This paper examines the relevance of pre-primary education and sustainable national development in Nigeria. It also argued in favour of how pre-primary education could be managed in Nigeria to promote effective national development in line with the national objectives contained in the national policy on education. The above issue makes the pre-primary education a compulsory one, thus, its importance is no longer debatable. It is a starting point for the child’s general development and foundation of Nigerian educational system.
