An expert shares the top US cities to visit right now — plus exclusive hotel deals

There are two types of vacationers: those who live for jam-packed days and those who leave their schedules wide open. If you fall into the first category, you may want to make your next trip a city getaway. According to Expedia's 2023 Travel Trends report, cities are seeing a resurgence in popularity for travel, and it's easy to see why. For starters, there are endless activities to choose from with guided tours for foodies and architecture buffs, festivals, concerts and more. Additionally, you can skip the hassle of renting a car when you're able to rely on public transportation and get places on foot. And finally, you'll likely get more bang for your buck this time of year.

According to Expedia data, average hotel rates for U.S. cities are well below $250 per night for the summer months, and many top destinations have roundtrip airfare deals under $300. The booking site found that New York, Chicago, Denver, Seattle and Austin are among the most sought-after city destinations from July through September. To make bookings a breeze, travel expert Mark Ellwood stopped by TODAY to share top hotels and activities in each of the five. They're all highly rated by reviewers, and the hotels start at less than $200 per night.

Interested in switching up your annual beach retreat with a metropolitan stay? We're here to make the unbeatable deals even better for TODAY readers. You can now score an additional 10% discount on select Expedia properties with code TODAY10 . (Note that you'll need to click through the links below in order to redeem.) Best U.S. city getaways for summer

Seattle, wa.

usa today travel chicago

Summer is a great time to explore all that Seattle has to offer, according to Ellwood. There’s Pike Place Market, the Space Needle and the Seattle Great Wheel — which is one of the largest Ferris wheels in North America. It's worth checking out Seattle’s tribute to the history of Northwest music too, with a visit to the Museum of Pop Culture. And for those who want to experience an annual holiday for Seattleites, Ellwood recommends visiting during Seafair Weekend from Aug. 4-6. Set on Lake Washington’s shoreline, it's the largest boating event, air show and festival all rolled into one (with features like the U.S. Navy Blue Angels).

Kimpton Hotel Vintage Seattle

Kimpton Hotel Vintage Seattle

Prices start at:

The Kimpton Hotel Vintage Seattle is in the entertainment district of the city, says Ellwood — near the Seattle Art Museum, Pike Place Market and only a few blocks from the waterfront. While you are there, indulge a little and take the Seattle Chocolate Tour starting at $80 a person where you will try 12 different chocolates and visit eight of downtown Seattle’s most beloved food spots.

CitizenM Seattle South Lake Union

CitizenM Seattle South Lake Union

You can't visit Seattle without a trip to the Space Needle and Chihuly Garden and Glass , and luckily there's a hotel right near both. CitizenM Seattle South Lake Union is perfect for those looking for a trendy spot near the city center. Other activities worth checking out include the Woodland Park Zoo, Bell Street Cruise Terminal at Pier 66 and shopping at Pike Place Market. It's the details that make each room special — like hydromassage showers and eco-friendly toiletries — and for a limited time you can book a stay for 10% off with code TODAY10 .

Chicago, IL

usa today travel chicago

Chicago comes alive in the summer, says Ellwood. The Riverwalk, the Lake Michigan beachfront and the parks are the big hotspots in the city. While you are there, check out Millennium Park and take a river cruise too. Music lovers should plan their trip around Lollapalooza, Chicago's annual music festival held in Grant Park from Aug. 3-6, when the hottest performers like Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar and the Red Hot Chili Peppers take the stage.

The Godfrey Hotel Chicago

The Godfrey Hotel Chicago

Ellwood's Chicago hotel pick is the Godfrey. You'll be in the heart of the city — rooftop lounge included to take in the views! Ellwood loves that you can walk to the beach and Riverwalk and enjoy plenty of shopping right in the area. For $40 a person, you can book Wendella’s Chicago River Architecture Tour to experience the city’s legendary architecture from the best seat in the house: the river. If you thought this stay couldn’t get any better, you can save 10% with discount code TODAY10.

The Chicago Hotel Collection - Magnificent Mile

The Chicago Hotel Collection - Magnificent Mile

Located in downtown Chicago, The Chicago Hotel Collection - Magnificent Mile is the perfect place to take in the area's natural beauty. It's close to the beach, parks (like Millennium Park and Grant Park) and trails for both hiking and biking. Fuel up with a Chicago pizza tour , then relax and unwind in your room while enjoying premium bedding and first-run movies. Guest reviews give good marks for the overall value, central location and helpful staff.

usa today travel chicago

You have to visit Denver, according to Ellwood. There’s so much to do, like visit the Denver Art Museums, the Denver Zoo and the botanical gardens. Outdoorsy vacationers will love all the hiking and biking, and they'll enjoy the open-air Red Rocks Ampitheatre (built into a rock structure) which holds concerts and events just outside of the city. Ellwood adds that beer lovers have to check out the Great American Beer Festival from Sept. 21-23 at the Colorado Convention Center. You can try as many local beers as you can handle responsibly, and the event represents the largest collection of U.S. beer ever served.

