The value of vacation.
Revel in first-class experiences without the first-class price tag. On a European cruise, unpack once and save on transportation and baggage fees as well as dining and entertainment costs. Independent land travel through Europe adds up fast — between accommodations, restaurants, train travel, taxis and more. But with Princess, you can spend more time exploring Europe and less time checking into your next hotel.
Experience Different Seasons of Europe
Sail into the season.
See the many faces of the world with seasonal European cruise sailings from Princess. In the spring, shop France’s colorful outdoor markets for hand-crafted souvenirs. Frolic through Norway’s landscapes when they fully bloom in summer. Or visit Italy in the fall to taste the first wines of the season.
Sail Aboard Our Newest Ships
Your best-in-class travel companion.
Built in Italy, our newest ships first set sail in international waters for their inaugural season. On a European cruise, you can be one of the first to travel aboard these vessels, adding a whole new level of excitement and opportunity to your trip. Plus these are the first ships designed with Princess® MedallionClass®, making them the best European cruises at sea.
See Famous Landmarks
Where history books come alive.
Between the castles, towers and ruins, Europe is teeming with ancient architecture. On a European cruise, sail into Le Havre and choose to visit the beaches of Normandy or ascend the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Walk through the Colosseum in Rome, and stop by Livorno to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Or explore hidden gems — like Belfast’s Giant’s Causeway.

Adventures for all.
In Europe, there are activities for all. With exciting tours through age-old cities, kids can see textbooks come to life and return with their own stories to tell. This beautiful continent is surrounded by water on its three sides which gives the cruisers incredible opportunities to choose an itinerary that best suits their dream vacation. Your Europe cruise can depart from Barcelona , Copenhagen , Southampton, Le Havre, Hamburg and many other European ports.
With so much to see and do, cruise lines often separate their European itineraries by regions:
Baltic and Scandinavian Cruises
There’s no better way to explore Northern Europe than with a Baltic cruise. Drift through the awe-inspiring fjords of Norway, wander around the fairytale town of Tallinn in Estonia or admire the architecture of St. Petersburg’s canals.
Cruises to the Baltic and Scandinavia are largely limited to the sunny summer months of July and August.

You can choose to explore the Western Mediterranean by pulling into port in Barcelona or Civitavecchia, taking you to the south of France and Spain. The Eastern Mediterranean may take you to the ancient ruins of Athens, the charming towns of Montenegro and the atmospheric islands of the Cyclades.
Many cruise lines offer itineraries of 7- 10 days or longer, but for those seeking a shorter vacation, MSC and Costa also offer 3-4- or 5-day cruises .
British Isles Cruises
Don’t forget that the glorious, green British Isles also welcome cruise liners throughout the year. Sail past medieval castles, charming coastal towns and spectacular highland vistas. Your Europe cruise could also take you to majestic Iceland, where days ashore promise the chance to glimpse breathtaking waterfalls and dramatic volcanoes.

Europe Cruises
Take you to the heart of history and culture, to momentous regions where civilizations once rose to glory, and to cities that define the cultural aesthetics for the rest of the world. How you choose to discover one of the most popular destinations in the world is up to you, but your Europe cruise can take you to the very best of this region's cities.
A Europe cruise can extend from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea and from the Mediterranean to the Norwegian Fjords. A Europe cruise can take you to the Roman Colossuem and Spanish Steps, or on a private tour of Palace of Versailles. If your Europe cruise ports in Barcelona, making your way through the maze of this city's 2000 years of history is only the beginning of possibilities. Discover all of Gaudi's architectural master pieces or take a tour that follows the footsteps of Picasso. If your Europe cruise takes you to Venice, you can take in the sights and sounds of this Italian oasis on a gentle gondola ride down the famous Venice Lagoon. Some of the highlights may include the Hall of Magistratures, Saint Mark's Basilica, and Palazzo Franchetti.
Europe is rich with archeological discoveries that span the entire region, from the Roman Colossuem and the Parthenon to the Temple of Poseidon and the Cathedral of Notre-Dame. Whether you want to visit London and must see Dover Castle, or you're visiting Cannes and can`t miss the Place du Casino, there is a Europe cruise for you! A Europe cruise can also take you to the rolling hills of Tuscany, to the breathtaking beauty of Vienna or to the famous Monte-Carlo Casino and Opera House.
If you're one to enjoy intimate ships and cultural authenticity, then our Europe river cruises are perfect for you as they can take you directly to the heart of charming squares, and bustling cities. A Europe river cruise can take you along the Douro River to Portugal, or along the Rhône River through Provence and Burgundy!
Europe is a land of breathtaking beauty, cultural charm, fine dining, and is a history enthusiasts dream! The hardest part will be choosing which Europe cruise itinerary best suits your dream vacation. A Europe cruise can offer everything from cultural authenticity, exquisite cuisine, world class shopping, boutique wine tasting, and the adventure of a life time. Plus, a Europe cruise can provide all the luxuries of a floating resort as you unpack once and explore exciting destinations such as France, England, Scotland, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Germany, and more!

