Biografie - let's dance.

Ob „Dancing With The Stars“ in den USA oder „Let’s Dance“ in Deutschland – Tanzshows mit prominenten Wettbewerbern sind international erfolgreich. Die Profi-Tänzer der deutschen Ausgabe samt der beliebten Jury-Mitglieder und einiger Top-Stars sind seit 2019 auch live auf Tour zu erleben.

Dem TV-Sender RTL ist mit „Let’s Dance“ ein Erfolgsformat gelungen, das jüngere und ältere Zuschauer gleichermaßen fesselt. Seit 2006 betreten jährlich Prominente aus TV, Film, Sport und Unterhaltung zusammen mit professionellen Tänzern und Tänzerinnen das Parkett der TV-Showbühne. Eine ebenfalls prominent besetzte Jury bewertet anschließend die dargebotenen Tänze. Durch die Sendung führen ebenso charmant wie schlagfertig Daniel Hartwich und Victoria Swarovski.

„Let’s Dance“ – Tanzshow mit Kultcharakter

Für viele ist es mittlerweile ein festes Ritual, „Let’s Dance“ im Fernsehen zu verfolgen. Die Zuschauer können den prominenten Teilnehmern dabei zusehen, wie sie gemeinsam mit ihrem professionellen Tanzpartner immer wieder neue Choreografien erlernen. Die körperlich intensive Vorbereitung, bei der viel Schweiß und auch mal Tränen fließen, wird als Einspieler in Ausschnitten gezeigt, bevor der einstudierte Tanz live vor dem Publikum und der Jury aufgeführt wird.

Zur Jury, die mittlerweile selbst Star-Status erreicht hat, gehören der durch Germany’s Next Topmodel bekannt gewordene und einstige Laufstegtrainer Jorge González, der deutsch-spanische ehemalige Turniertänzer und ausgebildete Wertungsrichter Joachim Llambi und die ehemalige Profi-Tänzerin Motsi Mabuse.

Jorge González zeichnet sich durch seinen unverwechselbaren kubanischen Akzent, seine Lebensfreude und seine wohlwollenden Urteile aus. Hingegen wird der stets sehr professionell auftretende Joachim Llambi aufgrund seiner oft gnadenlosen Bewertungen regelrecht gefürchtet. Zwischen den beiden Herren sitzt Motsi Mabuse, die mit ihrem einnehmenden Lachen und ihrer Zugewandtheit als Herz der Jury gilt.

Aus dem TV auf die Showbühne

Alle Fans der Sendung, die bisher kein Ticket für die „Let’s Dance“-Fernsehshow ergattern konnten, können sich auf das Format als Bühnen-Show in den großen Arenen Deutschlands freuen. Live vor Hallenpublikum führen die Profi-Tänzer mit ausgewählten Stars der aktuellen sowie vergangener Staffeln die beliebtesten Tanzchoreografien der TV-Show auf.

Innerhalb der Konzertarenen sind die Sitzplätze meist rund um die Bühne angeordnet. So können Zuschauer die Tanzpaare aus jeder Perspektive bewundern und ihre Favoriten anfeuern. Show-Effekte wie Pyrotechnik, Glitzer und Laserstrahlen untermalen die emotionalen Momente der Show. Wie auch in der Fernsehsendung führt der beliebte Moderator Daniel Hartwich durch das Programm. Die prominente Jury von „Let’s Dance“ ist auf der Tour ebenfalls live dabei und bewertet wie gewohnt die Tanzpaare.

Das Live-Event von „Let’s Dance“ ist die perfekte Veranstaltung für die ganze Familie. Kinder und Teenager werden von dem bunten Spektakel ebenso in den Bann gezogen wie Erwachsene. 2020 hat das Live-Format eine Pause einlegen müssen – umso mehr freuen sich Zuschauer und Teilnehmer gleichermaßen über die Fortsetzung der beliebten „Let’s Dance“-Shows.

Eine Bühnenshow voller Überraschungen

Das Publikum erlebt bei der „Let’s Dance“-Show die aus dem TV-Format bekannten Elemente und so einige Überraschungen hautnah. Sobald sich die Arena verdunkelt, können sich Zuschauer auf Highlights wie beispielsweise einen samt Tänzerin von der Decke schwebenden Kronleuchter freuen. Der Mix aus Musik, Tanz und raffinierten Show-Effekten sorgt für eine ausgelassene Stimmung, die von der Bühne direkt auf das Publikum überspringt. Die Bewertung und die abschließende Siegerehrung dürfen auch bei der Bühnenshow natürlich nicht fehlen und runden das mitreißende Live-Spektakel ab.

