A Card Game That Entails Catching Cute Pokemons

Pocket Journey is a free card game for Android that is based around a slew of cute magic pokemons. To be precise, there are over 500 original pokemons, 60 completely new scenes, and more than 400 moves for collocating. All these unique elements make the game look and feel like a new experience even if you have played the game multiple times before. There are special effects done for every individual pokemon, which makes each pokemon distinct. The game is about strategy and decision-making, with the focus primarily on 18 original attributions.

  • Easy to play
  • Challenging and fun
  • Multiple original pokemons
  • Pokemon special effects
  • Graphics don’t look extremely modern
  • Not updated frequently enough
  • Developer support could be better
  • Not a lot of built-in upgrades

10 best Pokémon games for Android

Published on February 16, 2024

Train in Pokemon Go

Pokemon is one of the most successful game franchises in history. The original games are nearly 30 years old and we’ve seen dozens of them released over the years. Initially, The Pokemon Company didn’t take mobile too seriously. Now, there are over half a dozen Pokemon games for Android. Plus, with emulators, you can play nearly all of them from the comfort of your phone. Here are the best Pokemon games for Android.

The best Pokemon games for Android

Magikarp jump, pokemon home, pokemon masters, pokemon unite, pokemon quest, pokemon shuffle mobile, pokemon smile.

  • Nintendo DS Pokemon Games
  • Game Boy Pokemon Games

Price: Free with in-app purchases

Magikarp Jump is one of the best pokemon games for android

Magikarp Jump is one of the newest Pokémon games on the list. It’s a simple little casual game. Your job is to train Magikarp. The goal is to make him flop higher than your opponent’s Magikarp. It may seem a little silly and it is. You’ll have to feed it, train it, and put it through competitions to make it stronger. It features cameos from other Pokémon along with some customizations. Like Camp Pokémon, it’s made for casual gamers.

Price: Free

Pokémon Go hit the world like a ton of bricks. It is without a doubt the most popular Pokémon game on mobile. There aren’t a lot of people who don’t know how this game works. You walk around in the real world, catch Pokémon, level them up, and then use them to battle gyms. The real-world element also motivates you to leave the couch and go meet new people. There are various things to make the game more engaging like in-game events. The fad has died down a lot. However, that just made more room for the real Pokémon Go fans. Updates continue to add new content, new game modes, new Pokemon, and new activities for trainers.

Price: Free / $15.99 per year

Pokemon Home screenshot

Pokemon Home isn’t technically a game. However, it is an add-on for other Pokemon games. It serves as a bank and you can send your Pokemon there to transfer them between other games. Thus, if you have a Pokemon in Alpha Sapphire that you want in Sword or Shield, this is the app that lets you do it. Additionally, it has a Pokedex to keep track of your overall progress along with the ability to send Mystery Gifts and even trade with other players. It runs $15.99 per year, but it’s a small price to pay for hardcore players. Do beware, though, because the app still needs some more features and tools than it currently has.

Price: Free to play

Pokemon Masters is one of the newer options on mobile, comparatively speaking. You team up with other trainers for three vs three battles with all of your Pokemon at once. It’s by DeNA, the developers of Final Fantasy Record Keeper so the developers have some knowledge about doing free-to-play games from large franchises. The game features trainers from most of the Pokemon games as well as a PvP and co-op multiplayer mode. It’s brand new so there are still some growing pains, but it should be fairly popular. We also have a bunch of tutorials linked up at the end of the article if you want more info.

Imagine League of Legends or Dota 2 with a Pokemon-inspired twist, and Pokemon Unite is what you will get. It is a free-to-play MOBA with easy-to-learn, but difficult to master mechanics. Its gameplay is in stark contrast to other Pokemon games on the market, and that is part of the reason why new players seem to not get the hang of it sometimes. But once you do learn the ropes, you will learn that the developers have made an incredibly polished game.

Pokémon Quest is another newer Pokémon game from 2018. It’s also one of the few cross-platform Pokémon games. You can play on mobile or Nintendo Switch. The Pokémon world is in cubes, but your goal remains mostly the same. You catch Pokémon, train them, and battle them. There is also a campground where players customize the space and make it their own. This is a full game, unlike something such as Camp Pokémon or Pokémon Playhouse. Thus, we only recommend it for older kids and adults. There are a few bugs in the gameplay, but nothing overly serious. Admittedly, it’s not quite as fun as a mainline Pokémon game.

Pokemon Shuffle Mobile - best games like Candy Crush Saga

Pokémon Shuffle Mobile was one of the first Pokémon games on mobile. It is essentially a classic match-three-style game with some added combat mechanics. You have to match up a bunch of shapes to attack your foe. You get larger attacks if you match more than three shapes at once. It otherwise acts like any other Pokémon game. It’s a casual game. Thus, it’s not difficult to play and you’ll be grinding for new stuff often (or paying for it). That doesn’t make it bad or anything, just more friendly to a casual audience. It is not as deep as some other Pokémon games on this list.

Nintendo DS Pokemon games

This is the featured image for the best pokemon games for android

There were a few Pokémon games on the Nintendo DS. They include Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold and SoulSilver, Black and White, and Black 2 and White 2. Many of those games are older, but still very fun and very traditional titles. We don’t recommend piracy, so please try to buy these games before attempting to emulate them on your Android devices. That said, DraStic is likely your best option for a functional Nintendo DS emulator. You can check out our full list of Nintendo DS emulators by clicking the button above. This is an excellent way to get some classic Pokémon games on your phone or tablet.

Even older Pokemon Games

Untitled design

There are a bunch of Pokémon games for older game systems as well. Game Boy and Game Boy Color saw the classic Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow along with Gold, Silver, and Crystal (Game Boy Color only). Game Boy Advance had Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, FireRed, LeafGreen, and Emerald. Again, we do not condone piracy so do try to buy these games before emulating them on your phone or tablet. That said, we have a list of the best Game Boy emulators (including Color and Advance) at the button above. Check those out and find the one that works best for you. Between these, the DS ones, and the mobile games, you’re only missing a handful of Pokémon games on Switch and Nintendo 3DS. You otherwise have access to all of them.

Pokémon go added more customization for avatars and players hate it.

New character customization options aren't the welcome change that people had hoped for

  • Pokémon Go celebrates 10 years with new avatar customization options, but fans are not pleased with the latest visuals.
  • Trainers can now adjust details like eye color, skin tone, and more, but feedback online shows dissatisfaction with the current character models.
  • The game developer is aware of the negative feedback.

It's kind of hard to believe, but we're coming up on the 10-year anniversary of Pokémon Go , and it probably comes as no surprise that the game is still going strong, being one of the best Android games that you can download, with a growing community and a number of changes over the years that have made the game better than it has ever been. There are a lot of elements about the game to love, but one of the most vital is the ability to create and customize a trainer.

