If only there were more stars! My sister-in-law and I hosted a group of friends this last Sunday on the bike bar with Vinny as our captain. This group was very diverse and after we all got okay with the fact that 70's and 80's music was best with this crowd, a GREAT time was had by all. Vinny was fantastic - very pleasant, showed us wonderful places downtown many of us had never seen before, stopped at all the best locations for a group picture. Fabulous communication and clear deadlines of the stops to ensure we were on time and he was not late to his next ride. Not to mention the fella's pretty funny. My entire experience with HandleBar Detroit was top notch from the moment I signed up. They kept me immediately informed as to what to expect, sent reminders to make sure we were prepared for the event. Made it easy to communicate with my crew This is one of those unique things to do in Detroit that will leave your guests with huge smiles on their faces, talking about the memories for weeks and gloating to their friends about the great time that was had. We're talking about making it an annual event. If it were a 10 star system on yelp, the only reason I would give them a 9 star rating is because there was no warning that we were just meeting in a parking lot - there is no brick and mortar location. The parking lot was very clearly marked and it does make sense - basically the bike pulls up, you saddle up, he checks your ID's and waiver status and off you go. As the hosts we arrived early and assumed we had to check in somewhere. No - it's all done on the bike. So if you do arrive early you can go to the Firebird Tavern to use the bathroom and have a pre-drink for 15% off. Highly HIGHLY recommend this fun outing for you and your favorite peeps.

Although it was rainy and cold, our trip around Detroit was a lot of fun! It's not as much work as it looks, it's definitely worth it. You can choose what bars you go to, as long as you stay within your time frame. Brian was our driver, and one of the owners, he was the best!

We decided to do a Sunday Funday Social Distanced Couples Bike Bar. Instead of filling the entire bike we had 4 couples and we had an absolute blast amid COVID-19. If you are still nervous about getting out don't be! The Handlebar has outstanding cleaning and disinfecting practices. Our driver kaushik wore his mask, played great music, always catered to our needs and was very fun and professional. I would definitely use the Handlebar again for any party or corporate event!! Absolutely loved it and felt safe! Thanks Handlebar!!! You exceeded our expectations!!

We are constantly booking events for alumni groups and out-of-town visitors and HandleBar is now at the top of my list! This is a can't-miss, see-the-area, fun ride for anyone that wants to get a little bit of Detroit. Each bike seats up to 16 people, most pedaling but plenty of seats for the incapable. (or lazy) and the stops are close enough together that just as you get tired of pedaling, you have arrives! We stopped at three classic Detroit pubs but the ride is customizable. Just ask them when you book. Our Man-in-Charge, Brian is flexible, friendly and someone you'd want to pub crawl with so that sets the mood for the evening before you even start. Don't worry about the weather. The bokes have an awning and once you get going, you won't notice bad or good. We went on a wintery evening and that made it even more fun. In fact, I think perfectly sunny weather might take away from the adventure of it all. This is a great night out for team bonding, alumni outings, sales team promotion, etc.. and even on a weekend, you're only investing approx $25 a person. It's a win for everyone, including the city of Detroit!, and participants won't ever forget the experience. Really happy to see great people and great things adding to Detroit!

Sarah was the best host/bartender/driver for our Handlebar biking experience! She was kind, helpful, and a great bar tender. We will come back with our group again and again and request her. What a way to see the city! Sarah was the best!

Went on a rainy night the day after Christmas and had so much fun I can’t imagine how nice it would be on a nice evening. The ride was covered so you stay dry. A great way to see the downtown area and make a few stops along the way for a drink or two.

I was so excited to hear this was coming to Detroit and it exceeded expectations! We went out on a Saturday night in December and couldn’t have had a better time. Our driver was knowledgeable, fun and excited to take us around town. We stopped at several bars/restaurants and they all had deals for us. Can’t wait to ride again!

Booked a peddle bar for my 21st birthday and had a blast 10 out of 10 would book again if I knew we would have Alex again! We had Alex as our driver and he made sure we all had a good time! Loved that we could bring our own drinks and could play our own music!!

