What Helicopter Charters Have to Offer

Helicopter charters offer a level of flexibility not commonly found with fixed-wing aircraft. From point-to-point city travel to direct access to remote areas, helicopter charters can cater to a range of travel requirements.

Fly when you need to: Just like our private jet charters, your helicopter charter is organized around your schedule and unique preferences.

Access to remote or difficult-to-reach areas: A helicopter has the ability to land at helipads, hotels and even private properties, making it possible to quickly reach remote areas or specific locations that would otherwise be inaccessible by private jet or even by car.

Save time: If you need to reach multiple locations in a day, a helicopter is a point-to-point travel method that can pick you up and get you to your destination quickly.

Versatility: Whether you are traveling for your vacation, have an important business meeting, or transporting medical supplies in a crisis situation, a helicopter charter can provide the quickest and most direct charter solution.

HELICOPTER CHARTER FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What’s the process of chartering a helicopter.

The charter process begins with you being assigned a personal charter expert who will put together and send you a selection of available charter helicopters and quotes based on your requirements. Each quote has a clear breakdown of all aspects of the charter flight, such as the selected aircraft and departure and arrival locations, and why they have been chosen. Once you have decided which option works for you, your personal charter expert will book the helicopter flight and send you all the necessary flight information.

If you have any other queries or requests prior to the flight, you will be able to contact your account manager 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Which Helicopter Should I Charter?

Your dedicated account manager will provide you with a suitable range of helicopters based on your requirements and will assist you with making your final decision. View our aircraft guide for more information on the helicopters that we can source for charter.

Where Can Helicopters Land/Take Off?

Helicopter charters provide an unrivaled level of flexibility in regard to take-off and landing locations since they require far less space than fixed-wing aircraft. A helicopter can arrive and depart from remote helipads, hotels, yachts and even private properties, allowing you to get closer to your desired destination. There are certain factors that need to be taken into consideration when arranging a take-off and landing location, however, our experts will discuss all of the necessary details with you when organizing your helicopter charter.

How Much Luggage Can I Take On A Helicopter

The amount of luggage you can take will depend on the size of the hold and the number of passengers flying. As a rule of thumb, we advise one 10kg soft-sided bag per person. This can be increased if, for example, you have a six-passenger helicopter with only one passenger. If a suggested helicopter doesn’t suit your luggage requirements, an alternative will be arranged.

How Many Passengers Can Travel In A Helicopter?

The maximum number of people we recommend for a helicopter charter is typically nine. If you have more passengers than that, we’ll arrange for multiple helicopters to fly the same route. View our aircraft guide for further information

Can a Helicopter Fly in Bad Weather?

Helicopters are subject to weather but they aren’t just for sunny days. Their ability to operate in adverse weather depends on several factors, including the severity of the conditions and the type of aircraft. Our team will keep you informed of weather conditions in the days leading up to the flight and will work with you to rearrange if necessary.

Benefits of Private Helicopter Travel

When it comes to private air travel, there are plenty of options – ranging from single-engine turboprops to globetrotting business jets. However, one option frequently overlooked is helicopter travel. In that case, a helicopter can land on a rooftop helipad or a nearby field, allowing you to bypass traffic and get to your destination quickly and easily.

CONVENIENCE: Helicopter charters offer a hassle-free experience that allows you to bypass the long lines and crowds typically found at commercial airports. The convenience of helicopter travel is unmatched by any other mode of transportation.

STYLE: Helicopter travel also offers a more comfortable and luxurious experience than other forms of transportation. Our helicopters feature modern interiors, plush seating, and advanced entertainment systems so you can relax and enjoy your journey in style without worrying about cramped seating or uncomfortable conditions.

When to charter a helicopter

Perfectly suited to business and leisure travel, helicopter charters offer flexibility not commonly found with fixed-wing aircraft. Intelligently designed and highly adaptable, helicopter charters are ideal for point-to-point travel, getting you directly to your desired destination.

Helicopters can land and depart from remote UK locations, busy city centres like London, and crowded or otherwise difficult-to-reach destinations. Helipads, hotels, private properties and even yachts are all accessible, so whether you’re travelling for a holiday, conference or event, our helicopter charter specialists can get you there quickly and in style.