Pokémon Go beginner's guide: How to get started in 2024

There's nothing like seeing yourself in a videogame and, quite often, that visual piece has a huge impact on players. For years, players have been asking for more trainer customization in Pokémon Go , and now that it's here, not many are pleased with the latest visuals, as they are causing quite a stir judging by the feedback online, and things are not looking good at all.

What's changed, and why are people unhappy?

The news was announced through the game's official X (formerly Twitter) account, with details on the main website explaining the changes that are being implemented. The game will now have customization options that will allow users to carefully adjust details like eye color, skin tone, body weight, hairstyles, and more. The game takes things even further with focus points like shoulders, chest, hips, and muscles.

It sounds like a recipe for success, but it appears that most folks online that are chiming in about the customization option are not happy. You can see one example of this in the post from X above, with the user quickly sharing an image of the results of the character before and after the latest update. While previous characters looked more shapely, current iterations look more basic with less definition for both male and female character models.

One bit of silver lining in all of this is that the game developer is aware of the feedback and is looking into it (via Dot Esports ). Of course, this doesn't mean that changes are coming, so take this information how you will. This is just the first part of the game's update process, as there will be more features rolling out over the next few weeks. Some of the updates will look to improve the visuals of the gaming world, so there's no telling how those changes will be received.

Are you a Pokémon Go player? And if so, how do you like the new visuals? Let us know in the comments below.

Best Mobile Pokémon games for Android and iOS

Image of Radiant G

Ever since Pokémon Red and Blue came to North America in 1998, it’s made a huge impact and been one of the best-selling video game franchises for kids and adults alike. Now in the age of mobile gaming, you can play with some of these lovable creatures right from your phone.

These are the best Pokémon games for mobile. (Officially licensed only, though there some pretty awesome Pokémon-likes out there too) All are free-to-play, though most have optional in-app purchases.

Best Pokémon games for mobile devices

Pokemon GO

It may seem the obvious choice, as it seemed to take over the world back in 2016, but in 2020  Pokémon GO  is still GO-ing strong. P okémon GO  is a game that uses your real-world location to catch Pokémon, fight battles, and trade with friends.

Now with over 500 different Pokémon to catch, and more servers and PokéStops than ever, it’s clear the game isn’t slowing down anytime soon.

Even while we are all stuck inside during the pandemic,  Pokémon GO  has added new events and promotions that allow you to get Pokéballs, more Pokémon, and even fight in raids battles, all from home.

Pokémon Quest

pokemon quest

Ever wanted to play a Pokémon game without trainers or gyms?  Pokémon Quest  is a game in which you assemble a team of blocky-looking Pokémon to go on an adventure, select certain types to get boosts on certain levels, and you can cook at your camp to attract more Pokémon to join your team.

While movement in the game is automated, you select when the Pokémon attack and what attack they use. You can also win equipment to put on your Pokémon that will give them more HP and strength, or even increase the speed or range of an attack. Choose wisely.

Pokémon Quest  is also available for free on the Nintendo eShop if you prefer to play on Nintendo Switch.

Pokémon Masters

pokemon masters

Maybe you are looking for the opposite: a game all about the trainers. In  Pokémon Masters , you aren’t just collecting Pokémon, but ‘Sync Pairs.’ Duos of a Pokémon and their trainer. You can acquire gym leaders, elite four members, player characters, and more from all throughout the game franchise!

This Gacha-style game has you fighting in teams of 3 sync pairs to play through a story and many special modes and limited time events to see who can best the best.

There is also a worldwide multiplayer co-op battle where you can be joined by friends or random players.

Pokémon Shuffle

pokemon shuffle

There are also some simpler games that you don’t have to devote as much time to play.  Pokémon Shuffle  is a cross between a match-3 type game and a battle game. There is a main campaign that limits how many moves you can make and an expert mode that is timed.

When you win a match, you get the try to catch the Pokémon you defeated with your matches. Depending on how good or bad you did, the catch rate with fluctuate. Try to catch ‘em all!

Magikarp Jump

magikarp jump

Another simple game is  Magikarp Jump . Our lovable splashing friend now has a chance to be the center of attention. Collect items, train you Magikarp, and see how high they can flop. The higher the jump, the more tournaments you win. You can also collect Magikarps with different colors and patterns.

The mechanics are simple and can get to be a little repetitive, but if you are looking for a bit of something to pass the time with adorable graphics,  Magikarp Jump  is exactly that. It is made by Select Button. This developer is also bringing us a new Pokémon mobile app later this year:  Pokémon Sleep .

Camp Pokémon

Camp Pokemon

While this game may not appeal to you, if you are looking for a game that will appeal to kids aged 8 and under, this is a great place to start off their Pokémon journey.

It is full of cute Pokémon, easy to read text, and mini-games that are both fun and manageable for a younger kid.  Camp Pokémon  may be a good alternative to  Pokémon GO  if they want a Pokémon game on their phone.

Honorable Mention: Pokémon Duel was a Pokémon-themed digital board game for mobile, but it was sadly discontinued in late 2019

How to Emulate Old Pokemon Games on Your Android Phone

Here's how to play classic Pokémon games on Android! It's easy to relive your favorite games and take them with you anywhere.

Pokémon Go took the world by storm, attracting new players and instilling a powerful feeling of nostalgia in others. This is in no small part thanks to the title featuring the original set of creatures from Pokémon Red and Blue that debuted way back in 1998.

While there are Pokémon games for Android, many of the mobile games don't have the same feel as the originals.

If you're missing the old games, don't despair. It's actually quite easy to play old Pokémon games on your Android phone or tablet today. Here's how.

Which Pokémon Games Are Playable on Android?

There's no one-size-fits-all Pokémon emulator, but everything from the original Game Boy games to the Nintendo DS titles is available to emulate on Android. That includes:

  • Game Boy (GB): Red, Blue, and Yellow
  • Game Boy Color (GBC): Gold, Silver, and Crystal
  • Game Boy Advance (GBA): Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald; FireRed and LeafGreen
  • Nintendo DS (NDS): Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum; HeartGold and SoulSilver; Black and White; Black and White 2

You'll need a separate Android Pokémon emulator for each system. These are the main series games, though you can also emulate spinoff titles like Pokémon Pinball if you like.

As you'd expect, the newer a console, the more difficult it is to emulate. Despite that, the good news is that you can emulate the Nintendo 3DS games on Android . So, yes, it's possible to emulate newer games like Pokémon X and Y, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, and Sun and Moon on Android. However, this article focuses on the classics.

By the way, we've looked at how to play Pokémon games on iPhone and iPad if you have those devices as well.

How to Play Pokémon Games on Android

Once you've made sure that the game you want to play is a realistic choice, this is what you'll need to get Pokémon on Android:

  • An emulator for the system the game was originally on.
  • A ROM of the game.

