A place where ancient legends meet relaxed Mediterranean lifestyle, this island hotspot is home to popular resorts such as Ayia Napa, Protaras, Limassol and Paphos. But look beyond the beaches and you’ll find a refreshing contrast of pine-clad hills and remote monasteries

The third largest island in the Mediterranean with a 648km coastline, Cyprus is a place of hidden coves, busy beach resorts, quiet villages and rugged terrain.

• Spend a day at one of the island’s beautiful beaches, especially around Protaras in the east of the island.

• Among the highlights of the archaeological park of Paphos is the Unesco-listed Tomb of Kings which dates to the 4th century BC, while the Roman mosaic floors in the area are also impressive.

• Visit the Troodos Mountains, which are peppered with Byzantine monasteries, sleepy villages, leading up to the island’s highest peak, Mount Olympus, which has four ski slopes.

• Kebabs, meze, moussaka, stuffed vine leaves, halloumi – what’s not to love about Cypriot cuisine?

A very appealing Mediterranean climate makes it possible to enjoy pleasant weather year-round here, with 340 days of sunshine annually. Things heat up from around April, rising to more than 40C sometimes during the long, hot, summers. Winters are relatively mild with rain between December and February.

• Cyprus is named after the Greek word for copper because it once had large resources of the metal.

• The island has a huge population of cats – legend has it that they were originally brought over to Cyprus in the 4th century to help deal with poisonous snakes.

• Cyprus claims to be the sunniest country in Europe with an average of 340 days of sunshine per year.

• Nicosia continues to be the only divided capital city in world, which has been the case since the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.

• The village of Lefkara in central Cyprus is renowned for making lace and it is believed even Leonardo Da Vinci purchased lace from Lefkara in the 15th century.

The southern city is known for its combination of historic sites, sunny weather and sandy beaches. One of its most iconic natural attractions is the white salt lake, which attracts thousands of flamingos every winter. The city is also home to several fascinating historic sites such as the Unesco-listed ancient ruins of Choirokoitia and Byzantine monuments. Enjoy a meal on the seafront overlooking the Mediterranean, or head inland into more authentic neighbourhoods filled with traditional whitewashed buildings. Larnaca is an excellent base to explore the rest of the island thanks to a network of modern motorways.

This city and region on the western coast of Cyprus features some of the island’s most iconic sights such as the mythical birthplace of Aphrodite at Old Paphos, also known as Kouklia. The new city blends modern infrastructure with natural attractions, such as its harbour, and a rich history that can be seen at Paphos Archaeological Park with its tombs, villas, theatres and fortresses. The Paphos region has the longest coastline in Cyprus and is known for having some of the most unspoilt areas of the island. Both the city and surrounding areas have been undergoing a major regeneration of facilities as part of its status as European Capital of Culture for 2017.

The capital city has been divided since the Turkish invasion of 1974 and the ‘Green Line’ buffer zone is still manned by the United Nations. The southern part of Nicosia is also known as Lefkosia. Tourists can now visit both parts of the city in a single day to experience the cultural contrasts between the Greek and Turkish areas of Nicosia. While the city is less of a tourist hub than Cyprus’ coastal gateways, there’s plenty to see including the Venetian Walls of the old city, Cyprus Museum and Shacolas Tower to enjoy spectacular views of northern Cyprus. Nicosia is also home to some of the island’s best restaurants and finest shops.

At first glance, Cypriot cuisine may seem very similar to Greek food and many of the classic Greek specialties, such as moussaka, kleftiko, stuffed vine leaves and souvlakia (kebabs), will be found on most menus. There is also a strong Middle Eastern flavour to many Cypriot dishes, particularly in the form of its meze dishes. One of Cyprus’ most famous delicacies is grilled halloumi hand-made cheese. Cypriots tend to eat out after 8pm and the best places to find authentic local restaurants include the old towns of cities such as Larnaca, Limassol and Nicosia.

Cypriot culture is one of the richest in the Mediterranean due to its history of being colonised by the region’s great powers over the last few millennia.

