaining power rankings to enterprise stories about a 5-foot-8 star of March Madness to think pieces asking if the grandiose Deion Sanders experiment would work at Colorado (he predicted it would, for what it’s worth). He had, if you asked any sportswriter — including Sherman — one of the coolest jobs in the industry.

Why did he quit? How could he? The magnetism of the ultimate college football road trip was something he’d always daydreamed about. He used to map out hypothetical road trips from one college football game to another on Google Maps just for fun.

“I was always planning on it sort of as a fantasy in my head,” he said.

A few months ago, Sherman told his colleagues he was quitting to embark on a four-month road trip across America to watch college football the way it should be digested: in person, with the wafting scent of tailgates and spilled beer and a collective belief that on any given day, something absolutely wild might take place. It’s no longer a fantasy or a daydream — it’s a dream he’s living day-to-day, week-to-week, truck stop-to-truck stop, podcast-to-podcast.

Like most college football enthusiasts each fall, Sherman would get the most comfortable seat in the house on Saturday: the couch. From sunup to sundown and beyond, he’d watch college football in his apartment in New York City and get to determine what storyline or event or play would drive his coverage from that weekend. The couch, he’d always tell himself, was not going anywhere.

Maybe, just maybe … he should?

Last December he told his wife, who is getting her doctorate in nursing, about this thirst to experience an entire season on the road, to ingratiate within a culture he either knows a ton about or absolutely zilch. She told him to go for it. So for the first few weeks of the season, Sherman has been binging hours of podcasts, welcoming long phone calls from friends and family members, alternating between his favorite road snacks like Costco turkey jerky and cashew clusters and putting his right foot to the floor of the trusty Toyota Corolla rental he’s been zipping around highways and byways.

So far, he’s driven through 19 states, logged somewhere around 8,200 miles and watched the home teams go 9-1.

And he’s involved followers to point him in which direction to go each week. Utilizing a 21st century social media tool belt , he asks folks to vote on which games he should attend. He’s been splicing together YouTube clips of each week’s experiences and is routinely posting on Twitter/X, Instagram and TikTok. Fan interaction is one of the reasons Sherman wanted to do this in the first place.

“There is really something to how we can use the internet to show people things they can’t see on TV and give them a full experience of what they can’t see on the TV,” he said.

The Week 4 “Road Rodge” schedule tackled a Thursday-Friday-Saturday slate of games that will take him from Coastal Carolina on Thursday to Purdue on Friday and then to Cincinnati for the Bearcats’ Big 12 opener against Oklahoma .

WEEK 4 ROAD RODGE SCHEDULE Teal Turf Thursday Big Drum Friday Cincinnati’s first Big 12 game vs. Oklahoma Saturday pic.twitter.com/LjHzJqkhG5 — Rodger Sherman (@rodger) September 19, 2023

He’s gone from New York to Salt Lake City in two days to see Utah beat Florida , hit Penn State on the way back east, got to storm the field at Duke when the Blue Devils knocked off Clemson and recently experienced the Backyard Brawl when Pitt traveled to West Virginia. He’s eaten bacon-wrapped alligator in Utah and had a Hattie B’s hot chicken sandwich in Nashville. He found out how easily you can get sunburned at altitude in Salt Lake, too.

The week-to-week slate is difficult to predict because not all games have designated kickoff times and some aren’t set until six days out. Thinking of how he might get from BYU ’s Big 12 home opener against Cincinnati on Sept. 29 to Boulder, Colo., the following morning for USC at Colorado for a 10 a.m. local kick is daunting, and frankly, potentially dangerous.

Sherman’s ultimate road trip also provides a glimpse into the shifting existence of college football as a whole. With conference realignment combining schools that have no regionality in common, this experience also proves how the sport is losing the shine that made it so compelling for so long.

“We are moving away from the era of road tripping to see your school play a conference game,” he said. “This sport is changing. The things that make this sport so road trippy are going away because it is more valuable to watch games on your couch. That’s generating the most money for the sport is if we get all the games delivered to us on TV.”

The three games Sherman said he will not allow his followers to vote him out of: the last Big 12 Bedlam rivalry between Oklahoma and Oklahoma State in Stillwater on Nov. 4, the last in-conference rivalry game between Oregon and Oregon State in Eugene on Nov. 24 and the Apple Cup between Washington and Washington State in Seattle on Nov. 25.