Detroit has a ton of cool things. One of the coolest is The HandleBar .

The HandleBar is Detroit’s very own PedalPub . Riders pedal their own private bar around Downtown Detroit.

All tours start and end at 228 Gratiot Avenue , Detroit, in front of the Z-Deck Parking Garage.

There are six bar stools on each side. 6 people minimum, 16 maximum for a ride. You can bring your iPod/iPhone to be your own DJ.

The tours run March-November from 10am-10pm .

Minimum tour is 2-hours . Friday and Saturday it’s $400 per every two hours. Other days it’s $300 per every two hours.

OK, so you’re pretty sold on having brunch somewhere.  Now we need to dive into the details how to make this outing a success for your group.  You could easily google “best restaurant for brunch” or “best brunch party”….  OR you could just let us show you the light.  Here’s how we’d recommend the best ever brunch party in Detroit.

Brunch Idea #1:  Kickoff the day w/ a Brunch Tour on The HandleBar

• Wake up and hop on a Pedal Pub® tour.  Bring Your Own Bar® onto The HandleBar Pedal Pub ® and spend the first hour of the tour seeing the city while you play your own music and crack into a couple drinks
• Our BYOB policy is unprecedented so take advantage!  Some great examples are Mimosas, Beermosas or even just some ice cold seltzers
• You’ll be able to play your own music as we cruise past all of the iconic spots in Detroit (don’t worry we’ll also stop for pictures)
• Midway through the tour we’ll stop off for Brunch….

Brunch Idea #2: Hit the right spot for Brunch

• Don’t worry; you’re in good hands as we’ve got you covered for the brunch spot
• At Tin Roof you’ll have 1hr for brunch where you can sit inside or hit their rooftop and look out over 3 stories directly onto Comerica Park.  There is really no better view in the city.
• Saturdays are a 90’s theme and Sundays are a Millennial Best of the 2000’s so the DJ will definitely be making sure it’s not a stuffy scene.
• So what about the food / drink ?  They’ve got instagram worthy $20 buckets of 5 mini bottles of champagne that are perfect for mixing up mimosas.  Their food menu is legit as well

Brunch Idea #3: The After Party!

• We’ll be finishing the tour at Detroit Shipping Company,  which is an awesome spot to continue the party, if you so choose.
• Detroit Shipping Co. is a restaurant collective and beer garden featuring five unique food-truck style eateries, two full service bars, a coffee and ice cream shop, a small outdoor stage, galleries for local artists and retailers, and two private lounges. All constructed from refashioned shipping containers.  The outdoor space they have setup and vibe are hard to match and you’ll be finishing your brunch tour at 12:30pm, fashionably late to their brunch START, which begins at noon.
• They usually have music, cornhole in their courtyard, giant jenga and lots of fun things to do

Brunch Idea #4: Further Explore The City

Not huge into the after party or just want to do something a little more tame ? There are beautiful parks all over the city.  Take the opportunity to walk to one of the beautiful spaces all right downtown

• Campus Martius is absolutely gorgeous and located right in the middle of Woodward Ave downtown.  They have a beach , a  beach bar , a  fine dining restaurant , a  beautiful fountain  and an  open grassy area  that movies and events take place on.  Even if all you do is walk though it, we highly recommend stopping by Campus Martius Park.
• Across from Tin Roof is an awesome Dog Park , within Grand Circus Park.  Even if you don’t have a dog you can still hang and meet the pups that are there.  (We’ve definitely done this before, haha)

• The cost to visit any of these parks is FREE.  You can easily walk to every one of these parks in a single afternoon!  Get outside and enjoy the nice weather while it lasts!

Brunch Idea #5: Veteran Moves to Finish the Day

• Make sure to chug some Pedialyte (or water) once things start to wind down.  A true veteran will mix in waters throughout the day, but at least hydrate a couple hrs before bed.
• You started at 10am and had an absolute blast.  You’re cheating life!  Get to bed by 10pm so you can cash in on a great night’s sleep
• Wake up for Monday feeling totally refreshed because day drinking brunch partying is an absolute life hack!