An emulator is a piece of software that imitates a certain game system. If you want to play GB, GBA, and NDS games, you'll need an emulator for each. Just because the consoles were backward-compatible doesn't mean the emulators necessarily are.

Most emulators support custom save states and fast-forwarding, both of which are extremely useful for Pokémon games. Custom save states let you use multiple save files at once, and you can save at times the game doesn't normally let you, like in the middle of a battle.

Fast-forwarding solves the issue of characters talking too slowly, and also allows you to run around quickly without being told, "This is not the place to ride your bicycle."

A ROM is essentially a file containing all the game's data. If you want to play Pokémon Red and Pokémon HeartGold, you'll need a Pokémon Red ROM and a Pokémon HeartGold ROM.

Now you're ready to dive in and play Pokémon games on Android. Next, we'll look at what emulators to use and how to find ROMs.

Which Emulator Should You Use for Pokémon?

The answer to this question depends on which console you're looking to emulate, so let's look at them separately.

If you don't see an emulator on this list, it's probably best to avoid it. There are, unfortunately, lots of spam emulators in the Play Store that are just copies of existing emulators with ads jammed into every corner. They won't give you a good Pokémon Android experience!

We've tested the choices below to ensure that they work well; see more of our favorite emulators for Android if you want to play other consoles too.

Game Boy and Game Boy Color

There's only one solid contender for emulating both the Game Boy and Game Boy Color: My OldBoy! It comes in free and paid versions. However, the free version of the app was abandoned and last updated in 2018. If you decide to use My OldBoy!, we recommend using the paid version because it's updated frequently.

Here are some reasons why you shouldn't install old or abandoned Android apps in case you want to know why we are against using the free outdated version.

MyOldBoy! allows for regular in-game saves, Google Drive sync, fast-forwarding to skip long stories, external controller support, custom shortcuts, entering cheat codes, and customizing the controls. Plus, there are no ads during gameplay. We'd say that's worth a few dollars, especially if you plan to play several games.

But if you'd like to play for free without the risk of running an old app, we recommend using ClassicBoy Pro. It's a free Android Pokémon emulator that supports dozens of classics. The key feature that makes ClassicBoy Pro stand out is the support for plugins that allow you to play different Pokémon games, including those that were on the Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and other consoles like the PlayStation, NES, NDS, among others.

Download: My OldBoy! ($3.99)

Download: Classic Boy Pro (Free, in-app purchases available)

Game Boy Advance

Much like with the GB/GBC, the GBA has one standout emulator: My Boy! This emulator from the same developer is almost identical to My OldBoy!, except that it plays GBA games instead.

While the free version of the app is no longer available, the paid full version allows you to save at any time and fast-forward up to 16x speed. You can even link up to trade with or battle your friends.

If you want to play GBA Pokémon games but can't pay, check out John GBAC for a free alternative that will emulate both GBC and GBA games.

Download: My Boy! ($4.99)

Download: John GBAC (Free, in-app purchases available)

Nintendo DS

We'll first mention the free option: Lemuroid. It has customizable controls, so you can put the buttons or D-pad wherever you want.

Like most emulators, it supports custom save states, load states, external controllers, and fast-forwarding. It also has cloud sync for saving your progress for later, allows offline multiplayer support, and has no ads. While the performance won't blow you away, it's good enough on most devices and it supports different consoles, including PlayStation, Atari, GB, GBA, GBC, Nintendo 3DS, and more.

On the other hand, if you're willing to pay a few dollars, you should absolutely check out DraStic. It has noticeably better performance and is one of the best Nintendo DS emulators on Android.

DraStic is still in active development, and works on Android TV along with smartphones and tablets. If you've got a few bucks to put towards playing Pokémon games on your phone, it's worth it.

Download: Lemuroid (Free)

Download: DraStic DS Emulator ($4.99)

How Do You Get Old Pokémon Game ROMs?

We can't provide information on where to find game ROMs. While they're readily available across the internet, downloading ROMs for games that you do not own is piracy . Nintendo has a strong stance against the use of ROMs, so you do so at your own risk.

We can, however, give you a few tips for parsing through ROMs.

Make sure that you get the appropriate version for your region. After most ROM names, there will be a (J) , (U) , (E) , or some other letter depending on the game. J stands for Japan, U stands for United States, and E stands for Europe.

Any region should work with an emulator, but you'll of course want to get one that matches where you live. If you don't speak Japanese and download the Japanese version of a game, it won't make much sense.

Also, pay attention to the file that downloads. ROMs come in ZIP files that you usually don't have to unzip; some come as RAR files instead. If a website provides an APK or EXE file, delete it. That's malware waiting to infect your device.

ROM files are small in size, relative to the age of the console. Pokémon Red measures just 380KB, while Pokémon Black is around 110MB.

Pokémon Games and Emulators for Android

Now you know how easy it is to get Pokémon games for your Android device. You can start reliving your favorites or trying a generation you missed on-the-go anytime.

If you want to take it up a notch, try playing through a fun Pokémon challenge in one of these games. After you've finished the entire main series, try some awesome fan-made Pokémon titles next.

The Best Android Pokemon Games (Official, Unofficial & Fan Inspired)

The Best Android Pokemon Games (Official & Unofficial)

Mobile Android devices are becoming a good way to play a variety of Pokemon games. So far there has been 8 official and more than 60 unofficial (including emulated) bootleg Pokemon games released for the Android OS. In this article, I look at the best official, unofficial and fan inspired Pokemon games for Android devices. When new worthy games are released this article will be updated. Note:   Games labeled with  *Editors Pick*  in their title I personally recommend checking out.

Page Contents:

Pokemon Go *Editors Pick*

Pokemon Go

The game runs on a fair free to play model, not forcing you to buy anything through microtransactions. If you need more Pokeballs to throw, simply make your way to the nearest Pokestops. No in-game purchases are necessary unless you want to gain Pokeballs and special Pokemon catching items quicker. If you become bored of catching Pokemon, you can always battle your Pokemon against rival teams at nearby gyms located on the GPS map. Recently Pokemon Go added a social feature which allows you to trade Pokemon with your friends. Currently, Pokemon up to generation 3 has been added to Pokemon Go, with new Pokemon additions happening occasionally.

Overall Pokemon Go gets you out of the house and moving around. It’s most fun when played with friends or family members. Pokemon Go isn’t a traditional Pokemon gaming experience, but that’s what makes it special. – More Information & Download

Pocketown / Epicmon (Unofficial) *Editors Pick*

Pocketown / Epicmon

I was really impressed by the 3D graphics, music, and sounds. The character models and environments look like they were done by official art developers. The online hub world is also neat, it allows you to chat with other players in the game.

