I really want to get a travel humidor that also holds all the necessary accessories instead of lugging around my hard plastic humidor and then having all my other crap to deal with. These https://projectcarbon.us/ are quite pricey but would seem to do the job. My only concern is how well, if at all something like that would hold humidity over a few day period. Anyone have any first hand experience? And, if you know of a much cheaper setup that accommodates what I'm looking for, please weight in. Cheers.
Is that a travel humidor though? Will it even seal to maintain RH? If I'm taking the 4-5 cigars this thing holds I just use my 10ct travel case and keep room for the lighter and cutter, of just Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

Hot ketchup.
Get the case from harbor freight. It has a moisture seal, and you can tear out the squares you want to fit your accessories.
Theres also good deals at some hunting website where i got mine from ... don't remember the hunting website but it was cheap

Wow! $200 for that? It looks like a soft side case with a "carbon fiber" finish. I'm sure there are many, better options out there.
To the ones we can save, and those we can't.

I am going to echo what has already been said... That's a heft price tag. I just had a new setup completed link . The case was $12.99 at Harbor Freight and the tray could probably be made for $50 bucks (I had a friend design it and he cut it out of scrap, so that's a guess).

PRODUCT DESIGN
I had been looking for a nice leather cigar case for a while. During my search, I found many different cases that either had high price tags ($500 or more) or that were significantly cheaper and of dubious quality ($35 or so from Chinese website). The higher priced cases almost always looked good and had great reviews. I just couldn’t justify spending that much money on a case. Not to mention, I could never find the color/design I liked. The cheaper cases usually came with fake Cohiba branding and cheap looking leather. Also, the configurations on were just not good enough for me.
ProjectCarbon’s travel cases have a straight forward design that is both functional and visually appealing. No wonder they get so much attention on Instagram. The following is information from ProjectCarbon website:
- Dimensions: 9″ x 5.5″ x 2.15″
- Weight: 12 Ounces
- Geunite Soft Grain Leather
- Holds 4-5 Cigars up to 7 inch long
- Modern Design
- Sleeve to fit Perfecdraw cigar tool
- Sleeve for a cigar stand
OBSERVATIONS
PRESENTATION ProjectCarbon paid close attention to their packaging. When it arrived, I opened a bubble wrap pouch to find a nice black box with ProjectCarbon logo on it. When I opened the box, I saw a soft cloth bag protecting the case. When I pulled out the case and inspected, I found no visible flaws or discoloration. I absolutely love opening new things out of the box. If you love doing that too, then check out the unboxing video I made for my YouTube and Instagram .
CONSTRUCTION & DURABILITY This case feels good in my hand. The leather is soft and feels premium. The zipper opens and closes with ease. Putting accessories and cigars into the pockets is extremely easy. Unlike some other leather cases, the ProjectCarbon case holds its shape very well. I’ve been using my 1st case for months and it still holds its shape. The stitching is exquisite. Everything about this case looks and feels premium.
The ProjectCarbon travel case has been a great travel case for me. Wherever I take it, it gets noticed. This case holds everything I need for smoking a cigar securely and in style. It looks good and feels good. It certainly beats carrying around a black, air-tight, plastic case while my accessories bang against each other while in my pocket.
I love that it can hold so many accessories. A designated spot for Perfecdraw tool is something not seen from any other cigar cases. There are three pockets that can fit pretty much any accessory combination you might want or need.
The one drawback of this case is that it doesn’t make a good, long term carry case. The case is not air tight and will lose humidity over time. But, the ProjectCarbon case has been great for taking to a herf, or just having cigars on me for the day.
RATING & FINAL THOUGHTS
FINAL THOUGHTS The ProjectCarbon travel case is an amazing case, in my opinion. If you are looking for a case with good quality and feel, I highly recommend it. They offer many different colors and styles, so there’s a good chance you will find exactly what you want. While it isn’t inexpensive, I believe the price is justified given the quality of the product.

COMPLIMENTS & CRITIQUES
- Great quality and ease of use
- Very well designed to be visually appealing and practical
- Plenty of space for all the accessories you need
- $259.99 price point could seem too high for some people
- no apparent warranty info on their website
Ultimate cigar case to impress everyone at the herf.
ProjectCarbon’s travel case will stand out in any situation. No matter how expensive your cigar or lighter is, this case will not bring down the look. The quality of the case and feel of it really justifies the price.
If you like to be stylish without giving up function, and also have some money to spend, this case should be on your shopping list in near future.

I am regularly racing on the track here in Kuwait. After a day of putting down some lap times and having fun the guys gather round for a nice cigar. The travel carbon fiber humidor was a great hit with the guys on and off the track! Kevin D
I travel a lot for work between San Francisco and London. Between my cigars and watches I was always looking for a dapper way to transport them with me on my travels. Carbon Atelier provides me a method for both that is not only lightweight but dashing like a debonair racer of a bygone era. Stefano D

How to Choose the Right Travel Humidor
- Basics & Knowledge
- From the Magazine
The small proportions of a travel humidor make humidifying it properly extremely difficult. The volume of air is so small that a passive humidifier can quickly cause excessive humidification. Furthermore, the cigars are very close to the humidifier, meaning that there is a danger of a soggy wrapper caused by the cigar being placed too close to the humidifier.
In addition to this, temperature variation during the journey directly affects the level of humidity in the humidor. An attractive exterior may be important to the aficionado, but for others the quality of storage under difficult environmental conditions is foremost. Whilst one person might want to take three cigars with him for a two-day trip, another might want to take 50 cigars for three weeks. For this reason I suggest a combination of a case for 2–3 cigars that seals well and a stable, robust storage system for 5–80 cigars.
There are several metal or carbon fibre cases on the market that I would recommend for storing 2–3 cigars. Humidification is not necessary for these cases as they seal very well. For storing a larger quantity I would resort to the ugly, but extremely practical, moulded plastic travel humidor. These include foam cradles for your cigars and offer excellent protection against damage.
Also these boxes seal so well that as long as they remain closed hardly any moisture is lost. However, caution is advisable even in this case. A small humidifier is usually built into the lid of this kind of case. If you wish to make use of it, then you should not store any cigars in the three cradles nearest to the humidifier, as the lack of distance between the humidifier and cigars stored here means the cigars would immediately become soggy and soft.
If you are using a larger case with several layers of foam cradles, I recommend that instead of using the built-in humidifier you use one or two pieces of Spanish cedarwood, cut so that they fit exactly to the cigar cradles. These pieces of wood are lightly moistened and placed in the middle layer of foam. In my experience this is perfectly adequate for 4–5 weeks, the cigars are in no danger of being exposed to excessive humidification and they are extremely well protected. Admittedly these plastic boxes will never win a beauty contest, but in my opinion they cannot be beaten for practicality when travelling.

Was watching a video with the Boveda guy who loved them but pretty sure it was sponsored content. The one that doubles as a gun case seems cool but overkill. Any thoughts ? I have a couple of the leather cases. Can’t vouch enough for the quality and customer service. Project Carbon has some pretty awesome stuff. High quality material.
