Being a tour guide is an exciting and rewarding profession that allows you to share your love for travel and adventure with others. As a tour guide, you not only serve as a source of information, but you also help create memorable experiences for your clients. One aspect of being a successful tour guide is dressing appropriately for the role.

The way you dress as a tour guide can have a significant impact on how clients perceive you and the overall experience they have on the tour. Your attire should not only reflect professionalism and expertise, but it should also be practical, comfortable, and suitable for the type of tour you are leading.

In this article, we will explore the importance of dressing as a tour guide and provide valuable tips and suggestions on how to choose the right attire for different types of tours. We will also discuss the significance of proper footwear and accessories, as well as the cultural considerations to keep in mind when dressing as a tour guide.

Whether you are leading a hiking expedition, conducting a museum tour, or guiding a group through a bustling city, this article will help you make informed decisions about what to wear as a tour guide, ensuring that you not only look professional but also feel comfortable and confident in your role.

Importance of Dressing as a Tour Guide

As a tour guide, your appearance plays a crucial role in establishing trust and credibility with your clients. Dressing appropriately for the role not only shows your professionalism but also signals to your clients that you take your job seriously. Here are several reasons why dressing as a tour guide is important:

  • Creates a Positive First Impression: Your attire is the first thing clients notice about you when they meet you. A well-groomed and appropriately dressed tour guide leaves a positive and lasting impression on clients, setting the tone for the rest of their experience.
  • Reflects Expertise: Your clothing should reflect your knowledge and expertise in the field. It should give clients the confidence that they are in the hands of a knowledgeable guide who can provide accurate and insightful information about the tour destination.
  • Establishes Professionalism: Dressing professionally shows that you take your role seriously and that you value your clients’ trust and investment in the tour. It conveys a sense of professionalism and competence, which is essential for building rapport and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Enhances Group Cohesion: When you dress appropriately for the tour, clients are more likely to see you as a leader and authority figure. This helps establish a sense of cohesion within the group, allowing you to effectively manage and guide your clients throughout the tour.
  • Fosters Client Confidence: Your attire can instill confidence in your clients that they are in safe and capable hands. When clients see you dressed professionally and appropriately for the tour, they feel reassured and more comfortable relying on your guidance.

Overall, the way you dress as a tour guide sets the tone for the entire tour experience. It not only affects how clients perceive you but also influences their overall satisfaction with the tour. By dressing appropriately, you create a positive and professional image, allowing clients to fully trust and engage with you throughout the journey.

Factors to Consider When Choosing Tour Guide Attire

When selecting your tour guide attire, it is important to consider a variety of factors to ensure that your clothing is suitable for the tour and meets the expectations of your clients. Here are some key factors to consider:

  • Type of Tour: The nature of the tour will significantly influence your clothing choices. For outdoor activities such as hiking or camping tours, opt for comfortable and weather-appropriate clothing. For cultural or historical tours, choose attire that respects the traditions and customs of the destination.
  • Season and Weather: The climate and weather conditions at the tour destination should guide your clothing decisions. In warmer months, lightweight and breathable fabrics are ideal, while layered clothing may be necessary for cooler temperatures. Consider the potential for rain or sunshine and plan accordingly.
  • Client Expectations and Demographics: It’s essential to understand the expectations and preferences of your clients. For example, if your clients are expecting a more formal experience, dress accordingly. Similarly, consider the demographic of your clients – their age, cultural background, and interests – to ensure your attire resonates with them.
  • Practicality and Comfort: Tour guiding often involves physical activity and long hours on your feet. Choose clothing that allows ease of movement and provides comfort throughout the day. Opt for breathable fabrics, flexible waistbands, and appropriate footwear to ensure comfort and practicality.
  • Cultural Appropriateness: When leading tours in different regions or countries, it is crucial to respect and adhere to local cultural norms. Familiarize yourself with any dress codes or cultural sensitivities to ensure that your attire is appropriate and respectful. Avoid clothing that may be considered offensive or disrespectful.
  • Visibility and Identification: As a tour guide, you need to be easily recognizable by your clients. Consider wearing a badge or a tour guide uniform that clearly identifies you. This helps establish your authority and ensures that your clients can easily spot you in a crowded area.

By taking these factors into consideration, you can choose tour guide attire that aligns with the nature of the tour, meets client expectations, and promotes comfort and professionalism. Remember, finding the right balance between practicality and cultural appropriateness is essential to ensure an enjoyable and respectful tour experience for everyone involved.

Dress Code Suggestions for Different Types of Tours

When leading different types of tours, it’s important to dress appropriately to fit the theme and activities involved. Here are some dress code suggestions for various types of tours:

  • Outdoor Adventure Tours: If you’re leading hiking, camping, or adventure tours, prioritize comfort and practicality. Opt for moisture-wicking, breathable fabrics that provide protection against the elements. Choose lightweight and quick-drying clothing for warm weather and layer up with thermal or waterproof gear for colder conditions. Don’t forget to wear a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen for sun protection.
  • Cultural or Historical Tours: When leading tours that involve visiting cultural sites, museums, or historical landmarks, it’s important to dress respectfully. Consider wearing more formal attire, such as collared shirts or blouses, paired with trousers or skirts. Avoid overly casual or revealing clothing. Respect any dress codes that may be applicable at specific sites, such as covering your shoulders or removing your shoes.
  • City Tours: City tours often require a balance between comfort and style. Opt for smart-casual attire, such as a collared shirt or blouse paired with well-fitting pants or a skirt. Choose comfortable footwear for long walks, such as sneakers or flats. Layering is key for varying weather conditions, so bring a lightweight jacket or cardigan that matches your outfit.
  • Water-based Tours: For tours that involve activities like boat trips, kayaking, or snorkeling, choose clothing that can get wet and dry quickly. Consider wearing swimwear or quick-drying shorts and a rash guard. Don’t forget to bring a hat, sunglasses, and water shoes to protect your feet and provide traction on wet surfaces.
  • Food and Wine Tours: Food and wine tours often involve visiting restaurants or wineries, so it’s important to dress slightly more formal. Opt for business casual attire, such as a collared shirt or blouse with trousers or a dress. Choose comfortable footwear for walking and ensure your clothing is not restrictive, as you may be sampling various dishes.

Remember, these suggestions serve as a general guideline, and it’s important to adapt your clothing choices based on specific tour requirements and cultural considerations. Always prioritize comfort, practicality, and respecting the local customs and expectations of your clients.

Tips for Comfortable and Practical Footwear Options

As a tour guide, your feet are your most important asset. You’ll be spending long hours on your feet, walking, and exploring with your clients. Therefore, it’s crucial to choose footwear that is not only comfortable but also practical. Here are some tips for selecting the right shoes:

  • Comfort over Style: While it’s important to look presentable, prioritize comfort over style when it comes to footwear. Look for shoes that provide ample support, cushioning, and flexibility. Avoid high heels, as they can cause discomfort and fatigue over prolonged periods of walking.
  • Choose the Right Fit: Ill-fitting shoes can lead to blisters, discomfort, and foot pain. Make sure to measure your feet accurately and try on shoes before purchasing. Look for shoes with a roomy toe box that allows your toes to wiggle without restriction. Ensure that the shoes have a secure and adjustable closure system, such as laces or straps.
  • Consider the Terrain: The type of tour and terrain you’ll be navigating will dictate the type of footwear you need. For city tours or indoor activities, opt for comfortable walking shoes or sneakers with good traction. For outdoor adventures, such as hiking or exploring rough terrain, invest in sturdy and supportive hiking boots or trail shoes.
  • Test the Shoes: Before taking your new shoes on a tour, take them for a test walk to ensure they’re comfortable and don’t cause any discomfort or rubbing. Wear them around the house or on short walks to break them in and make any necessary adjustments.
  • Consider Climate and Weather: Take into account the climate and weather conditions of the tour destination when selecting footwear. For hot and humid environments, choose breathable shoes with moisture-wicking properties. In wet or rainy conditions, opt for waterproof or water-resistant shoes that provide protection from the elements.
  • Bring Spare Shoes: It’s always a good idea to have an extra pair of shoes with you, especially on longer tours or multi-day trips. Having a backup pair allows you to give your feet a break and switch out shoes if needed. It also comes in handy if your primary shoes get wet or muddy.