Es war der Wunsch unserer Tochter und wir hatten einen schönen Abend. Gut sehen konnte man die Tänzer allerdings nicht und der Abend hat sich sehr gezogen. Wir haben es jetzt einmal gesehen, würden aber nicht nochmal hingehen

Antonio Vílchez is a choreographer, percussionist and educator graduated in Arts and Pedagogy at the José María Arguedas National Superior School of Folklore in Peru.

Recognized as an innovative artist in 2014 by the UN magazine Americas Quarterly, he was invited to the ceremony to recognize El Cajón as a cultural heritage of the Americas, organized by the OAS.

In 2017 he was introduced as an artist who is “the future of tap” by Ms. Cornell at the 20th anniversary of “Tap Ahead” in Dusseldorf, Germany. Antonio’s art integrates traditional coastal dances from Peru, contemporary dance and tap. He is an important exponent of the diverse fusions characteristic of Peruvian art today, and of the search for Peruvian identity discovered through movement and fluidity.

FINDING INSPIRATION AT EVERY TURN

In 2021, Let’s Dance Portland was created to rebuild the dance community after the “COVID-19 experience to bring the joy and community of dance back more vital than ever.

Our philosophy is to offer Dance lessons, shared friendships, and an abundance of social dancing at every Let’s Dance event. We are bringing a new concept or idea to our community.

Let’s do it at NO cost to the public for the first month. 

Let’s advertise to NON-dancers so we can add to our dance community and offer a dance experience to the many local dancers in our community. 

A “novel” idea, huh!    Lessons and a dance….at NO cost for first-time guests!

Brad brings excitement, energy, determination, and innovation to any project. This includes Let’s Dance Portland. Brad began dancing 12 years ago when he met Robin Robinson, who gave him his first dance lesson. His passion for dance led him to start Let’s Dance Travel and now Let’s Dance Portland. As a real estate professional for Eaton Realty, Brad guides his clients through the buying or selling process. Eaton Realty Group is proud to be the Lead Sponsor of Let’s Dance Portland.

Brad and Michele met on the dance floor.  He proposed to Michele on their first dance cruise.  The following year, they created Let’s Dance Travel, which they successfully built into a 150-person dance cruise.  In September 2021, Brad created Let’s Dance Portland, the most well-attended Thursday dance event.

Michele Eaton

Michele began dancing in 2008.  She wanted to learn something new and began line dancing.  She found that in dance, you live in the moment and forget the world around you.  She recently began challenging herself by learning to be a leader. As part of the Leadership Team for Let’s Dance Portland, Michele is committed to helping everyone have a great experience on Thursday nights.  When not dancing, Michele enjoys her job with Eaton Realty Group helping buyers and sellers with their real estate needs. 

Robin Robinson

Dance Man Robin’s dance career started in 1990.  Since then, he has taught at the college level and numerous country and swing dance events across the country as well as internationally.  He has taught group lessons at local dance studios and bars, and his favorite place is Bushwhacker’s in Tualatin. An annual experience he dearly loves is teaching dance on the Let’s Dance Travel cruise every January. His favorite dances to teach are Hustle, Two Step, WCS, Night Club 2, Cha Cha, and East Coast Swing.  Robin enjoys teaching at all levels for our Thursday Let’s Dance Portland events.  Robin is also a retired college educator and former head baseball coach at Clackamas Community College. 

Clarinda Hanson White

A latecomer to dance, Clarinda is passionate about dance and the joy and beauty it brings. You will find her on the dance floor 3 to 4 nights a week. She believes that life is better with dance! She understands that her dance will take perseverance, patience, and practice. As part of the Leadership Team for Let’s Dance Portland, she loves hanging out with her dance family on Thursday nights. Professionally, Clarinda has worked as a consultant for nonprofits of all kinds and arts organizations since 1992.

Linda Jones

Linda began dancing in 1999.  She enjoys all types of swing dancing, but in particular, she loves to move to West Coast Swing, Hustle, and Night Club Two Step.  Dancing has brought friendships that have lasted for over two decades, makes her feel part of the dance community, and brings her much joy and smiles.  Since retiring as the VP of Operations and HR at Premier Community Bank… She can spend even more time dancing and volunteering for Let’s Dance Portland.
