With our meet and greet service, the tour begins from the moment you arrive in Paris . You will be welcomed at Charles de Gaulle Airport, Orly Airport or Gare du Nord (for Eurostar train arrivals) by a representative carrying a Paris Magical Tours sign before being chauffeur driven to your destination for the tour. Following the tour you can be returned to a central Paris hotel or if on a layover, back to the airport or train station to continue with your journey.

Simply choose from any one of our Paris Tours , including our visits to the Palace of Versailles and Disneyland Paris, all of which are available as a layover option.

The terminals at Charles de Gaulle Airport are numbered 1, 2 and 3, with Terminal 2 being subdivided into a complex of seven sub terminals lettered A through to G.

Tours from Orly Airport Collection is available directly from your terminal of arrival and return to your departure terminal at the end of the tour. The terminals at Orly Airport are called South or West.

Tour from Charles de Gaulle Airport to Orly Airport (or vice-versa) Tours are also available if you have a mixed airport layover, that is where you arrive at one airport and depart from another. Collection is also directly from your arrival terminal at one airport and return to your departure terminal at the other following your tour.

Tours from Eurostar Gare Du Nord Eurostar trains to/from London and the rest of Europe arrive at Gare du Nord Station. As a guideline, allow 10 minutes to clear Immigration and Customs on arrival. Check in time for trains to Europe is approx. 1 hour before the scheduled departure time.

IMMIGRATION AND LUGGAGE

How it works in CDG?

Charles de gaulle (cdg) airport - terminal 2c meeting point.

Charles de Gaulle is the largest airport in France, it has three terminals T1, T2 and T3 interconnected by bus shuttles and CDGVAL shuttle train. The Terminal 2 is the largest one, it is divided into seven sections: 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, 2E, 2F and 2G. When you get off the plain in the Charles de Gaulle airport you get into security area and you have to respect the next sequence: 1. passport control, 2. luggage delivery, 3. you leave the security area, it is the same sequence in all CDG terminals.

On the left picture you see an exit from the luggage claim security area in Terminal 2C. Each terminal has only one such exit, except terminal 2D that has two exits 1 and 2. These exits are the meeting points for arriving travellers and their drivers.

Charles de Gaulle airport - terminal 2E meeting point

How it works in orly, orly airport (ory) - terminal west - arrival exit n° 1.

Orly is the second by size airport in France, it has two terminals: South (Sud) and West (Ouest). Terminal West is larger one and more modern than South terminal, it has five Arrival exits: 01, 02, 03-04 and 05. For international flights after you get off the plane you get into security area and you have to respect same sequence as in CDG airport:

1. passport control, 2. luggage delivery, 3. finally you leave the security area, but be aware that for intra European flights there is no passport control and luggage claim is situated out of security area.

On the left picture you see the exit N° 1 from the security luggage claim area in Terminal West. Terminal West has five such exits.  These exits are the meeting points for arriving travellers and their drivers.

Orly airport - terminal West - intra European arrival exit N° 2

They are reliable, their rates are reasonable. The drivers are professional. They will wait for a delayed flight. Communication is clear, you know who the driver will be. For me, as a solo traveler, it takes away all the anxiety of arrival and finding that reliable ride. I've used their services in Rome, Nice and Paris. Read more Written April 26, 2024

Finding trains and metros were way too much hassle. The driver found us easily and we didn’t have to worry about the terrible traffic. It is a fixed price. We took it back to the airport at the end of our trip too. The drivers both spoke English. Read more Written April 4, 2024