How to charter a helicopter?

Get in touch with the team on +44 (0)20 8339 8588 or use the enquiry form above. You will be swiftly connected with an experienced helicopter charter specialist who will organise the charter according to your unique requirements.

How much does a helicopter charter cost?

The cost of a helicopter charter is subject to a variety of factors, such as the size of the helicopter, the length of the flight, and when you’re looking to fly. Naturally, the more passengers, the higher the cost. Contact our helicopter charter team to receive a no-obligation quote.

How many passengers can travel in a helicopter?

The most popular helicopter to charter in the UK is an AW109 twin-engine helicopter which can accommodate up to six passengers. We can also source an H145 or AW139, which can fly up to nine passengers. If you have more passengers than that, we’ll arrange for multiple helicopters to fly the same route.

What is the luggage allowance for a helicopter?

This depends on the type of helicopter and the number of passengers flying. As a rule of thumb, we advise one 10kg soft-sided bag per person. This can be increased if, for example, you have a six-passenger helicopter with only one passenger.

What happens if there’s bad weather?

Helicopters are subject to weather but they aren’t just for sunny days. Their ability to operate in adverse weather depends on several factors, including the severity of the conditions and the type of aircraft. For example, twin-engine helicopters are equipped with advanced navigation systems which can better handle challenging weather situations. Our team will keep you informed of the weather in the days leading up to, and on the day of, your flight and will work with you to rearrange if necessary.

Customization aside, the HX50 is one hell of a helicopter. It’s equipped with a three-blade rotor system and an in-house GT50 turboshaft engine good for 400 hp. This gives the chopper a cruise speed of 161 mph and a range of up to 806 miles. The retractable landing gear also reduces drag for a faster, smoother flight.

What’s more, the chopper looks like something out of a James Bond flick. It features a sleek, futuristic fuselage that can be finished in a variety of attention-grabbing hues, including green, red, orange, white and black.

Inside, the five-person cabin is finished in plush leather and sports large, panoramic windows. To top it off, the simple digital cockpit, which comprises two 15-inch glass instrument panels and an iPad, is ideal for recreational pilots.

As for price, the HX50 starts at roughly $648,000 (£495,000), though that figure increases as extras are added. Hill told Robb Report that production is due to start in 2023. Delivery of each helicopter will depend on the date the order is placed.

Interested? You can use the configurator tool to design your very own HX50 and get a ballpark price.  A deposit will be needed to cement the order, but that’s the price you pay for your very own chopper.

Not Just Helicopters: How Can I Fly On A Blade Private Jet?

  • BLADE operates helicopter services between downtown cities and airports, reducing travel time.
  • The company now offers private jet charter services worldwide based on a "by-the-seat" model.
  • By booking a private jet flight seat, flyers can access VVIP transport at a fraction of the typical cost.

Some of our readers may already be familiar with the brand Blade. According to the company's website, BLADE is a "by-the-seat" scheduled flight provider between Manhattan and JFK or Newark airports. It uses a fleet of Sikorsky S76 helicopters and can also be booked between Vancouver and Victoria in Canada and between Nice and Monaco in Europe. Prospective customers can also book a flight anywhere in the world. Today, we will examine the company's most famous product before deep diving into the airline's less-known service: private aircraft charter.

BLADE: A helicopter service.

Some of you may live in dense urban areas such as New York, Singapore, Paris, or Sydney. Most people agree that traffic can be a real issue. In some cities, even a few blocks may take you over half an hour by road. And while there is public transport like subways or trams, these, when covering long distances, can be inadequate. This is particularly true when passengers make their way to the airport.

Most significant cities have hub airports outside the downtown area. In the early days of aviation, airports like Berlin Tempelhof were right inside of town, and as air traffic was light, it didn't pose an issue. In the 1950s, with the dawn of the jet age, airports had to expand. This led to the creation of airfields outside the metropolises. As was the case with New York's JFK airport, which was built in 1948 and is located 26km from the heart of Manhattan. Anyone who has been to New York knows how difficult getting to the hub can be.

