India holds some of the most holy and sacred places on Earth.

Just to the south of the walled city of Agra, lies the magnificent Mausoleum of Mumtaz Mahal , the third wife of Emperor Shah Jahan. So beloved by him, his unrelenting grief inspired the construction of one of the 7 Wonders of the World. The very words “ Taj Mahal ” mean ‘breath of magic, devotion, and the force of love’. It is indeed one of the most beautiful buildings on Earth.

We will greet it in the morning as the sun lights up the beguiling white marble and delicately inlaid stones which make this “Crown of Palaces'' the height of Mughal architecture. Elegant calligraphy inscribed passages from the Qur’an are found throughout the complex. Domes of marble reach to the sky in perfect symmetry, inlays of jasper, black marble, and herringbone tile cover the floors with delicately and dizzyingly complex decorations.

Shah Jahan himself said of the Taj:

“Should guilty seek asylum here, Like one pardoned, he becomes free from sin. Should a sinner make his way to this mansion, All his past sins are to be washed away.

The sight of this mansion creates sorrowing sighs;

And the sun and the moon shed tears from their eyes.

In this world this edifice has been made;

To display thereby the creator’s glory.”

Sacred journey to india itinerary:, day 1: february 17th - 2024 | saturday.

After completing all the formalities at Delhi Airport you will be met by our representative with a traditional welcome. You will then be escorted to your hotel, check-in and rest before exploring India’s ancient and modern cities, ashrams, temples, fire temples, colorful bazaars. Let your true SACRED MYSTICAL JOURNEY begin! At 6.00 p.m. we will gather for a ‘Meet and Greet’ along with a delectable Welcome Dinner.

Delhi; the capital city of India is a city of contrasts. One of the oldest and most progressive, she combines a unique blend and ambience of the ancient and the modern. We will spend 3 nights in Delhi. (D)

DAY 2: February 18th - 2024 | Sunday

After breakfast we journey to experience and participate in The AGNIHOTRA Ritual ---“A sacred healing FIRE from the ancient science of Ayurveda”. A process of purifying the atmosphere through a specially prepared FIRE. The beneficial effects reduce stress, improve overall health and give one increased energy. Upon completion of the ritual we will visit the magnificent AKSHARDHAM TEMPLE. T his temple complex displays millennia of Indian tradition and modern Hindu culture, spirituality, and architecture. This stunning spread of a hundred acres is entirely constructed from pink stone from Rajasthan and marble from Italy, intricately carved with flora and fauna, dancers, musicians and deities, numbering 20,000 with 234 intricately carved columns.

DAY 3: February 19th - 2024 | Monday - AGRA

DAY TRIP TO AGRA -  We board the Gatimaan Express executive air conditioned chair car,  departing at 08:10 hours and arriving 09:50 hours. We visit the TAJ MAHAL which stands on the right bank of the River Jumna. Regarded as one of the Wonders of the World, it’s synonymous not only with India but known the whole world over. Many poets in India compare the beautiful monuments to a song written in stone and the Taj to a poem composed in white marble. To immortalize his passionate devotion to his bereaved consort and to build over her grave a mausoleum of matchless beauty, Shah Jahan summoned expert architects not only from India, but from far off countries such as Turkey, Persia and Arabia. Twenty thousand people were involved in the construction of this matchless and exquisite monument. Today, the main industry in Agra is based on marble carving which is exported all over the world.

After lunch we will visit the marble in-lay work mostly done by families whose ancestors were from the time of Shah Jahan. Later we will board our train back to Delhi. Departing at 17:40 hours and reaching Delhi at 19:30 hours. Overnight in Delhi. (BLD)

DAY 4: February 20th - 2024 | Tuesday - Chennai

This morning we fly from Delhi to Chennai. Formerly known as Madras, it is the capital of the state of Tamil Nadu and is India’s fifth largest city, located on the Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal. Chennai boasts of a long history from the East India Company through British rule.

This afternoon we visit the ST. THOMAS CATHEDRAL . According to the written records, Christianity was introduced to the Indian subcontinent by THOMAS THE APOSTLE in 52 AD. We will visit the ancient Church which is a holy place of international prominence, historical eminence and religious glory. A most profound tourist attraction. Preserving its glorious antiquity, this five century old shrine has been renovated and restored in recent times.

