Rooms are laid out as air-conditioned chalets, which offer privacy, space and comfort. Each double room has two double beds, en-suite bathroom with WC, bath and shower, desk, comfortable chairs and a veranda overlooking the bushveld. All rooms have telephone and TV facilities. Parking directly in front of the rooms. Well-kept garden and large swimming pool. Bar and superb cuisine served in the A-La-Carte-Restaurant.

Otjibamba nestles within its own private game ranch which harbours game species such as giraffe, zebra, eland, Oryx, kudu, ostrich and others. Visitors can either drive through the park or explore one of the marked walking trails.

The Nest Self-Catering Holiday

The Nest is a fully equipped Self-Catering Holiday Cottage, situated privately in the bush-area about 3.5km from the main lodge (Eagles Rest)An illuminated waterhole makes sure you won’t miss the thirsty wildlife through the night and you can enjoy the beautiful bird life around this waterhole. This self-catering unit provides sleeping facilities for up to 12 people, 3 spacious bedrooms with double or twin beds and two sleeper couches per room.  With an open-plan kitchen and lounge. Ideal accommodation for a group of friends or a family. A cozy swimming pool with a BBQ area, surrounded by big trees gives you the refreshing relaxation you need after a long, warm African day.All guest must check in at the main lodge and get direction to the Nest. No self-driving is allowed. Game drives can also be booked at reception. 

Otjiwa Safari Lodge is one of the oldest private game farms in Namibia, which offers about 25 different game species, such as giraffes, zebra, springbuck and mainly the white Rhino, and if you are lucky enough, you will also spot a leopard roaming its freedom. Otjiwa is 12,000 hectares in total and have up to 21 water dams, each with its own natural habitat and bird life. To enjoy Otjiwa to its full potential we offer the following:

Horseback riding

Experience nature at your feet with this adventurous activity. Our horses are specially trained by our professionals and you will get to experience Namibian nature. Our horseback riding is suitable for beginners and older children. Your horseback experience will be about one hour, with our guide. On your trip you will receive  homemade snacks and water.Bookings can be made in advance or upon check-in. Maximum 4 pax per trip. 

Ombu Village tours

With this culture rich activity you can expect the following: You will be transported with Otjiwa guides and vechiles to the Ombu Village location. Here you will be greeted with the friendly staff of the Ombu Village. They will take you through a historical tour from how architecture, culture and traditions formed during the centuries. You will learn about their believe systems, customs and traditions, marriage and economic systems. Guest are encouraged to engage, touch and feel during the tour. This activity includes experiencing some of the following: Milk churningMilking cowsHoly fire ritualsDressing in traditional dresses

We offer guided cycling to guest that would love to experience nature directly. We do not offer bicycles to rent, guest would have to bring their own gear. A minimum of two cyclists are needed for this activity. It’s important to pre-book this activity.

Sundowner Game Drive

You can expect to see most of the game that Otjiwa has to offer. Ranging from the national small Springbok to our biggest White Rhino. The sundowner game drives are about 2 hours long, where you will pass a few of the 22 water dams, each with its own beauty and natural bird habitats. At the end of your sundowner game drive you will be taken to one of the hills on the private reserve, where your eyes can feast on Namibia’s famous sunsets, while enjoying a picnic basket with some refreshments. (*Picnic basket only included in the SUNDOWNER game drive, not the normal game drive)

With all that Otjiwa has to offer, you can definitely enjoy it on foot. From the smallest insects to the largest antelope, walking through nature will definitely show you all its secrets. With our guides knowing nature like the back of their hands, they can tell you all there is to know about the Namibian wildlife. 

Rhino Tracking

With Rhino tracking we have a well-trained guide that tracks the Rhino’s by vehicle and then once spotted, the guide will take you closer on foot. If you are looking for an adrenaline rush experience, this is definitely it. Coming up close to such a spectacular animal will truly let the blood rush through your veins. 

Night Drive

With this activity you are more likely to find small predators and night animals. At night all the shy and small predators will come out, and maybe even a large leopard will show its appearance. Night drives will take place after dinner and with a cozy blanket and the fresh Namibian air, you can be sure to enjoy this outing.

Okonjima Plains Camp

With mountain views, Okonjima Plains Camp is located in Otjiwarongo and has a restaurant, a shared lounge, bar, garden, year-round outdoor pool and terrace. The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge.

Outstanding staff in all departments. Meals were unbelievably delicious whether it was the choice of game meat, chicken or vegetarian. Breakfast was excellent as well. Accommodation was very spacious and beautifully decorated. The staff catered to your every need and made you feel at home. We went in a successful leopard safari and were lucky enough to spot 3 leopards separately and spent quite some time viewing one up close.

Aloegrove Safari Lodge

Offering an outdoor pool, barbecue and sun terrace, Aloegrove Safari Lodge is located 40 km away from Otjiwarongo. The Waterberg Plateau National Park is a two-hour drive away, while Etosha National Park is a three-hour drive from Aloegrove Safari Lodge .

Frans Indongo Lodge

Frans Indongo Lodge is located between Otjiwarongo and Otavi. The lodge offers a lush garden and and an outdoor pool. The en suite rooms at Frans Indongo Lodge include a terrace, a flat-screen satellite TV, as well as air conditioning. The beds are draped with mosquito net and the room is equipped with tea-and-coffee making facilities.

Set in Otjiwarongo, Cheetah View Lodge offers free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a garden, a terrace and a restaurant. Otjiwarongo Crocodile Ranch is 34 km from the lodge , while Otjiwarongo Railway Station is 35 km away.

Really remote with a beautifull views and night sky, and cheetahs, of course :) The lodge rooms were very comfortable

Featuring a swimming pool, a lounge and bar and a number of hiking and mountain biking trails, Otjiwa Safari Lodge is situated 30 minutes’ drive from Otjiwarongo on a game farm with 25 game species. The lodge offers modern rooms and self-catering chalets . All rooms come with an en suite bathroom with bath, and the chalets include a lounge, a dining area and a fully-equipped kitchen.

The newly renovated lodge was much better than anticipated and as rated. We can certainly recommend the lodge, especially the cottages which are much bigger than stated at booking.com. Food was the best we had in Namibia. Most staff were very responsive and friendly.
