The 1975 Still At Their Very Best 2023 UK & Ireland tour setlist in full: Songs Matty Healy and co perform at concerts across UK and Ireland

The 1975 are back at, by their own admission, their very best.

The influential pop-rock group, comprising Matty Healy, George Daniel, Adam Hann and Ross MacDonald, are taking their 2022 Number 1 album Being Funny In A Foreign Language on tour across the UK and Ireland this summer.

Their fifth-consecutive Number 1 LP in the UK, Being Funny In A Foreign Language saw Matty and co. team up with producer du jour Jack Antonoff for a body of work that sticks to the band's core '80s-inspired sound, deepening it in interesting new directions.

MORE: Where every The 1975 song and album charted in the UK

See the setlist for the tour in full below. The show takes tracks from each of the band's respective eras - their influential eponymous debut, 2016 mainstream pop breakthrough I like it when you sleep for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it, 2018's analytical A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships and 2020 scattershot Notes On A Conditional Form.

It seems like you're in for a real treat each night at the tour too, with Matty's performances frequently going viral. What will he do this time? Kiss a fan? Maybe eat some raw meat again? Bring out Taylor Swift again?

Always keeping us on our toes, that one.

Fans have been treated to exciting performances of their hit songs like “The 1975,” “Be My Mistake” and “Looking For Somebody To Love.” They weren’t the only ones onstage, though, as they also have up-and-coming singer Dora Jar join them as their opener for many of their shows.

At their Madison Square Garden stop, frontman Matty Healy welcomed his father, Tim , up on the stage, where he sang the band’s song “All I Need To Hear.”

The tour follows the 1975’s previous tour, At Their Very Best, which began in November 2022 and ended in August this year. Still…At Their Very Best is set to end in March 2024, making it almost two years of back-to-back concerts.

It comes as no surprise that Healy has suggested a break after their tour ends next year.

“After this tour, we will be going on an indefinite hiatus with shows,” Healy said during an Instagram Live.

The 1975: At Their Very Best Tour Live in Bangkok 2023

The 1975

Time Out says

The most on-demand British band is heading back to Bangkok next year!

Hope you have a big concert fund ready for this, because The 1975 is coming back to Bangkok in April next year!

The alt-pop band from Manchester is set to bring their  At Their Best  tour to Thailand on April 4, 2023 at Impact Arena. Brought to you by up-and-coming live music organizer Mangosteenfest , the upcoming show is a highly anticipated one for The 1975's fans after the band has returned to the global music scene with the release of their fifth album  Being Funny in a Foreign Language .

Like their previous records,  Being Funny in a Foreign Language  has received acclaim from critics and fans alike thanks to their sonic departure to a more stripped down sound assisted by mega producer Jack Antonoff (whose past work includes wide-ranging collaborations with Taylor Swift, Lorde, Lana Del Rey, and St. Vincent).

The  At Their Best  show in Bangkok will also be the third time for the "Chocolate" hitmaker to play a gig here, following their first back in 2015 in support of their self-titled debut and again in 2019 for the two-night show for their pop-leaning second album  I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it .

Philippine Concerts

Concerts, gigs, live performances and other musical events, the 1975 at their very best with manila fans, a solid band, a solid setlist, and a solid crowd. the 1975 at their very best in manila was truly what its name was — the very best..

The 1975 has made several appearances in the Philippine concert scene since they made their debut in a series of mall performances in 2014. The band, which consists of Matty Healy on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Adam Hann on lead guitar, Ross MacDonald on bass, and George Daniel on drums, will then return to the nation to perform their first arena show in 2015, headline an indoor music festival in 2016, and play a second arena show in 2019.

