There’s a total of 13 dates on the itinerary, with the run set to kick off at Seattle’s Club SUR on Thursday, October 20. The Ukrainian act chase it up with back-to-back shows in San Francisco, Denver and LA before rolling on to Dallas, Houston, Philadelphia and New York.

The US dates will wrap up over the first week of November, with shows locked in for Washington DC, Miami and Chicago before the tour ends in Canada with Montreal and Toronto gigs.

Tickets for all of the dates – a full list of which can be found below – are on sale now via Bomond . A portion of the funds raised from sales will be donated to Ukrainian relief efforts via the charities Gate To Ukraine and Help Heroes Of Ukraine .

May saw Kalush Orchestra win the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin with their song ‘Stefania’ . The six-piece band raised $900,000 (£739,000) for Ukrainian relief by auctioning off their winners’ trophy .

A further $370,000 (£301,000) was also raised by raffling off the pink bucket hat that member frontman Oleh Psiuk wore during the group’s victorious performance.

Last month the band made their UK debut with a performance at Glastonbury 2022 . Their 13-song set included two renditions of ‘Stefania’, as well as a dozen other songs that, according to the band’s team, were written in the space of just 10 days.

NME spoke to bandmember Psiuk ahead of Kalush Orchestra’s Glastonbury set. Asked about the prospect of Eurovision 2023 being moved away from Ukraine due to the war with Russia , he said: “It’s a pity that Eurovision might not be in Ukraine, but there’s a lot discussion right now and everybody hopes that Eurovision will be in Ukraine.”

Kalush Orchestra

Kalush Orchestra , the Ukrainian act that captured the world’s attention last year when it won the Eurovision Song Contest as its country was being torn apart by war, wraps up a second North American tour on March 16 with a performance at SXSW in Austin.

The seven-member group’s song “Stefania” won Eurovision in Turin, Italy, with a record-setting 438 points from the public, reflecting the widespread pro- Ukraine sentiment at least year’s event three months after Russia launched its unprovoked invasion.

With Their Country Under Siege, Ukrainian Dance Music Duo Tvorchi Prepare For Eurovision

Trending on billboard.

The current five-city U.S. jog cements the group as one of the few Eurovision winners to turn a victory at the pan-European competition into global success, following in the footsteps of ABBA , which won with “Waterloo” in 1974, and Måneskin , which triumphed with “Zitti e Buoni” in 2021. (Kalush Orchestra was formed in 2021 as a side project from rap group Kalush , founded in 2019; it features rap blended with folk motifs, and the same founding members as Kalush plus four additional members.)

Billboard talked to the Kalush Orchestra’s founder and leader, rapper Oleh Psiuk, via Zoom about returning to the U.S., the impact of Eurovision on the band’s career and the ongoing war with Russia, which is now in its second year.

BB: Who came up with the idea for this new tour?

First, we were invited to the big showcase festival SXSW in Austin. We considered it to be a very cool opportunity, so we decided we should show our creativity, our works and of course we decided that then we could visit several cities which we’ve never been to in the U.S. before. That’s how our new tour was born, even though the previous one was just five months ago.

What was that first tour like and what would you like to see this time?

What performers from the West Coast are your favorites?

I love the performers from the so-called Golden Era. Like N.W.A , Tupac Shakur , Snoop Dogg , Ice Cube and Dr. Dre . I listen to lots of music from the West Coast.

A Year Later, Ukrainian Musicians Are Navigating Wartime Lives

Last time you met Arnold Schwarzenegger, and he appeared in your video for ‘Generous Evening’ and spoke in Ukrainian. Are there any plans this time to meet any celebrities or government figures?

We don’t have any plans now, but honestly speaking we didn’t have any plans then as well. We wrote to Arnold that very day when we met and that was a lucky coincidence. So we do hope that this time we’ll also have such a day when we write to someone famous and we’ll have an opportunity to meet.

In the U.S., Eurovision is not that well known, though the Will Ferrell film ( Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga ) has helped increase awareness. How did American audiences find you on your first tour?

The bigger part of our audience was still Ukrainians who are living in the U.S. But there were other people who were coming to our concerts. The people who knew Eurovision, what it is, or people who just saw some announcement or billboard in the city and they decided to see us. They were just curious to get to know who we are, but after the concert, all kinds of people came up to us because they really loved it.

What are the main goals you want to accomplish for both the band and Ukraine?

What does the money you raise support?

We send this money to some of the well-known foundations like United24 and the Sergey Prytula Foundation. And we buy armored vests and helmets and other important things for our war servicemen and military.

How do you feel when you’re out of your country? Does the trauma of the war continue?

Honestly speaking, it does not affect me. It does not influence me whether I’m in Ukraine or not, because there are lots of relatives and my parents and close friends, my good acquaintances who are now in Ukraine and I would say that I worry for them more than for myself. Because I don’t worry about myself that much. Obviously, I carry this burden with me everywhere and this kind of anxiety for them.

