Top tips for finding a cheap flight from Atlanta to Detroit
- Looking for a cheap flight? 25% of our users found flights on this route for C$ 114 or less one-way and C$ 108 or less round-trip.
- Atlanta Hartfield Jackson International Airport (ATL) is one of the busiest airports in the country. Statistics show that the airport receives the highest number of passengers compared to any other airport, so crazy lines and long waiting times are the norms here. To avoid missing your flight, ensure you arrive at least 3h before your flight is scheduled to depart.
- ATL Airport is a hub for Delta Air Lines. They have more flights out of this airport than any other airline. Therefore, it would be best if you considered booking with them as you’re sure to get more options and favorable prices.
- Check out the offsite parking lots and garages if you plan to leave your car at the airport. In most cases, they charge lower prices than the parking lots inside the airport.
- To get wheelchair assistance at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW), inform your airline at least 48h before your flight. This gives them enough time to organize with the officials at the airport to ensure you get one as soon as you land.
- If you are traveling with your pet, please ensure that you keep them restrained in a safe animal carrier. That is the only way you can be allowed past security at Atlanta Airport.

Bag self drop off was terrible! No staff there to help. Almost missed my flight. Would never check a bag in with Spirit again.
Can’t say there was anything I particularly liked. Seats were very tight, leather wrapped plastic. I followed up a much longer and cheaper trip from Honolulu on southwest, everything was phenomenal, this flight was the exact opposite. Blows my mind they charge for water of all things. One of the attendants seemed very rude, I watched a taller gentleman a couple rows forward with his knees pressed into the back of the seat ahead, while the woman in that seat leaned forward the entire flight, I’m sure because she could feel his knees. I’ll be avoiding spirit like the plague from here forward.
Bad weather is one thing but repeatedly changing gates AND terminals after several hours of delays was horrible. Additionally after the long delays, gate agents were delaying us evening further by being overly picky with personal item bag sizes. Get a grip.
Flight was late taking off. I think the crew and pilots did a good job. It definitely worked for me. I would fly spirit again thank you.
Never made it to Atlanta due to the horrible policy of having to be at the gate 1 hour prior to departure. I was at the airport and the plane had not left Baltimore, but was not allowed to board.
Horrible experience. 1st we were over an hour late. 2nd waited to board for 2hrs 3rd got off/on plane 2 times 4th each time we got on the plane we sat in rhe plane for 1 to 2 hours with no updated or water 5th we were given literally 4 different answers as to why we werent in the air yet
They kept us on the plane over 90 minutes after landing.
Terrible, long layover was a extra expense as l had to book another airline rather than wait for the already paid for spirit flight. This time around spirit let me down😔😔😔
Delayed as always, which I guess is better than cancelled. You get what you pay for.
Frontier is an absolute disaster in Costa Rica! After changing the schedule to 2 hours later I was forced to lucky to purchase 2 connecting trips to get home at great expense. Also when I got to the SJ airport, I was forced to stand in the terminal (no seating) for 1-1/2 hours waiting for the Frontier counter to open instead of being able to get my boarding pass so I could relax in the Amex lounge and do work waiting for my flight. Further, when I left Denver on the first leg of the trip to SJ, we were 1-1/4 hours late leaving “because a flight attendant needed paperwork. This also caused a double connecting purchase to get to my family in CR for Christmas Day. Remind me not to use Frontier for my upcoming CR return flight. So sorry to be so honest but I sometimes wonder if anyone is listening or if they understand the damage they cause by some accounting or logistical reasons for a schedule change, Thanks Steve
Not have to pay for every single item to take a flight. Seating and delays sucked.
Flight was cancelled and I had to spend the night in the airport lugging my suitcase around
If you don’t check in 24 hours in advance, they will charge you $110 to check your bag instead of the $30. I did not get an email with this information and did not check in. In addition, my flight home was cancelled at layover and I had to spend the night in the airport, and then have another layover at another airport before making it home. Will not fly frontier again.