The band has developed a close bond with concertgoers in the Philippines for almost ten years, and each time, that bond has grown and deepened. Matty expressed his gratitude for Manila’s outstanding support over the years. The thing is with Manila, you guys kind of have dibs on The 1975 cause you were the first ones to like us. We were bigger in Manila before we were bigger in the UK,” he said. And it was very clear during their recently ended back-to-back performances on May 3 and 4 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

A sold-out MOA Arena welcomed the band on May 3 as they kicked off the first of two nights of The 1975 At Their Very Best in Manila concerts. The band’s current tour, which began in North America in November 2022 and then traveled to Europe, Latin America, Asia, and Oceania, included a stop in the Philippines. Manila was the final stop on the fourth leg of the tour, which will take them back to Europe, Asia, and North America from June to September.

Wallice, an American singer-songwriter, opened for The 1975, delivering songs such as “90s American Superstar,” “Listen Here,” “Hey Michael,” “Punching Bag,” “John Wayne,” her most recent tune “Best Friend,” her personal favorite “Funeral,” and “23.” The musician thanked the group for letting her join them on tour in a heartfelt statement. “It’s been a dream come true,” she remarked, “Thank you, The 1975!”

Manila you were amazing ❤️ — Wallice (@wallice) May 5, 2023

the 1975 asia tour 2023 setlist

Minutes later, A Theatrical Performance of an Intimate Moment commenced with Matty, Adam, Ross, and George, appearing on screen while riding animal toys — the most unserious entrance we witnessed and an entrance we won’t have any other way.

The stage setup was straightforward. The camera work was stunning, dramatic, and entrancing. The setlist was a beautiful surprise.

The band opened the May 3 show with “Looking for Somebody (to Love)” and “Happiness” off their 2022 studio album B eing Funny in a Foreign Language . Then they played “Ugh!” from 2015, which was followed by “Oh Caroline” from Being Funny in a Foreign Language . Moving forward, the band performed “Me & You Together Song” and “If You’re Too Shy (Let Me Know)” from the Notes on a Conditional Form album. And Manila was all for it, demonstrating once more the astounding enthusiasm of the Philippine concertgoers as they euphorically greet every beat and sing along to every word at the top of their lungs. The song “I’m In Love With You” from the album Being Funny in a Foreign Language was also performed live in Manila.

Matty paused to officially welcome the crowd to The 1975. “We are! Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to The 1975! Thank you so much for coming. We are very happy to be here,” he said, pointing out that coming to Manila is always a great experience. “We are kinda ten times bigger than we should be.”

The 1975 performed “fallingforyou” from their 2013 extended play IV , paying tribute to the band’s almost decade-long relationship with the Philippines. And the bliss persisted with back-to-back “About You,” the synth-goodness of “An Encounter,” “Robbers,” and “Somebody Else.” They also played “Pressure” and “It’s Not Living (If It’s Not With You)”. Matty briefly sampled “Man in the Mirror” by Michael Jackson before switching to “Paris,” “Me,” and “Love It If We Made It.”

The audience’s voices reverberated loudly and clearly as they sang along to The 1975’s “I Always Wanna Die (Sometimes)” in exquisite harmony. After an emotive performance of “I Always Wanna Die (Sometimes),” “The Sound,” “Sex,” and the evening’s closing song, “Give Yourself A Try,” brought back the party vibe. Everyone allowed themselves to become lost in the moment, be on their feet, and raise their voices to every word, causing the arena to shake with the intensity of the jumping and the echoing of everyone’s voices. These are the moments. This is the memory— an encounter we will choose to have every time.

The 1975 At Their Very Best in Manila was everything its name suggests — the very best. It was euphoric. It was Happiness .

The 1975

The 1975 has announced the “Still… At Their Very Best” fall tour, the band’s biggest North American tour to date. The Matty Healy-led group will take their fifth album, “Being Funny in a Foreign Language,” across the U.S. and Canada for the second time since its October 2022 release.

The tour will kick off Sept. 26 in Sacramento, Calif., and end Dec. 2 in Seattle.

The band had teased the tour on social media throughout the month, posting vague visuals and linking to an online registration form.