Late afternoon we will be visiting the Kapaleeswarar  Temple . The prime idol is of Lord Shiva in the form of Lingam. Built in the 7 th century by the Pallavas, this divine Temple is said to be one of the oldest Temples in Tamil Nadu. The Temple contains inscriptions dating back to the 13 th century AD and is a masterpiece of Dravidian architecture. The magnificent 140 ft. tall Gopuram depicts intricate carvings of tales from Hindu mythology. We will have an opportunity to mingle with the devotees and observe the various rituals of Hinduism. Overnight in Chennai (BLD)

DAY 5: February 21st - 2024 | Wednesday - Kanchipuram

This morning we travel to experience the holy city of Kanchipuram .

Kanchipuram is known for its Temple architecture, 1,000 pillared halls, huge Temple towers and silk saree. Kanchipuram has been ruled by the Pallavas, the Cholas and the Pandays; later the British. The city was known as a center of education and was known as Ghatikasthana or the ‘Place of Learning’. The city was also a religious center of advanced education for Jainism and Buddhism between the 1 st and 5 th centuries.

The city houses the Varadharaja Perumal Temple, Kamakshi Temple, Ekambareswarar Temple which are some of the foremost temples associated with the 108 Holy Temples of Lord Vishnu . Overnight in Kanchipuram. (BLD)

Day 6: February 22nd - 2024 | Thursday - TIRUVANNAMALAI

This morning we drive to TIRUVANNAMALAI — A Temple city synonymous with the fifth Hindu Element of Fire, it ranks as one of the five holiest towns of Tamil Nadu. The name means “Red Mountain” which refers to Mt. Arunachala and its “unearthly” crimson color in the dawn light which is stunning to behold. Mythology identifies the mountain as the place where Shiva asserted his power over Brahma and Vishnu by manifesting himself as a ‘Lingham of Fire’ or Agnihotra. The event is commemorated annually at the Nov/ Dec Full Moon Karthigai Festival and is known as the “Pradakshina” (most auspicious of the monthly full moon circumambulations of the Mountain). The town is filled with shrines, sacred tanks, ashrams and paved pilgrim paths scattered around the mountain. The main focus is undoubtedly the vast Arunachaleshwara Temple. “Temple of Eternal Sunrise”. Over 1,000 years in the building, this enormous complex consists of three concentric courtyards. Here Sri Ramana sat in a state of Supreme Awareness while ants devoured his flesh. Later in the afternoon we climb up the hill and visit the cave where Sri Ramana Maharishi spent some days. Here we spend 3 nights. (BLD)

Day 7: February 23rd - 2024 | Friday - Ramana Maharishi Ashram

Early this morning we visit the Annamalaiyar Temple . This complex expands over an area of 25 acres. It houses four gateway towers known as Gopurams. The tallest is the eastern tower with 11 stories and a height of 217 feet, making it one of the tallest temple towers in India. The temple complex houses many halls. The most notable is the thousand pillared hall. Next, we will visit the Ramana Maharishi Ashram and spend some time in ‘quiet’ and meditation. Later we return to our hotel. (BLD)

Day 12: February 28th - 2024 | Wednesday - Trichy

Trichy or also called Tiruchirapalli. The recorded history of Trichy begins in the 3 rd century BC when it was under the rule of the Cholas, and later ruled by different dynasties, including Pallavas, Pandyas, Vijayanagar Empire, Nayak Dynasty and the British. It is famous for The Ranganathaswamy Temple , dedicated to the reclining form of Hindu God Vishnu and is also the largest functioning Temple in the World. This city also played a critical role in the Carnatic Wars (1746 – 1763) between the British and the French.