All of these empires have left their marks on the island while most of the current population have either Greek or Turkish heritage.

Cypriots of all backgrounds are hugely welcoming to visitors and particularly to families with young children. They are also extremely inquisitive and love to find out about where their guests come from.

One of Cyprus’ most iconic wildlife experiences is seeing the thousands of flamingos that migrate to Larnaca’s salt lake every winter. This population can number up to 10,000 flamingos between November and March. More than 380 species of bird can be seen on the island due to Cyprus being on the migration route between Europe and Africa, including magnificent falcons and eagles. Sea turtles are another attraction with Lara Beach on the Akamas Peninsula, near Paphos, being one of their favourite spots to nest – there is a conservation station on the beach to protect these fascinating creatures. The unique moufflon species of sheep can also be spotted in the forests near Paphos.

The island’s history dates back more than 10,000 years and is known as the birthplace of the mythical Greek goddess of love, Aphrodite. Many empires once ruled Cyprus including the ancient Greeks, Persians, Romans, Ottomans and the British. The country endured a turbulent period in the middle of the 20th century before becoming an independent republic in 1960, only to see the island divided into north and south by the Turkish invasion in 1974. The United Nations continues to patrol the ‘Green Line’ that separates the two parts of the island. Tensions have eased in recent years and tourists can now travel from the south to the north and back again.

Booking the tour through Tourradar was quite easy and even though I had not heard of Cyprus Incoming Tour before, I booked this tour because of Tourradar. Overall, the tour was good and our group had 8 people with half of them from Spain. So, the tour guide, George, explained everything in both Spanish and English. I was impressed with all the sites, especially the occupied Northern Cyprus, which was eye-opening to see the tension and see all the occupying forces. I gave the tour 4 stars instead of 5 stars because there were a few issues, which could be improved in future offerings of this tour. First, another tour member and I who booked this tour through Tourradar were booked for only 5 nights at the Best Western Plus hotel in Laranaca even though the tour itinerary clearly said the tour included 7 night hotel accommodation. When I checked in at the hotel, the hotel reception staff said the reservation was only for 5 nights and didn't know what would happen for the remaining 2 nights. I messaged Cyprus Incoming through Tourradar and they promptly acknowledged the mistake, and said they would resolve it. I didn't know Cyprus Incoming had subcontracted the tour to another company called OLTA Travel, which had to correct the issue. In the meantime, when I checked with the hotel staff 2 days later, one of the staff at the front desk was very abrupt and said the reservation was only for 5 nights and there were no rooms available for the remaining 2 nights. This caused a lot of anxiety and concern, but eventually the hotel accommodation was extended for 7 nights. There were 2 other members of the tour group, who were booked in another hotel 25 kms away, which delayed the tour each day by half hour or more as the tour bus had to pick them up first and then drive to our hotel. So, the hotel accommodation issue must be resolved in future tours, and those who book the tours must be clearly informed that Cyprus Incoming organizes the tour through OLTA Travel. Best Western Plus is a good hotel but its location in the middle of a residential area instead of near the city center was not ideal. One had to walk at least 15 to 20 minutes to get to the city center. Second, the tour guide George was good but if he emails or uses Whatsapp as other tour companies do to inform the tour group what the next day's itinerary would be, what to bring, what to wear (as some in the group couldn't enter a famous mosque because they were wearing shorts and sleeveless shirts), lunch is included or not, approximately at what time we would return back to the hotel, etc., it would be very helpful. Some tour group members get nauseated on long bus rides and so including information on how long the ride before a stop would be very helpful. Also, a brief overview of the country on the first day will help the group orient itself to the tour better. Third, if the lunch duration is shortened and the time is used for seeing more sites, it would be great as some of us may not return again to the same country to see one or two important places. I really wanted to see the mosaics in Paphos but we didn't as we spent nearly 2 hours at lunch. Fourth, we had a leisure day but there were no recommendations on what we could see on our own, how to get the transportation, etc. It would have been nice to be given a list of options not covered by the tour itinerary. Overall, the tour was good and Cyprus is a wonderful country to visit. It has a lot of history, interesting sites to visit, beautiful beaches to enjoy, and if the mentioned issues could be addressed, this tour would be excellent.