Let’s talk about what American audiences can expect on this current tour. Will you play new songs?

Yes. We have prepared a program which includes some of the new songs and some of the ones which have just been issued. For instance, we just issued a very new song which has the title “Changes.” It’s a very cool song with a cool video, which reflects all the changes which we are waiting for.  We have a program which unites something authentic with some new styles.

Will an album be coming out soon?

So far, we plan to release singles. If we speak about the album coming out, it is planned closer to the end of the current year or maybe in the beginning of the next year. So far, we are issuing singles with cool videos in English.

Russia Blocks SoundCloud Over ‘False’ Content About Its Ukraine Invasion

It’s been not quite a year since you won Eurovision. How has your life changed, and the career trajectory of the band changed since?

That must have been an important reason for participating in Eurovision in the first place.

Yes, there were many reasons. Not only this one, but it was so important for us to win at this Eurovision, because victory is so important for Ukraine in every aspect. We made lots of people happy with this victory and we do hope it will go on like this.

Ukraine first won Eurovision in 2004 when Ruslana triumphed with “Wild Dances.” Where were you that year when she won? What did her victory mean to you and Ukraine?

I was only 10 years old then, so I don’t remember that much. But I do remember that it was a big noise, a big event in Ukraine. It had a huge resonance as an event. It was because Eurovision for Ukraine was always a very important competition.

What is next for the band after the American tour? Will there be any more touring in other countries?

Sure. We would like to get to as many of various festivals as possible to show our music and culture to the maximum. We would like to have as productive a year as the previous one was, to raise as much money and to disseminate information about us, about Ukraine.

Concerts in North America supporting Ukraine have already become tradition for Kalush Orchestra. After their enchanting victory at Eurovision 2022, the group toured American cities twice. In the fall of 2022, they played 18 concerts in just three weeks.

For the second time, Kalush Orchestra visited the US for a new concert tour and a performance at one of the largest and most prestigious American festivals — SXSW in Austin, Texas. It was in Austin that the band met Armani White, the popular American rapper and performer of the hit song “Billie Eilish”. And also in April 2023, Kalush Orchestra presented a feat with Canadian rapper bbno$ called Ushme Uturbe.

In 2022, the band raised an incredible 60 million hryvnias ($1.6 million) to help Ukraine. Calculations for 2023 are still underway.

Tickets for the new tour in November are available here .

Tours, breakdancing, Arnold Schwarzenegger: What Ukraine's Kalush Orchestra has been up to since Eurovision 2022

Six men standing in black shirts, one wearing a pink hat, another with tattoo sleeves on his arms and colourful mask on face

It's been a year since the Ukrainian folk-rap group Kalush Orchestra won the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest in Turin, Italy, last May.

The group took out the competition with the song Stefania, an alternative hip hop and folk song sung in Ukrainian.

It was the first rap song — and the first song sung entirely in Ukrainian — to win the competition.

So, what did winning Eurovision mean to the group and what have they been up to since?

Stefania has charted in 22 music markets

Following its outing on the Eurovision stage, Stefania topped the charts in Ukraine and Lithuania and reached the top 10 in a number of other countries, such as Finland and Sweden.

The song, dedicated to Stefania — the mother of Kalush Orchestra frontman Oleh Psiuk — has become a popular wartime soundtrack on social media since the Russian invasion of Ukraine .

A man in a colourful outfit, hands raised in front of a crowd

Kalush Orchestra has performed 200 concerts in different countries since Eurovision, visiting France, Great Britain, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Georgia, Hungary, Ireland, Sweden, Israel, the United States and Canada.

"We have not been to Australia yet," Psiuk said.

"But we would be happy to visit, if you invite us."

Their concert tour of Europe last year netted 60 million Ukrainian Hryvnia ($2.4 million), which the band donated to Ukraine's war efforts.

Psiuk said the band intended to continue collecting funds to help the Ukrainian armed forces, while also raising money for the restoration of cultural buildings that have been decimated by the conflict.

"We also have a tradition at every concert to sell guitars at auction," Psiuk said.

"We immediately send all proceeds to one of the Ukrainian funds to help the military or hospitals or children.

"For example, during our last year's concert in London, we managed to collect $11,000 ($16,000) from a guitar.

"We immediately sent these funds to help Ukraine".

Hold on a minute. But who is Kalush Orchestra?

Kalush Orchestra was created in 2021 as a spin-off of the first project Kalush, founded in 2019.

The name Kalush stems from the hometown of the founder and frontman 28-year-old Ukrainian rapper, Oleh Psiuk.

They're a band of seven including the sound engineer.

The other members are Tymofii Muzychuk, Vitalii Duzhyk, Andriy Gandziuk, KilimMan, Sasha Kondratiuk, and Sasha Tab.

