‘BEST TRIP’ —FIRST-EVER AI-GENERATED BILLBOARD CAMPAIGN
LOS ANGELES, — REVOLVE (NYSE: RVLV), known for being a trailblazer in innovative marketing initiatives, technologies, and data-driven strategies, introduces the world’s first AI-generated billboard campaign entitled ‘Best Trip’ in celebration of the company’s 20th-anniversary. The campaign’s theme signifies the brand’s past, present, and future with art collaboratively created with Ai studio MAISON.META .
“In celebration of our 20th anniversary, we are launching new forward-thinking and innovative partnerships, collaborations, and experiences for our customers. Technology is a big competitive edge for us and allows us to continue to win. Through Ai, we’ll be able to explore new emerging designers, brands, and trends that we are known for delivering in unique ways.” said Michael Mente , Co-Founder, and Co-Chief Executive Officer of RVLV. “We’ve known the MAISON.META team for a long time, and they understand our vision. We knew they’d be the best people to bring this Ai campaign to life. This brand-elevating moment sets the tone for where we are heading.”
The campaign will be REVOLVE’s first venture into AI technologies for brand marketing and advertising. ‘Best Trip’ is a nod to the 20-year journey that has made REVOLVE one of the world’s most sought-after retailers and go-to destinations for current and future fashion, beauty, and lifestyle trends. By utilizing progressive technology, such as AI, REVOLVE will continue to be a leader in the fashion, lifestyle, and e-commerce space as it enters a new phase of growth and innovation. .
‘Best Trip’ will debut on April 3rd, with the launch of several billboards appearing along the CA 10 highway en route to Palm Springs. The innovative campaign will be visible throughout the month of April to hundreds of thousands of festival goers and fashion enthusiasts traveling to the multiple world-famous music festivals in the desert this month, including REVOLVE’s annual world-renowned music and lifestyle festival, REVOLVE Festival , on April 15th and 16th .
In addition, REVOLVE will produce and sell a limited edition capsule collection from the designs seen in the AI campaign. The collection will be available for purchase on REVOLVE.com throughout the spring season. The first drop will be available for preorder on April 3.
REVOLVE will also partner with MAISON.META on various AI initiatives this year, including this season’s Ai Fashion Week at Spring Studios in New York City on April 20 + 21, 2023.

Revolve Showcases an AI-Generated Billboard Campaign and Collection
Fashion retailer Revolve owes its success to influencers, but some say it should offer higher rates and more cash payments
- Fashion retailer Revolve has built an established customer base through leveraging influencers.
- The brand is known for its flashy influencer trips and events, including Revolve Festival.
- But some industry insiders say the company's influencer strategy feels out of touch.
Trendy online retailer Revolve owes its success to influencers.
No, really. The brand relies so heavily on social stars to promote its products that in the company's third quarter earnings report, it said its business depends on maintaining a strong relationship with them.
"We believe that much of the growth in our customer base to date has originated from social media and our influencer-driven marketing strategy," the company wrote .
Revolve, which launched in 2003, has a strategy centered around building awareness through sponsoring events and experiences such as Revolve Festival, Revolve Around The World, Revolve Gallery, as well as short-term retail experiences and influencer trips. The brand also works with influencers in creating their own clothing lines. In March, the brand launched a size-inclusive clothing line in collaboration with TikTok star Remi Bader (2.2 million followers).
But some influencer industry insiders said they feel the brand's influencer strategy has not matured as the market has.
Take its New York Fashion week strategy as an example. In September, the brand focused on working with TikTok-native influencers to promote its Revolve Gallery event. The immersive, four-day installation hosted 9,000 people, the company wrote , including celebrities like Kendall Jenner.
Weeks before the event, Revolve's influencer-marketing team reached out to TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram creators to offer them the opportunity to be dressed by Revolve. But some influencers told Insider they felt there was a problem: Revolve's "gifting" strategy felt out of touch with current influencer-marketing norms, and they'd rather be paid with money than with product or store credit.
Insider spoke with four creators and three creator talent managers about their experiences working with Revolve. The influencers and managers, whose identities are known to Insider, shared their experiences anonymously because they weren't authorized to speak publicly about Revolve's terms.
"I think for influencers it really comes down to 'is this trade worth it?' To me, it was not," said one influencer with fewer than 50,000 followers, who declined the NYFW offer. "$1,000 in clothing credit doesn't even begin to cover my rate for the deliverables they requested, never mind usage, exclusivity, etc. The contract is very intense."
A second influencer, with over 100,000 TikTok followers, told Insider that leading up to Revolve's NYFW festivities, they were asked to post several pieces of content including four TikTok videos, two Instagram posts, and three Instagram Stories in exchange for $1,000 in clothing credit (and no cash payment). They took the deal because they valued the opportunity to attend Revolve's coveted events but said they would normally charge $20,000 for that amount of content.
While Revolve does have paid deals with influencers, some creators and talent managers said they thought it was time for the brand to further expand beyond gifting, and offer more paying opportunities, particularly to micro influencers who have fewer than 100,000 followers.
Some influencers also questioned why they were asked to create more content for the brand than others with a similar follower count. But Alec Wagley, vice president of influencer partnerships at BEN Group, said that aspect of Revolve's strategy makes clear sense, as metrics like engagement, reach, platform, and niche are more important in determining cost than follower count.
"If creator A, let's say they have 50,000 followers, and creator B has 50,000 followers, it's not accurate for them to say 'oh the same brand paid me X amount of dollars and the other person was paid Y dollars,' and they'd be frustrated that they weren't paid the same," Wagley said. "The number of followers a creator has on social media does not accurately reflect their worth or the amount they should be paid for sponsored content."
Revolve declined to comment on specific partnership details.
Related stories
Overall, the creators and managers who spoke with Insider said that Revolve has maintained its position as one of the top influencer brands thanks to the desirability of its events and products. But some influencers said that to remain competitive long term, they thought Revolve would have to offer higher rates, make more payments in cash versus in product, and send free products to more creators in its ambassador program.
A strategy that revolves around product gifting and seasonal contests
Although Revolve offers paid contracts to some influencers, many creators who work with the company are part of its ambassador program that leans on product gifting and seasonal contests.
The seasonal contests were a particular point of contention among some influencers. The contests generally work by giving store credit or clothing to influencers who drive the most sales in a particular category. The catch, though, is that the influencer ideally should own products from Revolve in order to promote them, but these influencers are only sent clothing if they win the contest. A third influencer told Insider that they were frustrated with Revolve for not sending all of its influencers products ahead of the contest to display in their content.
