Precise, stiff, light. No funky noise''s.

Great bike, good price. I had a Cannondale "Mario Copy" R4000, swapped off my Dura Ace group to the Trek and have the following to report: 1) It is lighter 2) It goes uphill quicker 3) It goes downhill very confidently 4) It handles better 5) It has a very nice feel in the bottom bracket area, extremely stiff in the climb. 6) It tracks over bumps better. All in all it is a little better than the CAAD 3 in many area''s. I am satisfied, and thanks to Danny who set the bike up and priced it so that I had to buy.

Light, solid, you want to ride it all day.

Cane Creek headset loosens up after 3 rides, I will put a summer on this headset and go KING.

I bought the frame on impulse, but actually have wanted one for a quite awhile. The 5900 is tempting but sticker shock and an integrated headset design kept me from buying. I went by the bike shop one January afternoon to see the 5500 frame and immediately bought it. Its built up with Shimano Dura Ace and some left over Spinergy Rev X wheels. I use a Brooks saddle so this bike is not at it''s potential for feather lightness. My first impressions are: *lighter *stiffer *climbs better *tracks well My last bike was a Cannondale R4000 and the Trek is a little better in all area''s. The Cannondale was a very good bike, the Trek borders on greatness.

97 Cannondale R4000 Mario Copy

Light, stiff, great acceleration, superb climber, good ride quality.

Have to hang on tight during high speed decents in heavy winds. Crappy paint that scratches easy.

As ashamed as I am to admit it I too jumped on the Trek bandwagon. I purchased the frame on a whim while shopping for a bike for a friend. I figured I could always sell the frame for what I paid for it if I didn''t like it. From the first ride I sold my Cannondale and put my handbuilt Tommasini to indoor pasture on the trainer. The bike is light, responsive, climbs great, has an ultra stiff bottom bracket but with a forgiving ride feel. Road feel suffers due to the carbon and can''t compare to my steel italian bike but thats a small price to pay for all the other superior qualities of the Trek. I have open pro CD wheels, a titanium seatpost, and a prolink saddle which makes this a truly silky smooth ride. I rode it across Nebraska over the summer and never got off the bike stiff, even on the 110 mile day. For the price this is truly a great deal for a quality frameset.

Tommasini Steel, Cannondale CAAD4

Feather weight, Stiffness, Comfort, Lifetime warrenty.

Honestly...None that I know of.

Did a metric century last week-end in Tucson, the bike was as comfortable and responsive as any bike I've ever had. In the past I've been somewhat intimidated by climbs and have stuggled to stay with the pack, I had no problem last Sat. I climbed like I never have before and hung with the big boys. After the race, I felt fresh. You dig the long ride, you'll love this bike. I'm looking forward to many years in the saddle with this bike. I honestly can't think of any downside to this bike, it's been everything I've needed and hoped it would be.

1996 Specialized Epic Pro (carbon fiber), Kestral

Ride comfort, stiffness, weight, looks

None that I am aware of

I love this bike. My LBS, Contender Bicycles in Salt Lake, built the bike to my spec. I didn't want the Postie colors from the 5200 and I needed 180mm DuraAce cranks, so they built up a "5375" with some Ultegra parts. I highly recommend the guys at Contender. The ride is stiff and responsive, but well damped. I feel much fresher at the end of long rides, compared to being thrashed on my old aluminum Trek. Climbs well, too. One note of caution concerning fit: I'm 6'-3" with long legs, and was able to fit a 62cm bike only by going to a Buffalo carbon seat post with a long setback. Because the bottom bracket is set back about 3/4" compared to conventional geometry, people with long femurs need to be careful. So far this is one sweet bike. The Power Tap is a lot of fun, too :-)

Trek Aluminum Road Bike

Almost everything! Very responsive, climbs great and just feels quick.

I cannot think of any.