Overall Pocketown is a fun free to play MMO game that doesn’t have much of a story. There are optional in-game purchases that will help you progress a lot faster. As much as I like Poketown, it does seem grindy if you’re not paying for premium items, but I’m sure the grind won’t bother a lot of players. – More Information & Download

Pokémon: Magikarp Jump *Editors Pick*

Pokemon MagiKarp Jump

If you like the virtual pet or clicker-style upgrade games, you’ll probably find MagiKarp Jump to be quite addicting. – More Information & Download

Pokeland Legends / Spirit Monsters (Unofficial) *Editors Pick*

Pokeland Legends

Pokeland Legends is a free to play game, so it’s grindy if you don’t plan on buying premium gems to progress faster. One tip is to add as many active friends as you can to keep your energy up high so you can play for longer sessions. Before starting Pokeland Legends I recommend checking out these YouTube tutorial guides because this is not the most beginner friendly game.

Pokemon Quest *Editors Pick*

Pokemon Quest

Overall Pokemon Quest is a nice exploration game with a fun real-time battle system. It’s a great time killer and provides many hours of gameplay. The gameplay might become repetitive after a while for some gamers though. – More Information & Download

Pockie Trainers (Unofficial) *Editors Pick*

Pockie Trainers

There is a lot of different things you can do in this game, but your main objective is to pass levels, collect Pokemon, and level them up. Like other similar unofficial MMO’s Pockie Trainers is a grind if you don’t buy premium items. – More Information & Download

PK House 3D (Unofficial)

PK House 3D

Overall PK House 3D is challenging turn-based battle game, it will be the most fun for players that don’t mind level grinding.

Pokémon Duel

Pokemon Duel

Overall Pokemon Duel is a neat game that targets turn-based strategy gamers. – More Information & Download

Legends Of Monsters (Unofficial)

Legends Of Monsters

Pocket Saga (Unofficial)

Pocket Saga

Pocket Saga (AKA: Monster Saga, Master of Monsters) is a 2D level based Pokemon battle game. All the characters from the original Pokemon TV cartoon series appear in Pokemon Saga. The main objective is to defeat levels, power up, and catch Pokemon. There is a large variety of regions and levels to play through. The 2D battle system is like the classic Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advance Pokemon games, but it has a nice coat of paint and a smooth artistic style.

For Pokemon players that love 2D battling and grinding, Pocket Saga might be worth checking out. – More Information & Download

Legends Tour (Unofficial)

Pokemon Legends Tour

* Honorable Mentions *

The following games barely missed our top list. You might want to check these out also. Pokemon Counter Attack (Unofficial, Japanese) – Another MMO bootleg. Unfortunately, everything is in Japanese so the game is hard to play. This game lacks the content and depth that other popular unofficial Pokemon MMO’s offer.

Pokemon Revolution Online (Unofficial) – This is a neat little traditional Pokemon style online MMO, that really focuses on social gaming. You can chat and go exploring with friends at any time while playing. Your goal is to battle against trainers and catch/level up Pokemon. When I tried this game I thought it was a little bare on content, easy, and repetitive. If you have some friends to play with you might want to check this one out though.

Camp Pokémon – This is the best android Pokemon game available for young kids (Ages 5 to 8). The Pokemon camp provides a lot of fun easy to play mini-games.

Pokemon Playhouse – This is an interactive point-and-click adventure game for kids aged 5 and under. It’s an exploration and virtual pet game perfect for kids just entering android gaming.

Pokémon TCG Online – An official online version of the Pokemon Card game. Collect, trade, and build up your Pokemon card deck.  You can battle against players from around the world.

Pokémon Shuffle Mobile – If you like puzzle matching games with a lot of challenging stages, you’ll probably enjoy Pokemon Shuffle.

* Great Android Games Inspired By Pokemon *

The following games don’t feature any Pokemon characters or assets. They do feature catchable monsters, monster battles, similar characters, and similar stories. I would consider the monsters in these games to be Fakemon!

Drakomon

Dynamons 1, 2, World

Dynamons

Pet Alliance 2

Pet Alliance 2

End Note: I’m aware some of the games featured on this list might infringe on Nintendo’s copyrights. I’m just trying to showcase the best Pokemon android games to my readers. I personally love unofficial fan-games and I don’t feel bad showcasing them with official games as long as they provide a quality gaming experience. I understand from a business point of view these sort of games are bad for Nintendo though.

1. Pokémon GO

The game’s innovative concept of catching Pokémon via smartphones quickly propelled it to cultural prominence. Reviews of Pokémon GO were varied, with many praising its groundbreaking approach to gaming, social elements, and encouragement of physical activity, while others noted technical issues and simplistic gameplay.

Pokémon GO’s social dimension is a key highlight, fostering player gatherings for Pokemon capture, gym battles, and shared adventures. The game promotes physical activity and exploration, urging players to traverse real-world locations in search of Pokémon and camaraderie. This communal aspect significantly contributes to its widespread appeal, cultivating a vibrant player community.

The success of Pokémon GO stems from its ability to engage players in a novel way, promoting physical activity, exploration, and social interaction. The game’s use of augmented reality to bring Pokémon into the real world resonated with players of all ages, cementing its status as a global phenomenon. Continuous updates, introducing new Pokémon, and special events have kept players invested in the evolving experience.

In summary, Pokémon GO  is a trailblazing mobile game that redefined augmented reality gaming. Its capacity to merge virtual and real worlds, promote physical fitness, and cultivate social bonds has left an indelible mark on the gaming landscape. Despite its technical flaws, the game’s cultural impact and ability to unite players in a shared journey make it a standout and influential title in mobile gaming.

2.  Pokémon UNITE

Pokémon Unite , launched in 2021, blends the beloved Pokémon world with the strategic gameplay of a MOBA, attracting attention for its innovative approach, diverse Pokémon roster, and social features. Players partake in strategic battles across symmetrical lanes and a dynamic jungle, assuming roles like Speedsters, Attackers, and Defenders for fast-paced matches lasting up to 10 minutes, catering to casual and competitive gamers.

Visually, Pokémon Unite dazzles with vibrant graphics, faithfully representing the Pokémon universe on mobile screens. Character designs stay true to the franchise, capturing each Pokémon’s essence and abilities with smooth, polished animations, enriching the real-time battling experience.

The game boasts various modes, including standard matches, ranked battles, and special events, ensuring gameplay remains fresh and captivating. However, concerns over the monetization model have emerged, with fears of potential pay-to-win elements and complex in-game economies. Parental worries regarding in-app purchases, addictive qualities, and their impact on children emphasize the need for responsible gaming practices and parental oversight.