Terrible. Seats are bad and the baggage policy is inconsistent
Flight delayed 3 times, resulting in late arrival, rental car place gave car away resulting in increased BS charges because I was late. Frontier blows.
I paid for extra leg room. The flimsy plastic seat underneath the floatation seat did not line up with the arm rests. It seemed as if the plastic part was zip tied on but immovable. This caused severe uncomfortable for the duration of the flight.
Left Denver late, then sat on tarmac 30 min after arrival
Better than I expected but I did pay for a seat and carry on bags ahead of time.
Crew members are very rude and not cooperate with passengers.
30 minute delay due to boarding and settling of a family.

The experience was good and the flight departed on time and landed early
On 2 different flights the wifi was horrible and there was no drink or snack service.
Inflight entertainment stopped working as we taxi to runway and never worked again until landing and taxi to gate. Grrrr
Boarding was a sh!t show. JFK BOARDING was awful. The agent called three sections at a time Clogging the area then yelling at people to not block the walk way. How are you going to call delta one , premium select and comfort plus at once and the yell at highest paying passengers. Need to do a lot better and the flight attendants in the galley need to understand that their voices travel. They were talking about others and everyone in the cabin heard them
Quick flight on older aircraft. Sat in last row…really noisy. No video available
Terrible. Delta delays caused us to miss our flight and they did nothing to fix it.
Horrible. First delta flight was delayed. I ran to my connecting flight and arrived to the gate 13 mins before departure. I told the gate agent “I’m here”, she told me flight was closed while giving my already confirmed seat to an stand by passenger. I said again “madam, I’m here with my confirmed seat” and she said “no you’re not here@ and gave two stand by people a boarding pass and let them board. I asked “madam, why do you do that?”, and she repeated “you’re not here”. That was very rude. I’m disappointed of delta. It used to have a good customer service. Things have changed, but not for good.
There was no FREE wi-fi nor entertainment screens at all.
full flihgt but crew and passengers all helped eachother we landed early! however we then had to wait 40 minutes on the tarmac to get into the gate there were people trying get connecting flights, assume its an airport issue but still frustrating
Everything was smooth and easy to fly. No complains and a lot of thanks!
More facilities to transport to the gates......felt too much walking distance
Just happy I flew Qatar Airways awesome no wonder they are #1 in the world right now! The food was just delicious, very courteous, professional crew.
It was good no problems made it on time for the next flight overseas!
It was a really long flight from Doha to Philadelphia and it was overall a good one. The one area that I would comment on is that there is a lot of single-use plastic and disposables in the meal service for American Airlines. It would be great to see more circular options in the meal service to reduce the amount of waste.
Suddenly Flight has been change by Qatar and there’s no information is there of us from Bom to Doha and counter person is behaving like Qatar owner next I will not buy Qatar and I will not suggest anyone to fly in Qatar
The crew was fantastic and the over flight was perfect as well.
They shld provide food. Between food they are giving 10 hours gap which is toooo much
The crew was great and the food and liquor offerings were good. Seats were a bit cramped. Flight arrived early at destination. That's a plus.
All over with Qatar airlines my experience was really bad due to delays and then putting me on different airlines and after 8 hours of wait I had to listen to their is no plane to fly for another 24 hours. Wore experience ever.
I had already opted for Vegan food before 2 months yet they say we have no record for it,
I arrived to the airport 2 hours before my American Airlines flight was scheduled to take off. I have TSA pre-check. The airport was crazy packed when I arrived. After momentarily standing in the pre-check line, the TSA agent said that I am not pre-check. Of course I said that I am because I entered my KTN number on all my traveling sites and programs. I had to get out of line and go back to the AA counter to discover that American Airlines did not add my KTN to my boarding pass. I had to call TSA to find out my number, then have AA enter it onto my boarding pass. The emblem would not load onto my boarding pass. By this time, I decided to use my Clear in order to get through TSA but the line was ridiculous long. By the time I made through TSA, I missed my 11:08am flight and was re-booked for the 5:30pm. This is after the AA employee told me I should have gotten to the airport early. AA use to be a dependable airline not I use them only if I have too.