This is the best bike I ever owned and I owned quite a few in the 18 years of cycling. I rode with steel, carbon and mostly aluminum up until now. When I test rode the 5500, it felt great compared to all the others I tested.

Cannondale R1000

quickness,and durability,climbing

this carbon made oclv is quick and a durable road bike who likes climbing,on the highway, thanks voitto from nevada.

Lightweight, very comfortable and looks great

Excellent bike for just about every type of riding, I absoultely love it. Mine weighs in at 18 lbs (for a 52 cm) and I don't even have lightweight wheels yet (Rolf Vector Sestrieres on order). I looked at loads of bike, some costing up to twice as much but the 5500 was easily the best.

various cheap bikes

Weight, handling, comfort, looks

I'm not aware of any yet

Light responsive just a great riding bike. I've never enjoyed riding as much as I do now. Absolutely the best bike I've ever ridden or owned.

Several road bikes of steel aluminum and carbon

Light, stiff, beautiful - It's the Lance Armstrong Signature Edition

Rolfe Vector Pro wheels creak when I am climbing out of the saddle.

***Note*** This is a duplicate review, because I was not bright enough to put this under the 2000 reviews, and instead mistakenly put it under the 1999 reviews. Aside from the fact that this bike is part of the Lance celebration, this is the most wonderful bike I have ever been on. The carbon fiber is so light and stiff, it sucks up all the bumps in the road that my aluminum ride used to transmit with amplification. When I climb out of the saddle on a hill, the bike stays with me and all the power goes to making the bike go, not in twisting the frame. And Fast! Man oh man, is it fast. It takes a poseur rider like me and makes him go like the wind. The frame is beautiful, and the graphics, which at first glance seemed a bit gaudy, are eye-catching, to say the least. The decals are all clear coated, and the yellow paint draws much attention from other riders. On closer inspection, Trek did a fabulous job making this limited edition bike really unique. Add to that the certificate of authenticity that comes with it, signed by none other than Lance himself, and you have a truly incredible piece of art that goes REAL FAST! You'll want this bike if you have the cash to make a great investment and you want to celebrate the life of Lance. Ratings are both fives, but only because they don't go any higher.

Mercury Tower is one of the latest additions to the Moscow International Business Centre, the most important development project of the Moscow area in the last decade. It is a multi-functional skyscraper, the tallest building in Europe between 2012 -2014, and features offices, luxury apartments as well as recreation and retail facilities on a total of more than 70 floors. The Mercury Tower was designed by the American architect Frank Williams (1936-2010), and the Russian architect M.M. Posokhin. During construction, Erick van Egeraat was assigned to assist to finish the design work and to elaborate a range of interior spaces. Erick van Egeraat’s subdued but powerful design for the interiors of the public spaces, offices and apartments of one of Europe’s tallest buildings is made to bring the kind of style and elegance such a classical skyscraper deserves.

The interior design of the retail area, main entrance lobby and all public spaces of the office and apartment levels feature high quality materials like travertine, mirror polished stainless steel, backlit onyx walls and ceilings. Materials are used in a modest, but visually strong and appealing way, accentuating the architecture of the tower. High quality craftsmanship and insight in the contractor’s work are necessary to properly execute such a project, where details are extremely important.

At present Erick van Egeraat is elaborating the interior design for a number of apartments, an art gallery on the 4th floor, and for the World Fashion Café that will be located on the ground floor. These will further activate both the tower and the wider Moscow City district. The apartments will bring a new concept to Moscow: compact, yet very high quality units, completely fit out with the best materials and furniture, and benefitting from a very complete service level including floral-, laundry- and catering services as well as car-wash, housekeeping and guest apartments. These apartments will be perfect for the urban professional that has a very demanding travelling schedule, and that expects not the biggest, but definitely the best.

Design Erick van Egeraat focuses on the long lasting quality of the design, familiar to the level of Russian architecture in the past, but in a fully contemporary manner and with the typical design touch of Erick van Egeraat.
