Halsey has officially pulled the plug on what would have been her 2020, then 2021, tour, as the resumption of major arena tours this year looks increasingly uncertain.

The announcement came in a message to fans on Twitter Friday afternoon.

“Safety is the priority.,” the singer tweeted. “I wish things were different. I love you. Dreaming of seeing your faces again.”

In a longer, more explanatory note attached to the tweet, Halsey wrote, “Despite our absolute best efforts, there is no guarantee I’ll be able to tour the currently scheduled dates. I miss seeing all of you in the crowd every night more than anything, but I need to prioritize your health and safety. That being said, the Manic tour is now officially canceled. As much as we wanted to hold out hope that this tour could eventually happen, our priority is now getting your ticket money back to you immediately.”

She added,“This tour was supposed to be my most unique yet for a number of reasons. I was really looking forward to sharing this chapter of my life with you in the ways I best know how. But for now, I am dreaming of days where we can all be together again. I love you and we will adapt and grow and find new ways to connect despite the circumstances.”

Halsey concludes by promising to “find new ways to connect despite the circumstances.”

The singer told fans that news about refunds would be forthcoming.

“Look out for an email from your point of purchase with instructions regarding how to receive your refund. If you haven’t received an email by Monday, reach out to your point of purchase.”

Halsey reps indicated that this would be the only public statement for now, as ticketholders await the email blast with further instructions.

Halsey’s tweet said that the account “ @halseyteamhelp can answer specific questions.”

The Manic tour did manage to get in 17 dates in early 2020, all of them in Europe, before the pandemic caused a halt after a March 12 show in Manchester, England. She announced in May that the U.S. dates would be pushed back almost exactly a year, to the summer of ’21.

Her rescheduled tour was to have begun June 1 in Washington state ,with dates that would have included a June 9 show at the Hollywood Bowl before ending July 32 in Irvine, Calif. Among the others now off the books are two-night stands at New York’s Forest Hills Stadium and Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

Other stars have been facing up to the fact that they may have to wait for an entirely different album cycle to tour again, like Maren Morris, who similarly recently announced that she was canceling her “Girl” tour rather than trying to postpone the dates for a second time.

Festivals currently still scheduled for the spring and summer, including Ultra Music Festival and Coachella, have not yet been officially announced as postponed or canceled, although few expect them to go on with their planned dates. Many experts have suggested that the vaccination process for younger adults in the U.S. may extend into late summer.

Halsey Cancels Manic World Tour: ‘Safety Is the Priority’

By Daniel Kreps

Daniel Kreps

Halsey announced Friday that her Manic World Tour, scheduled for 2020 but postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, has officially been canceled.

“Safety is the priority. I wish things were different,” the singer tweeted Friday. “I love you. Dreaming of seeing your faces again.”

The North American leg of the singer’s Manic Tour in support of her 2020 LP was scheduled to begin in June 2020. However, with a return to semi-normalcy not forecasted for several more months, Halsey opted to cancel the tour in order to refund fans’ tickets.

“Despite our absolute best efforts, there is no guarantee I’ll be able to tour the currently scheduled dates,” Halsey wrote in a statement to fans. “I miss seeing all of you in the crowd every night more than anything, but I need to prioritize your health and safety. That being said, the Manic tour is now officially canceled. As much as we wanted to hold out hope that this tour could eventually happen, our priority is now getting your ticket money back to you immediately.”

Halsey told fans to be on the lookout for an email with refund information. Halsey did manage to perform a dozen Manic Tour shows in Europe pre-pandemic, but the North American dates were postponed to summer 2021 prior to their cancellation.

The singer added, “This tour was supposed to be my most unique yet for a number of reasons. I was really looking forward to sharing this chapter of my life with you in the ways I best know how. But for now, I am dreaming of days where we can all be together again. I love you and we will adapt and grow and find new ways to connect despite the circumstances.”

LA indie-pop band The Marias and TikTok make-up artist-turned-pop star Abby Roberts will join them from June 16 to July 9, excluding June 21 where Wolf Alice will open.