Passengers wishing to get there by car or cab face heavy traffic jams, sometimes leading to a drive that is well over an hour. To reach JFK by public transport is also inconvenient, requiring an interchange with the expensive AirTrain.

BLADE was introduced as an alternative means of transportation, promising a trip of up to 15 minutes between downtown NYC and all its significant airports: Newark, JFK, and LaGuardia. Blade achieves this using a fleet of helicopters, the Sikorsky S76 based out of Manhattan's heliport on the East River a few blocks from the United Nation's HQ. It now also has helicopters based worldwide. In a previous article, we explained that the service operates every 40 minutes from 06:10 to 17:30. When Simple Flying looked, we were quoted $195 one way. Passengers are entitled to one bag weighing up to 20lbs of

New York Airport Helicopter Transfer War: BLADE vs Uber

Today, the charter company operates worldwide, and given its position as a VIP charter service, it is not surprising that it took over Monacair in 2022 to operate helicopters out of one of the most famous yachting destinations worldwide: Monaco.

If you are curious to see what flying on one of these helicopters is like in the Big Apple, you should look at fellow aviation expert Noel Phillips's YouTube video.

Much more than just jets

Now that we have some background on BLADE and its legacy business model; it is time to focus on its lesser-known operations - private jets. According to The Points Guy , Blade offers on-demand turboprops and any private jet class to practically anywhere in the world. Chartering an entire plane can still be a costly affair.

The American charter champions are copying its helicopter concept and bringing it to private aircraft operations. In other words, Blade lets you book by the seat on regularly scheduled private jet flights to popular vacation spots such as Aspen, Miami, and Nassau from airports throughout the US for much less than it would typically cost to rent out a private jet yourself.

This service is called Bladeone. Business Insider reports that the cost of a flight between New York and Miami would be around $2,750. Unfortunately, Simple Flying could not independently verify this price tag as trying to charter a flight brings a 'page not found' error.

It appears, from a photo on the corporate website, that the charter company operates (or operated, as we cannot check if the service is still available) a fleet with at least one Gulfstream G450 aircraft. We covered this jet previously, and some of the perks include a range capable of non-stop transatlantic flights when chartered out of the New York area and a wide enough cabin to move around comfortably during the flight.

Regardless, the quoted price in the Business Insider article seems in line with BLADE's brand identity - which is to reduce the cost of VVIP transport. Granted, two grand for a three-hour flight is still more than an American Airlines passenger would pay; it is still a fraction of what chartering a private jet yourself would be. If we assume that BLADE's fleet is similar to the image found, then its typical category of jets would be super-midsize to large jets, which, when chartered at the last minute, would cost in the region of $20,000 for a flight of a similar length.

Bottom line

While BLADE is famous for its jets, it also operates (or has operated) a fleet of private jets available worldwide following the same business model: renting out a seat. This way, the effective cost is spread amongst all the travelers, allowing the flying public to experience VVIP transport for a fraction of the average costs.

Moscow aircraft, aircraft available locally by jet type and age, estimate private flight prices to and from moscow, charter jets faq, your ultimate moscow charter resource, do i have to stop for customs when i fly on a private jet.

Passengers on all international private charter flights will have to stop at customs. In certain countries, you may have to go through customs at a specific port of entry; for example, you must stop in Tahiti to perform customs checks en route to Bora Bora. You’ll also need to stop at the first port of entry when entering the U.S. from Mexico.

How much rest does the crew need before they can depart again?

Crew members are required to have a 10-hour rest period within each 24-hour cycle. The maximum duty day is 14 hours and must be followed by a 10-hour rest period at their hotel. When scheduling a flight, operators usually account for 12 hours of rest instead of 10. These extra two hours allow the crew time to get to their hotel, rest for the required time, and return to the airport.

How long does a fuel stop for a private jet flight take?

The average fuel stop takes 45–60 minutes. To speed up fuel stops, the operator, or pilots may call ahead, so a fuel truck is waiting for the aircraft on arrival. For smaller jets, a fuel stop can take as little as 30 minutes.