Initially, he planned to spend Thanksgiving in Mississippi at the Egg Bowl, but with news of the Pac-12 crumbling, he chose to come out West.

While the reward is easily seen on Sherman’s smiling face in all of his YouTube and TikTok posts, this is no easy physical feat. The biggest limitation so far, he said, is bladder size. He’s already admitted to pushing himself too hard in Week 1 and needs to prioritize rest in trying to get through the rest of the fall. He’s astonished at how quickly a car can go from clean to chaos.

In the meantime, Sherman joked that he’s waiting for a rental car company to make the most obvious sponsorship deal imaginable, but has yet to hear back. He’s keeping his fingers crossed, though. Road trips might get more hairy as the weather turns in a couple of months, but for now, he’s soaking it all in. He’s met fellow college football stadium enthusiasts who are knocking individual stadiums off their own respective bucket lists. Fans have shouted out Rodger at almost every stop, too.

There have been moments already that have left Sherman with feelings of pure validation. On his drive from Durham, N.C., to Louisville, Ky., earlier this month, he abandoned the highway and took the backroads through the Appalachian mountains. After he couldn’t get through another minute of the podcast he was listening to, he flipped over to a local public radio station. It was playing bluegrass.

“I was on winding turns of mountain roads listening to the music that was made there and being played for and by the people of that place,” he said. “Appalachia immediately jumped to the top of my power rankings. The mountains out west are pretty … but they’re intimidating in a way.”

Sherman will get reacquainted with them soon enough. The season is still young, and the road beckons.

Share All sharing options for: New book by Sean MacDonald profiles every NFL stadium

football road trips owner

There's a new book out called The Ultimate Football Road Trip that details author Sean MacDonald's plan and suggestions for visiting every single NFL stadium for a home game. That's a pretty epic undertaking.

For the 2014 season, MacDonald recommends swinging through Atlanta for a Thursday Night Football matchup against the Buccaneers on September 18th. For each city on the list, MacDonald covers tourist attractions--for Atlanta, the World of Coke is overrated, while the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site is a must-see, and I'd agree with both assessments. MacDonald also gives an overview of where fans should stay based on proximity to the stadium and convenience, public transportation, and details about the stadium itself.

MacDonald did not love the Georgia Dome for myriad reasons. One, he didn't like the setup, in that he didn't like being denied access to concessions, etcetera, on the 100 level because his seat was in the 200 level. In general, MacDonald didn't feel that the Dome was particularly fan-friendly.  Of course, all of this will be moot when the Falcons open their new stadium in 2017. It's safe to assume that a fan-friendly experience will be at the top of owner Arthur Blank's list of priorities, but for now, MacDonald has ranked the Georgia Dome 31st out of 32 stadium experiences.

This book is also a useful resource if you want to go see the Falcons on the road, or if you just like going to NFL games. The Falcons play the Bengals in Cincinnati in week two, and if you're heading to that game, you should know that parking meters are only enforced in Cincinnati until 5 p.m., so you may be able to secure free street parking. You should also know that they have a sandwich available called a "Who Dey Melt," which is a grilled cheese sandwich with your choice of filling--beef brisket, pulled pork, chicken, and macaroni and cheese are all available. Despite the availability of that delicacy, MacDonald ranked Paul Brown Stadium 15th of 32 in terms of fan experience.

Atlanta's next road game is against the Vikings , but they're playing at a different venue this season, sharing the University of Minnesota's stadium while construction is completed on their new stadium, so MacDonald didn't have a lot to say about this one. If you do want to go to this game, purchase tickets early, because the capacity of the Gophers' TCF Bank Stadium is considerably less than the Metrodome. MacDonald ranked the Metrodome 21st of 32 for fan experience, but since this game won't be at the Metrodome, it's hard to know what the fan experience will be like this season.

In week five, the Falcons play the Giants in Met Life Stadium. MacDonald says that Giants fans are pretty good natured and that it's a fun stadium experience. Apparently Met Life uses different visual elements, such as lighting the external stadium area with blue lights, to distinguish a Jets game experience from a Giants game experience. MacDonald recommends visiting the Legacy Club on the 100 Concourse level inside the stadium if you care about seeing Giants memorabilia. Even if you don't care that much about seeing Giants memorabilia, the Legacy Club offers free admission. MacDonald ranked the Giants Met Life Stadium experience 27th of 32, which was surprising to me considering how relatively new that stadium is. Sharing a stadium with another team hinders the uniqueness of the experience, I guess.