Remember, taking care of your feet is essential for your well-being as a tour guide. By choosing comfortable and practical footwear, you’ll not only be able to navigate various terrains with ease but also ensure that you’re able to focus on delivering an exceptional tour experience for your clients.

Accessories to Enhance the Tour Guide Attire

Accessories can play a significant role in enhancing your tour guide attire, adding functionality and style to your overall look. Here are some accessories that can elevate your outfit and improve your performance as a tour guide:

  • Headwear: A hat or cap not only provides sun protection but also adds a touch of style to your ensemble. Choose a hat that suits the type of tour and the climate you’ll be in. A wide-brimmed hat is perfect for outdoor tours, while a stylish cap can work well for city or cultural tours.
  • Badge or ID: Wear a visible badge or identification that clearly identifies you as a tour guide. This helps clients easily recognize you in crowded areas and establishes your authority as the leader of the tour.
  • Sunglasses: Protect your eyes from the sun’s rays and reduce glare by wearing a pair of sunglasses. Opt for a stylish and functional pair that suits your face shape and provides adequate UV protection.
  • Bag or Backpack: A durable and practical bag or backpack is essential for carrying tour essentials such as water bottles, guidebooks, maps, and first aid kits. Choose a bag with multiple compartments and comfortable straps to distribute the weight evenly.
  • Watch: A reliable and easily readable watch is invaluable for keeping track of time during the tour. Whether it’s ensuring punctuality or sticking to the tour itinerary, a watch keeps you on track and allows you to provide a smooth and seamless tour experience for your clients.
  • Camera: As a tour guide, you might need to take photos or capture memorable moments for your clients. Carrying a lightweight and high-quality camera allows you to document the tour and create lasting memories.
  • Communication Device: Depending on the size and nature of your tour, a communication device such as a walkie-talkie or smartphone can be helpful in staying connected with your clients and other guides. It allows for clear communication and quick coordination, ensuring a well-organized and efficient tour.

Remember, while accessories can enhance your tour guide attire, it’s essential not to overdo it. Strike a balance between functionality and style, and ensure that your accessories do not hinder your performance as a tour guide. Choose items that serve a purpose and complement your overall look, allowing you to provide a professional and enjoyable experience for your clients.

Cultural Considerations for Tour Guide Dressing

When leading tours in different regions or countries, it is crucial to be mindful of the local culture and dress appropriately to show respect and avoid inadvertently causing offense. Here are some cultural considerations to keep in mind when dressing as a tour guide:

  • Research and Learn: Take the time to research and understand the cultural norms and expectations regarding attire in the destination you’ll be touring. Familiarize yourself with any specific dress codes or customs, especially when visiting religious sites or conservative communities.
  • Modesty: In many cultures, modesty is highly valued. Dress modestly by opting for clothing that covers your shoulders, knees, and cleavage. Avoid wearing revealing or form-fitting clothing that may be considered inappropriate or offensive.
  • Traditional Attire: Consider wearing traditional or traditional-inspired clothing that aligns with the local culture, if appropriate and respectful to do so. This can enhance the tour experience and show your appreciation for the local heritage.
  • Color Symbolism: Be aware of any cultural significance attached to specific colors. In some cultures, certain colors may have religious or traditional associations. Avoid wearing colors that may be considered offensive or inappropriate, and opt for neutrals or culturally significant colors when appropriate.
  • Footwear Etiquette: Some cultures have customs regarding footwear. Before entering certain places, such as temples or private homes, you may be required to remove your shoes. Be prepared by wearing socks or bringing slip-on footwear that can be easily and respectfully removed.
  • Head Coverings: In certain religious or cultural contexts, it may be appropriate or required to cover your head as a sign of respect. Familiarize yourself with the customs and expectations, and consider having a scarf or head covering available for such situations.
  • Jewelry and Symbols: Be mindful of the jewelry and symbols you wear, as they may have cultural or religious significance. Avoid wearing items that may be considered disrespectful or offensive to the local culture or religion.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: As a tour guide, it’s essential to be adaptable and sensitive to cultural variations. Be open to adjustments in your attire based on specific cultural requirements or client preferences, while still maintaining professionalism and comfort.

By being culturally sensitive and dressing appropriately, you show respect for the local customs and traditions. This not only enhances the tour experience for your clients but also helps foster positive interactions and connections with the local community.

Dressing appropriately as a tour guide is essential for creating a positive and professional impression, establishing credibility, and ensuring client satisfaction. By considering factors such as the type of tour, climate, client expectations, and cultural sensitivities, you can choose attire that aligns with the nature of the tour and meets the needs of your clients.

Remember to prioritize comfort and practicality in your footwear choices, as you’ll be spending long hours on your feet. Accessories can also enhance your tour guide attire, providing functionality and adding a stylish touch. However, it’s important not to overdo it and to strike a balance that allows you to perform your duties effectively.

Lastly, cultural considerations play a significant role in tour guide dressing. Respecting local customs, dress codes, and traditions shows a deep appreciation for the culture and fosters positive interactions with clients and the local community. Being adaptable and flexible shows your willingness to embrace different cultural norms.

By carefully selecting your attire, taking into account comfort, practicality, and cultural sensitivities, you can confidently lead tours and provide an exceptional experience for your clients. Dressing as a tour guide not only reflects your professionalism but also ensures that you are well-equipped to guide and inspire your clients on their adventures.

Carrie Bradshaw Invented the Perfect Summer Outfit, and We're Still Wearing it 25 Years Later

Of course she did.

Despite her outlandish wardrobe, a calendar full of fabulous events, and the unrealistic apartment situation, we all see a little bit of ourselves in Carrie Bradshaw. The fictional character has acted as the blueprint for many a New York City transplant since Sex and the City debuted in 1998. And if you've never taken inspiration from her closet, at the very least, she probably taught you who Manolo Blahnik was.

Maybe it's her whimsy and love of color. Perhaps it's her penchant for a visible bra strap. Whatever the reason, it seems like Carrie's outfits come back every summer, making the yearly rounds on Pinterest and Instagram. But, thanks to season two of And Just Like That ... and the original show's 25th anniversary , this year she's more top-of-mind than ever.

Sure, Carrie has her fair share of over-the-top outfits that are burned into our brains, but in 2023 fashion girlies on TikTok are pulling inspiration from one of her most understated looks. Enter the "Carrie Bradshaw formula" that's taking the app by storm.

The outfit in question appears in season three, episode 10 of Sex and the City. Bradshaw is walking Aiden's dog as an excuse to talk to Mr. Big, who she's currently having an affair with. She wears a sheer white top with billowing sleeves that are shirred at the elbows and neckline. Under the top is a red bra that matches her red mules perfectly, and she finishes the outfit with navy track shorts. It's probably one of her lowest moments emotionally, but there's no denying she looks incredible.

TikToker @hanselkai dubbed this look the “Carrie Bradshaw summer outfit formula,” which she defines as wearing a feminine blouse, loose athletic shorts, and “some shoes that, to an untrained eye, does not make sense with the shorts.” Those could be dainty flats, preppy loafers, or in Carrie's case, a pair of kitten heels not suited for chasing a dog down the city streets.

Though Bradshaw’s accessory was a dog on a leash, any mini handbag would complete this look. The outfit is similar to the unspoken “something tight” formula—that is, pairing a tight shirt with loose pants or vice versa—except, instead of focusing on fit, you basically offset the ultra-girly vibes in your outfit with athletic shorts.

@devonleecarlson /Instagram

While it's just now making its rounds on TikTok, contrasting girly and sporty elements is a tried-and-true formula that cool girls have been turning to for years. Influencers like Devon Lee Carlson and Imani Randolph have often been photographed in sporty shorts, ruffly feminine tops, and Chanel slingbacks.

There’s also an undeniable cool factor to a look that says, yes, I own fabulous shoes, but I just don’t have the energy to wear uncomfortable pants . Not to pin everything on COVID, but after years of pairing biker shorts with Zoom-ready tops, it makes sense that the fancy-on-top-relaxed-on-bottom Carrie Bradshaw-inspired outfit formula is making a comeback. Plus, with retro varsity style popping back into fashion this year, it was only a matter of time before TikTokers would call on an outfit that’s a mix of the old-school track star and the flower child.