Will my private jet charter use the same airport as a commercial airline?

No. When you charter a private jet, you generally fly into a private airport. However, you could access the same airports as a commercial airline if you request to do so or if there are no private airport options. However, using a large mainstream airport like Los Angeles International or London Heathrow is often a bad choice for private jets, as flying to a smaller regional private airport is much faster and often makes for a more luxurious experience.

Is the age of an aircraft a safety factor?

Aircraft age is not a safety factor. However, if the aircraft is older and hasn’t been refurbished properly, it may cause flyers some inconvenience, such as overheating, faulty air conditioning, or faulty plumbing in the lavatory.

How much luggage am I allowed to bring on a private jet?

As a rule of thumb, each seat on a light or midsize jet equates to one passenger and one item of luggage. Each item of luggage is considered to be the standard 23 kilograms, or about 50 lbs. Large jets are designed for long-range trips, which typically involve longer stays, so you can carry more than one item of luggage per person.

Are there aircraft that are wheelchair accessible?

There are many aircraft that are wheelchair accessible. Most of them are large jets or above and have a straight aisle. If the jet has a zigzag aisle – like the Falcon 900 – it will be difficult to maneuver the wheelchair onboard the aircraft. You’ll also need the right type of wheelchair; many motorized wheelchairs won’t fit and can’t be collapsed. If this is the case, you’ll need a smaller, temporary wheelchair. Some aircraft operators have smaller wheelchairs that can be used. Please speak with your Paramount private jet expert to review your aircraft options.

Can I fly with large sums of cash?

Yes, you can. This is a common occurrence for many private jet clients. You can fly with up to $5 million in cash as long as you declare that cash when coming through customs. For domestic trips, there’s no limit and no need to declare it.

Which private jets come with flight attendants?

In the United States, large jets and above are required to have flight attendants onboard; in Europe, flight attendants are used on midsize jets and above. Flight attendants require their own seats. Larger jets and above have a jump seat near the cockpit for the flight attendant to use, meaning the attendant generally stays out of the cabin.

Which airports offer ramp access, allowing the client to drive their car right up to their private jet?

Private jet clients can often have a limo drive them right up to the private jet, or even drive their own car to the plane. That said, different airports have different policies, and some may not offer ramp access. Please speak with your Paramount Aviation Advisor to review your options for a given trip.

Do private jets come with Wi-Fi?

Many private jets do have Wi-Fi, and it’s increasingly available free of charge on U.S. domestic flights. On international flights, prices range from $3.00-$8.50 USD per megabyte used. This means that opening up social media sites that are rich in images and videos could quickly cost you $20 – and downloading a feature-length movie could cost thousands!

When is on-demand private jet charter better than buying a block of hours?

Private jet charter can be a lot cheaper than buying a block of hours for a one-way flight, as you can access floating fleets or an empty leg to reduce the cost. With a block of hours, the price covers a round trip. If you only fly one-way, you are effectively paying double.

What is a carbon-neutral flight?

Every aircraft burns jet fuel and emits a certain amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere. This can be offset via one of several carbon offset programs that allow private jet clients to purchase a certain number of carbon credits to offset the emissions from their flights. A carbon-neutral flight is one that offsets the carbon emissions it uses via a formal process.

Can I have a flexible departure time for my private jet flight?

Yes, it is possible to have a flexible departure when flying privately. Operators typically offer a 30-minute to two-hour window, but you can request a longer window as long as it doesn’t interfere with the maximum crew duty day or their next scheduled flight. Please confirm with your Paramount Aviation Advisor at the time of booking your jet.

When should I hire a Boeing Business Jet?

Boeing Business Jets (BBJs) have unique amenities that extend far beyond sheer size and are often equipped with 1-2 bedrooms and 2-3 bathrooms (one more of those bathrooms may even offer stand-up showers.) These airliner-based executive aircraft also feature tall or ‘stand-up’ cabins that are also longer and wider than more typical corporate aircraft.

How soon can I have a private jet ready from the time I call in the request?