Six men, two with instruments, all wearing black and holding various poses

Kalush Orchestra is part of the Ukrainian-language hip-hop scene. The key point of difference between them and other bands in Ukraine is the combination of ethnic music elements with modern sound production, hip-hop dances and Ukrainian-language rap.

"The essence is that we take the old Ukrainian folklore that has been forgotten," Psiuk said.

"We dig it out from many generations and add modern, contemporary elements, rap and instruments.

"In the end, we have a combination of what our ancestors had and what the young people like today.

"And those are our songs."

All Kalush Orchestra band members have prior experience on Ukrainian TV shows such as The Voice and Ukraine's Got Talent.

Kalush Orchestra have released a number of songs over the past year, including In The Shadows with the Finnish band The Rasmus and Generous Evening.

They shot the music video for Generous Evening in the United States, and it features veteran actor and former governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Kalush Orchestra have performed at Glastonbury and were also guest stars at the 2022 MTV Europe Music Awards.

In March, the band returned to the United States for a new concert tour and performed at SXSW (South by Southwest) in Austin, Texas.

It was there that the Ukrainian musicians met American rapper Armani White, who released the hit song Billie Eilish. The meeting led to a breakdancing session with the band to that song.

Last month, Kalush Orchestra shared a new song, Ushme Uturbe, which sees the Ukrainian band team up with Canadian rapper bbno$, who they also met in Austin.

How has the war in Ukraine affected the group?

In the first days of the war, Psiuk founded the volunteer organisation Where Are You? to help displaced people find shelter and medicine.

The band is also working actively to spread Ukrainian music and language abroad.

"Each of our songs in one way or another tells about what is happening in our country," Psiuk said.

"For example, our song Changes — which we presented not so long ago and the music video for it — tells about a house that has changed forever because it was overtaken by the disaster of war.

"In the clip, we specifically showed the realities of today: rockets hovering over our house."

"When we are abroad on a concert tour, we try to call our parents, friends and loved ones as often as possible.

"We worry about them every minute, because they are all in Ukraine. We are afraid for them, because you don't know where a Russian missile will fly at any moment."

The band is grateful to the international community.

"We thank all countries for their incredible support of Ukraine and Ukrainians," Psiuk said.

"We ask you not to forget that there is a war in the centre of Europe, which was unleashed by Russia, and we need to stop it as soon as possible."

Will Kalush Orchestra participate in Eurovision this year?

This year, the United Kingdom will host the competition on Ukraine's behalf, due to the conflict. The theme is United by Music.

It will be the ninth time the UK hosts Eurovision and the fifth time it has hosted for other countries who have not been able to host.

Russia was expelled from the competition last year due to its invasion of Ukraine.

This year's Ukrainian entry is electronic duo Tvorchi with their song Heart of Steel.

Kalush Orchestra has already performed a concert at the Eurovision Village in Liverpool in the lead-up and will headline the Eurovision 2023 final.

Kalush Orchestra will tour Europe to raise funds for Ukraine

From CNN's Katharina Krebs in London

Oleg Psiuk, center, the frontman of Ukraine's Kalush Orchestra, the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, speaks to the press at a news conference in Lviv, Ukraine, on May 17.

The Ukrainian winners of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 have said they will tour Europe to raise funds for the needs of the army and charitable foundations of Ukraine.

The band Kalush Orchestra won Saturday's contest, surfing a wave of goodwill from European nations to clinch the country's third Eurovision win .

Frontman Oleg Psyuk said during a press conference at the Lviv Media Center Ukraine on Tuesday: "We are going to tour Europe to raise funds for Ukraine and the Armed Forces. We will soon announce on our Instagram page the city where we will perform."

According to Psyuk, the band members plan to popularize Ukrainian language in music and want to promote the country's culture.

He added that the band is going to put the statuette of the Eurovision winner up for auction, and donate the proceeds to support the army.

Finland "must apply" for NATO membership, foreign affairs committee says

From CNN's James Frater and Benjamin Brown in London

Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin (3rd L) speaks during a plenary session at the Finnish parliament in Helsinki, Finland, on May 16, as legislators debate Finland's Nato membership.

Finland "must apply for membership of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization to strengthen its security," the country's parliamentary foreign affairs committee has said.

The committee's recommendation marks the completion of another legislative step required for Finland to formally seek NATO membership.

It added that a "failure to respond would lead to a narrowing of Finland's foreign, security and defence policy."

NATO presents the "strongest possible additional protection" for Finnish security, the committee said.

The committee's stance signals their agreement with the Finnish government’s intention for Finland to join NATO.

Some background: Last week, Finnish President Sauli Niinisto and Prime Minister Sanna Marin announced their intentions to join NATO.