How to Get the Look

Although many Carrie Bradshaw summer outfit formula videos suggest wearing a frilly white top with a dark-colored athletic bottom, you can wear this trend however you please. If you’re after more of a dark bimbo vibe , pair a black flowing top with reflective black or grey Muay Thai shorts. If you’re still pining after this past winter’s blokecore trend , consider opting for a funky tank top to go with your favorite Manchester United soccer shorts.

If you want to channel la dolce vita without leaving the country, pair a romantic Italian maiden blouse with athletic shorts that feature cool feminine accents. As for shoes, go for anything fancy and comfortable—Mary Janes, clogs, strappy sandals, wedges, or ballet flats all do the trick.

Outfit #5 – Athleisure For another super comfortable, low-key outfit, go for straight leg joggers and a comfy tee. These Stylus Pintuck Joggers with their straight leg silhouette have 4.8 stars ! Reviews say these joggers are SUPER COMFY , wash well , and stretch with movement, and they have an elastic waistband, making them GREAT for sightseeing in the city! Reviews also say to size down. These come in  3 colors and are just $21 !

If you need a layer, add the St . John’s Bay Midweight Denim Jacket or the Stylus Lightweight Bomber Jacket .

For footwear, I opted for the Arizona Fireside Footbed Sandals , which I own. They are fairly comfortable, really affordable, and come in 7 colors, including a leopard print version. See them all HERE . You can see them on me HERE .

Clothes for Traveling and Sightseeing Cute and Casual: black square neck tank + light brown square neck tank + denim shorts + tan backpack + black fanny pack + black footbed birkenstocks + taupe footbed birkenstocks

Outfit #6 – Cute & Casual Last is another cute and casual look, and I’m showing two versions of it. One shows the a.n.a Square Neck Tank Top and the other has the black version of the a.n.a Square Neck Sleeveless Tank Top which is super similar but slightly different. I paired them with a.n.a High Rise 5″ Denim Shorts , which come in 3 colors . Again, while I haven’t tried them personally, a.n.a tends to have jeans and shorts that are pretty stretchy!

For an alternative to shorts, try the a.n.a Boyfriend Jeans , which I personally own. They are fairly thick and help you feel secure while being stretchy at the same time! I wear those in size 4, as they run fairly large. You can see them on me HERE .

I’m showing two versions of this outfit with the same top in different colors and how I’d accessorize each accordingly.

Those are a bunch of outfits you can wear during a trip to sightsee in a new city. And of course, if you’re not going on a trip, you can still wear these to feel cute and put together this spring, wherever you are!

Outfit Ideas for Traveling – 5 Outfit Formulas To Maximize Every Piece!

in Personal Style , Travel Style on 02/03/23

I know packing can be challenging. Trust me, I’ve always been an over packer until I had no choice but to learn how to pack when we started living on the road full time. I’ve been living out of a suitcase since September 2021, so believe me when I tell you that I know what works and what doesn’t. That’s exactly why I wanted to write this post and share some outfit ideas for traveling and useful outfit formulas to help you create your own version of any of these looks with pieces you probably already have in your closet!

Of course a lot of these following outfits don’t work for all kinds of weather, but I do hope to at least provide inspiration and value on how to think about how to create your own outfit ideas for traveling . And also know that you can apply any of these tips to your every day life too!

Ready to learn how to create your own outfit ideas for traveling? Let’s do it!

How to start thinking about your own outfit ideas for traveling, outfit formula #1: any button down shirt + dress + sneakers or flat sandals, outfit formula #2: button down shirt + bottom piece of your choice + sneakers (or flat sandals), outfit formula #3: keep it simple t-shirt + pants or midi skirt + sneakers or sandals (accessorize accordingly), outfit formula #4: a t-shirt dress + sneakers or sandals (that’s it), outfit formula #5: t-shirt or cami + long cardigan + pants + sneakers, bonus tip: pack your denim jacket, tips to help you pack better:, related travel style and capsule wardrobe posts you may also like:.

Estimated reading time: 15 minutes

First things first; think about your destination.

Weather, season, what type of activities you’ll be doing, what type of clothes you’re comfortable with, etc. Then you add to the mix your own personal style and how much space you have in your suitcase. I always recommend packing light . Travel days are hard as they are already, so why add a heavy suitcase(s) to the mix? Especially if you are not going to wear a lot of these things! That’s why it’s good to create your own outfit ideas for traveling way in advance.

I love writing about seasonal capsule wardrobes and about minimalism in general, but a couple of weeks ago I wrote a post with a 7-piece capsule wardrobe checklist that I really think you can find useful if you don’t know where to start!

There are 7 pieces I bring with me all the time and you will see them a lot in the upcoming photos styled in many different ways. Those pieces are:

  • A linen white button down shirt | Another GREAT linen option
  • A white T-shirt | (Best T-shirts and basic pieces in general are from this brand)
  • Leather White Sneakers (best sustainable sneakers without a doubt. Me and my husband both have these!). The problem with these is that you have to pre-order them. If you don’t like leather ones, here’s the link to the white canvas ones and I also like this brand a lot! (look for the Royale style)
  • A plain midi skirt (mine is sold out but this is where I usually get my skirts )
  • Wide leg pants ( comfiest and best fitting pants are from here )
  • Black Comfy Pants ( these are the best pants in the world!)
  • A plain crewneck sweater | My favorite sustainable sweaters are from this brand! It’s expensive but worth it, BUT this brand is also sustainable, fits well and it’s more affordable.

Outfit Ideas for Traveling by Ways of Style

Outfit Formulas To Help You Create Your Own Travel Looks

Here are five outfit formulas I follow for most of my travel outfits . We just got back from spending 3 months in Turkey and I only brought one medium suitcase and didn’t buy anything.

So, I went back and looked at all the outfits I wore in Turkey for the past 3 months and that’s why I decided to write this post with the most basic (but still cute and stylish) outfit ideas for traveling . Because I noticed I really don’t have that many outfit formulas… I always follow the same rules but with different pieces and I was able to create over 60 different outfits in 3 months (without buying a single thing!). But more on that in the next blog post :)

So, without further ado, here are my top 5 fool-proof outfit formulas for creating cute travel outfits all the time:

I always have 2 or 3 button shirts with me. I packed 3 for our recent Turkey trip; one green one, one white linen one and a chambray one. Button down shirts are your best friends when traveling! And this applies no matter where you go and for your every day life. They are so useful!

You can tie them around your waist, wear them as a beach cover up, layer them in many different ways and so much more! Here are some outfit ideas for traveling with a button down shirt following the outfit formula above. It’s simple, you only need the shirt, a dress and sneakers or flat sandals depending on the occasion.

Here’s how it looks like:

Cute Outfit Ideas for Traveling with a button down shirt

Check out this post “Capsule Wardrobe Checklist” for more ways I styled the same white button down shirt following the same outfit formula.

Again with the button down shirt , yes! They are that good!

This time I want to inspire you to style it with any bottom piece of your choice. Really, it can be a skirt, pants, shorts, jeans… Anything! I am really passionate about showing all the different ways you can style a basic piece like this one! Can you see why I travel with 3 different button down shirts?

Here you have 3 examples:

Cute Outfit Ideas for Traveling with a button down shirt

I never travel without at least one white and one black T-shirt. Actually, I always travel with at least 3 different white t-shirts . They are so versatile!

I know you may think they are not the most practical because they are white, but I still insist, they are great for traveling and they make it so easy to create your own outfit ideas for traveling!

You can style them casually yes, but you can also dress them up with a jacket or the right accessories. Never underestimate the power of a good T-shirt!!

Outfit Ideas for Traveling with a White T-shirt

This is my favorite brand for T-shirts and basic pieces in general. They are excellent quality and not too expensive. Plus, they are sustainable too!

This is my way of saying that you need a T-shirt dress in your life! Something simple, good quality and not too crazy. I originally was going to get a black one, but went for this green option last minute and I’m so glad I did!

It’s so easy to style. I wore it to go out with sandals and a denim jacket , for easy hikes with my favorite travel birkenstocks and with white sneakers for an easy breezy, yet cute look! (browse the best sustainable sneakers here!)

Easy and Cute Outfit Ideas for Traveling with a T-shirt dress

This is another solid outfit formula that you can use to explore a new city and it’s also great for travel days!

Our trip started super warm, but as we headed east and then north, it got a lot colder so I had to get creative with the layers. I wish I had packed more sweaters/long cardigans honestly, but they take so much space out of my suitcase. That’s why I only packed a few. But hey, I was able to create enough cute travel outfits.