Warwick Denver

Warwick Denver

Warwick Denver is a boutique hotel with a rooftop pool near the 16th Street Mall. It's perfect for a summer getaway and a true urban refuge in the Mile High City, according to Ellwood. If you're worried you might not see everything during your trip, or just want to see more of Denver like a local, take the Best of Denver Tour starting at $27 per person. This tour is lovingly referred to as the tour that has everything, Ellwood says. You’ll see all of the sights — from the Colorado State Capitol building to the shops at the Denver Pavilions.

The Source Hotel

The Source Hotel

A rooftop terrace, outdoor entertainment area and hot tub are just a few of the amenities provided at The Source Hotel. Also onsite, guests can enjoy retail therapy while shopping at designer stores and fine dining while eating at any of the property's six restaurants. There's plenty to do without leaving the property, but if you're up for a day trip try touring Pikes Peak and the Garden of the Gods just an hour away from the city. Don't forget to use code TODAY10 for 10% off your stay!

usa today travel chicago

Austin Texas is one of the fastest-growing cities in the US, and Ellwood says you'll understand why after vacationing there. First of all, live music is everywhere — from grocery stores to concert halls. You can explore sculpture gardens, historic homes and local fare with some of the best barbecue restaurants and cocktail scenes in the country. Wine lovers will enjoy the Texas Hill Country, with more than two dozen vineyards and rolling hills just west of the city. And as if you needed another reason to see Austin, go for Austin Bat Fest on Aug. 26, when 1.5 million Mexican free-tailed bats emerge from under the Congress Bridge at dusk. Locals have made this daily routine into a festival with two stages of live music and more than 50 vendors.

Omni Austin Hotel

Omni Austin Hotel

Ellwood recommends the Omni Austin Hotel in downtown Austin for its rooftop pool, where you can cool off from the Texas heat. Another option? Kayaking on Lady Bird Lake with rentals starting at $25 per person. There’s also a restaurant, a bar and you’ll be just a few blocks away from the city’s live music and nightlife. Use code TODAY10 to save 10% on your stay.

Hotel Ella

Hotel Ella is located in the vibrant city center of Austin, and it's close by many activities no matter your interests. If you love nature, you'll enjoy spending time around Lady Bird Lake or Lake Austin. If you're seeking adventure, you'll want to try water skiing or water tubing on the lake. And if you want something unexpected, you should definitely check out the Weird Austin City Tour . Once you're back at the hotel, take a dip in the pool or lounge in a free cabana, then grab a bite at the restaurant or a drink at the bar. For a limited time, you can score a 10% discount on your stay by using code TODAY10 .

New York City, NY

usa today travel chicago

No matter what time of the year it is, there’s always so much to do, see and of course, eat in New York City, says Ellwood. There’s Central Park, the Empire State Building, Times Square, the Brooklyn Bridge and, when you want to beat the heat, Broadway plays and iconic museums. Foodies will love to indulge at the Feast of San Gennaro, where chefs and vendors line the streets of Little Italy and celebrate Italian culture and food from Sept. 14-24. Of course, you can always come visit the TODAY Show Plaza too!

Freehand New York

Freehand New York

Ellwood suggests staying at the Freehand New York, an art deco-style hotel that holds a lot of history. It's the former George Washington Hotel, which was once home to many writers, musicians and creatives. Ellwood notes the downtown location is perfect for checking out the major sights and exploring downtown neighborhoods — and you can save 10% off when you use code TODAY10 .

Moxy NYC Chelsea

Moxy NYC Chelsea

Located in the middle of Manhattan, the Moxy NYC Chelsea is right around the corner from many notable landmarks, and it has breathtaking views thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows. You can easily walk to the Empire State Building, catch a game at Madison Square Garden and even enjoy a food tour through Hell's Kitchen . If you'd prefer to explore the city via public transit — we highly recommend making a trip uptown to the Bronx Zoo — the hotel is conveniently located near two subway stops.