Over all we had good experiences, and we felt the tour was a good value. The only complain we had is the communication on line with the Cyprus destination tour company before the tour. It was not clear where to find the downloaded information, our repeated questions were often not answered, such as the name and the location of our first night hotel. Nobody ever informed us about the half boarding with our hotel that caused us missing two dinners at the hotel.

• Any Increase in Airfare, Visa Fees, Airport Tax & Forex will be applicable.
• One can enroll His/Her name for the tour by paying 50% of the total tour cost for any tour as advance. The balance amount must be paid at least 30 days before schedule date of departure of the tour, without waiting for reminder from our side.
• Tourist travel at their own risk. Neither the tour operator nor their representative or staff accept any liability or responsibility for any damages, loss, injury, accident, etc. During the tour howsoever it might have caused.
• The operator also reserves the right to cancel or alter the routes, carriers, time table, itinerary and hotel accommodation with or without prior notice.
• Any increase in Train / Air / Bus / Visa / Cruise fares should be borne by the passenger only.
• The management reserves the right to take all necessary steps including suspending the passenger who creates trouble for the management or to other fellow passengers.
• During sight seeing we will take the vehicle to certain limit or to the permissible point only, from that point any arrangement to be made all extra expenses shall have to be borne by the passengers only.
• We always try to provide excellent services to our beloved passenger. Even though if any passenger has any complain or claim it must be given in writing to our office within 15 days after completion of the tour. No complain or claim will be entertained after such period.
• Refunds if any will be given after a period of 10 days from the date admissible claim. Refunds will be paid only by cheque and only against original Receipts. Hotels are subject to changes without Prior Notice.
• Timing mentioned for the journey are only estimated for the sake of knowledge. There are frequent changes of delay in arrival at the destination due to various reasons.
• The seats in the bus are allotted on First come First Serve basis at the time of booking of the tour.
• All disputes / legal claims are subject to Mumbai jurisdiction only.
• Extra bed in the room means only extra mattress. (No cot)
• In case of postponement of Inbound Journey date change charges Rs. 2000/- per pax per change shall be applicable.
• Any Govt. Tax levied must be borne by the passengers only.
• Preponement of journey is not allowed. It will be treated as cancellation & accordingly the cancellation charges will be applicable.
• If accommodation is not available in the identified / specific hotel for the particular package tour due to reason beyond our control, we shall make our best efforts to shift the clients to hotel maintaining / having more or less the same standard. No complaint or claim shall be made by the client in this respect.
• There is no REFUND payable for unutilized services during the course of tour. This includes meals, sight seeing, optional tours, hotels, etc.
• All the passengers will have to carry foreign currency of minimum USD 500 per person.
• Wonder Earth Tour acts as a representative of the passenger to apply Visa on his behalf with all the relevant documents as per the rules of the respective consulates. It is the passenger responsibility to comply with all the requirements of the respective consulates and obtain the Visa. We will not be responsible or liable for any additional expenses incurred due to non - availability of Visa, error in dates of Visa granted or scanned photograph on the Visa. In case of refusal of Visa all cancellation charges will be applicable including the non - refundable booking amount.
• If any Airline is delayed or Canceled, Wonder Earth Tour is not responsible for any compensation for Hotels, Meals, Sight Seeing or any other claim.