In December, Halsey released an extended edition of If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power , featuring two versions of their 2020 single “Nightmare,” as well as the track “People Disappear Here.” Both songs had previously been released on special US retailer releases of the record last year.

Weeks before that release, the pop icon shared a new video for “Honey,” which appeared on the Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross-produced album. The clip saw the star getting covered in honey while performing the track.

On March 2, Halsey will be honored at the BandLab NME Awards 2022 , where she will receive the Innovation Award. “I wasn’t expecting [this], I was very surprised,” she told NME when the news was announced last year. “But it’s really, really awesome – I think you start to get really sad and nervous about how your music connects when you’re not around to bring it to life, and to know that it’s still resonating is really, really cool.”

Halsey (born September 29, 1994) is the stage name of American indie-pop singer-songwriter and musician Ashley Frangipane, hailing from Washington, New Jersey, U.S.

Born and raised in Washington, New Jersey, Frangipane also spent time in neighbouring New York where she soon developed ties. During her early years the musician learned to play the viola, violin, and the cello before at the age of 14, pickiing up the acoustic guitar. Frangipane subsequently enrolled in community college studying songwriting and began to build a list of musical connections. In order to pay for her classes the singer-songwriter would perform all over the East Coast using various monikers, ultimately landing on the anagram of her name, Halsey.

The musician’s big break came in 2014 when Frangipane uploaded the song “Ghost” to her SoundCloud page. The track soon became popular online and caught the attention of a number of interested labels. The singer subsequently signed with Astralwerks who issued her debut EP “Room 93” in October that year. Introducing the singer’s emotive vocal delivery and songwriting, reminiscent of British singer Ellie Goulding, the record catapulted Frangipane to online notoriety. Featuring the single “Ghost”, the EP also spawned four accompanying videos, garnering significant attention on music video platforms.

In support of the record the singer toured in support of The Kooks and embarked on her “American Youth Tour” alongside Young Rising Sons and OLIVVER. The remix EP “Room 93: The Remixes” was released in March 2015 featuring mixes by Arty, Lost Kings, and Sander Kleinenberg. Later in 2015 the singer made her South by Southwest festival debut, where according to social media, she was the most talked-about act of the festival.

Live reviews

I started listening to Halsey in the summer, as a lot of people that have the same music taste as me had been raving about her on twitter, tumblr and instagram. So i checked her music out on spotify and fell in love.

I then told my best friend about her and she too quickly became obsessed. When she released tickets for a London show we bought them straight away.

The effects were amazing, she looked amazing and her voice was incredible! Also, the two support acts (Flor and BØRNS) were really good.

I recommend getting standing tickets, as you will have a much better view (also the O2 Academy Brixton had the floor as a slope so you had a good view from wherever you were standing) and getting there when doors open as the queue moves fast and you'll be able to have a good spot and see the supporting acts.

I really loved her performance of New Americana, Ghost, Young God, Hurricane, Drive and Gasoline!!

The setlist was really well thought out and she was charming, beautiful and funny! One of the best shows I've been to!

There wasn't a massive variety of merch but, as someone who goes to concerts a lot, it was a really really good show. 100% worth the money!

The moment the bass kicked in and the lights went down, I could feel her energy in the air. All of her love, all of her peace was radiating throughout the ballroom and crashing like waves into each and every single persons chest. When she finally appeared in a red jumpsuit and a black top, my heart stopped. Everything in the world came to a pause and she was there, giving her life on stage. After several costume changes and adjustments and beautiful stage presence, Halsey began to address some issues that have come about in the US and in doing so, she reminded us all to be proud. Proud of our race, sexuality, gender and everything in between. And when she looked out into the crowd, scanning our faces, passing her love individually to every pair of eyes she met, I almost felt as though her eyes caught me, way up in the balcony beyond human sight, and I swear she smiled.

Not only is Halsey's stage presence intensely welcoming and energetic, but her voice is absolutely stunning. Even with all her movement and dancing she still manages to sound almost identical to her recordings. I have so much love and respect for her talent and I hope to see her again live very soon.

