A Corregidor Island tour in Manila

Not just one of the most important things to see in Manila, Corregidor Island is also one of the most important historical military sites in Asia.

As a tourist, it's possible to visit Corregidor Island, but you need to do a bit of planning to join one of the Corregidor Island tours. To help, I've put together this information.

  • The story of Corregidor Island in World War II
  • Things to see on Corregidor Island today
  • My tips for visiting Corregidor Island

Control this island, you control Manila. It’s a maxim that explains why Corregidor Island has always been considered so important – and why it was the scene of such heavy fighting in the Second World War, as the Japanese advanced on the Philippines.

Even when the soldiers knew the end was upon them, they never gave up. This small island had held out against some of the most determined attackers, against all odds. The soldiers had every reason to be proud and so they fought on.

The date was May 6, 1942 and it was the Americans (with the help of the Filipinos) who were fighting to protect Corregidor Island this time. I say ‘this time’ because Corregidor has changed hands many times over the centuries.

Why is Corregidor Island so important?

The position of Corregidor Island in Manila Bay makes it an extremely strategic island for anyone wanting to attack or defend Manila. For this reason, it was the scene of incredibly heavy fighting during the Second World War.

What is Corregidor Island today?

These days, Corregidor Island is a war memorial to the American and Filipino soldiers who died here. Many of the original buildings and military infrastructure have been left in ruins out of respect for those who fought on the island.

Can you visit Corregidor Island?

Corregidor Island is technically open to visitors, but it’s only accessible by private ferry. Since the pandemic, those ferry trips have been very limited, meaning it can be difficult to reach Corregidor Island sometimes.

This rock rising out of the water is situated at a strategic point of Manila Bay and is one of the most important defences for the capital of the Philippines. Whoever holds the island can control the maritime access to the country’s key port.

It’s for this reason that, during the Second World War, the Japanese were so intent on claiming it. It was the key to their planned conquest of the Pacific.

Corregidor Island in World War II

For months the Japanese bombarded the island, throwing everything they had at it.

From December 1941 until May, bombs rained down and large guns shot at Corregidor. Japanese aircraft flew more than 600 missions and dropped more than 1700 bombs. Meanwhile, the artillery pieces fired consistently.

It’s estimated that on the night of heaviest fire, more than 16,000 shells hit the island.

When the Japanese finally landed on Corregidor on the night of May 5, the men waiting for them fought back as best they could. They were terribly outnumbered, though, and were running low on resources. You can only imagine how weak they would have been too.

The months of attacks had meant they could hardly get any supplies. They were eating just 800 grams of food a day and drinking water just twice.

But they knew how important Corregidor was. They weren’t just fighting for their lives but, as far as they knew, for the future of the world.

In the end, the island fell to the Japanese. The commander sent a message to President Franklin Roosevelt:  “There is a limit of human endurance, and that point has long been passed” . The remaining Americans and Filipinos, waving white flags, surrendered.

The story of the island doesn’t end there. The Japanese, with control of Corregidor, were able to take Manila Bay. It was the finest port in the Far East and they used it to expand their advance. The overnight battle on this small island meant the fall of Asia.

The tide turned a few years later and Corregidor was retaken from the Japanese in February 1945. This was the last major military action it would see.

Since the Spanish first established a base on the island in 1570, it had also been taken – and held – by the Dutch, the British, the Americans, and the Japanese. But finally Corregidor Island was at peace.

Now, when you visit Corregidor Island, you’ll be able to trace much of this history. But being able to land here peacefully is relatively new in the site’s long history.

Things to see on Corregidor Island

Until recently, the island knew nothing but war, so it’s fitting that’s what you see when you visit. All across Corregidor are the ruins of the military base run by the Americans and Filipinos during the Second World War.

The buildings that were destroyed by bombs have been left that way and others, destroyed by time, have been secured but not rebuilt. The large bases for the guns are still there and, in many cases, the guns are too.

The barracks are just skeletons but they are evidence of the men who once lived here and the lives they led.

One of the most impressive things to see on Corregidor Island is the enormous tunnel complex inside a mountain.

The main tunnel, with entrances at each end, is 250 metres long and about 7 metres wide. 24 smaller tunnels of about 50 metres come off it in both directions.

Originally it was designed as bomb-proof storage but, when the Japanese siege became too much, it was used as a bunker, a hospital and a command centre.

It was from here inside Malinta Tunnel that General Douglas MacArthur had his headquarters and the President of the Philippines had his seat of government at one point.

