Lake Pichola: Lake Pichola is an artificial lake located in the heart of Udaipur. It is the oldest and one of the largest lakes of the city. North India Revealed

I Didn't think I would enjoy it as much as I did. It was an amazing adventure!! The accommodation was good considering it was a budget tour, we stayed at some really nice places. Our tour guide Makendra was amazing , it was a well organised tour , he made seamless. We did most of the optional tours ... loved the experience. Food was good around $5-7AU dollars , activities were around $5-10 Au dollars .. very affordable. Love the camel ride and sleeping under the stars . All in all highly recommend this tour.

Classic Rajasthan

I have been on other group tours so have other tour leaders to compare Ravindra to. "Ravi" was attentive to our every need, making every member feel that they were the most important member of the group, always checking in with individuals in the group how we were doing, and asking before we departed, that we all had our passports. There was one traveler who just did not fit in but Ravi never showed any impatience but bent over backward to attempt to include her-- even though she usually declined to join in many of the activities. He even had to take her to a clinic early one morning because she said that she had been bitten by a dog. No other tour leader was brave enough to give out his room number where he could be reached, but for this member, good thing he had. (And she was the one missing person the last night when the rest of us (happily) showed our appreciation to Ravi with our tips.) And when it was time to hand out tips to our drivers, extra guides, etc., Ravi would give us the collected tips to give to those who had helped out. (I always assumed in the past that when extra tips were given out that they went where they were supposed to. On this trip, I knew they were!) There were at least two times when Ravi was not able to have a room to himself but had to share with another leader. No complaints from him but those of us in the group that that was not fair to him. Ravi was incredibly organized-- no rushing to catch the train in Dehli, for example-- but then every leader should do that, shouldn't they? I, at least, never felt that he didn't have things fully under control. Ravi has led this tour many times before but never seemed like he was bored with the schedule. In fact, this is where he really stood out from other leaders that I am familiar with. During extended travel days, he didn't just sit back and "enjoy the scenery," he regaled us with stories of India's gods or described very humorously, the very complicated arranged marriages process. And he knew the answers to the many and sometimes obscure questions we had for him. I was on this trip because of my husband and not because I had any interest in India. I was surprised every day, enlightened every day, delighted every day. All because of Ravi. I long to learn more about this fantastical place and we are both planning our return. Our "so many places to see, so little time" attitude has gone by the wayside all because of Ravi.

Royal Tour of India(Golden Triangle with Rajasthan)

I am giving 4 stars and not 5 due to following points had an important impact on my overall experience: - Tour guide in Agra named "Prince". Very bad experience with him skiping few places from the program and asking for higher tip - Commercial visits. On all tour I have been taken to "commercial visits" meaning, guide friends shops where they get a commision and you feel force to buy. If we want to buy anything, we will ask for it. Waste of time and pointless visits - General tipping. All guides and driver always mentioned the importance of tipping so you feel force to do that and it does make you feel stressed. All the above always created weird situations affecting the general tour impression. Yes, we are tourist but do not want to feel a walking dollar/euro. Program schedule seemed to be a bit different between summer and winter season hence it will be good to have that specified. Also some parts were skipt in Jodhpur Apart from that, everything was fine.Driver was OK and good hotels in general. Overall, great value for money.

Colorful India with Taj Mahal & Rajasthan

It was not an expensive tour and some aspects will reflect that. The hotels aren't 4/5 star but they are clean I'd in a bit of disrepair in some situations. My driver Lakhan Singh made me feel safe and cared for which was very important as a solo traveller and I'd recommend him to other solo women. If I wanted roadside chai he'd ask me to stay in the car and he'd bring me the chai so I didn't have to deal with stares or rude questions, and when my tour ran a bit late he checked in repeatedly to make sure everything was ok. The tour guides are a range of skill and experience but they'll be different for every city. My favorites were Nipendra in Udaipur and Bhawani in Jaipur. They customized the tour on the fly for me when I expressed that I wanted different experiences.If I were to do it again the only change I'd make is the length. Passage to India - 10 days

I travelled on this tour with my mum, and it was a great experience for both of us as there was such a varied mix of ages - including a couple of other parents travelling with their children. The itinerary itself was good as it covered a lot in a short space of time. Seeing the highlights of the Golden Triangle was amazing, but it was also nice to go further off the beaten track into Rajasthan. Udiapur was probably my favourite, it's such a beautiful city! Our guide was amazing - a fountain of knowledge and an all-round great person. He really took the whole experience to a new level. The accommodation was what you would expect in India. There were some really lovely heritage properties, but not always up to western hotel standards. But I would have much rather stayed in these locally-run properties than chain hotels any day! It is always nice to feel like you're helping out the local economy. The food was incredible. All together an amazing trip with my mum that we'll both always remember!

Intrepid Premium India in Depth (November 13 - 25) Mumbai - Delhi Excellent tour leader along with very good local informative guides. 3 changes in accommodation; Mumbai - Gordon House Hotel is excellent, well priced and only 1 street back from Gateway to India but the company changed to Fariyas Hotel, Mumbai which was been renovated as well as painted so very noisy, couldn't use the pool and scaffolding all around. Definitely not ideal. Our second night in Delhi was also cancelled at Jaypee Siddharth Hotel though privately booked and paid for months before the tour so had to find alternative accommodation while on the tour and they told the travel agents they were "closed for renovations" however the tour was booked and stayed there and no renovations were occuring. Hadoti Palace Hotel in Bundi looked nice and rooms were big but not clean especially the toilet and shower. Otherwise all hotels were very nice and rated accurately; cleaning the showers/washrooms would have helped with the mouldy smell but that is somewhat consistent in most countries. November is the start of wedding season in India which are very loud and noisy and have no time restrictions so be prepared for that if going at this time of year. Tour involves quite a number of days travelling in a bus/coach for 4 - 6 hours with a stop every 2 - 3 hours. Rest stops are OK at best with only snack food to purchase. Adjusting the departure time would have helped with timeframes as quite a few days we were getting lunch around 2 - 3 pm when hotel kitchens were closed. Definitely not enough free time for shopping on your own with organized evenings most nights or in a venue on the outside of towns. Toured the markets but they were only a walk through with the group and no time to stop and shop. Restaurants and food was amazing and no one was unwell on the trip. 2 days in Ranthambhore Park was too long and could have done in 1.5 days with more time in Agra. Overall a very good trip for myself and my father (aged 79).

An incredible tour in an incredible country. India is diverse and complex, offering so much for travellers to see and explore. The pacing of the trip was intense, but appropriate would strongly recommend the tour for the intended age group 18-35.

North India Revealed, was an amazing tour. Our guide Sanjeev was really good. Free time is a bonus and though sometimes felt obligated to do what the rest of the group is doing, you can still go off and explore on your own. Watch out for beggars, of all ages including children. They don't take no for an answer. In India they expect tips, I wasn't aware of this but its on 10 Rupiahs which equates to about 2c Australian. Overall a really good trip.