"They are pitching it as an ambassador program but it's really just affiliate marketing," the third influencer said.
Amazon influencers expressed similar concerns to Insider earlier this year related to its live-shopping feature, Amazon Live. Unless the livestream was sponsored by a brand, Amazon didn't give influencers the products they talked about (and tried to sell), three creators told Insider.
Revolve's latest contest, which ran through the first 12 days of December, offered a variety of rewards, including $1,000 store credit to the influencer with the highest gross sales on Revolve in 24 hours. The most valuable reward was a trip worth up to $15,000 to the influencer who sold the most FWRD products (Revolve's sister store) between December 1 and March 31, according to emails viewed by Insider.
One influencer, who has about 30,000 followers on Instagram, said they didn't participate in the contest because, relative to the amount of work required, the payouts were lower than what they would normally charge: around $2,000 for a single sponsored Instagram post, and around $3,000 for a sponsored video.
As the creator economy matures, more influencers are craving pay transparency and a more standardized approach to marketing.
In May, Marketing Brew's Phoebe Bain wrote that sending an influencer products with no strings attached was a successful influencer marketing strategy for some DTC brands. But the difference with Revolve is that often the brand expects content in return. The fact that many influencers opt out of these types of programs because they prefer to be paid could be a sign that it's time that Revolve's strategy evolved, industry insiders said.
Still, some influencers are happy with Revolve's approach
Revolve does offer long-term deals with select influencers, and some say they have been happy with its terms.
One talent manager spoke highly about the brand's strategy, and said that their client had a six-month paid contract with Revolve this year, and part of that deal included an expenses-paid trip to Revolve's NYFW activities.
A fourth influencer, who has about 1 million followers on TikTok, told Insider that they were only required to post one TikTok video for NYFW, and in exchange they were given $2,000 worth of clothing from Revolve.
"For me, personally, I do like having a relationship with them," the fourth influencer said. "They haven't asked anything of me personally that's been particularly aggressive. One TikTok video plus clothing credit from them seems reasonable for me, especially because I am a fan of the brand on my own and I have ordered from them before."

Dr. Barbara Sturm Winter Kit
Whether it's harsh outdoor winds or the stifling heat blasting in your apartment, cold weather can wreak havoc on anyone's skin. Dr. Barbara Sturm's Winter Kit remedies the winter blues with seven of the brand's most beloved products (a cleanser, face mask, two serums, eye cream, face cream, and a lip balm), all of which work in harmony to boost and seal hydration.

Osea Super Serums Set
The limited-edition Osea Super Serums Set combats winter dryness with a full-size Hyaluronic Sea Serum that uses hyaluronic acid, seaweed, and snow mushroom to keep skin supple and moisturized. The Ocean Eyes Age-Defying Eye Serum depuffs and brightens with seaweed, peptides, and quinoa, plus, the rollerball design means easy application. We recommend storing both in the fridge for a cooling effect.
Boy Smells Cashmere Kush Room Spray
You shouldn't judge a book by its cover — especially during the holidays, right? — but we're judging Boy Smells Cashmere Kush Room Spray in a good way. The bottle itself blends function and decor for a product you'd proudly store on your nightstand. And we should probably mention that the scent of this room spray is divine: a concentrated warm floral with cashmere woods, amber, and vetiver.
Jolie Skin Filtered Showerhead
Consider the Jolie Skin Filtered Showerhead a welcome upgrade if their bathroom hasn't been updated since 1963 (fellow New Yorkers: you know this isn't an exaggeration). This one-size-fits-all product takes minutes to install and effectively removes harsh metals and chlorine from water, resulting in softer hair and skin that doesn't feel uber dry when you step out of the shower.
Cult Gaia Jolie Shoulder Bag
With its brushed brass chain strap and pink marbled acrylic, Cult Gaia's Jolie Shoulder Bag is brings the summery mermaidcore trend boldly into winter. Emi Jay Big Effing Clip
Messy updos are instantly elevated with Emi Jay's Big Effing Clip, a TikTok darling that holds hair in place without tugging at the roots. Its quirky designs and stunning colorways can be seen on your style favorites (hello, Matilda Djerf) and we're personally buying the iridescent blue for our own stockings.
NCLA Holiday Macaron Lip Care Duo
While NCLA Holiday Macaron Lip Care Duo smells delicious enough to eat, thanks to its raspberry buttercream scent, let's not sleep on the benefits of this affordable stocking stuffer. The Sugar, Sugar Scrub provides brightening exfoliation (Pro tip Use it with the included silicone scrubber) while the Balm Babe hydrates and soothes.
Piecework Heavy Petal Candle
Piecework's Heavy Petal Candle is eye-catching thanks to a funky red and pink color scheme, but it's the scent that will have them ordering this soy wax blend far beyond the holidays. Top notes of bergamot and peony, middle notes of rose damas, and base notes of musk, cedarwood, sandalwood, and vetiver exude a sophisticated floral.
Helsa Danya Cashmere Scarf
Mark our words: They'll be wearing Helsa's Danya scarf for years and seasons to come. Neutral colors (camel and heather oat), an ultrashort, 100%-cashmere fabric, and clean-cut silhouette meet all the criteria of a perfect cold-weather accessory,,

Packaged in a mirrored tin, Nudestix Nudies Matte Blush & Bronze makes contour on-the-go a breeze thanks to a dual-sided design with a creamy color on one side and fluffy blending brush on the other. You'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to the 15 balm options, though our year-round pick is Terracotta Tan.
Aire x Revolve Sunglasses
Classic shades? Yes, please. The Aire x Revolve Sunglasses may come at an under-$40 price tag, but a sleek cat eye gives the impression that they cost many Benjamins. The category is affordable luxury and we give these sunnies an A+.
Pat McGrath Labs
Pat McGrath Labs Mothership V: Bronze Seduction Eyeshadow Palette
If your devout beauty lover friend is at the very top of your nice list, we'll make the work easy for you: Pat McGrath Labs Mothership V: Bronze Seduction Eyeshadow Palette. This stunning palette uses creamy formulas with intense pigment, making the color payoff for these matte, metallic, and shimmery hues look almost unreal.
Tony Bianco
Tony Bianco Sadie Heel
The Tony Bianco Sadie Heel is an answered prayer for the friend who's already complaining about foot pain 10 minutes into dinner. A classic pointed toe and subtle kitten heel makes these a versatile dressy shoe they'll be wearing on repeat.
DedCool Milk Layering Fragrance
The friend who has roughy 32 perfume bottles cluttering their nightstand will adore unwrapping DedCool's Milk Layering Fragrance, a blend of amber, musk, and bergamot that is subtle on its own but can be layered with other fragrances in their collection. The result? A signature scent that is entirely their own.