Around the island are walking trails – and even bike trails – that allow you to explore the heritage that remains. These days, there’s also a fair bit of interesting flora and animal life to look out for.

Corregidor isn’t massive and you could walk around the whole thing on your own if you wanted, but there wouldn’t be time to do that and get the detailed visit with all the historical information that’s usually offered with a tour.

Visiting Corregidor Island

To get to Corregidor Island, you need to go by boat. However, there are no public transport options, so you’ll need to use a private ferry.

Unfortunately, since the coronavirus pandemic, the usual ferry operator has shut down and access to Corregidor Island has been fairly patchy, with limited information about what’s available.

Tours (including boat transfers) restarted in the middle of 2022, just on Saturdays and Sundays, but then stopped again.

The tours and transfers began again in January 2023, but they are only happening on specific days.

UPDATE MAY 2023: There are currently some tours going to Corregidor Island on the following dates – Monday 1 May, Saturday 6 May, Saturday 13 May, Saturday 20 May.

The tours cost 4500 php (U$80) and includes roundtrip boat transfers, island entrance fee, historical tram tour with guide, Malinta Tunnel light show, and a buffet lunch by the beach.

The boat leaves Manila at 06:00 and gets back at 16:30.

To book a spot, get in touch with Corregidor Foundation Inc on its website or by email: [email protected] .

It’s also possible you may be able to get a tour company in Manila that can arrange a boat to Corregidor Island, but I haven’t been able to find one. (Please drop me a note and let me know if you do know of one!)

Normally, when the boats are running regularly, most tourists book a tour package with the ferry company which includes ground transportation around the island.

If you want a bit of independence and a bit more time to explore, you also used to be able stay overnight in the hotel on the island. Many people who choose this option take the tour during the day and then have the evening and next morning to explore for themselves once the tourist groups have left.

It’s a very quiet place to spend time in. Far from hectic Manila, there’s just the wind in the trees and the lapping of the water on the shore. It’s hard to imagine how noisy and chaotic it must have been when the bombs were dropping and the guns shooting.

We should be thankful for the peace now but not forget the lives that were lost here and the heroism of those who held out for so long, determined to protect Corregidor against all odds.

A place of such pivotal wartime importance…so cool that you got that chance to see it in person. Great photos!

Yeah, I really didn’t know anything about it before I went so it was really interesting to learn all about how important it was during the Second World War. And, you’re right, seeing it in person really helps you to understand what the people based here would have gone through.

My grandfather was a part of the group of american soldiers taken POW here in 1942. I’d like to know if you could tell me more detail about what each photo represents? I’m just doing a bunch of research off the backend of his memoir from 1995. If you know anything about each photo’s contents more specifically it’d be awesome to know.

10 Days Do The Philippines Adventure Tour - Palawan Islands Tour

10 Days Do The Philippines Adventure Tour - Palawan Islands

I recently embarked on a 10-day tour to Palawan, Philippines, and I can confidently say that it was an absolute breathtaking experience! From the moment we arrived until the bittersweet farewell, and everything from the stunning landscapes to the warm hospitality of the locals made this trip truly unforgettable. Joining a group of fellow travellers only added to the incredible experience, as we formed lifelong friendships and shared unforgettable memories together. The moment we set foot on Palawan, we were greeted by a professional and friendly tour guide named Jovian who made us feel right at home. Jovain was very attentive, informed and participated enthusiastically in all the activities. He was full of laughter and ensured our safety, happiness and wellbeing was a priority. Jovian along with the other tour guides had exceptional professionalism and dedication. They were not only knowledgeable about the history, culture, and ecology of Palawan but also genuinely cared about our well-being and enjoyment. Their enthusiasm and passion for their homeland were infectious, and they made sure we experienced the true essence of Palawan and the nightlife. Our itinerary was meticulously planned, ensuring we made the most of every single day. From the crystal-clear turquoise waters to the lush green landscapes, every corner of this paradise seemed like it was plucked straight out of a postcard. We explored the enchanting underground river in Puerto Princesa to unwinding on the pristine beaches of El Nido and its hidden lagoons, every activity was filled with awe and wonder. We stayed in a variety of accommodations, ranging from cozy beachfront tents and huts to cozy resorts, each offering its own unique charm. The staff at every location were warm, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. Although the company could do a few more improvements in the choice of accomodations. One of the highlights of this tour was the delicious local cuisine. From indulging in fresh seafood feasts to savoring traditional Filipino dishes, our taste buds were constantly delighted. Our guides introduced us to local delicacies such as adobo, sisig and lechon. In conclusion, my 10-day tour to Palawan, Philippines, was an absolute 5-star adventure. The stunning natural beauty, incredible accommodations, mouthwatering cuisine, and the bonds formed with fellow travelers made this journey truly unforgettable. If you're seeking a paradise getaway filled with adventure, relaxation, and lifelong memories, I wholeheartedly recommend embarking on a tour to Palawan. You won't be disappointed!