Atlanta's next road stop is Baltimore. You can visit Babe Ruth's birthplace and the Camden Yards Sports Legends Museum also sounds pretty neat. All in all, MacDonald enjoyed M&T Bank Stadium very much, ranking it fifth on his list for a fan-friendly experience.

Next up for the Falcons is a trip to Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. It's just about a six and a half hour drive for Atlantans, so many fans may plan to go to this one. MacDonald recommends the Tampa Bay Brew Bus, a shuttle bus that takes passengers on a brewery tour/pub crawl experience. Visit their website for full details. You can also plan to visit the first Original Hooters in Clearwater, about 15 miles from the stadium. MacDonald ranked the Raymond James fan experience 24th out of 32 stadiums. One detail MacDonald didn't mention about the Raymond James stadium experience is the cannon. Be aware of that so you don't react like Cam Newton and Steve Mariucci did.

The Falcons have back-to-back divisional road games, heading to Charlotte the following week to take on the Panthers . You can visit Charlotte's NASCAR Hall of Fame and learn all about how stock car racing descended from moonshiners using fast cars to outrun the law as well as enjoy some racing simulators and fun for the whole family. Parking at Bank of America Stadium is not ideal, according to MacDonald, so you may want to make other arrangements. Bank of America Stadium was ranked 11th out of 32 stadiums by MacDonald for "great sight lines and atmosphere."

The next road game for the Falcons is in Green Bay on December 8th. While I have yet to visit Lambeau for a game, I have been there for their shareholders' meeting with my husband, and this is objectively an amazing stadium. The Packers are a franchise with a ton of history, and they have a Hall of Fame right inside the stadium filled with memorabilia from their storied past. If you want to save some money, MacDonald recommends that you book a room in nearby Appleton, Wisconsin. That's where the Packers' opponents usually stay, also, so you might even end up running into some Falcons players. MacDonald ranked Lambeau at the very top of his stadium experience list. It's consistently ranked the best stadium experience in professional sports, so that's not surprising.

Atlanta's last regular season road game in 2014 will be against the Saints in week 16. New Orleans is a city with a rich history and culture, as well as amazing food. Just be sure to wear your Falcons gear on Bourbon Street so you don't have to feel guilty about enjoying yourself in New Orleans. The Super Dome is within walking distance of Canal Street. Once inside, you can check out the Saints Hall of Fame. Hopefully they have an exhibit on the paper bags fans wore on their heads for much of the history of the franchise because that's my favorite thing about the Saints. MacDonald ranked the Super Dome experience eighth out of 32 teams. I guess he was there for a game in which they kept the lights on the whole time. (It's hate week, guys. I'm just having some fun.)

If you're interested in reading up on a strategy to see all 32 teams play in their home stadiums this season, or just learning more about the history and amenities of every NFL stadium, check out Sean MacDonald's book, which is available for purchase on  Amazon and  iBooks .

A four-month, 62-game college football road trip: catching up with Northwestern alum Rodger Sherman

Before the 2023 college football season, sportswriter Rodger Sherman planned out the dream road trip for any avid sports fan. He quit his job at The Ringer and embarked on a journey across the country to soak in as much college football as possible. 62 games, 43 states and approximately 42,000 driven miles later, the Northwestern and Inside NU alum (back when Northwestern’s SB Nation affiliate was called Sippin’ on Purple) joined us for a Q&A to chronicle his adventures.

Ethan Segall, Inside NU: When was this road trip an idea that became implanted in your mind?

Rodger Sherman: Probably last November. November 2022 — I was watching a MAC game on TV on a Tuesday or Wednesday night. And there was a guy who was on a 77-game road trip last year, Ben Chase, and they showed him during the game, and I was like, “I need to do that.” So I asked my wife, “Hey, what if I did this next year?” and she said “Go for it.” And then I started looking into how to make it doable both logistically and financially and just went for it.

ES: What was the process of quitting your job like?

RS: Yeah, that wasn’t fun. I had a very good job at The Ringer. I had a very good situation . . . so I didn’t like that part of it. And part of me was hoping that I could figure out a way to make it work with The Ringer, but part of me also wanted to do this independently and see what would come of it myself.