Average - flew with Jet Blue internal and it was far more comfortable and better food and entertainment. Notable difference
Flight from SBP to DFW 1. They rerouted us through PHX 2. Delayed flight out of SBP for 3 hrs so we missed our connection Downgrade on rerouted flight. Back of the plane, center seats, didn't sit together 4. Return flight out of DFW same exact thing. Delayed, missed connection, Downgrade + they lost our luggage! A complete mess.
On the new 319 NEO? seatback entertainment system did not work even when the flight attendant rebooted it. At least I had my cell phone to connect with wifi.
Good flights. Departure and arrivals were on time. DFW was a little problematic in that the Skytrain without prior notice bypassed the Echo terminal so that delayed my arrival at my connecting flight.
Do not eat the bagel! Otherwise, good albeit late, breakfast in first. Boarding downgrade only because flight was delayed due to plane change due to undisclosed problem with original aircraft. I did not use entertainment.
Because I can’t stand very long in one place, I was allowed to reword.
It was a good flight. Of course it was full, but it went well.
Overall the flights pretty good. The snacks we’re good and they were plenty of them. Both boarding and deplaning went quickly.
The flight was fine. All the delays and poor communication and customer service were the worst! We were supposed to arrive in London at 7:10 am. In stead we arrived at 1:30 pm. And now American Airlines refuses to make things right but only sent a canned apology after I contacted customer relations.
Bag self drop off was terrible! No staff there to help. Almost missed my flight. Would never check a bag in with Spirit again.

Never made it to Atlanta due to the horrible policy of having to be at the gate 1 hour prior to departure. I was at the airport and the plane had not left Baltimore, but was not allowed to board.
Flight left very close to original projected time. Paid for checked bag weight overage (my fault). Plane was literally brand new & this was its 2nd flight. Seats were alittle uncomfortable (I'm 5'11 * 175lbs and was alittle cramped, & brand new seats had little cushion). Food options were good. Main thing was flight took off & landed on time.

They kept us on the plane over 90 minutes after landing.
Terrible, long layover was a extra expense as l had to book another airline rather than wait for the already paid for spirit flight. This time around spirit let me down😔😔😔
Not have to pay for every single item to take a flight.

Best of rest: Best of the rest: ILB – Texas’ Jaylan Ford, Texas-El Paso’s Tyrice Knight, Washington’s Edefuan Ulofoshio, Notre Dame’s JD Bertrand and Michigan’s Michael Barrett. 2024 NFL Mock Draft: Two trades for QBs in top 5 as Patriots move back; NFC team gets aggressive for DB help
The vikings, broncos and raiders find their franchise signal-callers.
We're in the home stretch of draft season, as only 10 days remain before the 2024 NFL Draft kicks off in Detroit.
Here at CBS Sports, we publish weekly mock drafts from the beginning of the NFL season in early September, all the way until the Chicago Bears are on the clock with the No. 1 overall pick on April 25. This mock draft, however, was a little different from all the others. In this mock draft, CBS Sports NFL Draft experts Josh Edwards and Chris Trapasso went go through the entire first round in real-time. They alternated picks, and trades were allowed.
Miss any of the action? See how the entire first round unfolded in the live blog below!