• We are travel agent and holiday organizers only and act as agent for clients on one side and the operators of various facilities on the other side in the best interest of the clients. We do not own any hotel, do not control or operate any airline and other services like transport, services of guide(s) or any individual services etc. Although we try our best to arrange and render best services yet we do not hold any responsibility on any account whatsoever of the performance of the hotel, airlines, guide services, transport services, opening of the sight seeing places, other services or anything else on which we do not have direct control. • If the Guest decides to cancel the tour for any reason whatsoever then s/he shall give a written application to the Company within specified time limit along with original receipt issued by the Company. Such cancellation will attract cancellation charges stated hereunder.
• Cancellation charges will be calculated on gross tour cost and the cancellation charges shall depend on date of departure and date of cancellation
• Cancellation charges for any type of transport ticket are applicable as per the rules of the concerned authority.
• Air tickets issued on special fares are NON REFUNDABLE and Guest shall bear cancellation charges.
• Any refund payable to the Guest will be paid after the Company receives refund from the respective authorities. The Company deducts processing charges from the refund to be paid to the Guest.
• From the date of booking to 46 days prior to the scheduled departure of tour . . . . . 25%

UAE nationals are not required to apply visa to travel to Cyprus.

Holders of VALID MULTIPLE ENTRY Schengen visa are not required to apply for a visa to travel to Cyprus.

Every applicant can submit his/her Cyprus visa application within 80 Days of date of return from Cyprus. Please book your appointment according to the given condition only.

VFS Service Charges

Customers applying at VFS Global Abu Dhabi shall be levied a service charge of AED 105.00 (inclusive of VAT) per application.

Customers applying at VFS Global Dubai shall be levied a service charge of AED 155.00 (inclusive of VAT) per application.

Please be informed that the fees charged by the Embassy or VFS Global are based on the current exchange rate in local currency and may be subject to change without prior notification.

VFS service fee (inclusive of VAT) is charged per visa application, in addition to the applicable visa fee.

Customers under employment must provide NOC or Salary Certificate that is originally signed by authorized signatory and originally stamped. Copies/ Printouts/Scanned copies of Original and electronic copies are not accepted.

Customers who are Partners or Investors in UAE also must provide NOC/ Salary Certificate along with their company Trade License.

Customers on Self-Sponsor Visa must provide an original letter with their original signatures highlighting visa status, travel dates/details, financial independence/ source of income. Trade License of any company owned fully or in partnership must be provided.

Insurance is required for Cyprus effective 28.03.2023.

Cyprus is only part of EU and not Schengen States.

The photographs must be:

• no more than 6-months old
• 35–40 mm in width
• close of your head and top of your shoulders so that your face takes up 70–80% of the photograph.
• in sharp focus and clear
• of high quality with no ink marks or crease

The photographs must:

• show you looking directly at the camera.
• show your skin tones naturally.
• have appropriate brightness and contrast.
• be printed on high quality paper, and at high resolution.
• Photographs taken with a digital camera must be high quality colour and printed on photo-quality paper.
• be colour neutral.
• show your eyes open and clearly visible—no hair across your eyes.
• show you facing square on to the camera, not looking over one shoulder (portrait style) or tilted and showing both edges of your face clearly.
• be taken with a plain, white-coloured background.
• the photograph must show your eyes clearly with no flash reflection off the glasses, and no tinted lenses (if possible, avoid heavy frames— wear lighter framed glasses if you have them)
• make sure that the frames do not cover any part of your eyes.

Head coverings:

• are not permitted except for religious reasons, but your facial features from bottom of chin to top of forehead and both edges of your face must be clearly shown.

Your photographs must:

• show you alone (no chair backs, toys or other people visible), looking at the camera with a neutral expression and your mouth closed

The processing time of a visa application is approximately 15 working days, so applicants are advised to leave enough time - between the appointment date and travel date - for the Mission to process their visa application; no guarantees can be given on the visa application’s return date as delays may occur.

In order to avoid any delays in the visa application process, it is paramount that the visa application is complete and its documents submitted are as per the Mission’s requirements.

Applicants also need to be aware that, especially during busy season around Eid, Summer holidays (July and August) and Christmas, the appointments are being booked very quickly as the Mission only processes a fixed amount of visa applications on a daily basis.

Furthermore applicants need to consider that VFS/Mission’s closures and holidays may extend the visa application processing time.