ES: Was there ever a point on the trip where you were in the middle of the night driving and stopped yourself to ask “What am I doing here?”

RS: Pretty much every day. Even through the end of it, because I think just driving by yourself for six to eight hours a day, that thought will cross your mind even if there’s a million dollars on the other end. And in my case there wasn’t a million dollars. There was just a MAC football game. So I definitely had that thought, “What am I doing and why am I doing it?” at least once a day. The thing is, then you get to the games and you hang out with the fans and I would meet people who were following me and would say, “What you’re doing is awesome. Keep going, keep going.”

ES: After going to dozens of games, did you gain a new perspective on what you can get from being in the stadium that you can’t get from sitting on the couch?

RS: Oh, absolutely. I hadn’t regularly attended games since I was a Northwestern student, and when I did it would be all the way up in the press box. When you’re watching on TV, you hear the noise of the crowd, you see the place. But I think the things that are missing are when you’re at a big game, you get a sense of what it means to the fans. And when you’re at a small game, you get a sense for what it means to the players. You can get up close to them and see how much they care and what emotions they’re letting out on the sidelines. You can see how big and how fast the players are, and how quickly they move, and how much work they have to put in on the sidelines to keep themselves playing. You get an entire new perspective for how much effort it is. And in the stands, college football just means so much to people and each game has a different vibe to it. … I think there really is a magic to live football that definitely isn’t captured through the cameras, as great as it is to watch on TV.

ES: What has the recovery process been like for you the past few weeks since you’ve gotten home?

RS: I’ve been sleeping. I feel like somehow I’ve not really recovered or been productive. … I’m looking for TV shows that you don’t even have to think about, that don’t require any mental capacity at all. I thought I was going to play a lot of video games when I got back and I haven’t just because video games involve active thinking. Yeah, basically just hanging out with my wife and my dogs. I spent a lot of time away from both of them, so it’s nice to see them for sure. I don’t recommend spending a lot of time away from your partner or your pets. They’re both bad for your mental health.

ES: Tell me about the experience of being in a Goodyear blimp.

RS: Oh, that was great! What they told me is they had never had someone in the blimp who wasn’t working for a game. … It’s very fun to look out at the world from a low hover like that. It’s 1,500 feet up, so kind of like gliding over the Earth. And I saw Kent State-Akron, which was in terms of the quality of the football teams, probably the game with the fewest combined wins all season long and turned out to be a great game. Akron came back from a huge deficit, and you could really watch it like the all-22 — you see these little dots moving around up there. So in the same way I said that live football gets you up close and lets you see the emotions, this was the exact opposite. Just little X’s and O’s moving around from about a thousand feet.

ES: Your final game of the season was the National Championship. What were the emotions of completing the trip?

RS: I don’t want to say relief. It was accomplishment. It was probably the exact same emotions that the Michigan fans felt. I’m joking but serious. It was like, “We did it. We finally did it.”

ES: Hypothetical scenario — you somehow become the commissioner of college football for a day. Realignment, College Football Playoff Committee, NIL or anything else — what’s the first thing you’re changing about the sport?

RS: First, I’m making the athletes employees. I just morally feel as if they deserve money. Number two, every team has to play every other team in its state every year, up to maybe four or five, just because I just think there’s something really special about those games and those environments. When you have to play the people you live with and the players played against each other in high school and the coaches are recruiting against each other all year long, and you have to go to work with the people on Monday after the game — that’s something that can’t be captured by pro sports. The atmosphere always feels different for those. The best crowd in sports is one where 50% of the people are rooting for the two teams.

ES: In this era of college football with the Sickos Committee and everyone seeking maximum chaos, what was the funniest thing you saw on your trip?

RS: It would definitely be off the field because, as funny as college football can be, it’s the fans that really take it to the next level. I saw a lot of things that can’t be used in a respectable publication such as Inside NU. It was when I went to the Pop-Tarts Bowl and the Pop-Tart fed me a Pop-Tart and then I went to the Cheez-It bowl a few days later and it was also in Orlando and also hosted by Florida Citrus Sports. I saw the Cheez-It mascot and he said to me, “It’s you again!” from inside the mascot suit.