Here are two looks following the outfit formula above:

Cute Outfit Ideas for Traveling with a long cardigan

Best sustainable long cardigans and sweaters are from this brand! They are an investment, but so so worth it!

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know how much I love denim jackets!

I only have one and I bring it everywhere with me! Why? Because you can pretty much add it over any look. It’s an easy way to look stylish and well put together. Denim jackets go with everything! I recommend having a medium washed one like this one.

Cute Outfit Ideas for Traveling with a denim jacket

  • Use compressible packing cubes! These are my favorite because they are compressible so they do help you save a ton of space and keep your suitcase organized. This is how I organize them: tops, bottoms, sweaters (if applies), workout clothes, beach stuff, underwear and dresses. These are the ones I have and I love them so much!!! Plus, the company who makes them is owned by other travel bloggers, so we love to support them in any way we can :)
  • Never underestimate the power of an all-black outfit! I made it a point to pack same colored tops and bottoms. It doesn’t have to be always black, but black is so easy! I will try a different color for our next adventure, to share with you more ways on how you can do this too! Here are a couple of examples with black:

outfit for city tour

  • This one might be obvious, but make sure your top and bottoms have colors in common. For example, I packed 2 black bottoms, so I made sure some of my tops were black or at least had some black. This way you can really maximize what’s in your suitcase by mixing & matching. When you pack a lot of neutrals and just a few prints, it makes it so much easier to put pieces together! Here are some ways I pair my printed bottoms with striped pieces or simply with a black top. It’s very important to remember to pack prints that work well together with each other.

outfit for city tour

  • Before you put anything in your suitcase, make sure you can style every piece in at least in 3-4 different ways. I like to organize everything in piles and look around at all the other pieces I’m packing to see if they work well together. If I see something I can only style once, then I don’t pack it. This is specially useful with shoes! You’ll be surprised with how much you can edit out of your suitcase by doing this before you put everything in. And you will save so much space!
  • Pick 3-4 main colors. The colors I choose for this Turkey trip were: Black, white and green. Then you add a couple of grays, denim pieces, prints and cute accessories like headbands, hats and earrings and you can pretty much mix and match all the pieces together!! For my next trip I’m going to try and pick different colors to spice things up a little bit and show you guys, so stay tuned :)

In this article, we will answer these questions and give you some tips on what to wear in Mexico City.

What to Consider When Packing for Mexico City

Before we dive into specific outfits and recommendations, let’s go over some general factors that you should consider when packing for Mexico City.

Mexico City has a mild climate year-round, with average temperatures ranging from 12°C (54°F) in January to 18°C (64°F) in May. However, the weather can vary depending on the altitude, time of day, and season. The city is located at an elevation of 2,250 meters (7,380 feet) above sea level, which means it can get chilly at night and in the early morning. The rainy season lasts from June to September, with frequent showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. The dry season lasts from October to May, with sunny and clear days.

Mexico City is a cosmopolitan and modern city that embraces diversity and creativity. You will find people wearing all kinds of styles and colors, from traditional Mexican clothing to trendy streetwear. However, there are some cultural norms and expectations that you should be aware of when dressing in Mexico City. For example, Mexicans tend to dress more formally and conservatively than Americans or Europeans, especially for work or social events. They also tend to avoid wearing shorts, flip-flops, or tank tops in public places, as they are considered too casual or inappropriate. Additionally, some religious sites and museums may have dress codes that require covering your shoulders and knees.

Another factor that you should consider when packing for Mexico City is what kind of activities you plan to do during your stay. Are you going to explore the historical center and visit museums and monuments? Are you going to enjoy the nightlife and party at bars and clubs? Are you going to hike the nearby volcanoes or take a day trip to a nearby town? Depending on your itinerary, you may need different types of clothing and accessories to suit your needs.

What to Wear in Mexico City by Season

Now that we have covered some general factors that you should consider when packing for Mexico City, let’s look at some specific outfits and recommendations for each season.

The Bus Tour Edition: Helpful Elements of What to Wear in the City

I appreciate each and every share. Thank you!

Print top and skirt

There are so many ideas of what to wear in the city. It all depends on your plans and the season. Since summer can mean lots of different kinds of trips, we decided to give you options. We started with the beach vacation and 3 different events that might happen there. Then we showcased a rustic trip along with those type of activities. Now we are heading out and thinking about what to wear in the city. Lesley is talking about how she would dress for a bus tour with helpful ideas. This comes after Charlotte dressed for a trip to a Broadway show which would be great for any type of evening activity. A day of walking and exploring was the theme for my outfit.

Quote of the day: “The desire to improve does not have to come from a place of self-loathing.” James Clear

By this stage of the game, we have all been places and packed for these trips. Yet I still think we can always learn more about the essentials to take and how to make it work for us. That doesn’t mean we have been doing it wrong, per se, but if we can make it even better, that’s the goal! For instance, I never realized how much easier it would be to wear a midi dress on the plane especially when going to the bathroom as I talked about in this blog post .

Lesley’s Idea of What to Wear in the City

Lesley wore a favorite type of outfit for this idea of taking a sight seeing bus tour as part of our city vacation. She threw on a skort, print top, and comfy sandals for a summer day. Of course it’s not just about what she’s wearing, but also what she’s carrying along for the day.

Do you ever take those sight seeing bus tours?? Sure, they can be touristy, but it’s also a great way to cover more ground and learn about the sights from a knowledgeable guide. Don’t forget they can be a chance to meet new people and share travel adventures.

Skorts may not be the “trendy” piece of clothing, but they can be such a functional item for so many activities. Since it looks like a skirt it seems a tad dressier. Yet, it’s modest for sitting and climbing on and off the buses.

Summer trip with what to wear in the city

A Print Top

Even if you aren’t a fan of prints most days, they can certainly be advantageous sometimes. It’s not different than my rationale for my print top when horseback riding . It can camouflage any stains along with hiding sweat marks. Lesley explains that this top would be perfect for what to wear in the city on a bus tour because it’s flutterly (her word, LOL). Because it’s not tight and form fitting, it’s cool yet modest and protects her from the sun when she is outside.

Insider tip : Don’t just grab a print t-shirt. Find a top that has more interest and fun. For instance, Lesley’s has a couple of buttons down the front. I’ve found many in the widget at the bottom of the post.

Print top for what to wear in the city

It’s one thing to accessorize for style and fun, but for a day exploring, you need a couple of elements that are functional. One of those things is a large tote. This is something I try to have as part of my airplane outfit, and then it works for days of touring like this. The secret?? Also put your smaller, hands free purse in the tote, so on these sight seeing buses when you get off for a short time, your “valuables” are close by, yet you can leave your tote on the bus.

What’s in Lesley’s tote besides her smaller purse? One thing is her cardigan sweater to fight off the chill when she goes in a restaurant or historic building. It’s also very handy to carry a small umbrella depending on the weather. (I can’t tell you how many times we’ve gotten caught unprepared in a downpour in NYC).

As for the hat, it can come in handy for many reasons. I recently wrote about 4 tips to make hat wearing eas y, if you are still on the fence about them. Heck, you could even find a packable one and throw it in your tote too!

Shoes that are for walking

Shoes Made for Walking

If it’s one thing we have all experienced on vacation, it’s tired feet. That makes the search for comfy shoes even more important. It’s also another great reason to check out the sight seeing bus tours, haha! Yet, even on the bus tours, you don’t want your feet to hurt, so the addition of good walking shoes is so important.

And Lesley is showing off this pair of sandals that have adjustable velcro in case your feet swell. Even many of Walking Cradles sandals have this detail and it’s a smart design especially for the summertime.

Even though I’d been to the Vatican previously, re-visiting on my 10 day birthday trip to Paris and Italy last year was absolutely magical.

I felt so fortunate to have been linked up with The Roman Guy tours . Not only were there were only 3 people on my Vatican tour versus the groups of 25-50 around us but my guide Nina was a local fashionista! After the tour ended, she gave me the inside scoop on what to wear to the Vatican plus shared her tips on how to dress like an Italian woman. LOVED her!

These tips on what to wear to the Vatican are based on her fashion savvy Roman style. Keep reading to find out why they are!

What to Wear to the Vatican

Generally speaking when entering any religious building modesty should be considered. However, depending on varying factors this may or may not be enforced or practiced.