The Presence of a large number of energy equipment manufacturing units in and around the city has earned it the title of ‘Energy Equipment and Fabrication Capital of India’. After breakfast we check out and travel to enjoy the myriad of Temples. Later in the afternoon we drive for about 3 hours to beautiful Madurai. (BLD)

Day 13: February 29th - 2024 | Thursday - MADURAI

MADURAI. This is the longest living city in the World and a major city in the State of Tamil Nadu. Located on the banks of River Vaigai, Madurai has been a major settlement for two millennia and has a documented history of more than 2,500 years. Madurai is one of the many Temple towns which was built around the Meenakshi Amman Temple . This Hindu Temple is located on the south side of the Vaigai River. It is dedicated to Meenakshi and her consort, Sundareswarar. The complex houses 14 gopurams or towers ranging from 148 to 164 feet in height. The tallest being 170 feet. There are also two golden sculptured Vimana,(Shrines) over the sanctum of the main deities.

The Temple is a significant symbol for Tamils and has been mentioned since antiquity in Tamil literature. The present structure was built between 1623 and 1655 CE. Today the Temple attracts 15 to 20 thousand pilgrims daily. There are an estimated 33,000 sculptures in the Temple and was in the list of top 30 nominees for the New Seven Wonders of the World . The Temple has a hall of a thousand pillars, a wonderful piece of architecture believed to be built out of a single rock. There are many ancient paintings inside the museum of this Temple. The principal deity is Meenakshi, a form of Goddess Parvat i and is carved in emerald hued stone.

After our Temple and city tour we return to the hotel. (BLD)

Day 14: March 1st - 2024 | Friday - Coimbatore/Kovai

After breakfast we drive to Coimbatore.

Coimbatore is also called Kovai and is one of the major metropolitan cities in Tamil Nadu. Kovai is the second largest city in Tamil Nadu after Chennai. The largest exporter of jewelry, poultry and auto components, it is also a hub for the textile industry in South India. The City is referred to as the Manchester of South India. It was ranked as the ‘7 th Best City in India’ in the Ease of Living Index 2020.

On arrival we check in. Later in the evening we drive around the city to include a visit to the famous Maruthamalai temple dedicated to Lord Murga, the Son of Lord Siva . (BLD)

Day 15: March 2nd - 2024 | Saturday - Coonoor

After breakfast we check out and drive to Coonoor.

Coonoor is a hill station (Town) in the Southern State of Tamil Nadu. It’s known for its tea estates in the surrounding Nilgiri Hills. At an elevation of 1,850 meters (6,070 feet) above sea level the temperatures drop to a cool 50 to 70 degrees F. Coonoor and Ooty were the summer capitals of the British because of the lovely climate. On arrival we check in. After lunch we proceed to visit the Tea Factory, where we will be shown the original process. Later in the evening we return to our hotel. (BLD)

Day16: March 3rd - 2024 - Sunday - Coonoor/Ooty

This morning we visit the famous Mariamman Temple dedicated to Goddess Parvati

and later we drive to Ooty. Ooty is one of the prettiest places in the Western Ghats. With its rolling hills, lush tea plantations, misty realms, shimmering lakes and cool climate it was given the nickname, ‘Queen of Hill Stations’. In addition to being extremely scenic, the hill town is home to several colonial buildings. From Coonoor, the drive is about 40 minutes. Once we reach Ooty we have lunch and later visit the Elk Hill Murugan Temple . Perched atop a small hill and enveloped in immense lushness we reach the 40 ft. stunning statue of Lord Murugan . Along with the sculpture of Lord Murugan the temple also houses those of Goddess Kali, Lord Ganesh and Lord Shiva . Later we drive back to Coonoor and enjoy the rest of the evening to explore. (BLD)

Day 17: March 4th - 2024 Monday - Coonoor

Today we have a free day allowing us a time to integrate, meditate, journal and enjoy the cool weather, spend time at the spa or sip tea watching the mountains. We have the moment to avail ourselves of the lovely hotel, feeling the fond memories of this wonderful tour. (BLD)

Day 18: March 5th - 2024 Tuesday - Coimbatore/Delhi

This morning after breakfast we check out and drive to Coimbatore for a couple of hours. On arrival we have lunch and after, head to the airport to board our flight to Delhi; departing at 15.20 hours and arriving at 18.30 hours. On arrival we check in to the hotel to do final packing before departing for the airport and our peace filled journey home with gratitude in our hearts for all we have experienced. (BLD)

Day 19: March 6th - 2024 Wednesday – Extension to visit Varanasi and Darjeeling

If this extension interests you. It is 2 nights in Varanasi and 3 nights in Darjeeling.