Marin formally presented that desire at a press conference on Sunday, ditching decades  of neutrality and ignoring Russian threats of possible retaliation as the Nordic country attempts to strengthen its security amid the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Finland’s accession to NATO would bring the US-led military alliance up to Finland's 830-mile border with Russia, but could take months to finalize as the legislatures of all 30 current NATO members must approve new applicants.

The Swedish government has also signaled that it wants to apply for NATO membership.

NATO has what it calls an "open door policy" on new members -- any European country can request to join, so long as they meet certain criteria and all existing members agree.

European Council "strongly supports" application of Sweden and Finland to NATO

From CNN's Alex Stambaugh

The European Council "strongly supports" the application of Sweden and Finland to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the bloc's chief diplomat Josep Borrell reiterated Tuesday.

"They will receive a strong support I'm sure from all member states because it increases our unity and it makes us stronger," Borrell told reporters ahead of a European Council meeting on defense in Brussels, adding that he "hopes" NATO will be able overcome Turkey's objections.

Turkey, which has presented itself as a mediator between Russia and Ukraine, has expressed reservations about integrating Sweden and Finland into the alliance.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan attends a news conference at the Presidential Complex in Ankara, Turkey, on May 16.

Some background: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Monday that he would not approve  Sweden and Finland’s NATO membership  if they sanction Turkey.

It follows comments by Erdogan last week that he was not looking "positively" at the prospect of the two Nordic countries joining NATO, accusing both Sweden and Finland of housing Kurdish "terrorist organizations."

Railway infrastructure damaged as Russian missiles target western Ukraine, say regional officials

From CNN's Andrew Carey, Tim Lister, Roman Tymotsko, Taras Zadorozhnyy and Sofiya Harbuziuk in Lviv

Russian missiles targeted western Ukraine overnight damaging railway infrastructure close to the border with Poland, according to the head of the Lviv regional military administration.

Maksym Kozytskyi said the location hit was near the town of Yavoriv, which is also home to a large military base. He said there were no reports of casualties.

Air defense systems shot down three missiles, he added.

City mayor Andriy Sadovyi said that no sites in the city of Lviv itself had been struck.

On Twitter, Sadovyi said there had been two missile salvos on the region overnight. Air defenses had worked well, Sadovyi said, adding that it was not clear if the city itself had been a target.

A series of explosions were heard in central Lviv around 00:45 local time (5:45 p.m. ET), shortly after air raid sirens had sounded in the city. A member of CNN’s team in the city saw air defenses lighting up to the northwest -- in the direction of Yavoriv about 25 miles away.

Yavoriv has been struck at least three times since the start of the war. In the first attack, on the military base there, on March 13, more than 30 people were killed.

Sites in Lviv have also been hit by Russian missiles strikes in recent weeks, including an aircraft parts plant, a fuel depot and several electrical substations.

Sweden signs application for NATO membership

From CNN's Per Bergfors Nyberg

Swedish Minister of Foreign Affairs Ann Linde signs Sweden's application for NATO membership at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Stockholm on May 17.

Sweden's Foreign Minister Ann Linde on Tuesday morning signed an application declaring the country wants to join NATO.

The move marks a formal step by Stockholm toward joining the US-led military alliance — ending decades of military neutrality — as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine sparks a dramatic evolution in European security and geopolitics.

"It feels very big, very serious, and it feels like we have arrived at a conclusion which is the best for Sweden," Linde said. "We don’t know how long it will take, but we calculate that it could take up to a year. “Now this week, this application will be submitted, together with Finland, in a day or so, and then it will be processed by NATO.”

Some context: Sweden's Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson said Monday that the country should join NATO together with neighboring Finland to "ensure the safety of Swedish people."

Russian President Vladimir Putin said the entry of the two Nordic countries into NATO will not create a threat to Russia, but military expansion into the territory will "certainly cause our response."

Kharkiv official says Ukrainian forces are advancing in the northeast

From CNN's Tim Lister in Lviv

Ukrainian service personnel ride on top of an armoured vehicle amid Russia's attack on Ukraine, in Kharkiv, Ukraine, on May 16.

Ukrainian soldiers are advancing to the north and northeast of Kharkiv, according to the head of the northeastern city's regional military administration, as a weeks-long counter-attack gathers pace.

Oleh Syniehubov told Ukrainian television Tuesday that fighting was underway northeast of Ukraine's second-largest city, toward the town of Vovchansk, along the Russia-Ukraine border.

The town has become a resupply route for Russian forces as they try to sustain their offensive into the Donetsk and Luhansk regions further south. Disrupting that supply line could compromise the Russians' ability to reinforce their offensive towards Sloviansk and Kramatorsk.

"Active hostilities are taking place in settlements north of the region," Syniehubov said. "The enemy is focused on holding positions. Our troops have to repel (them on) every inch of our territory."

Syniebuhov added that Ukrainian advances had helped reduce — but not eliminate — Russian artillery attacks on Kharkiv. There had been "relative silence for the last two weeks," Syniebuhov said. "However, the enemy sometimes hits with artillery strikes."