Eat up at the 10 best specialty food festivals in the US

USA TODAY 10Best Readers' Choice Awards logo

Best Specialty Food Festival (2023) March 31, 2023

These 10 festivals across the United States celebrate specific foods – often local specialties grown or produced in the region – with themed events and plenty of opportunities to indulge. With so many unique offerings, it's no wonder that readers chose these as the 10 best specialty food festivals for 2023.

Cheese Curd Festival

No. 10: Cheese Curd Festival - Ellsworth, Wisconsin

They don't call Wisconsin the Dairy State for nothing. It's the number one cheese-making state in America, producing everything from Muenster to prized farmhouse cheeses. Cheese curds are a byproduct of the cheesemaking process, and these springy, squeaky little bites are the stars of the show at the Cheese Curd Festival. Thousands of pounds of curds made by the local Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery are served at the occasion each June. Events include a craft beer and curd pairing, live music and a craft market. It's a celebration of all dairy products, with ice cream tastings being especially popular.

Pizza City Fest

No. 9: Pizza City Fest - Chicago, Illinois and Los Angeles, California

Warm and cheesy, pizza is the ultimate savory comfort food.  Dive deeper and you’ll find that pizza is a catchword for a variety of styles. Once upon a time, New York City was all about the slice and St. Louis was all about the tavern-cut pie. Today, a variety of styles have taken center stage and Pizza City Fest promotes the diversity of pizza styles. Pizza City Fest is held in both Chicago, known for deep-dish pie, and Los Angeles, a hotbed of Neapolitan-style pies served at authentic pizzerias. Participants can watch pizza-makers create pies, attend panels and, of course, eat lots of pizza.

Carne Asada Fest

No. 8: Carne Asada Fest - Dallas, Texas

The Carne Asada Fest in Dallas started as a way to introduce a wider audience to authentic Latinx foodways in an experiential manner. Carne Asada is marinated grilled beef, usually chuck steak (called Diezmillo in Spanish), typically served in thin strips, sometimes as a filling for tacos or burritos. Come hungry and feast to the sound of live music. Kids 12 and under are free.

Vermont Cheesemakers Festival

No. 7: Vermont Cheesemakers Festival - Greensboro, Vermont

Arguably the country's top artisanal cheese state, Vermont plays host to the Annual Vermont Cheesemakers Festival each summer at Highland Center for the Arts. This single-day event offers an unparalleled chance to meet the state's best cheesemakers and taste their world-class products, alongside other local foods, craft beer, wine and spirits.

Italian Market Festival

No. 6: Italian Market Festival - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

South Philadelphia's vibrant Italian Market has been going strong for over a century. It is one of the city's culinary and cultural treasures, home to Italian restaurants, butcher shops and bakeries. The Italian Market Festival is a giant block party held at this outdoor market each spring, with dozens of vendors lining the streets for a tasty, two-day jubilee. The signature event is the greased pole climbing competition, where contestants shimmy up a slippery pole to retrieve luscious salami and cheeses perched at the top.

Waikiki Spam Jam

No. 5: Waikiki Spam Jam - Honolulu, Hawaii

Spam is as ingrained in Hawaii's food culture as pineapples and poi. This tinned luncheon meat was first brought to Hawaii by GIs during World War II and was quickly embraced. Shelf-stable and inexpensive, residents of the Hawaiian Islands consume millions of tins annually. The Waikiki Spam Jam is a one-day festival that acknowledges the state's love story with this porky product. You'll sample inventive Spam recipes for a good cause, as proceeds benefit a local food bank.

Kauai Poke Festival

No. 4: Kauai Poke Festival - Kauai, Hawaii

With easy access to fresh fish along its miles of unspoiled coastline, poke has deep roots across the Hawaiian Islands. Poke means "cut into pieces," which is how this raw fish dish is served. The Kauai Poke Festival features some 20 amazing chefs and cooks creating poke dishes for attendees to enjoy. 10Best contributor Marla Cimini shares: "Hosted by world-famous chef Sam Choy. I’ve attended this amazing poke festival twice – and it gets bigger and more popular every year! Chefs alongside home cooks serve up some very creative poke dishes!"

Maine Lobster Festival

No. 3: Maine Lobster Festival - Rockland, Maine

Rockland is the self-proclaimed lobster capital of the world, and its annual Maine Lobster Festival salutes the state’s favorite crustacean. It takes place over five days each summer and includes feasting on fresh seafood, a parade and live music. The Maine Sea Goddess Coronation and the Great International Great Crate Race, where contestants jump from crate to crate and risk falling into the chilly Atlantic Ocean, are don’t-miss events.