After breakfast we will take a tour through Delhi as we venture toward our first stop, the 17th century Old Delhi. We begin exploring Old Delhi by visiting the Jama Mosque, a royal mosque built by the Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan in 1656. We then ride a bicycle rickshaw through the narrow lanes of Chandni Chowk, the spine of Old Delhi that houses the spice market and jewelers lane. After that we will visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site the Red Fort. Next, we will visit Humayun’s tomb. Emperor Humayun was the second Mughal Emperor of India. The tomb was built by his widow, Biga Begum (Hajji Begum), in 1569-70, 14 years after his death, at a cost of 1.5 million rupees. The tomb was later used for the burial of various members of the ruling family and contains some 150 graves. It has aptly been described as the ‘necropolis of the Mughal dynasty’.

After lunch we visit the house of Mahatma Gandhi, a place where Mr. Gandhi’s epic life ended on January 30th, 1948. Mahatma Gandhi lived in this house from September 9th, 1947 until his death and the house is home to many treasures and memorial items from the last 144 days of his life. The House was acquired by the Government of India in 1971 and was converted into a National Memorial of Gandhi, “Father of the Nation” and was opened to the public on August 15, 1973. As you walk through Gandhi’s home it’s as though you feel the majesty of his presence still there, a truly fascinating and memorable step back in time that will leave you with a quiet stillness but lifted spirit. The building and the landscape have been preserved to the lush beauty that filled the eyes of the beloved teacher and you will be impressed as you stroll the grounds. Before heading to our hotel, we will see the war memorial India Gate as well as the impressive grounds of the presidential palace.

In the evening enjoy your welcome dinner in your hotel.

After breakfast we will drive for about 4 hours to Agra, a city which is famous for being home to the Taj Mahal. Arrive and check in at your hotel.

In the late afternoon witness the blue and white backdrop of the Taj Mahal transform as the sun slowly casts a honey hued canvas onto the iconic monument of love as it seemingly carmelizes into dusk. Built between 1631 and 1648, the Taj Mahal is the jewel of Muslim architecture in India and is universally one of the most admired masterpieces of the world’s heritage. This most famous monument of love was built by order of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal.

Optional: In the early evening you have the opportunity to enjoy the The Love Story of The Taj Mahal, Live Play/Musical Performance: This musical depicts the saga of love between Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal. Feel the sorrow of Shah Jahan as he holds his beloved wife Mumtaz as she takes her last breathe, thus, crippling his heart forever but is the impetus for Shah Jahan to build the magnificent Taj Mahal. The lavish lifestyle of the Mughal era in the 16th century and the hardships of the artisans who worked for 22 years to create the breathtaking monument are portrayed in this whimsical drama of love, sorrow, and devotion. After breakfast we embark on a 6 hour drive to Ranthambore National Park. On the way we will visit the abandoned Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri. Built by Emperor Akbar in 1569, this was the old capital of the Moghuls, which was abandoned after 15 years due to lack of water. After Fatehpur Sikri we will proceed to Rathambore National Park we will stop at our lunching desintation at Kalakhao before proceeding onward with our journey. Continue drive to Ranthambore. Arrive and check in at your hotel. Later enjoy your dinner in the hotel.

Ranthambore National Park, haven to India’s remaining Bengal tigers and where the shallow lakes, gentle slopes and plateaus dominate the landscape of the park making an ideal setting to spot the elusive tiger. Apart from the Bengal Tiger, other animals that inhabit the park are Sloth Bears, Jackals, Marsh Crocodiles, Leopards, Gazelles, Indian Hares, Porcupines, Jungle Cats, Sambhars, Chinkaras, Mongoose, Nilgai, Wild Boar, and Monitor Lizards. The park is equally rich in flora where the Banyan, Dhak, Mango, and Pipal trees are in abundance. A large variety of birds can also be seen and heard in the park.