Testimonials
I thoroughly enjoyed my cruise...it went beyond my expectations! The stateroom was lovely and the bedding and linens were superior!! The food in the main dining room was incredible, right down to the presentation. The staff in the dining room were also exceptional and created a great environment to be in. Other crew and staff that I ran into day-to-day were also very polite and professional. I would ABSOLUTELY travel with Carnival again and would highly recommend them!!!

Today's installation is illuminated nightly. Mount Royal Park is popular year-round, and on Mount Royal's slope you'll find Saint Joseph's Oratory, Canada's largest church.
Meander Old Montreal
The church interior of Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, Quebec
Old Montreal is the city's historic district. There's plenty to do within its boundaries, such as taking a spin on Old Port Montreal's observation wheel; shopping locally at Marche Bonsecours; or visiting Notre Dame Basilica, one of Canada's most stunning churches. Built by 1824, it has vaulted blue ceilings with gold stars, a gold-detailed main altar and ethereal stained-glass windows.
Montreal Botanical Garden is one of the world's largest, with over 200 bird species and 22,000 plant, flower and tree varieties. This includes bonsai, maple trees and cactus. There are several gardens to visit during your Montreal cruise, including the Chinese, Japanese and First Nations Gardens. In the summertime, the Botanical Garden also hosts events, concerts and festivals.
Local Cuisine
Montreal is known for three things: smoked meats, bagels and poutine. For Montreal-style bagels, locals recommend visiting St-Viateur Bagel. Cruise to Montreal and check out La Banquise for poutine, as it's open 24 hours. Schwartz's Deli is Canada's oldest deli and serves world-famous smoked meats.

The most popular time to cruise to Europe is during the summer months, but the shoulder seasons of spring and fall are prime times to see the continent with fewer crowds. Cruise lines sail to Europe year-round, with special voyages to view the northern lights, visit holiday markets and other wintry wonders, but there are notably less sailings during the months of January through February.
The majority of oceangoing cruise lines offer itineraries in Europe, crisscrossing the countries of Northern, Eastern and Western Europe. Princess Cruises, Celebrity, Norwegian, Regent, Azamara, Silversea, Royal Caribbean, Crystal, Holland America and more cruise lines have itineraries here. Europe is also a popular destination on river cruise lines such as Viking, Avalon, Emerald, Scenic, AmaWaterways, Uniworld and more, heading to a number of rivers including the Danube, Rhine or Douro.
What are some things to do in Europe?
Do you need a passport to take a cruise to europe, what should i pack for a cruise to europe.
Lots of sightseeing in Europe is done on foot down cobblestone streets -- pack comfortable shoes. Consider bringing clothes for both sightseeing by day and attending the opera at night, if that’s your thing. A simple pashmina or shawl for women helps keep out the chill and covers shoulders for cathedral or mosque visits. For more tips: 10 Must-Pack Items for a European Cruise .