Generally speaking, with as little as 4 hours of notice. However, we have had wheels up in as little as 32 minutes from the time our client called us to book the flight and had them in the air. It depends on a few factors, such as how long it takes for the pilots to arrive at the airport (generally, there is a 2-hour call-out time for the pilots), and whether the aircraft is ready to go at the airport with no repositioning needed. Our Jet Card members enjoy faster booking since they have funds on account and can confirm a flight with a simple email.

Can I access my luggage while in flight?

On most private jets, you will be able to access your luggage during the flight. That’s because luggage and passengers are situated on the same level. This is in contrast to commercial airlines, where checked luggage is stored in a cargo hold. On large private jets, luggage is often stored in a compartment behind the lavatory, which means easy access to your bags.

When are private jet charter landing and takeoff slots applicable?

A landing or takeoff slot is simply a small window of time in which your aircraft is scheduled to fly in or out of the airport. You will need a landing and takeoff slot if you fly to a high-density airport in the United States or one that is hosting a special event with a significant number of aircraft arriving and departing. If you’re flying internationally, you will need a landing and takeoff slot for all major European cities. Please check with your Paramount Aviation Advisor at the time of booking for a specific route.

What kind of in-flight catering is available on a private jet?

Other than the standard snacks and drinks, you can order local cuisine options for your catering on board. In short, anything that doesn’t need to be cooked can be ordered; hot food must be precooked and then warmed on board.

Can I bring pets with me on private jet flights?

Of course! Just let us know in advance. The majority of the operators and aircraft owners allow pets onboard. In some cases, a small cleaning fee may apply. That said, there are specific requirements that must be met when traveling with your pet, including making sure that all documentation and vaccination records for your pet(s) are correct and up-to-date. Dogs and cats must also be at least eight weeks old and weaned when traveling within the U.S.

LS Polls 2024: Demand for private jets, choppers jumps up to 40%

The hourly rates for chartered services have also spiked. the charge is about rs 4.5 -5.25 lakh for an aircraft and around rs 1.5- 1.7 lakh for a twin-engine helicopter..

  • Updated Apr 14, 2024, 12:28 PM IST

Election Season Skyrockets Demand for Chartered Planes and Helicopters by 40%

With politicians and political party representatives crisscrossing the country for the Lok Sabha polls, the demand for chartered planes and helicopters has jumped up to 40 per cent, and the operators are expected to net 15-20 per cent more earnings, according to industry experts. The hourly rates for chartered services have also spiked. The charge is about Rs 4.5 -5.25 lakh for an aircraft and around Rs 1.5- 1.7 lakh for a twin-engine helicopter, they said. While the demand has surged compared to the normal times and previous election years, there is lesser number of fixed wing aircraft and helicopters available. Some of the operators are looking to take planes and helicopters on wet lease.

"There is an increase in demand for helicopters and it is up to 25 per cent more in the election period compared to the normal period. The supply is less compared to the demand," Rotary Wing Society of India (RWSI) President (Western Region) Captain Uday Gelli told PTI.

Generally, political parties use helicopters for their candidates and leaders to reach places in a shorter time, especially remote areas. Gelli said the use of helicopters is being seen more in bigger states like Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh. Business Aircraft Operators Association (BAOA) Managing Director Captain R K Bali told PTI that the demand for chartered planes is 30-40 per cent higher compared to the previous general polls. The bookings for chartered planes are done in advance and operators will be looking for maximum utilisation of aircraft.

"There is always a gap between supply and demand. Some entities are looking to wet lease planes and helicopters to meet the demand," Bali said. Helicopter use is charged on an hourly basis and the operators generally insist on booking by political parties for a specific number of days and a minimum number of flying hours every day during that period.

"Normally, the hourly rate for single-engine helicopters is around Rs 80,000 to 90,000 while it is about Rs 1.5 to 1.7 lakh for twin-engine helicopters. During election time, the rate is higher at up to Rs 1.5 lakh for single-engine helicopters and up to Rs 3.5 lakh for twin-engine helicopters," Gelli said.

A single-engine helicopter has a seating capacity for up to 7 people, including a pilot while a twin-engine helicopter can accommodate up to 12 people. For the chartered aircraft, the prices can vary between Rs 4.5 lakh to Rs 5.25 lakh per hour.

