Dave Matthews Band Plot First European Tour Dates in Five Years

For the first time in nearly five years, the Dave Matthews Band will return to Europe for a fully-fledged tour. The newly shared dates are slated to begin on April 2, when the ensemble takes the stage at Afas Live in Amsterdam, followed by a tight run of additional stops, intermixed with a pair of London appearances at the famed Royal Albert Hall.

After the initial tour date, Dave Matthews Band will take part in two stops in Germany before a jaunt up to Oslo, where they will play on April 7. While in the region, the jammers will also participate in concerts in Stockholm and Copenhagen before turning up in Poland on April 14. Continuing the run, they’ll take up dates in Berlin and Prague before a trio of Italian stops.

As mentioned, the band will jump over to London on April 24 and 25 for two gigs, in addition to an ensuing occasion at 3 Arena in Dublin. Afterward, they’ll pick up a gig at O2 Apollo in Manchester, a sprinkling of added European appearances in Brussels and Paris, as well as a tour finale on May 5 at Altice Arena in Lisbon.

The newly announced European tour dates will arrive after the annual Dave & Tim destination concert vacation in Mexico. Learn more . Tickets for DMB’s European tour dates go on sale to the general public this Friday, Sept. 22. For more information, visit the band’s official website .

Dave Matthews Band

Dave Matthews Band is returning this year with a new album and a full summer tour in support. The veteran, record-setting rock band announced on Tuesday (Jan. 24) that Walk Around the Moon , their 10th studio album, is set to drop May 19 via RCA Records.

Looking Ahead: A Release Calendar of Upcoming Albums in 2023

Spanning 12 original tracks, Walk Around the Moon was formed during the pandemic and “is as much a reflection on the current times as it is an urge to find common ground,” reads a statement from the band.

Trending on Billboard

Producer Rob Evans worked on “Madman’s Eyes,” which DMB road-tested at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, back in November 2021.

The fresh cut blends Middle Eastern vibes with horns and strings, and sees Matthews pose the question, “When it’s too late to untwist the knife/ How do we face hatred with the love inside us.”

Longtime collaborator John Alagia served as executive producer of Walk Around the Moon , with Evans working on most of its tracks. A limited-edition deluxe vinyl option is available exclusively at the official DMB website .

With the new collection comes a major North American jaunt. Following three dates in Mexico, DMB will kick off its U.S. run at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, Texas, on May 19. As the calendar currently stands, the trek is scheduled to wrap Sept. 3 with the last in a three-night stand at Gorge Amphitheatre, in George, Wash.

Walk Around the Moon is the follow-up to Come Tomorrow from 2018, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 , the band’s seventh consecutive leader, a hot streak that dates back to 1998’s Before These Crowded Streets. DMB is the only group to see seven straight studio albums bow at No. 1 on the U.S. tally.

Formed in Charlottesville, Va., in 1991, DMB has more than 25 million career ticket sales and upwards of 38 million combined CD and DVD sales, according to reps.

Though, despite winning the fan vote by a wide margin in 2020, DMB has yet to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Tickets for the DMB summer tour will be available to the general public beginning Feb. 17 at 10 a.m. local time.

Visit davematthewsband.com for more information, or check the DMB Warehouse Fan Association for presales.

Dave Chisnall wins fourth European Tour title with victory over Luke Humphries

Dave Chisnall beats Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton on his route to victory over Luke Humphries in the final of the Intwetten Baltic Sea Darts Open, clinching his fourth PDC European Tour title.

Dave Chisnall claimed his fourth PDC European Tour title as he opened the 2023 season with an 8-5 victory over Luke Humphries in the final of the Intwetten Baltic Sea Darts Open title in Kiel on Sunday night.

The year's opening £175,000 European Tour event saw a record-breaking number of maximums landed across the three days at the Wunderino Arena, before Chisnall left with the £30,000 top prize.

Humphries had won four European Tour titles during 2022 and was bidding to back up his No 1 seeding with another success - but saw Chisnall prove too strong in an entertaining decider.

Chisnall took the opening three legs without reply, capitalising on four early missed doubles from Humphries to take command.

Humphries hit back to level, landing legs of 13 and 12 darts along the way, and also shared the next two before Chisnall pulled clear.

