• Robert Smalls Monument (Pass By) :  Robert Smalls was a slave born in Beaufort who made a daring escape with the steamship The Planter .

• USCB Center for the Arts (Pass By): The Center for the Arts was used in two movies filmed here, Forrest Gump (the Gump Medical Center), and Something to Talk About .
• NeverMore Books (Pass By): Now a bookstore, this building was used in Something to Talk About.
• St. Helena’s Anglican Church (Pass By): Built as a Church of England, started in 1712.
• John Mark Verdier House (Pass By): Pass by the John Mark Verdier House, built in 1804. French General Marquis de Lafayette gave his farewell to America speech from the top floor balcony here in 1825.
• The Chocolate Tree (Pass By): The box of chocolates Forrest Gump had on the park bench in Savannah had Chocolate Tree chocolate inside. Stop by here for a free chocolate Sand Dollar.
• Reconstruction Era National Monument (Pass By): Enter inside after the tour to learn more about Reconstruction and why Beaufort was the ideal location for studying the Reconstruction Era.

If you park at 1006 Bay Street, which is the Beaufort Downtown Marina, walk towards the boats on the water and look to the left and you will see the benches. One of the benches says "here are my plans for Saturday."

We have been on four walking tours but had a guest who could not walk well, so we chose this tour as al alternative. Excellent in every way! The only advice I could give to the contrary is that that back seats ( which face backwards) will have exhaust smell which might be uncomfortable for some as it was for my husband. I was on the last tour of the day and the duration of the tour was to be one hour. However Lawrence spent an extra half hour with us showing us around Beaufort. Unfortunately I could only hear less than half of what he was saying because the gas powered golf cart was very loud and noisy and the audio system was not reliable.
