The largest one is called Playa Grande and it has golden sand, clear water and an amazing view of the hills in Lanzarote.

The water here is usually calm, although it's an open beach, so it's ideal for swimming and relaxing, without worrying about the wind or big waves. There is also a section with sunbeds and umbrellas, so every type of visitor should be more than happy with this beach in Puerto del Carmen.

Behind Playa Grande, you have a long promenade, with beautiful views at sunset, which is the perfect place for long strolls along the ocean. On the other side of Avenida de Las Playas, you have a great number of bars, shops and restaurants, so you have plenty of choices for dinner and drinks.

Arrecife is the capital of Lanzarote and it is very close to Puerto del Carmen. You can get there by car or by bus, but you should know the city center is full of narrow streets and parking is sometimes hard to find.

This was our second time doing the RIB coastal adventure with waverider. As before it was an amazing experience and very professional. Was quite choppy out in open water so lots of bumping over waves and plenty of soakings from the spray, which all added to the fun. Lovely chance to swim/snorkel down at Papagayo. Thoroughly recommend this trip if you are up for some fun.

Went on the dolphin and whale watching experience. You have to be aware there is no guarantee you will see them as they are free spirited sea going creatures but you are given a real good search for them. We did see plenty of dolphins which were amazing. They were diving up and down, seemed as though they were playing with the boat or showing off as they swam right beside us. Marco the captain really tried to find something for you to see and being on a boat at see is great, so relaxing. A bonus was we had a bit of a speed blast back to the harbour, but if you don't like speed it's not done. I would recommend this experience.

What boat trips depart from the Puerto del Carmen pier?

The only departures done from the Puerto del Carmen pier are to Isla de Lobos and the sunset tour, both dolphin tours . The other boat trips depart from other docks in Lanzarote but have pick-up points in Puerto del Carmen. At the end of the reservation process, we will contact you to indicate the closest pick-up place to your accommodation and the time for all the excursions.

What sunset boat trip option is there in Puerto del Carmen?

The sunset cruise from Puerto del Carmen , is the best option to enjoy the sunset and some dolphin watching. Departure days may vary depending on the season, but this tour is done at least 2 times a week in the winter season and 3 times a week in the summer season.

Are there boats from Puerto del Carmen to Playa Blanca?

No, you can only go to Playa Blanca by road. The only ferries from Puerto del Carmen go to Puerto Calero.

Can I take a boat trip from Puerto del Carmen to Fuerteventura?

The trip from Puerto del Carmen to Fuerteventura actually leaves from the Playa Blanca pier, although it does have pick-up points in Puerto del Carmen. Meanwhile, even though the transfer between both islands is done by ferry, the Fuerteventura tour is done by road.

Besøg hyggeligste Lanzarote

Lanzarote er den fjerdestørste af De Kanariske Øer - og faktisk kun halvanden gange så stor som Danmarks klippeø, Bornholm. Her vil du møde 142.000 indbyggere - hvilket er forholds mange på så lille et areal. Det betyder, at der altid er skøn og summende atmosfære i hovedbyen, Arrecife, og feriebyen, Puerto del Carmen - der for få år siden blot var en lille fiskerhavn med kun fiskerne og deres familier som logerende. 

På Lanzarote vil du kunne gå i rå lavalandskaber med kratere og søer og bevæge dig videre via kuperede veje og stier gennem golde stendynger. Meget af øens natur er i palettens mørkeste farver, men med de omkransede kyster og små bugter af lyst sand, der konstant overdænges af våde Atlanterhavskys, er øens blandede landskab et helt fantastisk syn, som du ikke finder andre steder.

Alt det du skal vide - fra det spanske køkken til den spanske kultur

Det store land på Den Iberiske Halvø var det første rigtige charterturistland - først for busrejsende i 1950’erne og siden for millioner af flyrejsende. Her blev især Costa Brava, Mallorca og Costa del Sol nogle af danskernes foretrukne og faste ferierejsemål. Og senere, da det blev muligt at flyve til De Kanariske Øer, udviklede Spanien sig til et helårsrejsemål. Men hvor meget ved du egentlig om danskernes foretrukne destination?

• Spanien er et monarki med ca. 40 mio. indbyggere, som er placeret i Sydvesteuropa på det meste af Den Iberiske Halvø.
• Spanien består af syv autonome regioner, der alle har en form for selvstyre. Derfor har de alle forskellige traditioner, kulturer og sprog.
• Den officielle hovedstad i Spanien er Madrid, men hver region har sin egen hovedstad.

I forhold til det spanske køkken, er du måske allerede bekendt med nogle af de kulinariske oplevelser: paella og tapas - hvor førstnævnte er landets nationalret. Ser vi mere generelt på det spanske køkken, er maden kendt for at være rig på grøntsager, frugt, brød, fisk, kød og krydderier. Her er traditionelle gryderetter, som Cocido Madrileño og Estofado, et godt eksempel på netop de ingredienser.