Legs of 12 and 13 darts gave Chisnall breathing space, and double five gave him a third successive leg - and though Humphries took the next to keep his hopes alive, double five for a 13-darter sealed glory.

"I've had a great tournament," said Chisnall, who hit eight 180s in the final. "Luke is phenomenal, so I'm glad to get a win over him.

"I'm playing good darts at the moment and hopefully it continues. I love playing in front of [German fans], they've been a great crowd and gave me so much respect."

Chisnall's average of 101.31 in the final was bettered by his sensational 107.04 average to see off Gerwyn Price in Sunday afternoon's third round.

YOUR CHAMPION! 🏆 Dave Chisnall's love affair with the European Tour continues! ✅ Gerwyn Price ✅ Martin Schindler ✅ Jonny Clayton ✅ Luke Humphries What a route to glory for Chisnall, who lifts the inaugural Interwetten Baltic Sea Darts Open title in Kiel! 👏 pic.twitter.com/kzqlIzMR9A — PDC Darts (@OfficialPDC) February 26, 2023

He then edged past German favourite Martin Schindler in the quarter-finals before winning an extraordinary semi-final with Jonny Clayton 7-5.

Clayton hit back from 2-0 down with finishes of 122 and 120 in a five-leg burst to move 5-2 up - only for seven missed doubles in leg eight to prove a turning point.

Chisnall capitalised and took five legs in a row without missing a double - landing an 11-darter, a two-tops 100 checkout and 88 on the bull to secure his spot in a tenth European Tour final, where he claimed a fourth title.

World No 5 Humphries leaves Kiel with £12,000 as runner-up after suffering defeat in a European Tour final for the first time.

The top seed was in fine form as he overcame Dimitri Van den Bergh and Dirk van Duijvenbode to reach the semi-finals, where he survived two missed match darts from Ryan Searle in the closing stages of the contest.

Premier League star Clayton saw off Stephen Bunting and Steve Beaton on Sunday as he reached the last four, while Searle's run to the same stage saw him overcome Martijn Dragt and Keegan Brown for the loss of just three legs before he was edged out by Humphries.

PDC European Tour Order of Merit: Dave Chisnall wins ranking, Michael van Gerwen best Dutchman in third place

Dave Chisnall has crowned himself the best player of the 2023 European Tour . After thirteen tournaments, "Chizzy" tops the PDC European Tour Order of Merit .

The Englishman earned a total of 126,000 pounds in his thirteen appearances. Chisnall managed to get through the third round only four times at a Euro Tour tournament in 2023, but when he did he always made it to the final. The multiple major finalist won three of these finals and had to settle for second place once.

"He's a fantastic player and it's great for darts" - Classy Peter Wright sporting in defeat following German Darts Championship final

Luke Humphries was the king of second-place finishes on the Euro Tour this year. 'Cool Hand Luke' made as many as six finals, but managed to win only one. Humphries finished second in the final ranking with 114,500 pounds.

Behind the two Englishmen, Michael van Gerwen is the highest-ranked Dutchman with £85,500. Van Gerwen won one Euro Tour title this year and lost one final. Gerwyn Price is number four on the Euro Tour Order of Merit with £80,500. 'The Iceman' played only six Euro Tour tournaments in 2023, but did pick up two titles.

Dirk van Duijvenbode was close to a Euro Tour title twice this season, but lost his two finals 8-7 to Price and Humphries. At 69,000 pounds, 'Aubergenius' finished seventh in the rankings. Van Duijvenbode thus finished ahead of Michael Smith and Peter Wright , who did win a Euro Tour tournament in 2023.

''I know I can beat the best in the world" - Ricardo Pietreczko hopes stunning German Darts Championship victory is just the start of his success

Reese signed an NIL deal with Mercedes-Benz of Baton Rouge and received her first Benz ahead of her 21st birthday in May 2023.

“Getting my dream car at 21 in my new favorite city >>>>>,” she wrote in a post on TikTok that featured her behind the wheel while her teacup Yorkie, Tiago, sat in the passenger’s seat.

Angel Reese showed off her brand new Mercedes Benz SUV on social media on April 23, 2024.

Reese has a total of 17 different NIL deals, according to a March 2023 report by Sponsor United, which includes ZOA Energy drink, Raising Cane’s, Coach, PlayStation, McDonald’s, Wingstop, Outback Steakhouse and Amazon.