During election times, Bali said the earnings of the chartered plane operators are likely to be 15-20 per cent higher compared to the normal times. As per the official data, there were 112 Non-Scheduled Operators (NSOPs) at the end of December 2023. Generally, NSOPs are entities that do not have a particular fixed schedule and fly when there is a requirement. These operators have aircraft and helicopters, with seating capacities varying from 3 to 37.

The planes include Falcon 2000, Bombardier Global 5000, Twin Otter DHC-6-300, Hawker Beechcraft, Gulfstream G-200, and Cessna Citation 560XL, according to data from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The ruling BJP incurred expenses totalling more than Rs 250 crore on aircraft/ helicopters, as per the party's annual audited accounts for 2019-20 submitted to the Election Commission of India (ECI).

The amount shelled out by the Congress party towards election travelling expenses in 2019-20 stood at over Rs 126 crore. The party did not mention aircraft/helicopter expenses separately in its annual audited accounts for that financial year. The seven-phase Lok Sabha polls will start on April 19 and it will spread over 44 days across 10.5 lakh polling booths.

The elections will be held on April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1. In 2019, Lok Sabha elections were held in April and May.

Middle East latest: Israeli president says 'last thing region wants is war' but will 'defend its people' after Iran attacks

Israeli military spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said aircraft are still patrolling the skies. Meanwhile, President Joe Biden said the US military helped Israel "take down nearly all of the drones and missiles" fired by Iran.

  • Live reporting by Ollie Cooper  and  Ben Bloch

Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, spokesman for the Israel Defence Forces, has started speaking to the media.

He speaks shortly after an Israeli war cabinet meeting concluded (see 5.55pm post).

A bit more from our interview with Isaac Herzog now - turning toward the situation in Gaza.

As we reported in our 6.10am post, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office has said that Hamas rejected the latest proposal for a deal to return Israeli hostages.

When pressed by our  Middle East correspondent  Alistair Bunkall   on his reaction to that news, the Israeli president indicated that this latest rejection meant further Israeli action in the enclave was likely.

"[This is the] fifth time in a row that we have offered new [ceasefire] suggestions and they (Hamas) have rejected it," he said.

"It's about time that the world realised that they (Hamas) don't really want to move into a deal and therefore we have to take necessary action in order to bring the hostages back home," he added.

An offensive in the city of Rafah has been expected for some time, while Western allies to Israel have strongly urged the government not to attack what is the last refuge for hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians.

The Iranian-backed Hezbollah group has praised Tehran's aerial attack on Israel.

It described the move to attack Israel as a "brave" decision, adding Iran had exercised its legal rights despite "threats, intimidation and pressure".

The group, based in Lebanon, has been engaged in clashes with Israeli forces on the border since the war against Hamas broke out.

Iran has backed, funded, and trained several proxy group across the Middle East region to varying degrees, including Hamas in Gaza, the Houthis in Yemen, Hezbollah in Lebanon and a number of other factions based in Syria and Iraq.

The Israel Defence Forces is set to hold a media conference shortly.

Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari will be speaking from Tel Aviv shortly.

We'll be bringing you the latest right here.

Israel's war cabinet meeting has concluded after several hours of deliberation, an Israeli official has told our partner network NBC News.

The meeting, headed up by Benjamin Netanyahu, was called in response to last night's attack by Iran on Israel.

We're yet to hear from anybody at the meeting, but we'll bring you the latest as we get it.

By Alistair Bunkall , Middle East correspondent

I asked Israel's President a number of times whether he thought Israel should carry out military action against Iran.

Whilst he didn't give a completely straight answer, his words were clear enough: last nights attack was "a declaration of war".

Herzog, as President, isn't part of the executive decision-making body, but he will speak for many here.

"What would you do if more than 300 missiles and drones were fired at Britain?" - he fired back at me.

It's a reasonable question, and fortunately for Britons, an unthinkable one.

Not so for Israelis.

They live under this threat and support their military and government to keep them safe.

The instinct here is to strike Iran back, restore the deterrence and have the final word. It's an enormous risk.