  • lolaland 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Private Airport Transfer from Paris to CDG airport I booked a private transfer for my daughter from her hostel in the 14th arrondissement to CDG, she is under 18 and this would be her first solo car/air travel, her driver Asim Hassan Saeed speaks perfect English, was courteous, reliable, and very kind. He arrived 15minutes ahead of time, shared his location with me so I knew how they progress in the traffic, once he dropped off my daughter at the terminal, he immediately texted to let me know all went well. This is definitely one of the best experiences we have ever had with private transfer, I would not hesitate to book with Welcome Pickups again, and highly recommend both the company and Asim Hassan Saeed to anyone looking for a safe and reliable car transfer service in Paris. • EthioJayhawk 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Infuriating welcome I was asking the driver to wait for me because my flight was delayed and my luggage was not coming out. My luggage came out one minute after the deadline. Without saying a word, he just left me hanging. What an infuriating way to begin my one day in Paris before business meetings. after one hour of chatting with customer service, this solution was just to send me links to their policies. From this experience, I concluded it is better to hire an Uber. It is cheaper, comfortable, green, and there is no risk of losing all your money for being a minute late. • ldnyc2019 0 contributions 4.0 of 5 bubbles Got the job done I used Welcome Pickups in two different cities on my recent Europe trip, including in Paris. In both instances, the drivers were there on time. Neither were holding a sign with my name - I had to call them and find them, which took the convenience down a touch. But overall, the drivers were good and it seemed like a reliable-enough service that I wouldn't hesitate to use them again in the future. Read more Written January 21, 2024

Paris City Bus Tours

Paris City Bus Tours

Paris has several tour bus operators . The most renowned are OpenTour, Big Bus Paris and Foxity Sightseeing Tour. Find in-depth information about what each company offers and choose the best option.

All sightseeing buses in Paris are open-top double-deckers and include an audio guide in English .

We provide you with information on each of the different tour bus operators so you can choose which one you prefer:

Paris OpenTour

The OpenTour bus is yellow and blue and allows its passengers to hop off and hop on as many times as they want during the validity of their ticket.

OpenTour Paris, itinerarios

Paris OpenTour has three different routes with over 34 stops and passengers can choose any of these 3 lines and combine them without any problem.

  • Blue line : Rides past the top landmarks of Paris, like the Louvre Museum, Champs-Élysées, Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame Cathedral, Les Invalides…
  • White line : Travels down the left bank of the River Seine. It passes by the Catacombs of Paris, Boulevard Montparnasse, St. Germain-des-Prés, and the Pont Neuf, among others.
  • Red line : This line includes the main attractions on the right side of the Seine, like the Moulin Rouge, Montmartre , and République, among others.

Schedule & timetable

The routes and schedules of the OpenTour buses vary depending on the route and time of year . Between April and October, buses run from 9:30 am to 8 pm approximately and from November to March from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm. The frequency also varies, ranging from 10 – 30 minutes.

Adults with a Paris Visite  travel card have a € 4 ( US$ 4.30) discount for the 1-day Open Tour and children under 4 travel for free. Those who want to combine the Batobus  with an OpenTour bus tour can purchase a special rate for a 2-day pass for both means of transport.

Big Bus Paris

Big Bus Paris (used to be called Les Cars Rouges) is the oldest tour bus operator in Paris. These buses are red , as the name used to suggest.

Paris is extremely well-lit up at night and it's worth discovering the city after dusk. This is why the Big Bus operator includes a tour of Paris at this time of day when visitors will be able to see the main monuments illuminated.

Big Bus Paris has one line that takes a little over two hours with eleven stops . Passengers can hop off and hop on at any of the following stops:

Itinerario de Big Bus Paris

  • Eiffel Tower
  • Champs de Mars
  • Notre Dame Cathedral
  • Musée d'Orsay
  • Opéra Garnier
  • Arc de Triomphe
  • Grand Palais

The Big Bus Paris schedule is approximately from 9:30 am to 8:15 pm . However, it depends a lot on each stop. The last bus passes by the Louvre Museum or Notre Dame at 6:25 pm. The frequency varies between 10 and 20 minutes , depending on the time of year.

For your convenience, you can purchase tickets online here .

Foxity Sightseeing Tour

Foxity Sightseeing Tour was the last tour bus to arrive in Paris. At first, this company only included a bus tour without having the hop-on, hop-off option. However, due to pressure from tourists, it now allows its passengers to hop on and off.

Foxity also organizes night tours.

Itinerario del Foxity Sightseeing Tour

The buses leave from the Eiffel Tower and its itinerary is very similar to the Big Bus Paris one.

The timetable varies depending on the time of year. We recommend checking the times on their webpage .

The ticket price is 42 EUR for adults ( € 49 ( US$ 52.50) for 2 days) . For children between 4 and 12 ticket price, is 23 EUR ( € 28 ( US$ 30) for 2 days) , and children under 4 years old take the tour for free.

Which tour bus to choose?