What people love about luzon island tours from manila.

Loved this tour! Was the perfect mix of activities and group time and relaxation / solo time. The 2 day island hopping with overnight stay on the remote island is one of the best experiences I’ve ever had! Our tour guide cece was amazing too and made it really fun and involved everyone. Best snorkelling I’ve ever done too! Definitely recommending to friends and will be booking another one life tour in the future
This tour was by far one of the most amazing experiences of my life. This was my first time travelling to a Southeast Asian country by myself but I felt safe and welcomed the entire time. I enjoyed observing beautiful rice terraces, meeting friendly village people, and learning lots about Ifugao culture from my tour guide. The opportunity to stay in a guest house in one of the small villages gave me the chance to truly appreciate the simplistic life of the village people. My tour guide, Marvin Bunaton was a wonderful guide to have. He gave me lots of valuable information about Ifugao culture and made sure I was safe the entire time. I am very lucky to have had him as a tour guide. I recommend this trip to everyone who loves hiking and beautiful sceneries! If I ever come back to the Philippines, I will bring my loved ones and do this tour all over again!

You can meet your tour guide upon your arrival at incheon airport. you can fly to jeju via a domestic flight. on arrival in jeju, your welcome is marked by a visit to the famous dragon head-shaped yongduam rock., mysterious road is a place where you can literally defy gravity. it is a part of the dokkaebi road because objects such as car tend to travel downwards on a road that is travelling upwards. this road is just actually one of those magnetic hills scattered around the world. it appears that there is a slight downhill slope that seems to be upward due to its surroundings being at a high altitude. this creates an optical illusion where objects passing through roll uphill., love land is a park that allows only those of legal age to enter. the reason for this is due to the thematic nature of the park, which is centered on sexuality and eroticism. the park is filled with sculptures and infrastructure modelled after human genitalia. students from the nearby art university created the sculptures for their class. the park opened in 2004. the park’s official site introduces the park as “a place where love oriented art and eroticism meet.”, the story behind the park is a rather quaint one. in the 1970s, jeju was a popular destination for newlywed couples. as a result, the island became a center for sex education. some employees in the hotels, according to simon winchester, would act as “professional icebreakers.” in the evenings a program featuring erotic elements would be held as entertainment to honeymooning couples., after a busy day, check in your hotel to rest., day two:   seongsan sunrise peak, visit the amazing seongsan sunrise peak after your breakfast in the hotel. seongsan sunrise peak is an archetypal tuff cone that had been formed by hydrovolcanic eruptions under the sea a thousand years ago; it is located in jeju. from the peak, you can get a dramatic view of the island. there is a paved stairway you can find by the edge; the journey to getting to the peak might be perilous, but worth it due to the view from the summit. the peak makes a good place where to get photos; from one of the nearby cones, you can take the opportunity there to watch the women divers swim from afar., seongsan sunrise peak is considered a living unesco heritage site. it is recommended that the best time to go on the challenging hike to its summit would be during the daytime, especially to see the sun rise., proceed to chongjiyeon falls and hello kitty island., the name of the falls means “sky connected with land.” rare plants like brambles and songyeopnan are aplenty in the falls. camellias and chinese lemon trees abound in the forest. the forest is designated as the natural monument no. 63. the falls and the water, designated as natural monument no. 58, also serve as a habitat for the mutae eel, which is said to glow in the night., hello kitty island is a hall themed after hello kitty. the hall features various informative exhibits like the hello kitty history hall. for those who tend to get hungry easily, you can get food at the hello kitty cafe, where you can find hello kitty on your latte – or even the shape of her head on your waffle. before leaving the premises of the hello kitty island, don’t forget to stop by the gift shop., after this activity-filled day, eat dinner and check in your hotel., day three: gyeonggi.

  • Hundred Islands Tour Package

The Hundred Islands national park is slowly recovering from the disastrous typhoon which hit the Pangasinan province in 2003. Tourism to the area took a major hit, even though the beautiful islands remained relatively unscathed. Luckily, this beautiful place is blooming again – hotels are springing up and tours become more frequent.