Top 10 Pokemon Games For Android

Pokémon Unite  delivers a dynamic gaming experience that bridges Pokémon’s world with the MOBA genre. With its strategic depth, diverse character lineup, and engaging social components, the game has captured the hearts of players seeking a fresh mobile gaming adventure. As it evolves and responds to player feedback, it stands poised to become a cornerstone in the mobile gaming realm, providing endless entertainment for Pokémon enthusiasts and MOBA fans.

3. Pokémon Quest

Pokémon Quest , a free-to-play mobile game created by The Pokémon Company, presents a distinct approach to the iconic Pokémon franchise. Launched in 2018, the game transports players to Tumblecube Island, home to the original 150 Pokémon from the Kanto region. Unlike conventional Pokémon titles, Pokémon Quest emphasizes a grind-and-collect gameplay style over Pokémon capture. Players entice Pokémon through food preparation, offering a charming and immersive method to assemble their team.

Visually, Pokémon Quest distinguishes itself with cubic graphics, departing from the series’ traditional anime style. The vibrant and Minecraft-inspired landscapes and the adorable cubic Pokémon designs introduce a fresh and captivating aesthetic to the game. Despite requiring initial adaptation to the new visual direction, the game’s graphics are skillfully executed, contributing to its overall allure.

Top 10 Pokemon Games For Android

The gameplay in Pokémon Quest revolves around expeditions on Tumblecube Island, where teams of three Pokémon explore fully 3D stages, engaging in battles against wild Pokémon and formidable bosses. The gameplay, while straightforward, remains engrossing, allowing players to dictate when each Pokémon employs their abilities. Although the game features an auto mode for convenience, some players may lament the lack of control during battles.

A noteworthy aspect of Pokémon Quest is its emphasis on the Pokémon, fostering a bond between players and their team members. By spotlighting the personalities and progress of the Pokémon, the game adds depth and emotional investment for players, enriching the overall experience.

Despite its merits, Pokémon Quest does exhibit some drawbacks. The game’s aesthetics and gameplay might feel sparse to certain players, with limited features such as the inability to nickname Pokémon or engage in specific interactions. Additionally, touch-based controls and UI design enhancements could enhance the gaming experience for smoother navigation.

Top 10 Pokemon Games For Android

In summary, Pokémon Quest offers a delightful and captivating mobile gaming experience for Pokémon enthusiasts. With its distinctive visual style, engaging gameplay mechanics, and emphasis on Pokémon interactions, the game presents a refreshing departure from the traditional Pokémon formula. While its simplicity and limited features may not resonate with all players, Pokémon Quest provides an enjoyable and whimsical journey that encapsulates the essence of the Pokémon universe innovatively and imaginatively.

4. Pokémon Masters EX

Pokémon Masters EX , jointly developed by DeNA and Nintendo, presents a distinctive fusion of Pokémon collecting and battling on mobile platforms. Debuting in 2019, the game transports players to the artificial island of Pasio, where they recruit trainers from various main series Pokémon games to establish sync pairs and partake in battles. Setting itself apart from conventional Pokémon mobile titles, the game’s emphasis on assembling trainers rather than Pokémon offers a novel perspective within the Pokémon universe.

Visually, Pokémon Masters EX showcases a combination of static backgrounds and straightforward animations that spotlight the emotive trainers and their Pokémon during combat. While lacking complexity in certain aspects, the game shines during Sync Move animations, which introduce unique moves, injecting excitement into battles. The streamlined battle mechanics, with moves consuming portions of a gauge that replenishes over time, evoke the familiarity of mainline Pokémon games.

Top 10 Pokemon Games For Android

Gameplay in Pokémon Masters EX centers on forming strategic sync pairs, leveling them up, and engaging in battles to advance through the narrative and events. The game achieves commendable balance, providing diverse valuable sync pairs, each fulfilling distinct roles. Despite minor power creep and longevity issues, the game establishes a sturdy framework for players to construct varied rosters and indulge in compelling battles.

A notable strength of Pokémon Masters EX lies in its emphasis on character interactions and fleshing out trainers with limited screen time in the main series games. This meticulous attention enriches the Pokémon universe, catering to fans seeking a more profound, more immersive experience beyond traditional Pokémon games. The absence of a Stamina system facilitates unrestricted gameplay, encouraging extended play sessions.

However, Pokémon Masters EX encounters criticism for its absence of competitive elements, limited content offerings, and repetitive gameplay in specific modes. Reliance on grinding between events and story updates may induce player fatigue. While the game delivers engaging battles and character development, the demand for supplementary features such as PvP modes or enduring PvE challenges to enhance longevity becomes apparent.

Top 10 Pokemon Games For Android

In summary, Pokémon Masters EX emerges as a well-crafted Pokémon mobile title that encapsulates the franchise’s essence through captivating battles, character dynamics, and strategic gameplay mechanics. Despite shortcomings in content variety and longevity, the game delivers a robust experience for Pokémon enthusiasts seeking a mobile gaming escapade centered on trainer dynamics and sync pair skirmishes. With potential for future updates to address player input and broaden gameplay diversity, Pokémon Masters EX remains a promising addition to the Pokémon mobile gaming repertoire.

5. Pokémon Café ReMix

Pokémon Café ReMix , an enchanting puzzle game developed by The Pokémon Company, welcomes players to the delightful world of a Pokémon-themed café. Unveiled in 2023, this game delivers a refreshing and captivating journey where players mix, link, and blast icons and gimmicks alongside Pokémon staff to cater to customers through entertaining cooking puzzles.

Visually, Pokémon Café ReMix distinguishes itself with its adorable and vivid cubic graphics, crafting a distinct and alluring aesthetic that sets it apart from conventional Pokémon titles. While maintaining simplicity, the game’s visuals contribute to its inherent charm, establishing an immersive milieu where players interact with Pokémon in the cozy ambiance of a café.

Top 10 Pokemon Games For Android

The gameplay in Pokémon Café ReMix revolves around completing cooking puzzles by blending icons and connecting them to prepare beverages and dishes for patrons. Collaborating with their staff Pokémon, each endowed with unique specialties, players strive for three-star delicacies, cultivating a lively and prosperous café. The puzzles present a delightful blend of challenge and enjoyment, ensuring players remain engaged.

A standout feature of the game is its extensive roster of Pokémon, enabling players to recruit and accessorize their staff Pokémon to infuse energy into the café. As players enhance their staff Pokémon’s levels, they unlock diverse colored attire and unique costumes, personalizing their café staff. The game emphasises Pokémon interactions and customization deepens players’ bond with their team and café.

Despite its merits, Pokémon Café ReMix has encountered criticism for its grind-heavy and demanding events, occasional difficulty spikes in primary levels, and the introduction of modes like Slow Cooking, which some players find less engaging. Concerns regarding microtransactions and the pricing of DLC have also impacted the overall experience for specific players.