All of the above companies offer very similar services , although we recommend Paris OpenTour , as it has more routes and more stops, and therefore offers a more complete tour.

Paris International Airport (CDG) Charles de Gaulle

Paris Airport Shuttle Bus

Paris International Airport (CDG) › Transportation › Shuttle & Bus

Shuttles and Buses from and to Paris Airport

Numerous bus lines link Charles de Gaulle Airport to Paris city center and its suburbs. Mostly local bus lines (as the more luxurious Le Bus Direct no longer serves the airport) handle public transfers from and to the main airport in Paris at affordable prices. What’s more, long-distance coaches leave the airport with other French or international foreign cities as their destinations.

Our tip : Besides the urban and long-distance buses, Roissy Airport has an internal airport shuttle network as well. Thus, N1 and N2 buses handle complimentary transfers between the T2 sub-terminals, while color-coded shuttles provide transfers between terminals. Additionally, black, pink, and blue hotel shuttle buses connect the airport with the close-by hotels.

The Most Popular Paris Airport Shuttle: RoissyBus

RoissyBus is the RATP bus linking Roissy CDG to Opéra in the Paris city center. The bus runs on a daily basis – including Sundays and public holidays – from 06:00 am to 00:30 am with 15-20-minute itineraries. The journey from Paris Airport to Opéra lasts about 60 minutes, depending on the traffic conditions, while the airport bus stops for RoissyBus lie at:

  • Exit 32 of the T1 Arrivals level
  • Exit 9 located at T2A, for T2A/T2C
  • Exit 11 located at T2D, for T2B/T2D
  • the Bus Station (Exit 8 at Arrivals level), for T2E/T2F
  • the Roissypôle Bus Station, for T3

Our tip: RoissyBus luggage storage space is limited, and the bus often gets crowded.

The Local RATP Buses at Charles de Gaulle Airport

Besides RoissyBus, two more bus lines transfer CDG passengers to the city of Paris. Explicitly:

  • The local Bus 350

Bus Line 350 handles routes between CDG Airport and Porte de la Chapelle. Running daily (even on holidays), the bus leaves the airport from 06:05 am to 10:30 pm with a 15-30-minute frequency, making a lot of intermediate stops. Thus, its journey lasts about 70 minutes. Please note that the bus has no designated luggage areas.

  • The local Bus 351

The local Bus 351 departs from CDG Airport from 07:00 am to 09:37 pm every 15-30 minutes and reaches Paris Nation (its terminus) in about 80 minutes. Unfortunately, those buses don’t have adequate storage space and stop at various in-between destinations, raising the total journey time.

Both buses stop at T1 (Exit 32), T2A/C (Exit 9 of T2A), T2B/D (Exit 11 of T2D), Gare TGV/SNCF and Roissypôle Bus Station (Gare Routière).

Our tip 1 : Please note that 350 and 351 timetable changes during summer and school holidays.

Our tip 2 : If you want to reach Torcy Station, lying in the East Paris suburbs, you can use the Bus Line Seine et Marne Express 19. The bus leaves from Roissypôle RER every 30-60 minutes and needs one hour to reach its final stop.

The Night Paris Airport Shuttle Buses

Passengers arriving late at night at CDG Airport can take the noctilien buses (night buses) linking Paris Airport to Gare de l’ Est and the northern city suburbs. The Night Bus 140 calls at the airport from 01:00 am to 04:00 am on an hourly basis and reaches its final stop at Gare de l’ Est in about 100 minutes. On the other hand, N143 makes an approximately 60-minute journey from Charles de Gaulle Airport to Gare de l’ Est, from 00:00 am to 04:30 am, with available routes every 30 minutes. The noctilien buses stop at Roissypôle Bus Station, the TGV Station, and near Exit 8 of T1.

The long-distance Buses from Charles de Gaulle Airport

Is your destination outside Paris? Do you want to reach another French city or even a foreign location outside France? Long-distance coaches, such as Flixbus , BlaBlaCar Bus, etc., offer their services at Roissy Airport, departing from the Roissypôle Bus Station which lies between Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 1 and T3 CDGVAL Station.

Special Buses Departing from Charles de Gaulle

The magical shuttle.