New Jersey pop singer Ashley Nicolette Frangipane better known by her stage persona of Halsey is the next in a long line of icy cool teen stars attempting to break out of the States. Although she is only 20 years old, there is something quite old headed and mature about Halsey. Perhaps it is due to the fact you can really understand the mixed inspirations of Slick Rick, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Alanis Morisette, The Cure and 2Pac when watching her live.

There is clear adoration for the indie scene that she grew up surrounded by whilst the hip hop bass lines are turned up to the max during the show. She has a great confidence too for somebody so young as she enthuses the crowd with ease and makes them jump along to tracks they have not even heard of. The debut album is set for release this year so therefore a number of tracks are showcased tonight and there is a strange electricity that seems to point towards this being one of the most exciting releases to come.

Halsey was fucking amazing. It was a very fun show and I really liked that it was general admission. I waited in line in the cold for about 4 hours and there were around 150 to 200 people in front of me. When I got onto the venue everyone was really nice and I somehow worked my way up to 3rd row. There was a lot of pushing but that's to be expected at a general admission show. Olivver the kid went on first and he played about 5 songs his music was really good and even though the crowd didn't know him, we had a good time. Next was Young Rising Sons, Adam was very involved in the crowd and was always holding ours hands and signing to us. He handed a girl his mic for about 30 seconds was constantly making eye contact with people. Finally Halsey came on. She played 12 songs and fucking killed it. She had a lot of attitude and went all around the stage. She wasn't as involved in the crowd as YRS was but her show was fucking amazing

Halsey is truly amazing live. Her energy on stage was incredibly high throughout the entirety of the show: she never seems to get tired! Her voice sounds identical to that of the studio versions of her songs, even when she is jumping around and engaging with the crowd (interacting with the front row), and EVEN when the end of the show came, she still hit the notes effortlessly. Furthermore, her outfit changes were executed smoothly and quickly, not giving the crowd much time to even register her temporary disappearances. The lights and sounds also added to her performance (although I would say that there was quite a lot of fast flashing lights, which is bad for my head!). Overall, it was truly amazing, and she had everyone else tirelessly dancing and singing along through the entire concert. I would definitely go to see her again!

The best concert I've ever been to in my entire life... granted I've only been to 2... but Halsey has been my idol ever since I discovered her, and it was a dream come true seeing her life. If I get enough money I may go to her last concert at Madison Square Garden seeing as I'm originally from New York, and it would be cool to be able to say "yeah I went to the first concert and the last concert of her Final Installment" It is my dream come true, and I hope I can meet her one day... if I didn't cry enough at the concert from her being so amazing I can't even imagine meeting her!! But I 10/10 recommend you see her in concert. I can't stop posting about it everywhere, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat got SPAMMED with all my videos and pictures that I took. I can't wait to see her again! :)

Attended the second night of Halsey's residency at Webster Hall on Thursday (9th May). I was fortunate enough to get a ticket during the second round. (She had reclaimed prior tix from scalpers.) Her fan base is incredibly passionate about her, and tis easy to see why.

The majority of the set list covered her latest album, "Hopeless Fountain Kingdom". "Bad at Love" was a definite crowd pleaser. "Now or Never", "Sorry", "Walls Could Talk" and "Strangers" were additional gems. Though being in General Admission was an insane crush, I would gladly see her again.

She definitely fed off the energy of the crowd, and we returned it in spades. She effortlessly danced across WH's small stage. After remarking how far she was from her audience at one point, she then jumped into the crowd.

Halsey, she was absolutely amazing live. She spoke to the whole crowd and it felt like she really connected to the crowd. Her songs were amazing live and her dancing was breathtaking. The lights were as it was searching for the right crowd member to shine it's multicoloured brightness to illuminate oneself. But the lights were certainly not 'overdone' in any means. Halsey is a great person to who will try to take time to meet with the fans. In my personal experience I waited a couple hours outside to even catch another glimpse of her. When she came out she spoke again to us that were left about her experience and what really could you ask more of ? All and all I would definitely go to another one of her concerts if the opportunity came up again. Would recommend for any fan of hers.