Windy City Smokeout

No. 2: Windy City Smokeout - Chicago, Illinois

This four-day event in Chicago combines two things we love: live music and great BBQ. Over 20 of the world’s best pitmasters serve up their smoked morsels, while top country music talent takes the stage. Bands, beer, BBQ – what could be better?

Picklesburgh

No. 1: Picklesburgh - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Picklesburgh bills itself as “The Destination for All Things Pickled” for one weekend each July. Pittsburgh’s Roberto Clemente Bridge transforms into Picklesburgh, complete with a giant flying Heinz pickle balloon. Attendees can expect an assortment of foods and cocktails that feature pickled ingredients, as well as live demos and pickle merchandise.

Detroit Pistons vs. Chicago Bulls TV channel for home finale: Cade Cunningham now out again

usa today travel chicago

Detroit Pistons vs. Chicago Bulls start time today

Matchup:  Pistons (13-66) vs. Bulls (37-42).

Date:  Thursday, April 11.

Time : 7 p.m. ET.

Where:  Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.

All things Pistons: Latest Detroit Pistons news, schedule, roster, stats, injury updates and more.

Betting line:  Bulls by 9½ ( how to bet and get sign up bonuses ).

•  Box score

Game notes: The Pistons have at least tied their franchise record for most losses in a season, and they'll need to be perfect the rest of the way to not to be the worst. That effort starts on Thursday against the Chicago Bulls. The big question: Will Cade Cunningham (left knee) play today? He has missed four games in a row. And now this will be five, after he was ruled out on the NBA's 5:30 p.m. injury report .

The Bulls are just 3-7 in their past 10 games, which may not sound great but is better than the Pistons, who are 1-9 in their past 10 games, with the lone win coming over the Washington Wizards. The Bulls are firmly locked into the 9-seed vs. 10-seed play-in game against the Atlanta Hawks, and one more win will give them the home game in the matchup.

Thursday also marks the final game of the year at Little Caesars Arena for the Pistons, as they'll travel to Texas to play the Dallas Mavericks and San Antonio Spurs in the last two games of the year.

Both teams are severely beat up in the injury department, so be sure to check out the injury report below.

[ MUST LISTEN: Make "The Pistons Pulse" your go-to Detroit Pistons podcast, available anywhere you listen to podcasts ( Apple , Spotify ) or watch live/on demand on YouTube . ]

Last game: Pistons go cold, clinch at least tie for worst team record ever in loss to Sixers

Detroit Pistons injury report vs. Chicago Bulls

The Pistons have a lengthy list of players on the injury report, starting with the four out for the season: Ausar Thompson (blood cut) , Isaiah Stewart (hamstring), Stanley Umude (right ankle fracture), Quentin Grimes (right knee) .

Simone Fontecchio (left toe) remains out, and Cade Cunningham (left knee tendinopathy) will miss a fifth consecutive game, after again being listed "questionable" all day. Two-way contract forward Tosan Evbuomwan has started some Pistons games recently, but is back in the G League.

The Bulls have had their fair share of injuries as well, including season-ending injuries to Lonzo Ball, Zach LaVine and Patrick Williams. Ex-Pistons center Andre Drummond is doubtful and Ayo Dosunmu is questionable; forward Julian Phillips hasn't played since March 13 because of a foot injury.

Mitch Albom: Chauncey Billups went from bust to Detroit star to Hall of Fame plaque

Detroit Pistons vs. Chicago Bulls projected starting lineups

Pistons:  G Marcus Sasser, G Jaden Ivey, F Troy Brown Jr., F Chimezie Metu, C Jalen Duren.

Bears trade back, land stud edge rusher in new usa today mock draft, share this article.

The Chicago Bears are a top discussion right now regarding the 2024 NFL draft . It is because they have the number one overall pick.

The intrigue with them isn’t that pick though. We know what they are going to do there. It is their ninth overall pick that has people in Chicago guessing about what they are going to consider.

USA Today’s Nate Davis released his latest first-round mock draft, where the Bears made a move to acquire additional draft capital.

With the first overall pick, he has them shocking nobody by selecting USC quarterback Caleb Williams , who is considered the best QB prospect since Andrew Luck, so he has a lot to live up to in the NFL.