Your day will begin before sunrise with coffee/tea and biscuits before setting off on an early morning game drive in search of the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger. Return to the hotel for breakfast later in the morning.

By late afternoon we will head out on another game drive to experience the sights and sounds of the park at the close of the day. We will end our safari just before sunset as we return to the hotel ending our day just before sunset.

After breakfast we leave for a 4 hour drive to Jaipur which is known all over the world as the ‘Pink City’. Jaipur will amaze you with the architecture and planning of both its old and new cities. Experience how the city explodes into a kaleidoscope of colour and hear the bustling sounds at every corner of this vibrant city. Jaipur is an excellent place to shop for textiles and designer jewellery. Arrive and check-in to your hotel, afternoon is free to explore the area and do some shopping.

Optional: Cooking class and dinner with a local family. For those who would like to spend an interesting, educational, and social evening we have just the event for you. Join a well-known Rajput family in their home to learn some great techniques in Rajasthani Indian Cuisine. The in-house chefs will explain various techniques and share secrets of how to use Indian spices for all your favourite dishes. Trident Hotel Jaipur

Resplendent in the hues of its magnificent past, Jaipur is one of the most vibrant, 5-star destinations in India. The capital and the largest city of Rajasthan, it was founded by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, in 1727. Folklore has it that in 1876, the city was painted a luxury, warm pink colour to welcome the Prince of Wales (King Edward VII). Since then, the ‘pink city’, as it is lovingly called, has retained its rosy blush, which has charmed travelers from around the world.

After breakfast we venture to the outskirts of Jaipur where we will be greeted and transported to the magnificent Amber Fort Palace. Later, we proceed for a city tour of Jaipur and stop for a photo at the Hawa Mahal, the “Palace of the Winds.” This incredible building was built to allow the royal ladies of the palace to discretely watch the grand processions along the main street. Next, we visit the City Palace Museum which has a priceless collection of antiques, costumes, and armory of the Mughals and Rajputs including swords of different shapes and sizes with chiseled handles. We then continue to the Jantar Mantar Observatory which was built in the early 1700s by Maharaja Jai Sing II, the great warrior-astronomer to which this city owes its name.

After breakfast we will leave on our 5 hour journey to New Delhi where you will check in at the airport hotel until your flight departs for home. An Explore India representative will meet you and transfer you to the international airport.