There were strikes in the Saltivka and Shevchenkivskyi districts close to Kharkiv on Monday, Syniebuhov added.

Syniebuhov said Russian shelling of other parts of the Kharkiv region continued.

Ukraine says many casualties in Russian missile strikes north of Kyiv, but attacks in east repulsed

Ukrainian authorities said Tuesday there had been heavy casualties in Russian missile strikes far from the front lines, but on the ground Russian efforts to advance were being repulsed.

In the Chernihiv region north of Kyiv,  Vyacheslav Chaus, head of the military administration, said the Russians "fired missiles at the village of Desna this morning. There are dead and many wounded."

It's unclear what the target was. Chaus gave no further details. Desna is some 40 miles (about 64 kilometers) from the border with Belarus.

Russian missile and artillery strikes have increased in several border areas recently as a Ukrainian counteroffensive in the northeast gathers momentum.

In the northeastern Sumy region, the General Staff of the Ukrainian military said Tuesday that Russia had fired artillery across the border.

Dmytro Zhyvytskyy, head of the Sumy region military administration, said Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups had tried to cross the border. "There was a very serious battle. Mortars, grenade launchers, small arms were used," he said.

Russian officials also reported exchanges in the area. Roman Starovoit, governor of Russia's Kursk region, said that at dawn Tuesday, large-caliber weapons were fired at a border village and several houses were damaged. He said there were no casualties and Ukrainian border guards had fired back.

Along the front lines in Luhansk and Donetsk, Ukraine reports continuing efforts by Russian forces to advance in several areas but all claims were repelled. The General Staff said in the heavily contested area around Severodonetsk, the Russians had attacked the town of Syrotne but "suffered losses during the fighting and withdrew its forces."

But artillery fire and airstrikes continued.

The head of the Luhansk military administration, Serhii Hayday, said the Russians hit two hospital buildings and a production facility in Severodonetsk and there were also airstrikes in the Popasna area. Altogether, he said, 10 civilians were killed in the latest shelling.

The main hospital in Severodonetsk had been hit again, Hayday said, while airstrikes in villages further west had destroyed several homes. Video from the area shows large craters among heavily damaged houses.

Russian casualties: Vadym Denysenko, an adviser at the Ukrainian Interior Ministry, told Ukrainian television Tuesday that "enemy losses are numerous."

"The main events are now around Severodonetsk. The enemy is trying to make an operational encirclement," he said.

He also said overnight missile strikes in the far west of Ukraine had struck a district near Lviv, but provided no further details.

It's 7 a.m. in Kyiv. Here's what you need to know

Buses carrying Ukrainian service members from the  Azovstal steel mill drive away under escort of the pro-Russian military in Mariupol, on Monday.

After nearly three months under relentless attack from Russia, Ukrainian forces have completed their "combat mission" in the besieged city of Mariupol, according to a statement by the country’s military.

Here's the latest:

  • Mariupol on the brink: Commanders of Ukrainian units stationed in Mariupol's massive Azovstal steelworks plant have been ordered “to save the lives of their personnel,” according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as they announced the end of their "combat mission" in the besieged southern city. Hundreds of people were evacuated on Monday from the steel plant, the final holdout in a city that had become a symbol of Ukrainian resistance.
  • Missile attack in western Ukraine: A Ukrainian military base about 15 kilometers (9 miles) from the border with Poland was targeted in a Russian missile attack early Tuesday morning, according to Maksym Kozytsky, head of the Lviv regional military administration. He gave no further details in a late-night Telegram post.
  • Putin responds to Nordic nations' NATO moves: The Russian President said the entry of Sweden and Finland into the US-led alliance will not create a threat to Russia, but military expansion into the territory will "certainly cause our response." The Swedish government said on its website that it has decided to apply for NATO membership, following a similar declaration from Finland on Sunday.
  • But Turkey may block their bids: Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Monday that he would not approve Sweden and Finland’s NATO membership if they sanction Ankara. It follows comments by Erdogan last week that he was not looking "positively" at the prospect of the two Nordic countries joining NATO, accusing both Sweden and Finland of housing Kurdish "terrorist organizations."
  • Russian oil ban and sanctions : European Union leaders were unsuccessful in reaching unanimity on banning Russian oil during a meeting of the bloc’s foreign ministers, Josep Borrell, EU high representative for foreign affairs and security policy, said Monday. Borrell said “unhappily” it was not possible to reach an agreement on a sixth sanctions package against Moscow.
  • Economic hit: Russia’s invasion of Ukraine will cause European growth to slow and inflation to rise at a faster than expected rate, according to the latest EU Commission economic forecasts. It said the war has caused commodity prices to rise, disrupted supply chains and increased uncertainty.