Varley Ells Jacket
For a sweater that's cozy enough for morning coffee but dressy enough for pre-fixe dinner, put a bow around the Varley Ells Jacket. A thick jersey fabric will keep 'em warm while a dramatic collar and an adjustable dual direction zipper adds a trendy touch to an otherwise basic (and mean this respectfully) cold weather top.
Simon Miller
Simon Miller Logo Studio Tote
The Simon Miller Logo Studio Tote is a commuter's dream, thanks to a spacious interior that can easily store larger items like laptops or running sneakers. The luxe faux leather and debossed logo is chic to boot.
Mason Pearson
Mason Pearson Hair Brush
If you've watched Devil Wears Prada as much as we have, you may remember the iconic moment when Andy is giving free products to friends — and a Mason Pearson Hair Brush was (understandably) the star of the show. This handcrafted boar bristle brush is ideal for medium to long hair and glides through knots, while also stimulating the scalp and loosening buildup.
Grlfrnd Bella Low Rise Jeans
There's no greater fashion staple than solid denim, and they'll welcome the Grlfrnd Bella Low Rise Jeans into their everyday rotation with open arms. And we know what you're thinking — low-rise? But yes, they're back, and the baggy silhouette ensures max comfort.
Cosrx Favorites Best-Sellers Set
White elephant gift idea: snail mucin. Cosrx's Favorites Best-Sellers Set contains three travel-sized products — Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser, Ultra-Moisturizing Lotion, Clarifying Treatment Toner — along with the brand's beloved snail mucin, a deeply moisturizing product that will leave even Beth from marketing impressed.
Rituel de Fille
Rituel de Fille Thorn Oil Priming Facial Elixir
Every rose has its thorn, though that doesn't stop Rituel de Fille's Thorn Oil Priming Facial Elixir taking full advantage by using the full flower — along with marula and jojoba oils — to moisturize and prep skin for a full face of foundation. And while it looks blood red in the bottle, this applies clear and can be worn on its own for a luminous glow. It's basically a highlighter in skin-care form.
Lovers and Friends
Lovers and Friends Marisol Gown
It would be impossible to not fall head over heels for the vibrant rhubarb color that makes the Marisol Gown from Lovers and Friends a compliment magnet. And with New Year's Eve coming up, we wouldn't judge if you bought this dress for a friend…or yourself.
Etat Libre D’Orange
Etat Libre d'Orange She Was An Anomaly Perfume
Just a dab of Etat Libre d'Orange She Was An Anomaly Perfume to their pulse points will have them smitten. A fragrance that smells unique to the wearer, the vibe is a woody floral (envisioning running through a forest in the middle of the spring) made up of iris, vanilla, musk, and sandalwood notes.
Montce Juliet Mini Dress
With its shimmery luxe fabric, the Montce Juliet Mini Dress feels like unwrapping a trip to Fiji, Maui, or the Maldives. Plane tickets are sadly not included, so we recommend writing a little card that states you'll purchase them first-class seats next holiday season — after you win the lottery or unearth an otherworldly inheritance from your great aunt
Chillhouse Sea Siren Classic Almond Press-Ons
POV: They can't sit at a nail salon for more than three minutes but they also don't have the patience to master the art of an at-home manicure. Consider Chillhouse's Sea Siren Classic Almond Press-Ons, which are smudge-proof, easy to glue on, and have a stunning chrome blue design.
Superdown Faux Leather Mini Jacket
With its distressed gray wash and racecar stripes, they'll sooner believe that this Superdown Faux Leather Mini Jacket was thrifted from a well-curated (and expensive) vintage boutique than plucked from the online racks of Revolve. It's a more playful upgrade to their black leather jacket but retains the same wearability.
L'Academie Arlo Coat
If they're texting "on my way!" 30 minutes after your reservation time because they just couldn't decide what to wear, gift them a style staple that turns getting ready into a breeze. One can only hope that they'll throw on the cozy L'academie Arlo Coat over jeans and a white tee instead of trying on every single piece of clothing in their closet — and make it to your next hangout in a timely fashion .
I wish that the summer could last forever, but the sad reality is that once the Fourth of July passes, summer feels like it's pretty much over. July flies by in whirlwind that makes it feel shorter than February. What gives?! If you're on vacation (or just taking it very, very easy) during the summer, it's even easier to lose track of time. The days seem to blend together — and then all of a sudden, everything is over!
One trip that particularly made my summer fly by was spending five days in Bermuda with online retailer Revolve. The brand is known for hosting trips all over the world , and, even if you don't snag an invite, the resulting photos always offer up some of the best outfit inspiration. With about a month left of summer, these pics just might encourage you to book one last beach vacation. After all, they are the easiest type of trip to pack for: All you need are bathing suits, dresses, some shorts, and sandals which is much better (and lighter) than packing sweaters and boots for colder temperatures! Here are the best dressed from Revolve's month long stint in Bermuda — living proof that beach dressing can be easy and fit in a carry on.
CHALIEE SON
A dress that doubles as a beach cover-up and something you can throw on to go exploring is a vacation essential, since it reduces the amount of items you have to pack. This Majorelle dress is the perfect color and style for a tropical trip. Add the straw bag, and done! Effortless and chic vacation look achieved.
BRITTANY SKY
Just because you're on vacation doesn't mean that you can't go all out with an outfit. Brittany Sky is no wallflower in this LPA matching sequined top and skirt.
JASMINE SANDERS
Scenario: You fell asleep on the beach and are now running late for dinner and are stressed TF out about what to wear. But why? Just grab a pair of silky pants to throw on over your swimsuit and you're good to go.
RACHEL LINDSAY
If there's one item to overpack if you're headed to a beach or pool for vacation, it's a swimsuit. Rachel Lindsay clearly packed well, and brings the glow in her Lovers + Friends bikinis.
JASMINE TOOKES
Here's another excellent example of a summer dress working double time on vacation. Jasmine Tookes threw this striped LPA button-up dress over her swimsuit to be beach-to-town ready, just like that. Bold colors and patterns are really good to keep in mind while packing, too, because they look great on the beach — and even better on Instagram.
JANICE JOOSTEMA
Look. Real talk, leopard print is never a bad idea, whether you're on vacation or not. It works everywhere, and Janice Joostema is my forever vacation mood in this Lovers + Friends dress .
You're on vacation, so why not wear pajamas all day? As long as it's silk because silk very breathable and beach temperatures tend to get up there. Throwing it over a swimsuit is a great beach outfit, especially if it gets a little windy.