ES: On that subject, if you could create a bowl game in the same vein as the Pop-Tarts Bowl, Cheez-It Bowl or Duke’s Mayo Bowl to try and go viral, what company would you choose?

RS: I think there’s a few ways you can go with it. One would be a sponsor of things that people actually drink at college football games, so the Busch Light Bowl would be great. What is the funniest thing you could dump on someone? They really kind of hit the mark with mayo, so that’s hard to top. I could see something in the burrito-guacamole category being ideal. Like Chipotle, like a Burrito Bowl. Or any sort of sauce would be great. But really, my main advice is only foods and drinks should sponsor bowl games. You’re throwing away money if you’re ReliaQuest, which I don’t know what it is. Or I went to the 68 Ventures Bowl and no one even told me what 68 Ventures is. Who sponsored the Las Vegas Bowl?

ES: SRS Distribution

RS: What? No, that’s nothing. That’s not a real thing. They made that up. I think the Chipotle Burrito Bowl, you can’t miss with that, and I’m giving away these ideas for free.

ES: Some quick-hitter superlatives. What was the best on-field game you saw?

RS: Oklahoma-Texas, which is funny because it was Texas’ only loss all year (before the CFP). Tremendously thrilling game. Incredible atmosphere on and off the field.

ES: Loudest stadium?

ES: Most tense rivalry game you saw?

RS: That’s a good one. The most fun I had at a game was Oklahoma-Oklahoma State, the final Bedlam game. I’d say that’s going to be it because Oklahoma State would have been devastated if they lost that game. Talking to people before the game, they weren’t even excited. They were nervous. And then they did it. They couldn’t have lived with having Oklahoma leave the conference and also losing that game. And then Oklahoma State ruined Oklahoma’s season and had the biggest party I saw all year.

ES: Best food?

RS: LSU again. LSU really runs away with a lot of categories.

ES: Prettiest campus?

RS: I’m going to go with Army, United States Military Academy at West Point. Prettiest stadium was Washington and my surprise pick for prettiest state to drive through is West Virginia, but maybe Montana. Those are my two.

ES: What was your favorite mascot?

RS: Favorite mascot that I met is Wyoming. They have two horses, one big horse that runs out at the beginning of the game and then they have a miniature horse like Li’l Sebastian who runs, kind of walks, across the end zone. Just an incredible one-two punch of great horses and I got to meet both of them. The best live mascot were the horses, the best overall mascot was the Pop-Tart, who is probably also the Cheez-It, but unconfirmed.

ES: What was the best marching band you saw?

RS: I went to the Celebration Bowl in Atlanta and the HBCU bands are incredible. Florida A&M, The Marching 100, they have a lot more than 100 people in the band but are called the Marching 100, and I’d watched them play on YouTube before but I stayed there after the game for the fifth quarter and stood next to the trumpets and got up really close to them and there’s just a power to it that even other good bands cannot capture.

ES: What’s your favorite memento or piece of merchandise you got from the trip?

RS: I wrote my wife postcards every day for the last couple of months, or not every day, but as much as I could. So our fridge is covered in Tennessee, Montana, Texas, from every corner of the country. I also have a gigantic foam Wyoming cowboy hat that I found on the ground before the game and then annoyed the person behind me wearing it during the game.

ES: You technically saw three Northwestern games this season, although two were the NAIA team in Iowa, but you were at Northwestern-Rutgers back in Week One when the Wildcats lost. What were your thoughts on seeing Northwestern’s 8-5 finish and a bowl win in David Braun’s first year?

RS: I’m an FCS head so I was pleasantly surprised when we hired David Braun as the interim. Every coach that goes to the next level from North Dakota State is good. So when we hired him, I was like “Hell yeah,” but I still thought they would be 2-10. He’s inheriting a bad roster, most of whom came to play for Fitzgerald and is undergoing tremendous off-field turbulence, so I thought they would suck. Then I saw them play Rutgers and they almost got shut out. I was thinking like 1-11 or 2-10, and so all of those Coach of the Year awards were deserved. You can’t give David Braun enough credit. Any win over zero this year would’ve been incredible. And it happened over the course of the season, they went from bad to good. That level of improvement, that level of coaching, is phenomenal. Shoutout to the guys who pulled it off.

ES: Ryan Field is being torn down as we speak. Considering how many stadiums you went to this year, how does Ryan Field stack up?