Russian missiles target military base in Western Ukraine, official says

A Ukrainian military base about 15 kilometers (9 miles) from the border with Poland was targeted in a Russian missile attack early Tuesday morning, according to information from Maksym Kozytsky, the head of the Lviv regional military administration.

Kozytsky gave no further details in a late-night Telegram post, saying only that further information would be released in the morning.

A series of explosions were heard in central Lviv around 12:45 a.m. local time (5:45 p.m. ET), shortly after air raid sirens had sounded in the city. A member of CNN’s team in the city saw air defenses lighting up to the northwest — in the direction of the Yavoriv military facility about 40 kilometers away.

In his first Telegram statement shortly after the all-clear sounded at 1:15 a.m. local time (6:15 p.m. ET), Kozytsky said only that air defense systems had responded to the attack. Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi, in a post on his Facebook page, said he could not confirm any information about possible missile strikes in Lviv itself.

Yavoriv has been targeted at least three times since the start of the war. In the first attack on March 13, more than 30 people were killed.

Sites in Lviv have also been hit in Russian missiles strikes, including an aircraft parts plant, a fuel depot and several electrical substations.

Billy Horschel wins PGA Tour event amid historic finish, but there’s a catch

Billy Horschel won the Corales Puntacana Championship in the Dominican Republic, his first PGA Tour win since 2022.

Share All sharing options for: Billy Horschel wins PGA Tour event amid historic finish, but there’s a catch

Corales Puntacana Championship - Final Round

Eleven months ago, after the first round of the Memorial Tournament, Billy Horschel stood in front of the media and fought back tears as he talked about his lack of confidence.

He had just fired a 12-over 84, which served as a metaphor for his struggles throughout the 2023 season. Horschel missed 10 cuts a year ago, which led to him missing out on the FedEx Cup Playoffs .

As such, Horschel did not meet the qualification requirements to play in this week’s RBC Heritage —the fifth Signature Event of the 2024 season . But he still wanted to play, knowing that his game was trending in the right direction.

So, he teed it up at the Corales Puntacana Championship in the Dominican Republic, an opposite full-field event.

The decision paid off.

Corales Puntacana Championship

Horschel began the final round three strokes behind Wesley Bryan, but he stormed past him and all the others to win by two. The former Florida Gator signed for a 9-under 63, which tied the course record, to win for the first time on the PGA Tour since the 2022 Memorial.

“This game of golf is so fickle. I think you can put a lot into it and get everything you want out of it,” Horschel said after his win on Sunday.

“But I knew in my 14 years, 13 years previously on the PGA Tour, that I had the ability, I had the talent. I just needed to continue to work hard, do the right things, and continue to believe that good stuff was going to come to the forefront at some point in time.”

Even though his victory did not come against the likes of Scottie Scheffler , Wyndham Clark , Rory McIlroy, or any other elite PGA Tour players, Horschel still holds this win—and other opposite field events—in high regard.

“The PGA Tour has a lot of tournaments, and it’s tough for every tournament to get its due. Opposite-field events have been crucial for many players coming up the ranks,” Horschel explained.

“Look at Tony Finau, Viktor Hovland winning in Puerto Rico, Matt Wallace won this. So listen, it’s another opportunity to play, it’s another opportunity to become a better player, to get that win on the PGA Tour. These events are crucial to the PGA Tour in the sense of the growth of the development of the players on the PGA Tour.”

Horschel’s victory in the Dominican Republic vaults him from 76th to 45th in the FedEx Cup rankings. The top 70 players earn entry into the FedEx Cup Playoffs, so yes, this win carries significant weight.

But Horschel would not have been able to finish the job without his strong psyche and ability to handle pressure down the stretch.

“I don’t like talking about myself but growing up, I always wanted the ball when I was a pitcher; I always wanted to be the guy at battle trying to drive in the winning run; I always wanted to have it on me,” Horschel explained.

“I think growing up and having that mentality, I have grown into Ioving being in the lead. I love having that spotlight on me; I love having everything on me, knowing that if I mess up, it’s my fault, and I am the one who can control my destiny. I’ve always been really good up near the lead, and today, I showed that a little bit.”

Horschel made five birdies on the front nine to soar toward the top of the leaderboard at the midway point of his round. True to himself, he did not fold down the stretch, but rather, he thrived. His eagle at the par-5 12th gave him a two-shot lead with six holes to play, and he never relinquished it.

She continued, “Five days a week I undergo athletic, physical and vocal therapy. I work on my toes, my knees, my calves, my fingers, my singing, my voice… I have to learn to live with it now and stop questioning myself. At the beginning I would ask myself: why me? How did this happen? What have I done? Is this my fault?”

Dion says she doesn’t have the answers as to why she got this illness and she only has two options, “Either I train like an athlete and work super hard, or I switch off and it’s over, I stay at home, listen to my songs, stand in front of my mirror and sing to myself. I’ve chosen to work with all my body and soul, from head to toe, with a medical team. I want to be the best I can be. My goal is to see the Eiffel Tower again!”