ROCKY BARNES
You could bring an LBD, but vacation is the perfect time to try something in a brighter color, like Rocky Barnes' yellow, NBD gown.
JOEY ZAUZIG AND JOURDAN SLOANE
Sometimes your best accessory is a best friend. Vacationing together is always more fun , and it means you have an extra set of eyes around to help put outfits together. Jourdan is making a strong case for a denim dress for a night out. Styled with white sneakers and a vintage gold chain belt, this distressed GRLFRND dress is everything. Joey is making a strong case too but for the Hawaiian print shirt and is effortlessly cool.
It might seem like a weird choice to pack long-sleeved clothes on a vacation to hot temps, but weather unpredictability and air conditioning mean it's never a bad idea. The sleeves on this Tularosa dress are voluminous, so if you get too hot, they won't cling to you!
Aimee styles her Kendall + Kylie swimsuit bikini top as part of a non-swim outfit, and pairs it with a colorful LPA skirt and a big straw hat (because sun protection is always in style). This is perfect for going straight from lunch right to the pool or beach, with little fuss because the skirt has buttons that make it easy to throw on over a swimsuit.
ROMEE STRIJD
Romee mastered vacation mornings by throwing on a Tularosa swimsuit and denim shorts, grabbing an iced coffee, and heading straight to the beach.
ANGEL AND DREN
When you're twin, technically you can pack less because you can easily share clothes...right? So now my question is how did you guys decided to got to wear this Lovewave look first? Whether it's your friend or your twin sister, if you're comfortable sharing clothes it's always worth splitting up the packing list and swapping outfits during a trip.
YOVANNA VENTURA
Coordination on vacation isn't necessary — but when the opportunity presents itself, who could say no? A white Lovers + Friends dress to match this cute white dog is pretty ideal.
ALYSSA RARA AND SHEA MARIE
Again, when you happen upon an opportunity to coordinate, seize it! And yes, sneakers on the beach is totally acceptable.
ANDREEA CRISTINA
Polka dots are always a good decision, especially in red! Pair a flowy dress, like this Tularosa number, with heels for a night out, or wear with sandals during the day. Either way, a fit-n-flare with a cute pattern makes for a versatile piece to have in your vacation wardrobe.
JAY ROCK AND COCO CUENCO
Sometimes the club is even hotter than the beach, so a crop top and GRLFRND denim shorts is the move. And when you look this good and Jay Rock is around, make sure to snap a pic.
ANASTASIA KARANIKOLAOU
After a long day in the sun, sometimes a little dress is exactly what you want to put on instead of shorts or pants. A tube dress, like one from Majorelle, is easy to slide into and makes those warm nights more tolerable.
MICHAEL MENTE AND RAISSA GERONA
And when the bosses of Revolve look this good, you definitely have to step up you're vacation dressing game. A printed men's shirt like the one Michael is wearing is really versatile, so borrow from the boys! And I love a top like Raissa's because it can be worn so many different ways so packing just this one top can mean you have outfits for a few days.
REVOLVE x Jetset Christina Capsule Collection – All the best vacation outfits to pack for your next trip
Last year, when Revolve approached me about curating my very own influencer capsule collection with them for summer, I was soooo excited. I’ve been shopping Revolve since as long as I can remember, and it’s always been my go-to destination for finding chic vacation outfits with fast shipping, easy returns, and SO many options from all of my favorite brands. Being asked to create my very own capsule collection with Revolve is more than just a dream come true, it’s a milestone for my business as an influencer. While I of course know the impact that my audience has, and the incredible loyalty and community we’ve built here at Jetset Christina, it’s so meaningful to me when brands like Revolve realize that powerful impact, appreciate what my business has done for their business, and realize the potential in partnering further together. I am very proud that Jetset Christina makes a big difference for the businesses I work with and drives a ton of sales for the destinations, brands, and products I choose to promote on this blog and on instagram, which is why I’m so selective and picky about who I work with and the brands and products that I use and show to you guys. It takes a lot for me to want to promote something, so when I love something, you guys know I love it emphatically, and I’ll scream it from the rooftops. Which is how I feel about this capsule collection. These Jetset Christina x REVOLVE dresses and vacation outfits are MADE for your summer travels, from the Italian Coast , to the French Riviera , to the Maldives , to summer lake days right here in the USA, these are the outfits I know you’re going to want to be photographed in all summer long! They’re breezy, beautiful, and unique, and I know you’re going to love them.
So here are a few of my favorite JETSET CHRISTINA x REVOLVE summer outfits I’ve worn recently that I think you should grab before they sell out!

My new favorite black crochet cover up dress
This crochet cover up is a show-stopper on the beach or at the resort. I’m all for a piece that I can pack for vacation that makes a statement, but is so comfy like this one.
Pair it with a straw hat for a low-key chic look, or a black hat and black sunglasses to turn heads and have everyone wondering if you’re a celebrity.
I’m wearing a Small here. I feel it runs TTS, I would size down if anything.

This stunning yellow halter dress
I love this yellow cotton maxi. It fits pretty loose in the boobs, so I’d size down! I’m wearing a small here.

Best places to visit in may 2024.
With its pleasantly warm weather and thinned crowds, May is the perfect time to take a trip before the expensive summer season. Considering sights, weather, traveler sentiment and annual events (among other factors), U.S. News rounded up the best places to visit in May. Whether you're looking for an outdoor adventure in a national park, a quick Memorial Day getaway or a leisurely beach vacation , you can't go wrong with these destinations. Vote for your favorite locales below to help determine next year's list.
Bryce Canyon National Park
Laguna beach, st. vincent & the grenadines, victoria & vancouver island, yellowstone national park.
When May comes around in Bryce Canyon National Park, the snow is nearly gone, which means the park's main road and popular trails are likely to be open. Highs are typically in the 60s during the day, too – ideal conditions for hiking and biking this Utah park's paths. Visitor numbers start to ramp up this month, but it's still early enough in the season that you're unlikely to have to jostle for a view at the popular Bryce Point, which overlooks Bryce Amphitheater, a landscape of otherworldly rock spires (called hoodoos).
This Portuguese island chain in the Atlantic Ocean offers a little bit of everything for active travelers, from geoparks and waterfall hikes to paragliding. Though the weather here is always a bit unpredictable, the chances of wind and rain are lower in May. The water temperature also begins to warm up for must-do activities like snorkeling or swimming with dolphins, and with fewer swells than the winter months, beginner surfers will feel more comfortable trying to hang ten. As an added bonus, the biggest festival in the Azores – the Feasts of Santo Cristo dos Milagres – typically occurs in May.