Dear Nazir, Not having travelled on a tour prior to this trip, Brian and I were a bit concerned about how the itinerary would work for the two of us who tend to be rather "foot loose and fancy-free”. Our interaction with you and Mandira, while arranging our tour, was very positive, so we were quite hopeful that the tour would be just right for us. Brian and I appreciated your attention to detail, to making sure our needs were met and especially your pre-trip phone call to answer any questions we had. Our positive interaction with Explore India continued with all the staff throughout India. Our first meeting with knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly Rajeev who so competently managed all the details throughout the tour and Harry, our erudite, articulate and enthusiastic guide quickly dispelled any concerns we had. Our drivers were quite wonderful, as they took us through the hectic crowded streets of Delhi, Jaipur, Agra, and Varanasi, and through the rural roads that were crowded with oxen and other animals, keeping us safe at all times. Our assistants, in particular, Amid, were charming, taking great care of us and always providing us with much needed cold water whenever we came back to the bus. Our tour was a small group, and we quickly meddled into a cohesive group, enjoying each other’s company and sharing in the delight of exploring northern India together. The tour suited us perfectly, no name tags to wear other than the first morning when we were introduced to each other, no flags to follow, rather just a group of travellers exploring together. The Impressions of India tour was extremely well organized and the itinerary provided us with the opportunity to see the majority of historical sites in the cities and rural areas we visited. India’s history is complex and the tour and Harry our guide provided us with many insights into the past world and architecture of the Mugals, Rajputs, Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Jains and Buddhists as well as providing many insights into modern India. All of the sites we visited were both impressive and moving, however, none more so that the shimmering beauty of the Taj Mahal in Agra. While we found the cities fascinating, the countryside and its people were more interesting to both of us. A request to stop by the roadside so that I could photograph the women working in the fields turned into an incredible opportunity to stop at a tiny village where we were able to interact with some of the villagers. I think the villagers were as intrigued with us as we were with them. I was very honored to be given a wee, naked baby girl to hold by a shy young mother. Throughout our trip, we continued to have opportunities to interact with the local people, which was a pleasure for all of us. It was quite interesting that in the rural areas, we were considered exotic, and as a result, a number of the locals asked us if they could take photos of us with their children. It didn’t seem to matter that our Hindi was limited to please and thank you and our only Urdu was thank you, or that many people we interacted with had no English, we were able to communicate with smiling eyes and with joy and appreciation for all the children we encountered. A highlight for all of us was an unplanned stop at a government-sponsored school in rural Rajasthan. We arrived just as the whole school, from kindergarten to high school was meeting in the hot, dusty centre courtyard. The children and teachers were thrilled to meet us and we were equally thrilled to meet them. We were introduced individually, including our occupations (or former occupations) and treated with much respect, especially Brian as a former principal, and Tina as a former mathematics teacher. Our decision to sing Oh Canada was completely spontaneous and utterly moving as the nine of us sang with great pride our national anthem to a rapt audience of students and teachers. Three teenage girls then sang the Indian national anthem with sweet young voices again to a rapt audience of staff, students, and Canadians. All too soon it was time to say goodbye as the students returned to their classrooms and we headed off to continue our exploring. Our hotels were luxurious with wonderfully attentive staff. The food was excellent wherever we were with a variety of curries and Indian specialties available at every meal. There was nothing better than freshly baked naan with each and every meal. Street vendors had small carts with the most interesting and delectable food offerings and as our stomachs grew accustomed to the Indian diet, and with our guide Harry’s direction, we were able to try some local specialties including deep fried vegetarian balls dipped into a spicy cilantro sauce, crispy potato samosas, refreshing plan in Varanasi, local sweets, and masala chai made with camel milk at a small remote tea stand. Indian culture is very different than our own and it was important to us that we not judge the people and their ways through our Western eyes but rather just let ourselves experience all that India had to offer. India is a rich and vibrant country that provided us with the most fascinating multi-sensory experiences and gave us just a small glimpse into its world and its warm and welcoming people. We feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to have been there and feel equally fortunate to have found your Explore India company which provided us with such an incredible variety of experiences in a short period of time. We definitely could not have seen as much as we did without your fascinating itinerary. Returning home to a very rainy October, we are already thinking of returning to India, and of course, when we do, we will definitely be in touch to book another trip with you. Thanks Nazir, we are back tired but entirely satisfied! Where do I start?  You have a tremendous team working for you in India, including Raj, our guide in Darjeleen and of course Ardvid (please excuse my spelling).  Not only were we fully informed about what we were seeing but they all added interesting info regarding the religions, history etc.  I give Ardvid a 42 gun salute (Trust you know what this means with him). What a beautiful man! Went out of his way to satisfy everyone, one of our friends, Val Frost hurt her foot, he obtained a rickshaw for her twice.  Always first on there when meeting us and always counting, does herding cats come to mind. The tour was spectacular!  Know I understand the phrase Incredible India.  Extremes are mind boggling, from extreme poverty to extreme wealth.  The driving!  The cows!  The people!  (we were stopped constantly to have pictures taken with locals.  Always a friendly smile, a wave.  Once instance a school group stopped and sang the Indian National Anthem for us. Hotels and meals super!  The only downside was no tigers at the preserve but to show Ardvid, in Jaipur tried to show us all leopards to make up for lack of tigers, but unfortunately, only one car of the group saw them.  Another example of his need and wish to please all. Thank Raj for arrangements for our last day.  Worked much better than the original plan.  We had two awesome drivers and Raj was always there, even to the point phoning all three groups the night before our departure and then again in the two cars on our way to the airport. One downside was the interesting move of the Prime Minister on the night we departed, canceling 500/1000 rupee notes.  I know Errol got stuck with a couple but I recommended he mail the rupees to you so you could arrange a donation to charity. Please feel free to use me as a reference Nazir if necessary.  You and your group were wonderful from the time we booked until our return.  If you need any clarification regarding the above please let me know but a big THANK YOU again from two extremely satisfied guests.