Only 5 hours away from Manila, the 100 islands tour is one of the nicer getaways from the city. Day tours are not ideal, and it’s better to book an overnight package. All of our hundred islands tour packages include transfers, hotels and resorts, as well as personally designed tours and attractions . The hundred island is an amazing attraction, perfect for couples, families and small groups. The area offer a mix of attractions and your whole tour package would be very reasonably priced.

Hundred islands panoramic view

Tour B is more adventurous and suitable for families with teenagers or groups of young friends. It visits: Quezon, Marcos, Lopez, Clave, Old Scout, Macapagal and Bat Islands. Not only that you’re going to enjoy less crowded beaches and waters, you’ll also get to cliff jump inside a cave on Marcos Island, and do some bat and bird watching around Bat Island.

Best Hundred Islands Packages

Hundred islands viewdeck

The hotels we work with are reasonably priced, and are very close to the pier, where there are a few restaurants and bars, as well as a coffee shop. They provide excellent service, clean and serve you breakfast before you leave to your tours. If you wish to book our packages and stay elsewhere please mention it while you send us your inquiry. For higher standards and all inclusive hotels, you should spend the night in Clark or Tarlac and get to Pangasinan in the early morning.

A visit to Alaminos can never be complete without a tour to the Hundred Islands National Park, so naturally all of our packages include it, even the short 1 night stay package. Even though you’ll stay for a short while, you’ll have enough time for the island hopping day tour and have a wonderful experience. However, if you’re after the full Pangasinan experience, our 2 nights and 3 days packages are the better choice.

Hundred islands Marcos Beach

The Deluxe Package we offer is the same as the 2 nights package, but with a private new Toyota Grandia, that will escort you throughout the vacation. We’ll also take care of your lunch arrangements, and through you a lunch buffet during your island hopping tour, and a boodle fight lunch during your Bolinao tour. For larger groups coasters and buses will be arranged.

Pangasinan Travel Essentials:

  • Location : Alaminos Municipality, Pangasinan province
  • Flights : Non available – take a flight to Manila or Clark, then proceed by bus.
  • Bus : Manila buses leave from Cubao and Pasay and take betwen 5-6 hours to get there
  • Best time to visit : During the dry season – January to May
  • Attractions : Island hopping, snorkeling, kayaking, local foods, caves.

How to get there?

There’s no airport serving Pangasinan, and the only way to reach is by taking a bus. Five Star and Victory Liner are the two bus companies that run the route from Manila , with buses leaving from the Pasay or Cubao terminals every 20 minutes or so. The bus ride takes between 5 and 6 hours, depending on traffic. Both lines offer a stop at Tarlac, so it’s very possible to add the Mt. Pinatubo day tour to your package.

There’s a night bus leaving at midnight – the best option for those who wish to visit the Hundred Islands on a day tour. You’ll arrive there at 5 AM, just in time to watch the spectacular sunrise over the bay. It might be a long day, but if you only wish to visit the islands then it’s a solid option.

Another option is to grab a Victory Liner bus at Baguio , on your way to or from any of the popular North Luzon destinations, such as Ilocos or Sagada. The bus from Baguio is headed for Dagupan and stops at Alaminos – It’ll take you 3 hours to get there. This sidetrip isn’t the most efficient, but it is possible, so if it works with your general travel plans let us know and we’ll work something out.

You can take a private van for all these trips if you prefer to, but it will be expensive. Pangasinan isn’t as popular among locals as it used to be, so services are not well developed. One option could be to take a van to Tarlac and catch the bus from there – that way you cut half of the bus ride for the comfort of a spacious van.

What to do in Pangasinan?

Our Hundred Islands tour package covers all the main attractions in the area. There are 123 island and islets to explore, and island hopping tours are fully customizable. It’s better to plan ahead, but you can also speak to the tour operators once there. They’ll help you plan an itinerary packed with adventure and beautiful sights.

Other than that, there a few other things to do around the province. If you decide they are worth your time, update in advance and we’ll help you plan an itinerary. If you can afford to spend more than a day there, it’s probably better to take two different island hopping tours than searching for activities in Bolinao and Dagupan.

The three main Islands – a cornerstone in most island hopping tours

hundred islands family package

Governor’s island is the first of the main islands and it stands out for two main reasons. It’s the only island offering accommodation to its visitors – a lodge can be rented for 100$ a night. Secondly, the island also provides the only vantage point, from which you can enjoy a panoramic view of the whole area.