The “My Heart Will Go On” singer says that it’s her family, children, and fans that keep her strong and is grateful she has the means to have good doctors and treatments, adding, “I have this strength within me. I know that nothing is going to stop me.”

Since being diagnosed with SPS, Dion has been largely kept out of the public eye. In February of this year, she made a surprise appearance at the Grammys and presented an award to Taylor Swift .

When asked about getting back on stage and touring again, Dion said, “I can’t answer that… Because for four years I’ve been saying to myself that I’m not going back, that I’m ready, that I’m not ready… As things stand, I can’t stand here and say to you: ‘Yes, in four months’ [I will return]. I don’t know… My body will tell me.”

Harry potter tour revenue surges past $1 billion.

The Harry Potter tour in Leavesden is a big money spinner for Warner Bros.

Britain's Harry Potter movie tour has generated more than $1 billion of revenue since it opened 12 years ago according to its latest financial statements which show that sales doubled to a record $184.4 million (£149.1 million) in 2022 as the end of pandemic restrictions cast a powerful spell on the attraction.

The tour is set inside two cream-coloured cavernous soundstages at Leavesden Studios on the outskirts of London. Owned by media giant Warner Bros. Discovery WBD , Leavesden was originally an aircraft factory before it was converted into a movie studio in 1994 so that James Bond flick GoldenEye could film there.

Warner bought Leavesden in 2010 making it the first studio to have a permanent European base since Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in the 1940s. Leavesden re-opened in 2012 after Warner invested more than $123.7 million (£100 million) in the site. Since then it has been home to well over 50 productions including all eight Potter films, the three Fantastic Beasts spin-offs and last year's highest-grossing movie, Barbie .

The studio generates 39.7% of Leavesden's total revenue which rose by $87.5 million (£70.7 million) to a record $305.8 million (£247.2 million) in the year to 31 December 2022 as we revealed in Britain's Sunday Times newspaper. The increase was entirely driven by the tour as studio revenue dipped 2.9% to $121.3 million (£98.1 million).

Revenue is increasing at Warner Bros' Leavesden studios

The Best Romantic Comedy Of The Last Year Just Hit Netflix

Apple iphone 16 unique all new design promised in new report, rudy giuliani and mark meadows indicted in arizona fake electors case.

Over the past few years soaring inflation and the cost of living crisis has caused consumers to cut streaming subscriptions leading to studios scaling back the number of shows in production.

It didn't stop there as Leavesden faced the challenge of strikes in Hollywood when actors and writers downed their tools for more than six months last year in a bid to boost the royalties they receive. Warner is still counting the cost of this and on February 23 announced that revenue for the fourth quarter of 2023 was down 7% to $10.2 billion partly driven by strike-induced production delays. On the day of the announcement its shares closed 10% down at $8.61, almost the lowest price since the group was created by the merger of AT&T’s T WarnerMedia and Discovery Inc in April 2022.

The impact is being felt far beyond the studios as special effects firm Framestore, which created the spellbinding visuals in the Potter movies, said it expects margins "to be impacted" by the strikes in 2023.

In contrast, the tour behind the scenes of the Potter movies has been a dream ticket for Warner. Leavesden's net profit more than doubled last year to $87.8 million (£71 million) which was largely driven by the tour given that the studio's revenue reversed. Since 2012 Leavesden has generated total net profits of $589.6 million (£476.7 million) and paid $289.4 million (£234 million) of dividends to Warner.

Since it opened 12 years ago more than 18 million people have streamed through the tour's turnstiles generating a total of $1.2 billion (£935.8 million) of revenue – 67.5% more than the studio has made.

The tour is filled with props and sets from the movies with the latest addition being Professor Sprout's Greenhouse which opened in summer 2022. From the outside, the giant greenhouse appears to be in the grip of a giant vine which covers the walls inside. Its tendrils spread into flower boxes where plants seem to sprout from them. Visitors can uproot them to reveal a squealing shrub as Harry and his chums did in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets .

As we recently revealed , the tour has been so successful that Warner has invested more than $115 million in its first overseas outpost which opened in Tokyo last year and is 50% bigger than its British counterpart.

Leavesden operates the Japanese facility as well as the wildly popular chain of Potter shops and the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child stage show which premiered in London in 2016 to critical acclaim. Since then it has expanded to five other countries and is still growing as the financial statements reveal that "in 2022 the company invested in another production of the stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child ."

Despite the logjam in Hollywood, Leavesden too is expanding. Last year it announced plans to build 11 new sound stages which will increase production capacity by more than 50% and will create 4,000 direct and indirect jobs. It is expanding to stay in the game in the face of increasing competition.

Britain has become a popular location for filming thanks to its generous fiscal benefits which give studios a reimbursement of up to 25.5% of the amount they spend in the country. It explains why Shepperton Studios, just outside London, is planning a 1.2 million square feet expansion which will make it the world's second-biggest studio.