No (more) subterfuge required here. Previous QB1 Justin Fields was in Pittsburgh by the time Bears brass descended on Southern California’s campus for Williams’ pro day last month. The 2022 Heisman Trophy winner will inherit something far closer to a turnkey operation than Fields ever had in the Windy City (or Williams himself enjoyed in SoCal last year). But make no mistake, his athleticism and creativity as a passer should elevate this franchise sooner rather than later.

But the ninth overall pick is where things get interesting. Instead of staying put and selecting LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers, Chicago elects to trade back with the Arizona Cardinals, who acquired the No. 13 pick via the Washington Commanders and Las Vegas Raiders.

With the 13th pick, the Bears shore up edge rusher with Florida State’s Jared Verse. Chicago is slated to host Verse for a Top 30 visit at Halas Hall.

Why would Chicago punt on a second top-10 pick? Well, selections that lofty – even on rookie contracts – get expensive. And as good a situation as it appears, GM Ryan Poles has a league-low four picks this year – and moving down just this far would still enable him to fill a need with a stud while adding a choice likely to be in the third- or second-round range depending on what year it lands. And though he acquired DE Montez Sweat at the trade deadline last year, Poles still needs a pass rusher on the other side. Verse, who will also bow up against the run, was a first-team All-American during both of his seasons with the Seminoles and registered nine sacks in each.

In two seasons with the Seminoles, Verse had 18 sacks and 29.5 tackles for loss. Stats like that are a big reason for his projected first-round selection.

If this mock draft came to fruition, it would be considered a win. Not only does Chicago land their new franchise quarterback, they acquire additional draft capital and add a star pass rusher in the first round alone. That would be a great start.

The Bears traded for Montez Sweat last season and he helped the defense make a complete 180. With another big-time pass rusher on the outside, the sky is the limit for this group. Hopefully, general manager Ryan Poles recognizes how good this potential scenario could be for them in the long run.

What time the 2024 solar eclipse started, reached peak totality and ended

By Sarah Maddox

Updated on: April 9, 2024 / 5:04 AM EDT / CBS News

The 2024 solar eclipse will be visible across North America today. As the moon's position between the Earth and sun casts a shadow on North America, that shadow, or umbra, will travel along the surface from west to east at more than 1,500 miles per hour along the path of totality .

That means the eclipse will start, peak and end at different times — as will the moments of total darkness along the path of totality — and the best time to view the eclipse depends on where you are located. Some places along the path will have more totality time than others.

In Texas, the south-central region had clouds in the forecast , but it was better to the northeast, according to the National Weather Service. The best eclipse viewing weather was expected in New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine, as well as in Canada's New Brunswick and Newfoundland.

What time does the 2024 total solar eclipse start?

Eclipse map of totality

The total solar eclipse will emerge over the South Pacific Ocean before the shadow falls across North America, beginning in parts of Mexico. The path of totality , where onlookers can witness the moon fully blocking the sun (through eclipse viewing glasses for safety ), is expected to first make landfall near the city of Mazatlán around 9:51 a.m. MT.

The total solar eclipse will cross over the U.S.-Mexico border into Texas, where it will emerge over Eagle Pass at 12:10 p.m. CT and then peak at about 1:27 p.m. CT.

In Dallas, NASA data shows the partial eclipse will first become visible at 12:23 p.m. CT and peak at 1:40 p.m. CT. The next states in the path of totality are Oklahoma and Arkansas, where the eclipse begins in Little Rock at 12:33 p.m. CT.

Cleveland will see the beginning of the eclipse at 1:59 p.m. ET. Darkness will start spreading over the sky in Buffalo, New York, at 2:04 p.m. ET. Then, the eclipse will reach northwestern Vermont, including Burlington, at 2:14 p.m. ET. Parts of New Hampshire and Maine will also follow in the path of totality before the eclipse first reaches the Canadian mainland  at 3:13 p.m. ET.

Although the experience won't be exactly the same, viewers in all the contiguous U.S. states outside the path of totality will still be able to see a partial eclipse. Some places will see most of the sun blocked by the moon, including Washington, D.C., where the partial eclipse will start at 2:04 p.m. ET and peak at about 3:20 p.m. ET.

In Chicago, viewers can start viewing the partial eclipse at 12:51 p.m. CT, with the peak arriving at 2:07 p.m. CT.  In Detroit, viewers will be able to enjoy a near-total eclipse beginning at 1:58 p.m. ET and peaking at 3:14 p.m. ET.

New York City will also see a substantial partial eclipse, beginning at 2:10 p.m. ET and peaking around 3:25 p.m. ET.