I find it hard to put into words how amazing I felt at Halsey's Houston show on October 25th. There were fans of so many different races, sexualities, and ages, and once Halsey started singing it's as if the whole crowd became one person and we all just connected so deeply with the music and the artist. Halsey is one of the few artists who will go out of their way to communicate with their fans. She didn't just go up there, sing, and leave. She talked to us about love, heartache, and being strong in the face of hate and adversity and that just made her performance ten times more emotional and amazing for me. Not to mention, the special effects, dancing, and opening acts were breathtaking. Halsey can put on quite a show and I would strongly recommend going to see her live.

The concert was amazing. The stage was lit sooo well that even from far you could see it. It’s a must go to concert because in between songs Halsey sometimes has some really deep conversations with the audience and parts of it are very inspiring. In her concert yesterday in Wolf Trap Vienna she said that she doesn’t like being at the top away from the audience. That’s why she had a really pretty staircase that could take her closer to us. At one point she came walking down the side way of the crowd and everyone went crazy. She’s says that we’re all relatable no matter who you are: guy, girl someone’s girlfriend of ex. We can all relate in someway!! I could write an essay on this but it’ll be too long:)

Halsey ‘s United States leg of the Manic World Tour has been rescheduled to summer 2021 as the COVID-19 pandemic keeps concert venues closed.

Halsey began her world tour earlier this year, and performed throughout Europe and the United Kingdom, but when COVID-19 hit in March, she was forced to cancel the rest of her shows in the U.S. scheduled for this summer.

“As I’m sure many of you predicted, we are unfortunately going to have to reschedule the upcoming 2020 summer tour,” Halsey said when she announced the new tour schedule. “There’s nothing more important to me than the safety and health of my fans. We’re excited to announce summer 2021 dates with the same venues.”

The tour is set to kick off in Auburn, Washington on June 1, and then travel all around America before the final show in Irvine, California on July 31.

Halsey had originally planned to take a break from touring at the end of 2020. During the European leg of the tour, she said she would be done touring for a while.

“I think 2020 will mark the end of me touring for a very long time,” she said. “Thank you for making the memories so special. I am cherishing every single night.” This crazy year has changed many people’s plans, even including Halsey’s.

Halsey cancels her 'Manic' tour, Summerfest show in Milwaukee because of coronavirus pandemic

halsey tour 2021

Summerfest was canceled in 2020  for the first time in its 54-year history  because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Now the Milwaukee music festival has lost its first headliner for 2021.

Halsey has canceled her summer tour behind her latest album “Manic,” the pop star announced Friday night. The tour was scheduled to stop at Summerfest’s largest venue, the 23,000-capacity American Family Insurance Amphitheater, on July 3.

“I miss seeing all of you in the crowd every night more than anything, but I need to prioritize your health and safety,” Halsey wrote in a statement.

Summerfest officials confirmed the cancellation in a statement to the Journal Sentinel Friday.

“While we are disappointed Halsey’s tour will not play the American Family Insurance Amphitheater this summer, Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. continues to build a diverse, blockbuster Summerfest lineup for our fans," the statement read. "Our team is working closely with civic officials and health care professionals to safely bring live music back to the lakefront.  More information on Summerfest 2021 will be forthcoming in the weeks to come.”

Halsey said emails regarding refund information would be sent out, telling fans to contact their point of purchase if they haven’t heard anything by Monday.

It’s the second major Milwaukee concert of 2021 to be affected by the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, after Michael Bublé’s Fiserv Forum show set for February was bumped to September.

The touring industry suddenly shut down last March because of the pandemic, and venues across much of the world remain dark.

Last month, Joe Berchtold, president of Live Nation, the world’s largest promoter, said the company expected outdoor concerts to come back this summer.

But Dr. Anthony Fauci, the country’s leading infectious diseases expert, has suggested that 75% to 85% of the nation’s population would need to be vaccinated before the concert industry could come back. He expressed hope at a White House news conference this week that that threshold could be achieved by the end of the summer.

In recent days, major U.S. festivals like Governor’s Ball in New York and the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival have postponed their 2021 dates to this fall. Glastonbury in England, one of the world’s premier summer music festivals, canceled for a second consecutive year this week.