It’s a long 250 steps climb to the top, but it’s worth it for the spectacular view. Once you get there – you’ll understand why the long trip from Manila was worth it. If you wish to sleep on the island, let us know in advance since availability is limited. Otherwise, you can always set camp at one of the island’s beaches instead.

The second popular island is Children’s Island – which is probably the best location for families . Its shallow waters and clean beaches are the perfect playground for children, while adults can bask in the sun and relax. The island also has some picnic tables you can rent for the day, and cottages are available for overnight stays.

Lastly, there’s Quezon Island – the best place to go snorkeling. It’s also another great place for families, as its shallow waters are teeming with marine life. Quezon island has the most developed camping areas – so if you wish to spend the night in a tent this is the best place to do so. Snorkeling gear can be rented for 200 Pesos, so there’s no need to bring it.

Hundred Islands Hidden Gems and Secret attractions

For those of you who prefer nature and wildlife, the northern parts of the park are the place to go. This is where you can meet some of the most exotic inhabitants of the Hundred islands. Above all, make sure you visit Monkey Island – if you are lucky enough you might catch one of the shy monkeys who live there. The island is also a great place for snorkeling, kayaking and swimming. The only downside is this island doesn’t have a real beach to lay at.

Just near to Monkey Island is Century island, which is a great place to hike in nature. This location is famous for its high dome cave which features beautiful rock formations and houses a large population of bats and snakes. If bats are your thing, why not visit Bat island as well? It’s right next to Governor’s island and known as the best place to watch these creatures, even during daytime.

Another great place which isn’t far from Governor’s island is Virgin island. This place has white beaches and a relaxing atmosphere, with 2 interesting twists that turn the whole experience into a wild adventure. You can reach the island by using a 546 meters long zipline from the peak of Governor’s island – the longest zipline in the Philippines. Secondly, there’s a helmet diving site nearby – where you put on a helmet and walk on the ocean floor. It’s not as exciting as Boracay’s helmet diving , but still a really fun activity.

For private beaches on smaller islands away from the tourists, there are 2 which are highly recommended. Romulo Island is nothing more than a white sand beach, while Cuenco Island is slightly bigger and also has a nice cave you can explore.

Lastly, there’s Marcos Island – one of the most special places to visit during your time here. It’s a great island which offers all the standrard attractions, as well as a unique cave called Imelda Cave. You’ll go through a hole and into a a stunning cave with a deep swimming pool at its bottom. You can jump into the pool from cliff diving platforms at varying heights – between 12 and 20 feet (3.5 to 6 meters).

Other Pangasinan Attractions and Activities

Hundred islands island hopping tour

If your’e looking to spend a night near the beach, Bolinao is the best choice. This is where the best beach resorts are found, and it’s close enough to Lucap Wharf, from which tours to the Hundred Island depart. On top of that, you could visit the Bolinao enchanted cave, a stunning underwater cave with a natural spring pool in it. Visiting the swimming pool could be a really refreshing end to a long day of island hopping outdoors.

Other great beach locations are Anda and Dasol. At Anda you can snorkel and kayak, and the beach itself is very nice. Another recommended activity is the boat ride to nearby Coral island – one of the best diving spots around. Dasol, on the other hand, is on the opposite side of the Hundred Islands, nearly an hour drive away.

You can do a completely different island hopping tour here, with the main advantage being you’ll get to avoid the crowded tourists spots. Alternatively, you can just stop by Labrador – it’s between Alaminos and Dagupan and only a short drive away for either. Not much to do over there, but the beaches are amazing.

For those who wish to combine some mainland attractions with their island hopping and beach bummin’ tours, the best choice is Bolinao. There are no less than 3 different waterfalls along the Bolinao river – appropriately named Bolinao Falls 1,2 and 3. The first one is the impressive, but they are each worth a visit and they all have a nice swimming pool you can have fun in. Combine that with a visit to the enchancted cave and you are all set for a day full of adventure.

How do the Hundred Island Fit into my travel plans?

The hundred Islands at Pangasinan offer one of the best island hopping experiences in the Philippines. Being so close to Manila and providing cheap accommodation are huge advantages as well. It’s a great destination for large groups and families, who prefer to save on expenses and will likely spend most of their days outdoors anyway.