Israel's allies are warning against it.

Biden told Netanyahu to "take the win" and Sunak has called for "calm heads".

Netanyahu will have to listen to them.

Last night showed Israel can count on the UK and US to help defend Israel, but the military support is there to help prevent a war, not to bolster the IDF should Netanyahu want to start a war.

As we've been reporting, the leaders of G7 countries have been holding a meeting this afternoon following Iran's attack on Israel last night.

We've just had a readout of that call, with the leaders saying they "unequivocally condemn in the strongest terms Iran's direct and unprecedented attack against Israel".

They expressed their "full solidarity and support to Israel and its people" and reiterated their commitment to Israel's security.

The statement continues: "With its actions, Iran has further stepped toward the destabilisation of the region and risks provoking an uncontrollable regional escalation. This must be avoided."

They are demanding that Iran and its proxies "cease their attacks" in the region, and say they will continue to work towards an "immediate and sustainable ceasefire in Gaza", an increase in humanitarian aid, and the "release of hostages by Hamas".

The G7 is composed of the UK, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the United States, as well as the European Union as a "non-enumerated member".

Israel's military is calling up two reserve divisions for "operational missions in the Gaza Strip", it has announced.

IDF spokesperson Daniel Hagari said in a statement: "In accordance with the assessment of the situation, the IDF is recruiting in the coming days about two reserve brigades for the operational missions in the Gaza Strip.

"Their recruitment will allow the continuation of the effort and readiness to defend the State of Israel and maintain the security of the residents."

The re-enlistment of troops comes a week after Israel dramatically reduced the number of soldiers it had operating the in Gaza.

As we've been reporting, Israel's war cabinet has convened to discuss next steps over last night's attack by Iran.

This image come to us from the government centre of the Kirya in Tel Aviv - showing members of the cabinet talking.

We're yet to find out what has come out of the meeting itself.

We can now bring you footage showing Israel Defence Forces jets successfully intercepting Iranian drones.

Some 170 explosive drones, 120 ballistic missiles, and 30 cruise missiles were launched by Iran, of which some 99% were intercepted, according to the IDF.

Boeing execs were using the company's private jets for personal trips more than we thought

  • Boeing execs used an additional $545,520 for personal travel expenses in 2021 and 2022.
  • The Wall Street Journal first reported Boeing had improperly classified personal trips on private jets as business travel.
  • The IRS said in February it was beginning to audit corporate jet usage.

Insider Today

Boeing's execs have been using the company's private jets for personal travel — and it's more than we thought.

Top Boeing executives used an additional $545,520 for personal jet travel in 2021 and 2022 than was initially reported, according to an amended SEC filing .

The Wall Street Journal reports Boeing made the revisions after an investigation last year into the use of private jets by its top executives.

Related stories

The Journal found that, in some cases, personal trips had been improperly classified as business travel.

"Following a review commenced by the company in 2023, we found certain items, primarily aircraft, and ground transportation costs … were not previously classified as perquisites by the Company but should have been classified as such in accordance with SEC rules and guidance," the company said in its proxy statement .

The revised stats for Boeing's outgoing CEO, Dave Calhoun, amounted to an additional $142,315 in personal travel in 2021 and 2022.

That said, Boeing wrote in the filing that its CEO "is required to use company aircraft for all business and personal travel for security reasons."

The other execs whose travel was revised in the filing include CFO Brian West, former president and CEO of commercial airplanes Stanley Deal, and president and CEO of Boeing defense, space, and security Theodore Colbert.

Boeing did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider.

Calhoun recently said he would step down at the end of 2024 after he faced significant scrutiny following the Alaska Airlines 737 Max 9 door blowout in January.

The Journal notes there are tax implications when company jets are taken for personal travel and that the IRS said it will begin auditing corporate jet usage this year.

The Journal's 2023 investigation found that Boeing's fleet of private jets had made around 400 trips to or from airports near Calhoun's two homes in New Hampshire and South Carolina since roughly 2020 after Boeing moved its headquarters from Chicago to Arlington, VA., in 2022, and attempted to get staff to return to the office.