Top 10 Pokemon Games For Android

In summary, Pokémon Café ReMix delivers a charming and immersive puzzle gaming experience for enthusiasts seeking to immerse themselves in the Pokémon universe through a distinctive café ambiance. With its endearing visuals, entertaining cooking puzzles, and the chance to interact with many Pokémon characters, the game offers a light-hearted and enjoyable gaming venture. Despite facing challenges related to event difficulty and monetization, Pokémon Café ReMix remains a delightful option for players searching for a casual and entertaining mobile gaming escapade infused with the charm of Pokémon.

6. Pokémon Shuffle Mobile

Pokémon Shuffle Mobile , an adaptation of the popular Pokémon Shuffle puzzle game, provides a distinctive and captivating experience for fans of the franchise. While reminiscent of Candy Crush Saga in its mechanics, Pokémon Shuffle Mobile infuses a Pokémon twist, evoking nostalgia and excitement for players.

Visually, Pokémon Shuffle Mobile boasts a vibrant and charming aesthetic, featuring adorable Pokémon icons and lively backgrounds that encapsulate the essence of the Pokémon world. Although the graphics maintain simplicity, they create an immersive environment as players progress through various stages and challenges.

Top 10 Pokemon Games For Android

The move-based puzzler demands careful planning from players to defeat opponents within a limited number of swaps, introducing a strategic layer that sustains engagement and entertainment throughout the game’s levels.

A notable strength of the game lies in its presentation and sound design, incorporating catchy tunes and appealing visuals to enhance the overall gaming experience. While microtransactions and freemium elements have drawn criticism, the core gameplay mechanics and captivating puzzles render it a rewarding venture for Pokémon enthusiasts seeking a casual and enjoyable mobile game.

Despite its freemium model, Pokémon Shuffle Mobile delivers a fun and addictive puzzle experience that blends the charm of Pokémon with compelling gameplay mechanics. The game’s match-three puzzles, strategic components, and Pokémon-themed content offer a fresh take on the puzzle genre, catering to casual players and Pokémon fans.

Available for iOS and Android devices, the game immerses players in the realm of Magikarp, where they nurture, train, and compete with their Magikarp in jumping leagues to achieve the highest jumps. The game’s focus on Magikarp, a Pokémon renowned for its vulnerability in conventional battles, injects a fresh and comical twist into the gameplay.

Visually, Pokémon Magikarp Jump adopts a simple yet vibrant art style that perfectly complements the game’s lighthearted tone. Its mechanics are easily understood, ensuring players of all ages can enjoy the experience without encountering steep learning curves. The gameplay revolves around feeding, training, and entering Magikarp into jumping competitions, crafting a delightful and engaging loop that captivates players.

Top 10 Pokemon Games For Android

The essence of Pokémon Magikarp Jump lies in nurturing and honing Magikarp’s jumping prowess to compete in leagues. Players strategically manage resources like food and training points to optimize their Magikarp’s potential and advance through the game. The inclusion of random events introduces an element of unpredictability and challenge, ensuring each playthrough is fresh and exhilarating.

A standout feature of the game is its ability to assign significance to Magikarp, a Pokémon often sidelined in traditional battles. By spotlighting Magikarp’s jumping abilities and crafting a game around this aspect, Pokémon Magikarp Jump revitalizes this beloved Pokémon, offering players a novel perspective on its capabilities. Its simplicity and accessibility make it ideal for casual gamers seeking a delightful and laid-back gaming experience.

Top 10 Pokemon Games For Android

In conclusion, Pokémon Magikarp Jump is a delightful and entertaining mobile game that infuses a fresh and humorous outlook into the Pokémon world. 1947 Kanto is a rapidly developing region. The term “trainer” is somewhat recent, with most people in the creature business referring to themselves as “tamers.” They fight for money, have the right to catch another Pokémon from Tamer if they win, and generally inflict a lot of suffering on the inhabitants.

A “creature fever” overtook the country after Kantians learned to construct capsules (Poké Balls) out of Apricorns. Young people have been seduced by the rush to earn quick money, put obligations aside, and enjoy unprecedented freedom and strength. Students began dropping out of school, and gangs swiftly developed, despite the elders’ regular objections.

You are tasked in this chaotic setting with bringing to Kanto (and the entire “Pokémon” nation)… not a set of rules, not a new kind of fight, but an entire infrastructure that will ultimately be accountable for the construction of modern customs. coaches in the way we know them Will you be able to restore law and order to the region, or will the Kanto wilds overpower you?

  • Inspired by the beta versions of Red and Green, (Trainers using whips, an economy based on Pokémon, initial knowledge or concepts that have been discarded, Pokémon being closer to natural organisms than multiverse mythological multi-beings).
  • Kanto visually remastered closer to how it was in gen 1 (hey, no nostalgia here, don’t go the genwunner route, kthxbye). For example, Route 1 has fields on both sides, not trees like in Generation 3. Kanto is much more rural, as depicted in older artwork.
  • Man-made items are practically non-existent, you need to make Apricorns Poké Balls (an unrealistic time system means you can convert a ball relatively quickly), find berries or roots, and generally, be thrifty-minded. You can buy Pokemon, but you cannot sell them.
  • Establish the first gyms and first league, taking down groups of tamers whose activities can sometimes be… reprehensible
  • The only known evolution method is “level-up” evolution. At least for those who know that Pokemon can even evolve in the first place…
  • Many Pokemon that are known to be rare today, are ubiquitous in this era. Well, not as ubiquitous, but much easier to find.
  • Access your “Storage Boxes” from the menu. Well, computers don’t exist yet, at least in Kanto, and there’s no restriction forcing teleportation into your… balls… if you have more than six of them. Then you can just put those extra mons inside your bag.
  • Organize your resources carefully. Berries aside, they are limited, and losing a battle means losing a lot of money. Healing services are rare and expensive.
  • A modified HGSS soundtrack, with some OG tracks in the mix, aims to replicate the OG feeling of Kanto music in an authentic way. What would the soundtrack look like back then, if it wasn’t constrained by GB’s audio hardware?
  • Discover the pasts of various characters, from Koga to Bertha, and witness the transformation of a ragtag, loose group of tamers into gym leaders.
  • A gripping story that explains Oak’s past and his role in every future coach’s journey.

Red’s Journey West

In Red’s Journey West, you will be faced with harder (than usual) fights. If you are competent in competitive, they will be a walk in the park – otherwise, since they were designed to teach non-competitive players how to adapt to the scene, you will come out with greater confidence in your skills, as a result. So don’t fret, and approach your choices with a tactical mind!

Find out the truth about Red’s missing brother, and the events that transpired between Red’s loss and his arrival in the West, in this emotional journey about the process of coming of age, in a time when traditional family structures have started falling apart.