In Boston it will begin at 2:16 p.m. ET and peak at about 3:29 p.m. ET.

The below table by NASA shows when the eclipse will start, peak and end in 13 cities along the eclipse's path.

What time will the solar eclipse reach peak totality?

Millions more people will have the chance to witness the total solar eclipse this year than during the last total solar eclipse , which was visible from the U.S. in 2017.

The eclipse's peak will mean something different for cities within the path of totality and for those outside. Within the path of totality, darkness will fall for a few minutes. The longest will last more than 4 minutes, but most places will see between 3.5 and 4 minutes of totality. In cities experiencing a partial eclipse, a percentage of the sun will be obscured for more than two hours.

Mazatlán is set to experience totality at 11:07 am PT. Dallas will be able to see the moon fully cover the sun at 1:40 p.m. CT. Little Rock will start to see the full eclipse at 1:51 p.m. CT, Cleveland at 3:13 p.m. ET and Buffalo at 3:18 p.m. ET. Totality will reach Burlington at 3:26 p.m. ET before moving into the remaining states and reaching Canada around 4:25 p.m.

Outside the path of totality, 87.4% of the sun will be eclipsed in Washington, D.C. at 3:20 p.m. ET, and Chicago will have maximum coverage of 93.9% at 2:07 p.m. CT. New York City is much closer to the path of totality this year than it was in 2017; it will see 89.6% coverage at 3:25 p.m. EDT.

Detroit is another city that will encounter a near-total eclipse, with 99.2% maximum coverage at 3:14 p.m. ET. Boston will see 92.4% coverage at 3:29 p.m. ET.

What time will the solar eclipse end?

The eclipse will leave continental North America from Newfoundland, Canada, at 5:16 p.m. NT, according to NASA.

At the beginning of the path of totality in Mazatlán, the eclipse will be over by 12:32 p.m. PT, and it will leave Dallas at 3:02 p.m. CT. The eclipse will end in Little Rock at 3:11 p.m. CT, Cleveland at 4:29 p.m. CDT and Buffalo at 4:32 p.m. ET. Burlington won't be far behind, with the eclipse concluding at 4:37 p.m. ET.

Meanwhile, the viewing will end in Chicago at 3:21 p.m. CT, Washington, D.C. at 4:32 p.m. ET, and New York City at 4:36 p.m. ET.

In Detroit, the partial eclipse will disappear at 4:27 p.m. ET, and in Boston, it will be over at 4:39 p.m. ET.

How long will the eclipse last in total?

The total solar eclipse will begin in Mexico at 11:07 a.m. PT and leave continental North America at 5:16 p.m. NT. From the time the partial eclipse first appears on Earth to its final glimpses before disappearing thousands of miles away, the celestial show will dazzle viewers for about 5 hours, according to timeanddate.com .

The length of the total solar eclipse at points along the path depends on the viewing location. The longest will be 4 minutes and 28 seconds, northwest of Torreón, Mexico. Near the center of the path, totality takes place for the longest periods of time, according to NASA.

Spectators will observe totality for much longer today than during the 2017 eclipse , when the longest stretch of totality was 2 minutes and 32 seconds.

The moon's shadow seen on Earth today, called the umbra, travels at more than 1,500 miles per hour, according to NASA. It would move even more quickly if the Earth rotated in the opposite direction.

What is the longest a solar eclipse has ever lasted?

The longest known totality was 7 minutes and 28 seconds in 743 B.C. However, NASA says this record will be broken in 2186 with a 7 minute, 29 second total solar eclipse. The next total solar eclipse visible from parts of the U.S. won't happen until Aug. 23, 2044.

Did the chicago bulls luck into another hidden gem in adama sanogo, share this article.

Did the Chicago Bulls luck into another hidden gem in former UConn standout Adama Sanogo ? The Bulls two way player had himself a career game for Chicago, putting up 22 points and 20 rebounds in a 129-127 win over the Washington Wizards on last Friday (April 12).

In a season that seemed doomed due to the injuries to Lonzo Ball, Zach LaVine, and Patrick Williams, the Bulls saw reserve guards Coby White and Ayo Dosunmu take big steps forward and two way forward Onuralp Bitim emerge as a legitimate depth piece. Is the former Husky big man the next in line to add some silver lining to an otherwise snake bit campaign?

Or should we temper our expectations until we see Sanogo replicate some of that big game against better opponents?

The folks behind the “Bulls Central” YouTube channel weighed in on his recent big game on a recent video. Check it out in the clip embedded above!