Per local guidelines, when visiting the Vatican please cover your knees and shoulders.

Even though Roman summers may be blistering hot, when you step inside the Vatican Museum and St Peters Basilica it is much cooler inside than outside so you don’t have to worry about overheating. Here are a few ideas on what to wear to the Vatican in the summer heat.

Jacket | Dress | Bracelet | Blouse | Bag | Sandals | Pants | Scarf | Necklace

Vatican travel outfit ideas

The general idea is to wear a breezy long dress or trousers (for knee coverage) and pair with a light removable layer such as a denim jacket or cardigan you can wear to cover your shoulders once inside. Jeans and a cute sleeved top are perfect when the weather is moderate.

The rest of the year, you’ll be fine with long sleeves and jeans. Just be mindful of low necklines, sheer fabrics, and clothing that’s overly fitting in certain places.

Tip:  Versatile is the key to a  travel capsule wardrobe , pack items which you can easily mix and match!

About my Vatican Tour

If the name Roman Guy sounds familiar it might be because the owner proposed to his girlfriend on Travel Fashion Girl! Can you believe it? How cool is that!

I explored the Ancient City on my own when I visited Rome previously in 2008. This time around, I was happy to try a couple of city tours with The Roman Guy including a visit to the Vatican and their Golf Cart City Tour which I highly recommend – it helps save your feet from going into overdrive and it’s a nice way to get your bearings around Rome!

This company specializes in intimate local group tours and their Vatican group has no more than a dozen people at a time (others had 40-50). It felt like I had my own personal guide. Plus, you get to go inside the Vatican a whole hour before it’s open to the public. Kind of awesome!

I won’t lie, though. My fashionable Vatican tour guide Nina did make it extra special because not only did she have a PHD in post classical archaeology and a master in Christian Archaeology but she is also extremely friendly and personable. It was like hanging out with one of your favorite gal pals!

Insider travel tips

  • March and October are Nina’s favorite months to enjoy Rome. March because it’s sunny but not hot and the end of September to early October has the best weather without the high costs or swarms of tourists.
  • She says that Cappuccino and Cornetto are the perfect roman breakfast or a simple Coffee and Croissant.
  • Her perfect travel outfit for the Vatican? What she was wearing that day: Denim Jacket, Maxi Dress, and Birkenstocks styled to perfection!
Remember: No matter where you go there are always travelers with varying levels of respect and courtesy with regards to their choice of clothing in religious sites. It is your decision whether or not you wish to adhere to or respect the clothing guidelines of other cultures on your travels. Please read this post for more ideas on how to dress stylishly for conservative countries .

Very helpful information- looking forward to our trip this fall!

Melissa

Great info for those of us who are traveling to see ancient treasures. On my first trip to Italy, I was a little surprised, but then filled with respect, at the dress code for visiting churches. I would love to find your Vatican tour guide – what a wonderful woman! For new visitors: in many cities in Italy, there are street vendors conveniently located near the legendary churches that sell pashminas and truly beautiful lacy wraps for visitors.

Hi Melissa, so pleased you enjoyed the article! Thank you for sharing your travel tip for Italy with us, this is really helpful to know. Happy travels! ?

Elizabeth Morgan

This is super helpful and matches up with our experience there. They definitely told us that our knees and shoulders needed to be covered up. Where are you planning to travel next?

alex

Hi Elizabeth thanks I’m glad it was helpful! Doing a but of local traveling in England then headed to South America ?

As someone who first became obsessed with the genre thanks to Girls’ Generation , I’m glad I’m finally going to be able to experience being in the same (giant) room as my bias. But with all these concerts on our calendars comes a very important question: What do I wear?

Because each (meticulously styled) soloist and group has their unique vibe — from IU’ s whimsical coquette aesthetic to Itzy ’s cool-girl attitude — you might want to coordinate your own look to match. So whether you’ve been a hardcore stan since the early days or just discovered the genre, keep reading to discover five on-point outfit recommendations for five of this year’s most exciting K-pop tours.

Enhypen Fate Plus Tour

Kimchi Blue Madison Semi-Sheer Lace Blouse

The main aesthetic for any Enhypen concert (on now through May) is light and dark academia. We’re talking short plaid skirts, lace tops (add a cropped blazer if it’s chilly), and black loafers — especially if they’re Prada. True stans know the members are ambassadors for the brand , so any Prada accessory or beauty item will put you on another level.

Itzy Born To Be Tour

AFRM x Revolve Iris Top

Itzy’s style in two words? “Cool girl . ” There are so many outfit possibilities for the upcoming Born to Be tour in June that you really can’t go wrong with anything you feel confident in. But we’d recommend a trendy cargo pant, a structured top, your favorite Dr. Martens platform boots, and layering all your silver necklaces.

IU H.E.R. World Tour

Petal + Pup Ariel Maxi Dress

The key to the perfect IU concert outfit is to emulate soloist Lee Ji-eun’s delicate style — the more feminine the better. Our recommendation for any stop on this tour — which begins in July and runs through August — is this cream floral maxi dress, delicate white sandals from Lisa Says Gah that are still low enough to dance in, and adorable mini bows.

Wheein In the Mood [Beyond] Tour

We The Free Tinsley Baggy High-Rise Jeans

When it comes to Mamamoo singer Wheein’s solo tour beginning in May, anything goes. The outfit we’d sport features a balance of sporty and sweet with high-waisted dark jeans, a crochet pastel halter top, and a pair of high-top Converse embroidered with flowers.

TXT Act: Promise World Tour

Dolls Kill X Strawberry Shortcake Plus Ladybug Summer Corset Mini Dress

Similarly, Tomorrow X Together (or TXT) stans are all over the fashion spectrum. While you can opt for pretty much anything for the group’s tour dates in May and June, most TXT fans will likely take advantage of the opportunity to don the cutest outfit at their disposal, like this strawberry-shortcake corset dress and a pair of block-heel Mary Janes.

Every Look From Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour, From Custom Catsuits to Disco-Inspired Couture

Beyonce performs wearing Balenciaga

Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour began with a bang in Stockholm and it hasn't slowed down since. The highly-anticipated show has featured inventive set design, a decades-spanning setlist, and a plethora of standout style moments—from to archival pieces to custom looks and nearly everything in between. The star’s wardrobe has combined her signature style with the visual ethos of the album Renaissance ( think lots of sequins, silver, catsuits, and the occasional bee-inspired look). Beyoncé has also been wearing looks from brands specific to the city she’s performing in—for the UK leg of her tour she wore picks from the London-based Mary Katrantzou and Robert Wun while in Marseille, France she opted for a look by designer Simon Porte Jacquemus.

The singer has donned looks from both established brands—Valentino, Mugler, lots of Alexander McQueen, among others—as well as smaller labels like Anrealage and Brandon Blackwood. Balmain catsuits and mini dresses have been a constant throughout her tour wardrobe (in March, she partnered with creative director Olivier Rousteing to design a Renaissance couture line for the brand ) as well as imaginative pieces from Loewe. Beyoncé began the tour in Europe which has seen her in London, Paris, and other cities with the last being Warsaw, Poland on June 28th. She will then head to North America with her last date coming in New Orleans, Louisiana on September 27th. Needless to say, there will be countless more style moments to come—so, to make sure you don’t miss one look, keep checking back here as we keep track of everything Beyoncé has worn during the Renaissance world tour.

Leave it Beyoncé to make comouflage cool. During the Toronto stop of her tour, the singer wore a fully patterned ensemble from her brand Ivy Park. The look featured a cropped jacket, over-the-knee boots and a plunging bodysuit.

Beyoncé wears a custom Balmain look during her 'Renaissance' world tour in Warsaw, Poland.

For the final stop of the European leg, Beyoncé went with a slew of sequined and silver ensembles while performing in Warsaw, Poland. This look, by Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing, featured a dramatic bodice that cascaded down her side as well as a daring slit at the skirt. The singer rounded out her look with velvet gloves and a pair of Manolo Blahnik heels.

Beyoncé wears a custom Richard Quinn look during her 'Renaissance' world tour in Warsaw, Poland.

While Beyoncé has had some pretty avant-garde outfits, this Richard Quinn number may be her most “Alien Superstar” yet. The look featured legging-style pants with large crystal embellishments as well as a peplum-inspired top finished with similar adornments. However, the focal point of the ensemble is certainly the UFO-like headpiece that obscured everything but the singer’s eyes.