On a fateful day, on the very peak of Mt. Silver, Red was dealt a decisive blow – a newcomer from Johto, with 16 badges, swept his team with ease. To someone like Red, who had never lost a battle before, it felt like the world had ended. After running away with his tail between his legs, he stumbled upon an old friend, who gave him a letter mentioning a potentially important person to Red. With purpose anew, our protagonist finally descends Route 26, and travels to Johto in search of him.

  • The game’s difficulty has been made with introducing non-competitive players to competitive tactics, in mind!
  • Beta Johto content restored! Caves, routes, and a Town!
  • Starters given dual typing (yeah, cliche, I know) almost all competitively “insignificant” mons buffed
  • A quick-paced adventure that respects your time! Useful additions to overcome grinding
  • Beta mons that got cut, in the form of corresponding later gen mons
  • Secret mons for those who care about them
  • more than 100 animated portraits!
  • remastered and original tracks (stadium 1 and 2, colosseum, HGSS)

Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield

Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield

Pokémon sword expansion pass and pokémon shield expansion pass.

The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra are now both available in the Pokémon Sword Expansion Pass and Pokémon Shield Expansion Pass!

The Isle of Armor

Experience The Isle of Armor , the first part of the Pokémon Sword Expansion Pass and Pokémon Shield Expansion Pass. The Isle of Armor will take you to new areas and introduce new Pokémon and characters. You’ll visit a giant island full of environments not seen in Galar before, including wave-swept beaches, forests, bogs, caves, and sand dunes. Plenty of Pokémon can be found on the Isle of Armor, including the Legendary Pokémon Kubfu and Urshifu. Plus, you’ll meet Mustard, a Pokémon Trainer who runs a dojo that specializes in some very particular training styles. You’ll be able to begin exploring these new areas as long as you’ve reached the Wild Area in the main story of Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield .

The Crown Tundra

The second part of the Pokémon Sword Expansion Pass and Pokémon Shield Expansion Pass is The Crown Tundra . In the snowy realm of the Crown Tundra, you’ll find jagged winter mountains and a small community of people. Here, you will be appointed as the leader of an exploration team, and you’ll explore the full depths of a Pokémon Den alongside fellow Trainers in Dynamax Adventures. New Pokémon, such as Galarian Slowking, can be found in the Crown Tundra, and you’ll even be able to encounter Legendary Pokémon from previous games in the Pokémon series! You’ll also get to take on the Galarian Star Tournament, an exciting Multi Battle tournament hosted by Leon himself.

With the  Pokémon Sword  Expansion Pass or  Pokémon Shield  Expansion Pass, you’ll also discover new regional forms of some familiar Pokémon—and Gigantamax forms of Rillaboom, Cinderace, and Inteleon. There are also new items, Max Raid Battles against new Pokémon, and more. Check it out today!

Full version of game required to use Expansion Pass for that game. Games and Expansion Passes sold separately or in special bundle packs.

P okémon Sword  and  Pokémon Shield , developed by GAME FREAK, are the next generation of Pokémon RPGs for the Nintendo Switch system. The adventure is set in Galar, an expansive region with many environments—idyllic countryside, contemporary cities, thick forests, and craggy, snow-covered mountains.

The people and Pokémon live together in this region, and they’ve worked side-by-side to develop the industries here. In the Galar region, Pokémon battles are big entertainment, and the region’s Pokémon League holds a tournament to decide the next Champion. You’ll have to compete with your rivals and challenge Galar’s Gym Leaders for your chance to take part in this tournament, too!

Discover New Pokémon

There are all sorts of wonderful new Pokémon to be found in the Galar region, including the first partner Pokémon Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble. You’ll also encounter Pokémon such as the adorable Sheep Pokémon Wooloo, the fierce-looking Corviknight, and the Ghost-type Pokémon Polteageist, which has a body made out of black tea.

Certain Pokémon have adapted to the unique environment of one specific region and look different than the same species might look when found in another region. The Galar region has its own regional forms of Pokémon, known as Galarian forms! Look for Galarian forms of familiar Pokémon such as Weezing and Zigzagoon.

There are several differences between  Pokémon Sword  and  Pokémon Shield , and one such difference is the species of Pokémon that appear. For example, Sirfetch’d only appears in  Pokémon Sword , while Galarian Ponyta only appears in  Pokémon Shield .

New Legendary Pokémon call the Galar region home. Zacian and Zamazenta are featured on the packages of Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield , but they are still shrouded in mystery. Perhaps you can discover their secrets.

Explore the Wild Area

There is a vast expanse of land in the Galar region known as the Wild Area. The Wild Area is full of nature as far as the eye can see, and it is home to a wide variety of Pokémon.

While exploring this expanse, you can freely control the game’s camera as you explore. You’ll need to be on your guard as you’ll likely run into powerful wild Pokémon here! Be prepared to run from battle if your Pokémon are not strong enough to defeat these mighty foes.

The weather in the Wild Area can change depending on where you are or what time of day it is. You’ll see sunshine and rain, and you might even run into more uncommon weather patterns such as thunderstorms. You’ll find different Pokémon depending on the weather!

The Wild Area is full of what are known as Pokémon Dens. Sometimes, you’ll come across a Pokémon Den that is releasing a red pillar of light. Dynamax Pokémon of different species and varying strength are hiding in them, and you’ll be able to attempt a Max Raid Battle by investigating these dens.

Face Powerful Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokémon

The Dynamax phenomenon, which allows Pokémon to become tremendously powerful, is an integral part of Pokémon battles in the Galar region. Dynamax Pokémon don’t just become bigger—they get a boost in power as well. But they will return to normal after three turns, so make sure to think carefully about when to trigger the Dynamax phenomenon!

While Dynamaxing seems to be a phenomenon common to the Pokémon from Galar, there’s a special type of Dynamaxing known as Gigantamaxing! This rare trait causes the Gigantamax Pokémon to become bigger and change appearance. Gigantamax Pokémon can also use a unique and powerful move known as a G-Max Move!

You’ll find Dynamax Pokémon and (very rarely) Gigantamax Pokémon in Max Raid Battles. These challenging Max Raid Battles allow you to join forces with up to three other Trainers in order to take on a wild Dynamax Pokémon. You’ll each get a chance to catch the wild Dynamax Pokémon that you face if you manage to defeat it.

Other Galar Region Activities

As you continue your journey through the Galar region, you’ll find other enjoyable activities that are not only entertaining, but beneficial to you and your Pokémon. For example, you can check available Poké Jobs at the Rotomi terminal in most Pokémon Centers. You can send Pokémon from your Pokémon Boxes directly to any job you accept. The Pokémon you send will gain experience from the job that will help them grow. Being out on a job for a long time or sending as many Pokémon as you can on a job can also net some good results. You might even receive some rare items.