2024 NFL Mock Draft results
1. Chicago Bears: QB Caleb Williams 2. Washington Commanders: QB Drake Maye 3. Minnesota Vikings (via mock trade with New England): QB Jayden Daniels 4. Arizona Cardinals: WR Marvin Harrison Jr. 5. Denver Broncos (via mock trade with Los Angeles Chargers): QB J.J. McCarthy 6. New York Giants: WR Malik Nabers 7. Tennessee Titans: OT Joe Alt 8. Atlanta Falcons: EDGE Dallas Turner 9. Chicago Bears: WR Rome Odunze 10. New York Jets: TE Brock Bowers 11. New England Patriots (via mock trade with Minnesota): OT Olu Fashanu 12. Los Angeles Chargers (via mock trade with Denver): OT Taliese Fuaga 13. Las Vegas Raiders: QB Michael Penix Jr. 14. New Orleans Saints: OT JC Latham 15. Indianapolis Colts: CB Quinyon Mitchell 16. Seattle Seahawks: OG Troy Fautanu 17. Jacksonville Jaguars: DT Byron Murphy II 18. Green Bay Packers (via mock trade with Cincinnati): CB Terrion Arnold 19. Los Angeles Rams: EDGE Laiatu Latu 20. Pittsburgh Steelers: Jackson Power-Johnson, OG/C 21. Miami Dolphins: OT/OG Graham Barton 22. Philadelphia Eagles: EDGE Jared Verse 23. New England Patriots (via mock trade with Minnesota): WR Brian Thomas Jr. 24. Dallas Cowboys: OT Amarius Mims 25. Cincinnati Bengals (via mock trade with Green Bay): DT Johnny Newton 26. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: CB Kool-Aid McKinstry 27. Arizona Cardinals: EDGE Chop Robinson 28. Buffalo Bills: WR Adonai Mitchell 29. Detroit Lions: CB Cooper DeJean 30. Baltimore Ravens: OT Tyler Guyton 31. San Francisco 49ers: OT/OG Jordan Morgan 32. Kansas City Chiefs: CB Nate Wiggins
32. Kansas City Chiefs: Nate Wiggins, CB, Clemson
Kansas City played the fifth highest rate of man coverage last season. With L'Jarius Sneed now a Tennessee Titan, the defending Super Bowl champions have a need at the position. Nate Wiggins has great man coverage qualities and immediately steps into the starting lineup.
31. San Francisco 49ers: Jordan Morgan, OT/OG, Arizona
The 49ers need to plan for the future after Trent Williams and the right tackle spot. Morgan has the build of a guard but enough length to stay on the perimeter and plus mobility to get after it in the run game. He was stellar in pass protection at Arizona, too.
30. Baltimore Ravens: Tyler Guyton, OT, Oklahoma
Tyler Guyton is incredibly athletic but still has room for technical growth. Baltimore traded away right tackle Morgan Moses, and that creates a void on that side of the line. Ronnie Stanley has never played a full season, so the contender does not want to find itself in a position of needing two starting offensive tackles. Stanley has missed an average of nine games each of the past four seasons.
29. Detroit Lions: Cooper DeJean, CB, Iowa
Thought about defensive line here, but Alim McNeill and D.J. Reader are quite the intimidating tandem on the inside entering the 2024 season for the Lions. What this defense really needs is a feisty, do-everything playmaker. That's precisely what DeJean is. Awesome tackler, can play in the slot, safety, on the boundary. And he brings serious returning capabilities.
28. Buffalo Bills: Adonai Mitchell, WR, Texas
With Stefon Diggs gone, there is opportunity for a wide receiver to step up and receive a significant share of the production. Adonai Mitchell gives them that true X-potential at the next level. They should be able to cobble together a productive receiver room with Mitchell, Khalil Shakir and Curtis Samuel.
27. Arizona Cardinals: Chop Robinson EDGE, Penn State
The Cardinals are ecstatic to see Verse still on the board this late in Round 1. Premier prospect at a premium position at No. 4 overall -- Marvin Harrison Jr. -- and now another relatively clean prospect at a critical position with Robinson. The Penn State prospect has All-Pro upside because of his burst, bend around the corner and an occasional pass-rush move. Head coach Jonathan Gannon would likely see some Haason Reddick in Robinson's game.
26. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB, Alabama
Tampa Bay shipped out Carlton Davis this offseason. Looking at the potential draft options to replace him, Nate Wiggins plays more man coverage and Cooper DeJean is stronger in zone coverage. Tampa Bay was middle of the road in zone coverage, so Kool-Aid McKinstry gives them the best of both worlds.