RS: Well, it’s great for crowds that are evenly split which can make for some remarkable atmospheres. I am a little bit sad that they’re going away from something that’s iconic. I like college football things that are unique, and I feel we are going away from a thing that is unique to a thing that is going to look a lot like other new stadiums, and that disappoints me.

ES: Do you have a favorite Ryan Field memory?

RS: My sophomore year 2009, I painted my chest for the final games of the year. Along with other people, we spelled something out. I think I was the exclamation mark which meant I had to stand all the way at the end of the line, but in a game in November against Wisconsin they won as underdogs in a game that was probably 10-20 degree weather.

ES: We’re also in the midst of another exciting Northwestern Men’s Basketball season. Any thoughts or predictions for the Wildcats?

RS: We got a tourney in at this point. The amount of ranked wins they’re racking up is incredible to see. The atmosphere at those games, I always had more fun at the basketball games than the football games, but I never pictured it being like this. Boo Buie for the Hall of Fame. Man, he’s a legend. When I was getting pumped about making the NIT, now the possibility of back-to-back tourney runs, it probably makes me happier than anything the football team could do. Having cared deeply about Northwestern basketball before they made a tournament, I kind of thought I would lose interest once they made it, because that was like the White Whale and we spent forever chasing it. The fact that they’ve managed to increase and enhance my fandom just by having a kick-ass team and kick-ass environment every year is never something I could have expected.

ES: What can we expect next from you?

RS: My plans are to figure out how to get all of my videos up. I’m hoping to write a book about my travels.

Follow up from my previous review.

Follow up from my previous review. Now it is nearing the time of the final payment(next month), we are still owed thousands we have received emails basically telling us to remove online reviews as they are not the same company. They are saying this should somehow slow down the payments. Unfortunately we shouldn’t have had to go down this route as it should have been paid by now, however the comments are all fair. This company is terrible to deal with and simply can’t honour their word.

What communication

Payment was made by May 2023 (including one month overpayment) but no responses have been made to repeated requests to cancel and have a refund processed. Based on this experience, I'd recommend them to no one. *Edit - email today saying the do not process refunds more than 48hrs after booking.

New Name / Same Scam

This scam company is now operating under the name "The European Football Experience" and trying their scam again. The company owner has changed his surname to try and restart this scam over again. Don't fall for it. Also if you try to add any review to the new Facebook group, they'll just remove your comment and block you.

Scam of a company

Supposed to have gone to the last games of the season, Dortmund and Feyenoord. Had no contact from the company running up to the trip. Finally got told it had been cancelled due to Covid/Staffing issues/ rising costs/Rail strikes, Delete as applicable. Agreed to receive 70% of what we'd paid, up to now we have received 2 payments of £890. Last payment was June. Still owed four payments of this. No communication since. Company has now magically found a new name, The European Football Experience, although the same guy is behind the scenes again. Anyone that has been robbed by their last venture get blocked from the new page when raising any questions. Absolute scam of a company and fraud of a bloke.

An amazing experience

Went away with frt this weekend and honestly had one of the best weekends of my life. We went to Borussia dortmund v Leipzig and fc twenty v heereveen (due to fixture changes). Being in the yellow wall was incredible with a brilliant atmosphere and something off the bucket list but the best times we’re on the coach and out in the cities. Our guide nick was brilliant and a great guy and the rest of the boys on the bus were a great laugh too. Going to take a while to recover but already thinking about booking another.

Just got back from a quality weekend…

Just got back from a quality weekend with FRT . Our guides Craig & Ben were great in supplying the knowledge for the nights out & organisation in getting us all from A to B to C to D Highlight had to be the yellow wall at Dortmund , best atmosphere I’ve ever experienced & we were slap bang in the middle. Nights out in Düsseldorf & Amsterdam were great. Decent hotels though not central. Would definitely book again.

Just got back from Brussels

Just got back from Brussels, dortmund and Amsterdam and I'm a shadow of my former self. Boss sent me home early from work today I've been that useless, constantly shiiting/shivering Can't wait to go again!! Rich the tour guy was sound as, keeping us all topped up with ale and getting us everywhere on time despite the wheels literally coming of the bus(story for another time). FRT could be better with communication and the vans were ok but far from luxurious A company propped up by its tour guides. All in all a really great trip

Excellent Weekend

Excellent weekend away, guides were good especially Ben, always stopped when we asked them too, 3 great nights in Brussels, Dusseldorf and Amsterdam, hotels could have been closer but Ben saw us right in which pubs to go to Dortmund yellow wall was amazing, atmosphere was just indescribable, sittard wasn’t bad but not as good as Dortmund Would highly recommend

Do not participate in this trip.