Travelers looking for a vacation filled with unique and heart-pumping activities should set their sights on Cappadocia. This mountainous region in central Turkey is home to a UNESCO-listed national park, centuries-old underground cities, ancient cave dwellings, magnificent rock formations and more. Plus, thanks to average temperatures in the 60s and 70s in May, activities like soaring high above the Göreme Valley on a hot air balloon tour and driving a four-wheel-drive vehicle past fairy chimneys couldn't be more pleasant.
As one of the warmest and driest times of year in Palawan, May welcomes travelers with open arms. Take advantage of the minimal rainfall by experiencing all of the outdoor activities and attractions that this Philippine island has to offer –spoiler alert, there are a lot. Spend time relaxing on Palawan's white sand beaches, island-hopping or even swimming with gentle whale sharks. Water sports are popular in this destination as well, from diving Tubbataha Reef to kayaking El Nido's Big Lagoon.
Visiting Granada, Spain, in May is a no-brainer. Average temperatures in the mid-70s, blooming flower displays (at Generalife Gardens) and a full roster of events make this Andalusian city a must-visit in the spring. Día de la Cruz and Feria del Corpus Christi, two of the city's most popular celebrations, are both held in May, and travelers won't want to miss seeing Granada come alive with music, flamenco dancers and more. Save time during your trip for a guided tour of the Alhambra and strolling through the Albaicín neighborhood.
May falls within this Peruvian city's winter season, though you probably wouldn't notice thanks to its consistently mild temperatures (highs hover in the 60s). This month rarely sees rain showers, and you'll encounter fewer tourists at archaeological wonders like La Catedral – which sits in the restaurant- and coffee shop-filled Plaza de Armas – and Machu Picchu – a bucket list destination and UNESCO World Heritage Site located about 50 miles northwest of Cusco. If you're up for a challenge, hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. This difficult trek through the area's towering mountains takes about four days to complete.
With 33 beaches, this eastern Caribbean island is a sun worshipper's dream, and May temperatures in the upper 70s and 80s are perfect for basking on its white sands . Spend warm days venturing to offshore cays, exploring fishing villages and watching yacht races during the Anguilla Regatta, typically held every May. Since this is the start of the island's rainy season, the weather can be wetter and more humid than the winter months, but visitors will be rewarded with cheaper accommodations.
May is a great time for a trip to this seaside Spanish city before the heat and humidity become unbearable. Can't-miss architectural marvels to check out include Antoni Gaudí's whimsical Park Güell and the Gothic-style Sagrada Família. Budget time for visiting some of Barcelona's highly regarded museums, such as the Picasso Museum, and relax at Barceloneta beach before stopping at a nearby seafood restaurant for some of the best paella in the city. What's more, the city plays host to a number of events come May, including film and music festivals
Craggy coastline views, a world-famous aquarium and a superb farm-to-table dining scene draw tourists of all types to Monterey, California. Though temperatures here remain in the 60s for most of the year, rainfall drops significantly in May. Popular festivals also make this a great time of the year to visit. Come early in the month for the Pacific Grove Good Old Days Street Festival, which showcases local artisans and craft vendors, plus a variety of food booths. And near the end of the month, the three-day California Roots Music & Arts Festival celebrates reggae artists.
Visit Laguna Beach for a perfect sunny-and-70, laid-back beach vacation. May is part of this Southern California town's spring shoulder season, so you'll find fewer people on popular stretches of sand like Main Beach and Crescent Bay Beach. Plus, the quieter month is ideal for relaxation-focused activities, such as outdoor yoga and hiking. When travelers need a break from reconnecting with themselves or nature, they can check out Laguna Beach's thriving art scene, which includes hundreds of galleries, studios and public works of art.
Bright turquoise water, gorgeous white sand and lush green vegetation await vacationers in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Composed of 32 islands and cays, this Caribbean archipelago is perfect for a tropical getaway. May falls between the country's peak winter season and its hurricane-prone low season, making it an ideal time for scuba diving and snorkeling in the Tobago Cays Marine Park, swimming and soaking up some rays at Canouan's beaches and hiking to beautiful waterfalls like Dark View Falls. Travelers will also want to check out the country's 20-acre Botanical Gardens, the oldest available in the Western Hemisphere.
Victoria, British Columbia's capital city, sits on the southern portion of Vancouver Island. Not only does this Canadian destination boast comfortable highs in the low 60s in May, it is just a short ferry ride from Seattle (less than three hours), making it perfect for a quick weekend getaway . Spend your visit strolling through the 55-acre Butchart Gardens, which are bursting with colorful tulips and cherry blossoms come May, then get out on the water on a whale watching tour. Before heading home, don't forget to shop for souvenirs along Government Street.
Considered the birthplace of democracy and drama, Athens boasts a historical legacy that is hard to top. The main reason to visit is to see the ancient city's impressive ruins, which you'll find at the Acropolis and Ancient Agora. For an additional look at Athens' past, check out the incredible Greek artifacts on display at the National Archaeological Museum and the Benaki Museum of Greek Culture. May vacations are especially enjoyable thanks to comfortable daytime temps hovering in the mid-70s.
By late May, most of Yellowstone's trails and must-see attractions are open, welcoming eager nature enthusiasts seeking a breath of fresh air. The average 50-degree temperatures provide a brisk but comfortable atmosphere for a hike on one of the Old Faithful area's trails or a kayaking excursion on Yellowstone Lake. For a glimpse of wildlife, head to Lamar Valley to view wolf pups emerging from their dens. Keep in mind that if you visit during Memorial Day weekend, you'll likely run into crowds.
With warm weather year-round (average temperatures sit in the 80s), there's never a bad time to visit Singapore. But in May, this Asian city-state on the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula welcomes events such as the Singapore Cocktail Festival, the Singapore International Festival of Arts and the Singapore HeritageFest. When you're not enjoying your time at one of Singapore's cultural events, check out top attractions like Gardens by the Bay, a futuristic nature park that is home to the Supertree Observatory and the Cloud Forest.

Revolve Isn't Usually My Go-To for Fall Shopping, But These 36 Finds Won Me Over
In this editor's opinion, Revolve is one of the best retailers on the market when it comes to living your summer fantasy. European vacation ? Festivalwear ? Leo-themed birthday parties? Late-summer weddings ? More than likely, there's an outfit for that at Revolve. It's why I constantly find myself going back to the retailer every summer, but candidly, I usually flock to the shiny gowns and adorable two-piece sets available on its site when the weather is hot.