25. Cincinnati Bengals (via mock trade with Green Bay): Johnny Newton, DT, Illinois
Cincinnati had the opportunity to draft offensive line or cornerback help at No. 18 overall but instead opted to trade down. In the process, they draft a player that upgrades the defensive line. The team signed Sheldon Rankins in free agency and return B.J. Hill but the position now becomes a point of strength for the AFC North franchise.
24. Dallas Cowboys: Amarius Mims, OT, Georgia
Amarius Mims has the athletic potential to be the best offensive tackle this draft class produces. There is no clarity on Dallas' offensive line, but the picture comes into focus more with the selection of Mims. He played right tackle for Georgia, but I believe he has the skillset to make the transition to left tackle, which allows Tyler Smith to remain at guard.
23. New England Patriots (via mock trade with Minnesota): Brian Thomas Jr., WR, LSU
More building for 2025 and beyond for the Patriots, who can attack the quarterback position in the middle rounds of this draft if they so choose, or just give Jacoby Brissett the reins in 2024. Thomas has his best football ahead of him thanks to his size, burst, ball-tracking capabilities and YAC talent.
22. Philadelphia Eagles: Jared Verse, EDGE, Florida State
Every year, we seem to talk about really good players falling to Baltimore and Philadelphia. It appears this year will be no exception as the Eagles are in position to select Jared Verse without having to move up the board. They have bigger needs, but Verse gives them long-term flexibility and provides depth at a premium position.
21. Miami Dolphins: Graham Barton, OT/OG, Duke
This is not where I'd go, but that's neither here nor there in this mock. Barton has the movement skills and size to play all five positions, and his mobility would be highly sought after in Mike McDaniel's scheme. Miami has to fill a need up front after Robert Hunt's departure, and Barton is a plug-and-play guard in 2024.
20. Pittsburgh Steelers: Jackson Power-Johnson, OG/C, Oregon
I would not personally go in this direction, but there has been a lot of smoke regarding Jackson Powers-Johnson and Pittsburgh. In most instances, I would ignore that smoke, but the Steelers are a team where the pre-draft buzz historically matches reality. He has guard/center flexibility.
19. Los Angeles Rams: Laiatu Latu, EDGE, UCLA
Playing in the Rams backyard, Les Snead and Co. have gotten a close look at Latu's dazzling career at UCLA. He's been healthy the past two seasons and incredibly productive thanks to impeccable hand work and smooth athleticism around the corner.
18. Green Bay Packers (via mock trade with Cincinnati): Terrion Arnold, CB, Alabama
In this swap, the Packers sent No. 25 and No. 88 to the Bengals for No. 18. Arnold is such an instinctive cornerback in man or zone, a feisty tackler, and has plus ball skills -- all of which led to major productivity in the SEC last season. The Packers are loaded with picks and get aggressive to add a top-flight defensive back to the roster.
More potential trades
Phone lines are ringing again. Bengals considering a potential move back.
17. Jacksonville Jaguars: Byron Murphy II, DT, Texas
Yes, the Jaguars signed Arik Armstead in free agency, but they have a defensive line in need of serious pass-rushing juice on the inside. Murphy provides that in spades and holds up well against the run. He and Josh Allen will be a formidable duo.
16. Seattle Seahawks: Troy Fautanu, OG, Washington
One of my favorite team-player pairings in this entire first-round projection has been Troy Fautanu and the Seahawks. Seattle dealt with injuries at the offensive tackle positions last year, and as the Huskies' left tackle, Fautanu offers positional flexibility despite being projected to guard at the next level. Damien Lewis signed with Carolina in free agency, and Fautanu has familiarity with the franchise's new offensive coordinator and offensive line coach.
Trade brewing??
Josh and I are having serious trade talks here... hold tight 👀
15. Indianapolis Colts: Quinyon Mitchell, CB, Toledo
The Colts have a long history of drafting freaky athletes, and Mitchell ran 4.33-second 40-yard dash at 6-foot and more than 200 pounds at the combine. Beyond that, he had 45 pass breakups and 6 interceptions in his final three seasons at Toledo. He fits the mold of the modern-day, large, suffocating outside cornerback.