If you’ve ever wanted to dive into the culture of the Vikings or explore what makes people in the Nordic region the so-called happiest on earth, you could do a lot worse than book a Scandinavian cruise.
Scandinavia—and Norway in particular—is an expensive place to travel around, so a cruise can make financial sense for those seeking an introduction to the region. For one price, you get your travel, accommodation, meals, and entertainment covered.
Such a trip offers the opportunity to sample various Scandinavian travel highlights , whether you prefer the Scandinavian capitals, the stunning Norwegian fjords, or soaking up the atmosphere of beautiful islands and historic ports in the Baltic Sea.
Popular Scandinavian Cruise Itineraries
Many different types of itinerary can be advertised as Scandinavian cruises. Typically, they focus on the Nordic capital cities. Some may also include the highlights of the Baltic Sea region, including the Baltic countries and ports in the north of Germany and Poland.
With popular Norwegian fjords cruises together with midnight sun and northern lights tours to the north of Norway also available, there is a lot of diversity in Scandinavian cruises.
Scandinavian Capitals : Cruise itineraries starting in the U.K. or Germany and calling in at two or even all three of Oslo, Stockholm, and Copenhagen have long been popular.

Helsinki is often included on such itineraries. If you want to explore modern Scandinavia while gaining access to some of the region’s best museums, such an itinerary is a perfect choice.
Such itineraries tend to be shorter, and are a great introduction to both cruising and Scandinavia, with limited sea days and plenty to see and do while in port.
Baltic Sea : Longer Scandinavian itineraries often include stops at Baltic Sea islands and ports. The beautiful Estonian capital city, Tallinn, or the Latvian capital, Riga, are particular highlights, as are ports on the northern coastline of Germany and Poland.
For those interested in Viking history, look out for smaller ship itineraries featuring Visby on the wonderful island of Gotland .
One such trip is this 12-night itinerary from Celebrity Cruises, which includes a visit to both Visby and Tallinn. Other highlights include a visit to Stockholm and Copenhagen, including an overnight stop in the latter.
The old city walls of Visby on Gotland island, a popular cruise port.
Norwegian Fjords : By far the most variety can be found in the Norwegian fjords region , with almost all major cruise lines operating at least some itineraries here. Although port calls in Flåm and Geiranger will soon be severely limited, many alternative ports will still be able to welcome some of the world’s largest cruise ships.
Whether you prefer the action-packed ships of Royal Caribbean or MSC, or the smaller ships that can sail along narrower fjords, there will be a Norwegian fjords itinerary for you.
Following the recent rise in popularity of the region as a cruising destination, the fjords season has extended, with trips available as early as April and as late as September.
British line P&O Cruises operates its relatively new megaship Iona in the fjords region for much of that period, with regular departures from Southampton on a popular 7-day itinerary.
Midnight Sun : Although all summer cruises in the region will experience long summer days, specific midnight sun itineraries set sail for the far north of Norway to let guests experience the thrill of being outside with the sun in the sky at midnight. Many of these trips visit Honningsvåg, which allows guests to travel by bus to the North Cape.
Northern Lights : In recent years, Scandinavia—or more specifically Norway—has become a year-round cruising destination thanks to the growth in popularity of northern lights cruises .

These itineraries can be found heading north of the Arctic Circle between October and early April.
Planning Tips For Scandinavian Cruises
Cruising in Northern Europe offers a fantastic variety of excursions and experiences, from historical city tours to adrenaline-filled outdoor adventures.
The region’s love of the outdoors lifestyle means active experiences are easy to find, both through cruise line excursions and independent operators.
The high levels of English comprehension across the region means booking your own activities and exploring ports independently is much easier than in many other parts of the world. Even so, look for independent tours that take place earlier in the day to reduce any time-related risk.
No matter when you visit Scandinavia, pack for all weathers. The height of summer can be marred by heavy rainfall, while it’s possible to get sunburnt in the snow-covered conditions of February and March.
Pack a versatile wardrobe. Layered clothing accommodates the region's variable weather, while specialized gear might be necessary for specific excursions.
Cruising And Sustainability
Prospective travelers should be aware of environmental concerns associated with cruising in this pristine region. The industry is moving towards sustainability, with initiatives to introduce zero-emission vessels in sensitive areas, particularly the UNESCO-listed Norwegian fjords .
Some local initiatives protesting against cruise travel have also gathered momentum, so cruisers should be aware of these issues before setting foot ashore.