Popular on Variety

The tour evolved throughout its initial North American run, from altered setlists to surprise guest cameos from Phoebe Bridgers and Bleachers. Healy made headlines for bringing fans onstage during “Robbers” and passionately kissing them.

Variety praised the band’s latest performance at Madison Square Garden , calling the concert a “captivating exposition from a band that embraces nearly every pop trope yet demands to be taken seriously.” The band will return to the famed New York City venue on Nov. 14.

A fan presale begins June 21 at 10 a.m. local time, while public tickets will go on sale June 23 at 10 a.m. on the 1975’s website .

Live reviews

I saw them play at the Starlite Room in Edmonton which is a small, slightly sketchy venue downtown that I personally love. It holds about 300 people probably. My best friend and I got there to wait outside in line about 7 hours before doors opened to guarantee that we got close to the stage, which we did. But the whole time we were waiting, all of the band members were walking in and out of the front doors, or they would linger around the venue. At one point I ran to the Tim Hortons down the street to grab something to eat, and I was behind George.. Like it was insane.

But anyways , the show.

My friends and I were in the front left of the stage. And at Starlite, they have no barriers so you're pressed right up against the stage. Sirsly came on first, which I hadn't heard of them before the show. They did an incredible job opening the show. Next was Bad Suns, which I left the show being a huge fan of them. They have the perfect young alternative rock feel. They did a wonderful job connecting to the crowd and their whole set just flew by. I was lucky enough to meet them after the show to chat with and they were such lovely guys. And next was the 1975. The word to describe how great of a show these guys put on is something beyond my vocabulary. They are edgy, raunchy, loud and extreme. I have always fancied the lead singer Matt Healy, and he knows just how to work the crowd. He loves to tease, chat and just flaunt himself at everyone. There was no equipment set up in front of my friends and I, so we had lots of opportunities where the band members would come right up to us. A moment that was a highlight for me was during Talk! Matty knelt down grabbed my hand and sang the line, "I've been thinking lots about your mouth.' It was a big deal for me. HAHAHA. But I could honestly write for hours about these guys. Their connection with everyone was undeniable. I'd say my favourite song to see like was probably "Sex". Its the last song they performed and Matty introduced it saying, "this song is about fucking each other." But its incredible to see live where everyone knows all the words and just goes insane, including the band.

Then after the show, the band came out and met every single person who waited. It was magical. Matt was the first to come out and because of how calm he was, the crowd literally waited in close to silence. No screaming or fan-girling. It was sweet to see him take his time with every single fan. He gave everyone hugs and listened to everything they had to say. I explained to him how much the bands music meant to me personally and he gave me three hugs and seemed so gracious to hear everything I had to say. Honestly, he is an angel. I didn't have the chance to meet the members sadly but next time i guess.

Anyways, never pass up an opportunity to see these guys... ever. Its been almost 2 1/2 months and the post concert depression is stronger than ever.

My first concert. My favourite band.

Belsonic music festival is an intimate venue so I was in touching distance of the foursome. As the intro played in, the crowd erupted as we caught the first sight of Ross (bass guitar), followed by George (drums), Matty (vocals) and finally Adam (rhythm guitar). The boys filed on to 'Love Me' and got the party started. Favourites from both albums followed such as 'A Change of Heart' and 'Menswear'.

As the sky began to darken Matty decided it was time to address the audience, cigarette in hand. Stating he loved Belfast and reminiscing about the time they first played Belfast to only 25 people, I could hear loyal fans shouting, "we were there! We were there!" Matty continued to talk about the world and how a 'revolution' was imminent, saying that it looked a lot more "emo these days". I tried to capture his little speech on my phone like many others, when Matty told us all to put our phones down for one minute, telling us we would "enjoy the next ten minutes much more than if it was on our iPhone." The sea of people dropped their devices (me included) and swayed to the transcendent sound of 'Me'.