Where do you think the Magical Shuttle would lead you? To Disneyland, of course! The bus calls at T2E/F from 09:00 am to 06:45 pm with 30-90-minute routes and stops at many Disneyland hotels on the way. The ticket price for the 60-minute bus ride is 23€/23$ for adult passengers and 10€/10$ for children between 2 and 12. Toddlers and babies (0-2 years old) travel for free.

Parc Astérix Shuttle Bus

The 20-minute distance from CDG Airport to Parc Astérix is covered by the Parc Astérix Shuttle , leaving CDG T1 every half an hour and heading to the entertainment park from 09:00 am until one hour after the park’s closure time. The shuttle only operates when Parc Astérix is open. Tickets can be bought by the park’s ticket desk located in T1 (only via bank cards) and cost 10€/10$ for adults, and 9€/9$ for children between 3 and 11, whereas they are free for children under 3 years of age.

Bus Tickets from Charles de Gaulle International Airport

Tickets for roissybus.

A one-way ticket for RoissyBus costs 13.70€/13.70$ and can be bought from the driver (only in cash) or the RATP counters located at CDG T1 and T2.

What’s more, passengers can also use the  Paris Visite travel pass for 1,2,3, or 5 days in a row, depending on their preferences. This pass offers unlimited transfers with every public transportation means (Metro, RER, SNCF, Bus, Tram, Funiculaire de Montmartre) in specific Paris zones depending on the purchased type of pass. For airport transfers, you’ll have to buy the Paris Visite pass for zones 1-5 (Paris and the Île-de-France area, airports, Disneyland, Versailles, etc. included Vs zones 1-3, which cover only central Paris and its inner suburbs). The prices for zones 1-5 vary from 25.25€/25.25$ to 65.80€/65.80$ according to the pass duration, while children between 4 and 11 benefit from a 50% discount. You can buy your pass from the automatic vendors and the ticket desks of the Airport RER Station, the Tourist Office, and online from set tourist operators. Please note that to use the Paris Visite pass, you’ll have to write your name along with the starting and ending day of the pass (time counts from the first validation) and validate it each time you use public transport.

On the other hand,  Navigo passes (Forfaits Navigo)  are another alternative for your Paris transfers. Providing unlimited public rides as well (SNCF, RER, Metro, Bus, Tram, Funiculaire Monmartre), Navigo cards are the following:

  • Navigo Easy : an anonymous smart card, costing 2€/2$, which can be loaded with tickets t+ (from train station ticket offices and automatic vendors or via your smartphone) or Navigo Day Tickets. Navigo Easy can be used by anyone. However, it can’t be used by several people at the same time.
  • Navigo Day Tickets : Navigo Day Tickets offer unlimited transfers from 00:00 am to 12:00 pm on the chosen day. Explicitly, they can be used either on the day of the purchase or within the next 6 days. Navigo Day Tickets must be loaded into a Navigo Easy or a Navigo Découverte card, while each pass can be charged with no more than 2 day tickets. They are available for the zones of your preference (each ticket type covers at least two Paris zones), and their cost varies from 7.50€/7.50$-17.80€17.80$ depending on the zone’s selection.
  • Navigo Découverte : a 5€/5$ personal smart card that can be strictly used by its buyer. As a matter of fact, as soon as you buy the card (available at the airport train stations), you’ll have to write your name on it and stick a photo. Navigo Découverte can be charged with Navigo Day and Week Tickets.
  • Navigo Week Travel Pass : available for a week (starting from Monday at 00:00 am to Sunday at 11:59 pm), Navigo Week Passes offer countless rides with every Paris transportation mode. They can be purchased through a smartphone app or from CDG train stations until Thursday night (and used only up to Sunday midnight), while tickets for the onward week are available from Friday morning (and start applying from Monday 00:00 am). The pass for zones 1-5 costs 22.80€/22.80$.

Our Tip 1 : Paris Visite pass also offers discounts to collaborated providers, such as Galeries Lafayette or Arc de Triomphe.

Our Tip 2 : Navigo Forfaits offer no discount for children.

Our Tip 3 : When it comes to Navigo Passes, you can buy a pass for the central Paris zones and load it afterward with additional tickets for your destination (Disneyland, Airport, etc.).