Beyoncé wears a custom Daily Paper look during her 'Renaissance' world tour in Warsaw, Poland.

Outfitting an entire crew and Beyoncé is certainly no small feat, but global brand Daily Paper seemed to be up for the task. During the "Opulence" section of her concert in Warsaw, Beyoncé donned an embellished black jumpsuit and reflective track jacket from the brand—which she paired with knee-high boots and one of her signature top hats. In addition to Beyoncé’s look, Daily Paper designed over 100 custom tracksuits for her crew and dancers, mostly in silver reflective nylon.

Beyoncé wears a custom red hooded mini dress by Carolina Herrera during her Renaissance world tour.

Just one night after sporting a similar hooded piece while in Paris, Beyoncé went with another veiled look, this time, for her concert in Hamburg, Germany. The ensemble is designed by Carolina Herrera creative director Wes Gordon and features a plunging bodysuit, sheer red tights, and a silk hood that connects at the head and arms. Of course, the singer also had on her signature opera gloves and glitzy earrings to round out the look.

Beyoncé wears a custom Ivy Park mini dress and boots for her 'Renaissance' concert in Hamburg, Germa...

Again in Hamburg, the singer chose a look from Ivy Park—one of a wider selection of pieces from an upcoming collection between her brand and Adidas. Naturally, backup dancer’s leotards matched her ruched mini dress and knee-high boots.

Beyoncé performs onstage during the “RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR” in a custom red Ferragamo dress.

Ferragamo’s creative director Maximillian Davis designed this red glittering gown for the singer’s show in Amsterdam. In honor of Juneteenth, Davis was one of several Black designers that Beyoncé wore throughout the show.

Beyoncé performs onstage during the “RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR” in a custom Balmain bodysuit.

This robo-couture custom Balmain look featured silver-plated detailing that paneled the singer’s bodysuit. She paired the piece, which drifted into gloves, with a pair of knee-high boots.

“In the industry where we have to all fight, I want to thank [Beyoncé’s] support last night [to] all the Black designers that had created their own space in this tough industry,” Balmain designer Olivier Rousteing said . “This was the celebration.”

Beyoncé performs onstage during the “RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR” in a custom Off-White look.

This is the second all-red Off-White look worn by Beyoncé during her tour. Her second version, however, featured a shortened silhouette and an accompanying top hat that was designed by the brand’s art and image director Ibrahim Kamara.

Beyoncé wears a custom Balmain catsuit while in Amsterdam.

For her second Balmain look in Amsterdam, Beyoncé went with another iteration of the bee-inspired catsuits we’ve seen repeatedly on her tour thus far. This time, she paired the ensemble with a coordinating top hat rather than her infamous insect-like antena.

Beyoncé wears a custom shattered glass LaQuan Smith bodysuit in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

New York designer LaQuan Smith crafted this silver, shattered glass bodysuit for the singer’s Amsterdam stop. She paired the plunging piece with an equally as disco-worthy cape and heels.

London-based brand Feben outfitted Beyoncé in a color-blocked catsuit. “Thank you for inviting me into your world,” the designer wrote on Instagram . “What an incredible moment to be a part of, and a pivotal one for myself, and my inner child. It means the world to be supported and seen as a Black female designer in the industry.”

Beyoncé wears a custom Ferragamo draped mini dress in Amsterdam.

This deep silver mini dress was the second look from Ferragamo the singer wore in Amsterdam. The look featured ruched detailing that drifted into a train and above-knee boots.

While Beyoncé has, seemingly, unlimited access to a never-ending roster of designers, she went with her own label Ivy Park for this pink look in Amsterdam—and rightly so. Designed by the star herself, the piece featured daring slits, opera-style gloves, and a halter neckline.

“I started designing this collection over a year ago,” she said on Instagram . “I was so engulfed in all things Renaissance and was inspired by Studio 54, Bob Mackie, and the disco era.”

Beyoncé wears a custom Gucci leotard for her Renaissance world tour.

In Amsterdam, the singer went with a custom Gucci corseted leotard. The glitzy piece featured sheer detailing and draped crystal fringe that fell across the bodice area.

Beyoncé wears a custom Iris Van Herpen gown while in Amsterdam.

Naturally, Dutch designer Iris van Herpen was a standout of Beyoncé’s wardrobe for her first night in Amsterdam. The custom look, which took over 700 hours to make, featured a flowing train paired with a sculptural mini dress.

Beyoncé wears a custom Georges Hobeika sheer catsuit during her concert in Cologne, Germany.

Yes, you can always count on Beyoncé to wear a form-fitting catsuit. But this one by Lebanese designer had a handful of eye-catching details. The bodice was composed of various strands of rhinestones and crystals and the sheer portion wrapped entirely around her body (even down to her boots).

Beyoncé wears a custom Jacquemus look during her concert in Marseille, France.

French designer Simon Porte Jacquemus is from Marseille, France so it’s fitting that he outfitted the singer for her tour stop there. Jacquemus, who attended the concert, designed a form-ftting mini dress, boots, and gloves that featured disco ball-esque paillettes.

“[Beyoncé] is the first singer I saw live in Marseille 15 years ago,” he wrote on Instagram . “I’m so happy and proud. What a night in Provence, means a lot.”

Beyoncé wears a custom Alberta Ferretti look during her concert in Marseille, France.

This custom gown by Alebrta Ferretti has an embroidered leotard and a gold draped train that cascades down the singer’s side. Beyoncé wore the eye-catching piece with matching knee-high boots and black opera gloves (which have been a running theme in many of her looks throughout the tour thus far).

Beyoncé wears a custom Stella McCartney look during the Barcelona stop of her Renaissance world tour

Beyoncé went with a sparkling, disco-inspired Stella McCartney dress and stirrup leggings for her concert in Barcelona, Spain. The custom look was made of environmentally friendly materials such as silver lead-free crystals.

“It is a life moment to dress someone as iconic and inspiring as Beyoncé—a visionary pioneer, disruptor, and artist who has worked tirelessly to make the world a better place,” the British designer said. A pair of clear Amina Muaddi heels rounded out the ensemble.

Beyoncé wears a custom Fendi look during the Barcelona stop of her Renaissance world tour

The star wore a custom Fendi leather intarsia catsuit for her show in the Spanish city. It was paired with over-the-knee boots, matching gloves, and an upcycled fur cape inspired by illustrations by Antonio Lopez as seen in Fendi’s spring 2022 collection.

Beyoncé wears a custom Mary Katrantzou look during the London stop of her Renaissance world tour.

For her fifth and final show in London, Beyoncé wore a custom Mary Katrantzou surrealist mini dress with black and gold detailing. The look, meant to resemble a perfume bottle, also featured a custom Stephen Jones bottle top headpiece, latex boots, and gloves.

Beyoncé wears a custom Robert Wun look during the London stop of her Renaissance world tour.

The 41-year-old singer opted for a dramatic “Black Blossom” Robert Wun look. The form-fitting ensemble featured a plunging blazer accented by ruffled sleeves and asymmetrical pleated detailing.

Beyoncé wears a custom Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood look in London.

Beyoncé again went with another British label for her third London show, this time a custom Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood look. The mini latex dress features corset-style detailing and sheer spiral sleeves.

Beyoncé performs onstage during the “RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR” at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Beyoncé wore a custom royal blue Roksanda number for her London show. The piece is a riff of a similar dress from the brand’s fall/winter 2023 collection.

Alexander McQueen has been a staple of Beyoncé’s Renaissance wardrobe thus far. Here, she wore a custom deep red embroidered dress with coordinating boots and opera gloves—an iteration of a similar look from their fall/winter 2023 collection.

Beyoncé wears a silver Paco Rabanne gown during her Renaissance world tour

The signature silver paillettes of Paco Rabanne fit perfectly into the visual aesthetic of Renaissance, so its no surprise the star opted for a piece from the brand. She wore a glitzy custom gown for her show in Paris.

Beyoncé wears a blue Brandon Blackwood gown during her Renaissance world tour.

The 41-year-old looked ethereal in a custom light blue gown by New York brand Brandon Blackwood. She paired the off-the-shoulder number with coordinating opera gloves and silver jewels.

Beyoncé chose a statement-making Off-White look for her London show. The red bodysuit features a bustier-style top and 40,000 red hotfix crystals throughout.