Therefore VFS recommends all applicants:

• To book their appointment as soon as they know they’ll be travelling
• To ensure that their visa application’s documentation meets the Mission’s requirements
• To leave enough processing time for the Mission

I am going to be just factual, not bad mouthing nor complaining, but this was my experience. With 3 pieces of luggage, I was told the flight from Mumbai to Dubai was cancelled due to flood. This was told not by the airport board which still showed the regular time of departure, but general stuff at the airport. No Emirates stuff around to direct the transfer passengers of the cancelled flights. By the departure counters with crowds of people, one by one, angry, frustrated, urgent conversations were going on. No announcement were made, no postings being seen, just private conversations. I still have 5+ hours of layover, so I let more urgent people settled first. However, the fact that no communication of when, what and where I should go was very unsettling. Basically no time limit waiting means, no meal, no sleep, no step away, no planning, no change plan, no telling of the family what to do. Nobody was able to tell you anything but asked you to wait, no chair, no space, no facility to freshen up. That went on for 10+ (from 5) hour without warnings and accurate communications. Email received from Emirates asked me not to go to Dubai at all, or boarding at the time that was passed. In other words, communication were very untimely, after the fact. That created more confusion instead. After changing several of boarding time, we were given the gate # and a boarding pass. However, the boarding pass still have the original time of boarding, so again, not knowing walking 30 min in the airport to the gate would make you late or not, therefore, still dare not to eat a meal. The flight arriving to Dubai was uneventful and I gave a 4/5 rating. I just thought the layover at Dubai would just cut short from 8+ hours to 2+ hours. At Dubai airport, I saw people sleeping on cardboard, knowing, these people got stranded but they dared to sleep because they know when to board and I didn't. Or these kind of delay are just so normal that people know what to do to pass time. Then the worst service and crazy thing happened. The boarding time on board for LA and at gate A9 was clearly 8:50AM. At 8:40, surprised by not having any boarding activities, then one single staff showed up and said to a few passengers that the boarding would be delayed without a time frame. Since only a few people know, I asked another Emirates staff at another counter, who simply said basically non of his business. I was shocked with that indifferent attitude. Yet every boards I saw show the same boarding time. What kind of system failure was that to prepare delay situation! How confusing and unnecessary chaos and anger that provoke. That poor staff had to repeat himself so many times, answered questions that he had no power nor information to provide nor solved. One an only one stuff to show up for 10 min, leaving the counter non-staff with board showing 8:50AM boarding. This was purely irresponsible from top to bottom of the entire airline operation staff. What kind of leader in a service industry would allow this to happen to their customers. Without explanation, after changing 3 times the boarding times, again, means you should not go to eat a full meal, because, when you found a mob at the gate. People who were stranded for 2 days were afraid of not getting a seat with a full plane. That would not be happening if the airline provide adequate guidance to each person, instead of just having 4 staff yelling at the gate at the same time to "control" the crowd, threatening no boarding and delay boarding. Finally, I was on board, hungry and tired, not sleep for 36 hours. I was denied with a snack of fruit. By the time meal was served, it was an hour later. Half way of the trip, I felt sleep in fetus position and did not want to move, happy I finally could have some shut eyes time. However, when I got up to the bathroom, I felt very light headed. Having sleep deprived, constipated for 3 days, dehydrated, I knew it could happen since my blood pressure usually was low closed to 90/60. Any lower then that, I could have syncope. Sure enough, I was on the floor just 10 feet from my seat and 5 feet to the bathroom. However, nobody called for help. I asked for warm water and juice to hydrate, came only with cold and icy drinks which I wouldn't take. I asked for blankets, one was given. Yet my shivering, needs to cover my head and multiple requests did not hasten to take the two blankets that are at my seat 10 feet away. I waited 10 min for that. While 2-3 staff surrounded me, nobody did the vitals until after 15 min, just the spirometer only of which did not work due to my cold fingers. The first reading was 86 and oxygen was suggested. But another supervising personnel came, fussed over another reading, ignoring my comfort and needs. Seemingly the reading of spirometer was the priority. By then, no oxygen needed. I had this fainting experience before, and I knew how to help myself. However, I was not being listened to but to be told this and that. Finally, I got better and returned to seat. One kind flight attendant said she would check back with me in 15 min. She did not come back. I felt asleep in that fetus position again and this time I woke up with a bad cramp at my left leg. Yet I needed to go to bathroom, the cramp was too bad to walk. So I stepped back to seat. When I tried again the second time, the other front leg got cramp. This time I dare not move but massaged myself. For all these 5-10 min, I called for attention. Attendants passed me by because they were carried with heavy load of blankets and stuff. Nobody answered the light. Then came landing and off board. I was asked by two attendants how I felt. I smiled and said "fine".