Don't get me wrong. I lightly browse Revolve year-round, but I don't check the site as regularly once the weather starts going down. After spending a good chunk of time browsing through the retailer's newest pre-fall arrivals and latest in-house label drops, I've fallen in love once again. Now that fall is around the corner, I was shocked to see Revolve's ultra-cool autumnal offerings. From chunky runway-inspired cardigans to staple denim silhouettes models off duty are picking up this year, Revolve has some of the best unexpected finds of fall 2023. Consider me shocked.
Below, browse and shop the 36 editor-approved fall items that made me do a double take when I saw them. Naturally, I'm adding them to my cart expeditiously before they sell out because—trust me—they will.
This has to be my favorite find of all.
A sweaterdress is always a must come September.
Red is set to be the color of 2023, and frankly, this jaw-dropping cardigan proves just that.
Cool-girl outfit incoming…
I'm all about silver accents this fall.
If you know, you know.
I did a double take after I saw how good the discount on these classic skinny jeans was.
Grab this essential knit skirt to layer with now that it's on sale.
This looks so similar to a cardigan on my wish list that's 10 times the price.
One word: yessss .
Perfect to wear alone with jeans or layered under a sleek bomber jacket.
This is your sign to get the viral Agolde jeans now that all sizes are in stock.
This jacket isn't a want. It's a need.
This color is everything to me.
I, for one, love wearing white after Labor Day. Something about chic, rich-looking white pants fills me with joy.
I'll say it once and never again: I'm a big fan of ankle cowboy boots.
Perfectly baggy.
You always need a simple black blazer.
I live and die by a pair of sleek black jeans.
Although there are only a few left in stock, I would be silly not to include this absolutely stunning Song of Style cardigan on my shopping list.
This fall, I'm wearing cute, minimal sandals with tights. (Trust me. It looks cool.)
Incredibly Miu Miu coded.
Pants so nice I needed to buy them twice.
Adding a longer denim shacket to a simple loungewear look takes you from comfy clothing to model off duty.
I mean, this color!
The perfect black maxi skirt for any outfit.
Paige makes some of the best jeans on the market.
I'm absolutely in love with this entire set.
The colder the weather, the deeper the wash in my book.
I have this tube dress in both white and black, and yep, it's just as good IRL as it looks online.
This looks extra cozy for chilly days.
I'm practically a trench-coat hoarder at this point.
Call me obsessed.
A simple pop of silver doesn't hurt anyone.
I'll leave you with this chic find.

‘Conan O’Brien Must Go’ Is the Best Version of Conan
The comedian’s new travel show proves he’s at his best away from the rigid confines of late night

After hundreds of episodes of Hot Ones , there’s little a guest can do to shake up the reliable formula of thoughtful questions combined with increasingly spicy chicken wings. But Conan O’Brien isn’t just any guest. Conan is someone who arrives with “Dr. Arroyo,” his personal physician, who, when asked where he went to medical school, answers “1998”; he deposits the remains of each wing into his jacket pocket; seemingly unfazed by the heat, he chugs hot sauces like they’re in tiny liquor bottles from a hotel minibar; he rubs the drumsticks on his hands, mouth, and, yes, nipples. Even as Conan’s pale complexion begins to resemble a ripe tomato, he remains committed to the bit, raising his body temperature by two degrees in a state of delirium. (According to Dr. Arroyo, of course.) Behold, the comedy GOAT:
Aside from being one of the funniest people on the planet, Conan seems to operate at the peak of his powers when surrounded by chaos. He was, for a time, our longest-tenured late-night host: He had a career on the airwaves that spanned nearly three decades, not unlike his icon, Johnny Carson. But while Conan could do the usual late-night beats in his sleep—the opening monologue, the celebrity interviews—he was never better than when things went completely off the rails. Consider: Conan used his last week as the short-lived host of The Tonight Show to waste NBC’s money on bringing a Kentucky Derby–winning horse to set; trolled his interns and staff in remote segments; introduced the world to his associate producer Jordan Schlansky, who gamely played a pretentious foil ; found an actual Tinder date with Dave Franco.
But some of Conan’s best work has been when he’s left the rigid confines of late night altogether. In 2015 Conan began a spinoff travel series, Conan Without Borders , in which he explored other countries armed with little more than his self-deprecating wit. “[Travel shows are] completely outside the realm of anything I do,” he explained to The New York Times in 2019. “They can be frightening because they take away a lot of control. I’m out there, I don’t often know what I’m going to encounter.” More often than not, it’s led to comedy gold. For instance, while he was taking a Japanese etiquette lesson, Conan’s instructor said that he wasn’t her type. The reason: “Face.”
Face . You could never script something so casually brutal; therein lies the magic. Most important, Conan never mocks other cultures to induce laughs—instead, he makes himself the butt of the joke, leaning into the bit of an ignorant tourist. But what truly elevated Conan Without Borders was how he could deftly weave in educational components and approach dark periods of a country’s history with genuine sensitivity. (Conan’s visit to the Armenian Genocide Memorial with his longtime assistant, Sona Movsesian, is among the most emotionally resonant moments of his career.) Thankfully, even though Conan has bowed out of the late-night scene, he’s doubling down on the travelogues.
On Thursday—Conan’s birthday, no less—Max released Conan O’Brien Must Go , a four-part series that takes him to Norway, Argentina, Thailand, and Ireland. These destinations were inspired by his podcast, Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend , which, in addition to celebrity interviews, features conversations with fans from around the globe. (The fans frequently invite Conan to come visit their neck of the woods; few would ever imagine he’d take them up on the offer.) While Conan O’Brien Must Go doesn’t rely on celebrity cameos, every episode opens with Werner Herzog voice-over narration about the grandeur of Mother Earth and how, to fully appreciate its natural wonders, we must sometimes “defile it.” Rest assured, Conan the Defiler is more than up to the task.
What separates Conan O’Brien Must Go from his first travel show is the incorporation of those fans, including a Norwegian fish farmer, an Irish medical student, and an Argentine painter. The fans understandably react to Conan showing up at their front door with a mixture of shock and glee, but before they even get a chance to compose themselves, he playfully roasts their respective living situations. Nobody gets it worse than Jarle, a young Norwegian rapper who still sleeps with soccer-themed bedsheets from childhood and has bread so stale it lands with an audible thud when Conan drops it. “I’ll wipe the floor with you,” Conan tells Jarle, “which actually might be a good idea, because I think you’d pick up a lot of lint.”
The Ringer ’s Streaming Guide
There’s a lot of TV out there. We want to help: Every week, we’ll tell you the best and most urgent shows to stream so you can stay on top of the ever-expanding heap of Peak TV.