I can only say Helen and I thoroughly enjoyed our time in India. It was very insightful and not a little unsettling and moving at times. This is as it should be. I had a little list of things I wanted to be able to do with the free time we had, as you know, and I accomplished all of them. The support ‘on the ground’ was good and Yajur was a very good guide. He’s very personable, organized and well informed. Please give him my best regards and convey to him my sincere appreciation for being our Tour Manager. He’s a keeper in my opinion. He provided a lot of very good context and insight into the country and its people as well as its strengths and challenges. His ‘lectures’ on the bus as we traveled I personally found very helpful. They got me thinking, asking questions and engaging him in conversation, when possible, to expand my knowledge (as for me this, along with time on the street, is an important part of travel). He has a lot of useful knowledge of the sites we visited also. That and the local and national newspapers available at the hotels were very helpful in that regard. I read them daily. It was a good way to see the part of India we were able to see, especially given my language limitations and lack of extensive prior knowledge of Indian culture. I had done preparatory reading prior to arriving in India. I came away with a better knowledge base and perspective on a very diverse country of 1.2B people. Enjoyed the accommodation, the food and the services provided also. Increased my tolerance for hot spices (in moderation) and Kingfisher beer too. I really can’t offer anything else beyond what I’ve already said. It was a ‘slice of life’ and I personally was very glad I went. Helen likewise.

I would not describe the past two weeks as a vacation, but rather an amazing adventure in your beautiful country. The people were extremely friendly, the food was wonderful and it will difficult, if not impossible to describe to our friends and family the sounds, smells and sites that made this trip such a success. It must be said that Jazur's knowledge and efficiency contributed significantly to the success of the trip in every respect, he was a first class guide - a real "keeper!". If the minor communication problem was the only issue, then I would consider the organization first class .The complexities associated with this venture must be enormous. One minor glitch shows you can't be super-human all the time. In conclusion, many thanks for a truly great adventure. We will certainly recommend your services to friends and family.

All of this together is sure to cast a magical spell on you and leave you amazed for a long, long time. After your arrival in Delhi, go on a wonderful sightseeing tour of both Old and New Delhi. Next, step into the holy city of Varanasi which is located on the banks of the Ganges. Feast your eyes on the grand sight of the 'Ganga Aarti' as it takes place on the ghat. Enjoy an early morning boat ride along the Ganges to watch different types of Hindu rites and rituals along the multiple ghats. An excursion to Sarnath, where Gautam Buddha gave his first sermon, is next. Fly to Khajuraho and explore the Khajuraho Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After a sightseeing tour of Orchha, head straight to Agra which has the world-renowned Taj Mahal. Undertake an adventure-packed jeep safari into the dense forests of Ranthambore National Park. Spend time in cities like Jaipur (Capital of Rajasthan) and Udaipur to gain an insight into the history of Rajput rulers and see a number of majestic forts and palaces. Catch a flight to Aurangabad from where you'll have the opportunity to explore the Ajanta and Ellora caves, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. While in Mumbai, visit such famous attractions as the Gateway of India, the Elephanta Caves, the Prince of Wales Museum and the Marine Drive among others. Get back home with some of the most wonderful memories ever.

Day 01 : Arrive Delhi

Warm welcome on arrival at Delhi International airport and our representative shall transfer you to your pre booked hotel with check in formalities. Rest of the day is free at leisure and overnight stay is at Delhi.

Day 02 : Delhi

Today’s sightseeing will include a visit to few great sites of Old as well as New part of Delhi. Start the trip with a visit to the heritage market of Chandni Chowk, take a rickshaw ride to visit Jama Masjid. Drive through India Gate and stop at president’s Palace to click some pictures. Further proceed to visit Qutub Minar which was built by Mughal emperor Qutub-Ud-Din-Aibek and also Humayun’s Tomb.

Day 03 : Varanasi

Morning fly to Varanasi. Charmingly located on the banks of sacred tributary Ganga, it is considered as the holiest breathing city of the world. In the evening enjoy the boat ride on holy River Ganges and be the part of eye catching grand 'Aarti Ceremony' on the ghat.