Taking the Hundred Islands package can be done in several ways. First, you can always visit it as a day tour out of Manila – you’ll have to leave the city at midnight and take the night bus, but the upside is you’ll witness the beautiful sunrise in Alaminos. Another option is booking an overnight tour package, allowing you to explore the area more throughly. Lastly, one of our most popular packages is the 3d2n tour of Pangasinan and Mt.Pinatubo – allowing you to visit 2 of the most special places in Luzon island, and experience each of them fully.

We will mail you soon with an offer, price varies based on the hotel you choose.

Our 100 islands tour will be after holy week (April 2018). We prefer to take the bus from cubao, q.c. For 2 days 1 night only and a family of 6 (2 seniors & a kid 5 yo). Kindly quote your package price tour plus accommodation to start upon arrival to alaminos city bus terminal. Thanks!

Hi Charlie and thanks for the detailed info!

Arriving independently to Alaminos is definitely possible and would of course make the package price much lower. Just please keep in mind the bus ride takes between 5-6 hours.

Sorry for the late response due to weekend… We will email you tomorrow morning (Sunday) with a quote.

My family would like to explore Hundred Islands’ main islands and the historical places of Alaminos or Bolinao but we can only stay for two-three days, tentatively on December 27-29. We don’t have much qualms to stay in simple transient homes because we will just sleep there. We will appreciate to know if you can help us plan our trip that can be good both for young adults and two adults in their early 60s. We are also open to hire a van for ride-sharing in doing inner tours. Hoping to hear from you soon.

Hi Tabiana and thank you for leaving a comment.

Everything you have requested is possible, but please kindly fill in our inquiry form so we have all the necessary details.

Once you do, one of our agents will contact you with an offer on the same day.

Maylene Tan

how much is the Day tour island hopping? and when will be the best months as of now?

Hi May and thanks for the good questions.

1) The exact rate depends on how many people you are. Each person has to pay 80 pesos in fees and then you need to all pay 1400 for the boat.

2) The seasons is pretty much same as in Manila and other areas of Luzon, so now isn’t the best time to go. If you can delay until November / December it would be better.

Good mornig. I am planning a time table and there are two days wish to go huandard island and baquio please let me know your email and I will send you my require.

You can find our email at our contact us page .

Looking forward to hearing from you!

We ‘ve got the 3 days expedition with Tribe Banua’s Mike team . We sailed from El Nido to Coron passing through breathtaking islands. You see better spots respect to the usual island hopping tours, cleaner and emptier , but you have to be ready for adventure. Food by Rowee was truly delicious and abundant , the crew was knowledgeable, fun and sweet. Highly recommended

Guide to the Philippines has really helped me to get around Palawan, and always making sure if I was comfortable. That was really nice! Hotels -Hue hotel was perfect! Very nice and comfortable, and great styling. The food was super, and the staff nice. The breakfast options were amazing!!! -For the budget option i was supposed to have another hotel, but because it was so busy, I had to switch to Marianne hotel. A hotel that is not finished yet, and still under construction, so no pool and quite some noise and building site smells. Room was all right, but the cleaning could have been better (water stains on mirror and such). Breakfast was not so good, the second day I even chose to have it somewhere else. Transport The transport was arranged perfectly! Nice drivers and on time. Tours - underground river was amazing! Otherworldly! We were lucky because of the weather, other ones were canceled. Lunch was ok. Apparently people could choose an add on to this tour, and go ziplining. Some chose to do this, resulting in having to wait for quite a while. Could have done without that, -honda bay tour was super! The lunch they prepared was absolutely lovely, and the guide took well care of us. We saw some lovely islands and beautiful beaches! Good atmosphere! - Tour C El Nido : i was supposed to be on another tour but in all confusion, i ender up on this one. It was too crowded, and the boat with 30 capacity had 43 tourists on it. After asking, they had to get extra life jackets from another boat. It was not comfortable with so many people on the boat and on the islands. It really was mass tourism, but at least I saw the beautiful nature! All in all, I am very happy I had the help of Guide to the Philippines and would definitely book again! But no more El Nido! Thank you!

Notice of itinerary change arrived the day before our tour started! Despite having booked and paid 2 months previous, island flights had not been booked. This meant two boat tours on successive days, no rest day and first destination cut short. Too long at the following hotel ( which had a bad drain smell) and a late flight to Manila , this meant hanging around and then arriving 8pm in the dark. Extremely unprofessional. We asked for assistance to book four days following our island tour, a reservation was made and cancelled on our way back to Manila, we made our own reservation. The on site agents were polite and punctual. The weather was nice.