But while it’s enjoyable in its own right to see Conan surprise fans, Conan O’Brien Must Go is never better than when he throws all caution to the wind mingling with the locals. One standout bit in Argentina involves a soccer team that invites Conan to its stadium, where he proceeds to take the sport’s reputation for theatrical diving to another level, with fake blood spurting out of his mouth. Argentina is also where Conan reunites with his archnemesis, Schlansky, who repeatedly corrects him on the proper pronunciation of tango over dinner. (Schlansky insists he’s right, even when the chefs disagree with him.) And while some comedians might have second thoughts if nobody seems entertained by their shenanigans, Conan always doubles down—if only for his own amusement. (The Argentine gauchos did not enjoy his singing talents.)
Despite all the silliness that’s part of the Conan experience, Conan O’Brien Must Go also manages to have moments of real profundity. For one, Conan uses the Ireland episode to explore his own heritage, culminating with a visit to the patch of rural farmland that belonged to his ancestors. It puts everything into perspective: His forebears fled the Irish famine for America, and their descendant returned with a camera crew and decades of fame and success under his belt. Truly, what are the odds? But what really tugs at the heartstrings is a brief video from the Norwegian fish farmer Kai, who explains how Conan’s visit to his small town completely changed his life. It’s genuinely heartwarming stuff, proving that comedy can achieve more than just laughs when it’s approached with curiosity and empathy.
It’s been three years since Conan last graced our screens, and his absence really underlined that he’s one of one. You can’t imagine anyone else showing up to a foreign country and reacting to situations on the fly without everything falling apart at the seams. But as Conan proved time and again during his late-night tenure, that’s where great comedy can be found: among the people, whether it’s in the streets of Harlem or a Civil War reenactment . Conan’s late-night career went through many phases , all of them worthy, but in retrospect, it feels like the format was holding him back. Conan O’Brien Must Go isn’t just a hilarious return to form: It’s one of the best things he’s ever done. Let’s hope the show’s Season 2 renewal will be a matter of when, not if. With Conan at the helm, there are so many more countries worth exploring—and defiling.

The Best Compression Socks For Travel, According To A Podiatrist

The best travel compression socks, also known as flight socks, decrease swelling in your feet and legs to help improve your circulation—and comfort—most effectively during long trips. After analyzing the different options and speaking with New York podiatrist Dr. Nelya Lobkova , DPM, we selected Trtl Compression Socks as the best compression socks for travel overall. For wide calves, we like LevSox Wide Calf Compression Socks and for an affordable pair you can stock up on (and buy on Amazon), Charmking Compression Socks are your best bet.
The best travel compression socks decrease swelling in your feet and legs to help improve your ... [+] comfort during long trips.
Air travel does bring to mind certain health concerns. The changes in pressure create “a higher risk of developing a blood clot in the deep veins of the legs, called a DVT—deep venous thrombosis,” says Lobkova. “Wearing compression socks helps compress the veins and decreases the chance of clot occurring during flight travel.” Ahead, you’ll find our top picks, all approved by Lobkova and broken out with important specs (quick tip: compression socks are measured in mmHg, the same unit as blood pressure) plus buying advice and answers to frequently asked questions at the end.

Best Overall Compression Socks For Travel
Fun prints with added cushioning, trtl compression socks.
Sizes: S to L | Materials: Coolmax, lycra | Compression level: 15 to 21 mmHg
With an ideal-for-travel compression level, according to Lobkova, a breathable Coolmax knit fabric to eliminate sweaty feet and a cushioned sole for added comfort, these Trtl travel socks scored the highest points in our review. Lycra adds stretchiness and bounce-back shape retention, and this pair comes in a selection of prints—from chevron to colorful stripes—all while preventing swelling. Buying tip: These socks come in three sizes; to ensure a proper fit, measure your ankle and calf circumferences and follow Trtl’s online sizing guide.
Best Budget Compression Socks For Travel
An 8-pack at an unbeatable price, charmking compression socks.
Sizes: S/M to L/XL | Materials: 85% nylon, 15% spandex | Compression level: 15 to 20 mmHg
Available in 8-packs of neutrals, brights or bold patterns, Charmking’s compression socks have the most important features you need while also being wallet-friendly. Targeted compression zones provide support while a reinforced heel and toe add comfort and blister protection. The brand recently updated their fabric composition to enhance breathability and help regulate your temperature and improved their performance stretch, which makes this pair a little easier to pull on than other compression socks.
Best Wide Calf Compression Socks For Travel
For that perfect fit, levsox wide calf compression socks.
Sizes: M to XL | Materials: 77% nylon, 23% spandex | Compression level: 15 to 20 mmHg
With a 360-degree woven construction, LevSox’s compression socks are designed to fit wide calves specifically with targeted support, graduated compression and long-lasting comfort, whether you slip them on for a long flight or if you’re standing all day at museums. The nylon blend is lightweight, durable and breathable, and the sizing is specifically designed to prevent that dreaded “too-tight” feeling at the top of the sock. Just be sure to reference their size chart for the best fit.
Best Bamboo Compression Socks For Travel
Soft fabric with naturally breathable comfort.
Ostrichpillow
Ostrichpillow Bamboo Compression Socks
Sizes: S to L | Materials: 50% bamboo, 25% recycled polyester, 10% recycled nylon, 15% spandex Oeko-Tex | Compression level: 8 to 15 mmHg
Ostrichpillow, best known for its inventive travel pillows , stands out from the pack with these light support, bamboo-blend compression socks. With a fabric that naturally encourages air flow—not to mention has antibacterial and odor-resistant qualities—these socks are designed to relieve muscle soreness, improve blood flow and reduce leg and ankle swelling during travel. They have a lighter compression that’s suitable for everyday wear, and with its extra cushioned sole and reinforced heel and toe, you might end up wearing them even when you’re not on a trip.
Best Antimicrobial Compression Socks For Travel
Copper-infused fabric for ultimate protection.
Copper Compression
Copper Compression Powerknit Knee High Socks
Sizes: S to L | Materials: 85% copper-infused nylon, 15% spandex | Compression level: 15 to 20 mmHg
Copper Compression embraces the natural antimicrobial and antibacterial benefits of copper, infusing it into nylon threads, for toe-to-knee protection. These knee-high socks have the ideal compression level for flying, but are also comfortable enough for high-performance activities like running or hiking, without the sweaty feet feeling that can come with strenuous activity. Expect reduced inflammation, extra arch and ankle support (the brand has other arch support products for foot pain and plantar-fasciitis-sufferers, too) and lower lactic acid in your muscles, reducing the chance of stiffness during travel and beyond.