Early morning again enjoy the boat ride on River Ganges to observe the early morning dealings which takes place on the depository of the holy River Ganges. Day 05 : Khajuraho

After breakfast take a flight to Khajuraho. Constructed by the powerful soldier rulers of the Chandela empire, flanked by 950 – 1050 AD, a really stimulated rupture of imagination that holds attractively an open erotic figurine, these temples are revived yet again in the 20th century and now a UNESCO World inheritance place. Visit Western Group of temples. Stay at Khajuraho.

Day 06 : Orchha

Day 07 : Agra

Day 08 : Karauli

In the morning visit impressive white marble structure of Taj Mahal remarked as representation of eternal love of an emperor. Further visit the massive Agra Fort precisely explained as a splendid walled city built with red sandstone. Later drive to the tiny village of Karauli.

Day 09 : Ranthambore National Park

Wake up in the peaceful atmosphere of Karauli village. After breakfast visit Madan Mohanji temple and City Palace. Later drive to Ranthambore which was once the game reserve for the Maharaja’s of Jaipur.

Day 10 : Jaipur

Morning jungle safari by jungle jeep / canter. Shoot the glorious mammals in your camera like Leopards, Indian Gazelle, Neelgai (Blue Bull), Chital, Sambar, Mongoose, which you can sight often in the woods. Afternoon drive to Jaipur - generally known as 'Pink City' due to the large use of pink color applied to the buildings.

Day 11 : Jaipur

Meet your guide at the hotel and then take an excursion to Amber Fort, enjoy decorated elephant ride to reach the fort on the top of the hill. Later proceed for sightseeing tour of pink city visiting City Palace lodging the Chandra Mahal, and the City Palace Museum, Jantar Mantar observatory, Hawa Mahal a wonderful five-story structure is great master works. Also enjoy folk dance performances in a local restaurant.

Day 12 : Udaipur

Morning leave for Udaipur. The City of Dreams or Venice of the East - is perhaps the most stunning of all Indian cities. A quixotic group of exotic gardens filled with budding trees and fancy island palaces shining in mirror - calm lakes, that's Udaipur. In the evening enjoy the motor boat cruise on the Lake Pichola.

Day 13 : Udaipur

Proceed for city sightseeing tour of Udaipur visiting City Palace, here you will wonder at rooms with mirrored walls and ivory doors, colorful glass casements, inlaid marble galleries and the peacock courtyard. Also visit the beautiful garden called "Sahelion-ki-Bari", Jagdish Temple and the local Folk Museum.

Day 14 : Aurangabad

Fly to Aurangabad. The place is a good choice for weekend excursion and a perfect base to explore the Ajanta and Ellora Caves. This World Heritage Site attracts many from far & wide. Apart from those relics, Aurangabad in present day is famous for its hand woven Paithani Silk and Himroo saris.

Day 15 : Ajanta and Ellora Caves

Leave for sightseeing of Ajanta caves which are the best examples of rock cut architecture, sculpture and paintings. There are thirty caves at Ajanta, some of them are single storied, and some are double storied while there are others which are over three storeys. Later visit Ellora caves which are about thirty four in number. Curiously enough some are Buddhist caves, some Brahmanical while the others are Jain caves.

Day 16 : Mumbai

After breakfast fly to Mumbai. Being the financial epicenter of India, it attracts thousands of people every year. The Hindi film industry popularly known as Bollywood is also based in Mumbai. The city derives its name from the local goddess 'Mumbadevi'. This giant city is a just a position of the old and the new, colonial and modernist, be its culture, architecture or daily humdrum.

Day 17 : Mumbai

Visit the Gateway of India. From Gateway of India we take a regular ferry to travel to rock cut caves of Elephanta Island - dedicated to Lord Shiva. In the second half of the day visit the famous tourist sites of Mumbai including Prince of Wales Museum, Hanging Gardens, Marine Drive and Dhobhi Ghat (the famous open air laundry of Mumbai).

Day 18 : Depart Mumbai

Fly back to home with beautiful memories of the trip.