The second half of the show was truly electric with a rainbow flashing on stage to 'Loving Someone' as two shared a kiss to my left. Then came the ever a party starter 'Girls' and 'She's American'. The true spectacle of the night was 'Sex' however, a light show in its own right, and a religious experience.

Finishing their set the crowd chanted, "one more song! One more song!" The guys obliged and then some, coming back out to play three scintillating tracks: the hymn - like 'If I Believe You', the classic 'Chocolate' and banging 'The Sound'.

The 1975 are a band that not only perform with such energy track after track, but put on an impressive light show and with a prophetic front man foretelling the future, I would recommend anyone witness their excellence for themselves.

Well lets just say this: They rocked it but it didn't start out that way.

First let me say that I am 51 and have been going to live shows, big and small, for 35 years. So, I saw Depeche Mode way back in the day and this show felt very much like what I saw back in the 80's. For you younger ones, and The1975 fans, you will really enjoy it but for the first half of the show, I felt like I was watching Depeche.

The "show" and set are really cool. I have never seen any light show like that before but the problem was that the entire band basically stayed in place and left the "entertaining" part to the lead singer. I have no problem with that but I felt sorry for him as this was their first time in Red Rocks and for those of you who don't know, while it is an amazing venue, it is pretty hight in altitude and every band that comes through complains about not being able to breath. You could see that it was a struggle but he was still awesome and pulled it off.

The sound was great! The band was very tight and way better than what I saw on SNL. I am not a huge fan of their new stuff because I became a huge fan back in 2014 when I saw them at a small club in San Diego. But the new stuff was still good and it made the end great because they finally got to the rocking out.

The opening acts, The Japanese House and Wolf Alice were really good opening act and Wolf Alice now has a new fan in me.

To sum it up, they did a good job headlining and it was totally worth the time and money but unless you are a The1975 fan, you may feel wanting during the first half. Make sure you stay for the end!

The 1975 was amazing live. I've been to several concerts and I can easily say that this concert was one of the best ones I've ever been to. I love their music. I think they're a very unique and talented band, and it amazes me how the different instruments and sounds blend together perfectly to create a beautiful song telling a beautiful story.

Matty Healy was the one who mainly talked to us, and the things he did on stage were incredible. There were beautiful moments such as during a song called "Me", he asked everyone to put their phones away and just enjoy the music, and then during the second half of the song, he asked everyone to turn the flashlight on on their phone, and wave it in the air to the song. It was such a beautiful sight.

At some point in the concert, he kindly asked everyone to take a step back because the people in front were getting squashed. He also went backstage for a while to get water for the people in the audience who were dying of thirst. He also said some funny things such as "the weather does horrible things to my hair". I just think that Matty is such a genuine, kind and great man.

Apart from Matty's great character, the music was really good, and all 4 band members put on an amazing show. There were more upbeat tracks such as "Girls" and "Sex" which got everyone pumped and dancing, interchanged with groovy instrumentals and slow, sad songs such as "Fallingforyou" and "Me" which touched the audience. Great music, great band, and great live.

The 1975 is one band you definitely should catch live.

This concert was certainly a shock.

I had seen the 1975 about a year ago at Ally Pally and although that was a good concert, I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would and that meant that I didn't have high hopes to see them again this time.

However I was proved wrong.

The concert was absolutely awesome! Travel to the venue was straightforward and not too busy for starters and waiting in the cold for 2 hours was not as cold as I had feared. I was standing and although I wasn't that close to them, the venue had a slanted floor, so the combination of this and my highest heels allowed for a good view.

Everyone there tended to be the same age as me or older, that is over seventeen, and I felt that this added to the experience as we were all as excited and into the music as each other.

There was some moshing and although I tried to avoid it at first, I joined the pit during "Sex" and that was definitely the right choice; although it was very violent and fast and probably dangerous, it was loads of fun and got me into the music and got me right to the front!

The boys' playing was just brilliant, they really made us all get completely hypnotised by the music and they played some of their new album which sounded great. Matty looked really fit and shoutout to the guy on the sax, he was absolutely wicked!

