Chiefs Tours ~ Worth the time!
I'm not a huge football fan ~~ BUT the Chiefs tour was AMAZING ! Lots of background information and personal touches. We were able to go onto the field, into a high end penthouse, and peek into Mr. Hunt's personal housing on premise. I would recommend it for any age. The day we went we were the only people from Kansas ~ everyone else was from other states ~ made it even more interesting!
Good location with plenty of parking. Right on the interstate so easy to get in and out. Concessions are expensive like every other mlb stadium. No Budweiser products is a disappointment. Food choices are good.
I have watched games played at this stadium since I was a kid, but never saw it in person until today. Lov the unique design and appreciate how Kansas City has upgraded this historic site. The Royals stadium is just next door, so nice to see both grand facilities together in one location. It is a bit of a drive out from the city center and is in a bit of a sketchy area, but worth a visit if you are a sports fan.
We took an organized tour of the stadium. Never been here before. Lots of interesting information particularly about Lamar Hunt, who was quite the visionary. Enjoyed seeing all the Chiefs memorabilia. Don't show up in any Raiders gear!
The home of the KC Chiefs! Great stadium, tons of history. The seats are tight, but who sits down, right?
There is no better way than to enjoy this venue then from the VIP lounge. It's a great looking stadium and everything is top notch!

Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium tour takes you close to the action
timtrudell Kansas City , Missouri 0
Len Dawson. Hank Stram. Lamar Hunt. Their names are there. High above the field at Arrowhead Stadium. They’re part of the Ring of Honor for former Kansas City Chiefs players, coaches and ownership. The Ring of Honor is one of the views visitors get when they take a tour of Arrowhead Stadium.
Two former Nebraska players have their name on the Ring – pro football Hall of Famer Will Shields and All-Pro Neil Smith.
We lucked out in getting to take a tour during the Chiefs’ off-week. Kansas City is fighting hard for a spot at the table come playoff time for The National Football League. But, their stadium is among the best in the 32-team league.
A statue memorializing the late Lamar Hunt stands outside the stadium. If it weren’t for men like Hunt, we may not have the NFL we do today. He, Bud Adams and a few others created the American Football league in the 1960s. The AFL became the only serious challenger to the NFL’s dominance of the game. The AFL was such a threat that the two leagues agreed to merge in 1970. The Chiefs became the last AFL team to win the Super Bowl (Super Bowl IV) before the merger.
Hunt was a brilliant football mind. He helped devise ways to improve the game. He created the name of the Super Bowl. It supposedly came about when one of his children was playing with a “Super Ball.” He also suggested the commissioner name the league title trophy after the late Vince Lombardi, who guided Green bay to the first two championships between the NFL and AFL.
Inside the stadium, fans are treated to impressive views. The field’s views are amazing from several locations. We checked out a few suites and party rooms. Looking at the stands, it doesn’t look like there’s a bad seat in the house.
The suites and party rooms (private or by invitation) were awesome. You can party like it’s 1970 (the Chiefs’ last NFL title).
If spending thousands of dollars a year isn’t in your budget, check out a co-op suite closer to the field. They’re decorated with murals of Chiefs players and coaches, as well as quotes or motivational words.
The tour offers a look at Game Day for the players. You can visit the locker room. Alex Smith (starting quarterback) has his locker decorated for our visit. The equipment inside isn’t his. It was put there for our tour. Who cares? His gear would be stored similarly.
People flocked to their favorite player’s locker for photo opportunities. I went with Erik Fisher, a lineman. That’s what I was when I played.
The locker room is impressive. As soon as you walk in, you know you’re in Chiefs’ territory.
The tunnel to the field has large photos of Chiefs’ history. Hank Stram and the team celebrating back in the day. Former Husker Will Shields setting up to block for his QB. Shields was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this year.
I’m not sure many teams do better than the Chiefs’ Hall of Honor. It recognizes the history of the American Football League, the Chiefs and the National Football League.
The AFL history is highlighted with old gear, including the then-Boston Patriots (now known as New England). I always thought they had one of the best logos ever with the Patriot ready to snap the football.
The Denver Broncos classic horse jumping out of the D on the helmet was great, too.
We had a great time touring Arrowhead Stadium. And, by the way, their stadium is indeed loud. We had 25 people on our tour. We stood on the Chiefs’ sideline at the 50-yard marker and yelled “Chiefs.” The echo was deafening then. I can only imagine how loud Game Day truly is. We will have to find out one season and check out an actual game there.
The Kansas City Chiefs offer an impressive tour. We recommend checking it out or taking your football fan there.