Best Compression Slipper-Socks For Travel
Cozy to wear for long periods and move around in, comrad cozygrip compression slipper socks.
Sizes: S to L | Materials: 82% polyester, 16% nylon, 2% spandex 81% | Compression level: 10 to 15 mmHg
These slipper-socks from Comrad combine a light compression with cozy comfort. The dual-layer design is ideal for times when you want to take your shoes off on the plane or for relaxing in your hotel room after a long day. They provide light support up the leg while silicone grips on the soles protect against sliding on smooth surfaces or slippery floors. This pair is on the lower end of the compression scale, so they might not deliver the same health benefits as some of the higher compression level picks on our list, especially if you have circulation issues.
Best Stylish Compression Socks For Travel
Sleek pair that's effective and good-looking, sockwell moderate graduated compression sock.
Sizes: S/M to M/L | Materials: 32% merino wool, 31% rayon, 32% stretch nylon, 5% spandex | Compression level: 15 to 20 mmHg
Sockwell’s lifestyle compression socks, available in both men’s and women’s sizing, are a far cry from the bland compression stockings of the past. This pair has four strategic zones of graduated compression to minimize swelling during travel and other prolonged sitting activities and a sleek design that comes in beautiful shades. The high-performance merino wool-blend is naturally moisture-wicking, thermoregulating and odor-resistant, too.
Best Ankle Length Compression Socks For Travel
Gentle compression with added foot support, paplus ankle compression socks.
Sizes: S/M to L/XL | Materials: Nylon, spandex | Compression level: 15 to 20 mmHg
For times when full-length compression socks feel too restrictive, a shorter height compression style still offers extra support focused in the ankle and foot area (some reviewers say it even helps with their plantar fasciitis symptoms). Expect a moderate improvement of circulation, reduced swelling and a breathable, moisture-wicking feel, even after a long day of travel. Fit note: Some say these socks run large, especially for those who wear up to a women’s size 7.
Best Open Toe Compression Sock For Travel
No more overheating toes, doc miller open toe compression socks.
Sizes: S to 3XLT | Materials: Nylon, spandex | Compression level: 15 to 20 mmHg
If you like compression socks but don’t enjoy the feeling of constricted toes, consider an open-toe style. Doc Miller’s have graduated compression that extends up to the knee, a smoothing, stretchy nylon-blend fabric that’s thin and easy to pull on, plus an exposed toe for breathable comfort. The inclusive range fits a variety of calf measurements and their tall sizes add an impressive two inches to the length to the standard fit, ensuring a proper fit for just about everyone. If your toes feel cold or you want protection while wearing shoes, simply slip on regular cotton ankle socks for a soft layer that won’t change the compression benefits.
Best Travel Compression Socks Bundle
For bringing multiple pairs on your trip, comrad 3-pack knee high compression socks with packing cube.
Sizes: S to XL, includes wide sizes | Materials: 91% nylon, 9% spandex | Compression level: 15 to 20 mmHg
Comrad created this kit with travelers in mind. It features three pairs of easy-on-off compression socks—with fun ombré designs—and a handy packing cube that fits into your luggage or carry-on. Your feet and legs will feel energizing relief during a flight, and since you can pack multiple pairs, you can still have compression socks left over for sight-seeing and exploring without having to do laundry. FYI: the ripstop nylon packing cube expands to hold up to 10 pairs of compression socks or other undergarments and accessories, as a convenient bonus.

How We Choose Best Compression Socks For Travel
When researching the best compression socks for travel, we considered both large and small brands that specialize in compression products and travel gear. We read through hundreds of real customer reviews, tested some products ourselves and tapped the expertise of board-certified podiatrist Dr. Nelya Lobkova, DPM of Step Up Footcare in New York City about health benefits, sizing and the do’s and don’ts of wearing compression socks for travel. Most of the socks featured here have a compression level of 15 to 20 mmHg, which is the recommended grade for travel.
What To Consider When Shopping For Best Compression Socks For Travel
Not all travel compression socks are alike. There are different styles, levels of compression and sizes. Here’s what to consider as you shop:
- Fit: The key to compression socks working correctly is a proper fit. If they’re too tight,”they can cause a constriction in circulation to the feet and toes,” says Dr. Lobkova. “This will cause the toes or feet to feel numb and you’ll have the urge to remove them.” Likewise, if your socks are too loose, they won’t provide ideal compression benefits. Pay attention to sizing guides—some socks have gendered sizing or a shoe size equivalency—and calf width. Dr. Lobkova recommends trying on socks or measuring your calf at the end of the day, when swelling is at its highest point. If you have diabetes or peripheral artery disease, your calf circumference can actually vary throughout the day, so Dr. Lobkova suggests “measuring [your calf] when the swelling is the highest, usually with the leg suspended or while standing” to ensure the most accurate measurement for your compression socks.
- Compression Level: Most compression socks for travel have graduated compression, meaning they’re tighter in the foot, gradually easing up at the top of the sock. Average wearers without any vein issues should aim for a low level of compression for travel, usually in the 15 to 20 mmHg range. “For those with venous insufficiency, a high level of compression—30 to 40 mmHg—is advised,” says Dr. Lobkova.
- Height: Most compression socks for travel are knee-highs, but there are also quarter- and ankle-length styles available. Shorter socks have focused compression in the foot and ankle areas while the longer styles’ graduated compression extends to right below the knee. Both lengths are designed to help improve circulation during travel, but different wearers might have different preferences for comfort and ease of use. It might be helpful to test a few styles to find the most comfortable and effective height.
Are Flight Socks The Same As Compression Socks?
Yes, flight socks are simply another term for compression socks that are worn during a plane trip. According to Dr. Lobkova, flight socks usually have an average grade of compression in the 15 to 20 mmHg range.
What’s The Best Level Of Compression Socks For Travel?
Experts recommend wearing socks with a compression level of 15 to 20 mmHg during a flight if you don’t have venous insufficiency or varicose veins. For travelers who suffer from those issues, Dr. Lobkova says 30 to 40 mmHg is recommended “in order to deliver effective compression.”
How Long Can You Wear Compression Socks During A Flight?
Compression socks can be worn during any flight, regardless if it’s an intercontinental long-haul or just a couple hours long. It might be easiest to put on your compression socks at the airport gate, before you board the plane, as wrangling into a pair of tight-fitting socks in the cabin could prove to be difficult and disruptive to your neighbors. If your seat has a lay-flat option, however, take off your compression socks before your power nap. “Lying down can constrict blood flow going to the feet and toes,” says Dr. Lobkoba. The goal of wearing compression socks for travel is to improve circulation in your feet and legs, and laying down can have an adverse constriction effect.