For now, Summerfest, the largest music festival in the United States, is still on for 2021, scheduled to run across a trio of three-day weekends beginning June 24.

“We're going full steam ahead for June until we're not," Don Smiley, CEO for Summerfest parent company Milwaukee World Festival Inc., told the Journal Sentinel in October. Smiley said, without going into specifics, that the festival has contingency plans if those dates aren’t possible.

Originally, Halsey was scheduled to headline Summerfest’s amphitheater last year, following the venue’s $51.3 million renovation. She moved her show to Summerfest 2021, as did seven other headliners originally booked for 2020.

Those other rescheduled amphitheater shows include: Khalid (June 24), Luke Bryan with Morgan Wallen (June 25), Justin Bieber (June 26), Dave Matthews Band (July 1), Blink-182 (July 2), Chris Stapleton with Sheryl Crow (July 8), and Guns N' Roses (July 10).

Halsey, Ultra Music Festival Join the List of 2021 Cancellations

halsey tour 2021

Halsey has officially canceled her long-delayed Manic World Tour, while Ultra Music Festival organizers are reportedly working to finalize their festival’s 2022 dates before formally announcing that the 2021 edition has been put on ice.

Halsey recently revealed in a statement that she’d opted to shelve the remaining Manic World Tour stops. Her concert series’ European leg kicked off on February 6th of last year and halted in mid-March, after 17 shows, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. The North American leg – comprised solely of performances in the United States, save for one gig at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage and a set at the Festival d’été de Québec  – was originally scheduled to initiate in early June of 2020 and conclude at July’s end.

“I need to prioritize your health and safety,” the 26-year-old Halsey said of the cancellation decision. “As much as we wanted to hold out hope that this tour could eventually happen, our priority is now getting your ticket money back to you immediately,” she continued.

The New Jersey-born artist proceeded to state that fans can expect to receive an email with refund information from their point of purchase. If said message doesn’t arrive by Monday, January 25th, ticketholders should “reach out to your point of purchase” – a suggestion echoed by Halsey Customer Service on Twitter.

In closing the formal statement, Halsey told her fans: “I love you and we will adapt and grow and find new ways to connect despite the circumstances.” Additionally, the “Nightmare” artist indicated via a follow-up tweet that she is “gutted” about the world-tour cancellation.

And Ultra, which was tentatively expected to begin on March 26th, 2021, has been shelved for the second year in a row, according to Billboard . Continued COVID-19 concerns prompted the decision, per the same source, but the 22-year-old festival’s organizers are reportedly waiting until they’ve locked in 2022 dates to publicly reveal the development.

At the time of this piece’s publishing, Ultra hadn’t addressed the reported cancellation on its website or social-media profiles.

The unfortunate cancellations, which arrive just days after Glastonbury 2021 was nixed because of the pandemic , may suggest that the full-scale return of concerts and music festivals could take slightly longer than some industry professionals and investors are anticipating. Though the continued rollout of COVID-19 vaccines, several coronavirus studies , and strong demand from fans , appear to play well for the prospect of a 2021 comeback, some happenings’ rescheduled dates are fast approaching.

Most immediately, Coachella 2021’s first day remains set to occur on Friday, April 9th. EDC Las Vegas is booked for the latter portion of May, whereas Bonnaroo is slated to welcome fans between September 2nd and September 5th.

Halsey announced Monday that she is hitting the road this spring – but only coming to one Canadian city.

“It’s been far too long and i could not be more excited to see you all,” the singer tweeted.

The Love and Power tour, in support of her latest album If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power , will stop at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage on June 5. Tickets go on sale Friday.

Beabadoobee and PinkPantheress will be special guests.

The tour, which runs from May 17 to July 9, is Halsey’s first since her Manic tour in 2021 and her first show in Canada since she brought her Hopeless Fountain Kingdom Tour to Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal in 2017 and 2018.

The 27-year-old singer welcomed her first baby last July.