Local Buses 350-351 and Noctilien Buses

The price for a bus ticket is 1.90€/1.90$, whereas the Night Buses N140 and N143 cost 3.80€/3.80$. Tickets are available inside the bus in cash or at the airport’s train stations. Moreover, the Paris Visite Travel pass and Navigo Forfaits can also be used for Buses 350 and 351 as well as for Night Buses N140 and N 143.

Paris Big Bus Tour Review

T he Paris Big Bus Tour is the gift that keeps on giving. Truth be told I love to walk and see cities on foot, but Paris is a must by bus because it makes financial sense, and it will save you a lot of time.

The Big Bus Tour in Paris

Is it worth it.

When traveling, I am a fan of taking public transportation and traveling like a local. It’s environmentally friendly and you can save money on car rental expenses.

Taking the Big Bus Tour was one of the best decisions that we made because the tourist attractions are spread apart, and you can see many more points of interest while saving time and money.

Paris is made up of 20 neighborhoods (or arrondissements) and the Big Bus Tour will travel through 7 of them.

We spent a total of 9 days and Paris and had a pretty full agenda which included lunch at the Eiffel Tower , a river cruise on the Seine, a day trip to Versailles, a classical concert at La Sainte Chapelle, trips to outdoor markets like Marche des Enfants Rouges, visiting the rooftop of the Arc de Triumph, souvenir shopping, Sacre Coeur, the Louvre Museum, the Champs Elysees, the Catacombs, Rue de Cler, Pont Alexandre , a croissant making class with a Parisien chef, Ile de la Cite, Berthillon, and more. We also ventured out to see Paris at night and the views were stunning!

How Long is the Big Bus Tour in Paris

The Red Route is the main tour, and it takes about two hours to see everything if you don’t exit the bus. We stayed on the bus from start to finish to get a idea of places that we wanted to visit on foot.

How Much is the Big Bus Tour in Paris

The ticket fee will vary based on the number of days that you want to join the tour bus. I recommend the combination ticket where you can see the points of interest for the Big Bus, and take a cruise on the river Seine.

It is possible to do both the tour and the cruise in one day. If you join the tour and finish by 5 PM, you can then join the cruise on the river and catch the sunset depending on the time of year that you go.

Check for tickets on the Paris Big Bus Tour here .

Are There Toilets on the Big Bus

Sorry, but no matter what the city it is very likely that you won’t find any restrooms. However, you can ask the driver or attendants on the bus to guide you. The wonderful thing about Paris is there are public restrooms available for just a euro.

When is the Best Time to Visit Paris

We went on the bus tour at the end of March for Spring break. The weather was a bit chilly and in the high 50s to low 60s. It was sunny, but not incredibly warm.

The prime months are April, May, September, and October when highs reach a comfortable 60-70°F (15-21°C).

Big Bus Tour Review

We purchased our tickets online using a smartphone after touring Notre Dame. Because the cathedral was one of the tour stops, we thought we were close, but the stop was a 7-minute walk away.

To add, the area was congested, and the instructions were confusing. After calling the tour company, we found the stop heading west but then learned that the bus stop was across the street and coming from the south direction.

Fortunately, we caught it in time and were able to get nice seats on the upper deck.

It was a sunny, cool day and one would think would be an excellent opportunity for photos. The problem for me is that I don’t have great photography skills and I was using my smartphone.

When we got to a landmark or icon, it was difficult to take a good shot due to the speed at which the bus traveled, bumps in the road, construction equipment, or overgrown trees, not to mention the hands, heads, and cameras of other passengers.

On our tour there were two routes in operation, the red route, and another color (which may no longer be available). The red route took about two hours to see everything. Then we had to exit the bus at the last stop to catch another bus that went into other neighborhoods.

The most interesting point on the second route was The Moulin Rouge. Otherwise, the sights were non-eventful, so we caught up on rest and napped on the lower level during the ride.

Overall, it was time well spent. And since we planned activities at a few of the attractions we had the chance to make up for bad photos taken on the bus.

Where to Catch the Big Bus Tour in Paris

There are 10 stops on the red route and the buses will arrive in frequent intervals. During peak visiting months, like spring to summer, you can expect longer waits and slim pickings for a good seat.