If you want to chill out and relax with your Pokémon, you can set up camp using Pokémon Camp almost anywhere and anytime you’re exploring in the Galar region! While camping, you can play with your Pokémon and make wondrous curries for both you and your Pokémon. You can even visit the camp of another player or have other players visit your own camp until a total of four players are gathered to interact with Pokémon or make some curry.

Connect Pokémon GO and Pokémon HOME

Pokémon GO will be able to connect to Pokémon HOME by the end of 2020. If you transfer Pokémon to Pokémon HOME from Pokémon GO, you’ll be able to send some of those Pokémon to Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield . It’ll be a great way to let your Pokémon GO buddies join you on your Galarian adventure.

As a bonus, when you send a Pokémon from Pokémon GO into Pokémon HOME, you’ll receive the Mythical Pokémon Melmetal as a Mystery Gift in Pokémon HOME. This Melmetal is a special one that hasn’t been available before—this Melmetal can Gigantamax in any battle in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield that allows it, such as a Max Raid Battle!

How to play Pokémon and other Game Boy games on your iPhone

pokemon journey game download for android

Apple finally updated its App Store guidelines to allow global developers to host retro game emulators on iOS. Now, you don’t need to jailbreak your iPhone or download any sketchy software — you can get a sophisticated emulator right in the palm of your hand for free on the App Store.

No one is more vindicated by this shift in Apple’s policy than Riley Testut, the developer who made GBA4iOS about a decade ago when he was in high school (when he released GBA4iOS, I showed half of my AP Statistics class how to play Pokémon on their phones during class — sorry, Mr. Cinelli). But back then, you had to sideload the app through a loophole, and eventually, Apple caught on and ruined our fun. By fall 2014, GBA4iOS was dead . RIP.

before emulating Pokemon on my iPhone I had to use my TI-84 like an animal pic.twitter.com/t7uMj8J5KS — Riles 🫡 (@rileytestut) June 7, 2022

So why the change of heart now, almost 10 years later? It’s probably a mixture of pressure from changing laws in the European Union, as well as increasing pressure for Apple to at least  try to stop acting like a monopoly . Now, at long last, Testut has released a Game Boy emulator directly into the iOS App Store, where it has already climbed to No. 1 on the entertainment charts, as well as the free app charts generally. Delta, the emulator, even supports DS, N64, SNES and NES games, in addition to Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance games.

If you want to finally play Pokémon on your iPhone, here’s what you need to do:

  • Download Delta . No jailbreaking! No sideloading! It’s finally just a normal app!
  • Now, how do you get games? This is where it gets tricky. If you’re a Paladin-esque rule follower, you can use a tool like Epilogue’s GB Operator , which can rip .ROM files directly from the Game Boy games that you already own.
  • But maybe you don’t have the Pokémon Emerald cartridge that your parents bought for you when you were nine years old. While downloading an emulator like Delta is not illegal, downloading .ROM files can be considered piracy, which is not a practice that we condone.
  • On a completely unrelated note: You know how sometimes when you have a question, you search for related communities on Reddit that might help you answer that question?
  • So, now that you have legally obtained your .ROM file, how do you get it onto your phone? You can put it on Google Drive and add it to your iPhone’s files folder, you can email it to yourself and download it… basically you just want to do whatever is easiest for you to get that coveted .GBA file at your fingertips.
  • Note that only certain file types are supported by GBA4iOS. If you got your game in a .ZIP or .7Z file, you need to actually unzip it first. I used the iZip app — also free in the App Store — but this sort of thing is generally more straightforward if you just download it on your computer.
  • Now, when you open Delta, you’ll see a plus sign in the upper-right corner. From there, you can import your games from iTunes or your files folder.
  • Time to party!

Maybe you just want to play a classic game from your youth. But don’t sleep on ROM hacking communities , which have been modding retro games for decades. These developers can create professional-quality patches for your .ROM files that transport you into completely new games (but you probably want to do the patching on an actual computer). If you’re bored of Pokémon Ruby, why not try Pokémon Emerald Rogue ? Now that Delta is in the App Store, the world is your Cloyster .

Exceptional, best vintage emulator on the App Store!

It’s really cool to think how far we have came in terms of gaming in the last 20 years. 7 systems seamlessly on 1 device is just… amazing. This application brings so much joy to me, playing my childhood DS games. I ended up losing all of my childhood games on a flight when i was about 12 years old, and since then had been wanting to play the games again. I ended up loading all the games that I had lost into my library on the application 🥹 There are no bugs and the AirPlay integration is so cool, it just has a bit of an input delay. One thing I wish was changed: when AirPlay is being used with a controller on DS games, the “lower-half” of the DS screen is not displayed, which is quite annoying. I think the expected behavior should be to have the “top-half” screen shared to the AirPlay device, while the “bottom-half” touch sensitive screen is present on the phone, so it is still able to be used. Regardless, this app is the best thing to hit the app store and to hit the gaming industry in a really long time, and I’m excited to see how much further the developers can go with it in terms of devices and functionality. I will happily make a Patreon donation to promote the development of this application. :)

Exceptional Emulator with a Slick Interface – Delta!

//1. I've been using the Delta emulator on my device, and I must say, it's an absolute joy. The interface is clean and uncluttered, which makes navigating through settings and games an effortless experience. //2. There are no annoying ads to disrupt the gaming session, and the smooth operation enhances every aspect of gameplay. The convenience of the emulator is top-notch, thanks to its intuitive controls and compatibility with a wide range of game formats. It brings back all those nostalgic moments flawlessly, running classics without a hitch. //3. However, there's one feature that would make Delta even better — expanded cloud sync options. Currently, it supports Google Drive and Dropbox, which works well but integrating iCloud sync would be a game-changer for iOS users. This addition would streamline game data management across all Apple devices, making it much more accessible and secure. //4. In conclusion, Delta is a superb emulator that offers a premium nostalgic gaming experience. If iCloud support were added, it would undoubtedly be the perfect package. Highly recommended for anyone looking to relive their favorite gaming memories on the go!

Thank you devs!

When I saw that purple delta symbol in the AppStore again, I thought it was too good to be true. I had the predecessor [GBA4ios]when i was in HS. So of course I downloaded this version. I had some ROMs from my previous attempts at other emulators, but this blew my mind. Delta emulator runs smoothly, is aesthetically pleasing, and is quite easy to navigate. It also runs in an optional fast forward mode that can honestly be too fast at times, no complaints here though. Also, integration of cheats and other mods should be used with discretion, because they might damper your experience with the game. However, that fault isn’t to be left with the emulator, that’s all on you. Lastly, be sure to save your data often (in game & on emulator), because it’s easy to forget that you’re not playing a game that is already on the App Store on its own & auto saving constantly, you’re on your mobile device. Therefore you need to save data yourself, to ensure no loss of gameplay. Otherwise, this emulator can & will change how you spend your free time. It is absolutely the best thing that I’ve come across!