14. New Orleans Saints: JC Latham, OT, Alabama
The Saints are known to draft for need. They acquired an additional first-round pick two years ago so they could draft a wide receiver and an offensive tackle in the first round rather than having to choose. Latham is thrown into the conversation to replace Ryan Ramczyk, whose knee is reportedly not responding to treatment.
13. Las Vegas Raiders: Michael Penix Jr., QB, Washington
To some, this will be too early for Penix. For others, it'll be considered a perfect landing spot for him on a team potentially a quarterback away from truly competing in a loaded AFC. Penix can make all the throws and doesn't take many sacks but doesn't provide much outside of structure.
12. Los Angeles Chargers (via mock trade with Denver): Taliese Fuaga, OT, Oregon State
After trading back, this is a dream scenario for Los Angeles and will make Jim Harbaugh the happiest man on Earth. Fuaga is a massive road-grader with a stellar pass-protection track record. Plug-and-play right tackle for a club in dire need of that type. Plenty of upside too given his length and athleticism.
11. New England Patriots (via mock trade with Minnesota): Olu Fashanu, OT, Penn State
After the trade back, the Patriots add a young left tackle with massive potential due to his length, balance, strength beyond his years, and pass-pro polish. This is a pick with the long-term future in mind, and in an ideal world for New England, the two tackle spots can be solidified for an early-pick quarterback to be added in 2025.
10. New York Jets: Brock Bowers, TE, Georgia
New York is a difficult team to figure out because, yes, it did address the offensive tackle positions, but with 33-year-olds who have been unable to stay healthy. I could still see them taking a tackle with guard flexibility but also understand that they are pushing all of their chips into the middle in a small window with Aaron Rodgers. Bowers may have a bigger impact on the upcoming season than Taliese Fuaga or any other offensive lineman they would select here.
9. Chicago Bears: Rome Odunze, WR, Washington
Let's gear up early for Caleb Williams. Odunze is the best contested-catch winner in the class, gets open with reasonable regularity at his size, and proved to be a capable athlete at the NFL combine. With this pick, Chicago would have a receiver who wins at all three levels of the field -- Keenan Allen underneath, D.J. Moore intermediate and Odunze deep.
8. Atlanta Falcons: Dallas Turner, EDGE, Alabama
Atlanta has done a really nice job solidifying all of their needs on the offensive side of the ball, which takes a lot of stress out of roster management. The Falcons still have a lot of needs to fill on the defensive side of the ball for the present and the future. Dallas Turner gives them a skillset that they have lacked for many years. He is a wiry strong, dynamic pass rusher who should be able to make the opposing quarterback uncomfortable and move him off his spot.
7. Tennessee Titans: Joe Alt, OT, Notre Dame
Tennessee's GM was in San Francisco when Trent Williams arrived, so he felt the instant impact a highly athletic offensive tackle can have on an offense. Entering Year 2 of the Will Levis era, offensive tackle is a must.
6. New York Giants: Malik Nabers, WR, LSU
With Marvin Harrison Jr. off the board to Arizona, it is an easy choice for the Giants. I think Malik Nabers gives them the exact skillset that they are lacking in that room. Jalin Hyatt has the vertical speed to stretch defenses, while Wan'Dale Robinson has the shiftiness to work underneath. Nabers offers inside-outside versatility and a twitchy skill set to create plays post-catch.
5. Denver Broncos (via mock trade with Los Angeles Chargers): J.J. McCarthy, QB, Michigan
Trade! Denver will send No. 12 overall, No. 136 overall and a 2025 first-round pick to Los Angeles in exchange for the rights to the No. 5 overall selection. With that choice, the Broncos are selecting Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy. Sean Payton has not typically worked with rookie quarterbacks in the past, but McCarthy brings desired intangibles to the table and should provide much-needed stability at that position.