Beyoncé wears a Valentino gown during her Renaissance world tour.

Ditching the catsuits that fill the latter half of her concert, Beyoncé has chosen a series of stunning gowns for the opening segment of her show. Here, she wore a white Valentino dress complete with a train and coordinating opera gloves.

Beyoncé wears David Koma during her Renaissance world tour.

The singer was worn several looks from London-based brand David Koma over the course of her tour—one of them being this asymmetrical mini dress that features glittering fringe and wide shoulders.

Beyoncé wears a silver Loewe top and pants during her Renaissance world tour.

The star has worn a silver two piece set from Loewe for several of her tour stops. On top of the long sleeve, she layered a molded breastplate and rounded out the look will silver boots.

Beyoncé wears Dolce & Gabbana during her Renaissance world tour.

This custom Dolce & Gabbana bodysuit is one of many bee-themed looks that Beyoncé has worn (there’s a reason she’s referred to as the Queen B after all). The piece features black and yellow embroidery as well as coordinating opera gloves.

Beyoncé wears Balmain during her Renaissance world tour.

Beyoncé continued her longstanding relationship with Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing—here, she wore an silver asymmetrical mini dress, thigh high boots, and wraparound sunglasses.

Beyoncé kept the bee theme rolling at the opening night of her tour in Stockholm. She wore a custom Mugler catsuit complete with towering antennas and bug-like sunglasses.

This custom look from Alexander McQueen features bugle bead and crystal anatomical embroidery. Beyoncé wore the piece during the opening night in Stockholm.

This trompe l’oeil Loewe catsuit has become a fan favorite throughout the star’s tour. The piece was custom made by the brand’s creative director Jonathan Anderson and is a play on a similar dress that recently went down the runway.

Beyoncé has worn this silver cutout bodysuit from French brand Courrèges several times thus far.

Beyoncé and her dancers wore colorful David Koma looks for opening night. The ruched dress, which she wore with a reflective jacket, is inspired by the brand’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection.

Beyoncé wore another custom Balmain look, a catsuit complete with the brand’s signature silver embroidery.

Beyoncé donned a color changing robe by Japanese brand Anrealage in what was one of the more experimental looks of the tour. The piece changed colors when exposed to UV lights and revealed a stained glass-like pattern.

Karol G performs during Mañana Sera Bonito LATAM Tour at Estadio Olímpico on March 15, 2024 in Santo Domingo, DR.

Karol G has traveled across Latin America with her Mañana Será Bonito Tour, paying homage to the countries she’s performing in by wearing a special outfit that represents each country’s respective flag colors. It may be a simple wardrobe choice, but it’s thoughtful and attention to detail that really marks the difference.

Throughout her sets, she has a few outfit changes, from anime-inspired, schoolgirl mini-skirts paired with fuzzy snow boots to show-stopping sparkly long dresses with a flower on her hair as an accessory.  She’s also worn flowy cargo pants with cropped T-shirts and a tejano look with cowboy hat and all. The Colombian hitmaker has perfected an aesthetic for this tour that has become an extension of her artistry.

Karol G’s Latin America tour kicked off Feb. 8 in Mexico City, and has made stops in Colombia, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Venezuela and Perú, among other countries. “These last few days have been busy,” the Grammy-winning artist recently wrote on social media . “Between the tour, the recording studio and everything to come, but I feel infinitely happy and grateful for the moment of my life I’m going through!”

According to Billboard Boxscore, in 2023, Karol — who was honored with woman of the year at  Billboard ‘s 2024 Women in Music event — grossed $155.3 million and sold 925,000 tickets from 20 shows. She landed at No. 11 on the 2023 Year-End Boxscore Charts. The tour is named after her 2023 history-making album, which became the first Spanish-language album by a female artist that has topped the Billboard 200 .

Her LatAm stint continues in countries like Chile, Brazil and Argentina before she heads out to Europe this summer.

Below are some of the best looks from Karol’s Mañana Será Bonito Tour in Latin America.

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour Rehearsal Outfits Include All the Activewear I Want

She's preparing to hit the stage in under-$100 gems from Nike and Free People.

Taylor Swift onstage at the Eras Tour wearing a Versace bodysuit to illustrate a guide to her Eras Tour rehearsal outfits

The Tank Top and Joggers Outfit

The girly sports bra and matching skort outfit, the sweatshirt and skort outfit.

Halie LeSavage

On the promo circuit, Taylor Swift is deep in her gothic Tortured Poets Department fashion era. Behind the scenes, she's practicing for the next leg of her Eras Tour in the down-to-earth activewear my workout routine is missing.

Swift shared a YouTube short filled with clips from rehearsals for the next leg of her record-shattering tour on Thursday, April 25. In addition to glimpses at updated choreography and, potentially, new songs on the setlist, Swift showed a workout wardrobe packed with under-$100 finds. One clip shows her practicing in Nike sneakers and Free People joggers; in another, she twirls through her routine in a PopFlex skort set that's gone viral.

While I'm not on a grueling workout schedule like the world's biggest pop star, I can imagine these pieces becoming personal heroes for runs, walks, and yoga sessions. Ahead, I've broken down three outfits featured in the snippet of Swift's Eras Tour practice sessions. Leave the sleuthing for setlist updates to the other fans. Here, there are just IDs on activewear with thousands of five-star reviews (including Swift's, apparently).

Any Swiftie can tell you that their fearless leader loves Free People: She's consistently worn FP T-shirts, dresses, and sweaters in her street style over the years, including on trips to the studio to record The Tortured Poets Department . Now, we know she also prepares for the stage in her FP gear. One of the first clips in her rehearsal outfit montage show Swift in a casual pair of Free People joggers, layered with a tank top and a supportive sports bra. On her feet, she swaps her onstage custom Louboutins for a pair of Nike sneakers .

For those of us who aren't practicing for a three-and-a-half-hour performance, it's exactly the sort of low-key look that can work for yoga, breathwork, or a long walk. Forme's high-performance bra is also a cult-favorite, with more than 1,700 five-star reviews praising its failsafe support and comfortable-yet-strong fabric.

Taylor Swift lets her affinity for accessible brands shine during rehearsals, wearing Free People joggers and Nike sneakers.

Good Karma Long Tank

In her first round of promo for "Fortnight," The Tortured Poets Department 's lead single, Swift shared a clip playing pickleball and wearing PopFlex's flouncy Pirouette skort . She brought the piece back with a matching, corseted sports bra for rehearsals in Thursday's video. The skort combines a coquette tiered skirt with flexible, breathable undershorts—and Swift's stamp of approval has caused orders to spike 600 percent, according to a rep for the brand. This is your sign to order your own set before they sell out.

For a segment of rehearsal that appeared to reference The Tortured Poets Department , Swift practiced in a PopFlex sports bra and coordinating skort.

Corset Bra - Digital Lavender

For segments of rehearsal that appear to feature new choreography (fans haven't seen those canes and hats before!), Swift dresses in a crewneck sweatshirt of unknown provenance and a black skort. The second piece is once again from PopFlex, proving that even newly-minted billionaires appreciate an under-$100 find.

Swift also let her inner sneakerhead out with this last rehearsal outfit. She's wearing the Ganni x New Balance 1906R sneaker, a collaboration that debuted on the Copenhagen Fashion Week runway for the Spring 2024 season and quickly sold out. (Select sizes are still in stock at Farfetch.)

Every Look From Zendaya’s Challengers Press Tour Was a Total Serve

By Alex Kessler

The jury might be out on method dressing , but its media impact is undeniable. Zendaya’s press tour outfits for Luca Guadagnino’s Challengers is a prime example of this; Vogue’s May cover star has amplified the film’s visibility while delivering major looks.

From the outset, Zendaya and her stylist Law Roach set a new standard in press tour fashion, with custom designs by Loewe, Jacquemus and Thom Browne, plus rare vintage finds from Ralph Lauren, Vivienne Westwood and Louis Vuitton. Even the more understated looks by Brunello Cucinelli and Tory Burch have left a lasting impression.

Below, see all of Zendaya’s most unforgettable looks from the Challengers press tour. Game, set, match.

Why wouldn’t she wear a custom Louis Vuitton gown? She’s an official brand ambassador after all. She wore three looks by the French powerhouse in one day.