Likewise, nearby Pinewood plans to spend $1.6 billion (£1.3 billion) on new facilities including a studio tour which will put it in even more direct competition with Leavesden. Over the past 80 years Pinewood has been home to everything from the Pink Panther and Paddington to Superman and Star Wars so it may take more than the wave of a magic wand to beat.

2024 Zurich Classic odds, picks, predictions: Golf expert fading Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry at TPC Louisiana

Sia nejad reveals his zurich classic 2024 picks, props, and sleepers for this week's pga tour event at tpc louisiana.

rory-mcilroy-usatsi.jpg

Nick Hardy and Davis Riley look to successfully defend their crown when they compete in the 2024 Zurich Classic, which begins Thursday at TPC Louisiana. After teaming up with different partners in 2022, Hardy and Riley got together for the event last year and took home the title as they set a tournament record with a 30-under par performance to finish two strokes ahead of the Canadian duo of Nick Taylor and Adam Hadwin. It was the second straight top-five finish in the event for Riley, who tied for fourth with Will Zalatoris as his teammate two years ago.

Hardy and Riley are 80-1 longshots to repeat, while 2022 champions Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele are 5-1 favorites in the latest 2024 Zurich Classic odds. Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry are listed at 8-1, Zalatoris and Sahith Theegala are 11-1 and Collin Morikawa and Kurt Kitayama are 16-1. Tom Hoge and Maverick McNealy, along with siblings Matt and Alex Fitzpatrick, round out the top choices at 25-1. Before locking in any 2024 Zurich Classic picks, make sure you see the PGA Tour predictions and best bets from golf betting and fantasy expert Sia Nejad .

Nejad specializes in betting and DFS in golf, among other sports. He's had incredible success in the outright and first-round leader markets, as well as in betting head-to-head matchups. He also has been solid with his head-to-head matchups since last year's Charles Schwab Challenge, going 40-27-3 and returning 9.14 units over that span. That's a $914 profit for $100 bettors since May 2023.

Nejad also nailed 75-1 longshot Wyndham Clark as the outright winner at the Wells Fargo Championship. In 2023, SportsLine debuted The Early Wedge, and in the first three months of the show, he hit two first-round leaders and three outright winners.

Now, Nejad has focused his attention on the 2024 Zurich Classic field and has locked in his best bets, top sleepers and favorites to avoid. See who they are at SportsLine .

Top 2024 Zurich Classic expert picks

One surprise: Nejad is fading the team of Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry, even though they are among the favorites at +800. After recording 13 top-10 finishes, which included two victories and a pair of runner-ups in 18 events last season, McIlroy has posted just one over eight tournaments thus far in 2024. That came earlier this month when the 34-year-old was third at the Valero Texas Open. Since then, McIlroy has reverted back to the dismal form with which he began the year, as he tied for 22nd at the Masters and 33rd at the RBC Heritage last weekend. The No. 2 ranked player in the world was no better than 21st in his first four events before finishing 19th at the Players Championship.

Considering his compatriot's struggles, Lowry could feel more pressure than usual will be thrust upon him. However, the 37-year-old hasn't had much more success this season either, with just two top-10 finishes in eight events. Lowry, who hasn't posted a victory on the PGA Tour since winning the Open Championship in 2019, tied for fourth in the Cognizant Classic in early March and followed with a third-place performance in the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Since then, he has tied for 19th, 43rd and 64th in three outings.

However, Nejad is high on the chances of Will Zalatoris and Sahith Theegala, who are listed at 11-1. Theegala set a career high last season with eight top-10 finishes, the last being his first PGA Tour win at the Fortinet Championship. The 26-year-old has begun this year in strong fashion, recording five top-10s in his first 11 events to match Ludvig Aberg for third-most in 2024. Theegala was runner-up at the Sentry in his season debut and is coming off another runner-up performance at the RBC Heritage last weekend.

Zalatoris did not fare as well in Hilton Head, tying for 44th place, but he has finished in the top 10 in three of his nine outings this season. The 27-year-old's best result of the year came at the Genesis Invitational in February, when he and Luke List were runners-up after finishing three strokes behind Hideki Matsuyama. Zalatoris is eager for a chance at another top-five finish in this tournament after missing last year's edition as he recovered from back surgery.  See which other teams to back at SportsLine .

How to make 2024 Zurich Classic picks

Nejad has locked in his best bets for the 2024 Zurich Classic and is backing several longshot teams, including one that is priced at more than +3000. This team has a member who "may be coming into form" and is a longshot that could surprise.  You can see Nejad's PGA Tour picks only at SportsLine .

So which teams should you target or avoid for the 2024 Zurich Classic, and which team in the   Zurich Classic 2024 field could bring a huge payday at more than +3000?