The customer service was very poor. I didn’t get any accommodations for my cancelled flight. I was without any sleep for 36 hours.

Flight never took off. Boarded after multiple 30 minutes interval delays for hours.. then after an hour onboard, captain announce cancellation and back on the bus to the terminal with no information and everyone to fend for self.. Emirates did absolutely nothing to communicate either electronically or announcement. It’s unprecedented I know with the flood but lack of communication creates anxiety and extra pain for staff. Emirates should do better.. no supervisors monitoring floor and passengers abusing them which isn’t right but should Have had supervisors monitoring

Worst ever. No assistance and communication from Emirates crew. No visibility of when the flight is flying. Couldn’t understand if we can go to lounge to take rest. Emirates system at a certain point said flight is not operating and suggested to take the next flight and in few minutes it suddenly opened the gate for boarding. unsupportive and rude crew. Worst experience ever. Flight was delayed by 5 hours so need the compensation for that.

The customers before boarding the plane from Dubai was HORRENDOUS. The entire Emirates staff had a stick up their bum. The guy at the check in booth was rude. I don’t understand.

Fantastic, the 787-9 is a very beautifully designed plane and it was a pleasure to fly in the Qsuite. The suite did feel slightly smaller than the 777 variant, and the suite door also felt smaller, as I felt more exposed as passengers and crew walked past. Food was too notch, and the service was fantastic. I wish they’d enforce boarding zones more effectively, but otherwise they did really well.

Online check-in doesn't work. That's why I couldn't give it full Star.

I liked the overall service and comfort. The only annoying thing was paying for excess baggage at the airport. They have limited options and they don't take all cards.

Boarding procedures are very tiring. We have to clear security twice for our connecting flights from Doha. Also every time we board flights we have to show boarding passes 5-6 times.

The staffs were very good and helpful especially since we were traveling with a toddler

The boarding process was unpleasant. We had hardly any checked baggage, but they insisted on weighing the cabin baggage. While the weight of our cabin bag was well within limit, it seemed petty! The food was pretty disgusting. I had such awful food on the way over, that I brought some snacks of my own for the flight back. Glad I did. Qatar was consistent in that food was just as terrible on the way back as it was on the way over. The flight attendants were super-nice, though. If I had an option I would not take Qatar Airways again.

They ran out of some of the popular food items. 😞

The qatar airways flights were great, the code share with Indigo could have been a lot better. There is no option for web check in, there is not information on the tickets for the INDIGO PNR this caused a problem with security letting us into the airport. The indigo staff did not even want us to line up before they opened the counters. There is not option on the indigo flgith to request special meals.

Ordinary Indian food... Not great. Limited movie and TV selection

In business class and attendants acted like bothering them when asking for water. Which they didn’t even offer at all during the flight.

Had a bitter experience with RJ, and had the challenge to login to account no information about what went wrong and not being able to select the food option after check-in flight they don't have any vegetarian food option on the flight, and they told us to have to select the food option before boarding :( i had the challenge of login into my account, with explaining all the details to crew members they told they don't have any vegetarian food to serve for my entire family throughout the journey and my baggage does not arrive to the destination on time. Overall its very bad experience for my entire family

The plane left Istanbul 1 hour late and the AC was not really working great it was so hot inside and no air. This was my worst flight in a long time since I had a flight with Ryanair.