They were just brilliant so as soon as I got home I bought a ticket to see them again in March hahaha. Definitely recommend!

The 1975's Melbourne show was insanely energetic even though Matty was apparently not feeling 100%. You wouldn't have known that he'd tweeted the night before apologising for being sick and mentioning that People might be dropped off the setlist due to his voice not being able to cope. Luckily, it was not dropped and proved an amazing opening song to get everyone up and dancing. There were three songs which really stood out over the course of the show: firstly, Love It If We Made It. It was apt that the climate strike had taken place the actual day that the Melbourne show was on, so Matty took it upon himself to do a little spiel about climate change which was (as usual) inspiring. The song itself was full of energy and great staging. Love Me sounded much better live than in studio which was a surprise for me! Finally, Sex was absolutely fantastic: everyone was screaming every word and Matty jumping up and down on stage. My only issue was that Girls was taken off the setlist which is understandable seeing as they're probably sick to death of playing it but I think they owe it to everyone to play their classics like Girls (Arctic Monkeys would never drop Do I Wanna Know despite Alex constantly complaining about how he's sick of it nor would Green Day drop American Idiot!). Genuinely an 8.5/10 and a fantastic night. (Matty in the pleated skirt was also a highlight!!!)

I attended the 1975 concert at LC Pavilion in Columbus, OH. This is a great venue that is standing room only. The pit at the front of the stage is always crowded and filled with fans ready for a good show. 1975 delivered!! The guys used the stage and interacted well with the crowd. They got everyone involved and singing along. They were all dressed in black pants and various black shirts. They used a nice back drop of the single lighted rectangle from the album art. The stage lighting was great and they used lots of smoke along with the lights to really highlight the band members.

They opened with The City which was truly awesome, they played a long intro to it to get the crowd really riled up! At one point they had the crowd hold up all their cell phones like lighters, it seemed like a special moment for them and they appreciated the large crowd in attendance. The highlight of the show was definitely their current hit song Chocolate.

Set list included, Milk, M.O.N.E.Y., So Far (It's Alright), Talk, She Way Out, Settle Down, Heart Out, Me, fallingforyou, You, Girls, Robbers, and Sex. Overall a great show and one of the better live shows I have seen.

From Vancouver, BC. PNE Forum May 1, 2017.

First opening band was Colouring, and I have to give them kudos for a job well done! I might be searching for their tunes. Second opening band instrumentals and music were good, but I was not a fan of the vocals.

On to The 1975: THANK YOU for an INCREDIBLE SHOW! The light show was AMAZING! STILL the best I have EVER seen! Matty kept all his attire on, lit up, and I swear there was a bottle of beer and a couple of wine glasses on stage. He danced on the piano and beckoned the sexy sax player. Mesmerizing. Merch was stocked! Unfortunately they did not carry the rose gold necklace I wanted. Set list was a mix of both albums and Medicine. He played 'Me' after kindly asking to put our phones away. Live in the moment for a memory no one else needs to know. Also played 'Robbers' after mentioning he'd never play it again, but they'll play it anyway. I was surprised how ok the acoustics were in the cement building of the PNE Forum. My friend and I had a tonne of fun! If you want a band that can give hot, steamy, sultry sex to your eyes and ears, see this band. MUSIC FOR CARS 2018!!!!

I have been a huge fan since their debut album, and last night got to see The 1975(first time) at the LC Pavilion in Columbus Ohio.Swim Deep opened for them and there was much anticipation and waiting for The 1975 to come on stage. There was a sensual smoky sound then the lights turned out and BOOM! They came out and killed the show with "Love Me". I'm 35 and I was sweating, singing, yelling and had the time of my life at this concert.Thier music is something special my 17 year old daughter and I share the same love for. Every damn song was phenomenal with the lights and screens.Matty interacted with the crowd throughout the night while sipping his wine. The long line outside, the standing was worth it in the end. Everyone loves The 1975, all ages and backgrounds it was exhilarating singing to all the songs with the crowd. They put on such an mind blowing show beginning to end. You can definitely feel the love.I can't wait for the new album, and the 2016 tour. When I listen to them I get lost in my feelings with thier atmospheric, sexy vibe. Great show from my favorite guys.