Arrowhead Stadium
- Facilities 3.0
- Atmosphere 2.5
Arrowhead Stadium has been the home of the Kansas City Chiefs professional football team since it opened in 1972. It is adjacent to Kauffman Stadium , where the Kansas City Royals professional baseball team plays. (In fact, there is even a private underground service tunnel between the two.)
Football fans can tour the roughly 80,000-seat Arrowhead Stadium in a number of ways. Public, guided tours last 90 minutes and take visitors through the press box, the CommunityAmerica Club Level, the locker room, the field and the Chiefs Hall of Honor Presented by Spectrum. Public tours are offered on Fridays at 2 or 4 p.m. and on Saturdays at 11 a.m. or 1 p.m., and tickets cost $30 for adults and $25 for kids. If you’re looking for a more exclusive experience, consider a private guided tour (which visits the same areas of the stadium, but in a one-on-one setting) or a game day tour, which includes a 60-minute walk through the press box and the Chiefs Hall of Honor Presented by Spectrum, followed by 20 minutes on the sidelines of the field during the pregame activities. To schedule a tour, visit the Chiefs website .
Whether they took a tour or simply attended a Kansas City Chiefs game, recent visitors of the stadium gave it mostly high praise. Some noted that children were especially thrilled to see behind-the-scenes areas of the stadium, but adults said they had a great time as well. If you plan to visit the stadium for a game, past patrons warn it is best to arrive early since parking fills up early and can become chaotic, and traffic getting into the stadium can get heavy. Those watching a game should also note that the stadium accepts only clear handbags and very small clutches, so be sure to take these restrictions into account before you head out.

Home to NFL's Kansas City Chiefs, Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City is the loudest, and perhaps proudest, stadium in the NFL world!
Arrowhead was completed in 1972, this open-air stadium not only hosting AFC's Kansas City Chiefs but also several major musical events each year. The stadium is located right off of I70 next to the Royal's Kauffman Stadium . There is a maximum capacity of right around 76,500 people here, making it the 6th largest stadium in the NFL.
The Kansas City Chiefs were founded in 1960 by Lamar Hunt, and have since seen 3 AFL Championship wins (1962, 1966, 1969), as well as a Superbowl win in 1970 against the Minnesota Vikings (Superbowl IV).

Kansas City Chiefs considering new stadium following failed tax vote
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Kansas City Chiefs are reassessing their options, less than a month after Jackson County voters decided against a 3/8th cent sales tax . The money would have paid for $800 million in renovations and improvements at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
Chiefs Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt said the organization is now reassessing their options for the future.
That could include building a new home for the team.
For the first time since the failed stadium vote, Clark spoke publicly about what the future could hold for the Kansas City Chiefs . One thing fans haven’t heard before is the Chiefs are open to the idea of planning a future separately from the Royals.

“I really think at this point it makes sense for both of us to work independently. There’s currently nothing that to preclude us coming back and doing something together,” Hunt said.
The Chiefs chairman said that while the team hasn’t held any talks with leaders in Kansas about the team moving across the state line, he did say the organization is working to come up with a new plan. That could include a new stadium.
“If we end up back focused on a renovation of Arrowhead, we obviously look at everything we did from a design standpoint the last couple of years to see if it can be enhanced. But we may be in a situation where we may look at a new stadium as well,” Hunt said.
The next few months may become even more interesting for fans as they prepare for a new NFL season. Hunt said time to agree on a plan for the future of the Chiefs is of the essence.

“Time is short for us at this point and so we need to see what other options are out there for us,” Hunt said.
Hunt did say the organization was “definitely disappointed” on the failed tax issue on the April ballot. He did not provide a timeline of when a decision about the Chiefs future could be announced.

NFL News: Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City Chiefs could leave Arrowhead Stadium
Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs should have no distractions trying to win their third consecutive Super Bowl . However, there’s a big problem off the field looming for the franchise.
Almost a month ago, residents of Jackson County went to vote and reject a crucial sales tax measure to fund renovations at Arrowhead Stadium . That proposal also included a new venue for the Royals in MLB .
So, after such a massive decision, the NFL is in total suspense of what’s coming next for the Chiefs. Team’s owner, Clark Hunt , admitted that a change of stadium is a real possibility.
“Arrowhead is a special place for our family and our fan base. That was one of the reasons that we focused on it with the last effort, but going forward it may make more sense for us to be in a new stadium.”
Will the Chiefs leave Kansas City soon?
The Chiefs’ current lease of Arrowhead Stadium expires in 2030 and, although they have received offers to play in cities like Dallas, owner Clark Hunt hasn’t made a final decision yet.
“We will approach it from a broader perspective going forward because time is short for us at this point and so we need to see what other options are out there for us. When we started on this process three years ago, it felt like we had a very long time, a long runway with about nine years left on our lease. We’re now down to six years and so I do feel very much of a sense of urgency.”
According to his latest statement, Hunt will try to build a new stadium in the area, but, if that proposal isn’t achievable, a new city could be in the horizon for the Chiefs.
“Stadium development projects just take a long time and I don’t want to put a specific number on it, but with only six and a half years left on the lease, we’re going to have to work very hard over the next year to see if we can find an option.”

NFL | Kansas City Chiefs owner says leaving Arrowhead Stadium an option after sales tax funding was rejected
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Chiefs plan to explore options that include leaving Arrowhead Stadium after voters in Jackson County, Missouri, soundly rejected a sales tax initiative that would have helped to pay for renovations to the 52-year-old building.
The Chiefs and Royals, whose Kauffman Stadium shares the Truman Sports Complex with the football stadium, have relied on a three-eighths cent sales tax for upkeep. The franchises wanted to extend that tax with the Royals using their share of the money for a new downtown ballpark and the Chiefs envisioning an $800 million renovation of Arrowhead.
More than 58% of voters rejected the sales tax initiative after the campaign was met with criticism from all sides.
“Time is short for us at this point and so we need to see what other options are out there for us,″ Chiefs owner Clark Hunt said Saturday. “When we started on this process three years ago, it felt like we had a very long time — a long runway with about 9 1/2 (years) left on our lease. We’re now down to 6 1/2 and so I do feel very much of a sense of urgency.”
Hunt, whose father Lamar founded the Chiefs and helped to get Kauffman and Arrowhead stadiums built, has always preferred to renovate a stadium that his father called one of his favorite places in the world. The Hunt family had promised to spend $300 million in private funds on the renovation with the remainder coming from public funding.
Now, the Chiefs are left to consider overtures from other locations. One of those could be just across the state line, where public officials in Kansas have made it clear that they would love to have the Chiefs on their side of the border.
“Stadium development projects just take a long time,” Hunt said, “and I don’t want to put a specific number on it, but with only 6 1/2 years left on the lease, we’re going to have to work very hard over the next year, year-and-a-half.”
Whatever direction the Chiefs go next, Hunt indicated they would head that way on their own, rather than be tied together with the Royals. That would give the NFL franchise greater latitude to seek the best financing package for itself, whether that means with a renovation of Arrowhead Stadium in mind or a completely new facility elsewhere.
“There’s certainly nothing to preclude us coming back and doing something together,” Hunt said, “but (Royals owner John Sherman) also feels that sense of urgency and I know he’s eager to try to find a long-term solution, which we are as well.”

Tracking the Chiefs’ 2024 undrafted free agent signings

The Kansas City Chiefs go from the end of the 2024 NFL Draft to immediately looking for
undrafted free agents (UDFAs). They choose from a group of players who were not drafted during the seven rounds of the draft but can now be signed to NFL free-agent contracts.
Check out DraftKings Sportsbook — the official sportsbook partner of SB Nation!
The benefit to going undrafted is that you can choose what teams to consider and negotiate the contract figures more than a draft selection can.
Every team has a 90-man roster to work from in the offseason. The Chiefs’ roster total stood at 74 heading into draft weekend, and the team had six picks on the weekend. In theory, that leaves 11 spots available for these undrafted signees; the Chiefs’ have a roster exemption for offensive lineman Chu Godrick through the International Players Pathway (IPP).
Note that many of these signings are not official until the Chiefs actually announce who they have signed. They tend to do this in a wave early next week. Some of these players will actually be given a chance to try out for the team but may not be given a contract.

Chiefs to look at stadium options beyond Arrowhead

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City Chiefs chairman Clark Hunt said the team would look at options beyond renovating Arrowhead Stadium as it searches for a home beyond the expiration of its lease following the 2030 season.
"We will approach it from a broader perspective going forward because time is short for us at this point and so we need to see what other options are out there for us,'' Hunt said. "When we started on this process three years ago, it felt like we had a very long time, a long runway with about 9½ [years] left on our lease. We're now down to 6½ and so I do feel very much of a sense of urgency.
"Arrowhead is a special place for our family and our fan base. That was one of the reasons that we focused on it with the last effort, but going forward it may make more sense for us to be in a new stadium.''
Voters in Jackson County, Missouri, rejected a sales tax measure earlier this month that would have helped fund major renovations to Arrowhead as well as build a new ballpark for MLB's Royals in downtown Kansas City.
Options for a stadium for the Chiefs elsewhere in the Kansas City area include building on the Kansas side of the state line.
The Chiefs had committed to contribute $300 million to the Arrowhead renovations, which had an overall cost of $800 million. The plan to renovate Arrowhead and build a new stadium for the Royals was rejected by almost 60% of voters. It would have replaced a three-eighth-cent sales tax with a similar tax for the next 40 years.
Hunt indicated the Chiefs and Royals would work on separate plans for funding their new stadiums.
"At this point it makes sense for both of us to work independently,'' Hunt said. "There's certainly nothing to preclude us coming back and doing something together, but [Royals owner John Sherman] also feels that sense of urgency and I know he's eager to try to find a long-term solution, which we are as well.
"Stadium development projects just take a long time and I don't want to put a specific number on it, but with only 6½ years left on the lease, we're going to have to work very hard over the next year, year and a half to see if we can find an option.''