Reese worked with Mercedes-Benz to get her first car in the NIL era, something she revealed a few weeks after LSU clinched its first-ever women’s NCAA basketball title with a win over Iowa in 2023.

BIG BODY BENZ BARBIE! 👀💖Why not get a new car when it’s your 21st birthday week??? 🥳Thank you @mercedesbenzbatonrouge for helping me purchase my NEW CAR!! I wouldn’t be the BAYOU BARBIE without @matchpconnect @bayoutraditions #BAYOUBARBIETURNS21 #GODDID pic.twitter.com/EF2ERqVruq — Angel Reese (@Reese10Angel) May 1, 2023

Caitlin Clark and the Hawkeyes eliminated LSU from this year’s tournament in the Elite Eight, and Iowa came up short against the South Carolina Gamecocks in the championship matchup on April 7.

The Indiana Fever selected Clark with the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.

The WNBA will open training camps on April 28 and the season starts May 14.

My concert buddy bailed on me, so I took my 9 year old twins to see him in DC. We were right up front, Dave kept giving my girls fist bumps throughout the night and handed one a guitar pick. Safe to say, Dave Hause was an excellent choice for their very first concert!! Thanks, Dave, for giving my kiddos a memorable experience, they talked about it for weeks. Can’t wait to see you again!

Great show, great sound...Dave & his brother Tim sounded phenomenal. And the songs they were joined by opener Kayleigh Goldsworthy were also fantastic. A great setlist, venue is awesome with great sound...It's really nice when you see a show & the show & artist come through in spades...This was one of those. Great job Dave, Tim & Kayleigh...

One of the highlights of the show. It was killer because his performance came from the heart and he wasn't phoning it in. Meeting him and getting an autographed LP was awesome

Chief Officer Awards Finalist Dave Yockman: ‘Dream Big, Set Lofty Goals, Develop and Execute a Plan’

dave europe tour 2023

The finalists for WashingtonExec’s Chief Officer Awards were announced March 28, and we’ll be highlighting some of them until the event takes place live, in-person May 10.

Next is Dave Yockman, CEO of Edgewater Federal Solutions, and finalist in the Private & Public Company Chief Executive Officer (Annual Revenue Greater than $100M and Less than $500M) category. Here, he shares key achievements, focus areas going forward, career advice and more.

What key achievements did you have in 2023?

Edgewater Federal Solutions had a standout year in 2023. Revenue growth was impressive, reaching a solid 30% year-over-year increase. We won all our recompete contracts and secured a significant $138 million datacenter management contract with the FBI. On the internal front, we focused on refining our corporate processes and boosting automation to serve our customers and employees even better.

As for workplace culture, we maintained our status as an award-winning workplace. We were recognized as a Washington Post Top Workplace for the sixth year in a row and listed among the Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Private Companies for the fifth consecutive year.

We also picked up honors from Inc and OrangeSlices, which was exciting! Our commitment to community support remained strong, as we backed more than 37 community organizations in 2023. Overall, it’s been a year of growth, recognition, and community involvement for Edgewater.

What are your primary focus areas going forward, and why are those so important to the mission?

Going forward we are focused on sustaining our year-over-year growth, deepening our technical capabilities and service offerings, and providing innovation for our customers to more cost effectively achieve their critical missions, all while keeping the family friendly employee and customer centric culture instilled by Richard Yockman, my father and the founder of Edgewater. These areas of focus have been the recipe for building Edgewater what it is today, and I am confident it will fuel Edgewater’s success in the future.

What is your best career advice for those who want to follow in your footsteps?

Try to find something you have a passion for and love to do (we spend most of our waking hours working so why not enjoy it), dream big, set lofty goals, develop and execute a plan (start your plan with the end in mind), don’t be afraid to fail (failure allows you to learn, experience and improve), hire or surround yourself with people smarter than you (I call this the A-team), maintain a healthy work-life balance (if you’re not healthy and not having fun what’s the point), and most importantly, find a way to give back to your community.

Fun Fact: What is something about you that most people do not know about?

I love to dance! I was even recognized as the Executive with Best Dance Moves at the 2023 Admin Awards Gala. I’m also a huge Lady Gaga fan! Anyone have concert tickets?