Zendaya Wore the Elegant Flat-Shoe Trend Everyone Is Ditching Heels For

Zendaya is on the press tour for the anticipated tennis-centric film Challengers and has been dressing the part in on-theme outfits styled by Law Roach. Standout looks from her press tour include a black-and-white striped gown designed by Wes Gordon for Carolina Herrera that paid homage to an iconic photo shoot of Venus and Serena Williams. Another look designed by Thom Browne played into the tennis theme with a white halterneck dress covered in embroidered rackets.

Off of the red carpet, Zendaya has been leaning into preppy tennis style, including an outfit she wore to dinner in New York City that paired a coordinating dove-gray crewneck sweater and cropped pleated trousers with leather flats. The Loro Piana Rebecca shoes are a standout item in the look—a piece that already has a cult following in the fashion world and falls into the elegant flats trend that is set to be huge in 2024. outfit for city tour

Many airlines have 'stopover' programs that let travelers tour a city between connecting flights, and some will even pay for a hotel — here's how to book them

  • Many people intentionally book flights with long connections so they can explore the layover city.
  • Airlines capitalize on this trend with "stopover" programs, some even offering free hotels and food.
  • These stopovers benefit travelers, airlines, and the carrier's home country by boosting tourism.

Insider Today

A special segment of adventurous travelers will purposely book itineraries with long connections in layover cities just to leave the airport and explore for a few hours or days between flights.

Airlines have jumped on this growing trend with built-in "stopover" programs, which can come with free or discounted hotels, excursions, transportation, and food at the layover destination.

It's basically a vacation within a vacation.

Although it sounds too good to be true, stopovers benefit everyone involved. Travelers get more choices and don't have to be confined to an airport, airlines gain customers who may have otherwise chosen a nonstop option on a competitor, and the carrier's home country sees a boost in tourism.

Plus, the cheap or complimentary accommodations typically come at a small cost to airlines, thanks to partnerships with local hotels or tour companies.

Not all stopover programs are structured with an emphasis on tourism, though, as some were created simply to offer conveniences during long layovers. Still, they are a way to secure a free hotel and explore an extra city.

Here are 22 global airline stopover programs, each lasting anywhere from hours to months.

Many carriers allow stopovers to be added to a regular cash booking, but some are only available via award tickets . This means the flight was paid for using points/miles or a combination of points/miles and cash.

Air Canada has a stopover option built into its Aeroplan loyalty program. It allows customers booking award flights to add a stop on international journeys and explore practically any city the airline flies to outside the US and Canada.

The add-on costs 5,000 Aeroplan points each way and can only be booked if the stop is at least 24 hours, capping out at 45 days.

Air France/KLM

Air France and Dutch carrier KLM's Flying Blue loyalty program offers a stopover of 24 hours or more in a connecting city on either carrier or their airline partners.

The option is free to add to award tickets, and passengers can stay up to a year in the stopover city.

China Southern Airlines

China Southern Airlines offers a free one-night hotel stay for transfer passengers with connection times lasting between six and 30 hours, though there are some time and route restrictions.

Breakfast and transportation are included for eligible travelers.

Copa Airlines

Copa Airlines' Panama stopover program allows customers to spend anywhere from 24 hours to seven days in the nation's capital, Panama City, on their outbound or return trip.

The option is free for the first stopover, but a second stopover can cost up to $250 plus taxes. Copa offers discounted hotels and tours that can be booked via its stopover website.

Emirates allows a stopover in Dubai with the option to add discounted tours or hotel bookings to the itinerary via its website.

The UAE carrier also has a " Dubai Connect " program that gives passengers with layovers between 6 and 26 hours, depending on the cabin, a complimentary hotel, transfers, meals, and any needed visa.

Dubai Connect only triggers if the customer takes the next available flight. Essentially, you can't intentionally book a longer layover to quality for the free stopover hotel.

Ethiopian Airlines

Ethiopian Airlines' transit program gives customers flying via Addis Ababa a free hotel, transit visa, and transfers during layovers lasting between eight and 24 hours.

The hotel on the airline's website is the Ethiopian Skylight In-Terminal Hotel, located inside the airport.

Etihad Airways

Etihad Airways offers a stopover in its Abu Dhabi hub, which comes with an undisclosed discount at select three-star hotels for up to two nights.

Two and four-night stays can be booked at more luxurious four and five-star hotels at a 40% discount. The minimum stay is 24 hours.

Although Etihad's website says it is temporarily unavailable, the airline used to allow eligible travelers to use a so-called Transit Connect Package that provided a free hotel near the airport for layovers lasting 10 to 24 hours. It is unclear when or if the program is returning.

Fiji Airways

Fiji Airways offers a stopover program in Fiji for those traveling to and from Australia, New Zealand, and other South Pacific nations.

Hotels and activities like ziplining and beach resorts can be booked through the airline as part of the stopover package.

Finnair allows passengers to book 6, 12, or 24-hour layovers in Helsinki at no additional fare charge and outlines itinerary ideas and information on its website , like transportation, free walking tours, and restaurants.

Customers can book a hotel through the airline and earn Finnair Plus points.

Iberia customers can plan a stopover in Madrid to or from an international destination for one to six nights at no extra cost.

Discounts on hotels, excursions, and transfers in the Spanish capital are available through Iberia.

Icelandair offers a stopover option for one to seven days in its capital city of Reykjavik on transatlantic itineraries for no additional charge.

The airline offers itinerary help and assistance in booking excursions and tours. Hotels need to be booked separately.

Japan Airlines

Japan Airlines considers itself one of the "most stopover -friendly" carriers in the world.

The stopovers, which trigger at 24 hours, are not limited to JAL's hubs in Tokyo but can be enjoyed in places like Osaka and Kyoto using the airline's multi-city booking tool.

Latam Airlines

Latam Airlines offers stopovers for between one and three days on flights that connect in São Paulo, Brasilia, Fortaleza, Recife, Manaus, Curitiba, and Belem. Only international itineraries that connect in São Paulo.

Hotels and amenities can be booked via Latam, but the stopover booking is free.

Oman Air offers customizable stopover packages to give travelers time to explore the country's capital, Muscat, and beyond. An additional fare charge may be applicable, though the airline does not fly to the US.

Packages and a-la-carte options include discounted hotels for up to three nights, as well as organized tours, meals, and transfers.

Australian flag carrier Qantas offers its stopovers in a similar manner to JAL in that multi-city bookings can be manipulated to add extra days between flights in layover cities, like Bangkok, Osaka, or San Francisco.

This comes at no extra cost on eligible Qantas fares and can be used on its Oneworld partner airlines.

Qatar Airways

Qatar Airways' stopover program allows passengers with a minimum layover of 12 hours and up to 24 hours to choose from a list of deeply discounted four and five-star hotels. Certain flight itineraries allow for up to four nights.

Nightly hotel rates start at $14 per person for 1 night at four-star standard hotels, with premium five-star beach hotels starting at $30 per person for one night.

Royal Jordanian Airlines

Royal Jordanian Airlines' transit program gives economy and business-class travelers with at least eight and six-hour layovers, respectively, a free hotel room, meals, and transit, assuming certain fare conditions are met.

However, the connecting flight must be the earliest possible — meaning, similar to Emirates, passengers can't intentionally book a longer layover to be eligible for the complimentary perks.

Swiss International Air Lines

Swiss International Air Lines, or SWISS, has a multi-city stopover booking tool on its website that allows passengers to find itineraries with extra days in Switzerland.

The cost of hotels and other perks is on the customer, though.

Singapore Airlines

Singapore Airlines' stopover program is available via the multi-city tool, similar to other carriers, where travelers can add hotels, transfers, and activities. The stopover can last one to seven days.

Singapore also offers free transit tours to passengers with layover times between five and a half and 24 hours at Singapore's Changi Airport. It's first-come, first-serve and includes sightseeing around Singapore.

TAP Air Portugal

TAP Air Portugal allows customers to add a stopover in Lisbon or Porto between one and 10 days, offering discounts on hotels, food, and activities.

It also offers 25% off a domestic flight to a second Portuguese destination, like the Azores or Madeira islands, to take during the stopover.

Turkish Airlines

Turkish Airlines' stopover program gives economy travelers a one-night free hotel stay and business flyers a two-night free stay if the period between their connecting flights in Istanbul exceeds 20 hours.

Those traveling from the US in economy class can stay up to two nights in a four-star hotel, while those traveling in business can stay up to three nights in a five-star hotel.