1 – Louvre Pyramide / Big Bus Information Centre (11 avenue de l’Opéra)

2 – Louvre at Pont des Arts (2 rue de l’Amiral de Coligny)

3 – Notre Dame ( 3, Rue Lagrange (outside souvenir shop, opposite park entrance)

4 – Musée d’Orsay (58 Place Henry de Montherlant, facing the museum)

5 – Champs-Elysées (156, avenue des Champs-Elysées, facing the Arc de Triomphe)

6 – Grand Palais (Avenue Winston Churchill, facing Grand Palais and Petit Palais)

7 – Trocadéro (Avenue Paul Doumer, next to the Musée de l’Homme)

8- Tour Eiffel (Quai Branly, Entrée 2 Tour Eiffel, at the north pillar of the Eiffel Tower)

9 – Champ de Mars (Avenue Joseph Bouvard)

10 – Opéra Garnier (Facing 15 rue Scribe, next to the Roissy airport shuttle bus stop)

Things to Know Before You Go

  • The tour is pre-recorded and the audio narratives can be heard in English, French, Italian , Spanish, German, Brazilian Portuguese, Mandarin, and Korean.
  • Be mindful of potential traffic delays, especially during peak hours so that you can plan your tour for off-peak times to avoid congestion.
  • Be aware of any events that may alter the experience (rallies, protests, huge sports competitions).

I can’t emphasize the awareness of events enough. There was an enormous parade outside our hotel on one trip, and protests that caused the Champs Elysee to be boarded up during another trip.

Final Thoughts on the Paris Big Bus Tour

Overall, it was a pretty fun girls’ trip but the last thing I wated to do was spend most of our time and money riding the subway all over Paris.

The Big Bus is a no brainer if you want to see the best of Paris without wearing yourself out.

As a US citizen, I try to make the most of my visits to Europe.

The more countries I visit, the more I am convinced that I’ve made the best use of a 10-hour flight.

A quick trip to the Covent Garden in London, Venice , Italy, or any another country is always must for me.

And as always, you can see whether you are in New York , Paris, or Chicago , you experience so much in a short amount of time with a Big Bus Tour.

Screen shots of a view of a person bus surfing on 2nd Avenue

These daredevils are riding a new wave.

Adrenaline junkies are now surfing atop Big Apple buses barreling down major thoroughfares — a new twist on the deadly transit trend of surfing subway cars.

One audacious roof rider captured their illegal trip on an M15 articulated bus, the streetscape blurring past as the steel behemoth hurtled down Second Avenue in Manhattan’s Murray Hill neighborhood, video footage shared on Instagram this week showed.

Teen standing up while riding the top of a bus

Another vertigo-inducing clip posted on X in February showed a hoodie-clad youth crouching down on the roof of a different articulated bus — before hopping on to a different section of the vehicle and ducking beneath an electric cable line.

“If there’s something ridiculous, foolhardy and dangerous, teens will figure out how to do it,” straphanger Pamelda Candusso Hirsch, 71, griped to The Post.

“They could forever ruin so many lives.”

Mustapha Sawaneh, who has driven MTA buses along crosstown routes for six years, warned the brazen surfers who are taking their stunts from the city’s underground to the streets face more “unpredictable” and dangerous terrain.

“If a cab cuts in front of you, you have to slam on the breaks. If someone steps out on the street, you have to swerve the bus,” Sawaneh, 26, said.

“If you’re [subway] surfing you can see a train curve ahead, what’s coming up [but] when you’re bus surfing you don’t know what’s going to happen.”

Several bus drivers suspected the reckless riders were somehow scampering aboard their vehicles while they were parked during their 10-minute breaks, or even a 30-second stop at a red light.

“Operators are going to need to check [the top of buses] before we head out,” said veteran operator Jason Williams, 40.

He warned it’s impossible to tell from the driver’s seat whether their bus has a roof-level stowaway “unless someone tells you, and then it might be too late.”

New York City and state officials have attempted to crack down on the scourge of transit surfers, which they say has become more common among teens who are trying to copy what they see on TikTok and Instagram.

In September, the Adams administration and the MTA deployed a public service campaign with ads and announcements warning about the dangers of subway surfing.

At least two people have been killed riding outside of trains this year, including 14-year-old Alam Reyes , who was killed after he was thrown from the top of a southbound F train in Brooklyn.

Last year, at least five teens were killed while subway surfing.

Dave Steckel, an MTA spokesman, said the agency was investigating the incidents.