Do not participate in this trip. It’s a massive Con and ridiculously expensive considering 3/4 of your holiday you will be sat on a tight fitting bus. The whole trip was not organised at all and was a waste of time. False advertisement of Glamorous luxury sprinters and your unlimited drinks was absolutely wrong. The drinks were stocked at the beginning and only that, the guides had no clue what they were doing and even refused us to get off for toilet trips during the LONG travels.

Date of experience : 24 April 2023

Great Weekend

Had a fabulous weekend with amazing bunch of friends. After a slow start with communication due to extremely busy schedule the weekend before, FRT were very helpful. We had WhatsApp group where all the meeting times and locations were put together. The advertised PlayStation and tv were not available but, that didn’t bother our group. It was my first time visiting Europe to watch football and this trip did not disappoint. The Schalke v Stuttgart atmosphere was amazing and one that will stay with me for a very long time. Once we get over the hangovers we will definitely be looking to book another trip next year.

A shambles from start to finish

4 of us booked this trip for the last game of the 2022/23 season and it did not go ahead due to the company supposedly entering administration. We were advised that the best option would be to cancel and that we would receive 6 monthly instalments to receive our money. We last received a payment at the start of July and they are now ignoring our continuous emails on when we will receive further payment. Their communication is shambolic and they clearly do not care that many customers have spent their hard earned money on their ‘once in a lifetime trips’. Do not book with this company!

If your a football fan then football…

If your a football fan then football road trips is a MUST. The yellow wall experience at Dortmund is something I will never forget, also witnessing PSV v Feyenoord was brilliant. Also when the company says the beer fridges open they ain’t lying just a constant supply of beer. Will definitely look to book again multiple times.

A MUST DO bucket list experience

Lifelong memories from our trip. This is a MUST DO for the lads, just an unbelievable experience. Proper top value for money and a real personal and hands on approach. Already talking about the next one with the lads. Being part of the YELLOW WALL at Borussia Dortmund is like nothing I’ve experienced at any other ground in Europe. Any best men planning a stag do you won’t be short of beers, cheers and great memories.

Waited a long time to do this trip and…

Waited a long time to do this trip and well worth the wait. Great experience being in the Yellow Wall though the game wasn’t great the atmosphere made up for it. Really enjoyed the Heerenveen game and also a decent atmosphere. Hotels were all good and reasonably well placed for the night life in each city. Enjoyed the craic with Stag lads from Macclesfield Craig and the other guides really helpful. Oh and don’t forget the bus drivers. Special thanks Angelo for dropping us at London City Airport. Would recommend FRT.

Footy weekend never to forget!!

Absolutely fantastic trip all thanks to the planning and company of the guides. Craig was awesome and knew everywhere to go to make sure we were always in the heart of the action. Absolutely top bloke as well quickly becoming one of the lads! The football was an experience in itself. Being on the yellow wall at Dortmund was one of the greatest experiences.tge Hotels were all good quality although a little far out, but getting a decent hotel for 60 is always going to be a challenge.. well deserved 5 stars!!!

Top trip! Tickets to see Schalke which was an unbelievable experience and brilliant seats at the PSV game. Even though we received the itinerary pretty close to the date we were going, once we was there the trip was well organised and Kai who ran it could do enough for you. Travel was pretty smooth throughout and hotels were a good standard. Overall great trip.

Date of experience : 25 February 2023

Amazing weekend of beer and football

Had an amazing weekend visiting 4 countries in 4 days and experiencing the Yellow Wall in Borussia Dortmund was definitely one ticked off of the bucket list. We were supposed to go to the FC Twente game as well but we asked if we could head straight to Amsterdam for a night out instead because of the late kick off. They were more than happy for us to do this. The hotels were top quality and definitely 4 or 5 star. Had great nights out in Brussels, Düsseldorf and Amsterdam with our guide Oliver who took us to some great bars. Would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys beer and football. Oliver looked after us all and made sure we always had plenty of beer on the bus. We are already talking about planning another trip next season.