Starting with the opening act, it was really good DJ set.

The 1975 is band you shouldn't miss live. Really energetic even during slow songs. They're perfect live, as if you were listening to the album but with an extra vibe.

For this tour they have huge led screens everywhere with great graphics setting up the mood which is awesome and not usual as some bands do have led screens alternating graphics and live shots of themselves.

In one point of the concert I guess in one side of the Golden Circle people started pushing too hard against the barricade and Matt (front man) told them to hush and move two steps backwards, i guess there were some girls in trouble because he kept asking if someone was ok. He really cares about the fans, most artist would've let security handle it as they watched horrified.

This is one of my favorites bands and for sure they're awesome! So if you know too little this guy's go ahead and listen to more songs and watch videos and if they're coming on tour somewhere near you go see them live ;)

The Cult announce 40th anniversary UK tour for winter 2024

The dates conclude with a stop at London’s Royal Albert Hall

The Cult perform live.

The Cult have announced details of a UK tour, which will celebrate their 40th year as a band. Find upcoming dates and ticket details below.

Announced today (April 16), the shows are set for later this year and will see the iconic ‘80s rock group perform in 10 cities across the country. The dates come in celebration of a huge milestone for Ian Astbury and co., as this year marks four decades since the band formed as we recognise them today – swapping their name from the original title ‘Death Cult’ into ‘The Cult’.

“Following up from the great energy of Death Cult 8323 shows, I’m looking forward to bringing that sense of celebration of the band’s music, and the communion with our fans, to Cult 8424,” guitarist Billy Duffy said of the new announcement. “CFFC. Let the ceremony commence!”

The shows all take place this winter, and kick off on October 21 with an opening night at the De Montfort Hall in Leicester. This is followed the next night with a gig at Swansea Arena (22), followed by stops in Edinburgh (24), Manchester (25), Bristol (27), York (29) and Newcastle (30).

The final run of the new tour dates will take place in the first week of November; including a slot at Guildhall in Portsmouth on the 1st, and a show at Civic Hall in Wolverhampton the following night. The dates wrap up with a closing show at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall in London on November 4.

Tickets go on sale this Friday (April 19) at 10am BST. Visit here to get tickets and find a full list of tour dates below.

The Cult 2024 tour dates are:

Recommended.

OCTOBER 21 – Leicester, De Montfort Hall 22– Swansea, Swansea Arena    24 – Edinburgh, Usher Hall  25 – Manchester, O2 Apollo  27 – Bristol, Beacon     29 – York, Barbican 30 – Newcastle, O2 City Hall

NOVEMBER: 1 – Portsmouth, Guildhall 2 – Wolverhampton, Civic Hall 4 – London, Royal Albert Hall

The dates for 2024 come following a tour the band embarked on last year, celebrating 40 years since their first formation under the name ‘Death Cult’ .

Taking place around the UK, Ireland and the US, the tour was called ‘Death Cult 8323’ and saw Duffy and Astbury return to play iconic venues they previously performed in at the start of their career.

The live shows focused on Death Cult and their eponymous EPs, and also boasted a setlist that spanned “the three phases of the band, from Southern Death Cult, to Death Cult, and The Cult’s first two albums: ‘Dreamtime’ (1984) and ‘Love’ (1985).”

More recently, Billy Duffy joined Johnny Marr on stage in Frome last summer to play tracks by The Smiths and Depeche Mode .

The on-stage appearance was the latest of the multiple times the two musicians have joined forces, as they both have a long history of playing music together – stemming back to their adolescent years.