Halsey Is Delivering a Punk-Rock Album to Go With Her Baby

Portrait of Devon Ivie

We haven’t been this excited since the premiere of Roadies . Just a year and a half after releasing her most recent album, Manic, Halsey has announced the next era of her discography. Glitter eye shadow for everyone! Days after astute social-media users posted that numerous billboards have been plastered in major cities announcing a new album, Halsey confirmed on June 28 that If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power is its official title. A ten-second teaser signifies that Halsey’s sonic direction will be punk rock as opposed to her previous pop earworms, which makes sense, given that spooky cuties Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross served as producers. This fourth album also comes at a fulfilling time in Halsey’s personal life: She’s pregnant with her first child with screenwriter Alev Aydin, which comes after she suffered several miscarriages because of endometriosis . Now give us the release date (for both babies), woman!

Update, July 7: Halsey confirmed in an Instagram post that If I Can’t Love, I Want Power will be released on August 27. She also unveiled the album cover, which is influenced by pretty much all Renaissance-era imagery available at the Uffizi Gallery. “This album is a concept album about the joys and horrors of pregnancy and childbirth,” she explained. “It was very important to me that the cover art conveyed the sentiment of my journey over the past few months. The dichotomy of the Madonna and the Whore. The idea that me as a sexual being and my body as a vessel and gift to my child are two concepts that can co-exist peacefully and powerfully. My body has belonged to the world in many different ways the past few years, and this image is my means of reclaiming my autonomy and establishing my pride and strength as a life force for my human being.”

Halsey clarified that the cover image “celebrates pregnant and postpartum bodies as something beautiful, to be admired. We have a long way to go with eradicating the social stigma around bodies and breastfeeding. I hope this can be a step in the right direction!”

Halsey Taps Alex G as Producer for Upcoming Fifth Studio Album: 'Please Don't Mess With This'

Halsey appears to have tapped Alex G as the producer for her upcoming album. The indie songwriter made a surprise appearance in the pop star's most recent Instagram post .

The slideshow posted on Monday, March 25 includes a brief video of Alex G sitting at a mixing board. "Engineer Alex," Halsey says as the track they were working on plays in the background.

Many fans believe the song will appear on Halsey's upcoming fifth studio album. It will be the first release under her new contract with Columbia Records .

"Miniature houses, miniature humans," Halsey wrote in the caption of the post, which also includes pictures of a doll house and a child eating a piece of bread. "Throwback songs and throwback tech. Friends and psychic visions. Please don’t mess with this."

Some fans believe that the last sentence of the caption will be the name of the album or one of the songs.

"I already love the small part of the song I just heard," one fan said. "(I'm) foaming at the mouth h please give us something already (I'm) gonna pass away," a different commenter said.

The pop star dropped a hint about her upcoming album in a different Instagram post last September.

"Not pictured: me splitting myself in two everyday so that I can give you my deepest wounds (and a handful of perfect joys) for the 5th time in 10 years," she wrote.

The singer also teased new music in a New Year's post : "I have a lot to say," she said. "Looking forward to doing so in 2024.

Halsey hasn't released a new LP since 2021's If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power , which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.

She may be best known for her 2018 track "Without Me" off the album Manic , which made it to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The singer first broke onto the scene with her 2015 LP Badlands , which made it to No. 2.

Halsey was one of the headliners for the Lollapalooza India festival in January alongside Sting , the Jonas Brothers and OneRepublic .

Alex G hasn't released any new music of his own since the 2022 LP God Save the Animals , which was his final release with Domino Recordings.

He signed with RCA earlier this year, a move that would have been unthinkable when he first started uploading bedroom recordings to Bandcamp in the early 2010s.

Alex G has been a big fish in the indie scene for over a decade now, but he became a household name in recent years after some of his tracks went viral on TikTok .

The songwriter has a lot of experience working with mainstream artists. He's been featured on two Frank Ocean albums and helped Lil Yachty pen the track "Failure" from his 2023 psychedelic rock record Let's Start Here .

Alex G has a tour scheduled this summer which includes several opening slots for the Foo Fighters . Check out a list of those upcoming concerts below:
