Similar to River Boat Cruises, Delray Yacht Cruises the magnificent intracoastal waterway in Palm Beach County. The beauty captured on the intracoastal cruises is breathtakingly beautiful!  When cruising, you have the unique benefit of seeing the beauty on the intracoastal that can only be seen from the water. The sights you will see cannot be viewed via car or land. This beauty can only be seen from the luxury of a boat! I think you will be delightfully surprised on this cruise! Here's a few photos from the intracoastal...

As your cruise tour begins, the Captain of the yacht narrates landmarks and historical points of interest. You will first notice the Atlantic Avenue drawbridge. This is a real authentic drawbridge that opens every 30 minutes for boats to pass through. You can watch it open and close as you cruise through it.

Cruising through the Atlantic Avenue Drawbridge

The first bridge at this location was built in 1911. It was a hand-cranked drawbridge. Can you imagine that!   Hand-cranked! You will now notice that the bridge is operated by a Bridge Tender who sits comfortably in an air conditioned Bridge Tender House. The Bridge Tender House was constructed originally in 1952. It was later redesigned in 1991 by local architect Robert Currie.

Sightseeing the Intracoastal with Delray Yacht Cruises

On our recent trip to Delray Beach we were looking for unique things to do with kids. We found Delray Yacht Cruises and booked an afternoon sightseeing tour. The 2-hour narrated sightseeing tours cruise through South Florida’s Intracoastal Waterway. These cruise are open to the public and take place all year and allow you to experience the calm waters of the Intracoastal Waterway aboard the Lady Atlantic or Lady Delray.

We booked Saturday afternoon cruise on the Lady Atlantic that took us from Veteran’s Park on East Atlantic Avenue, Delray Beach south to Boca Raton.  We had reservations for 1:30pm and arrived 30 minutes early as directed. Check-in is at the little ticket booth near the Yacht and was quick. Before boarding, they took a photo which they printed and found us later in the cruise to offer us to purchase. It was a reasonable price and a great way to remember the trip, so we bought it!

lady atlantic tours

Once on board we walked around the entire vessel and then ordered drinks for a sail away toast! They offer a full cash bar (for Adults over 21 years of age with valid ID), non-alcoholic beverages, smoothies, and other drinks during the cruise. We enjoyed a couple of cocktails while the kids enjoyed some virgin daiquiris. We didn’t eat, but they did have a food menu with things from chips, candy and other snacks to sandwiches, hot dogs & salads. They do not allow any outside food or beverage to be brought aboard the yacht.

On the South leg of the trip, the tour was narrated, pointing on some of the famous homes and area’s history. Our kids enjoyed seeing the beautiful mansions and picking out which ones we would live in. On the ride back to Veteran’s Park, they stopped narrating and we enjoyed a relaxing trip soaking up the calmness and great weather.

The Yacht is as beautiful as their Story

Delray Yacht Cruises is owned and operated by Captain Joe and Kerry Reardon. Captain Joe has worked on passenger boats for over 30 years, getting his Captain’s License at age 18. He spent many years in the operations side of the industry and eventually, along with his wife Kerry, purchased their first Boat in 2002.

Kerry is a native of Plymouth, Massachusetts, and her background is in the Food and Beverage Industry where she has worked in all areas of the profession. She has managed private upscale restaurants at some of Cape Cod’s most exclusive clubs catering to celebrities and professional athletes. Her vast knowledge of the Food and Beverage Industry coupled with Captain Joe’s three decades in the marine industry give them a rare combination of experience that is unrivaled in their profession. After going south to operate their boat in Florida for winters and returning north for the summer for several years, the Reardon’s eventually settled year round in Florida, operating the 90-foot Lady Delray and 105-foot Lady Atlantic that they had built in 2008. Delray Yacht Cruises has been named the number one sightseeing and charter company in South Florida.

Wonderful Sunday brunch.

I had initially wanted to take my son and daughter-in-law to Ft. Lauderdale for a dinner cruse on the Jungle Queen River Boat. I have been before on that and it was quite a bit of fun. But, we had an event we had to get back for so I was looking for something that started earlier and had food. We found it on the Delray Yacht Cruise. It was wonderful. we paid around $40 each for the cruise and it was well worth it. As we got on, of course, they snap your picture, then you go and relax anywhere until you get underway. As we were underway, my son is into wildlife and was able to pick out and show us around nine manatee. He has a very good eye for that sort of thing. You cruise down the intercostal waterway and view all the magnificent homes on the river. It is so relaxing, the boat had plenty of places and tables to sit and relax. Shortly into the cruise you are called to enjoy a wonderful brunch with french toast, salad, turkey with gravy, rolls, sausage, potatoes, eggs and a variety of other things. We ate and enjoyed the rest of our exactly 2 hour cruise. This is affordable and wonderful and if your ever in town I wouldn't miss it. Don't know if I would take small kids as it would make it not so relaxing. All three of us thoroughly enjoyed our day.

I live in Delray Beach and had been wanting to check out the cruise on the intercoastal. What better way than on a boat with all the comforts you need. My father in law was visiting and we took him on one of the cruises. They have one that goes north towards Lake Worth and the other south to Boca Raton. We did the north sightseeing cruise and now I want to do the south one. The man who did the narration was very informative on the area and pointed out many things along the way keeping your attention. His voice was clear and not muffled which is nice as you could stand/sit near the edges of the boat to view the landscape. They serve drinks of all kinds and food while the cruise is operating. The people operating the boat were very couteous and I highly recommend this attraction if you are in South Palm Beach area.

Delray Yacht Cruises offers year-round Sightseeing, Brunch, Dinner and Sunset cruises aboard the 105-foot Lady Atlantic and the 90-foot Lady Delray. My spouse and I recently took a two-hour Saturday evening Sunset cruise on the smaller of the two vessels, the Lady Delray. After obtaining the $23 per person tickets from the Veteran's Park kiosk, we walked to the adjacent dock and, after a brief boarding photo op, climbed aboard the 90-foot yacht. This particular evening, the Lady Delray was headed south via the intracoastal waterway from Delray to Boca Raton. She would make a turn at the one hour point and head back from Boca to Delray. We've heard that the yacht doesn't leave the dock without a minimum of 25 ticketed guests and, in our estimation, there were approximately fifty on board. Our initial impression in seeing row after row of plastic deck chairs was a touch of disappointment, but we soon discovered better places to settle in as the tour progressed. Once the cruise tour is underway, a taped narration begins. The narration is mildly interesting, offering gossipy tidbits regarding the wealthy waterfront homes and homeowners. There is an overemphasis on the "rich and famous" and "see how the other half lives" angle and the tape is a bit out of date, but it is lightly enjoyable in an empty-calorie kind of way. There was a problem with the speakers repeatedly cutting in and out on this particular evening which we hope has since been resolved. The narration encompasses most of the first hour of the cruise. Afterwards, the passengers are free to enjoy the lovely peace and serenity that comes with being out on the water. While on board, a small food and drink menu is made available to order from. Neither my spouse nor I ordered from the food menu, so I can not offer any perspective there, but we did order a single mixed drink each from the bar. While the bartender was friendly, the drinks themselves were unremarkable and were served in small plastic cups. As might be expected, the prices are relatively high - the bar tab for our two drinks was $30. Boarding photos were offered for purchase for $10. Unfortunately, neither the photos nor the paper frames offered any indication of the vessel, the occasion, the location, or the date. It was a plain photo with nothing in the background indicating we were even on a yacht. Nice idea but poorly executed. Toward the end of the cruise, a drawing is announced from those who provided their name, address, and email on a slip of paper in the bar area. Free passage on an upcoming cruise is offered in a random drawing to two passengers. When the names were called on our cruise no one got up to retrieve their prize, so it did leave me wondering whether or not a prize is actually distributed. All I can say is that the next day I was opted-in to a Delray Yacht Cruises email list. A few suggestions for Delray Yacht Cruises: Please consider replacing the lined up plastic deck chairs with small clusters of metal two and four tops and standing bar tables. A flickering "faux" flame candle in the center of the tables would make for a more elegant after dark atmosphere. Also please consider replacing the Jimmy Buffet-type kitchy music with something from the vast Jazz, New Age or Chill genres. Consider increasing the quality of the drinks, i.e. serving in glassware and trimming with appropriate garnish. Also consider accepting American Express - for many of us, it is the only card we carry. And a suggestion for the bathroom, do consider installing a small occupied/unoccupied mechanism on the door. I used the bathroom once during the cruise and had someone trying the doorknob and knocking on the door repeatedly the whole time because it was unclear whether or not the room was in use. Would also suggest a circulating server who could accept and deliver food and drink orders. It was unclear to us how to place a food order and drinks had to be obtained from the bar itself. A few suggestions for those booking with Delray Yacht Cruises: The evening cruises are an adult affair, please leave the kiddies at home. Check online and with local businesses for ticket, food and drink discounts that are occasionally offered - there can be substantial savings there. Check the weather and dress appropriately. Bring cash or a Visa card, Delray Yacht Cruises doesn't take American Express. We found the Lady Delray, built in 2008, to be a beautiful vessel - well maintained and in good condition. The single bathroom was clean and well stocked. Those uniformed crew members that we met and had contact with were professional and pleasant. Overall, Delray Yacht Cruises is a well-run operation and this was a very pleasant way to spend two hours on a Saturday evening in Fall in South Florida. We are thinking of trying the Brunch cruise next, now that we've heard there have been improvements made to the on board Brunch cruise menu. Bon Voyage!

A very nice way to get out on the water of the intercoastal waterway and see the sights. Tour seems to focus on the rich and famous, highlighting the ridiculously extravangant mansions built on the waterway. I don't know who would want to live in this area with tour boats driving back and forth with loudspeakers describing their pools and the history of their homes. But the boat ride itself is very nice and enjoyable, sit outside or in the airconditioned comfort inside the cabin. Bathrooms are very clean, service is very good. Discount coupon is available at nearby businesses bringing the price down to $16 per person from $24. We traveled south for our tour, they say the tour north is very good as well. I would recommend this, but it isn't something I would do twice. They also validate parking which is a plus.

lovely views, romantic atmosphere, nice yachts great service and lovely staff. Definetly recommend this to anyone

My husband and I went on the Italian dinner cruise. The atmosphere was very relaxed and romantic. The scenery was beautiful.

On the Water: Banish summertime blues with an Intracoastal cruise

10796593101?profile=RESIZE_710x

By Tao Woolfe

Long subtropical summer got you down? Follow the mantra of every South Seas explorer from Cortés to Cousteau: Get out on the water. Fortunately, there are many ways to do that in Palm Beach County, from party boats to private tours. One of the newest vessels to ply the local Intracoastal Waterway is the Boynton Beach Tiki Taxi Cruise. It costs only $10 for a ride, and you can stay aboard for as long as you like, or jump off — have dinner at one of the Boynton Beach pier restaurants — and then jump back on. The Tiki Taxi, with its thatched roof and disco lights, may not be the most elegant boat on the Intracoastal, but it’s a lot of fun. You can find your own space on the 40-foot vessel to watch sunsets and pelicans, or join the conversation around the crowded bar. Mixed drinks, soft drinks, beer, wine and snacks are available at the bar. During a recent Saturday evening cruise, a group of visitors from Colombia took advantage of the slow, steady ride to dance, drink and glance occasionally at the mansions along the shore. Colored lights, tucked up under the speakers and thatched roof, seemed to shift along with the upbeat mix of pop, rock, country and disco music. A pair of lovers, lost in their own world, stood at the front of the boat and held each other. Capt. Dave Montgomery took it all in stride. “We have a good crowd tonight and this is only our second week,” he said. “We just take our time and everybody loves it.” Boynton Beach resident Madeline McCreery, accompanied by her friend Casey Donnelly, said she was having a blast. “It’s a great way to get out on the water, especially if you don’t have a boat,” McCreery said. “It’s something we really needed around here to get people out of the house.” Donnelly agreed. “I’m having the best time,” she said. “I love it!” The Tiki Taxi and Cruises company, based in Stuart, opened in 2020 just before the pandemic shut everything down, said owner Rosemary Kuyrkendall. The company reopened last year and now operates boats in Stuart, Jupiter and Boynton Beach. Kuyrkendall said she and her husband, Gene Kuyrkendall, hope eventually to add a second Boynton Beach boat to the fleet. Cruises leave on the hour from the Boynton Beach harbor marina — right next to Two Georges Restaurant. The hours of operation are Thursdays and Fridays from 5-11 p.m.; Saturdays from 1-11 p.m.; and Sundays from 1-9 p.m. Call 772-521-0024 for more information.

Delray Yacht Cruises If you’re looking for a bigger, sleeker boat, Delray Yacht Cruises operates two yachts that sail out of Delray Beach — the 90-foot Lady Delray and 105-foot Lady Atlantic. The sightseeing cruises, which offer two-hour narrated tours along the Intracoastal Waterway, depart from Veterans Park on East Atlantic Avenue. Tours are offered Wednesday to Sunday afternoons starting at 1:30, and Friday and Saturday evenings starting at 5:30. Tickets are $30 for regular admission and $27 for seniors and children. Snacks and a full bar are available onboard. Reservations are highly recommended. Call 561-243-0686.

Palm Yachts If you’re looking for something a bit more intimate — and colorful — you can charter a mint- or pink-bodied Boston Whaler with a matching striped Bimini top for an Intracoastal cruise. The 17-foot boats come equipped with a captain and can accommodate up to six people. Cruises depart from Jupiter and from the docks of waterfront hotels in Palm Beach proper — including The Breakers, Four Seasons Resort and the Colony Hotel. “We have carved a specialty niche of bachelorette parties,” said Jason Norcross, one of four company owners. “People rent both boats, which can accommodate 10-12 people.” The boats are very popular among Instagram fans and that is the only platform on which the company advertises, Norcross said. The company will supply box lunches, upon request, and will also extend the $750 two-hour tours for an additional $150 an hour. If you just can’t get enough of the adorable boats on an hourly basis, you can buy one for $54,995. Reservations can be made only online.
